Soldt, had visited the port of
Masulipatanam
23.During his second visit in the following
year, soldt succeeded in obtaining a
farman form the King of Golconda
24.Which not only allowed the Dutch to
established a Factory in Masulipatnam but
also granted much low rate of duty
25.Vocs early factories in South India should
have been located in delta between
Karishna and Godavari

Portugese from a position of power began
with individual attacks on their shipping
and was quickly extended to their
possessions

company felt strong enough toe undertake
the blockade of Goa and Nalacca from the
sea
29.In the spices islands of Ambonia was
captured in 1605 and
30.Though P. aided by Spanish fleets from the
Philippines were able in early year to
mount various counter attacks against the
Dutch,
31.Their naval strength was reduced by
successive Dutch Victories
32.In order to strike a decisive blow against P
trade, it was necessary to conquers
Malacca, besiege Goa and to patrol the
coromandal coast
33.The second element in the Dutch company

commercial organization in the Indus with
territorial bases and factories in Java,
Malacca and India
38.The Dutch on the one hand, dislodged
the P. from India’s maritime trade
and on the other hand they gave a
new direction and commodity
structure to India's foreign trade
39.The Dutch instead of spices, greatly
promoted the export of textiles
