Jiuzhaigou: World Natural Heritage, National Key Scenic Spot,
National AAAAA Grade Scenic Spot, National Nature Reserve, National
Geological Park, World Biosphere Reserve Network, is China’s first
nature reserve with the main purpose of protecting natural scenery.
Jiuzhaigou is located in Jiuzhaigou County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang
Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It is located in the
transitional zone between the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the western
Sichuan Plateau and the mountainous area to the Sichuan Basin. It is
more than 300 kilometers away from Chengdu in the south. It is a
valley valley with a depth of more than 50 kilometers and a total area
of 64,297 hectares. The forest coverage rate is over 80%. Because
there are nine Tibetan villages such as Shuzhengzhai, Heyezhai, and
Chayuzhai in the ditch, they are named after this mountain lake
group.
The main protection objects of Jiuzhaigou National Nature Reserve
are rare animals such as giant pandas and golden monkeys and their
natural ecological environment. There are 74 countries that protect
rare plants, 18 countries that protect animals, and rich fossils of
ancient fossils and ancient glaciers.
“Jiuzhai returns without looking at the water” is a true interpretation
of the scenery of Jiuzhaigou. The 108 seas of springs, waterfalls,
rivers and beaches form a colorful Yaochi jade pot. The six landscapes
of Changhai, Jianyan, Nuorilang, Shuzheng, Zharu and Black Sea are
distributed in a “Y” shape. Cuihai, Dian Waterfall, Cailin, Xuefeng,
Tibetan Love, and Blue Ice are known as the “Six Musts”. The magical
Jiuzhai, known as the “fairy world” by the world, is known as the
“king of water”.
Affected by the earthquake, Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area stopped receiving
tourists on August 9, 2017. With the approval of the Sichuan
Provincial Government, the Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area, closed due to the
earthquake and mudslide, is scheduled to open on September 27,
2019.
Historical evolution
For thousands of years, Jiuzhaigou has been hidden in the mountains
and mountains of the northwestern Sichuan Plateau, and human
activities are insignificant. The Tibetans in this area are almost
isolated from the rest of the world and live a self-sufficient farming
and animal husbandry life. Due to the high mountain road, Jiuzhaigou
has always been little known.
In 1975, a working group of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and
Fisheries conducted a comprehensive survey of Jiuzhaigou, and
concluded that “Jiuzhaigou not only contains rich and precious
resources for animal and planting, but also a rare scenic spot in the
world”. In the same year, Professor Wu Zhonglun, a famous forest
scientist, conducted a more comprehensive investigation of
Jiuzhaigou. He was immersed in the situation and said: “I have been
to several countries in Europe and America, and I have not seen such
a beautiful natural scenery. I must protect it very well.” He
immediately informed the Provincial Forestry Department and wrote
the Sichuan Provincial Government. The Provincial Forestry
Department immediately went to the Nanping County Forestry
Bureau: “Jiuzhaigou is inspected and the Japanese is 200 meters away
from the land.” This is the earliest measure for the forestry
department to protect Jiuzhaigou.
In 1977, the Sichuan Provincial Rare Animal Resources Investigation
Team wrote the “Sichuan Provincial Rare Animal Resources Survey
Report” and proposed to expand the Nanping County Baihe Nature
Reserve into the Jiuzhaigou area.
In August 1978, the Chengdu Institute of Biology of the Chinese
Academy of Sciences proposed the necessity of establishing a nature
reserve in Jiuzhaigou, which attracted the attention of the Sichuan
Provincial Party Committee. On November 30, the relevant
departments ordered the logging of timber to be stopped in
Jiuzhaigou. On December 15, 1978, the State Council approved the
“Report on Strengthening the Protection and Domestication of Giant
Pandas” issued by the State Forestry Administration by Guofa (1978)
No. 256 document, and approved the establishment of the Jiuzhaigou
Nature Reserve Management Office in Nanping County. In 1978, the
State Council’s National Development (1978) No. 34 document
stipulated that Jiuzhaigou was designated as a natural landscape
protection area with a protected area of 620 square kilometers.
In 1979, two forest farms stationed in Jiuzhaigou moved out. In the
same year, according to the spirit of the Sichuan Provincial
Revolutionary Committee’s “Notice on Strengthening the
Construction of Nature Reserves” (Chuangefa [1979] No. 36), the
Nanping County Jiuzhaigou Nature Reserve Management Office was
established.
In 1982, Guofa (1982) No. 136 approved the notice of the approval of
the first batch of national key scenic spots in the urban and rural
construction environment and other departments, and designated
Nanping Jiuzhaigou as a scenic spot.
In 1983, “Ziuzhaigou Conservation Area Management Office of
Nanping County, Sichuan Province” was renamed “Sichuan Nanping
Jiuzhaigou Nature Reserve Management Office”. In the same year, the
provincial government determined that the natural protection and
scenic spots of Jiuzhaigou were unified by the “Sichuan Nanping
Jiuzhaigou Nature Reserve Management Office” with the Chuanfufa
(1983) No. 168 document. The management department was at the
district level and directly led by Nanping County.
In 1984, the State Council designated Jiuzhaigou as the first batch of
national key scenic spots by Guofa (1984) No. 136 document, and
established the Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area Administration Bureau of
Nanping County. Jiuzhaigou was officially opened to the public.
In 1985, Jiuzhaigou Tourism Company was established to conduct
unified management of tourism behavior.
On January 20, 1987, the Ministry of Urban and Rural Construction
Protection of the People’s Republic of China (87) No. 24 approved the
Jiuzhaigou Master Plan, with a scenic area of 720 square kilometers
and a perimeter protected area of 600 square kilometers. The
construction of Jiuzhaigou has since been on the right track.
In 1989, Jiuzhaigou Town was established, and three brands, a
management bureau, an administration bureau, and a town
government were formed. On April 20 of the same year, the
Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area Administration joined the China Association of
Scenic Spots.
On December 14, 1992, Jiuzhaigou was approved by the 16th session
of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee to be included in the
World Natural Heritage List, thus becoming a natural heritage site
with world significance and outstanding value that requires the world
to share responsibility for protection.
In 1993, it formed a management system for the management bureau
and the bureau two brands and a team.
In July 1994, the Ministry of Forestry confirmed Lin Jiubao (1994) No.
174 as a national nature reserve to protect rare animals such as giant
pandas and golden monkeys and their natural ecological environment.
On September 14, 1995, Jiuzhaigou joined the Network of Chinese
People and Biosphere Reserves and was included in the
Recommended List of World Man and Biosphere Reserves.
On October 29, 1997, Jiuzhaigou joined the World Biosphere Reserve
Network and became one of the UNESCO-sponsored global science
projects on human and environmental relations.
On May 26, 1998, UNESCO and the Chinese Academy of Sciences
issued the “World Biosphere Reserve” certificate for the Jiuzhaigou
Nature Reserve. On November 7, the same year, the Jiuzhaigou
Management Committee, which was dominated by the state and
county leaders, was established.
In March 2000, according to the requirements of Lin Shufa (2000)
No. 131 of the State Forestry Administration, the “Jiuzhaigou National
Nature Reserve Management Office” was renamed as “Jiuzhaigou
National Nature Reserve Administration”. In October of the same
year, it was upgraded to a county-level institution directly under the
state government, and implemented a management system of “state-
based, state-to-county joint management”.
On February 12, 2001, Jiuzhaigou passed the preliminary certification
of “Green Global” 21″. Green Global Asia is headquartered in
Australia, attracting tourism destinations and tourism companies
with outstanding achievements in environmental protection and eco-
tourism to join the organization, and recommend it to the world’s
tourists as the best tourist destination and best tourism company. .
On June 20, 2002, the expert group conducted a formal review of
Jiuzhaigou.
On August 8, 2017, at 21:19:46, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake occurred
in Jiuzhaigou County, Aba Prefecture, northern Sichuan Province. The
epicenter was located in Biman Village, 5 km west of the core scenic
spot of Jiuzhaigou.
From March 8th, 2018, some landscapes in Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area
will be reopened. The open area is the landscape along the Mizoguchi-
Changhai section of Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area, with special car guidance
and team tour.
On September 27, 2019, with the approval of the Sichuan Provincial
Government, the Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area, closed due to the earthquake
and mudslides, was ready to open the park. On the evening of
September 26, the first batch of tourists after Jiuzhaigou reopened the
park arrived at the hotel near the scenic spot. It is reported that in
order to ensure that the tourism service guarantee meets the
requirements for opening the park, in terms of food and
accommodation security, Jiuzhaigou County has also formulated a list
of travel-related enterprises and individual access approvals, and
conducted full coverage audit access for hotels and restaurants in the
core areas of Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area. The restaurant and restaurant
can operate normally, and the hotel can provide more than 10,000
beds.
Geographic location
Jiuzhaigou is located in the town of Yuzha Town, Jiuzhaigou County,

