rived to create a larger usable shaded area.
Description:
Atayer is a cafe that serves on the go quick snacks and drinks. The cafe is
designed primarily with the intention of it being sustainable were it would
generate its own electricity from the solar panels which also act a shading
structure. The cafe is intended to be easily put up or put down whenever
required with easy mobility and functionality. even though the project is small
it provides a variety of experiences and seating areas such as the bar, the
small cabins for privacy and the large groups seating area each with its own

15 l CULINARY ART INSTITUTE CULINARY ART INSTITUTE l 16
The concept:
To design a sustainable and efficient institute that is integrated and responds
to its surrounding. To create an interactive cultural and educational
environment.
The idea:
How the notion of the lock and key can only be useful together, therefore the
interlocking of culture and education has a much greater outcome through
cohesively integrating the community with the academic environment.
Description:
Sharjah Culinary Art Institute is designed to teach regional and traditional
cuisine using locally produced goods and products grown and cultivated
within the Institutes greenhouse. This is to be more efficient and
self-sustainable; within this spectrum the institute generates part of its
electricity requirements using the roof solar panels. Furthermore, in order to
reduce heat gain and following regional building traditions thick adobe walls
are used along with a screening system. The design of the institute blurs the
lines between the academic environment and the community by having an
open market the sells surplus of their products, the restaurants and cafes
serve food and catered by their students and finally an open theatre to
integrate the cultural events hosted in the surrounding area.

Description:
Jerash Camp School uses the educational system to enhance and further
involve the ,students and the community with their culture, by introducing an
education system that is not the normative which singularly relies on lecturing
and book however I want to introduce an educational system that is hand on
education, more involvement in extracurricular activities and involvement of
their culture as part of the education were it would be archived through books
recorded orally and visually such as their dances, more over their involvement
in increasing the revenue of the current community by learning various skills
which include embroidery work.
