Animals In Captivity Research Paper
Animals in Captivity
Zoos have been around for many years, the first one opening on July 1, 1987 in Philadelphia, USA.
Although the quality of zoos has changed and developed over the many years since then, some people
believe that the zoos shouldn t exist, including organisations that strive to close down zoos and return
the animals back to their natural habitat.
Even though some zoos have billions invested into them they will never really be able to compete with
an animal s natural habitat. Zoos attempt to replicate an animal s natural habitat but in reality all they
re doing is subjecting the animals to a life in captivity where they re unable to perform most of their
natural instincts, such as hunting, flying, foraging and even choosing their own partner. Increasing
numbers of zoos are using breeding programmes in an attempt to avoid the extinction of various
animals, but the problem behind this is that the animals who are being bred do not get to choose their
own mate and under some circumstances needed to be artificially inseminated. ... Show more content

Zoochosis is where an animal, in captivity, begins to become stressed or uncomfortable with the
environment that they are subjected to. This can cause the animal to become unwell with zoochosis;
the symptoms of zoochosis can include bar biting, coprophagia which is where an animal consumes
and is playing with excrement, self mutilation such as the animals pulling their own fur out, scratching
themselves or causing themselves pain and injury, swaying, rocking and pacing. These are some of the
most common symptoms of zoochosis and this happens simply because the animal is in captivity and
they re unable to express themselves in the way they would usually be able to, if they were in their

John Oliver Persuasive Speech
Last Week Tonight is a news/satire program hosted by John Oliver. During the program, Oliver
discusses current events and attempts to persuade the general audience in his viewing. In the episode
The NCAA, Oliver talks about the NCAA with a thesis of unfairly compensated student athletes
deserving more than what universities provide. This essay will analyze the effectiveness of his
persuasive methods towards his arguments. In this episode, Oliver uses evidence to back up a majority
of his statements in his attempt to persuade the audience. Evidence portrayal occasionally included
comedic arguments to support Oliver s agenda. This technique is shown when Oliver uses footage of
sponsorships of an NCAA basketball tournament dubbed March Madness, ... Show more content on

Although it provides no support through logic or emotion, confidence can create credibility from the
audience about a subject if the speaker can appear he knows what he is saying. Oliver has delivery
techniques to create confidence. An example used would be his deliverance of how he speaks. He
appears confident and is coherent in his voice and body language as he presents his warrants and
backings. Also, Oliver is a celebrity who gets paid to provide arguments on current news, therefore
giving the viewers more credibility to what he says. Lack of confidence would cause the speaker to
appear similar to having no idea what he is talking about, and Oliver shows the confidence required to
properly talk about the

Research Questions On Nursing Practice
The aim of this paper is to formulate a PICOT question and describe how important this research
question is to nursing practice. It will include a summary of five research articles related to my PICOT
question and identify a nursing practice that is supported by current research. The paper will also
explain how a nursing practice that is supported by evidence based practice can contribute to better
outcomes. Lastly, I will share a strategy to share evidence based practice throughout my organization
and explain the importance of the practice.

Our organization uses benzodiazepines as the first choice for the treatment of AWS. Formulating a
PICOT question can help my organization find if evidence best practice supports the use of
benzodiazepines for the treatment of AWS. Therefore, I will introduce you my PICOT question which
is: In patients that are withdrawing from alcohol, what is the effect of benzodiazepines, compared to
other drugs in the treatment for AWS?
Evidence Based Practice The study by Amato, Minozzi and Davoli (2011) examined five randomized
controlled trials to find an efficient and safe medication to treat AWS. The study which had a total of
7333 patients concluded that benzodiazepines were better for controlling seizures when compared to a
placebo and antipsychotics (Amato et al., 2011). When comparing benzodiazepines versus
anticonvulsants, researchers concluded that the benzodiazepine chlordiazepoxide had better outcomes.
No other studies were found which would compare the effectiveness among benzodiazepines for the
treatment of AWS. The study by Askgaard, Hallas, Fink Jensen, Molander, Madsen, and Pottegard
(2016) compared how effective the antipsychotic phenobarbital is when compared to the
benzodiazepine chlordiazepoxide. The study involved a total of 2428 patients who had AWS; 1063
patients were treated with chlordiazepoxide, and 1365 patients were treated with phenobarbital
(Askgaard et al., 2016). Researchers

Billy Elliot Diversity
Billy Elliot, directed by Stephen Daldry, is a coming of age film, filmed in the year 2000. It was set in
the year 1984. The film was set in the North of England, in a village called Everington. The director
made sure that the movie did not go off course and stayed relevant to the time period of the 1980s. I
found that the language presented in the film, was relevant to the time period and the labeling or
stereotyping used was very appropriate to the 1980s period. This was because people were only
coming to terms with the change and the diversity of men being gay or females being lesbian. The
four aspects covered in this essay will be on, Billy Elliot and his relationship with his father. The
relationship between Billy Elliot and Mrs. Wilkinson. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the movie, Billy was not seen as a normal eleven year old boy just because he enjoyed ballet. In the
1980 s gender diversity was not accepted as much as it is now. When he did ballet, Billy s class was
full of female students which were seen as normal and boys were not expected to do any female
activities. Billy did not mind joining the class and he actually enjoyed it. Billy was not very good at
dancing but he eventually found a passion and a fire within him to want to do ballet. One of the
problems that Billy faced was to actually learn how to dance. His body had never had to have been
controlled and every movement in ballet was controlled and precise. Another obstacle was that he had
to deal with the abuse and disgrace from Jackie and Tony who were worried that Billy would have
been seen as a poof . Jackie and Tony were disgusted when they heard Billy wanted to become a
professional ballet dancer. This made Billy more determined to achieve his dream, not just to prove
his family wrong, but other people who thought that boys shouldn t dance. Billy wanted it so much
that he would practice in secret. The biggest goal was that he had to prove not just to himself but also
to Mrs. Wilkinson that he had the passion to make ballet a lifetime career and the willingness to learn
to join the Royal Ballet

Hospital Management Information Management System
Objective At present the health care system of Bangladesh faces major challenges. We are unable to
provide even primary medical care to our people let alone secondary and tertiary medical care. The
current scenario of information flow in most of the hospital in Bangladesh presents a paper based,
time consuming, inefficient system leading to problems of inefficient utilization of resources and
problems to patients. All these problems and poor coordination are closely connected to our failure to
use health information technology as an integral part of medical care. Not only that we face
difficulties in retaining specialists in non urban areas. The distribution of specialists in Bangladesh is
indeed lopsided. With these problems in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
3. Existing Scenario in Most of the Hospitals in Bangladesh Providing medical care to citizens is the
constitutional obligation of the government of Bangladesh. The constitution of Bangladesh mandates
that, It shall be a fundamental responsibility of the state to attain, through planned economic growth, a
constant increase of productive forces and a steady increase in the material and cultural standard of
living of the people, with a view to securing to its citizens (a) the provision of basic necessities of life,
including food, clothing, shelter, education and medical care. [1] But the present situation is far away
form what is written in the constitution. Bangladesh, a least developed country, with an infant
mortality rate of 6.5 per cent, 75 per cent child birth without trained attendant, 90 per cent children
with some malnutrition, prevalence of hypertension among 12 per cent of its population has posed a
major challenge to arrange efficient medical treatment for them at affordable cost. There is only one
hospital bed for 3151 people, one doctor for 4572 and one nurse for 8460 which is one of the lowest
ratios in the world. Per capita government expenditure is only 26 dollars whereas a country like
Maldives spends 220 dollars per citizen a year. [1] Current situation in most of the hospitals with
respect to access to health care is far from satisfactory. It is often assumed that the

