The Bill Of Rights Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of "The Bill of Rights" can be both challenging and rewarding.
The difficulty lies not only in presenting a comprehensive understanding of the historical context
and significance of the Bill of Rights but also in analyzing its impact on contemporary society.
This task requires meticulous research to delve into the origins, debates, and subsequent
interpretations of the amendments. Moreover, weaving a cohesive narrative that effectively
communicates the relevance of each right to present-day issues demands a thoughtful and
analytical approach.
One must navigate through the complexities of legal language, political philosophy, and
historical events to provide a well-rounded perspective. Balancing the exploration of individual
amendments with an overarching understanding of how they collectively shape the principles of
justice and liberty requires a nuanced grasp of constitutional law and political theory.
Additionally, the essay should address potential counterarguments and conflicting
interpretations, adding a layer of complexity to the task. Striking the right balance between
historical analysis and contemporary application is crucial to ensuring the essay is not merely an
exercise in recounting facts but an insightful exploration of the enduring impact of the Bill of
Rights.
In conclusion, while the process of writing an essay on "The Bill of Rights" may pose challenges,
it is an intellectually stimulating endeavor that allows for a deeper appreciation of the principles
that underpin the legal and political landscape. The effort invested in researching, analyzing, and
articulating thoughts on this crucial subject can lead to a richer understanding of the intricate
relationship between constitutional principles and the society we live in.

Zebra s Lawsuit Summary
There are a couple parties that are part of this lawsuit. On Plaintiffs side we have,
Lynx System Developers, INC, and ISOLYNX, LLC. On the Defendants side we
have, Zebra Enterprise Solutions Corporation, and ZIH Corporation. From my
understating, over the last couple of years the Zebra Enterprise Solutions
Corporations have been stealing technological innovations for the real time tracking
of athletes and game analysis from Lynx System Developers. Lynx System
Developers rolled out their own player tracking system for a trial run during the 2012

Lynx System Developers trusted Zebra to comply with their written confidentiality
agreements with Lynx, however, Zebra betrayed Lynx. There were 12 things listed
the Nature of the Action. These include: Misappropriation of trade secrets; breach
of contract; fraud; and intentional interference with existing contractual and
advantageous business. These are just a few of them. Based on the discussions
that we ve previously have had in class, I think that Zebra is going to lose this
lawsuit. I think this because Zebra knows that they have wrongfully taken and has
used Lynx invention. The proof is in that pudding. If it wasn t for Lynx introducing
Zebra to their technologies, then Zebra wouldn t be working with the NFL to roll
out to all the 31 NFL stadiums this season. I think that is lawsuit, just like most
lawsuits, are going to take a while till it gets resolved. I think that when it finally
does get resolved, Zebra Enterprise Solutions is going to have to pay Lynx System

Slavery In The Late 17th Century Virginia
Slavery was caused by economic factors of the English settlers in the late 17th
century. Planters primarily relied on indentured servitude, in order to facilitate
their need for labor. Before the 1680 s, Indentured Servitude was the primary
source of labor in the newly developed colonies but after the 1680 s, the population
of the Indentured Servants decreased, exponentially. The Seventeenth century in
Virginia was an unruly and rebellious time as the labour force, being both white
and some black servants, was becoming more and more disloyal. The economic
prosperity of the colonies was primarily dependent on the amount of tobacco
produced. The growing of tobacco, needed a large amount of land, with a large
stable work force that was affordable, the planters of tobacco however were only
receiving the very scum and off scouring from England from the merchants who were
supplying the servants... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This coupled with the fact that the servants did not hold their masters in high regard,
created an enormous economic problem as the planters had now found themselves
tied to an economic system (slavery) over which they had little control. The changes
in tobacco prices made wage earners and planters of small farms subject to poverty
as the amount of money and time invested to the labour force was not making its
return. This increase in a demand for large stable work forces combined with the
availability of African slaves, led to the use of slavery in Virginia and ultimately the
United States. Before the end of the century it is believed the first negro slaves came
from Barbados, however it is argued in T.H Breens The Giddy Multitude that this is
doubtful as Virginian planters wouldn t want to invest what small capital they had
into labourers who had very little skill in harvesting tobacco and who could easily

Good And Evil In Frankenstein
The novel tells the story of the scientist Victor Frankenstein who loses touch with
reality while creating a new form of life, a monstrous being who nevertheless has
human character traits. The nameless creature appears to be a representation of evil,
a character representing unconscious, instinctual drives. Yet, the creature becomes
only a monster due to denied love and rejection by Victor Frankenstein. Thus, he
swears to take revenge, transforming into a monster. Thus, Frankensteinpresents two
characters that cannot be easily determined good or evil as human beings have both
qualities within themselves.
When examining Shelley s Frankenstein, one should consider the figure of the
creator, Victor Frankenstein. He was born to Caroline and... Show more content on

As he reads these old works, Victor is not able to understand that these theories have
long been invalidated. With the ideas of alchemy, the study of the philosopher s stone
and the elixir of life, he leaves his home to study at the university in Ingolstadt,
Germany. After the death of his mother Caroline, he feels the pain of solitude and
retreats in the acquisition of knowledge, learning about the limits of science and the
human body.
First, one has the impression that Victor s interests in creating a being is only of
honourable nature: I thought that if I could bestow animation upon lifeless matter, I
might in process of time (although I now find it impossible) renew life where death
had apparently devoted the body of corruption (Shelley 53). However, he seems to
be an unreliable narrator. The reader develops doubts whether his true intentions are
as noble as he tries to present. It appears that the true interest is quite egoistic, as he
desires to gain fame:

immensity of the prospect which it illustrated, I was surprised, that among so many
men of genius who had directed their enquiries towards the same science, that I alone

Steven...
In the film Out of Sight (Steven Soderbergh, 1998) elements of mise en scene,
lighting, editing and characters reveal the themes of identity, love and power. The
theme of power directly relates to the economic boom in the United States in the
1990s and the population s strive for success. These themes are brought out through
the repetitive use of the colorredin the film and are also used to relate back to the title.
In relation to other American action films released in 1998, Out of Sight is a very fast
faced movie much like the rest of them. The fast paced editing style that Soderbergh
utilized in the film relates very much to the race to power that was so prevalent in the
1990s. When the economy started to boom, the people of the country ... Show more

