Crafting an essay on the subject of World War II (WW2) presents both a challenging and
enriching endeavor. The vastness of this historical event, spanning across various continents and
involving numerous nations, adds complexity to the task. The challenge lies not only in
summarizing the intricate details but also in providing a nuanced analysis of the causes, impacts,
and aftermath of the war.
The plethora of perspectives, historical debates, and conflicting narratives surrounding WW2
further complicate the writing process. Researchers and historians often approach this topic with
diverse viewpoints, and weaving a cohesive narrative from these varied sources requires careful
consideration and critical thinking.
Moreover, the sheer volume of information available on World War II can be overwhelming.
Selecting relevant and significant aspects to include in the essay while maintaining a coherent
and focused argument is a demanding task. The need to strike a balance between depth and
breadth of coverage adds another layer of complexity.
Additionally, ensuring the essay's originality and avoiding clichГ©s or overused narratives can
be a daunting challenge. The topic has been explored extensively, making it imperative for the
writer to offer a fresh perspective or contribute a unique angle to the discourse.
Despite these challenges, delving into the depths of World War II for an essay provides an
intellectually stimulating experience. It allows the writer to engage with historical events, analyze
the complexities of human nature, and explore the socio-political dynamics that shaped the
course of the war.
In conclusion, tackling an essay on World War II requires a careful navigation through historical
intricacies, diverse perspectives, and the vast reservoir of information available. The difficulty
lies not only in compiling facts but in presenting a thoughtful, well-argued, and original analysis.
However, the journey of exploring the depths of this pivotal moment in history can be both
challenging and rewarding.

William Frankfurt s Little Book On Bullshit
Consistently, we can see clear cases of both bologna and lying and the differing
outcomes of both these activities. Be that as it may, what is horse crap, precisely?
What are the qualities of bologna? What is reality? Will horse crap be destructive?
The motivation behind this paper is to answer these inquiries while in the meantime
demonstrating that horse crap can most likely once in a while be hurtful. By looking
at: the importance of horse crap as characterized by Harry Frankfurt, why Frankfurt
believes that bologna is hurtful, and an obviously safeguarded unique contention, the
likelihood of mischief from bullshitting will be demonstrated. In Harry Frankfurt s
little book On Bullshit , he recognizes the significance of bologna while in the
meantime demonstrating to us various ways that it can be destructive. The substance
of horse crap fixates on the thought that bullshitters have no sympathy toward reality.
In any case, genuine horse crap broadens past this inside thought on the grounds that
we understand that bullshitters allocate no quality to truth in any connection. To any
individual who values reality in any way, horse crap can totally confuse them in light
of the fact that they think that its difficult to accept individuals would just totally
dismiss reality with no push to finding it. Bologna varies from lying in light of the
fact that liars perceive reality and simply decide to hoodwink on the grounds that they
think something else or need others to think

The Pioneers and Cars
With the popularity of movies like The Fast and the Furious and its sequel Too Fast
Too Furious, import car culture has now become mainstream. What had started out
as a small subset of Southern California car culture has quickly become part of
American culture. In the same way hot rodding of the 50s and muscle cars of the 60s
was a cultural lifestyle of the youths of that era, the import scene is now the new car
culture of our generation. Car culture runs deeply in California. Hot rodders and
street racers daily cruise the streets, all started from Asian Americans love of import
cars and racing.

The other side of the import car culture is show. All the import car shows that are

Introduction. Evidence Based Practise Is...
INTRODUCTION Evidence based practise is the integration of clinical expertise,
patient preferences and the best research into the decision making process for

which has been supported, with a valid and clear rationale to support it. Whilst using
(EBP), this also acknowledges the patient/clients best interest. (EBP) is the
conscientious, explicit and judicious use of current best evidence in making
decisions about the care of individual patient/clients (Sackett et al, 1996). In this
definition Sackett facilitates an understanding between (EBP) and decisions we
make in everyday practice. This demonstrates the strong connection between both
aspects. Here, Sackett emphasises the importance of decisions we make as
healthcare professionals, and how clearly they should be stated. This shows that
decisions are well thought out, which demonstrates that the use of evidence is used
sensibly and carefully, which means that any care or support we deliver must be
evidence based. It shows that Sackett understands that if care or support we provide
has a rationale, then this enables us to deliver it with a meaningful purpose. In

