but also pretends to be recognized for its architectonic
achievements in the last years.
RESPONSABLE: ANTONIO NARDOZZI
COMPANY: STUDIO FUKSAS
The University of Bocconi pretends to be part of this
message and became an iconic building for all the
Italian and foreigner students as an academic entity
but also as an architectonic element of the city.
The project intention is to respect the situation and the
history of the campus. At the same time, to contribute
to a new and sustainable image integrating high architecture and engineering.
9.
10. San Diego is one of the Californian cities of the U.S. that competes with the enormous cultural and
social variety of LA.
RESPONSABLE: FRAUKE STENZ
COMPANY: STUDIO FUKSAS
Westfield pretends to give the city a new image of this shopping mall that lives in the heart of downtown.
The proposal pretends to solve the flows across the building inspired by the Grand Canon fluidity.
It was important to have a central element that solves all the communication through the building
and guarantees the better functionality of the building.
At the same time obtain a new and luxurious image for the center of San Diego.
11.
12. Istanbul- the bridge between Asia and Europe and tries to have the
best fusion of both cultures in a harmonic way.
RESPONSABLE: EMILIANO SCOTTI
COMPANY: STUDIO FUKSAS
The project is placed in a neighbourhood of Istanbul- kaghitane- that is
looking for a single building with mix use that can provide and increase
the active in the area.
Create public space and green areas between the different building
without forgetting the surrounding was an important issue for the success of the project.
These spaces should work between them and with the rest of the program (100 000m2): offices, retail, facilities and penthouse.
13.
14. Los Angeles immediately puts the bar very high for any project because
of the music, culture, artistic or arquitectonic qualitty that the city can
offer.
The Beverly Center renovation pursues the understanding of shopping
centers role in today’s society, where they are perceived as magnetes
for social venues and cultural exchanges.
The client purpose was to rethink the exterior image of the shopping as
his public interior, providing better and luxurious spaces for the clients
and the tenants.
RESPONSABLE: FRAUK STENZ
COMPANY: STUDIO FUKSAS

15.
16. Braga is the third biggest city in Portugal and the one with the fastest
development in the last 20 year. The city supported health and technological facilities but still lacks cultural and artistic spaces.
The Art and Culture Center could provide and place the cultural hole in
the city and organize new events and initiatives that could make a big
impact for the people.

The project also aims to solve the urban conflicts of the place and act
as mediator between the city’s urban structure and the surrounding
landscape. At the same time, define himself as a benchmark for the city.
This way, the building presents himself as an innovative building for the
city, a landscape sculpture in the landscape and the more ‘door’ of the
city.
17.
18. Barcelona is an example of not only historical architecture but also contemporary. Always kept a space for
changes, that’s the way it became a very appealing
city for art, architecture or anyone that feels they have
something to say.
RESPONSABLE: JORDI BADIA
COMPANY: POLITECHNIC UNIVERSITY
OF CATALONIA_BARCELONA
The project attempts to answer two contradictory situations of the placement. On one hand, plays an important
role in the Barcelona sea front, on the other hand, should
remain the small scale of the old neighbourhood of ‘La
Barceloneta.
The project should include the 20 new apartments that
enjoy the Barcelona beach view, and the new commercial areas on the ground floor that will be responsible for
the activity of the seafront.
19.
20. Oporto is not only a reference for Portuguese architects but is becoming a big

Polyline answers two basic ideas that define the interaction. On the one hand,
responds to the timeline of the site and, secondly, to the perimeter line of the
building.
The project respects the existing remnants and ensures continuity with the new
construction, Such continuity tells the history of the building from its constructionXVII century- till the present.
21.
22. 1. Data is the first step to achieve wisdom.
How can we, as an architect, think and project a city with this data and how can we achieve
people with this information?
This exercise was a first step to bring data to the city and the people/
The project consisted in a 1:1 scale section of the real street allowing a direct interaction
between the project and the people. Exposing data makes people realize how the city looks
like and rethink how to improve it.
2. The exercise pretended to study a section that crosses all Madrid through different types of
neighbourhood.
The object was to achieve new interpretations and compilations inside Madrid network.
The result was a diagrammatic section that reflects the different studies made: physical situation, public/ private space, materiality, social and economical items and climate information.
RESPONSABLE: NESTOR MONTENEGRO
COMPANY: EUROPEAN UNIVERSITY OF MADRID
3. Private and public spaces have been always issued that attract many architects, sociologists, etc.How can we ‘manipulate’ people make use of private/public spaces or how people
‘manipulate’ the spaces we project is the main point of this project.
The project consists of creating a personal space to Skype that could be located in public or
private spaces.
The exercise develops individual elements and aggregated elements waiting for people to
interact between them or let them have their own private space even if it is in the middle of a
cafe.
23.
24. 1. The project consists of a big complex with mix used programs such as commercial, offices, residential, variable space, public spaces, auditorium. etc..
The project is already under construction but still do not provide a continuous canopy that
unify the commercial street with the public space.
The research for the canopies was necessary to provide a fluid space between this area
with the appropriated material and with a good constructive and structural system.
2. The project is located in Lanzhou, one interior Chinese city that grows every day.
The project consists on two main office tower linked at the ground floor level by commercial
mall.
TJAD is already developing the constructive plans but still working on the facade details
and all the options for natural ventilation in an efficient way.
PROJECT MANAGER: GAO
COMPANY: TJAD_SHANGHAI
3. The project, located in Qingdao, includes 100000 sqm for mixed use- 60 000 housing and
40 000sqm commercial.
The project is still in the concept design phase and should achieve the appropriated form
for the program, be functional and take care of the public spaces as much as the private
spaces.
Also should be sensitive to the environment around and be able to define itself as a new
landmark in Qingdao.
25.
26. Parking. One of the main concerns in U.S.A.
The project tries to clean the actual concept of parking from peoples’ minds and make
them understand how can it development to something different.
The main goal was to create a prototype and study the strategies necessary to implement
the project elsewhere.
The final project should be able to convert parking into cultural space, when not used, and
allow to recycle the building for new future functions- office, housing.
This way the parking could be idealize as a very architectonic building, recyclable and
public.
From the analysis of the problems and the opportunities, the project intends to include in
the proposal all the parameters that could be an advantage to the project- empty plots,
new developments, future parks, etc.
One important strategy was to use a future park plot for the project so we could have the
public space and add other uses to interact between them without damage each other.
RESPONSABLE: RAMIRO LOSADA
FRANK WOLDEN
MIKE STEPNER
COMPANY:NSAD_SAN DIEGO
Even if the main strategy was to create a prototype, adaptable to anywhere, it was also
intended to apply and adapt the project to a site and real situation.
In this case is important that our project interacts with the activities surrounding- university,
new residential, restaurants etc- to provide the parking but also the public space that East
Village requires.
