Darcy s proposal is highlighted by the proposals varying styles, which shows the reader the
emotions fuelling the proposals. Austen portrays Collins proposal as arrogant and rehearsed,

1. The setting in which I had this past communication that I felt I was not very successful as I
wished happened last semester in the fall. I remember it being a cold, stormy, and raining Saturday

One situation in which I would feel that it would be most difficult to apply the NVC principles
for me would be when I am fighting with my mother. Personally it would be a challenge to stay
so calm in my exchange with her, because I know that she will always be there for me regardless
of what happens or is said. Also, the fact that she knows me like no one else makes it even more
difficult to try and change the way I communicate with her, even if it s for the better. In the past, I
have not been very successful in two NVC principles. Those two NVC principles are statement of
feeling and statement of need. Whenever, I have a conversation with a person and I need to let
them know how I am feeling, it never comes out the way I mean it to. A part of that issue has to
do with me using the wrong words to describe my feelings. A situation where I had a difficult time
applying statement of feeling was during an interaction I had with my boyfriend. My boyfriend
accidently double booked on our date night, which resulted in him wanting to reschedule our it.
Usually I wouldn t have minded moving our date night, but I had been planning this night for
weeks. He didn t seem to understand why I was so upset, and I remember telling him that I felt
so abandoned and disrespected that he forgot about it. At the time of this interaction, I just
expressed what I was feeling blindly. However, after analyzing this communication, I realize that
I was not using the NVC principles. I should have used statement of feeling in the NVC way. For
example, I should have said I feel sad and depressed that you forgot our date night. I was

Paikea Apirana is the protagonist of the movie with 11 years old. She is the completely opposite
of her grandmother. She is a model of a female counter stereotype; in different words, she is not
submise, passive and weak. In fact, Paikea is an intelligent, confident, strong, curious and bold
young girl who stranded up to the advantages against her of prospering in a male dominated
society. In different ways, Paikea presents characteristics that look like the male stereotype.
Paikea knew from the instant of her birth that she was not liked. Paikea had a soliloquy at the
starting of the movie, where she manifests that there was no gladness when I was born. My twin
brother died and took my mother with him. Everyone was waiting for the first born boy to lead us,
but he died and I didn t (Whale Rider, 2002). Her grandfather often reproves her for being a girl
because only boys can carry on the ritual of being the descendant of the divine Whale Rider of
the Sea. Her grandfather looked her with disdain and viewed her as a load because she could not

Unfortunately, the Republican party wished for their own party to win the office. Though the
Southern people may have wanted a Democrat in office, the Democratic party had its eyes set
upon Home Rule . They could finally have members of their own party governing their own

Tender is the Night by F. Scott Fitzgerald is a dissolution story full of loss, loneliness and
isolation. It is an extremely intricate, thick and detailed book. Tender is the Night is a book
about the adult life of a charismatic and personable psychiatrist named Dick Diver and his
marriage to his wife Nicole Diver who is also his patient. He meets a young hollywood actress,
named Rosemary Hoyt, one summer and has an affair with her. This affair begins his slow decline
to his downfall and eventual loss of his reputation, career and family. For its many themes and
strong dynamic characters, I have found Tender is the Nightto be a good, satisfying book to read.
The main theme conveyed throughout this novel is that although lovebrings happiness at times, love

Fitzgerald s principle idea he wants to convey is that life is unpredictable, your hopes, dreams,
and plans can change in a second and love is the main reason. Fitzgerald aims to show, that these
changes are not for the better. Fitzgerald presents this ideal through Dick Diver. Dick Diver s
goal is to become a world renowned psychiatrist. That all changes the day he meets Nicole. He
gives it all up for love, devoting his life to take care of her. After 6 years or so, Dick meets

My Experience Of Moving To A New Country
Moving to a new house it s exciting but moving to a new country it s terrifying. That s how I felt

The review written by Rodrigo Perez of Quentin Terentino s Django Unchained, is excellent and
very well written. However, the review makes a mockery of one of Terentino s best films.
Quentin Terentino is a popular film maker. He has made films including: Pulp Fiction, Django
Unchained, Hateful 8, Kill Bill, Reservoir Dogs, and many more. Django Unchained is about a
slave named Django who is purchased by bounty hunter, Dr. Shultz. Dr. Shultz takes Django
under his wing to help him along the way. In return for Django s help, Dr. Shultz will help him
find his wife, Broomhilda, who is working as a servant at the Candieland plantation in
Mississippi. To purchase Broomhilda, Django and Dr. Shultz pretend they are interested in
Mandingo fighting. They tell Mr. Calvin Candie, owner of Candieland that they want to
purchase one his best fighters which gets him interested in working business with them. Their
plan is to travel to Mississippi and get Broomhilda as well. Right as the purchase is about to
happen, Dr. Shultz gets greedy and everything goes awry. This three hour comedic drama pulls
the audience in with gruesome battle scenes and its well timed humor. Django Unchained was
produced well and is one of Terentino s best. Not everyone agrees with this though. For example,
there are many reviews written that find the movie boring and pointless. The review of Django

the frustration students are experiencing with regards to corrupt government. As the student
protests make headlines, it s like you can see the student protest from the 1960 s in your head, a
resemblance of young people who stand up for what they believe in. Now although the matters
being fought for in the two era s are completely different and whereby some might argue and say
that what the youth is fighting for today is not as serious to what the youth fought for in the 60 s,
but those must remember it is a different era, with different problems but still the students rise up
for what they believe in and stand tall, just like the hippies did. [Source A and Source B]
Now the defiance of the hippie generation; meaning the open resistance, the refusal to obey rules
by this generation could be viewed in one way or one could look deeper and further whereby one
can not only look at how the hippies are reincarnated into the youth of today in terms of protests
and voices opinions but also in terms of breaking rules in the way on is expected to live. It was
always said that one should keep ones sexuality secret and it was in the 1960 s when sexuality
was no secret, woman did not care about whom they slept with and no one else really cared
because it was about happiness and freedom