The Cyclical Teen Musical Film
The Cyclical Teen Musical Film Considered by Jane Feuer to be the only form of
musical that retains widespread popularity (123), the teen musical film is a cyclical
sub genre of the musical film that keeps coming back again and again since the
1960s, proving that it is a sub genre here to stay. And since this is a cyclical sub
genre, its historical development is also cyclical in matter: it develops slightly
throughout the cycle, as per many other filmgenres, but always seems to return back
to its original narrativestructure and conventions, even through the stylistic and
sociocultural changes throughout the decades. Each time the teen musical filmhas
come back into mainstream popularity, the films are always characterized by their
dual focus structure primarily a male female main character pairing and the two
thematic elements typical of youth films, as described by Timothy Shary: the
growing up theme, and a conformity/rebellion binary. The only changes are caused
by sociocultural means, including, but not limited to, the Rock n Roll musicals of
the 70 s, the Punk musicals beginning in the late 70 s, and the female centered
narratives of the 80s. Ever since the introduction of sound in the late 1920s and
1930s, the film musical has been a prominent genre. However, up until the end of the
Golden Age of the film musical, the majority of these musical films produced were
geared towards an adult audience to help raise morale during the depression, World

The Pros And Cons Of Australian Political Donation
Political donations play an important role within the Australian Legal System. There

Australian democratic system and if the law on it should be altered. A political

Present Tense In MSA
Present Tense
The present tense in MSA is usually indicated by the imperfective form. The
imperfective form in MSA is an ambiguous form. It can express all types of present
tense in MSA, namely, it can be used to give a right now reading, habitual present and
present progressive. When researchers discuss the present tense, they usually
distinguish between two main groups of verbs that are state verbs and dynamic or
event verbs. State verbs usually give the right now reading. For example:

In contrast, dynamic verbs in the imperfective form in MSA usually have two
possible interpretations and the context or adverbs determine one of them. For
example, verbs in the imperfective form such as yamshi `walk or yakulu `eat can
have the two interpretations. Therefore, both verbs can be used with adverb like
kull a yawm in `every day which denotes a habitual interpretation or adverb like
alaan `now which denotes a progressive, Also, they are called stative or static

The Tempest
Final Paper
Caliban the Mystery, Even to This Day. Many times, Shakespeare refers to Caliban
from The Tempest as a natural man . What did that mean to him, to be a natural man?
There are many reasons why Shakespeare would have called him that, including the
fact that he just looked completely different than the rest of the characters in The
Tempest. He was black and dirty, he looked like a savage. Far more different then the
other characters. By the end of the play, Caliban s character seems a lot less
important. Even though his role as a character starts to fade, he had a purpose in the
play. He raised many questions in the play, Caliban made us see what we were
blatantly ignoring. As stated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Caliban was portrayed as such a repulsive man that he s overlooked for the true
meaning of himself. Many readers would just assume he is a savage and nothing
more. Shakespeare does an excellent job of making us understand the characters
and relate to them, he shows us Caliban from a negative perspective, that s actually
most times misinterpreted. Caliban s character also reveals the social hierarchy of
The Tempest and the ongoing situations in Shakespeare s era. This set up was
derived from long traditions that have been carried from Shakespeare s time.
Caliban was seen as a natural man which could have meant the bottom of the
bottom, lowest of the low. Any of these. He was the mystery of the play. Many
people weren t sure if Caliban was either a monster or a victim of colonialism.
Even though he had much fewer lines then Prospero, Caliban was the focus of
many readers interest, often with an importance far better than his actual presence
in the play. Caliban was often referred as the monster , many great critics say that
Caliban s name is an anagram or at least a play on the word, Cannibal . A term
derived from carib which became a European term used to describe flesh eaters. If
this was the case, then Caliban s name can be associated with the kinds of savage
man eaters that Europeans were reading about in travel literature when Shakespeare
wrote this play. It is also possible that Caliban s name may be a play on the

can be extracted in many applications. Blur can be classified into several main
categories either it could be blur due to motion or blur due image defocus, Primarily
our research focuses on how to restore a motion blur image by using several
techniques like edge sharp analysis, low depth of field image segmentation, lowest
directional high frequency energy (for motion blur), and wavelet based histogram and

Therefore, the decision they make at that time normally be the right choice. In

dusty, aggressive, lazy, etc. When people know these bad habits, they will consider
if they can accept them or not. If they decide to get married, the conflict in marriage
life may no longer exist. This helps people have a better marriage life. Moreover,

