Ethical Issues In The Movie The Kids Are Alright
Same–sex parenting and invitro fertilization (IVF) donor privacy are the two main ethical dilemmas
presented by the 2010 movie "The Kids are Alright". Several other problems crop up throughout the
movie, which is also ethical decisions. With personal IVF experience, this movie seemed to be a
logical choice, however, the only real similarity is the daily struggles raising teenagers. The real
theme of the movie should be the unintended consequence life presents when decision–making is
poor or non–existent. A movie summary, followed by a few of the literary reviews, sets the stage for
the director's intentions and a summary of the stereotypes portrayed. Ethical leadership does find its
way into the movie, but not from the expected source. Finally, a discussion about the movie's effect
on culture and my outlook on several of the ethical issues come to the same conclusion, the kids are
alright. Movie Synopsis This movie presents a non–traditional family with very traditional issues of
loyalty, fidelity, honesty, teens pushing limits and parents struggling to find common ground. Joni
(18) and Laser (15) were both conceived by (IVF) from one sperm donor, the twist is their mothers
are a lesbian couple, which Joni calls the moms. Nic is an Ob–gyn doctor and Jules, the homemaker,
is starting landscape design business, both are struggling with the fact that Joni is leaving for college
in the fall. Laser, the only male, appears to be missing an actual male father even though Nic

Short Story Of Alright Kidd: A Narrative Fiction
"Alright Kidd...we ready to go?" "Aye...I got him located. He should have the whereabouts for the
kidnapped people, and your mother and brother's whereabouts...but it doesn't make sense Aria...why
would he kidnap so many people? It doesn't add up..." Kidd mumbled and Aria sighed. "He could be
using them as slaves...but I doubt it...maybe it has something to do with a Temple that Haybi was
talking about...?" "I don't know...but we need to hurry and get this done encase he leaves again..."
Aria nodded and pulled her hood down. "Let's go Mary..." Aria replied actually using Kidd's real
name. Aria and Kidd climbed down from the roof tops and walked out onto tree branches and used
them to get into the private property of their target's estate. His name was Lawrence Shire, a
Welshman with Spanish blood. The Assassin's have been after him for months. He has been working
with the Templars for a few years now...but now he walked right into a place where Aria and Kidd

It's Alright Officer By Jimmy Wells
In any story there is a central message or theme as the main idea. This story happens to have many
themes conveyed by the way it's told. One of the themes in this story is that a promise must be kept.
Another is the need to fulfill responsibilities despite the choices one makes in life. In this story many
key and eventful literature are present.
In the beginning of the story dialogue is exchanged in between a police officer with a waiting
"Bob". The main character starts to act somewhat annoyed or rattled to the officer's presence with
the remark "It's alright officer". As the conversation continues the officer becomes more curious
about Bob's previous whereabouts and his life before now. From here we can question why the
officer was so interested in the story of the character. It was possible that he was simply a convict
planning to steal something or waiting for a gang of suspects to go cause complications. However,
after a long chat with the waiting man, the officer excuses himself from the scene to do anything.
Later on the same man is introduced into tall man in a coat, who he assumes is his long departed
friend Jimmy Wells. The man is later revealed to be another officer or official to ... Show more

In the middle of the story both the main character and the officer are talking about Bob's past and his
friend "Jimmy's" situation. The dialogue exchanged shows that Jimmy is humoring his friend until
the light of his cigarette reveals that he is indeed someone that the police have been searching for all
along. Instead of revealing himself to his friend, Jimmy takes himself back to the station and gets
someone else to rendezvous with his friend and turn him in. At the end of the day responsibility is
very important. Not only did Jimmy keep his word, but he also realized that he had a job to do
despite the fact that he would hurt his friend in the

Social Issues In Kendrick Lamar's 'Alright'
Through songs many people express their feelings of the world threw the words they have wrote.
Many songs talk about civil rights of the people and how change should be an option. In the world
we live in today we have social issues that people have to face such as: police brutality, racial
profiling, discrimination etc. Through Kendrick Lamar, Public Enemy, The Game, Bebe Winans,
and N.W.A they will use their voice as a weapon for change among all people. Music with a
message thrives in a live setting, for obvious reasons, and many politically conscious musicians aim
to channel the heightened emotions
Kendrick Lamar's song "Alright" talks about race and how African Americans are being targeted and
profiled. The song tells about the gun violence and police brutality that is effecting our community,
"And we hate Popo, wanna kill us dead in the street for sure, n..." (Line 35). This quote out of his
song is significant because in the world we live in someone gets killed every day for the color of
their skin color or a profile that someone made off assumptions. As the song goes he tell about how
African Americans were discriminated. "When you know, we been hurt, been down before, n... /
When our pride was low, lookin' at the world like, "where do we go, n...?"' (Line 33–34).
Throughout the years African Americans are looked down on to the point where they do not know
what their purpose is. For some, living in a world where people do not want them there hurts the
pride of people.

Analysis Of The Poem ' The Blacker The Berry ' And '...
To many Kendrick Lamar is just another west coast rapper; and to a diehard group of fans he is the
king of west coast rap. But on the night of the 2016 Grammy awards, as he limped on stage, chained
to his backup dancers, Kendrick suddenly became more than just a rapper. His six minute
performance of "The Blacker the Berry" and "Alright" from his hit album To Pimp a Butterfly was
captivating, electrifying and so powerful it had him trending on Twitter for days to follow. This
reaction was the result of shock and praise as mainstream America was introduced to the
unapologetic blackness of Kendrick's art. Broadcasted on a network television station, the awards
show presented the perfect platform and opportunity for Kendrick to reach out to beyond his usual
fan–base. As all great artists do, Kendrick realized the rarity of the chance he was given and how he
could use the moment to do more than just display his talents as a rapper. His performance gloried in
its afrocentrism, with its medley of hip–hop, jazz, traditional African costumes and dance. But the
message in the lyrics Kendrick rapped, spoke of a uniquely American issue: the high rates of police
brutality against black men in the United States. One thing that is true is that rap music has a
negative reputation among the mainstream audience because of its heavy references to gang
violence, drugs, money, misogyny, sex, etc. Another truth is that rap music has been historically
considered a large part of black culture.

