SIMILAR TO WHAT THE GENERAL
MASSES WOULD THINK REGARDLESS
OF THEIR OWN TASTES, AS THEY
SHOULD GIVE A ROUNDED VISION
OF WHAT THE PUBLIC, THE AVERAGE
CONSUMER IS TO EXPECT.
CONCLUSION:
IN CONCLUSION, FEEDBACK IS ALWAYS CRITICAL TO HAVE TO BE ABLE TO
UNDERSTANDHOW OTHER PEOPLE ARE GOING TO RESPOND TO AND PROCESS
YOUR FILM. EVERYONE HAS DIFFERENT TASTES SO IT IS ALWAYS A PLUS TO SEE IF
YOUR FILM IS WELL ADJUSTEDAND ROUNDED ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO APPEAL
TO DIFFERENT PALLETS AND TASTESFOR CONSUMERS. I HAVE LEARNT A LOT
FROM THE PROCESS AND, I BELIEVE THAT IF I WAS TO RESTARTTHE PROCESS
OVER WITH THE KNOWLEDGE I NOW POSSESS FROM MY FEEDBACK I WOULD

THE GENERAL CONSENSUS FOR THE FILM IS MIXED, WHICH IS FAIR CONSIDERING THE DIFFERENT AMOUNT OF TASTES THAT PEOPLE CAN HAVE IN FILM. I VALUE THE TOP INTERPRETATIONMOST, DUE TO THE PERSON'S OWN EXPERIENCE IN THE INDUSTRY AND THEIR MORE CRITICAL MIND. ALTHOUGH THE DIFFERENT INTERPRETATIONSFROM THE MEN I INTERVIEWEDARE VERY INTERESTING,AS STEREOTYPICALLY THE THRILLER GENRE IS SUPPOSED TO APPEAL MORE TO THEM.

  • 9. ANSWERS: ALEXIS: ''WITH THE GENERAL APPEARANCE OF THE MAIN CHARACTER AND THE PHOTOS ON THE WALL, I ASSUMEDIT WOULD BE A STALKER-ISH SCENARIO. I WAS CORRECT. OVERALL, IT SEEMSTHE PLOT WAS ABOUT A MAN OBSESSEDWITH A GIRL WHO IS TAKEN. ADAM: ''SO THE LAD HAD A DATE, BUT HE DIDN'T GO FOR IT, THEN REGRETS HIS CHOICE?" PAUL: ''I STARTED OFF THINKINGIT WAS A LOVESTORY, IT HAD THE WEE HEARTS ON THE CALENDER, AND THEN AS HE WAS RUBBINGHISOWN HAND AND THINKING ABOUT RUBBINGHER HAND. THEN I THINK IT TURNED INTO HEARTBREAK.'' I WAS PLEASED WITH THE DIFFERENT INTERPRETATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE, AS THE GOAL OF OUR FILM WAS TO HOLD SOME FORM OF AMBIGUITY WITH THE STORY AND HERE WE SEE THREE DIFFERENT INTERPRETATIONS.I THINK THAT, IN TERMS OF DIFFERENTPEOPLE INTERPRETING THE FILM WE SUCCEEDED WITH WHAT WE WANTED TO ACHIEVE.

  • 11. ANSWERS: ALEXIS: ''IT WASN'T VERY THRILLING. BUT IT DID FIT THE PSYCHOLOGICAL GENRE.'' ADAM: ''I AM UNFAMILIAR WITH THE GENRE, BUT I'LL BE HONEST AND SAY IT COULKD HAVE BEEN (PERHAPS MORE CLEARLY?) DARKER IF AIMING FOR IT.'' PAUL: ''COULD HAVE WENT FURTHER, YES.'' AGAIN, HERE WE SEE A MIXED REVIEW FOR THE APPLICATION OF THE GENRE. I UNDERSTAND THAT NOT MANY PEOPLE ARE IN TO THIS NICHE FILM GENRE AND MAY NOT UNDERSTANDIT, AND THAT IMPACTED THEIR INTERPRETATION. IF I WAS TO PERFORM THIS TASK AGAIN, I WOULD TAKE THE ADVICE GIVEN HERE AND DO MY BEST TO MAKE THE GENRE MORE EXPLICIT, POSSIBLY WITH FURTHER COLOUR CORRECTION.