With the rising effects of Global warming taking its toll on glaciers and agriculture

grow significantly in the last 20 years. As the global temperature continues to rise, it
is predicted that the Glaciers will be reduced to nothing, thus taking its effect on
water flow. British Columbia has seen it s average temperature rise twice as fast as
the global average. For rafting companies, this means shorter paddling season and
flooding. Average annual temperatures have warmed by between 0.5 1.7 degrees

As the Global temperature continues to rise, North, Central and South America have
experienced numerous catastrophic weather related events. These include, heavy
rainfall in Venezuela (1999, 2005), flooding in Argentina (2000), drought in the
Brazilian Amazon (2005), Hailstorms in Greater Buenos Aires area and Bolivia
(2002,2005) and hurricane Katrina in 2004. Fortunately British Columbia has not
been exposed to as many catastrophic events but is still at risk to floods, heat waves,
drought, infectious disease vectors, diarrhoel diseases, ground level ozone and cold
waves. These events have affected the tourism industry in many ways, but will only
get worse with the rising frequency of these events. The issue at hand is not only the
rising vulnerability of these catastrophic events but also the reduction of Glaciers in
the Andean, costal and Rockies, which provide many communities with water. Once
these rivers dry up, many of these rafting companies will have to close down because
there business is built around the river. As a

He also had the employees (his subordinates) exactly where he wanted. The
beginning of the case explains how Polishan deliberately wanted the company to
operate in his best interest. First off, no one individual should be in charge of all
accounting and financial reporting of a company. When planning the audit, something
that the company should take into consideration is that it is obvious that there was no
suitable separation of duties due to one person primarily being in charge of those two
important functions. Another thing to remember is that Polishan had no one to
question his work, neither his authority because of how everyone already vulnerably
followed his rules. It is also the responsibility of management to adhere to internal
controls of the organization. This shows that the company suffered from weak
internal controls. One other thing that the company should consider while planning
the audit is to get a clear understanding of the company s internal controls to actually
figure out how Polishan manipulated the financials. A company with weak internal
controls is more prone to fraudulent activities just as what had happened in the Leslie
Fay Case.
5. There were multiple red flags that were obvious in this case. The SEC ruled that
BDO Seidman s independence was jeopardized because the auditors were
irresponsible in auditing and paying attention to the red flags that were shown in the

Customized Learning Theory Learning has been studied by numerous psychologist
and theories over the years by men and women around the world such as Jean Piaget,
Lev Vygotsky, and Lawrence Kohlberg. These theorists and psychologists studied
ways to improve teaching and motivating children in learning. The study on how
children are learning is important for both the teacher and the student. You shall teach
them diligently to your children, and shall talk to them when you sit in your house,
and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise
(Deuteronomy 6:7, English Standard Version, 2017). Teaching the children is the

approaches to learning are revolutionized as well. The Bible is the most consistent

Justice in Atonement and the Constant Gardener
Justice is neither automatic nor inevitable; the attainment of justice typically entails
the sacrifice and suffering of those attempting to achieve it. In essence justice is an
ideal, which the majority of individuals universally attempt to realize or uphold,
however due to the avarice or agendas, which serve the interests of minorities, this
ideal is sometimes subverted. Those performing the miscarriage of justice can
become unscrupulous in their methods of maintaining this standard of injustice in
efforts of self preservation. This often results in the sufferingof those carrying out
their questfor justice. This idea, and the concept that the miscarriage of justice can

Through the non linear the timeline in the film we can see from early on that there is

the very opening scene, with the unusual camera angle we very early on that there
was malicious intent behind the car crash that caused the death of Tessa. Being the
one that was attempting to expose the wrongdoings of the company, Tessa risked all
in her quest for justice. This clearly defines the relationship between human suffering
and the quest for justice.
The mass manipulation seen in the text Atonement is the war that Robbie is forced to
be a part of. In essence war is legitimized injustice, where the principles governing a
right minded society are dispensed with, and humans are driven by instinct in their
quest for self preservation. War is possibly the most far reaching, widespread form of
injustice with the most devastating consequences, which is felt by the largest number
of individuals, and nations. Often the cause of war is the notion that one nation has
wronged another, and that this must be the way to achieve justice, for those
perceived actions. This once again shows the fact that the suffering and sacrifice of
humans goes hand in hand with the quest for justice.
Another common theme between the two texts that highlights the fact that human

