The Luanhe Scenic Area of Nantong City is located in the center of
Nantong, a national historical and cultural city. It is one of the most
intact preserved ancient rivers in China. After the history of Zhou
Xiande five years (AD 958), “the city has a river”, the total length is
10 kilometers. The water surface is 1040 acres, the widest point is
215 meters, and the narrowest point is only 10 meters. The entire
Weihe River is twisted and twisted, and the shape of the inverted
gourd surrounds the old city. It forms the unique style of “water
embracing the city, city water, and city water”, and is known as the
“Jiangcheng Jade Necklace”.
The Luohe Scenic Area is an open-air national AAAAA-class tourist
scenic spot that combines natural and human landscapes. In 1993, it
was approved by the Jiangsu Provincial Government as a provincial-
level scenic spot. In 1995, it was listed as the first batch of cultural
protection zones in Jiangsu Province by the Jiangsu Provincial
Government. In 1998, it was named a provincial-level civilized scenic
spot. In 2002, it was awarded the residence of Jiangsu Province. The
Environmental Award was awarded the “China Habitat Environment
Model Award” in 2005 and was rated as a national AAAAA tourist
attraction in 2012.
Natural resources
The Weihe River is the most intact and ancient city in the center of
the city. It has a history of more than a thousand years and is one of

3. the four remaining ancient moats in China. The Nantong Weihe River
surrounds the old city of Nantong, shaped like a gourd, like a bead
chain, and is known as the “Jade Necklace” of Nantong City. It is a 5A
level attraction.
Nantong Museum is the earliest museum in China and one of the
national key cultural relics protection units announced by the State
Council. Located on the shore of the southeastern Weihe River. People
praised it: The Weihe River in Nantong is like a jade necklace; the
Museum is a precious gem on this necklace.
Main Attractions
The scenic spots of Luohe Scenic Area include: the moat that was
originally Nantong, the history of the city, the river has been built,
the river has more than 1,000 years of history; the earliest museum
of the Chinese people – Nantong Museum; Wenfeng Tower; China’s
first textile professional museum, known as the “Textile Grand View
Garden”; Tianning Temple, Guangxiao Tower. Qushui loops back and
flows around the city. The water surface is 700,000 square meters.
The landscape is rich and the trees are lush. The pavilions and
bridges are hidden in the meantime, and the yachts are drawn in the
water. The beauty of Nantong City, a well-known garden-style city,
benefits from the Weihe River.

and Guangxiao Tower are located in the north of the Weihe River. The
folks have the saying that “there is a light filial tower first, followed
by a Tongzhou city”. There is one of the earliest museums run by the
Chinese themselves – Nantong Museum.
The Sanyuan Bridge and Wenfeng Tower are another concentrated
spot of scenic spots in the southeastern Weihe River. The scenery
here is beautiful and the environment is beautiful. Wenfeng Tower
stands flat and is the crown of Nantong Three Pagodas.
The southwestern Weihe River Scenic Spot is a scenic area built on
the basis of the old five parks. The river is wide and blue, and it is the
cultural and entertainment area of Nantong City.