are 18 species of protected animals in the first and second grades of
the country, including 4 species and 14 species, representing giant
pandas and golden monkeys. Including protected areas and rich
fossils of paleontology, ancient glaciers are very developed.
Natural environment
Landform
The terrain of Jiuzhaigou Nature Reserve is high in the south and low
in the north. The valley is deep and the height difference is very
different. The Jiuzhaigou mouth on the northern edge of the area is
only 2,000 meters above sea level, the central peak is more than
4,000 meters, the southern edge is more than 4,500 meters, and the
main ditch is more than 30 kilometers long. The peaks and the peaks
on both sides are basically snow all year round. Jiuzhaigou is located
in the transitional zone from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau to the Sichuan
Basin. The geological background is complex, the carbonates are
widely distributed, the folds are developed, the neotectonic
movement is strong, the crust uplift is large, and the various camps
are interlaced and complex, creating a variety of landforms. The
travertine deposits with large-scale karst effects are dominated by
plant karst travertine sediments, forming a gorgeous and elegant lake
in Jiuzhaigou, rushing and rushing streams, waterfalls splashing jade,
ancient forests and deep forests, rolling and rolling Snow peaks.
Climate
Jiuzhaigou is about 3,000 meters above sea level and belongs to the
plateau humid climate. In Jiuzhaigou, the temperature in the spring is