The first shot of this sequence is of Foley sitting in a chair at a desk with a red
colored wall behind him. Right away the color red is introduced on the wall as
well as on the desk in pens, the top of a yogurt, a potted plant and the wrapper of a
power bar. After the man who was at the desk in front of Foley leaves the room,
Foley s eyes gaze upon the contents of the desk. The camera pans over the red
objects on the desk and then stops to rest upon the wrapper of the power bar. Half
eaten and half unwrapped, only the red words power are exposed. This is an
exceptional shot because it reveals the color red and reveals the word power ,
which illustrates the fact that the men in Ripley Enterprise have power and Foley
does not. In the next shot, the man at the desk enters the room once again holding
a suit and Foley turns away from looking at the power bar to blankly staring at the
dull colored suit. This suit represents what Foley could become; a regular guy with
a regular job of being a security guard but for him this isn t going to cut it. Foley is
obsessed with the idea of being higher class than he ever will be and this is
reflected by the way he stared at the power on the wrapper; because power is
something he desperately wants. Foley has an identity in his mind that he is set out
Developing A Healthy Attachment For Children
Steven was born in Russia from an alcoholic mother and father. His parents left him
at an orphanage located in Moscow, Russia. The orphanage was not equipped with
enough staff and were unable to meet the needs of all the children. He spent most of
his time restrained inside of a crib, along with other children. Even though children
were around him, they were restricted of any interaction. He did not learn how to
speak until he was illegally trafficked into the United States at the age of seven, and
that was very limited. The purpose of this case study is to determine the factors
during infancy and early childhood that prevented him in developing a healthy
attachment. According to Joan Greg Cook (2007), attachment can be defined by, An...

emotional comfort. Instead, he displayed severe signs of aggression and distrust.
According to Mary Ainsworth s research on attachment, Steven may fall into the
insecure disorganized attachment. According to Joan Greg Cook, this category of
attachment is defined by, Unhealthy type of attachment indicated when infants seem
confused or dazed or show contradictory behaviors (p. 184). This attachment style
has recently been added by more current researchers, expanding Mary Ainsworth s
findings. Steven displayed this attachment style by maintaining a dissociative state
when around others, or acting violent out of nowhere. As a toddler, he would
respond negatively to any staff that would occasionally bring him food by throwing
the food back at the staff and on the floor, and even overindulging to the extent of
regurgitating. It is important to note, Steven was restrained in his crib before acts of
violence were displayed, therefore this constant restriction was a factor as he became
older in forming a healthy attachment. Steven s caregivers did
Strategic Planning Nursing Process
Strategic Planning and Nursing Process Every decision making process requires the
basic steps of problem identification, intervention and evaluation. In healthcare, both
the nursing process and strategic planning involve proper identification of a problem,
gathering of data, formulating a plan, and deciding which intervention is the best to
implement. After the intervention, evaluation is necessary. Strategic planning and
the nursing process both are essential when developing medical informatics. The goal
of this paper to identify the nurse s role in both strategic planning and the nursing
process, describe the differences between them, and how nurses can become more

Nurses are well suited to participate in the strategic planning of the organization
while utilizing the nursing process and informatics (Sewell J., Thede, L. 2013). .
How Nurses Can be More Involved in the Strategic Planning Process Nurses can act
as initiators and developers of a changing trend in health care that is informatics. It
will allow for transitioning into the technological era. With the rapid advancements in
technology, nurses are more involved in the strategic planning process with the use of
nursing informatics. The chief nursing informatics officer (CNIO) plays a key role in
decision making by bridging the gap between the nursing and information technology.
The CNIO functions include selection and implementation of health information
systems and managing clinical initiatives (Hebda and Czar, 2013). Broad knowledge
in nursing, information technology, and management are needed for the CNIO to
lead and perform tasks. Involvement of nurses at all levels is significant to the
development of effective ways to use technology in the care of patients as well as the
strategic planning of the organization (Drenkard, 2012). Conclusion Healthcare is
expanding and moving toward information systems. There is a greater demand for
healthcare professionals to increase involvement with the strategic planning process
(Sewell J., Thede, L. 2013). Nurses are at the heart of this and are
Richard I Biography
Richard the I is a famous King of England that was alive in the 12th century, and
one of the earliest monarchs of England. He was the Great Great Grandson of
William the Conqueror(Brundage, 10). He was a member of the House of
Angevin, which was composed of him, his father, and his brother John(Brundage,
12). He is a relatively famous King of England, renowned for his fighting skills,
and nickname Richard Coeur de Lion translated Richard the Lionheart . Richard
was born on the 8th of September, 1157 in Oxford, England(Brundage, 9). He was
the son of King Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitaine(Brundage, 9). He had 4
legitimate brothers, William IX(Count of Poitiers), Henry the Young King,
Geoffrey II(Duke of Brittany), and John(King of England)(Brundage, 10). William
IX died before Richard was born. Richard grew up in Europe with his mother. He
most likely did not know very much English and spoke mostly French(Brundage,
21). At the age of 14, he became the Duke of Aquitaine, an area of land in the
southwest of France controlled by his mother. Richard learnt most of his battle
skills in Aquitaine, and this is really where he became the warrior we see later on
in his life. ADD THESIS. When considering the effect that Richard may have had on

Richard, as we have seen, was a great warrior. This was probably one of the major
reasons why we still remember him today. He was given the name Richard the
Lionheart as a testament to his fighting skills. The name Richard the Lionheart
probably captured many people s attentions throughout history, because of its fear
and power associated with such a name. The name also allows for a romanticization
of the Kings of England, because the name Lionheart could easily be thought of as a
brave man in shining armour heading out to save a

