SPRING 2010. WHILE TAKING FREEHAND
DRAWING 2, WE WERE GIVEN A PROJECT
SPONSORED BY ALDERSON MOTORS TO
CREATE A PIECE OF ARTWORK BASED ON
A CAR. SELECT WORKS OF THE PROJECT
WERE THEN SELECTED TO HANG ON
DISPLAY AT THE FORST FRIDAY ART TRAIL
IN ALDESRON MERCEDES SHOWROOM.
OUT OF ABOUT 125 STUDENTS, CLOSE TO
250 PICES WERE PRODUCED; 70 OF WHICH
WERE CHOSEN TO BE ON DISPLAY FOR THE
EVENING. AFTERWARDS, 22 WERE CHOSEN
BY THE DEALERSHIPS TO BE ON DISPLAY
FOR A YEAR IN THE SHOWROOM.
ABOVE IS THE INITIAL PHOTOGRAPH
THAT I STARTED WITH
TO THE RIGHT, IS THE FINAL
HDR RENDERING THAT I PRODUCED. THIS
PIECE OF ARTWORK IS ON DISPLAY AT
ALDERSON BMW TIL APRIL 2011.

COMPOSITE
Within this project, I chose to look at the pavillion as a constructed form of
a wave, sandwiched between two boards. This viewport i have chosen to
view this structure in, shows the depth of waves crashing, and rising again.
I started out analyzing the flow paterns of the center structure, as it alows
the viewer to see the depth in the building. I saw the wave patern as
a never ending curve. The brighter area’s are represented by the offset of
six lines, where as the areas in shade are represented by twelve lines offset.
i have then increased the study to add heighth. Then I went in and created
variations in the control points to edit the width, length of the model.
I layed out the orientation of the different pieces like a wave across the
paper beginning with the initial image, moving onto the initial wave patterns
and ending with the final model. I have chosen to keep the initial picture
and the final model as the only pieces in color to increase the viewers
attention to the starting point and the finished product.