Cuihai
Water is the elf of Jiuzhaigou, and the Haizi (lake) of Jiuzhaigou is
more distinctive. The lake is blue and clear all the year round, and the
bright bottom is visible, and it has different shades and rhymes as the
light changes and the season changes. Beautiful, exquisite and
translucent; majestic, blue waves are not inclined; calm, fascinating,
whenever calm, blue sky, white clouds, distant mountains, near trees,
reflected in the lake. Under the water, it is difficult to argue with the
truth, dreams, dreams, and illusion. In the lake, the colors of the
goose yellow, green, reddish brown, blush, and green are composed of
irregular geometric patterns, which are mutually immersed and
variegated. The angle of view moves, the color changes, and the one-
step one is infinite. In the entire ditch, Qihu is scattered and can’t be
seen. More than a hundred lakes, surrounded by ancient trees, are
surrounded by exotic flowers. The lakes are connected by waterfalls
of the rapids, each with its own characteristics and endless changes.

the waterfalls rushed out of the jungle. There is the Nuorilang
Waterfall, which is the highest in the country. It hangs on the high
green rock, and it looks like a huge curtain with a volley. Some
waterfalls whistling from the mountains and rocks, and after several
ups and downs, formed a cascade of waterfalls, like a group of silver
dragons leaping, the sound of snow, splashing countless small drops
of water, turned into a confused mist. When the sun shines, there are
often wonderful rainbows that make people pleasing and lingering.

beasts. Full of primitive forest features, it creates a sense of vastness
and depth. The 30,000-year-old virgin forest, with the changes of the
season, presents a variety of beautiful scenery.
Snow peak
The peak of Jiuzhaigou is straight. Winter peaks and peaks. The ice
bucket under the sun is dizzying. On the hills of Gurna, you can see
the mountains and the deep valleys. Starry, unobstructed. The sea of
clouds and the sky, the waves are tumbling, the peaks are smashing,
and the time is hidden.
Tibetan love
Jiuzhaigou is a large corridor of ethnic integration in history. It is
geographically located in the transitional zone from the northeast
edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau to the Sichuan Basin. It is culturally
in the transition zone from the Tibetan area to the Han area and the
pastoral area to the agricultural area, so its culture presents a rich
edge. Cultural color and the inclusiveness of broad freedom. On the
one hand, Tibetan compatriots maintain their own unique cultural
traditions, such as mysterious primitive religions, complex
architectural styles, costume styles, and passionate festivals; on the
other hand, they live in harmony with the surrounding Yi, Hui and
Han nationalities. Influence and infiltrate each other to form a
diverse cultural pattern. The industrious, courageous, intelligent and
simple Tibetan people have prospered in this rich and magical land,
creating a splendid and awkward Tibetan culture, adding a splendid
color to the treasure house of the Chinese nation.