Harold En Italie Analysis
The second symphony by French composer Berlioz (1803 1869): Harold en Italie,
Symphonie en quatre parties avc un Alto principal, Op. 16 was commissioned but
never performed by the Italian violin virtuoso Paganini who had an intention to
showcase his new Stradivari viola. Even though Paganini trusted Berlioz to write
suitable music for his new instrument, his disappointment about a sketch in one of
the movements led to ill fated conclusion. Unluckily, due to incompetent
conductor, plentiful wrong notes and missed entries by the orchestra, the premiere
was unsatisfactory for Berlioz who later commented it was the sheer murder .
According to https://www.britannica.com/topic/Harold in Italy Op 16, Barlioz
stated, My idea was to write a series of scenes for the orchestra in which the solo
viola would be involved as a more or less active character, always retaining its own
individuality. By placing the viola in the midst of poetic recollections of my
wanderings in the [Italian] Abruzzi, I wished to make of it a sort of melancholy
dreamer after the manner of Byron s Childe Harold. Thus the title: Harold in Italy.
This piece was inspired by the English poet Lord Byron (1788 1824) and his epic
narrative poem: Childe Harold s Pilgrimage, which was dedicated to his lady
Charlotte Harley. This storyline was gained after travelling through Portugal, the
Mediterranean and Aegean Sea that is why this poem was thought to be his own
autobiography which revealed a lot of himself. Harold
Advantages Of Moving To Oregon
Hi Pa and Ma! I have reached Oregon and it is such an amazing place with so many
advantages. You must move to Oregon and come live here. One reason why you
should move to Oregon is because the soil is very fertile. There is a vast amount of
land here that is available for farming. This is a benefit because fertile soil can result
in more farming. When farming flourishes, food can grow and families can make
money by eating food or selling them to others. Another reason why you should move
to Oregonis to escape the amount of debt that we have to pay in Virginia. Coming
here is a good idea because we do not have to pay our debts and can start a new life.
Since there is so much land, farming is such an easy thing to do here. If farming does
Summary Of The Mother And It Rainy Last Night
The Mother (1963) by Gwendolyn Brooks and a video of a poem called It Rained
Last Night: by Jasmine Nicole Mann Alexis Marie.
The Mother and It Rained Last Night are both poems about abortion. They are similar
with the focus of conveying the emotional pain and anguish felt by the woman some
unknown time after the abortion.
The Mother is a dramatic monologue that starts out in second person language where
the speaker is speaking to an audience in the first stanza. The use of rhymes and the
specific breaks in the lines for dramatic pauses, along with purposeful commas to
slow the flow, or no commas that make one want to rush through the sentence, invoke
powerful emotions of sadness.
The speaker starts with telling us how abortions will not let one forget and she goes
on to expand on what is not forgotten. She utilizes descriptive imagery such as in the
sentence, the damp small pulps with a little or no hair seems to infer to the status of
the fetus s development when aborted. She goes on to state the things that the
children will not become and of all the things that as a mother of young children will
not experience. I appreciated the hyperbole in the last line of this stanza, Return for a
snack of them, with gobbling mother eye, which seems to infer to the way mothers
tend to watch and cherish their children.
In the second stanza the tormenting emotions increase, and she starts speaking in first
person and addressing her own pain providing us details

With Christian Brothers their plan focus on the whole university and responsibilities
are designated by university personnel, while the university of Cincinnati roles of
responsibility are designated by the athletic department staff.
What are they missing?
I believe Christian Brothers University is missing a separate plan that will cover their
athletic department. It is very important for the athletic department to have their own
plan to assist with the student athletes and manage crowd control to ensure safety in
case of an emergency. However, I would not omit anything in the risk/crisis
management plan. Even though, the Christian Brother s university does not have
specific plans for its athletic department, I do admire the fact that they have a disaster
plan in place. .

Values in Pindar Essay
Values in Pindar
Pindar was composing his poetry at the start of the fifth century B.C. at a similar
time to Aeschylus, and as much as three centuries after the completion of Homer s
works. The values he displays, however, do not seem to have developed since the
time of Homer; Pindar s ethics are those of a shame culture, and in this way
thoroughly Homeric. They are aristocratic, favouring the strong, powerful ruler over
the weak and dominated. Wealth and prosperity are praised, not frowned upon.
Nietzsche approved of Pindar s praise of the strong, be they tyrants or athletes (or
indeed both), and conversely disapproved of the way Socrates later denied the good
to be had in strength and power. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Pindar states that there is a something greater than wealth , a glory that surpasses all
things material. Honour in Homer is represented in a concrete manner through
material prizes, but for Pindar the wealth that comes from victory is not itself the
source of joy: the joy is external. Furthermore, while Pindar does not scorn wealth
and the aristocracy, he does see greed and over ambition in a highly negative light.

Auguste Rodin s Gates Of Hell
Essay 2: An Analysis of Figural Movement and Non Textual Depictions of Dante
Alighieri s The Divine Comedy in the Sculptural Motivations of Auguste Rodin s
Gates of Hell.
The primary motivation for Auguste Rodin s Gates of Hell are based on the desire to
interpret Dante Alighieri s The Divine Comedy through amore individual response to
the text. Rodin avoided a traditional interpretation of Dante s narrative by creating his
own form of chaotic view of hell through a modern 19th century perspective.
During this the middle to late 19th century, Rodin sought shift the focus away from
literary interpretations of art, which had become the dominant form of
interpretation of classical themes in France. The Gates of Hell was to avoid these
text based views of Dante s work as a motivation for Rodin s commission for the
doors as an early form of modernity in sculpture:

In this compositional form, the chaos of human forms seen suffering and writhing
in hell are one way in which Rodin deviated from the text that he was initially
supposed to follow from the Divine Comedy. Rodin, therefore , was motivated by a
more active and personal view of the chaos of hell, which was individualistically
interpretative and went against traditional forms of literary interpretation in French
classical art. The chaos of the human forms depicted on the gates of hell define the
individualism of the sculptor s point of view, which sought to remove the sickly
aspects of literary culture that was so dominant in French artistic culture. Rodin
sought to move away from these sometimes gaudy expressions of literary heroism to
a more realistic, chaotic, and despairing view of hell through Rodin s sculptural
College Is A Waste Of Time And Money
General Education It is likely that anyone doing research on the value of a general

article titled College is a Waste of Time and Money Bird makes a logical argument
against the benefits of education for the masses. Despite arguing against a college

elitist? First, she champions for the masses to be content with careers as being
domestic servants (1964, p. 6 8). Second, Bird claims more people could be
employed if American society were to reclassify a domestic position as one of
equality with the employer. I am not sure how daft she thinks her readers to be, but
I do not know anyone who perceives someone who scrubs a toilet to be of equal
stature (less it is our own family member). How many CEOs or school principals
feel equally at home with their head in a commode or the janitor in their building or
school to be of equal stature? In Bird s case she writes, people should aim lower to

Boston Massacre Dbq
On March 5, 1770...The Boston Massacre, known as the Incident on King Street
by the British, was an incident on March 5, 1770, in which British Army soldiers
shot and killed people while under attack by a lot of colonists. There was not a
massacre on March 5, 1770 in Boston because. According to the sources B,C and D
say that the colonists had weapons and they were also attacking in the massacre. The
evidence that supports my claims is that in documents B,C,D the colonists are
clearly seen with weapons according to the documents with the gazette, it said that
the colonists had weapons and were involved in the fight. This supports my own
opinion because in document b the colonists are seen with some type of sword or
golf club. My second reason

these stabbing pains that he has been having overall these years Could the nerve
have been damaged Answer The location of the pain certainly makes one think of
shingles. Since the virus that causes shingles remains permanently in those nerves, it
seems possible to me that some kind of chronic neuritis is possible. There is no true
cure for this virus, though outbreaks can sometimes be helped by gamma globulin or
immune sera from people with chickenpox or some antiviral drugs. If the
homeopathic cure is helping, that is a blessing. Hopefully it will continue to work

