This document summarizes the measures taken by Metro Barcelona to prevent violence in mass transit. It discusses primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention measures. Primary prevention includes educational programs to promote values of respect and cooperation. Secondary prevention involves police operations, situational crime prevention, and awareness campaigns. Tertiary prevention consists of mediation programs, alternative punishment through community service, and corporate social responsibility initiatives. Training is also provided to employees on non-discrimination, dealing with various situations, and awareness of social issues. The overall approach emphasizes cooperation between different departments and organizations to promote safety, security, and inclusion in urban mass transit.
The document discusses two common stimulant drugs used to treat ADHD - Adderall and Ritalin. It notes that while Adderall is more potent than Ritalin molecularly, different people may respond better to one versus the other. The conclusion states that studies have shown Adderall to be better than Ritalin for children taking these medications during the school day to help manage ADHD symptoms.
This document discusses ADHD and its treatment options for college students. It defines ADHD and its three subtypes, and lists common symptoms. It notes that about 10% of young adults and 25% of college students have ADHD. Transitioning to college can be challenging for these students due to increased distractions and workload. Stimulant medications are commonly prescribed but can have side effects; alternative non-medical treatments include exercise, sleep, diet, relaxation techniques, therapy and creating structure. The author conducted a student survey finding that 60% of respondents successfully manage ADHD without medication through routines and schedules.
This document discusses the abuse of prescription drugs Adderall and Xanax in New England. It then describes how a flagged social media post appeared to show counterfeit Xanax pills and how further investigation of the person's online pattern of life was able to determine where they likely live.
Alcohols contain an -OH group bonded to a carbon atom. They do not readily donate protons like water. Alcohols undergo complete combustion, producing carbon dioxide and water. Primary alcohols are oxidized to aldehydes then carboxylic acids, while secondary alcohols produce ketones upon oxidation. Tertiary alcohols are not easily oxidized. Oxidation reactions involve the gain of oxygen or loss of hydrogen and can be represented by half reactions and overall equations.
1) The study assessed non-prescription use of ADHD stimulant medication among college students at a Midwest university, building on previous research showing 4-34% of college students misusing these drugs.
2) The study found that 21% of students reported misuse, with males (35%) more likely than females (17%) to misuse. The most common reason for misuse was as a study aid.
3) Both users and non-users viewed misuse for academic purposes as not a form of cheating. However, the study noted various ethical and health concerns with widespread misuse.
Adderall is a prescription stimulant used to treat ADHD that some college students abuse as a "study drug" to increase focus and stay awake. However, Adderall has serious health risks like seizures, heart attacks, and addiction when abused or mixed with alcohol. According to studies, most Adderall abuse on college campuses involves snorting the drug or taking it with alcohol. Long-term abuse can lead to physical and psychological dependency that is difficult to overcome.

Marta Isach: Crime and victimization surveys as a tool for policy-makers - th...marginproject
The document discusses crime and victimization surveys conducted in Barcelona, Spain since 1983. It provides context on how the surveys originated during a time of economic crisis and high crime. The surveys have helped Barcelona develop an integral, multidisciplinary approach to public security that includes knowledge collection, prevention, planning, community participation, and operational coordination. The surveys face new challenges in collecting data on visitors, immigrants, and relating crime rates to perceptions of security. Adaptations to the survey methodology have helped address some of these challenges.

Metro Manila Transport Initiatives Mapping Workshop Documentation Report (Oct...newmobility
The workshop aimed to identify opportunities and challenges related to mobility, safety, productivity and civility on Metro Manila's roads. Participants identified barriers and enablers across different dimensions. Barriers included overcrowding, limited road space, and lack of accessibility for persons with disabilities. Enablers included public transport hierarchy, mixed-use urban areas, and footbridges. The workshop gathered ideas to improve transportation issues and inform plans to make mobility more inclusive.
This document provides an agenda for a conference on anti-corruption and anti-fraud measures related to the use of European Structural and Investment Funds. The conference will include a plenary session in the morning with keynote speakers on topics like building integrity and reducing corruption in public procurement. In the afternoon, participants can attend four parallel working groups to discuss topics like managing fraud risks, using data mining tools to prevent and detect fraud, addressing conflicts of interest in procurement, and implementing integrity pacts between managing authorities and civil society. The goal is to raise awareness of tools and measures to identify and mitigate fraud and corruption risks related to EU funding.
Turin is piloting a new transportation initiative called EasyTo that aims to improve mobility and reduce pollution. The initiative will launch an app allowing users to easily access various green transportation options around the city, including electric cars, bicycles, and scooters available for rental at designated parking areas. The app will also provide maps, schedules, discounts at local businesses, and the ability to pay via credit card. Conducting focus groups, the organizers found support from residents who want more transportation options, especially at night, as well as discounts and promotions. They developed a marketing plan to promote the free app and low-cost transportation services to tourists, students and citizens in an effort to make Turin a smarter, greener city.

Grand opening building transport infrastructure to fuel europe's economic eng...European Commission
Digitalization is transforming the transportation sector and how people live their lives. As digital technologies connect goods, people, vehicles and infrastructure through data, there are huge opportunities to improve efficiency, tackle issues like climate change and traffic congestion, and develop new mobility services. However, the challenges are also significant as vehicle numbers are projected to double within 10 years. To take advantage of new technologies while managing these challenges, governments must provide a clear vision, experiment with bold solutions, ensure open data and interfaces, and foster public-private partnerships between all stakeholders to create integrated mobility ecosystems.