That's Alright, Because I Love the Way you Lie
"Oh," cried Lizzie, "Laura, Laura, / You should not peep at goblin men." / Lizzie cover'd up her
eyes, / Cover'd close lest they should look; / Laura rear'd her glossy head, / And whisper'd like the
restless brook: / "Look, Lizzie, look, Lizzie, / Down the glen tramp little men. / One hauls a basket, /
One bears a plate, / One lugs a golden dish / Of many pounds weight. / How fair the vine must grow
/ Whose grapes are so luscious; / How warm the wind must blow / Through those fruit bushes." /
"No," said Lizzie, "No, no, no; / Their offers should not charm us, / Their evil gifts would harm us."
/ She thrust a dimpled finger / In each ear, shut eyes and ran: / Curious Laura chose to linger/
Wondering at each merchant man. / One had a cat's face, / One whisk'd a tail, / One tramp'd at a rat's
pace, / One crawl'd like a snail, / One like a wombat prowl'd obtuse and furry, / One like a ratel
tumbled hurry skurry. / She heard a voice like voice of doves / Cooing all together: / They sounded
kind and full of loves / In the pleasant weather. Pg. 1652, Lns. 48–80, Christina Rossetti
In April 1859 the poem "Goblin Market" was produced and later published in 1862. After
publication, many argued between weather or not the poem was meant to be a children's poem, but
author Christina Rossetti later makes a statement that is clear in that her poem was not, in fact,
meant for children as it contains explicit imagery. In her poem,

My First Year In High School
Have you ever looked up from whatever you were doing and see the girl that you want to spend
your whole life with, the girl who shares some characteristics with you, who is looking right at you,
but you are too scared to say or do anything? It was autumn and the air was cold and crisp. "The bell
just rang Kotaro! Let's go, don't want to be late to class on the first day of school!" Yama said with
excitement in his voice. "I'll be right there!" I said as I packed my belongings into my backpack.
This is my third year in high school, and next year is my last, so I have to make these days count. As
I walked towards the school entrance, leaves were blown into the air by the wind and the smell of
oak wood trees filled my lungs. There were students everywhere enlightened to get to class; the
sound of autumn leaves crackling when students stepped on them made a very satisfying sound to
new. I could still taste the flavour of my peanut butter sandwich that I had this morning for
breakfast; It was quite cold out, so I had my hands inside my pocket, gasping for warmness. "Hey
Yama! I'm here, let's head to class now." I said. "Yeah Kotaro, I'm so happy that we have our first
class together!" Yama said excitedly. "Yes, I'm happy for us too!" My sophomore and freshmen ear
consisted of mostly C's and D's because I put too much time into my novels. I'm a very quiet person,
and Yama is like my only friend, but I plan to make more friends this year. I often think about my
future but can't express it to anyone but Yama because I'm a very shy person.
"Classroom number 46, history. We're here Kotaro! Let's see who our teacher is and meet our
classmates." Yama said as we stepped into the classroom. There were two empty seats in the front of
the class, so that's where we decided to sit. Our teacher is a girl and her name is Ms. Azumi. She
made me and Yama introduce ourselves and so we did.
"Salutations, my name is Kotaro and I'm a junior." I said shyly.
"Goodmorning, my name is Yama and I'm a junior as well!" He said loudly and happily. After
school ended, I waved goodbye to Yama as he walked home. My first day back at school felt great
even though nothing special happened. I've never felt this good on the first day of

Song Analysis : Alright By Kendrick Lamar
In "Alright" Kendrick Lamar is speaking to the public about police brutality, or is he sending a
deeper message to the people of minority. Kendrick Lamar released the song titled "Alright" in
2015. Upon release the song instantly blew up. It 's catchy and even though people got tongue tied
trying to recite the song everyone knew the hook of the song which stated "We gon be alright do you
hear me do you feel me we gon be alright." I wonder did anyone catch the poetic verses Kendrick
was saying before the hook. By simply watching the video you instantly think oh police brutality but
I recieved a deeper message. I believe Kendrick wanted the song to inform the public about the
brutality that seemed to be continuous at the time; and offer a bit of hope to those who didn't feel
there was any. That's why the song was so famous, Kendrick performed this song on numerous
award shows and talk shows because the people needed to hear it. Though some believe the song is
in protest against cops or sending a bad message others believe it is an anthem for african americans.
I do believe that Kendrick targeted the African American population with the song but the song
could be for all races and minorities. I don't think the song excluded anyone. Police brutality can
happen to any race and it has happened to just about every race. African Americans just have been
the most talked about and more frequently abused lately. Kendrick doesn't put himself upon a
pedestal or imply that he's above

The social landscape of our country has become a volatile solution of opposing opinions, and
revolutionary ideas. This environment becomes the breeding ground for significant social change
music that's comparable to the pioneers like Jon Lennon, Bob Marley, and Jimmie Hendrix. Major
social biases like gay rights or the war in the Middle East are being protested with music. One of the
more notable events that is being perused by artists is the subject of police brutality, and racism
which is backed by the Black Lives Matter campaign. Artist like Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, and
Common have all created protests songs supporting this movement calling for justice. One of the
most notable songs in that has influence the Black Lives Matter movement is Kendrick Lamar's
Alight. Lamar's song alright has become the anthem of the crusade fighting injustices, and racism in
today's society. Kc Orcutt from the source states "this track's socially conscious lyrics have had
protesters chanting the chorus at rallies". As the popularity continues to grow Lamar's anthem also
gains popularity. The powerful lyrics explain how the inequalities in modern society have burdened
his culture, and ensures that regardless "We gon' be alright". Successes of Alright show how music

goes further than just explaining the events, and asks his audience to have action in protest. He does
this by using the words don't just stand around which are intended to motivate action from society.
Another powerful song birthed from this movement is Common and John legend's award winning

The Kids Really Are Alright
The Kids Really are Alright
This class began with the discussion of what exactly the definition of family is, soon we came to
find that family is comprised of many different components to which there is no one all–
encompassing definition. The Kids are Alright depicts just one aspect of our widening definition of
family. This is a traditional two–parent household, comprised of lesbians, both referred to as mother
and their two children, which are half–siblings. The mothers enlisted alternative methods, artificial
insemination from a common donor, in order to have two children which shared common genes.
When we join this family the oldest child is turning 18 and the family is well established in their
roles and routines. Nic is a doctor and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Expectedly, it becomes evident very quickly that the presence Paul is wearing hard or Nic. It seems
as though Nic feels jealous and threatened by Paul, Jules on the other hand, seems to enjoy the
addition of Paul seeing her children in him. Unfortunately, things between Jules and Paul cross the
line and she has an affair with him. This has more to do with the state of the relationship between
Jules and Nic and less to do with Paul. Just as Nic begins to accept that Paul may be a permanent
fixture she discovers the affair, which causes extreme family stress that takes time to mend. In the
end Nic and Jules are able to overcome their issues and move forward. The kids regret bringing Paul
into their lives because of how things turned out. Eventually, they accept that Paul is a part of them,
yet, they do not want to keep contact with him in such a capacity as they once did. This movie really
addresses the concept of family and how many forms that it can take. There is a certain complexity
to family and relationships, yet no matter how diverse they may seem they are quite alike in many
ways.
The prevalent themes of the movie revolve around the concepts of marriage and family. This family
would be considered "alternative" in many respects. Family is defined in different ways depending
on the context. According to the U.S. Census Bureau family is defined as a group of two or more
people living together, which are related by birth,

The Portrayal of the Contemporary Society in Talking Heads
We have been studying three different monologues written by Alan Bennett. They are 'Her Big
Chance' involving Lesley an actress, 'Bed Among the Lentils' with Susan, a vicars wife and 'A Chip
in the Sugar' including Graham who still lives with his mother. In this essay I am going to discuss
how contemporary society is portrayed in all three. There are many different issues in our society
which are raised in talking heads, for example: religion, ageism and sexuality.
Sexuality
Sexuality is involved in all three monologues, but more in Graham's. All throughout 'A Chip in the
Sugar' there is suspicion that Graham is gay. An example of ... Show more content on

