The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

One of the most well known songs on the album is Renegades.

Art work on album is white with the black title standing out possibly showing
that they want to get the band name and album across to consumers buying it
making it recognisable.

I chose to analyse their music video of Unsteady.
This video showed the story of a relationship between a man and a
woman, and the struggles that occur
I think this video appealed towards the young adult age range 21+ as
that is when serious relationships start to take place.
It was a video which was supposed to relate to people who have been
in relationships
Their bands theme seems to be about life and going through it and all
the different things that happen and this music video connects with
that.
Music Video/ Single
5.
The conventions that have been used in all three are life, and the
different stages that everyone goes through from the cradle to the
grave.
They want to connect with their audience and relate with them and
their music allows you to feel connected, as the lyrics they speak about
in their video and the video its self is something everyone has
experienced before.
The imagery used in all three is the key similarity between all of them.
On the website they have pictures of them both when they were young
and where they are now currently, in the music video it shows a
relationship between a man and a woman, and the album was popular
amongst the younger generation.
What Conventions Have
Been used in the three?
6.
The overall goal/image/message the company is trying to portray is
that they are a band which appeals to the younger generation mainly
but also the older as well.
They are trying to convey that problems happen in your life but you
have to get over them the band are trying to show the struggles in life
that everyone incurs that you eventually have to get over.
It is trying to convey the overall image that they are a community and
they are a band which tries to relate to the people as much as possible
What is the overall goal/image the
company is trying to portray?
7.
They try to add a different style to their website which is very artistic
and different to the usual and their campaign I think appeals to a wide
range of age groups, which is different to a lot of artists
Is their anything
different if so why?
8.
I believe it has been a successful campaign as it was very artistic visual
and they had a very appealing style of music which lots of different
age groups could like, I think all of their songs had a clear story line
and all had a meaning rather than just being a song. Their music is
different to other types in its genre and it definitely appeals to a wide
variety of people.
Do you believe this has been a
successful campaign if so why?