The Importance Of Bringing Little House To Television
Little House on the Prairie is one of the most beloved television series of all time
and is based on the Little House books by Laura Ingalls Wilder which were
published between 1932 and 1943. In an interesting note, Wilder originally set out
to write an autobiography aimed at an adult audience but couldn t find a publisher,
so she ended up using the material from her autobiography to write the Little House
books. Bringing Little House to Television Walt Disney expressed interest in
bringing the Little House books to television as far back as the 1950s, but his
production people convinced him that the books were too complicated to be made

school curriculum from kindergarten to grade 12. Today s society is becoming more
and more reliant on computer technology. It is a tool used everywhere and it is
impotent to understand how it works in our daily lives. Therefore, computer
programming is a necessary skill for everyone to have. Learning this skill is
important as it builds critical thinking and algorithmic problem solving skills. These
are important life skills as they allow people to better contribute to society. This
means that anyone, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This would allow schools to implement curriculums that teach computer programming
and other programs (like Microsoft Office, etc.) in parallel as students get into higher
grades. A counter argument to this would be that computers and computer
programming is too complicated for students of such a young age to learn. While it
is true that programming in a professional setting involves learning complicated
programming languages and syntax, this doesn t mean it s not possible for students
in grades as early as kindergarten to learn basic programming skills. For example,
various Educational programming languages (EPLs), such as Scratch and E toys,
have been developed for K 12 students . . . These EPLs use a tile scripting based on a
graphic user interface as a coding method, instead of typing text commands. This
makes the instructions easy to learn and helps students reduce syntax errors (Shim 1).
Therefore, integrating computer programming into even the earliest grades in school
would be possible. Another counter argument to integrating computer programming
in school is that kids, especially young ones, tend to spend too much time on
computers and other electronic devices, and frequently spending time on computers
to learn computer programming will only encourage this. It is true that if computer
programming was taught in schools, this would make it so kids are introduced to
computers at a
The Kalam Cosmological Argument
God exists because we have people who exists, nature exists, the world exists.
According to the video on the Kalam Cosmological argument, People who don t
believe God exists think that the world and everything in it is just here and there is

doesn t just come out of nowhere. There must be a reason why things are the way
they are. People create things in the world like social artifacts or etc. Godcreated

A Character Analysis Of Isabel From Chains
Isabel from Chains had many internal and external obstacles. One of Isabel s
internal obstacles was Ruth. Ruth, Ruth, Ruth, buzzed the bees. I blinked back
tears. (152 line 10) Ruth was constantly on Isabel s mind, especially after Ruth was
sold. Isabel didn t want to leave without Ruth and didn t want to be free without
Ruth. This was one of Isabel s internal obstacles because it was mental. There was
no one physically there forcing her to take Ruth and Isabel could control her
feelings about taking Ruth, but in Isabel s mind and heart she just couldn t get past
the barrier of being free without Ruth. Another one of Isabel s internal obstacles was
Curzon. In the same way, Isabel could bare to free without Curzon by her side. I

No, I couldn t. I looked west, toward the river, then north again. No not couldn t. I

escape as she was passing the prison Curzon was in she ran into an internal obstacle
of not getting Curzon off her mind and feeling the need to take him with her.
Isabel knew something extremely bad could happen if she was caught with him
but she cared about him so much she couldn t just leave him behind. Isabel also
faced many external obstacles. One of the external obstacles was the Locktons.
Madam was already very angry with Isabel so if Isabel was caught trying to escape
she would be in a LOT of trouble. She was the Locktons slave and was their
property so she was not able to achieve freedom without the Locktons standing in
her way. Another external obstacle was that she was on an island. Isabel was on
Manhattan Island and needed access to boats to be able to escape and become free.
Finally, the last external obstacle Isabel faced was soldiers. Being that the
Revolutionary War was going on there were soldiers everywhere and if they saw her
she would be arrested and in more trouble than she already
Pro Forma Earnings Report
1.INTRODUCTION
Pro forma earnings are earnings which often exclude non recurring items and are
defined by each individual firm rather than under the general accepted accounting
principle (GAAP). Pro forma earnings reporting is commonplace in the U.S. (Doyle
et al. 2013; Bentley et al. 2016). Items such as nonrecurring gains and losses,
depreciation and amortization expenses, write downs, restructuring and merger costs,
stock compensation expenses, and interest expenses are often excluded in pro forma
earnings figures. Since many of these exclusions are likely to be transitory in nature,
pro forma earnings can be viewed as a better measure of permanent earnings and
have received increasing focus recently. Research studies found that pro forma
earnings are more value relevant, informative, and better associated with stock prices
than GAAP earnings (Bradshaw and Sloan, 2002; Bhattacharya et al.,2003; Brown
and Sivakumar, 2003; Entwistle et al., 2010). However, exclusion of the non
recurring items is completely discretionary (Doyle et al., 2013) and managers may
use the flexibility to opportunistically influence the market s perception of the firm s
recurring earnings (Dechow and Schrand, 2004). Managers may have strong
incentives to manipulate the reported pro forma earnings to influence investors
perceptions about the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