Obesity And Its Effects On The United States
Obesity in the U.S. Today in the United States, obesity is the one of the leading causes of death in
adults and children. Obesity also leads to several chronic diseases such as diabetes and heart disease.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than one third (34.9% or 78.6
million) of U.S. adults are obese ( Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity ). This is such
a scary fact to know that more than a third of American s are obese. Obesity itself may impact our

The American society is being distracted by T.V advertisements, video testimonies, and fast food
companies who re encouraging individuals to consume fast food. This is an example of propaganda
and a technological control. Obesity itself may cost a significant amount of money in the U.S. in
addition to death. According to the article Food for Thought: Malnutrition and Obesity by D. J. Shaw,
he states that the CDC has estimated that about 280,000 Americans dies each year from being
overweight and also that obesity is costing the United States a whooping $240 Billion dollars in health

Instead of spending the money on whole foods, fruits, and vegetables, they re spending all hard earned

It launched for the first time on mission STS 1 on April 12, 1981, the first flight of the Space Shuttle
program. Over 22 years of service it completed 27 missions before disintegrating during re entry near

Approaches to Organisation and Management

APPROACHES TO ORGANISATION AND
MANAGEMENT
Organisational behaviour is a discursive subject and much has been written about it. The study of
organisations and management has therefore to proceed on a broad front. It is the comparative study of
the different approaches that will yield benefits to the manager. The study of organisations, their
structure and management is important for the manager. Identification of major trends in management
and organisational behaviour, and the work of leading writers, provide a perspective on concepts and
ideas discussed in more detail in other chapters.

However, the systematic development of management thinking is viewed, generally, as dating from
the end of the nineteenth century with the emergence of large industrial organ isations and the ensuing
problems associated with their structure and management.6 In order to help identify main trends in the
development of organisational behaviour and management theory, it is usual to categorise the work of
writers into various approaches , based on their views of organisations, their structure and
management. Although a rather simplistic process, it does provide a framework in which to help direct

Introduced Species In Australia
An introduced species is a species that has arrived a new habitat, outside of its native distributional

two main introduced species, the feral water buffaloes (Bubalus bubalis) and the European red foxes
(vulpes vulpes) which are both introduced into Australia in the 19th century. The consequences of the
introduction of these species and the way of management and recovery of the ecosystem are the main

Since the water buffaloes has caused such dramatic effect on the ecosystem and also spread the
disease in Kakadu national part, a extensive eradication program called Brucellosis and Tuberculosis
Eradication Campaign (BTEC) was initiated to reduce the population of water buffaloes (Jesser et al.
2008). This program was performed by aerial shooting from the helicopter. By then end of 1997, the
number of water buffaloes has reduced from around 20000 to only a few hundred left in the Kakadu
National Park. This sudden decline in water buffaloes numbers caused significant changes in
vegetation ground cover and biomass (Petty et al. 2007). However, weed (Mimosa pigra) control and
ongoing removal of buffaloes were required to rehabilitate the original ecosystem (Findlayson et al.
1997). The impact of buffaloes on ground level vegetation and soils in Kakadu National Park has
indirectly changed the living pattern such as the competitive relationships between plants and animals,
which, in turn, further altered the overall ecological structure of Kakadu. Thus, it was not enough to
revert the habitat to its previous state by simply removing the buffaloes. According to Petty and his
colleagues work in 2007, The impact of increase

causing a fatal car accident that took the lives of his fiancée and six others. He says, In seven days,
God created the world. And in seven seconds, I shattered mine. The number seven is a recurring
theme, but after further analyzing the film, its title alludes to The Merchant of Venice. In this
Shakespearean play, when a loan goes unpaid, a moneylender is entitled to a pound of the debtor s

Quality And Quality Of Health Care
Quality in health care is making sure that the patient that is being attended to, is receiving the right
care at the right time. Quality means different thing to different people. Some weigh quality on the
amount of time it takes for them to be seen. Some say it is the way that they are treated and spoken
too. Quality can also be measured by some by the amount of time that they spend with the physician.
Quality plays a major role in every occupation. It is extremely important in the health care field. In
health care you are dealing with individuals lives and their well being. The slightest mishap could
cause a patient their life and the livelihood of that medical facility. Imagine how bad it looks if a

healthcare is clinical and customer care. Clinical care measures how well, efficient, and safe of the

are more suffering from memory and mood disorders and impaired well functioning during daytime.

A community survey (Blader, Koplewicz, Abikoff, Foley, 1997) of 987 parents of elementary school
aged children reported the following problems related to children s sleep behaviors: Bedtime
resistance (27%), difficulty with morning wakening (17%), complaints of fatigue (17%), delayed sleep

Charles Lutwidge Dodgson
In Daresbury in 1832, Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, or better know as Lewis Carroll was born. He grew
up with several younger siblings who he told stories to, one of those being Alice in Wonderland . This
beautifully written story is about a ten year old girl named Alice who falls down a rabbit s hole into a
colorful world full of mad characters called Wonderland. England in 1865 has become part of the
victorian time period and along with it came many traits that set it apart. Throughout the piece, Carroll
challenges many traits of England s society and turns them into something that made this story so
unforgettable. Victorian etiquette, education for children, government, and drugs are just some of the

At the very ending of the book, the King and Queen of Hearts make everyone attend court over the
case of the missing tarts. Alice thought everything seemed very official with the jury box that held all
of the jurors with their slates, and the king as the judge with his white wig on. Eventually, Alice
discovers that the jury is writing the words Stupid things on their slates, and one of them does not
even spell the word stupid correctly (130 Carroll). This continues on with the witnesses, but between
every break the king calls for the verdict of the jury. This does relate to the time period because it was
rumored that when it came to the court system in the 1800 s, the witnesses never really mattered to the
judge. This rumor was reflected onto the King of Heart s character. Throughout the court case, Alice
begins to openly announce her thoughts to the courtroom. She criticizes the queen s decision to make
the sentence before the verdict, Stuff and nonsense! The idea of having the sentence first! (146). It is
thought that the Queen of Hearts actually symbolizes a real queen of England. Queen Margaret of
Anjou ruled from 1445 to 1461, and then again from 1470 to 1471. She was married to King Henry
VII and she had a son named Edward. She fought for the house of Lancaster which has a red rose for
its family name (Margaret). This does connect to the Queen of Hearts when her servants had to paint
the roses red. Why, the fact is, you see, Miss, this here ought to have been a red rose tree, and we put a
white one in by mistake; and, it the Queen was to find it out, we should all have our heads cut off, you
know. (90). The white roses were the symbol for the house of York, these two houses fought for the
right to the English throne in the War of the Roses. In the end of Queen Margaret s reign, her son was

