Warp Films would be the best distributor for this film. As an independent film company, Warp Films allows films to be shot in local areas, saving money compared to larger studios. Warp Films also attracts an audience interested in similar unconventional storylines and bizarre plots, meaning the audience could better appreciate and enjoy this film. Distributing with a larger conglomerate may not reach the right audience for this restricted film or earn enough profit to avoid the film being labeled a failure.

2. Warp films
Warp Films is an independent film and television company based in Sheffield
and London. They are known for films such as This is England, Submarine
and Four Lions. Yet despite these becoming more mainstream films, the
company produces more unconventional films with bizarre/absurd story
lines.

3. Why not any other distributor?
We decided that any other conglomerated distributor wouldn’t be suited for
our film is because it has a restricted audience age range as well as this, it
might not appeal to many who go to the cinema or stream online due to
there being less hype around the film therefore may people wouldn’t be
interested in watching. Additionally, if the film does bad, these larger
companies such as Warner Brothers and Sony would make less profit
resulting in the film being labelled as ‘bad’ which would once again lead to
less interest in the film.

4. Why we decided to choose warp
films
We decided that Warp Films would be the best option for distributing
our film. One of our main reasons for deciding this is because it is an
independent film company which means we are able to film in more
local areas (which saves us money from not having to travel as far).
As well as this, we believed that our film would be better suited to this
distributor as they attract an audience that are interested in similar
storylines amongst films which allows them to enjoy the film more.
