Over the course of this semester, I was introduced to many people, ideas, writings, and discussions
that sparked my interest and enlightened me on African American history. However, I feel like this

Bancroft believed that Anglo–Saxons were racially destined to lead and spread freedom across the
globe. With the establishment of John Hopkins University, college education became more common
among middle–class Americans, however only wealthy white men still only had access to that kind
of education. This new wave of historians insisted that knowledge of history and physics were of
equal importance.
The final stage of American history and progression according to Couvares, was the professional
stage. Professional scholars rose to prominence from 1910–1945. These historians believed that
modernity, industrialization, urbanization, and class conflict had fundamentally changed society.

liberty and order, but a clique of wealthy merchants and landowners who wanted a central

Williams and I walked to an empty classroom in which the interview was held and I began to ask
him the questions I had written up earlier that week. I started off with a number of questions mainly

I have been studying Chinese history for a long time, but the interesting phenomenon is in 5000–
year history of China, there is only one formal empress called Wu Zetian, and the amounts of
emperors are four hundred and eight. The percentage of women to be a leader of China is 0.25%.
Nowadays, Hilary Clinton has been reported by all the newspaper and TV shows, because she is the
only woman who has possibility to be the first female president. Comparing Chinese history and
American history, it is rare to see that the women become the decision maker of the country. Also

After looking at these information, there are some questions suddenly popped in my head about
women in leadership. Why women have lower percentage of being a leader than man? Can women
achieve true equality?
Depending on the research, of all the people in parliament in the world, 13 percent are women. In
the corporate sector, women at the top, C–level jobs, board seats –– tops out at 15, 16 percent. The