Why Rumor Is Defined By The New York Stock Exchange
Rumor is defined by the Oxford English Dictionary as an unverified or unconfirmed statement or
report circulating in a community. In the financial community, rumors have an effect on the direction
of markets. The New York Stock Exchange in the United States is the epitome of how rumors can
impact trade. The fluctuation of stock and commodity (raw material) prices on a daily basis is, in part,
due to the daily news cycle. Although reports by news companies are supposed to be factual,
statements made can be unverified. Because of the large scale of social media, anyone can make up
rumors that can go viral. Stock traders rely on the news to determine what stocks they will buy or sell.
News reports include important information such as: new product developments, company
restructures, commodity reports, and scandals. Because of the rapid news, trading on the stock market
happens very fast and it gets chaotic. As the buyers and sellers interact their process sets the stock
price. The news effects the stock price because if a positive story circulates, there will be more buyers
for a stock, which will raise the stock price; if a negative story circulates, there will be fewer buyers,
which will lower the stock price. This constant process can either earn a big payday or be a total loss.
Because of the money that people stand to either make or loose, rumors have an effect on the way

SAT Testing Research Paper
SAT test preparation might not produce desired results if it does not teach you strategies to solve
problems in the right way. Most students who undergo SAT test preparation are pretty familiar with
the SAT test pattern. Being good at one of the sections does not guarantee a good SAT exam score. To
aid you in your SAT test preparation let me share with you a few strategies that I also use in my
tutoring.
Let us talk about the Math section first. The SAT test, according to many, carries complex math
problems. This is far from being true. Actually, SAT math consists of basic math questions. Unlike
many other tests, the SAT does not ask questions from pre calculus, calculus or trigonometry. This
does not at all mean that you would encounter

Eucalyptus Globulus Effect on the Germination of Radish...
The purpose of the project was to determine whether Eucalyptus globulus had an effect on the
germination of radish seeds. It was hypothesized that Eucalyptus globulus would have a negative
effect on the germination of the seeds and their growth.
Before a seed can germinate it must first shed the seed coat, a protective outer layer that protects the
seed from parasites, injury, and unfavorable temperatures. Inside the seed coat is the embryo which
contains the root and first leaves of the plant, called cotyledons. After the seed coat has been shed the
root emerges first so that it can absorb water and nutrients. After the roots have come out of the
embryo the cotyledons will follow. Some seeds need certain conditions to germinate and go ... Show

Allelopathic chemicals can also exist in soil, affecting the surround plants and those planted
afterwards. Studies have shown that Leucaena leucocephala, a tree promoted for water conservation
and revegetation, contains a toxic amino acid in its leaves and foliage that prevents the growth of other
trees but not its own seedlings. Research has also shown that this species reduces the yield of wheat
and increases the yield of rice. Other allelopathic plants include mango, box elder, broccoli, and
Eucalyptus. A study was conducted at Gomal University that tested the allelopathic effects of
Eucalyptus camaldulensis L. on the germination and seedling growth of wheat. The leaves of E.
camaldulensis trees were washed and dried and then filtered to create a one hundred percent solution
as well as ten percent, fifteen percent, and twenty percent. These solutions were tested on twelve
varieties of wheat. The results showed that there was a significant decrease in germination counts with
increasing levels of Eucalyptus aqueous extract concentration. All twelve varieties of wheat were
adversely affected by the twenty percent concentration of Eucalyptus extract. It was observed that
there was a direct relationship between the number of normal seedlings and the extract concentration.
The results suggested that the E. camaldulensis L. leaf aqueous extract could reduce normal seedlings
even in low concentrations.

oil. They reduce and increase the production as and when required. For instance, several million

The three major websites that affect the price of crude oil in the present global market are, New York

Influence of OPEC in Oil Production and Oil Prices:
In order to coordinate the oil production policies the ministers of the organization meet twice in a year.
They discuss about the methods to balance the supply and demand in the future. It is not necessary
that the member countries alter the production during the delegation of the meeting. There are

Law As A Member Of Congress Essay
Law in the United States is created by starting as an idea from many places including a Member of
Congress, a Members constituents, as well as the President of the United States or a private group. A
bill can also be introduced by placing it into the hopper during the active session of Congress. The
bills can be formed by either the Senate or the House of Representatives, except for bills for revenue
or appropriation which start in The House of Representatives. A bill will either be private
immigrations and naturalization, claims against the U.S., or public issues to do with the public.
Regardless of which house creates and presents the final proposed bill, the process they follow is
identical. The initial draft of the bill is written and the clerk will assign it a number proceeded by an S

The committee will review the bill and make any changes if necessary. It will then be scheduled for
presentation to the Senate or the House of Representatives for debate, amendments, and put up for

passes by a majority vote, at least 218 from the House of Representatives, and at least 51 from the
Senate, it then becomes an engrossed bill. Next the bill is presented to be voted by congress and if
approved by the majority vote, it is sent to the president where it is either signed and becomes a law,
or it is vetoed. If the President vetoes the bill it can still become a law if congress votes with 2/3 to

A Very Brief Biography of Bethoven
{Quote about Beethoven} According to musicologist Berry Cooper, Beethoven was born on
December 16, 1770 in Bonn, Germany, where his father was the Kapellmeister. His father, Johann,
was a respected tenor, violinist, and teacher of both the clavier and the piano. Although Beethoven is
not considered a child prodigy, Beethoven did start music at an early age. Around age three, he would
often sit on his father s lap and play has his father sang, and abandon his playmates to listen to his
father perform. Some historians believe that he started taking formal piano lessons at age five, a
normal age to start training in piano, from his father. Between the mix of Beethoven natural talent and
his father s pedagogical experience, Beethoven excelled quickly as a piano and violin player. It was
said that Beethoven s father was so intent on Beethoven s lessons, that he would often bring
Beethoven to tears. When he was seven, he made his public debut in Cologne, with two other of his
father s students, where he astounded the audience by the difficulty of music that was played.1 By
1779, his father could no longer teach the young composer and searched for other teachers. After
going through many teachers Beethoven found Christian Gottlob Neefe who was the first to allow him
to compose. In 1782, his first recorded work was a set of variations on a march by Ernst Christoph
Dressler. This was then arranged by Neefe and published. This work, even from such an early age

(2) Restriction fragment length polymorphisms (RFLP)
When utilizing PCR RFLP, a DNA fragment is first amplified by PCR, then it is digested by a certain
restriction endonuclease to generate a restriction polymorphic profile for the test subject species
(Shaw et al., 2002). PCR amplification should be highly conserved among a species so that it can be
easily amplified. Each fragment length is considered an allele, and RFLP occurs when the length of a
detected fragment varies between individuals.
(3) Random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD)
RAPD is effective in screening the differences in DNA sequences. The RAPD markers are also DNA

Fedex Express At The Fedex Corporation
In 1978, the FedEx Corporation sent out its annual report noting that Federal deregulation,
recapitalization, and public offering were credited as the impetus for record sales and earnings (FedEx
Corporation, 1978). At the close of the report, the chairman of the board credited the employees as the
most important factor in such favorable outcomes. Nearly 40 years later, the message and tone of the
FedEx Corporation (2015a) Annual Report was again boasting a transformative year, and crediting its
employees. But the success of FedEx Corporation, and specifically its air cargo and freight services
(known as FedEx Express), does not rely solely on the hard work of people. Instead, success is the
result of a vision, philosophy, approach, and perhaps simply some good fortune; all of which can be
found in closer look at the making of FedEx Express.
A Brief History of FedEx Express
In 1965, while attending Yale University as undergraduate student, a young Fred Smith submitted a
term paper detailing his vision of how the economic and logistical challenges facing delivery of time
sensitive shipments could be resolved using a simple, yet revolutionary, approach (Reichert, 2000). At
the time, air freight was primarily transported via air passenger flights. The thesis was that the
problem was air freight service being an add on to air passenger service, and the solution was to create
an air freight industry (Reichert, 2000). Although it was 50 years ago that Fred Smith received

