3. These are the most popular movies of 2014. Most of them
are of thriller genre, however none of them have the
same type of storyline or sub-genre as our opening
sequence. Our sub-genres are not very popular, I have not
found many in the top 100 that I looked. The main
popular genres are sci fi, adventure and action. Our movie
will have a lot of action but the main genre is disaster.
This genre has died down, it used to be popular but if we
work hard enough we may be able to bring it back. We
have a very good advantage that could make it work. We
have the recent outbreak of the Ebola disease, we could
use this fear of the public to draw them in. People will be
attracted to the storyline as it will be based off something
real. The very popular film 2012 used the same
technique. The producers of the film used the public fear
of the world ending and created a film that would show
the public what may happen. We hope that we could do
the same thing here.

5. Popular releases Guildford
These are the popular films viewed in Guildford. These are very mainstream, latest and popular fims
out at the moment. Comedy is the most popular genre in Guildford at the moment because it is a very
happy moment for every. Christmas has just gone and the a new year has started and most people are
in the mood for comedy.
6. Popular releases Woking
These are the popular films in Woking. It is different to Guildford. In Woking there are
more of a range of genres that are popular. Drama is very popular in Woking at the
moment however there are lots of different types of genres that are also popular.

In the BFI London Film Festival they view all the latest film
releases. At the moment the most popular genres are Drama and
Biography. There are a couple of thrillers out for example The
Imitation Game. This could be a perfect opportunity to make our
film popular because at the end they give out awards. If our film is
liked then the word will spread and if we win the award the film
would be more respected.

called Dermaphoria. Judging by the trailer it
looks similar to what our film would be and this
film festival looks like it would suit to view it.
11. Reading Film Theatre was
established over 40 years ago as
an independent cinema with a
policy to show the best films
from around the world. RFT hires
the largest auditorium from the
University on a regular basis,
using its own equipment and
employing RFT staff, most of
whom are volunteers. The
cinema is open to everyone, and
being based on a university
campus, it screens films only
during term time.

As the Reading Film Theatre
is based on a university it
gives us an advantage
because one of our main
target audiences are young
adults such as uni students.
Another advantage is that
there thrillers are popular in
this theatre and will allow
our film to fit in.