An important part of this training will involve communicating key parts of the
security policy so that employees will have an adequate understanding of potential
threats and their remedy. Employee security training will provide definitions for some
of the most relevant types of security threats and define how they can occur in a
business environment. Employees will receive training on how to develop secure
passwords and how to manage information intelligently. An important component in
the Kudler Fine Foods program will be how to maintain confidentiality of private
information and how to resist persistent requests for it. This will include cultivating
habits that inhibit inadvertent disclosure of private information, particularly in public
communications. As part of the training process, each employee will take an
examination to verify that they have learned what the training program intended to
convey. Routine training will continue to assess employee knowledge and
communicate new information, policies, or procedures. New employees will undergo
this training as part of the new hire orientation program. References De Villiers,

Cobalt Calorimetry Lab Report
When this experiment is finished, we will have found the concentration of the cobalt
(II) nitrate solution. Using a variety of mathematical equations and making many
calculations, we will precisely plot the cobalt concentrations on multiple graphs with
a calorimetry device. We will utilize Beer s law and a calorimetry device to measure
the molarity/concentrationof the cobalt (II) solution using light. The primary use of
this calorimetry device is to find transmittance (T) and absorption (A), which
according to Beers law, is directly connected to molarity.
The concentration of the unknown solution of Co(NO3)2 can be found with the
equation of a graphed best fit line that should represent A = ebc. We will use exact

Then, we removed the blank cuvette and placed the cuvette 5 in. After recording the

Subsequently, we used .737 nm, the wavelength with the greatest absorbance, and
recalibrated the spectrophotometer at the analytical wavelength. Then, we measured
the transmittance and disposed of cuvette 5. We prepared four other diluted
solutions of Co(NO3)2 and H2O, measuring the volume of each in Ml. We
recorded the mL of Co(NO3)2 and the mL of H2O, calculating a molarity of the
dilute that we also recorded. Finally, we used Beer s Law to find the concentration of

The Extreme Expansion Of The Meat Industry
Today the industries are now dominated by a handful of huge corporations that
process most of the country s meat at several facilities across the country. As of
2007, four huge companies controlled the processing of over 80% of the country s
beef and three of these same companies process over 60% of the country s pork.
Chicken processing provides over half the country s chicken supply and even the
same situation exists for turkey meat. These four major companies are Tyson, JBS,
Cargill, and Smithfield Foods. As a result of all, meatpacking companies have
become increasingly powerful, while the government bodies that regulate them have
done barely anything to keep them in line. The extreme expansion of the meat
industry has accompanied the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We do not want another family to have to suffer as our family did. Other diseases
like Salmonella and Campylobacter can also be introduced. In addition to these
food safety risks, the use of hazardous machinery and sharp knives can injure
workers when mistakes are made. This danger is exacerbated by the increasingly
rapid speeds at which workers are expected to slaughter and process animals. This
can also cause AIDS and HIV when they come in contact with our foods, if workers
get injured while processing meats. The Federal health authorities have estimated
that foodborne diseases affect 1 in 6 Americans, which is over 48 million people.
These diseases cause 128,000 hospitalizations and kill 3,000 Americans every year.

years ago, meatpacking plants slaughtered about 175 cattle an hour, but due to
increased line speeds, today plants can slaughter as many as 400 cattle per hour. In

The Soldier And The Changing State
The path to democratization within nations which were formerly autocratic is seldom
without pitfalls. This path is what Zoltan Barany discusses extensively in his book
The Soldier and the Changing State, which provides a comprehensive look at various
nations which have endeavored to attempt the transition in the wake of a myriad of
national events war, regime change, and state transformation. One of the nations he
focuses on in his section on war is Bosnia, which was subjected to a violent ethnic
conflict following the breakup of Yugoslavia in 1991. There has been a lot of

