2. WHAT IS THE GOAL AT HATHAWAY?
Our Goal: Each student will develop a strong academic
foundation that includes the arts, health, technology,
and second language skills overall.
The MISSION of our school is to prepare our students to
becoming independent, well-rounded, and productive
citizen through a broad range of opportunities.
Technology can help our students achieve this mission.
3. FACTS OF FUNDING
Funding is provided through the Technology Capital
Project Fund (CPF), Technology Grants and through the
Funding of the Washougal School District.
So that all Teachers and Student will be fully literate in
technology and prepared for the future.
4. CLASSROOM VISION
Our vision is a learning environment in which all students
are computer literate and technology is integrated within
the curriculum across all subjects in various formats.
Each child has multiple opportunities to learn through
technology and enhance every day learning experiences.
5. M&M
MAKING CONNECTIONS AND MEETING STANDARDS
Technology is integrated into the classroom for research, and
gathering information on various topics.
Technology is used to help diverse learners learn new
concepts and apply them immediately.
Technology provides instant visuals and graphics to build prior
knowledge and create more meaningful connections to
learning.
Technology gives students opportunity to explore with media,
videos and podcasts in viewing, listening as well as creating.

7. TECH STANDARDS FOR 5TH GRADE
Students use technology resources for
solving problems and making informed
decisions.
Students employ technology in the
development of strategies for solving
problems in the real world.
Students can : Create a spreadsheet, a
graph and depict information gathered.
Students can create an electronic
presentation that contains text and
graphics.
8. HOW WILL WE REACH OUR GOALS?
Good news! Each and every fifth grader will be provided
with an IPad to enhance learning. Students will be able to
customize learning and save important documents to
individual IPads.
9. IPADS FOR ASSESSMENTS
These new tools will also be used to set individual goals and track student
progress by students. Information gathered will be used in compiling
assessments and conveying student growth at conferences.
10. MORE TECHNOLOGY
Each 5th grade classroom has been provided with a document
camera to assist in learning. This one piece of classroom
technology can be used to actively engage students in the learning
process. All learners will benefit from the use of a classroom
camera by being able to view text in a bigger way.
11. FOR THE TEACHER
Technology classes will be taken periodically to focus on
improving instruction in the classroom and implementing
up to date methods. Technology will be used to provide
more effective teaching and more powerful learning
experiences in the class.
Data will also be collected to provide accurate information
for evaluating success of tech integrations across the
curriculum.
12. FAMILY ACCESS
As part of the school district each family will be able to view and
interact with the teacher through a new Family Access Web Portal.
Families will have the capability to access student information that
includes personal information such as health forms to classroom
assignments and progress reports. All families will have
confidential log in information and will be able to communicate with
myself and any staff members with just a quick email.