We can see her make her make similar excuses for things she doesn't like in other places in the
monologue.
There is also very little sexuality included in Susan's monologue. Geoffrey, her husband has just
finished a sermon on sex, and she has over heard Miss Budd and Miss Bantock's discussion. "Not to
mention whatever shamefaced fumblings go on between Miss Budd and Miss Bantock. "It's alright
if we offer it to God, Alice" "well if you say so Pauline." Here Susan is implying that they are
lesbians.
Religion
Religion is quite important part of the monologue 'Bed Among the Lentils' as Susan, the main
characters husband is a vicar. I think that the whole thing briefly suggests that in our time not as
many people have such strong beliefs as they did 50 years ago. This can be seen in a lot of sarcastic
remarks which Susan makes. "So Geoffrey concludes, when we put our money in the plate it is a
symbol of everything in our lives we are offering to God and that includes our sex. I could only find
10p" This is saying that she doesn't think much of her sex life and also shows how weak her beliefs
in God are. One other particular quote I find interesting is "To look at me, the hair, the flat chest, the

The Pros And Cons Of Governor Rick Snyder
Let's be real right now not a lot of people like Governor Rick Snyder right now or for a while, a
many people do like Rick Snyder. There must be a reason Rick Snyder is still governor because if he
was that bad he would be out of office already. Think about it, if you were Rick, would you do the
same? If your image was in jeopardy, would you have done the same? I agree with the other side
that he should have brought up the issue earlier because he furthered the damage of the trust that he
had with the people of Michigan. Rick Snyder is a good governor; he has done a lot of good things.
That is why many people believe that Rick Snyder should still be governor after this ordeal. My
reasons are that he has been governor for a long time, it's the states fault, not Rick's, and my last
reason why Rick Snyder should ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you just stop and think for one moment and say to yourself,"wait he is not the only person in the

should have known they are above the president and if they didn't bring up the issue before time
then it is their fault. Now do you see that if you open your mind to more possibilities you wouldn't
be blind. Other people might say that Rick Snyder should not be governor because he is the reason
for all of this mess he is the worst governor, he put the lives of children in jeopardy, but we all
believe they are wrong. We all real people in Michigan think that there are other people to blame
like the congress. Secondly, he's been in office for a long time. And lastly, it is the state's fault, not
just Ricks. We don't care what other people say to us about our side that is what we believe. This is

Short Story Addison It's Alright

her mother had met the couple many times to finalize the paperwork that an adoption requires.
Addison had handpicked the Georges to adopt her child when she was five months pregnant. Out of
all the other files of adoptive parents, the George's were the ones Addison felt most certain would

Melanie was a kindergarten teacher for the town elementary school. There was no doubt in

This Jesus Must Die Rhetorical Devices
The first song that I chose was "Heaven on Their Minds". Not only is it the opening song but it also
sets the tone for the entire show. Right off that bat we find out that Judas and Jesus use to be very
close but that Judas no longer agrees with Jesus or likes what it is he is doing. This can very easily
be related to anyone who has ever had disagreements with a friend or family member and, because
of their differences, were no longer able to have a healthy relationship with each other. This is
something I can really relate to because I lost a best friend due to our differences in political and
religious views. As someone in the LGBT community and a very liberal political upbringing its very

This song is all about a character who is sent to kill someone and goes through a lot on inner turmoil
on whether or not to go through with it. During this song he tries to speak to Jesus about who he
really is while stalling killing him. Pilate, being a military man knows that 40 lashes will kill a man.
So while he still ends up wiping Jesus, which is what he was sent to do, he only does 39. I think that
Pilate really feels for Jesus and in this song is truly doing everything in his power to try and help
pick Jesus up so he can fight for himself. Unfortunately we know that in the end things don't go well
for Jesus or Pilate. I think that this can be related to real life in the sense that some people are made
out to be the bad guy even when they really aren't. However, if people don't make the effort to prove
their innocence they are essentially out of luck. The overall theme of this musical as a whole can
very much be related to every day life. And the fact that this show is based off of bible stories yet is
still incredibly relevant is extremely interesting to

Dramatic And Verbal Irony In It's Alright, Ma By Bob Dylan
The song I chose is "It's Alright, Ma" by Bob Dylan. This song contains many instances of dramatic
and verbal irony. Throughout the song Dylan uses contradictions to comment on society and uses
wit as well to convey the hypocrisies of society. For instance, Dylan says, "while preachers preach
of evil fates, teachers teach that knowledge waits, can lead to hundred–dollar plates...but even the
president of the United States sometimes must have to stand naked" (. The irony within these lines is
that the president is supposed to listen to preachers and teachers, and good things will happen. But
Dylan shows the hypocrisy within society and that you can all of those things and still end up in a
bad place. There are many instances within the song that

Song Analysis: I 'Ll Be Alright'
B. Analysis
1. Choose a video clip or a commercial/an advertisement and analyze its representation of
postmodernism or feminism! Use semiotic to enrich your analysis!
The video clip that is going to be analyzed is a music video by Passion Pit entitled 'I'll Be Alright'
released in 2012. From the song, this song is about someone who is trying to let his lover go, though
he still wants to be with his lover. However, this song shows different thing with the music video.
The music video shows its own story about the song. When people hear the song, they will not think
anything else, but hear someone who is trying to let his lover go. Then, when they see the music
video, though the concept resembles with the song, it shows totally different perspective ... Show

There are two more art works called Break Up and Passion. We know that the song also about Break
Up. Therefore, the art work Break Up here shows how Break Up can makes someone be atomized
and they can be destroyed even more if someone light the dynamite as symbol of patience. It
represents by the guide saying that the man who watches it should put his hands and feet parts on
the wall. Then, on the wall, there is already a dynamite.
Then, there is also an art work called Passion that is seen by a woman visitor. That art work is
shown as a painting with shape square, lines, lighter, and triangle as the picture of painting. This
painting later is burnt by itself with the woman staring it. The woman is also burnt because of
watching it. It represents how someone's passion can burn themselves and people. This burning also
implicates that passion of love can make people suffer.
Those two art works mentioned above also how postmodernism works in this music video. It's like
the case of singing art work and making out with an art work that it rejects the Meta–narratives.
However, not only the point the decline of Meta–narrative appears in this music video, but also the
point confusion over space and time appears in it. It happens after the guard makes out with the art,
when the clock on the clock melts. It symbolizes that in that video, space and time are not valid

Turned Out Alright In The End Of The Great Gatsby
Jay Gatsby, the title character of the novel The Great Gatsby, is a character that the reader can either
love or hate. Throughout the story of Gatsby's life raises questions about identity, moral standing,
and aspiration. Whether the reader agrees with Gatsby's life choices, depend on their opinion on
these topics. Nick, the narrator, sides with Gatsby saying that he turned out alright in the end. But
within the book, you learn some details about Gatsby's story that make you question whether he
really "turned out alright in the end".
Although Jay Gatsby is the main character in the novel, he does not appear as a speaking role until
the third chapter. F. Scott Fitzgerald decides to keep the identity of Jay Gatsby enigmatic. In the first
two chapters, Gatsby is presented as the center of gossip and as a type of celebrity. When Fitzgerald
finally introduces Gatsby, he appears surrounded by multitudes of aristocratic men and women as
the host of one of many of his extravagant parties. This introduction to Gatsby gives meaning
behind the title "The Great Gatsby". In the first couple of chapters Gatsby is seen as a classy,
luxuriant man, who has an extensive pocket of wealth to tap from. One of the many mysteries
presented of Gatsby, is his past. Gatsby's past is one of the major components of the controversy of
Gatsby. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Analysis Of The Movie ' The Kids Are Alright '
Media Logs,
Psych 4
Johanna Allen
1. One of my favorite movies of all time is "The Kids Are Alright". It centers on a lesbian couple,
Nic and Jules, and their two children, Laser and Joni. Laser and Joni are biologically half brother
and sister, sharing the same sperm donor father. Laser is only fifteen, but interested in getting to
know his biological father. He convinces his older sister to look him up, knowing he would have to
be eighteen to do it himself. The movie follows the repercussions of the discovery of their biological
dad, and also examines Nic and Jules' relationship, and Laser's development of independence, self,
and identity. Throughout the movie it is clear that Laser is still stuck in the transitional place