water body with a dazzling array of ice crystals.
Value meaning
Jiuzhaigou National Nature Reserve is the core and corridor belt of
the Giant Panda A population in the Laoshan Mountains. It has a
typical natural ecosystem and is one of the cores of national
biodiversity conservation. It is rich in animal and plant resources and
has high ecological protection, scientific research and aesthetic
tourism value. The area is rich in biodiversity and rare in species.
Jiuzhaigou is also known as the “Fairy World of Jiuzhaigou” by the
alpine lakes, waterfalls, colorful forests, snow peaks, blue ice and
Tibetan customs. It is known as the “king of water”. Jiuzhaigou is also
a national geological park with geological remnants of calcified lakes,
beaches, waterfalls, karst water systems and forest ecosystems. It has
a high scientific research value.
Natural disaster
At 08:19:46 on August 08, 2017, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake occurred
in Jiuzhaigou County, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province. The epicenter
was located in Biman Village, 5 km west of Jiuzhaigou Core Scenic
Area, 39 km east of Jiuzhaigou County Yongle Town, and 66 km south
of Songpan County. Kilometers, 83 kilometers from Zhouqu County in
the northeast, 85 kilometers from Wen County in the southeast, 90
kilometers from Zoige County in the northwest, 105 kilometers from
Weinan City to the north and 285 kilometers from Chengdu to the
south. The Jiuzhaigou scenic spot was damaged by the earthquake.
Some scenic spots and roads leading to the scenic spot were damaged
by the landslide. The Spark Sea and the Nuorilang Waterfall were
destroyed and no longer existed.
The damage caused by the 2017 earthquake was large, and mudslides
and landslides occurred after the earthquake. Over time, these
destroyed landscapes will be gradually restored and updated, and
geological movements can also promote the formation of new
landscapes. For example, due to the earthquake, the Nuorilang
Waterfall was destroyed. After the artificial intervention, the
waterfall basically recovered. The earthquake caused a lake in
Jiuzhaigou to disappear, but at the same time it produced a new
waterfall, Shuanglonghai Waterfall.

With the approval of the Sichuan Provincial Government, the Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area, closed due to the earthquake and mudslide, is scheduled to open on September 27, 2019. Historical evolution For thousands of years, Jiuzhaigou has been hidden in the mountains and mountains of the northwestern Sichuan Plateau, and human activities are insignificant. The Tibetans in this area are almost isolated from the rest of the world and live a self-sufficient farming and animal husbandry life. Due to the high mountain road, Jiuzhaigou has always been little known. In 1975, a working group of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries conducted a comprehensive survey of Jiuzhaigou, and concluded that “Jiuzhaigou not only contains rich and precious resources for animal and planting, but also a rare scenic spot in the world”. In the same year, Professor Wu Zhonglun, a famous forest scientist, conducted a more comprehensive investigation of Jiuzhaigou. He was immersed in the situation and said: “I have been to several countries in Europe and America, and I have not seen such a beautiful natural scenery. I must protect it very well.” He immediately informed the Provincial Forestry Department and wrote the Sichuan Provincial Government. The Provincial Forestry Department immediately went to the Nanping County Forestry Bureau: “Jiuzhaigou is inspected and the Japanese is 200 meters away from the land.” This is the earliest measure for the forestry department to protect Jiuzhaigou. In 1977, the Sichuan Provincial Rare Animal Resources Investigation Team wrote the “Sichuan Provincial Rare Animal Resources Survey Report” and proposed to expand the Nanping County Baihe Nature Reserve into the Jiuzhaigou area. In August 1978, the Chengdu Institute of Biology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences proposed the necessity of establishing a nature reserve in Jiuzhaigou, which attracted the attention of the Sichuan

In 1982, Guofa (1982) No. 136 approved the notice of the approval of the first batch of national key scenic spots in the urban and rural construction environment and other departments, and designated Nanping Jiuzhaigou as a scenic spot. In 1983, “Ziuzhaigou Conservation Area Management Office of Nanping County, Sichuan Province” was renamed “Sichuan Nanping Jiuzhaigou Nature Reserve Management Office”. In the same year, the provincial government determined that the natural protection and scenic spots of Jiuzhaigou were unified by the “Sichuan Nanping Jiuzhaigou Nature Reserve Management Office” with the Chuanfufa (1983) No. 168 document. The management department was at the district level and directly led by Nanping County. In 1984, the State Council designated Jiuzhaigou as the first batch of national key scenic spots by Guofa (1984) No. 136 document, and established the Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area Administration Bureau of Nanping County.