What Does Trifles Mean
The true definition of the world trifle is something of very little value or importance. Trifles is a story
about a small group of people trying to solve the mystery of why a woman killed her husband. Two
women named Mrs. Peters and Mrs. Hale are helping the two men, the sheriff and the county attorney,
find Mrs. Wright s motive to kill her husband. The women begin to find small details that reveals
plenty of information that could be useful in the investigation of the murder. These small details that
the women find around Mrs. Wright s home are Trifles to the men. As Mrs. Peters and Mrs. Hale
search around the house, Mrs. Peters finds a birdcage in a cupboard. Mrs. Hale finds a dead bird
wrapped in a box with its neck broken, and in finding this, they come to the realization that Mrs.
Wright killed her husband because he killed her bird. The women know that Mrs. Wright s husband
did not enjoy her singing and he would never allow her to have a bird because it sang too.
While searching a cupboard for some sewing supplies to fix a poorly sewn quilt, Mrs. Hale finds a
birdcage tucked away inside of it. The birdcage that Mrs. Hale finds is the most symbolic object that
reveals the motive for the crime. A birdcage can be symbol of confinement or imprisonment. Mrs.
Hale says, No, Wright wouldn t like the bird a thing that sang. She used to sing. He killed that, too

Compare And Contrast Tom Brady And Peyton Manning
Tom Brady and Peyton Manning have become household names in the past decade or so, and for good
reason. Both of these quarterbacks have shown game in and game out that they are among the best to
ever play. Anyone that knows the slightest bit about American football will know exactly what
someone means when they talk about these two in the Hall of Fame discussion. So what makes these
two quarterbacks different? Well, there is not much. Throughout their storied careers, they have had to
overcome hardships, which only reiterates the point of their G.O.A.T. (Greatest of all time) status.
These players are similar in their play style and records, but are different due to the adversity and
hardships each player has had to overcome. The first and arguably most obvious similarity between
these two players is that they are two of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the position. Regardless
if you ask someone that dislikes either of these two, they will most likely agree that Brady and
Manning have become the face of the sport. When they take the field, they are unquestioned leaders
and will always give whatever it takes to push the team to success. Another glaring similarity between
these two quarterbacks is their athleticism and play style. Neither of these players were gifted with
speed. However, they more than make up for their lack of agility with their throws. Their
understanding of the game and the other team s defense allows them to make throws that would look

The Catholic Church s Teaching on Contraception
Tafadzwa Kushamba: Contraception
This week marks the forty sixth anniversary of Pope Paul VI s encyclical Humanae Vitae, a document
which clarified the Church s moral teaching on contraception. What is contraception? Contraception
is, any action which either before, at the moment of, or after sexual intercourse, is specifically
intended to prevent procreation whether as an end or as a means (Humanae Vitae 14). There are
various methods of contraception that temporarily or permanently sterilize a couple, thus making it
impossible to have children. Contraception destroys the union and love between couples. In this we
find that contraception violates God s plan of procreation. Contraceptives go against the gift of
fertility by treating pregnancy as a disease. The issue of contraception has drawn worldwide attention
with people divided on whether it is morally permissible to use any form of contraception. Society
views contraception as a development in the modern world that helps in the regulation of birth. We
find that many Catholics don t understand this issue and the Church s teaching on contraception has
been misunderstood. The Church makes it clear through Humane Vitae that any use of contraception is
morally wrong, for it violates the dignity of marriage and God s plan of procreation. It is our
understanding that marriage is a sacrament of love between two people, instituted by God, for the
whole purpose of continuing his plan of creation. Marriage is the foundation of

Essay On Henry Rifle
The original Henry rifle was a sixteen shot .44 caliber rimfire, lever action, breech loading rifle
patented by Benjamin Tyler Henry in 1860 after three years of design work.[1] The Henry was an
improved version of the earlier Volition Repeating Rifle. The Henry used copper (later brass) rimfire
cartridges with a 216 grain (14.0 gram, 0.490 ounce) bullet over 25 grains (1.6 g, 0.056 oz.) of
gunpowder. Production was very small (150 to 200 a month) until middle of 1864. Nine hundred were
manufactured between summer and October 1862; by 1864, production had peaked at 290 per month,
bringing the total to 8,000 manufactured.[2] By the time production ended in 1866, approximately
14,000 units had been manufactured. For a Civil War soldier, owning a Henry rifle was a point of
pride.[3] Letters home would call them Sixteen or Seventeen Shooters, depending whether a round
was loaded in the chamber.[citation needed] The US Government purchased about 3,140 (early ...

How Lean And How Companies Reduced Their Environmental...
Lean synchronization is the aim of achieving the flow of products and services which is able to deliver
exactly what customers want, in exact quantities, exactly when needed, exactly where required at the
lowest possible cost (Slack et al, 2010) . Lean s mandate to eliminate waste, this aspect makes it an
ideal way for organisations to minimize their impact their products have on the environmental. The
waste that has impact on the environment is: bad use of material, people management, inadequate
process design, inefficient production etc. In this essay I will further elaborate what Lean
synchronization is and how companies reduced their environmental impact on their products; I will
also be illustrating this further by using two ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is achieved by creating a system where (materials, information, customers) can be synced in a
way that smooth flow can be achieved throughout operations; the very well synced system can help
avoid unpredictability, which causes waste because people hold inventory, capacity or time, to protect
them self s from unpredictable event.
Overall pinpointing, exactly what lean synchronisation in few sentences will be difficult, (Slack et, al
2013) they view lean as three things; philosophy of how to run operations, lean as a method of
planning and controlling operations and lean as a set of tools that improve operations performance.
Lean is a way of running operation; it is set of principles which aim to smooth the flow through
processes by doing all the simple things well and progressively doing them better. Lean is also a way
of planning and controlling operations, it concerns with how well managers mange material,
information, and customers to flow throughout the operations. The aim is to coordinate those flows in
a way they are able to eliminate waste using different techniques such as pull control . Lastly, the main
pillar of what lean synchronisation is lean as a set of tools that improve operation performance; this is
where operation management generally view improvement as its main purpose.