2. For this portion of the assignment, I chose to watch a rerun of one of my all time favorite TV
shows, Law and Order Special Victims Unit. In this episode, Choice (season 5), we are introduced to
an assault victim who is pregnant. Over the course of the episode, we discover that the victim,
Jennifer, has been drinking heavily due to the stress she has been put under. Initially she agrees to
stop, but it is soon discovered that Jennifer is a severe alcoholic, and has no intention of altering her
behavior. The lead detective, Olivia, tries to get her help, but it's eventually discovered that Jennifer
has already given birth to another child who was later adopted, and who is now suffering with fetal
alcohol syndrome. In this episode, we see that Jennifer's husband, along with many of the SVU
detectives try to provide her with resources, support, and advice, but it takes her being introduced to
her biological child and seeing the severity of the consequences of her actions that she chooses to
accept the help she needs. There were many other factors in this pregnancy that could also be
harmful to the child. Not only was the mother an alcoholic who continued to drink, she also was
under a severe amount of stress throughout the pregnancy. She suffers a nasty fall and countless

Is It Alright To Go Against The Government?
Going Against the Government Is it alright to go against the government? Going against the
government is a grey area. Conducting this sort of action can be both right or wrong. It depends on
the reason and how the person would go against the government. It could be a revolt against the
government or just a simple protest to change a law. Every single person in the United States has the
ability and right to speak out. It is appropriate to go against the government, but only under certain
circumstances. First, it is not appropriate to go against the government if any destruction of property
is done. Studs Terkel, who resides in Montague, Massachusetts, went against the government due to
them building a nuclear power plant near his town. "...I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the 1950's Montgomery, Alabama had very complex segregation laws when it came to public
transportation like buses. "Montgomery's segregation laws were complex:...if the white section was
full and another white customer entered, blacks were required to give up their seats and move
farther back...,"(Dove). The law stated that all blacks were required to give up their seat for a person
who was white. This practically made all African Americans lesser than a human being. In 1955, An
African American woman named Rosa Parks was arrested. Parks was arrested for not giving up her
seat for a white person. Due to this incident, the African American community protested against the
government by asking every African American to not use the buses. "We are...asking every Negro to
stay off the buses Monday in protest of the arrest and trial...," (Dove). This is the correct way to go

The First Song Of The Playlist Was Called Almost Alright...
This week I listened to a program from the New Sounds collection. It was on electric guitarists/
composers. This collection first aired on July 21, 2014 and it consist of ambient electronic artists,
who are known for creating sonic landscapes with their music. The first song of the playlist was
called Almost Alright by Noveller. Noveller is an artist who plays her own music and tries to explore
the different uses and sounds that can come out of a single guitar. She uses the different sounds to
create unique textures in her work. The song started off with a periodicity of chords, which sounded
like notes from a scale. I could not recognize which one but I could hear the descending of the
pitches. Then there was an undertone note that was consistent. The song overall was slow but it
contradicted the typical sounds of an electric guitar. I kept expecting for the music to speed up, but it
didn't. The artists instead played with the length of sustainment in each note. I thought it was
interesting to hear how long a note could last and how it created a constant interval with the melody.
This idea gave the piece more texture within the vertical organization. This piece of music was
written in a 4/4. The constant repetition made it easy to notice the time signature.
In this listening activity and song, I realized just how interesting the timbre of an electric guitar is.
With each pluck of the strings I noticed the vibrations of each pitch and how they sounded when
they were being

An Avalanche Narrative
DAY 11 I got up, ate my cold mushy oatmeal and prepared for my day's trek. I spent time looking
back on my trip thus far which happens when you're all alone on the world's largest mountain. I
realized that I might not be the sole survivor. When my team members ran into their tents, they
might have been getting their avalanche packs. An avalanche pack is basically the climbing
equivalent to an airbag. If you get caught in an avalanche, you deploy it and it can prevent you from
sinking into the avalanche. My mom told me to buy one before I left for Everest, but those packs
can be over a thousand dollars, there was no way I was going to spend that kind of money on
something I probably wouldn't use. Clearly my mom was right because if I had a pack I wouldn't
have been trapped in the avalanche in the first place which could have been the case for my team
who all probably think I'm dead right now. After my little reflection on how my unpreparedness
almost killed me and could still end up killing me, I began the day's hike. At around 7:00 at night I
decided to camp for the night. I setup my tent and went to sleep.
DAY 12 Oh my God I think this might be it I don't see how in God's name I am supposed to get out
of this. How was I such an idiot why didn't I think about this? All I had to do was set up camp thirty
feet further up on the flat land, but I just had be lazy and not think about it. First, I didn't buy the
pack and now I'm gonna die because I decided to set up camp on an

"Honey, are you alright!? Did you hear what happened today? What did your school do? What did
they tell you?" My mother said quickly as ever after a huge embrace and sigh of relief. I just walked

a normal day turned into one of the most tragic days in American history after I got to school. "Yes
mother, I am fine. Where's dad!?" I asked intently. You see, my father works for the US Department
of Defense and he had been there, in the pentagon, when the crash took place. "Your father is in the

The smell of a dirty old medical facility mixed with the constant noise of beeping coming from

gazing at my father. He looked like he had gotten in a fight with an angry stray cat! He had cuts on
his face and arms, scratches on his leg, and his head was covered in a huge bruise that spanned from
his left eyebrow passed his hairline. He had an IV hooked up to his wrist and an oxygen tube set up
to his nostrils. I had never seen him like this before. I couldn't express how I felt into words. I felt
the tears forming back in my eye again, but this time I didn't hold anything back. My eyes were
waterfalls streaming down my expressionless red face. When the nurse finally finished what she was
saying, my mother and I got back into our car and headed home. I couldn't shake the depressing
image of my beat up father. Then I began to think of the people who attacked the Pentagon, and my
fist started clenching by my side. This time, our car ride was in complete silence. My mother said
that my father had to stay the night at the hospital so they could monitor his brain waves or
something... I wasn't really listening. I was caught in a whirlwind of sadness, anger, and grief.