In the essay, Herd and Tracy examine a series of issues in the transition of the
Bosnian military. Among these issues are: how can democratic civilian control of the
armed forces best be advanced in Bosnia; does the lack of sovereignty preclude entity
authorities from addressing the first generation agenda in which state institutions are
developed, or does the creation of these institutions constitute an important
prerequisite for regaining independent statehood; might a linear sequence of gradual
advancement towards democratic control be reversed; and could developing state
capacity pave the way for creating pan entity institutions and a stable state that could
survive without foreign assistance, direction, and control? He outlines these
assertions against the backdrop of the transition of Bosnian protectorate status from
the UN to the EU. A protectorate nominally retains its sovereignty, and its territory
remains distinct from that of the protector. The protector is usually a multinational
organization, the United Nations or a group of lead states, which creates a
transitional political authority, interim international administration, or complex peace
operation. Within this transitional administration, national and international policy
makers formulate policy, the exercise of which depends on the cooperation and
coordination of military, political, administrative, and nongovernmental
organizations. The ultimate

Re:CPA Report
Below I have summarized an explanation to the questions that came about during
your examination of a subsidiary that has been set up as a corporation.
The methodology used to determine deferred taxes.
The deferred taxes reported are a temporary difference. The deferred taxes were
calculated based on what needed to be reported versus what has been posted to the
corporations books. The temporary difference is the difference between the tax basis
of an asset or liability and its reported (carrying or book) amount in the financial
statements, which will result in taxable amounts or deductible amounts in future
years (Kieso, el. 2007, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

from the owners point of view, it is more sensible to form a corporation that has a
little more flexibility and less liability versus a partnership or sole proprietorship.

Compare and Contrast The Yellow Wallpaper and No Name Woman
The Yellow Wallpaper tells the story of the narrator s personal battle with after birth
depression and the disastrous rest cure treatment she received. Living during the
restrictive Victorian period, the narrator experienced firsthand the frustrating
limitations placed on women in her era, many of whom were victimized by society s
complete misunderstanding of postpartum depression and other psychological
infirmities. On the other hand, No Name Woman tells the story of Maxine Hong
Kingston s recall of the events of her aunt s life in the vague world of her Chinese
roots. The story is of her aunt who was persecuted for having an illegitimate child as
a result of an affair ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The mental struggle and impetuous behavior about her unhappiness make her stretch
out her feelings onto her surroundings, especially the wallpaper, which becomes a
symbolic feature of her situation. She feels sad whenever she thinks about her
condition of both depression and condition in general within her oppressive marriage.
In No Name Woman, the theme of silence starts with the elementary words of the
memoir stating you must not tell anyone. This statement is ironic because
Kingston is in fact telling everyone, giving voice to Chinese customs and the lives
that are foregone. As written in her memoir, she states, You must not tell anyone,
my mother said, what I am about to tell you. In China your father had a sister who
killed herself. She jumped into the family well. We say that your father has all
brothers because it is as if she had never been born. (Deshazer 308). It is especially
notable and ironic that the memoir begins with the phrase You must not tell anyone.
Her effort in No Name Woman is to write about that which is never said; her
unnamed dead aunt, and the outrageous behaviors in her mother s Chinese village.
Kingston was not necessarily silenced direct by a male figure; however, the words
said by her mother You must not tell anyone is a representation of Kingston father s
authorization voice through her mother s explanation. Kingston s effort is also about
discovering a voice, as both a Chinese American
Frankenstein Byronic Hero Essay
Reiterating the characteristics of the classic Byronic hero in more depth provides a
clearer understanding of the choices made in Frankenstein and the effect they may
have on an audience. The isolation from society that a Byronic hero displays is
very noticeable. In Manfred, Manfred isolates himself physically, which can be seen
when he goes up into the tower, from the words of Herman seem to be quite often,
He hath pursued long vigils in this tower (Manfred Act 3, Line 2). Similarly, Victor
can be seen isolating himself early on in the novelwhere he speaks of delving so
deeply into his studies. He removes many joys from his life and continues this
expedition of knowledge at the expense of his health (Frankenstein, Vol 1, Page 83).