Heritage Differences In Everyday Use By Alice Walker
Heritage Differences
In the short story Everyday Use , by Alice Walker she represents the conflicts and struggles of the
African American culture in rural Georgia around the early 1970 s. Alice Walker introduced 4 main
characters; Mama and her two daughters, Maggie and Dee as well as Dee s boyfriend Hakim a barber.
Mama is the narrator of the story, she is both a mother and father to her daughters as she is uneducated
but worked years of physical labor and lives in poverty. Maggie is the youngest daughter who s shy
and lives with Mama, she lacks confidence and is unable to be open nor make eye contact with the
people talking to her. Mama s older daughter, Dee who renamed herself as Wangero Leewanika
Kemanjo is educated, determined, and confident. She declares that she is the one who is looking at the
important aspects of her family history and Mama and Maggie aren t aware of it. Everyday Use carries
many different meanings that highlight the issue of how things are used on an everyday basis.
Understanding their family African heritage was a big concept for Dee. As Mama and Dee had two
different opinions about heritage which caused conflict about whom should keep the quilts from
Maggie and Dee. Everyday Use is a focus on the bonds women have between different generations
and legacies for example, the Quilts. Mama and Maggie see a different usefulness to the quilts
compared to Dee, the quits represent matters such as reading, race and class, among others.
Quilting in Everyday Use symbolizes family heritage. They are a history of papers in fabric that vary
over generations. They symbolize the family s history of pride, poverty and struggle. Mama and Dee
have different perspectives on what the quilts mean to the family heritage. As to Mama, the quilts have
a special significance; when she goes to touch them, she is feeling the people who represented them,
the ones who worked on them in her family. It represents the bond between women of different
generations in their family. The quilts to Mama don t only represent her understanding of heritage but
also shows how she s connected to them with her family. I took it for a moment in my hands. You didn

and other traffic control devices, and making improper turns (AAA Foundation (2009). Arizona law
makers took notice of the dangers that are created by aggressive drivers. The lawmakers amended the
Reckless Driving Section and amended the name of the statute 28 695 to Reckless and Aggressive
Driving. Arizona statute defines aggressive driving as a situation in which a person commits a
violation of speeding and at least two other traffic violations (i.e., failure to obey traffic control
devices, improper passing, driving off the pavement or traveled portion of the highway, following too
close, failure to yield right of way, or driving in a way that is an immediate hazard to another person
or vehicle). (ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY , para. 2). This was an important step
allow law enforcement a tool to make the roads safer. The serious problem is we should be trying to
be safer on our own. The question that should be asked is why are so many people are compelled to be
dangerous drivers? It could be that there is a sense of invincibility when they are in control of a big
powerful machine. This is often the case with younger male drivers, who enjoy the thrill of dangerous
driving. In other instances normally calm, law abiding drivers snap in a fit of rage. This road rage can
turn a driver from calm to instantly a monster behind the wheel,

Oranges Are Not The Only Fruit Analysis
Throughout Jeanette Winterson s Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit and Christina Rossetti s Selected
Poems , fruit is often used as a symbol to explore deeper meanings within the texts, such as sexuality,
sin and temptation in the form of homosexuality and Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, the psyche
and differing beliefs of religious followers and atheists. This exploration is further illuminated by
Williams A Streetcar Named Desire and provides some insightful views and contradictions. *finish

The repetition of the noun fruit is used to highlight the differing beliefs that make up the church
community in Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit ; fruit salad, fruit pie, fruit for fools, fruited punch.

The use of the *find out what kind of word it is* unpecked has connotations to the idea of virginity
when paired with the noun cherries , and presents the image of something that is untouched and pure.
This would all change once the girls had been subjected to the goblin fruits. If we take the
consumption of the goblin fruits as the loss of innocence and, in this case, virginity, then the poem can
be seen as a warning to Victorian society about the dangers of temptation. If we look at the fable of
Jeanie within the poem, she was tempted by the goblin fruits, which resulted in her becoming ill and
dying. The Victorians didn t like to talk about sex, but they were fascinated with it. This links back to
Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit and the idea of temptation, as Jeanette has to keep her relationships
with Melanie and Katy, and her sexuality hidden, due to the forbidden nature of it, and the views of
the church community. This in turn links back to the idea of forbidden fruit that Adam and Eve
consumed, which caused them to be thrown from the Garden of Eden, and the idea of Paradise. This
comes back full circle to the idea of the forbidden fruit of the

Essay On BBC Media Coverage
This essay will argue that whilst the BBC media coverage of my chosen article has good attributes,
there is a lack of extensiveness and some of the information that is presented to the reader is
misleading. Throughout this essay I will analyse the original research study and compare the findings
to previous research. Secondly, an analysis of the media s article will be conducted, before comparing
it the research study. Lastly, I will conclude that the BBC s representation of the study is imprecise
and biased as they excluded limitations and misrepresented the method and findings, thus impacting
the readers ability to acquire precise and impartial information.
Alloway, McCallum, Alloway and Hoicka (2015) recruited participants between the ages of six and
seven to assess whether verbal working memory (WM) has a significant influence on verbal deceptive
abilities in children. They used an independent groups design to compare the results of verbal and
visuospatial WM memory between the experimental condition which had 114 participants and the
control condition had 21 participants. The children played a multiple choice trivia game and were
categorised as being good liars (GL) or bad liars (BL) based on how they answered entrapment
questions, which were used to detect which children looked at the answer when the experimenter wasn
t present. Subsequently, the researchers conducted a letter recall task which assessed participant s
verbal WM abilities and a shape recall test examined

The Transformation of the International System due to the...
Rise of Networks and ICTs are transforming the International System
Introduction
Revolution in Information Technology has changed the entire meaning of International Social and
Economic System. This change became more prominent in the fourth quarter of twentieth century
when the core activities of circulation, consumption and production of markets, information,
technology, labor, capital and raw materials all started to be controlled globally. These activities are
now organized directly or by means of network connection between business and economic agents.
This system of new economy is more commonly known as globalization and when we talk about it,
the first thing that comes to mind is an instant exchange of information and trading by means of
networks. Information and communication technology has played a major role in globalizing the
world and transforming the international social and economic system.
Globalization has now created the business market networks in which the whole world participates to
raise the economy and thus profitability. In fact, it is now not possible to think of globalization without
understanding the concept of networks. In order to compete with the rest of the world, every nation or
business has to grow their network.
As noted in World Summit on IT, Information and Communication technology is acting like a catalyst
in making development to social and economic system of the world. ICT is expected and already

The War Of The Iraq War
On September 11, 2001, two planes crashed into the World Trade Center in New York City, New York.
This was the very first contact that the United States of America had with the terrorism that went on in
Iraq. March 20, 2003 marked the day that President George W. Bush announced the start of the war
against Iraq (1). This was the beginning of a very costly war on both America and Iraq. The cost of the
Iraq War was not just the amount of money spent, but the impact of war on the soldiers and the toll
that it took on the families of those who were involved, as well as the amount of time and dedication
of resources put into the war by the Government. The amount of money spent during the Iraq War is a
number that is not easily understood. The initial cost of the Iraq War has totaled up to be somewhere
around 1.7 trillion dollars as of 2013 (2). While this is a staggering number, it has only become worse.
A study has shown that the expenses over the next four decades could total up to be around 6 trillion
dollars not to mention the interest rate which could add another 4 trillion (2). These numbers do not
even make a dent in what the U.S. is paying. In addition to the initial cost, there is also a price to be
paid to the veterans that served our country. A 2011 study found U.S. medical and disability claims for
veterans after a decade of war totaled $33 billion. In 2013, that number had risen to $134.7 billion (2).
The War in Iraq brought devastation to their

Traditional Native American Culture
Long before the white man discovered America, people have already been living here. These people
are known as the Native Americans. As the settlers came to the native land, they brought firm beliefs
with them that ended up causing great conflicts with the native people. It was clear that the travelers
and the native people could not live among one another since the native people has their own set of
values and they were much different than the white man s beliefs. Traditional Lakota spirituality is a
form of religious belief that each thing, plant and animal has a spirit. The traditional Native American
community was a small group of related families. Each community included a headman, a man would
accomplish this position of leadership by demonstrating characteristics valued by the group, such as
generosity, wisdom, fortitude, and spiritual power gained through dreams and visions. The Natives felt
that the more isolated and rural the population was the more traditional it tended to be. Fraternal
societies were also significant within the community life. Memberships to this society was by
invitation only. The point of the society was to function as a tribal council. One important leader in the
society was a healer, respected for wisdom as well as curative powers. This healer ... Show more

Historically Black College and Universities: Are they worth saving? The first historically black
college (HBCU) was the Cheyney University of Pennsylvania which opened its door to colored youth

substantial education. Cheyney was founded by a philanthropist by the name of Richard Humphreys.