Impact of Celebrity Endorsement on Overall Brand
Impact of Celebrity Endorsement on Overall Brand

Synopsis
The general belief among advertisers is that brand communication messages delivered
by celebrities and famous personalities generate a higher appeal, attention and recall
than those executed by non celebrities. The quick message reach and impact are all

Celebrities reflect the modern society, transfer their associated qualities to the brand
and project a living, breathing image to the product as opposed to a faceless entity.
This triggers a chain of social influence which allows the consumers to be in accord
instantly with the communicated attitude.
As discussed by Kelman (1961), the basis for the effectiveness of celebrity endorsed
advertising can be linked to this process of identification and internalization of the
desired behaviour. Price of fame may be high for the celebrity endorsed brands but
they have both what the markets and the everyday common man want attention,
power and star sizzle.
In the same breath, the theoretical model hierarchy of effects suggests that for a
purchase to take place, the consumer must be first aware of the product, then
inculcate a liking towards it, and finally develop an intention to acquire it. This
ascension is catalysed by celebrity presence during brand promotion. Be it Rajnikant
making a demographic connection or the new avatar of Amitabh Bachchan forging a
psychological attachment, they carry a mass appeal and establish instant brand
credibility while adopting a subtle persuasive approach. It is presumed that a
personality s dynamic qualities of attractiveness, likeability and appeal are
superimposed on the brand image and lead it to acceptance by their fans and the
general mass.

Routine Activity Theory And Social Disorganization Theory
Literature Review
In the literature review there will be different discussions based on past and current

that have influenced student s feelings of safety on campus from research dated
from 1999 and back. The current research section will cover research from 2000 to

The Clery Act is named in memory of 19 year old Lehigh University freshman

My Experience At The Art Department
Everyone has a passion in life mine is art. Not going to galleries and looking at
paintings by artists from the 1800s but using paint and pencils to show me and my
life. The saying A picture shows a thousand words which is very true but in my case a
painting shows a thousand emotions.
I ve never hated school but I ve always loved being in the art department. All the
different possibilities, the different sizes of paper. It is somewhere that I feel as if I
am me and nothing will ever change that. Picking up a paintbrush and letting my
imagination run wild has always been so much easier than showing anyone my
emotions. From red to blue, black to yellow, there is a colour to represent how I am
feeling. The colour wheel never lets me ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It gives me a chance to make something which is mine, it may never become a
colour used by millions each day but it has a purpose to me and my work, it is
something that I can add to my work that relates to me and my emotions. In art
there are seven visual elements texture, tone, line, shape, form, pattern and colour
and in second year when I was first introduced to these, they never really made
sense. Now it all makes complete sense, as when I m drawing I enter another world
and I use these elements all the time. The different patterns in a piece, the dark and
light tones it just makes my work mine. I can tell how I felt that day from how dark
piece is, the simple dark shading can convey tonnes of different emotions. Art is a
part of my life that I use and think about everyday. It is something which I can just
escape into, leaving the world behind me.
Art is a way where I can be right no matter what anyone else thinks. Throughout

than shouting and screaming about my problematic life, I picked a paint brush up.

When I found the courage to come to school, it had turned into me hiding in the art

Self Critique Of Charles Kebler As Sales Manager Essay
Title: Self Critique of Charles Kebler as Sales Manager
Salesperson Assignment: Sophia Barrow
Performance Evaluation Self Critique
Section One Overall Performance Critique:
1.What did you do well in the meeting?
After going back and reviewing my performance evaluation of Sophia Barrow, I
feel like I did a very good job overall. The first thing I feel like I did well during the
meeting was keeping the conversation balanced. Keeping the conversation balanced
and not talking too much was my main issue going into the meeting. The next thing
I feel like I did really well on was asking for her opinion on her ratings of herself
throughout the meeting. To be an effective salesmanager you need to understand the
reasons behind the ratings the reps are giving themselves. I am very pleased with my
performance overall and feel excellent about the outcome of the meeting.
2.How effective do you think the meeting was for the salesperson you evaluated, and
what cues and evidence lead you to this conclusion?
I think the meeting was very effective for Sophia Barrow because she always
seemed to agree with my ratings or at least adjust her ratings of herself after our
discussion. With that being said I feel like she was very happy and surprised with
the promotion I offered her. I think this was a big clue that the meeting was very
effective overall. Another piece of evidence that I used to evaluate the effectiveness
of the meeting was the fact that she seemed to really be on the same
##ry And Metaphors In Roethke s Elegy For Jane
Ariel Haskins Elegy for Jane Two of the most beautiful combinations, to me, are
the use of imagery and metaphors. With the use of these two figures of speech the
reader is able to paint a complete, detail picture in their from the piece they are
reading. In Elegy for Jane , the speaker is standing over the grave of a student,
Jane, of his who fell of a horse to her death. Roethke uses imagery and diction,
among other figures of speech, to help the reader picture the young Jane that he
loved and knew by using nature to make the connection. Roethke goes on
throughout the poem to compare Jane to various types of birds, sceneries, feelings
and aspects of nature by not only explaining her physical attributes but her
personality as well. This poem struck my curiosity immediately. My first thought
was, Wow, this man ha a deep love and admiration for Jane. I couldn t understand
how a teacher was able to understand and care for a student that much. Roethke s
use of detail through diction and imagery paints a vivid picture of Jane, almost as
if she was standing in front of you, making the reader ponder the dynamics of the
relationship between Jane her this teacher. The poem opens with Roethke
describing Jane s exterior in the first lines: I remember the neckcurls, limp and
damp as tendrils; And her quick look, a sidelong pickerel smile; ( 1 2 ) By using the
simile limp and damp as tendrils and the metaphor sidelong pickerel smile, I began to

The two models of urban recreation were New York s Central Park and Chicago s

was created because Kasson states the two projects represented a broad common

model of social order, cohesion, and tranquility for fractious people; (pg. 11).