My Reflection Of A Writing Diagnostor
Writing Diagnostics During the course of this class, I would like to become a better reader. I have
always been a slow reader and don't comprehend what I read. Also I have been a generally decent
writer, but my grammar isn't very high. In elementary school, I was in the reading help classes and I
don't think they helped much, I am still behind my grade level. After High School, I want to find a
job, move out, and find a decent house. I will probably work at a care home or something like that. I
would like to go straight into the workforce, school is not my thing. The kids are annoying and
immature, the teachers generally aren't my biggest fan, besides a select few I actually do like. I have
always loved to work and have had jobs since I was 14. I have thought about the military but I
would not enjoy being away from home for a long period of time so I figured that is a bad choice. I
think about it more and more each day and the being away from home might not be so bad, but I still
don't think I could do it. I do plan on staying in the Alpena area as I grow up, start a family and all
the good things. I have been through my dad's kidney failure, my brother's bladder cancer, and now
my hyperthyroidism and I have learned that life is too short to be doing things I don't want to do.
Which is why I have decided to pass on college and maybe go to cosmetology school,

Conflict Management Styles And What I Think About It
Conflict Management Styles
Conflict management in general sounds so easy, but that is not true. Conflict management has to do
with everything that we do in our everyday life. It is so important that everyone should learn about
it. We learned in class that there are five conflict styles, according to Kilmann conflict mode
instrument, the styles depends on assertiveness and cooperativeness. There's no wrong or right style,
and it always depends on the person and on the situation. So in this paper I'm going to explain the 5
conflict styles and what I think about them.
First of all, and most important one, the one I always use and the one I scored highest in the survey
is compromising, what I love about compromising is it's so easy to convince the other person and in
the same time no one has to lose a lot. It's in the middle between cooperativeness and assertiveness.
For example, in my freshmen year I used to live in campus with a roommate, at first my roommate
used to ask to take some of my food and I never say no, so week after week my friend started to take
stuff without asking and he thought that was alright, It wasn't. so I went and talked to him about it he
denied it, then he said 'ooh I thought it was mine', I knew he was lying but I didn't care because I
knew that I'm going to move out soon, so the solution we ended up having is to have half of the
fridge for him and the other half for me, it worked for two months then I moved out.
The second style I'm going to talk

Analysis Of Lee 's ' We Gon ' Be Alright
During the Civil Rights Era from 1954–1968, leaders like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X,
Bayard Rustin and many others utilized the strength of voice to empower the people they were
representing. When they stood up to speak, their reason for speaking was not to make others change
their minds, but instead, to encourage and inspire those who already believed in their cause and
shared their hardships. Fast forward to today, and the same methods are being used. In Jeff Chang's
book, "We Gon' Be Alright", he is constantly using examples and stories as the evidence to back up
his ideas and his perspective. While most people think the reason for that is to change the reader's
way of thinking, Chang doesn't try to persuade anyone. His ... Show more content on

Chang realized that there are people who get their information from their TV's, phones and tablets.
So they may be led on to believe that the point of the use of the term "hands up" during protest was
solely about Michael Brown, when in fact it was about the longstanding history of racial injustice in
the U.S. The mainstream media doesn't always tell the true story, and using TV as a source can
distract people from the actual issues on hand. Rather than debating about why a movement is using
a certain term during their protest, the debate should be over why race–based crimes are so frequent.
Another example of Chang calling out media bias is on page 113, where he describes the night when
a young man named VonDerrit Myers was shot down in an interaction with a police officer during a
"pedestrian check". According to the police, Myers had a gun and was killed in a one on one
gunfight with the officer (Chang, 113), however, that wasn't the end of the story. "They [the police]
noted Myers had been wearing a GPS ankle bracelet–– a consequence of being out on bail for recent
charges of unlawful use of a weapon and resisting arrest. The media was fed Instagram photos of
Myers posing with guns," (113). Because the media was filled with pictures of Myers with guns,
people who didn't know all the details of the situation formed opinions on it based on something that
isn't even relevant to what the real problem is. In a Fox news article released after the shooting, the

Her weak eyelids flutter apart and she struggles to look up at me. Guilt washes over me for waking
her as her weak lips pull up in a fragile smile. She greets me and I kneel down beside the couch.
"How much do you weigh?"
Erin 's eyeing the medicine in my hands now. "What are you talking about?"
"Would you say you 're in the seventy to one hundred pound range?" I press. She 's still looking at
me funny and I explain to her that the medicine dosage depends on weight.

Alright By Kendrick Lamar
Political songs in hip–hop are a "dime–a–dozen" now, with the plethora of problems faced by
minority U.S. Citizens. The song "Alright" by Kendrick Lamar is no different. The song debuted in
2015 on the album "To Pimp a Butterfly," which was infested with politically charged songs.
Kendrick Lamar is from Compton, California, which is where the song was originally released.
Living in Compton was tough, as it is one of America's toughest places to live. In Compton there is
a lot of killings and police brutality, in an attempt to gain control over the people. This rough
upbringing for Kendrick Lamar taught him a lot, and was influential in helping him understand how

Since the song was created in a digital studio, majority of the sounds were created by a computer
and synthesizer. Although there is a lack of instruments used, the saxophone provides the song with
an old feeling of jazz music. The drums used helped create a different feel from other rap and hip–
hop songs. "Alright" is a distinctive song that uses unique sounds, and these sounds improve the
overall mood of the song. The overall mood of the song is enhanced because the saxophone
resembles jazz music, which is a staple in Black society. Kendrick Lamar's vocal style reflects his
music and the political message in the song. Lamar's vocal style creates confidence and hope for a
better future in the Black community. The target audience in the song "Alright" by Kendrick Lamar

Mike was hoping for a miracle, but his family was not fortunate enough. All of Mike's family was
affected by what happened to Mike's mother, but Mike was affected the most undoubtedly.
Mike didn't do anything for three weeks straight. He layed in his bed, either listening to comedy
skits or jazz music in hopes to get his spirits up, or simply sleeping. Mike's father, David, called him
every day to make sure Mike was okay. Mike acted fine, but secretly he didn't tell his father that he
was fired from Round Table for not working for 2 weeks straight. Eventually, David worked the
courage to see his son in person and ask if he was alright.
"Hello, Mike," said David in a happy tone, with the hope of making Mike happy as well. Mike shot
up as he slept through the time when David entered his room.
"What the hell do you want, Dad?," said Mike in an agitated, yet sad tone.
"I just came here to make sure that you're alright. Have you been eating? Have you been taking care
of things?," asked David.
"No, dad. I'm sorry. I'm really not in the mood to do anything. Not since she died..." Mike attempted
to finish his thought, but he couldn't. His voice would not let him.
"It's alright, Mike. What happened to Mom has happened or will happen to almost everyone in the
world," said David in a relaxed tone, even though he himself is still saddened by the loss.
"No, it really isn't alright. That is my mother you're talking about. Maybe some handle death better
than me, but