Money in the form of tuition, government funding, and personal donations allow institutions to fund
programs and ultimately make the college experience enjoyable to current as well as prospective
students. Historically black colleges lack both the government funding, personal donations which
makes it much harder for them to appeal to students. Due to lack of funding, many HBCUs are dated
facilities, lack scholarship opportunities and offer fewer programs for students looking to apply. Many
HBCUs have loss accreditation in a number of programs with contributes to the decline of enrollment
and furthermore a loss of potential revenue. However, regardless of the harsh reality many of these
colleges are facing, their impact on society and most importantly in the black community is one that
can not be refuted. Some of the country s most influential people are products of an HBCU education.

Strategies in Planning

BSIE III 2
Topic: Strategies in Planning
I. Introduction: Strategic planning is an organization s process of defining its strategy, or direction, and
making decisions on allocating its resources to pursue this strategy. In order to determine the direction
of the organization, it is necessary to understand its current position and the possible avenues through
which it can pursue a particular course of action. Generally, strategic planning deals with at least one
of three key questions: What do we do? , For whom do we do it? , How do we excel? In many
organizations, this is viewed as a process for determining where an organization is going over the next
year or more typically 3 to 5 years (long term), ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The goal of strategic planning mechanisms like formal planning is to increase specificity in business
operation, especially when long term and high stake activities are involved.
One of the core goals when drafting a strategic plan is to develop it in a way that is easily translatable
into action plans. Most strategic plans address high level initiatives and over arching goals, but don t
get articulated (translated) into day to day projects and tasks that will be required to achieve the plan.
Terminology or word choice, as well as the level a plan is written, are both examples of easy ways to
fail at translating your strategic plan in a way that makes sense and is executable to others. Often,
plans are filled with conceptual terms which don t tie into day to day realities for the staff expected to
carry out the plan.
The following terms have been used in strategic planning: desired end states, plans, policies, goals,
objectives, strategies, tactics and actions. Definitions vary, overlap and fail to achieve clarity. The
most common of these concepts are specific, time bound statements of intended future results and
general and continuing statements of intended future results, which most models refer to as either
goals or objectives (sometimes interchangeably). One approach recommends having short term goals,
medium term goals, and long term goals. In this model, one can expect to attain short term goals fairly
easily: they stand just slightly above one s reach.

Persuasive Speech About Being An Adult
Leaving adolescence behind and becoming an adult is difficult and somewhat terrifying, but there is a
tremendous amount of things about being an adult that makes growing up amazing. Be the change that
you want to see in the world. Gandhi. To grow up is to try and better yourself, to change from how
you were to how you want to be, so here are some steps on how you can better yourself and gain
others trust. Setting your own alarm to wake up on time, your parents will trust you more if you wake
up on your own, not to mention give you more leeway on how late you arrive home on school nights
since you can wake up on your own without them having to wake you up 20 times in the morning.

Antidepressants Cause Birth Defects
The main argument being made is that some antidepressants can cause birth defects, the article
provides us with a study to help prove this. The study looked at data on more than 38,000 women who
had given birth in 1997 2009 and compared what the mother s antidepressants are and the child s
number of birth defects (Neighmond, 2015). One concept or idea that ties into child development is
epigenetics, where the environment influences or alters gene expression (Berk, 2018), which makes
me wonder if in some cases the child being exposed to an environment of a depressed mother, it may
cause some genes to alter. This also ties into the concept of passive gene environment, where parents
who are genetically related to the child set up the environment ... Show more content on
Helpwriting.net ...
An example could be, if the mother or father is showing signs of depression, they may neglect to take
proper care for the child. Maybe because they are depressed, they may not focus all their time into the
child, rather focusing on their depression. A woman who avoids taking antidepressants during her
pregnancy to try and ensure her baby is born without defects could still have a child with some sort of
birth defect, other things can cause birth defects, such as current or prior drug use illegal or prescribed,
or in other cases that child is just genetically predisposed to it. Birth defects can happen due to genes
malfunctioning or even when there are problems with a chromosome (Berk, 2018). So, it is impossible
to say that a pregnant mother can avoid birth defects by not taking antidepressants. This idea is further
reinforced by Jennita Reefhuis in her abstract video when she cautions us that antidepressants are not
the only thing that can cause birth defects, other possibilities such as pre existing conditions in the
mother who takes antidepressants or other unknown influences may have a large impact on birth
defects as well (Reefhuis,