A Woman Governing Over Texas
No one would had imagined a woman governing over Texas, a state ruled by
conservative white cowboys. Ann Richards was the second woman to become the
Lieutenant Governor of Texas in 1990. She became the hero of minorities, woman,
gay men, and lesbians, and worked for a New Texas where opportunities and power
would be given to those groups. Ann Richardsis known as the most efficient person
in a line of long Texasprogressives who fought for control over Texas when the state
was a Democratic Stronghold . Her loss against Gorge W. Bush after her first term as
governor, was a strong indication that the generations of Democrats ruling Texas had
ended.
Before Ann Richards made a career in politics, she had a career as a mother and wife.
Ann was born in Waco, Texas on September 1 of 1933. Waco back then was
segregated, had strong religious ideas, and its people where known as being strict
conservatives. Ann met her future husband in 1949 when Ann and David where

wanted to leave Waco and follow David to Austin where David was studying to
become a lawyer at the University of Texas. Ann s mother, Eleanor, didn t seem
that it was a good idea for her baby girl leave her hometown. Ann was enrolled at

in 1953 and four years later, Ann was pregnant with her first daughter, Cecile. David

Themes In A River Runs Through It
A River Runs through It, by Norman Maclean,is a story about a family of a
Minister father, a mother and their two sons living in a small town in Montana.
The film begins with the narrator Norman, the older brother of the two explaining
how his father had asked him to write their family story. As the film continues it
becomes clear how different the brothers become. In A River Runs Through It
brothers, Norman and Paul are very different; Paul tends to act before thinking
while Norman on the other hand, tends to think about his every move with
precision, Paul became a reporter while Norman became a professor and poet, Paul
is more attracted to Fly Fishing and Norman is more drawn to his religion. One of
the main differences between Paul and Norman is their thinking; Paul tends to act
without thinking,. Paul is more likely to physically fight someone who he disagrees
with, he acts with his heart not his mind. Paul will fight for the people he cares
about with no hesitation, when he and Maybelle were on a date together and
someone made a disrespectful comment to Maybelle and did not treat her with the
same respect that was given to the brothers and Jessie. He defended Maybelle to the
point he was arrested, and was put in jail for Norman to pick him up. Paul knew
without a fight that he was tougher than anyone alive. Norman on the other hand,
tends to think about his every move with great detail, in a situation Norman would
rather defend himself with his words rather than

for instance, environmental influences, genetic factors, existing illnesses and so on.
However, this literature review will primarily focus on controllable risk factors.

The World Of Yesterday, By Anthea Bell
Stefan Zweig s The World of Yesterday originally published in 1942 and translated
into English in 2009 by Anthea Bell is a perceptive memoir that skillfully recounts
the life of Zweig (a Jewish middle class male) beginning with his childhood in
Vienna, Austria pre World War I and ends right before Zweig s suicide in 1942.
During his account, Zweig provides critical commentary on various historical events
that is invaluable when it comes to putting these events in the context of the
everyday life of the individuals living through them. He also provides accounts of
many societal structures as well as of interesting individuals that are not necessarily
important in the grand scheme of things but help the reader build a more complete
picture of the period. Throughout the book, Zweig maintains a cautionary as well as
a didactic tone that attempts to caution the reader about how society can change so
drastically and rapidly. Overall, Zweig s book is an excellent memoir that helps put
major historical events into context; however, the book also has some problems that
undermine the delivery of the cautionary message of the book. This book is a
memoir by Stefan Zweigthat recounts his life and critically analyses some of the
major world events that Zweig lived through. The setting at the beginning of the book
is Vienna, Austriain the Pre World I years, by the end of the book the setting has
changed many times because the author travels throughout Europe namely to Paris,

The Charleston was a dance that was often performed by the descendants of African
slaves in the American south. It is a blend of African and European sources, and it
has had a broad influence on American life and art Dawn Lille. The Charlestonwas by
the composer/pianist James P. Johnson and originated in a broadway show called
Runnin Wild, where the rhythm was popularized in mainstream dancemusic in the
United States. The peak of this dance by the people was mid 1926 to 1927. At first,
the step started with a simple twisting of the feet, to rhythm in a lazy sort of way.
When the dance hit Harlem, a new version was added. It became a fast kicking step,...

The Unavoidable Causes Of The Civil War
The division between the North and the South in terms of economy, society, and
ideology caused the civil war. The industrial North was afraid that the agricultural

Factors Responsible For The Shortage Of Nurses Essay
Healthcare organizations are composed of expertly trained workers whose goal is
to meet the health related needs of people. Nursing services are an integral part of
healthcare organizations. However, the shortage of qualified nurses has been
highlighted as one of the greatest blockages to accomplishing the health organization
s goals. How should the shortage of nurses be identified today? In order to answer
this question, this research paper would focus on identifying the factors responsible
for the shortage of nurses and possible solutions to it. Nursing is the fundamental part
of healthcare services. The lack of nurses is not new and has been progressing in
numerous countries for not less than a decade. The statistical data shows that about
73% of doctors reported that nurses can deal with the cases in which they tend to.
Such a finding demonstrates, to the point that expanding the quantity of nursing
services, along with the expansion of their roles in different medicinal service
settings could emphatically impact quiet care crosswise over healthcare realms
(Donelan,2013). The research also suggests that around 120,000 nurses will leave the
workforce by 2016, bringing about the comparative nursing work power
demographics watched 10 years before.(Straiger,2012). To find out the reason behind
this kind of shortage of nurses, this research paper will utilize scientific literature and
other relevant documents. Through the analysis, the paper will argue about the factors
The Death Of An Ancient Greek Philosopher
Many individuals fear the thought of death given that they feel the uneasiness of not
knowing what happens when one is dead. For example, some fear things like a
continuation of their sense perception post death allowing the possibility of being
punished for all the bad actions in their lifetime. Epicurus, an ancient Greek
philosopher of the Hellenistic period of 323 31 BCE, believed that deathis the end of
our existence and thus argued that the act of fearing death is irrational (Letter to
Menoeceus, 10.124 125). The Epicurean argument I will discuss in this paper is in
support of him claiming the fearof death is irrational is better titled as the privation
of experience argument. In his own words Epicurus claimed that death is nothing
to us in his Letter to Menoeceus (10.124). It is important to clarify that in the
privation of experience argument Epicurus speaks on the state of being dead and
not the process of death. So, for the purpose of this essay, like Epicurus, I will
accept the notion that death is the end of our existence. In this essay I will present
the privation of experience argument in my own words based on my interpretation of
his argument. I will also explain how this Epicurean argument is valid given that one
can live a happy comfortable life simply by having the right attitude about the state of
being dead.
Before I present my interpretation of Epicurus privation of experience argument I
will state that Epicurus held a hedonistic point of view