The Kids Are Alright Film Essay
Storyline Overview The film, The Kids Are Alright (2010), is the story of an American family with a
non–traditional familial structure, where the parents are a lesbian couple, with two children
conceived through artificial insemination using one sperm donor. The parents, played by actresses
Annette Bening and Julianne Moore, confront the typical parental issues which arise with raising
teenage children. The film quickly sets the main plot of the movie with the curiosity of the son
named Laser, played by Josh Hutcherson, about his biological father. As such, Laser convinces his
eighteen year old sister Joni, played by Mia Wasikowska, to secretly make contact with their sperm
donor, which she does. The biological father named Paul, played by actor Mark Ruffalo, is
introduced as an easy–going ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nevertheless, the protagonist who is consistent throughout the film is the character of Nic. While
Nic is flawed, as are all of the film's characters, Nic's intentions seem to always come from a place
of deep care and concern for her family. Indeed, Nic exudes dominance, responsibility and integrity,
even though her delivery is not always as thoughtful or gentle as her wife's. In fact, throughout
much of the film, one might perceive Nic as being negative, or too harsh on her wife and children.
Yet, as the film progresses, it becomes clear that this is a misperception since Nic assumes the role
of the family disciplinarian, and in reality, her intentions are genuinely noble. The main goal of the
character of Nic is to provide a stable, loving, supportive environment for her family. By the same
token, Nic grapples with all of the stressors as the head of the household and family protector, which
is typically a role portrayed by males in film as part of the patriarchal hegemonic ideology.
Furthermore, Nic is determined to balance her work and personal life, and focus on being the best
wife and mother she can

Creative Writing: A Dysfunctional Narrative
She cocked her head to the side and looked at her mother, a small smile forming on the corners of
her lips. A small chuckle escaped her lips. "It just always seems like the day always sneaks up on
us."She stated in a playful voice. She was attempting to make a joke, something she wasn't very
good at. Not when it came to her mother, well not when she was trying to be funny. Gothel often
laughed at the things Rapunzel said when she wasn't trying to be funny. She nodded her head in
agreement with her mother. She was forgetful when it came to this time of the month, if it wasn't for
Gothel she would forget about it. She always seemed to put the procedure in the furthest part of her

Once the bandage was placed on her arm, she pulled it back towards her body. Wiggling her fingers
a little as she did. She was thankful that the drawing of her blood was done. Now all she had to look
forward to was tomorrow morning. She took in a deep breath, shaking her head from side to side.
'No time to start worrying about it now, soon enough you will be outside' she told herself. "Alright."
She spoke in a soft voice, her head tilting off to the side. Crossing her arms in front of herself she
began thinking about what she would like to have for dinner. "Let's see..." She tapped her index
finger against her arm. "I think I want to eat something with chicken tonight." She uncrossed her
arms, bring her attention back on her mother. "Do you think you can come up with a dish?" She

Victoria's Alright When He Never Goes Away
Victoria's alright for now but she knows Jonesy will be back soon, he never goes away for long.
What will he want from her today? Will he make her laugh? Will he make her cry? Things never
used to be like this. When Victoria first met Jonesy he was everything she'd ever dreamed of. He
would comfort her, keep her warm, make all the problems of the world simply melt away. What
happened to those days? She finds herself thinking more often than not of now. At first, Victoria
figured that her and Jonesy would conquer the world together, it had seemed that way. She was sure
the two of them would reach new heights like she'd never felt before, there was nothing they
couldn't do together. But that was all before Jonesy changed. Now nothing seemed ... Show more

Victoria was different back then just like Jonesy was. Youthful, pretty, full of energy and always fun
to be around. Not the wacked–out, aged hag she stares at in the mirror every morning. She should
probably start getting herself cleaned up for Jonesy. When he gets here he'll want her looking her
best, he always does. Not for him anymore, but for the countless slobs he'll send her out to please
tonight. He'll kill her if she doesn't earn for him. Victoria wonders just how many naïve, stupid girls
he's done this to? How many others will he visit today, she knows she can't be the only one. He's
close now, she can feel herself beginning to sweat as he draws near, she can feel herself beginning to
tremble. Victoria loved him, the love of her lifetime turned into a tragedy. But, that's all this love can
last for, a lifetime. She knows that now. She knows what she has to do. Through trembling hands she
cooks up her plan for Jonesy. At first he'll like it, he'll love it, she know that. She prepares herself
and for the first time in years she feels at peace fall over her for what it is she's about to do. Jonesy's
here, he sees her, he knows, but it's already too late. His power over her has dissipated,

