 It refers to teaching and learning materials. To ensure
that students are fully engaged in their learning,
teachers employ a variety of interesting and
fascinating tools to teach the ideas described in the
curriculum.
 Such resources or materials can help students turn
learning experiences into reality to make learning
more fun, engaging, and interactive. These are tools
used in educational activities , including positive
learning and assessment.
There are four types Of Learning Packages
A. Collection packages for language teaching aids and materials.
B. Science-Mathematics Equipment and materials collection packages.
C. Collection package for sociology teaching tools and materials.
D. Collection package for information and technology tools and
materials.
 Language is a medium through which one can express one’s ideas,
thoughts, feelings, and messages. Language teaching is somehow a
difficult task as it is basically conditioned by the nature of the subjects. So
for making the teaching interesting, a teacher can take the help of
teaching-learning materials. While selecting the teaching-
learning materials, a teacher should ensure that the skills of reading,
understanding, listening, and speaking can be developed.
 The aids used by the teacher or facilitator in the classroom to make his
teaching more understandable and effectively are known as the teaching-
learning materials or teaching aids. It can be big or small and can be
bought or made easily by both the teacher or students. For example,
blackboard, map, chart, globe, tape recorder, etc.
 Mathematics: Instrument box (compass box), Plastic coins
– two colors – @50 each,Metre scale (wood/ synthetic),
Geoboard, Panelboard, Metal scale, Wall clock, Bottle caps,1
cm or 1-inch wooden cubes (100), Mirror,Solid models
(wood– cubes (24), cuboids, cylinder, cone, sphere, prism,
pyramids). GI wire/ wool thread. Puzzle books.
 Science: The science teacher also desires to teach his subject
as effectively as possible for realizing the stipulated objectives
of teaching science. In doing so, he wants an effective
communication with his students in the most interesting and
useful way.
Teaching aids may be classified as-audio aids, visual aids, audio-visual aids and activity aids.
1. Audio Aids: Those are like radio, tape recorder, etc.; represent that aid material which helps the
learner to acquire the knowledge through his auditory senses.
2. Visual Aids: Those are like charts, pictures, models, epidiascope, micro-projector, filmstrips,
etc.; represent that aid material which helps the learner in acquiring the learning experiences
through his visual senses.
3. Audio-Visual Aids: Those are like television, motion pictures, video-films, living objects, etc.,
represent all those equipment and aid material in which the learner gets opportunity to utilize
both his auditory and visual senses for gaining the desired learning experiences.
4. Activity Aids: Activity aids are those aids in which the students learn by engaging in some useful
activities. These aids facilitate learning through sight and sound as well as through doing.
• The examples of such aid in the teaching of science are as follows –
(i) Science excursions and visits.
(ii) Science exhibitions and fairs.
(iii) Science Museum.
(iv) Nature study corner
(v) Experimentation in the laboratory and workshop.

The purpose and importance of teaching and learning
materials is to make lessons interesting, learning easy
and enable teachers to easily express
concepts. Learning materials can significantly increase
learners' achievement by supporting learning.

  • 2.  It refers to teaching and learning materials. To ensure that students are fully engaged in their learning, teachers employ a variety of interesting and fascinating tools to teach the ideas described in the curriculum.  Such resources or materials can help students turn learning experiences into reality to make learning more fun, engaging, and interactive. These are tools used in educational activities , including positive learning and assessment.

  • 4. There are four types Of Learning Packages A. Collection packages for language teaching aids and materials. B. Science-Mathematics Equipment and materials collection packages. C. Collection package for sociology teaching tools and materials. D. Collection package for information and technology tools and materials.
  • 5.  Language is a medium through which one can express one’s ideas, thoughts, feelings, and messages. Language teaching is somehow a difficult task as it is basically conditioned by the nature of the subjects. So for making the teaching interesting, a teacher can take the help of teaching-learning materials. While selecting the teaching- learning materials, a teacher should ensure that the skills of reading, understanding, listening, and speaking can be developed.  The aids used by the teacher or facilitator in the classroom to make his teaching more understandable and effectively are known as the teaching- learning materials or teaching aids. It can be big or small and can be bought or made easily by both the teacher or students. For example, blackboard, map, chart, globe, tape recorder, etc.
  • 6.  Mathematics: Instrument box (compass box), Plastic coins – two colors – @50 each,Metre scale (wood/ synthetic), Geoboard, Panelboard, Metal scale, Wall clock, Bottle caps,1 cm or 1-inch wooden cubes (100), Mirror,Solid models (wood– cubes (24), cuboids, cylinder, cone, sphere, prism, pyramids). GI wire/ wool thread. Puzzle books.  Science: The science teacher also desires to teach his subject as effectively as possible for realizing the stipulated objectives of teaching science. In doing so, he wants an effective communication with his students in the most interesting and useful way.
  • 7. Teaching aids may be classified as-audio aids, visual aids, audio-visual aids and activity aids. 1. Audio Aids: Those are like radio, tape recorder, etc.; represent that aid material which helps the learner to acquire the knowledge through his auditory senses. 2. Visual Aids: Those are like charts, pictures, models, epidiascope, micro-projector, filmstrips, etc.; represent that aid material which helps the learner in acquiring the learning experiences through his visual senses. 3. Audio-Visual Aids: Those are like television, motion pictures, video-films, living objects, etc., represent all those equipment and aid material in which the learner gets opportunity to utilize both his auditory and visual senses for gaining the desired learning experiences. 4. Activity Aids: Activity aids are those aids in which the students learn by engaging in some useful activities. These aids facilitate learning through sight and sound as well as through doing. • The examples of such aid in the teaching of science are as follows – (i) Science excursions and visits. (ii) Science exhibitions and fairs. (iii) Science Museum. (iv) Nature study corner (v) Experimentation in the laboratory and workshop.