  • 2. Animals In Captivity Research Paper Animals in Captivity Zoos have been around for many years, the first one opening on July 1, 1987 in Philadelphia, USA. Although the quality of zoos has changed and developed over the many years since then, some people believe that the zoos shouldn t exist, including organisations that strive to close down zoos and return the animals back to their natural habitat. Even though some zoos have billions invested into them they will never really be able to compete with an animal s natural habitat. Zoos attempt to replicate an animal s natural habitat but in reality all they re doing is subjecting the animals to a life in captivity where they re unable to perform most of their natural instincts, such as hunting, flying, foraging and even choosing their own partner. Increasing numbers of zoos are using breeding programmes in an attempt to avoid the extinction of various animals, but the problem behind this is that the animals who are being bred do not get to choose their own mate and under some circumstances needed to be artificially inseminated. ... Therefore, I will introduce you my PICOT question which is: In patients that are withdrawing from alcohol, what is the effect of benzodiazepines, compared to other drugs in the treatment for AWS? Evidence Based Practice The study by Amato, Minozzi and Davoli (2011) examined five randomized controlled trials to find an efficient and safe medication to treat AWS. The study which had a total of 7333 patients concluded that benzodiazepines were better for controlling seizures when compared to a placebo and antipsychotics (Amato et al., 2011). When comparing benzodiazepines versus anticonvulsants, researchers concluded that the benzodiazepine chlordiazepoxide had better outcomes. No other studies were found which would compare the effectiveness among benzodiazepines for the treatment of AWS. The study by Askgaard, Hallas, Fink Jensen, Molander, Madsen, and Pottegard (2016) compared how effective the antipsychotic phenobarbital is when compared to the benzodiazepine chlordiazepoxide. The study involved a total of 2428 patients who had AWS; 1063 patients were treated with chlordiazepoxide, and 1365 patients were treated with phenobarbital (Askgaard et al., 2016). Researchers ... The film was set in the North of England, in a village called Everington. The director made sure that the movie did not go off course and stayed relevant to the time period of the 1980s. I found that the language presented in the film, was relevant to the time period and the labeling or stereotyping used was very appropriate to the 1980s period. This was because people were only coming to terms with the change and the diversity of men being gay or females being lesbian. Billy did not mind joining the class and he actually enjoyed it. Billy was not very good at dancing but he eventually found a passion and a fire within him to want to do ballet. One of the problems that Billy faced was to actually learn how to dance. His body had never had to have been controlled and every movement in ballet was controlled and precise. Another obstacle was that he had to deal with the abuse and disgrace from Jackie and Tony who were worried that Billy would have been seen as a poof . Jackie and Tony were disgusted when they heard Billy wanted to become a professional ballet dancer. This made Billy more determined to achieve his dream, not just to prove his family wrong, but other people who thought that boys shouldn t dance. This program was performed by aerial shooting from the helicopter. Eventually, Alice discovers that the jury is writing the words Stupid things on their slates, and one of them does not even spell the word stupid correctly (130 Carroll). This continues on with the witnesses, but between every break the king calls for the verdict of the jury. This rumor was reflected onto the King of Heart s character. Throughout the court case, Alice begins to openly announce her thoughts to the courtroom. She criticizes the queen s decision to make the sentence before the verdict, Stuff and nonsense! The idea of having the sentence first! (146). It is thought that the Queen of Hearts actually symbolizes a real queen of England. Queen Margaret of Anjou ruled from 1445 to 1461, and then again from 1470 to 1471. • 20. Why Rumor Is Defined By The New York Stock Exchange Rumor is defined by the Oxford English Dictionary as an unverified or unconfirmed statement or report circulating in a community. In the financial community, rumors have an effect on the direction of markets. The New York Stock Exchange in the United States is the epitome of how rumors can impact trade. The fluctuation of stock and commodity (raw material) prices on a daily basis is, in part, due to the daily news cycle. Although reports by news companies are supposed to be factual, statements made can be unverified. Because of the large scale of social media, anyone can make up rumors that can go viral. Stock traders rely on the news to determine what stocks they will buy or sell. News reports include important information such as: new product developments, company restructures, commodity reports, and scandals. Because of the rapid news, trading on the stock market happens very fast and it gets chaotic. As the buyers and sellers interact their process sets the stock price. The news effects the stock price because if a positive story circulates, there will be more buyers for a stock, which will raise the stock price; if a negative story circulates, there will be fewer buyers, which will lower the stock price. This constant process can either earn a big payday or be a total loss. Next the bill is presented to be voted by congress and if approved by the majority vote, it is sent to the president where it is either signed and becomes a law, or it is vetoed. If the President vetoes the bill it can still become a law if congress votes with 2/3 to pass it. Also if the President does not return the bill to the house of origination stating his issues for not signing it into a law or vetoing it, the bill will also become a ... • 25. A Very Brief Biography of Bethoven {Quote about Beethoven} According to musicologist Berry Cooper, Beethoven was born on December 16, 1770 in Bonn, Germany, where his father was the Kapellmeister. His father, Johann, was a respected tenor, violinist, and teacher of both the clavier and the piano. Although Beethoven is not considered a child prodigy, Beethoven did start music at an early age. Around age three, he would often sit on his father s lap and play has his father sang, and abandon his playmates to listen to his father perform. Some historians believe that he started taking formal piano lessons at age five, a normal age to start training in piano, from his father. Between the mix of Beethoven natural talent and his father s pedagogical experience, Beethoven excelled quickly as a piano and violin player. It was said that Beethoven s father was so intent on Beethoven s lessons, that he would often bring Beethoven to tears. When he was seven, he made his public debut in Cologne, with two other of his father s students, where he astounded the audience by the difficulty of music that was played.1 By 1779, his father could no longer teach the young composer and searched for other teachers. After going through many teachers Beethoven found Christian Gottlob Neefe who was the first to allow him to compose. In 1782, his first recorded work was a set of variations on a march by Ernst Christoph Dressler. This was then arranged by Neefe and published. This work, even from such an early age showed many ... Outline of the AFLP procedure (Vuylsteke et al., 2007) (2) Restriction fragment length polymorphisms (RFLP) When utilizing PCR RFLP, a DNA fragment is first amplified by PCR, then it is digested by a certain restriction endonuclease to generate a restriction polymorphic profile for the test subject species (Shaw et al., 2002). PCR amplification should be highly conserved among a species so that it can be easily amplified. Each fragment length is considered an allele, and RFLP occurs when the length of a detected fragment varies between individuals. Fedex Express At The Fedex Corporation In 1978, the FedEx Corporation sent out its annual report noting that Federal deregulation, recapitalization, and public offering were credited as the impetus for record sales and earnings (FedEx Corporation, 1978). At the close of the report, the chairman of the board credited the employees as the most important factor in such favorable outcomes. Nearly 40 years later, the message and tone of the FedEx Corporation (2015a) Annual Report was again boasting a transformative year, and crediting its employees. But the success of FedEx Corporation, and specifically its air cargo and freight services (known as FedEx Express), does not rely solely on the hard work of people. Instead, success is the result of a vision, philosophy, approach, and perhaps simply some good fortune; all of which can be found in closer look at the making of FedEx Express. A Brief History of FedEx Express In 1965, while attending Yale University as undergraduate student, a young Fred Smith submitted a term paper detailing his vision of how the economic and logistical challenges facing delivery of time sensitive shipments could be resolved using a simple, yet revolutionary, approach (Reichert, 2000). At the time, air freight was primarily transported via air passenger flights. The thesis was that the problem was air freight service being an add on to air passenger service, and the solution was to create an air freight industry (Reichert, 2000). Trifles is a story about a small group of people trying to solve the mystery of why a woman killed her husband. Two women named Mrs. Peters and Mrs. Hale are helping the two men, the sheriff and the county attorney, find Mrs. Wright s motive to kill her husband. The women begin to find small details that reveals plenty of information that could be useful in the investigation of the murder. These small details that the women find around Mrs. Wright s home are Trifles to the men. As Mrs. Peters and Mrs. Hale search around the house, Mrs. Peters finds a birdcage in a cupboard. Mrs. Hale finds a dead bird wrapped in a box with its neck broken, and in finding this, they come to the realization that Mrs. Wright killed her husband because he killed her bird. The women know that Mrs. Wright s husband did not enjoy her singing and he would never allow her to have a bird because it sang too. While searching a cupboard for some sewing supplies to fix a poorly sewn quilt, Mrs. Hale finds a birdcage tucked away inside of it. The birdcage that Mrs. Hale finds is the most symbolic object that reveals the motive for the crime. A birdcage can be symbol of confinement or imprisonment. Mrs. Hale says, No, Wright wouldn t like the bird a thing that sang. She used to sing. He killed that, too (781). • 29. Compare And Contrast Tom Brady And Peyton Manning Tom Brady and Peyton Manning have become household names in the past decade or so, and for good reason. Both of these quarterbacks have shown game in and game out that they are among the best to ever play. Anyone that knows the slightest bit about American football will know exactly what someone means when they talk about these two in the Hall of Fame discussion. So what makes these two quarterbacks different? Well, there is not much. Throughout their storied careers, they have had to overcome hardships, which only reiterates the point of their G.O.A.T. (Greatest of all time) status. These players are similar in their play style and records, but are different due to the adversity and hardships each player has had to overcome. The first and arguably most obvious similarity between these two players is that they are two of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the position. Regardless if you ask someone that dislikes either of these two, they will most likely agree that Brady and Manning have become the face of the sport. When they take the field, they are unquestioned leaders and will always give whatever it takes to push the team to success. Another glaring similarity between these two quarterbacks is their athleticism and play style. Neither of these players were gifted with speed. However, they more than make up for their lack of agility with their throws. Their understanding of the game and the other team s defense allows them to make throws that would look close to ... • 30. The Catholic Church s Teaching on Contraception Tafadzwa Kushamba: Contraception This week marks the forty sixth anniversary of Pope Paul VI s encyclical Humanae Vitae, a document which clarified the Church s moral teaching on contraception. What is contraception? Contraception is, any action which either before, at the moment of, or after sexual intercourse, is specifically intended to prevent procreation whether as an end or as a means (Humanae Vitae 14). There are various methods of contraception that temporarily or permanently sterilize a couple, thus making it impossible to have children. Contraception destroys the union and love between couples. In this we find that contraception violates God s plan of procreation. Contraceptives go against the gift of fertility by treating pregnancy as a disease. The issue of contraception has drawn worldwide attention with people divided on whether it is morally permissible to use any form of contraception. Society views contraception as a development in the modern world that helps in the regulation of birth. We find that many Catholics don t understand this issue and the Church s teaching on contraception has been misunderstood. The Church makes it clear through Humane Vitae that any use of contraception is morally wrong, for it violates the dignity of marriage and God s plan of procreation. It is our understanding that marriage is a sacrament of love between two people, instituted by God, for the whole purpose of continuing his plan of creation. Marriage is the foundation of ... Essay On Henry Rifle The original Henry rifle was a sixteen shot .44 caliber rimfire, lever action, breech loading rifle patented by Benjamin Tyler Henry in 1860 after three years of design work.[1] The Henry was an improved version of the earlier Volition Repeating Rifle. The Henry used copper (later brass) rimfire cartridges with a 216 grain (14.0 gram, 0.490 ounce) bullet over 25 grains (1.6 g, 0.056 oz.) of gunpowder. Production was very small (150 to 200 a month) until middle of 1864. Nine hundred were manufactured between summer and October 1862; by 1864, production had peaked at 290 per month, bringing the total to 8,000 manufactured.[2] By the time production ended in 1866, approximately 14,000 units had been manufactured. Heritage Differences In Everyday Use By Alice Walker Heritage Differences In the short story Everyday Use , by Alice Walker she represents the conflicts and struggles of the African American culture in rural Georgia around the early 1970 s. Alice Walker introduced 4 main characters; Mama and her two daughters, Maggie and Dee as well as Dee s boyfriend Hakim a barber. Mama is the narrator of the story, she is both a mother and father to her daughters as she is uneducated but worked years of physical labor and lives in poverty. Maggie is the youngest daughter who s shy and lives with Mama, she lacks confidence and is unable to be open nor make eye contact with the people talking to her. As Mama and Dee had two different opinions about heritage which caused conflict about whom should keep the quilts from Maggie and Dee. Everyday Use is a focus on the bonds women have between different generations and legacies for example, the Quilts. This was the very first contact that the United States of America had with the terrorism that went on in Iraq. March 20, 2003 marked the day that President George W. Bush announced the start of the war against Iraq (1). This was the beginning of a very costly war on both America and Iraq. The cost of the Iraq War was not just the amount of money spent, but the impact of war on the soldiers and the toll that it took on the families of those who were involved, as well as the amount of time and dedication of resources put into the war by the Government. The amount of money spent during the Iraq War is a number that is not easily understood. The initial cost of the Iraq War has totaled up to be somewhere around 1.7 trillion dollars as of 2013 (2). While this is a staggering number, it has only become worse. A study has shown that the expenses over the next four decades could total up to be around 6 trillion dollars not to mention the interest rate which could add another 4 trillion (2). These numbers do not even make a dent in what the U.S. is paying. In addition to the initial cost, there is also a price to be paid to the veterans that served our country. A 2011 study found U.S. medical and disability claims for veterans after a decade of war totaled $33 billion. In 2013, that number had risen to $134.7 billion (2). As the settlers came to the native land, they brought firm beliefs with them that ended up causing great conflicts with the native people. It was clear that the travelers and the native people could not live among one another since the native people has their own set of values and they were much different than the white man s beliefs. Traditional Lakota spirituality is a form of religious belief that each thing, plant and animal has a spirit. The traditional Native American community was a small group of related families. Each community included a headman, a man would accomplish this position of leadership by demonstrating characteristics valued by the group, such as generosity, wisdom, fortitude, and spiritual power gained through dreams and visions. • 48. Strategies in Planning Sharyn A. Quelitano BSIE III 2 Topic: Strategies in Planning I. Introduction: Strategic planning is an organization s process of defining its strategy, or direction, and making decisions on allocating its resources to pursue this strategy. In order to determine the direction of the organization, it is necessary to understand its current position and the possible avenues through which it can pursue a particular course of action. Generally, strategic planning deals with at least one of three key questions: What do we do? , For whom do we do it? , How do we excel? In many organizations, this is viewed as a process for determining where an organization is going over the next year or more typically 3 to 5 years (long term), ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The goal of strategic planning mechanisms like formal planning is to increase specificity in business operation, especially when long term and high stake activities are involved. One of the core goals when drafting a strategic plan is to develop it in a way that is easily translatable into action plans. Most strategic plans address high level initiatives and over arching goals, but don t get articulated (translated) into day to day projects and tasks that will be required to achieve the plan. Terminology or word choice, as well as the level a plan is written, are both examples of easy ways to fail at translating your strategic plan in a way that makes sense and is executable to others. Often, plans are filled with conceptual terms which don t tie into day to day realities for the staff expected to carry out the plan. The following terms have been used in strategic planning: desired end states, plans, policies, goals, objectives, strategies, tactics and actions. Definitions vary, overlap and fail to achieve clarity. The most common of these concepts are specific, time bound statements of intended future results and general and continuing statements of intended future results, which most models refer to as either goals or objectives (sometimes interchangeably). One approach recommends having short term goals, medium term goals, and long term goals. In this model, one can expect to attain short term goals fairly easily: they stand just slightly above one s reach. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

