PLOT SUMMARY
The movie "Schindler's list" is a compelling, real–life depiction of the events that occurred during
the 1940's. It illustrates the persecution and horrific killings of the Jewish people. It also
exemplifies the hope and will of the Jewish people, which undoubtedly is a factor in the survival of
their race. The most important factor however is because of the willingness of one man, Oskar
Schindler, to stand out and make a difference.
The movie starts out in a Jewish home, where a Jewish family is celebrating the Sabbath. Candles
are lit while songs are sung, and when the Jews leave the house, the candles slowly burn out. The

Days after everyone returns to work, the sick Jews are separated from the healthy ones. Women
pricked their fingers and rubbed blood on their faces in order to be healthier looking. The weak and
old Jews are killed to make room for new shipments of Jewish workers. The children are placed on
trucks and sent away.
The next scene in the film is Schindler's birthday. A few workers from the factory bring Schindler a
birthday present and in turn he kisses one of the young Jewish girls, which broke the Race and
Resettlement Act. Goeth and Oskar discuss what happened at the party and Schindler apologizes.
In April 1944, Goeth receives orders to unearth and burn more than 10,000 Jews that were killed
at Plaszow and Krakow. The living Jews are forced to do this. Another order is received to move
all of the Jews to a new camp to avoid the Russians. Schindler creates a plan; he digs deep into his
ever decreasing finances and builds a new factory. He bargains with Goeth, and "buys" all of the
Jewish workers he needs to run his factory. He draws up a list, later to be known as "Schindler's
List", which includes more than 1,100 men, women, and children. Despite a mix–up, in which the
train transporting the women are delayed at Auschwitz rather then Schindler's factory, all of the
people arrive safely.

which is stilled believed to be an accomplishment. Spielberg finds it to be a disappointment
because he wanted to save all the Jews and set them free from the whole racism.Spielberg gives an

By this time the war was almost over, so Schindler tookto the road like many other Nazi officials.
At his departure all his workers are present and they give him a paper with all their signatures
with a short letter in case he is captures by one of the allied powers. From there he starts to
breakdown saying that he could have saved more lives by selling his car and gold nazi pin. Soon
he gets into his car and starts to journey to another place. At the very end of the movie it shows all
the "Schindler Jews" and they all place a rose on his tomb.
I believe that the Holocaust should never happen again. This story, which was first told in a book
called " Schindler's ArK," had a great affect on me because it was so graphic and I will and hopefull
never see anything like it again for the rest of my life. For that reason it will also be a lasting one.

Schindlers list so we just watched the schindlers list. The movie in all was great. At the
beginning, I wasnt sure if I would get into it. I was wrong. I didnt really know what to think about
Oscar, I believe he was way different at the beginning of the movie. Defenitly had a different
perspective of him of first, he only really focused on himself and getting money. A bit selfish. I
think deep down he was a good man at heart. He defenitly dealed with things a lot better than
others did. The other man was horrible he had no empathy what so ever for other people. Not
even children. Sometimes there was no reason behind killing innocent people, he did it simply

On the way to schindlers camp, the men were getting water by breaking off icecles and melting
them into pots that they had with them. When the men arrived, schindler said that the women
werent there yet but should arrive at any moment. Little did he know that the cart with all the
women got sent to the wrong camp. When the women first got there you can tell they were all very
confused. They tried telling the soldiers but they didnt listen. All the women were forced to strip
there close off and go into these enclosed rooms. They all were terrified at first, which is

The word quicky spread that in the factory, no Jews died. Schindler was unaware of this fact until
on day, a young Jewish woman disguised herself, and asked Schindler to hire her parents who

was rejoicing when she saw her parents being transfered into his factory by German officials.

Schindler's disregard for the law showed to be a factor that led to his heroic deed.
Schindler broke the law by treating the Jewish people better than the Nazi's wanted them to be
treated. At one point, he even kissed a Jewish woman in front of several people. Since he never
really cared for the law, it was easy for Schindler to break the rules in order to ensure the safety of
Jewish people. Instead of aiding in the war effort, Schindler broke the machines in his factory so
that no bullets would be produced. Although breaking the law is often times looked down upon,
Schindler's actions turned out to be of the highest acceptability as this trait helped so many Jewish
people. Schindler definitely was not a man of many morals, but his flaws did indeed lead the way to
salvation.
Ultimately, Schindler's character flaws were the greatest factors in his saving of over a thousand
Jewish lives. Without his tendencies to drink, self indulge, and disrespect the law, those lives may

turning point of the movie, Schindler, on top of a barren hill, traces the path of a young and
helpless Jewish girl who wanders haphazardly through the streets of a devastated camp. Her lone

way, aimless and alone, past the madness and chaos in the street – a woman is machine–gunned
behind her. He loses sight of the small figure as she walks behind a building, but then he glimpses

soldier fires at a single–file lineup of men, killing five with one bullet. Distressed and stricken by
the nightmare below and the plight of the little girl in red, Schindler sees her entering one of the
empty apartment buildings. There, she climbs the stairs and crawls under a bed for cover in a
ransacked room. Her safety is only temporary, for later she will be hunted down and cold–heartedly