The Bill Of Rights Essay.pdf

  • 1. The Bill Of Rights Essay Crafting an essay on the topic of "The Bill of Rights" can be both challenging and rewarding. The difficulty lies not only in presenting a comprehensive understanding of the historical context and significance of the Bill of Rights but also in analyzing its impact on contemporary society. This task requires meticulous research to delve into the origins, debates, and subsequent interpretations of the amendments. Moreover, weaving a cohesive narrative that effectively communicates the relevance of each right to present-day issues demands a thoughtful and analytical approach. One must navigate through the complexities of legal language, political philosophy, and historical events to provide a well-rounded perspective. Balancing the exploration of individual amendments with an overarching understanding of how they collectively shape the principles of justice and liberty requires a nuanced grasp of constitutional law and political theory. • 2. Zebra s Lawsuit Summary There are a couple parties that are part of this lawsuit. On Plaintiffs side we have, Lynx System Developers, INC, and ISOLYNX, LLC. On the Defendants side we have, Zebra Enterprise Solutions Corporation, and ZIH Corporation. From my understating, over the last couple of years the Zebra Enterprise Solutions Corporations have been stealing technological innovations for the real time tracking of athletes and game analysis from Lynx System Developers. Lynx System Developers rolled out their own player tracking system for a trial run during the 2012 2013 season. Lynx System Developers said that Zebra Enterprise Solutions Corporation had misappropriated trade secrets, interfered with existing business relationships and wrongfully filed patent... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Lynx System Developers trusted Zebra to comply with their written confidentiality agreements with Lynx, however, Zebra betrayed Lynx. There were 12 things listed the Nature of the Action. These include: Misappropriation of trade secrets; breach of contract; fraud; and intentional interference with existing contractual and advantageous business. These are just a few of them. Based on the discussions that we ve previously have had in class, I think that Zebra is going to lose this lawsuit. I think this because Zebra knows that they have wrongfully taken and has used Lynx invention. The proof is in that pudding. If it wasn t for Lynx introducing Zebra to their technologies, then Zebra wouldn t be working with the NFL to roll out to all the 31 NFL stadiums this season. I think that is lawsuit, just like most lawsuits, are going to take a while till it gets resolved. I think that when it finally does get resolved, Zebra Enterprise Solutions is going to have to pay Lynx System Developers for using their
  • 3. Slavery In The Late 17th Century Virginia Slavery was caused by economic factors of the English settlers in the late 17th century. Planters primarily relied on indentured servitude, in order to facilitate their need for labor. Before the 1680 s, Indentured Servitude was the primary source of labor in the newly developed colonies but after the 1680 s, the population of the Indentured Servants decreased, exponentially. The Seventeenth century in Virginia was an unruly and rebellious time as the labour force, being both white and some black servants, was becoming more and more disloyal. The economic prosperity of the colonies was primarily dependent on the amount of tobacco produced. The growing of tobacco, needed a large amount of land, with a large stable work force that was affordable, the planters of tobacco however were only receiving the very scum and off scouring from England from the merchants who were supplying the servants... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This coupled with the fact that the servants did not hold their masters in high regard, created an enormous economic problem as the planters had now found themselves tied to an economic system (slavery) over which they had little control. The changes in tobacco prices made wage earners and planters of small farms subject to poverty as the amount of money and time invested to the labour force was not making its return. This increase in a demand for large stable work forces combined with the availability of African slaves, led to the use of slavery in Virginia and ultimately the United States. Before the end of the century it is believed the first negro slaves came from Barbados, however it is argued in T.H Breens The Giddy Multitude that this is doubtful as Virginian planters wouldn t want to invest what small capital they had into labourers who had very little skill in harvesting tobacco and who could easily die after a seasons
  • 4. Good And Evil In Frankenstein The novel tells the story of the scientist Victor Frankenstein who loses touch with reality while creating a new form of life, a monstrous being who nevertheless has human character traits. The nameless creature appears to be a representation of evil, a character representing unconscious, instinctual drives. Yet, the creature becomes only a monster due to denied love and rejection by Victor Frankenstein. Thus, he swears to take revenge, transforming into a monster. Thus, Frankensteinpresents two characters that cannot be easily determined good or evil as human beings have both qualities within themselves. When examining Shelley s Frankenstein, one should consider the figure of the creator, Victor Frankenstein. He was born to Caroline and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As he reads these old works, Victor is not able to understand that these theories have long been invalidated. With the ideas of alchemy, the study of the philosopher s stone and the elixir of life, he leaves his home to study at the university in Ingolstadt, Germany. After the death of his mother Caroline, he feels the pain of solitude and retreats in the acquisition of knowledge, learning about the limits of science and the human body. First, one has the impression that Victor s interests in creating a being is only of honourable nature: I thought that if I could bestow animation upon lifeless matter, I might in process of time (although I now find it impossible) renew life where death had apparently devoted the body of corruption (Shelley 53). However, he seems to be an unreliable narrator. The reader develops doubts whether his true intentions are as noble as he tries to present. It appears that the true interest is quite egoistic, as he desires to gain fame: a light so brilliant and wondrous, yet so simple, that while I became dizzy with the immensity of the prospect which it illustrated, I was surprised, that among so many men of genius who had directed their enquiries towards the same science, that I alone should be reserved to discover so astonishing a secret (Shelley
  • 5. Is The Theme Of Power In The Film Out Of Sight By Steven... In the film Out of Sight (Steven Soderbergh, 1998) elements of mise en scene, lighting, editing and characters reveal the themes of identity, love and power. The theme of power directly relates to the economic boom in the United States in the 1990s and the population s strive for success. These themes are brought out through the repetitive use of the colorredin the film and are also used to relate back to the title. In relation to other American action films released in 1998, Out of Sight is a very fast faced movie much like the rest of them. The fast paced editing style that Soderbergh utilized in the film relates very much to the race to power that was so prevalent in the 1990s. When the economy started to boom, the people of the country ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first shot of this sequence is of Foley sitting in a chair at a desk with a red colored wall behind him. Right away the color red is introduced on the wall as well as on the desk in pens, the top of a yogurt, a potted plant and the wrapper of a power bar. After the man who was at the desk in front of Foley leaves the room, Foley s eyes gaze upon the contents of the desk. The camera pans over the red objects on the desk and then stops to rest upon the wrapper of the power bar. Half eaten and half unwrapped, only the red words power are exposed. This is an exceptional shot because it reveals the color red and reveals the word power , which illustrates the fact that the men in Ripley Enterprise have power and Foley does not. In the next shot, the man at the desk enters the room once again holding a suit and Foley turns away from looking at the power bar to blankly staring at the dull colored suit. This suit represents what Foley could become; a regular guy with a regular job of being a security guard but for him this isn t going to cut it. Foley is obsessed with the idea of being higher class than he ever will be and this is reflected by the way he stared at the power on the wrapper; because power is something he desperately wants. Foley has an identity in his mind that he is set out