To grow up is to try and better yourself, to change from how you were to how you want to be, so here are some steps on how you can better yourself and gain others trust. • 50. Antidepressants Cause Birth Defects The main argument being made is that some antidepressants can cause birth defects, the article provides us with a study to help prove this. The study looked at data on more than 38,000 women who had given birth in 1997 2009 and compared what the mother s antidepressants are and the child s number of birth defects (Neighmond, 2015). One concept or idea that ties into child development is epigenetics, where the environment influences or alters gene expression (Berk, 2018), which makes me wonder if in some cases the child being exposed to an environment of a depressed mother, it may cause some genes to alter. This also ties into the concept of passive gene environment, where parents who are genetically related to the child set up the environment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An example could be, if the mother or father is showing signs of depression, they may neglect to take proper care for the child. Maybe because they are depressed, they may not focus all their time into the child, rather focusing on their depression. A woman who avoids taking antidepressants during her pregnancy to try and ensure her baby is born without defects could still have a child with some sort of birth defect, other things can cause birth defects, such as current or prior drug use illegal or prescribed, or in other cases that child is just genetically predisposed to it. Birth defects can happen due to genes malfunctioning or even when there are problems with a chromosome (Berk, 2018). So, it is impossible to say that a pregnant mother can avoid birth defects by not taking antidepressants. This idea is further reinforced by Jennita Reefhuis in her abstract video when she cautions us that antidepressants are not the only thing that can cause birth defects, other possibilities such as pre existing conditions in the mother who takes antidepressants or other unknown influences may have a large impact on birth defects as well (Reefhuis, ...