Ethical Issues In The Movie The Kids Are Alright

  • 1. Ethical Issues In The Movie The Kids Are Alright Same–sex parenting and invitro fertilization (IVF) donor privacy are the two main ethical dilemmas presented by the 2010 movie "The Kids are Alright". Several other problems crop up throughout the movie, which is also ethical decisions. With personal IVF experience, this movie seemed to be a logical choice, however, the only real similarity is the daily struggles raising teenagers. The real theme of the movie should be the unintended consequence life presents when decision–making is poor or non–existent. A movie summary, followed by a few of the literary reviews, sets the stage for the director's intentions and a summary of the stereotypes portrayed. Ethical leadership does find its way into the movie, but not from the expected source. Finally, a discussion about the movie's effect on culture and my outlook on several of the ethical issues come to the same conclusion, the kids are alright. Movie Synopsis This movie presents a non–traditional family with very traditional issues of loyalty, fidelity, honesty, teens pushing limits and parents struggling to find common ground. Joni (18) and Laser (15) were both conceived by (IVF) from one sperm donor, the twist is their mothers are a lesbian couple, which Joni calls the moms. Nic is an Ob–gyn doctor and Jules, the homemaker, is starting landscape design business, both are struggling with the fact that Joni is leaving for college in the fall. Laser, the only male, appears to be missing an actual male father even though Nic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. It's Alright Officer By Jimmy Wells In any story there is a central message or theme as the main idea. This story happens to have many themes conveyed by the way it's told. One of the themes in this story is that a promise must be kept. Another is the need to fulfill responsibilities despite the choices one makes in life. In this story many key and eventful literature are present. In the beginning of the story dialogue is exchanged in between a police officer with a waiting "Bob". The main character starts to act somewhat annoyed or rattled to the officer's presence with the remark "It's alright officer". As the conversation continues the officer becomes more curious about Bob's previous whereabouts and his life before now. From here we can question why the officer was so interested in the story of the character. It was possible that he was simply a convict planning to steal something or waiting for a gang of suspects to go cause complications. However, after a long chat with the waiting man, the officer excuses himself from the scene to do anything. Later on the same man is introduced into tall man in a coat, who he assumes is his long departed friend Jimmy Wells. The man is later revealed to be another officer or official to ... Instead of revealing himself to his friend, Jimmy takes himself back to the station and gets someone else to rendezvous with his friend and turn him in. At the end of the day responsibility is very important. Not only did Jimmy keep his word, but he also realized that he had a job to do despite the fact that he would hurt his friend in the ... • 7. Social Issues In Kendrick Lamar's 'Alright' Through songs many people express their feelings of the world threw the words they have wrote. Many songs talk about civil rights of the people and how change should be an option. In the world we live in today we have social issues that people have to face such as: police brutality, racial profiling, discrimination etc. Through Kendrick Lamar, Public Enemy, The Game, Bebe Winans, and N.W.A they will use their voice as a weapon for change among all people. Music with a message thrives in a live setting, for obvious reasons, and many politically conscious musicians aim to channel the heightened emotions Kendrick Lamar's song "Alright" talks about race and how African Americans are being targeted and profiled. The song tells about the gun violence and police brutality that is effecting our community, "And we hate Popo, wanna kill us dead in the street for sure, n..." (Line 35). This quote out of his song is significant because in the world we live in someone gets killed every day for the color of their skin color or a profile that someone made off assumptions. As the song goes he tell about how African Americans were discriminated. "When you know, we been hurt, been down before, n... / When our pride was low, lookin' at the world like, "where do we go, n...?"' (Line 33–34). Throughout the years African Americans are looked down on to the point where they do not know what their purpose is. For some, living in a world where people do not want them there hurts the pride of people. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Analysis Of The Poem ' The Blacker The Berry ' And '... To many Kendrick Lamar is just another west coast rapper; and to a diehard group of fans he is the king of west coast rap. But on the night of the 2016 Grammy awards, as he limped on stage, chained to his backup dancers, Kendrick suddenly became more than just a rapper. His six minute performance of "The Blacker the Berry" and "Alright" from his hit album To Pimp a Butterfly was captivating, electrifying and so powerful it had him trending on Twitter for days to follow. This reaction was the result of shock and praise as mainstream America was introduced to the unapologetic blackness of Kendrick's art. Broadcasted on a network television station, the awards show presented the perfect platform and opportunity for Kendrick to reach out to beyond his usual fan–base. As all great artists do, Kendrick realized the rarity of the chance he was given and how he could use the moment to do more than just display his talents as a rapper. His performance gloried in its afrocentrism, with its medley of hip–hop, jazz, traditional African costumes and dance. But the message in the lyrics Kendrick rapped, spoke of a uniquely American issue: the high rates of police brutality against black men in the United States. One thing that is true is that rap music has a negative reputation among the mainstream audience because of its heavy references to gang violence, drugs, money, misogyny, sex, etc. Another truth is that rap music has been historically considered a large part of black culture. ... The 's Alright, Because I Love The Way You Lie Essay That's Alright, Because I Love the Way you Lie "Oh," cried Lizzie, "Laura, Laura, / You should not peep at goblin men." / Lizzie cover'd up her eyes, / Cover'd close lest they should look; / Laura rear'd her glossy head, / And whisper'd like the restless brook: / "Look, Lizzie, look, Lizzie, / Down the glen tramp little men. / One hauls a basket, / One bears a plate, / One lugs a golden dish / Of many pounds weight. / How fair the vine must grow / Whose grapes are so luscious; / How warm the wind must blow / Through those fruit bushes." / "No," said Lizzie, "No, no, no; / Their offers should not charm us, / Their evil gifts would harm us." / She thrust a dimpled finger / In each ear, shut eyes and ran: / Curious Laura chose to linger/ Wondering at each merchant man. / One had a cat's face, / One whisk'd a tail, / One tramp'd at a rat's pace, / One crawl'd like a snail, / One like a wombat prowl'd obtuse and furry, / One like a ratel tumbled hurry skurry. / She heard a voice like voice of doves / Cooing all together: / They sounded kind and full of loves / In the pleasant weather. My First Year In High School Have you ever looked up from whatever you were doing and see the girl that you want to spend your whole life with, the girl who shares some characteristics with you, who is looking right at you, but you are too scared to say or do anything? It was autumn and the air was cold and crisp. "The bell just rang Kotaro! Let's go, don't want to be late to class on the first day of school!" Yama said with excitement in his voice. "I'll be right there!" I said as I packed my belongings into my backpack. This is my third year in high school, and next year is my last, so I have to make these days count. As I walked towards the school entrance, leaves were blown into the air by the wind and the smell of oak wood trees filled my lungs. There were students everywhere enlightened to get to class; the sound of autumn leaves crackling when students stepped on them made a very satisfying sound to new. I could still taste the flavour of my peanut butter sandwich that I had this morning for breakfast; It was quite cold out, so I had my hands inside my pocket, gasping for warmness. "Hey Yama! I'm here, let's head to class now." I said. "Yeah Kotaro, I'm so happy that we have our first class together!" Yama said excitedly. "Yes, I'm happy for us too!" My sophomore and freshmen ear consisted of mostly C's and D's because I put too much time into my novels. I'm a very quiet person, and Yama is like my only friend, but I plan to make more friends this year. I often think about my future but can't express it to anyone but Yama because I'm a very shy person. "Classroom number 46, history. We're here Kotaro! Let's see who our teacher is and meet our classmates." Yama said as we stepped into the classroom. There were two empty seats in the front of the class, so that's where we decided to sit. Our teacher is a girl and her name is Ms. Azumi. She made me and Yama introduce ourselves and so we did. "Salutations, my name is Kotaro and I'm a junior." I said shyly. "Goodmorning, my name is Yama and I'm a junior as well!" He said loudly and happily. After school ended, I waved goodbye to Yama as he walked home. • 17. Song Analysis : Alright By Kendrick Lamar In "Alright" Kendrick Lamar is speaking to the public about police brutality, or is he sending a deeper message to the people of minority. Kendrick Lamar released the song titled "Alright" in 2015. Upon release the song instantly blew up. It 's catchy and even though people got tongue tied trying to recite the song everyone knew the hook of the song which stated "We gon be alright do you hear me do you feel me we gon be alright." I wonder did anyone catch the poetic verses Kendrick was saying before the hook. By simply watching the video you instantly think oh police brutality but I recieved a deeper message. I believe Kendrick wanted the song to inform the public about the brutality that seemed to be continuous at the time; and offer a bit of hope to those who didn't feel there was any. That's why the song was so famous, Kendrick performed this song on numerous award shows and talk shows because the people needed to hear it. Though some believe the song is in protest against cops or sending a bad message others believe it is an anthem for african americans. I do believe that Kendrick targeted the African American population with the song but the song could be for all races and minorities. I don't think the song excluded anyone. Police brutality can happen to any race and it has happened to just about every race. African Americans just have been the most talked about and more frequently abused lately. The Kids Really Are Alright The Kids Really are Alright This class began with the discussion of what exactly the definition of family is, soon we came to find that family is comprised of many different components to which there is no one all– encompassing definition. The Kids