The orphanage was not equipped with enough staff and were unable to meet the needs of all the children. He spent most of his time restrained inside of a crib, along with other children. Even though children were around him, they were restricted of any interaction. He did not learn how to speak until he was illegally trafficked into the United States at the age of seven, and that was very limited. Without an animate or inanimate attachment figure or object, he believed when a monkey tried to seek closeness and showed distress without comfort, the monkey would develop poor attachment. This research relates to human infants, such as Steven because he rejected any comfort due to never having a secure base of emotional comfort. Instead, he displayed severe signs of aggression and distrust. According to Mary Ainsworth s research on attachment, Steven may fall into the insecure disorganized attachment. According to Joan Greg Cook, this category of attachment is defined by, Unhealthy type of attachment indicated when infants seem confused or dazed or show contradictory behaviors (p. 184). This attachment style has recently been added by more current researchers, expanding Mary Ainsworth s findings. Steven displayed this attachment style by maintaining a dissociative state when around others, or acting violent out of nowhere. As a toddler, he would respond negatively to any staff that would occasionally bring him food by throwing the food back at the staff and on the floor, and even overindulging to the extent of regurgitating. It is important to note, Steven was restrained in his crib before acts of violence were displayed, therefore this constant restriction was a factor as he became older in forming a healthy attachment. Steven s caregivers did

The chief nursing informatics officer (CNIO) plays a key role in decision making by bridging the gap between the nursing and information technology. The CNIO functions include selection and implementation of health information systems and managing clinical initiatives (Hebda and Czar, 2013). Broad knowledge in nursing, information technology, and management are needed for the CNIO to lead and perform tasks. Involvement of nurses at all levels is significant to the development of effective ways to use technology in the care of patients as well as the strategic planning of the organization (Drenkard, 2012). Conclusion Healthcare is expanding and moving toward information systems. There is a greater demand for healthcare professionals to increase involvement with the strategic planning process (Sewell J., Thede, L. 2013). Nurses are at the heart of this and are

He was the Great Great Grandson of William the Conqueror(Brundage, 10). He was a member of the House of Angevin, which was composed of him, his father, and his brother John(Brundage, 12). He is a relatively famous King of England, renowned for his fighting skills, and nickname Richard Coeur de Lion translated Richard the Lionheart . Richard was born on the 8th of September, 1157 in Oxford, England(Brundage, 9). He was the son of King Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitaine(Brundage, 9). Richard grew up in Europe with his mother. He most likely did not know very much English and spoke mostly French(Brundage, 21). At the age of 14, he became the Duke of Aquitaine, an area of land in the southwest of France controlled by his mother. Harold En Italie Analysis The second symphony by French composer Berlioz (1803 1869): Harold en Italie, Symphonie en quatre parties avc un Alto principal, Op. 16 was commissioned but never performed by the Italian violin virtuoso Paganini who had an intention to showcase his new Stradivari viola. Even though Paganini trusted Berlioz to write suitable music for his new instrument, his disappointment about a sketch in one of the movements led to ill fated conclusion. Unluckily, due to incompetent conductor, plentiful wrong notes and missed entries by the orchestra, the premiere was unsatisfactory for Berlioz who later commented it was the sheer murder . According to https://www.britannica.com/topic/Harold in Italy Op 16, Barlioz stated, My idea was to write a series of scenes for the orchestra in which the solo viola would be involved as a more or less active character, always retaining its own individuality. By placing the viola in the midst of poetic recollections of my wanderings in the [Italian] Abruzzi, I wished to make of it a sort of melancholy dreamer after the manner of Byron s Childe Harold. Thus the title: Harold in Italy. This piece was inspired by the English poet Lord Byron (1788 1824) and his epic narrative poem: Childe Harold s Pilgrimage, which was dedicated to his lady Charlotte Harley. This storyline was gained after travelling through Portugal, the Mediterranean and Aegean Sea that is why this poem was thought to be his own autobiography which revealed a lot of himself. Harold

One reason why you should move to Oregon is because the soil is very fertile. There is a vast amount of land here that is available for farming. This is a benefit because fertile soil can result in more farming. When farming flourishes, food can grow and families can make money by eating food or selling them to others. The Mother and It Rained Last Night are both poems about abortion. They are similar with the focus of conveying the emotional pain and anguish felt by the woman some unknown time after the abortion. The Mother is a dramatic monologue that starts out in second person language where the speaker is speaking to an audience in the first stanza. The use of rhymes and the specific breaks in the lines for dramatic pauses, along with purposeful commas to slow the flow, or no commas that make one want to rush through the sentence, invoke powerful emotions of sadness. The speaker starts with telling us how abortions will not let one forget and she goes on to expand on what is not forgotten. She utilizes descriptive imagery such as in the sentence, the damp small pulps with a little or no hair seems to infer to the status of the fetus s development when aborted. She goes on to state the things that the children will not become and of all the things that as a mother of young children will not experience. I appreciated the hyperbole in the last line of this stanza, Return for a snack of them, with gobbling mother eye, which seems to infer to the way mothers tend to watch and cherish their children. In the second stanza the tormenting emotions increase, and she starts speaking in first person and addressing her own pain providing us details

Values in Pindar Essay Values in Pindar Pindar was composing his poetry at the start of the fifth century B.C. at a similar time to Aeschylus, and as much as three centuries after the completion of Homer s works. The values he displays, however, do not seem to have developed since the time of Homer; Pindar s ethics are those of a shame culture, and in this way thoroughly Homeric. They are aristocratic, favouring the strong, powerful ruler over the weak and dominated. Wealth and prosperity are praised, not frowned upon. Nietzsche approved of Pindar s praise of the strong, be they tyrants or athletes (or indeed both), and conversely disapproved of the way Socrates later denied the good to be had in strength and power. ... Honour in Homer is represented in a concrete manner through material prizes, but for Pindar the wealth that comes from victory is not itself the source of joy: the joy is external. Furthermore, while Pindar does not scorn wealth and the aristocracy, he does see greed and over ambition in a highly negative light. Auguste Rodin s Gates Of Hell Essay 2: An Analysis of Figural Movement and Non Textual Depictions of Dante Alighieri s The Divine Comedy in the Sculptural Motivations of Auguste Rodin s Gates of Hell. The primary motivation for Auguste Rodin s Gates of Hell are based on the desire to interpret Dante Alighieri s The Divine Comedy through amore individual response to the text. Rodin avoided a traditional interpretation of Dante s narrative by creating his own form of chaotic view of hell through a modern 19th century perspective. During this the middle to late 19th century, Rodin sought shift the focus away from literary interpretations of art, which had become the dominant form of interpretation of classical themes in France. College Is A Waste Of Time And Money General Education It is likely that anyone doing research on the value of a general education (GE) would run across one of the many Caroline Bird articles. In a 1975 article titled College is a Waste of Time and Money Bird makes a logical argument against the benefits of education for the masses. Despite arguing against a college education, Bird, on the other hand, held a master s degree and taught at Vassar College in New York, the same school she graduated. According to U.S. News World Report (2015), Vassar College s ranking in the 2015 edition of Best Colleges is National Liberal Arts Colleges, 11. Its tuition and fees are $49,570 (2014 15), and Classes with fewer than 20 students [is] (63.7%). This indicates to me that Vassar is a prestigious college. All in all, I cannot help wonder, is Bird as an elitist? First, she champions for the masses to be content with careers as being domestic servants (1964, p. 6 8). Second, Bird claims more people could be employed if American society were to reclassify a domestic position as one of equality with the employer. I am not sure how daft she thinks her readers to be, but I do not know anyone who perceives someone who scrubs a toilet to be of equal stature (less it is our own family member). How many CEOs or school principals feel equally at home with their head in a commode or the janitor in their building or school to be of equal stature? In Bird s case she writes, people should aim lower to meet the social