THE ONLY THIS IS, I KNOW IT'S SMALL:IS THAT STRANGE APOSTROPHE ABOVE THE I, IT JUST SEEMSHIGH, OR MAYBE ITS JUST THE FONT.'' PAUL: ''YES, I DO. IT'S VERY CRYPTIC AND I LIKE THE CONCEPT OF THE CLOCK IN THE BACKGROUNDWITH THE BROKEN FACE.'' THE FACT THAT ADAM, WHO SPEAKS FLUENT IRISH, WAS UNABLE TO RECOGNISE THE IRISH ACCENT ABOVE ONE OF THE LETTERS SHOWS THAT WE SHOULD HAVE WORKED ON THE POSTER TO GIVE THE FADA A MORE NATURAL FEEL WITH THE FONT, AS THE FONT WE USED DID NOT HAVE THE OPTION TO INSERT ONE IN ITSELF. GENERALLY THE VERDICT ON THE POSTER IS GOOD THOUGH.

  • 15. ANSWERS: ALEXIS: ''WITH THE WAY THE IAMGE USED FOR THE POSTER IS POSITIONED, ALONG WITH THE COLOUR AND FONT USED, I ASSUMED IT IS A POSTER FOR A HORROR MOVIE. HOWEVER I AM UNCERTAIN.'' ADAM: ''FROM THE SHATTERED GLASS AND RED, I'D ASSUME THERE WAS AN ACT OF VIOLENCE THAT RESULTED IN DEATH, AND WITH THE NAME PERHAPS THE PROTAGONIST REGRETS SOMETHING WHICH CAUSED THIS.'' PAUL: ''LOOKING AT IT BEFORE YOU WATCHED THE FILM I WOULDN'T HAVE THOUGHT IT WAS BASED ON LOVE. I THOUGHT IT WAS ABOUT SOMEONE'S LIFE BEING DESTORYED OR WASTED WITH THE CLOCK AND THE SHATTERED FACE'' THE VERDICT ON THE RELEVANCEOF THE POSTER TO THE FILM ITSELF IS NEGATIVE. MANY THOUGHT THAT THE POSTER DID NOT CORRELATE TO THE IMAGE, WHEREAS I PERSONALLY THOUGHT THAT IT DID DO SO. I HAVE LEARNED FROM THIS AUDIENCE FEEDBACKTHAT, PERHAPS I SHOULD HAVE USED ANOTHER IMAGE RELATING TO THE FILM LIKE THE ACTOR OR ACTRESS' FACE WHICH WOULD HAVE MADE IT MORE APPLICABLE AND RELEVANT.

  • 17. ANSWERS: ALEXIS: ''CHANGE THE IMAGE USED FOR THE POSTER AND REPOSITION THE TEXT.'' ADAM: ''PERHAPS SOME SORT OF IMAGERY COULD BE APPLIED TO THE CENTRAL AREA, WHICH IS RELATIVELY BARE, INSTEAD OF SOLID SHATTERED GLASS ALL THE WAY THROUGH. PERHAPS A FAINT VISION OF A FACE OR SUCH.'' PAUL: ''NOTHING.'' THE REASON THAT WE WERE UNABLE TO PUT A FAINT FACE IN IT IN THE FIRST PLACE, AS ADAM SUGGESTED, WAS DUE TO OUR OWN LACK OF EDITING ABILITY AND SKILL TO BE ABLE TO PROPERLY EXCECUTE THAT WITHOUT IT LOOKING CHEESY OR DELIBERATE. THE FEEDBACK, HOWEVER WAS VERY HELPFUL.

PAUL: ''YOU CAN'T SAY A FAIR REVIEW, A REVIEW IS SOMEBODY'S IMPRESSION SO, REGARDLESS IF I THINK ITS FAIR OR NOT SOMEONEIS GOING TO THINK ITS FAIR.'' AS PAUL NOTED, ALL REVIEWS ARE SUBJECTIVE, BUT THEN AGAIN SO ARE THE REST OF ALL MEDIA PRODUCTS. IT IS VITAL THAT A CRITIC PEGS THEIR REVEW AS SIMILAR TO WHAT THE GENERAL MASSES WOULD THINK REGARDLESS OF THEIR OWN TASTES, AS THEY SHOULD GIVE A ROUNDED VISION OF WHAT THE PUBLIC, THE AVERAGE CONSUMER IS TO EXPECT.

EVERYONE HAS DIFFERENT TASTES SO IT IS ALWAYS A PLUS TO SEE IF YOUR FILM IS WELL ADJUSTEDAND ROUNDED ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO APPEAL TO DIFFERENT PALLETS AND TASTESFOR CONSUMERS. I HAVE LEARNT A LOT FROM THE PROCESS AND, I BELIEVE THAT IF I WAS TO RESTARTTHE PROCESS OVER WITH THE KNOWLEDGE I NOW POSSESS FROM MY FEEDBACK I WOULD THANK YOU FOR LISTENING.