are Alright depicts just one aspect of our widening definition of family. This is a traditional two–parent household, comprised of lesbians, both referred to as mother and their two children, which are half–siblings. The mothers enlisted alternative methods, artificial insemination from a common donor, in order to have two children which shared common genes. They are 'Her Big Chance' involving Lesley an actress, 'Bed Among the Lentils' with Susan, a vicars wife and 'A Chip in the Sugar' including Graham who still lives with his mother. In this essay I am going to discuss how contemporary society is portrayed in all three. There are many different issues in our society which are raised in talking heads, for example: religion, ageism and sexuality. Sexuality Sexuality is involved in all three monologues, but more in Graham's. All throughout 'A Chip in the Sugar' there is suspicion that Graham is gay. An example of ... There is also very little sexuality included in Susan's monologue. Geoffrey, her husband has just finished a sermon on sex, and she has over heard Miss Budd and Miss Bantock's discussion. "Not to mention whatever shamefaced fumblings go on between Miss Budd and Miss Bantock. "It's alright if we offer it to God, Alice" "well if you say so Pauline." Here Susan is implying that they are lesbians. Religion Religion is quite important part of the monologue 'Bed Among the Lentils' as Susan, the main characters husband is a vicar. I think that the whole thing briefly suggests that in our time not as many people have such strong beliefs as they did 50 years ago. This can be seen in a lot of sarcastic remarks which Susan makes. "So Geoffrey concludes, when we put our money in the plate it is a symbol of everything in our lives we are offering to God and that includes our sex. I could only find 10p" This is saying that she doesn't think much of her sex life and also shows how weak her beliefs in God are. Right off that bat we find out that Judas and Jesus use to be very close but that Judas no longer agrees with Jesus or likes what it is he is doing. This can very easily be related to anyone who has ever had disagreements with a friend or family member and, because of their differences, were no longer able to have a healthy relationship with each other. Conducting this sort of action can be both right or wrong. It depends on the reason and how the person would go against the government. It could be a revolt against the government or just a simple protest to change a law. Every single person in the United States has the ability and right to speak out. It is appropriate to go against the government, but only under certain circumstances. First, it is not appropriate to go against the government if any destruction of property is done. The law stated that all blacks were required to give up their seat for a person who was white. This practically made all African Americans lesser than a human being. This collection first aired on July 21, 2014 and it consist of ambient electronic artists, who are known for creating sonic landscapes with their music. The first song of the playlist was called Almost Alright by Noveller. Noveller is an artist who plays her own music and tries to explore the different uses and sounds that can come out of a single guitar. She uses the different sounds to create unique textures in her work. The song started off with a periodicity of chords, which sounded like notes from a scale. I could not recognize which one but I could hear the descending of the pitches. Then there was an undertone note that was consistent. The song overall was slow but it contradicted the typical sounds of an electric guitar. I kept expecting for the music to speed up, but it didn't. The artists instead played with the length of sustainment in each note. I thought it was interesting to hear how long a note could last and how it created a constant interval with the melody. This idea gave the piece more texture within the vertical organization. This piece of music was written in a 4/4. The constant repetition made it easy to notice the time signature. In this listening activity and song, I realized just how interesting the timbre of an electric guitar is. With each pluck of the strings I noticed the vibrations of each pitch and how they sounded when they were being ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I spent time looking back on my trip thus far which happens when you're all alone on the world's largest mountain. I realized that I might not be the sole survivor. When my team members ran into their tents, they might have been getting their avalanche packs. An avalanche pack is basically the climbing equivalent to an airbag. If you get caught in an avalanche, you deploy it and it can prevent you from sinking into the avalanche. My mom told me to buy one before I left for Everest, but those packs can be over a thousand dollars, there was no way I was going to spend that kind of money on something I probably wouldn't use. Clearly my mom was right because if I had a pack I wouldn't have been trapped in the avalanche in the first place which could have been the case for my team who all probably think I'm dead right now. After my little reflection on how my unpreparedness almost killed me and could still end up killing me, I began the day's hike. At around 7:00 at night I decided to camp for the night. I setup my tent and went to sleep. DAY 12 Oh my God I think this might be it I don't see how in God's name I am supposed to get out of this. How was I such an idiot why didn't I think about this? My mother said quickly as ever after a huge embrace and sigh of relief. I just walked through the door of my townhouse in Alexandria. Today is September 11, 2001. What started out as a normal day turned into one of the most tragic days in American history after I got to school. "Yes mother, I am fine. Where's dad!?" I asked intently. You see, my father works for the US Department of Defense and he had been there, in the pentagon, when the crash took place. "Your father is in the hospital..." "Are you serious!? What happened?" He looked like he had gotten in a fight with an angry stray cat! He had cuts on his face and arms, scratches on his leg, and his head was covered in a huge bruise that spanned from his left eyebrow passed his hairline. He had an IV hooked up to his wrist and an oxygen tube set up to his nostrils. I had never seen him like this before. I couldn't express how I felt into words. I have always been a slow reader and don't comprehend what I read. Also I have been a generally decent writer, but my grammar isn't very high. In elementary school, I was in the reading help classes and I don't think they helped much, I am still behind my grade level. After High School, I want to find a job, move out, and find a decent house. I will probably work at a care home or something like that. I would like to go straight into the workforce, school is not my thing. The kids are annoying and immature, the teachers generally aren't my biggest fan, besides a select few I actually do like. I have always loved to work and have had jobs since I was 14. I have thought about the military but I would not enjoy being away from home for a long period of time so I figured that is a bad choice. I think about it more and more each day and the being away from home might not be so bad, but I still don't think I could do it. I do plan on staying in the Alpena area as I grow up, start a family and all the good things. I have been through my dad's kidney failure, my brother's bladder cancer, and now my hyperthyroidism and I have learned that life is too short to be doing things I don't want to do. Conflict management has to do with everything that we do in our everyday life. It is so important that everyone should learn about it. We learned in class that there are five conflict styles, according to Kilmann conflict mode instrument, the styles depends on assertiveness and cooperativeness. There's no wrong or right style, and it always depends on the person and on the situation. So in this paper I'm going to explain the 5 conflict styles and what I think about them. First of all, and most important one, the one I always use and the one I scored highest in the survey is compromising, what I love about compromising is it's so easy to convince the other person and in the same time no one has to lose a lot. It's in the middle between cooperativeness and assertiveness. For example, in my freshmen year I used to live in campus with a roommate, at first my roommate used to ask to take some of my food and I never say no, so week after week my friend started to take stuff without asking and he thought that was alright, It wasn't. so I went and talked to him about it he denied it, then he said 'ooh I thought it was mine', I knew he was lying but I didn't care because I knew that I'm going to move out soon, so the solution we ended up having is to have half of the fridge for him and the other half for me, it worked for two months then I moved out. The second style I'm going to talk ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Analysis Of Lee 's ' We Gon ' Be Alright During the Civil Rights Era from 1954–1968, leaders like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, Bayard Rustin and many others utilized the strength of voice to empower the people they were representing. When they stood up to speak, their reason for speaking was not to make others change their minds, but instead, to encourage and inspire those who already believed in their cause and shared their hardships. Fast forward to today, and the same methods are being used. In Jeff Chang's book, "We Gon' Be Alright", he is constantly using examples and stories as the evidence to back up his ideas and his perspective. While most people think the reason for that is to change the reader's way of thinking, Chang doesn't try to persuade anyone. His ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Chang realized that there are people who get their information from their TV's, phones and tablets. So they may be led on to believe that the point of the use of the term "hands up" during protest was solely about Michael Brown, when in fact it was about the longstanding history of racial injustice in the U.S. The mainstream media doesn't always tell the true story, and using TV as a source can distract people from the actual issues on hand. Rather than debating about why a movement is using a certain term during their protest, the debate should be over why race–based crimes are so frequent. Another example of Chang calling out media bias is on page 113, where he describes the night when a young man named VonDerrit Myers was shot down in an interaction with a police officer during a "pedestrian check". According to the police, Myers had a gun and was killed in a one on one gunfight with the officer (Chang, 113), however, that wasn't the end of the story. "They [the police] noted Myers had been wearing a GPS ankle bracelet–– a consequence of being out on bail for recent charges of unlawful use of a weapon and resisting arrest. The media was fed Instagram photos of Myers posing with guns," (113). Because the media was filled with pictures of Myers with guns, people who didn't know all the details of the situation formed opinions on it based on something that isn't even relevant to what the real problem is.