The first thing I feel like I did well during the meeting was keeping the conversation balanced. Keeping the conversation balanced and not talking too much was my main issue going into the meeting. The next thing I feel like I did really well on was asking for her opinion on her ratings of herself throughout the meeting. To be an effective salesmanager you need to understand the reasons behind the ratings the reps are giving themselves. I am very pleased with my performance overall and feel excellent about the outcome of the meeting. 2.How effective do you think the meeting was for the salesperson you evaluated, and what cues and evidence lead you to this conclusion? I think the meeting was very effective for Sophia Barrow because she always seemed to agree with my ratings or at least adjust her ratings of herself after our discussion. With that being said I feel like she was very happy and surprised with the promotion I offered her. I think this was a big clue that the meeting was very effective overall. Another piece of evidence that I used to evaluate the effectiveness of the meeting was the fact that she seemed to really be on the same

With the use of these two figures of speech the reader is able to paint a complete, detail picture in their from the piece they are reading. In Elegy for Jane , the speaker is standing over the grave of a student, Jane, of his who fell of a horse to her death. Roethke uses imagery and diction, among other figures of speech, to help the reader picture the young Jane that he loved and knew by using nature to make the connection. Roethke goes on throughout the poem to compare Jane to various types of birds, sceneries, feelings and aspects of nature by not only explaining her physical attributes but her personality as well. This poem struck my curiosity immediately. My first thought was, Wow, this man ha a deep love and admiration for Jane. I couldn t understand how a teacher was able to understand and care for a student that much. Roethke s use of detail through diction and imagery paints a vivid picture of Jane, almost as if she was standing in front of you, making the reader ponder the dynamics of the relationship between Jane her this teacher. The poem opens with Roethke describing Jane s exterior in the first lines: I remember the neckcurls, limp and damp as tendrils; And her quick look, a sidelong pickerel smile; ( 1 2 ) By using the simile limp and damp as tendrils and the metaphor sidelong pickerel smile, I began to visualize Jane, sitting at a

The World Of Yesterday, By Anthea Bell Stefan Zweig s The World of Yesterday originally published in 1942 and translated into English in 2009 by Anthea Bell is a perceptive memoir that skillfully recounts the life of Zweig (a Jewish middle class male) beginning with his childhood in Vienna, Austria pre World War I and ends right before Zweig s suicide in 1942. During his account, Zweig provides critical commentary on various historical events that is invaluable when it comes to putting these events in the context of the everyday life of the individuals living through them. He also provides accounts of many societal structures as well as of interesting individuals that are not necessarily important in the grand scheme of things but help the reader build a more complete picture of the period. Throughout the book, Zweig maintains a cautionary as well as a didactic tone that attempts to caution the reader about how society can change so drastically and rapidly. Overall, Zweig s book is an excellent memoir that helps put major historical events into context; however, the book also has some problems that undermine the delivery of the cautionary message of the book. This book is a memoir by Stefan Zweigthat recounts his life and critically analyses some of the major world events that Zweig lived through. The setting at the beginning of the book is Vienna, Austriain the Pre World I years, by the end of the book the setting has changed many times because the author travels throughout Europe namely to Paris, Berlin,

Nursing services are an integral part of healthcare organizations. However, the shortage of qualified nurses has been highlighted as one of the greatest blockages to accomplishing the health organization s goals. How should the shortage of nurses be identified today? In order to answer this question, this research paper would focus on identifying the factors responsible for the shortage of nurses and possible solutions to it. Nursing is the fundamental part of healthcare services. The lack of nurses is not new and has been progressing in numerous countries for not less than a decade. The statistical data shows that about 73% of doctors reported that nurses can deal with the cases in which they tend to. Such a finding demonstrates, to the point that expanding the quantity of nursing services, along with the expansion of their roles in different medicinal service settings could emphatically impact quiet care crosswise over healthcare realms (Donelan,2013). The research also suggests that around 120,000 nurses will leave the workforce by 2016, bringing about the comparative nursing work power demographics watched 10 years before.(Straiger,2012). To find out the reason behind this kind of shortage of nurses, this research paper will utilize scientific literature and other relevant documents. Through the analysis, the paper will argue about the factors
  • 44. The Death Of An Ancient Greek Philosopher Many individuals fear the thought of death given that they feel the uneasiness of not knowing what happens when one is dead. For example, some fear things like a continuation of their sense perception post death allowing the possibility of being punished for all the bad actions in their lifetime. Epicurus, an ancient Greek philosopher of the Hellenistic period of 323 31 BCE, believed that deathis the end of our existence and thus argued that the act of fearing death is irrational (Letter to Menoeceus, 10.124 125). The Epicurean argument I will discuss in this paper is in support of him claiming the fearof death is irrational is better titled as the privation of experience argument. In his own words Epicurus claimed that death is nothing to us in his Letter to Menoeceus (10.124). It is important to clarify that in the privation of experience argument Epicurus speaks on the state of being dead and not the process of death. So, for the purpose of this essay, like Epicurus, I will accept the notion that death is the end of our existence. In this essay I will present the privation of experience argument in my own words based on my interpretation of his argument. I will also explain how this Epicurean argument is valid given that one can live a happy comfortable life simply by having the right attitude about the state of being dead. Before I present my interpretation of Epicurus privation of experience argument I will state that Epicurus held a hedonistic point of view
