5S is a five step methodology for organizing and standardizing the workplace. The five steps are: sort, set in order, shine, standardize, and sustain. Sort involves removing unnecessary items. Set in order involves establishing designated places for necessary items. Shine involves cleaning and maintaining the workplace. Standardize develops processes to adhere to the first three S's. Sustain aims to continuously improve the 5S system through audits and communication.

– Remove all unnecessary items from the area
o Ensure all necessary items are safe and operational
