Technology can be integrated into simple classroom instruction where the technology can be secondary to the content that the teacher is presenting to the student. Students will learn a great deal about computer hardware and the internet by projects and lessons that are integrate technology into the classroom and they can use these skills that they acquire into future assignments.
The number of computers in the classroom is increasing at a rapid pace. The problem with this is that the majority of students will try to use for non-educational purposes as well. This can be a very distracting force in the classroom and it is something every teacher must keep a close eye on. Due to this fact some teachers may not want to integrate technology into their lesson plans but this would only hinder the students because technology is such a key part of our society.
People are now aware of how important technology is in our society. There are six key elements to creating a successful partnership for the 21st century. The first one is put an emphasis on core subjects like science and math. All the core subjects can have technology integrated into them. The second element is to place an emphasize on learning skills. Technology can be used to help define these skills such as critical thinking and problem solving.  The third element is to use tools to develop the learning skills that I have mentioned above. Digital tools can be essential to the main learning skills.
Standards seek to define what students should learn and thus what teachers should teach. There are now standards for technology in the classroom. Students have certain expectations now on what they should be able to do on a computer at a certain grade level and teachers are expected to be able to teach these about technology effectively.  Teachers and other types of educators will need to further content standards, performance standards, benchmarks, and framework regarding students and technology.
Teachers need a certain amount of training and preparation before integrating technology into the classroom. Teachers need to be fully aware of all the benefits their students can gain from integrating technology into the classroom and teachers must be fully prepared to use the technological resources at their disposal. Teachers must have an open and positive attitude regarding technology in the classroom if they want to have any type of success with it.

Teachers need to be fully aware of all the benefits their students can gain from integrating technology into the classroom and teachers must be fully prepared to use the technological resources at their disposal. Teachers must have an open and positive attitude regarding technology in the classroom if they want to have any type of success with it.