The famous thinkers such as Voltaire, Montesquieu and Rousseau, have changed the
minds of not only peasants but also well educated ones. As of 1848 1849, in several
countries in Europe, revolutions have started. They embraced France, Germany, the
Austrian Empire and Italy. Never before Europe had seen such a sharpening struggle.
Although in different countries intensity of the struggle was not the same, different
events unfolded, but the one was undoubtedly clear: the revolution got pan European
scale.
In the German, Italy and Austrian Empire revolutions happened because the feudal
system prevented further success of capitalist development, while in France, the
situation was different. The revolution of 1848 in France was spawned by the
development of the internal contradictions of capitalism. In conclusion, age of
revolutions is a shining example of the struggle of humanity for liberty and ideology.
The causes of these revolutions in some cases were diverse in some not. These

Dog fighting needs to have a harsher punishment because it allows owners to train

it to strengthen their bite before the illegal fight. I find it absolutely astonishing
that anyone is stupid enough to train fighting dogs but to do so in children s

of an anarchist.
A) Dario Fo s play The Accidental Death of an Anarchist (1970) lies in the category
of revolutionary theatre that challenges the fascist regime of Italy. The play is a
farce based on events involving a real person, Giuseppe Pinelli, who fell or was
thrown from the fourth floor window of a Milan police station in 1969. He was
accused of bombing a bank. The accusation is widely seen as part of the Italian Far

Internet can be considered as a global communication tool because of its popularity
in adolescents and as a source of health information. It can also be used by the school
dropout to seek information related to sexual aspects where they cannot find
information in their surrounding environment. Thus it can also be considered as a
cultural tool kit as it can be shared as the information can be saved and transmitted to

So finally internet is a tool kit with n number of applications which has its own use.

history is the Hitler Jugend (Hitler Youth) during World War II. Members of the
Hitler Youth were brainwash with Fascism since joining it at a young age, who
would later on grew up and became lethal fighters devoting to Hitler believing that
he was their god. A large amount of child soldiers who are raised by the rebellion
army have steadfast loyalty toward it and are willing to fight and die for it. Also,
they are trained strictly and chosen carefully, like the description in the book Space
Marines Do you know how they make them? No, of course you don t. They find some
barbaric place where children fight to survive, and they hunt down the most
bloodthirsty killers. They recruit them when they re twelve, thirteen, fourteen, with
all that hate and that arrogance, just at the age when you think you re bulletproof and
nothing can kill you. Then they keep them like that, give them a gun and some armor
and point them at the nearest enemy.
Art of the Italian Renaissance
One of the greatest stories from the Italian Renaissance is the one of Fillipo
Brunelleschi and Lorenzo Ghiberti. In 1401, the directors of the art of the Santa
Maria del Fiore Cathedral held a contest for artists; to create panels for a the doors
on the east entrance (Kleiner, 560 2). Because the east doors faced the cathedral, the
people thought it extremely prestigious to be able to participate in such a massive
creation. After the first competition round, two finalists remained; Brunelleschi, an
accomplished and experienced artist, and Ghiberti, a younger artist, but one with just
as much talent. The two competitors were required to create a panel (or square) of

It is said that history repeats itself, and in some instances this is true. Many
Savonarola situations happened around the world, but one in particular stood out
to me as I have read about it before. The Boxer Rebellion, which occurred in China
from 1899 to the early 1900 s. A large part of the Western world considered China
as less developed than them, despite the fact that China had existed long before
these countries. Certain people in China grew very tired of being treated as
underlings as they felt that the people of the western world were taking advantage of
them. Because of this a secret alliance began; a dangerous union which grew into a
desperate attempt to purify China from all western thought. Hence the Boxer
Rebellion, which was a formation of young people bent on destroying any and
everything to do with western thought. Like the situation involving Savonarola and
the destruction of classical texts, participants in the rebellion harmed and killed
many missionaries, destroying homes, people, and even hospitals; they burned a
racecourse built by the English, and were involved in many lengthy battles. It is
evident that the Boxers thought all Western ideas were evil, and they assumed the
only way to save themselves was to rid their country of foreign ideas; something that
is familiar when compared to Girolamo Savonarola and his frantic actions to purify
Florence from humanistic ideas. My
Strengths And Weaknesses Of A Psychodynamic Approach
To...
While psychodynamic and behavioural approaches are the two major approaches to
personality, they view personality from different perspective. Psychodynamic
approach argues personality is caused by forces in the unconscious but not learnt.
Individuals have little control over their behaviour as it is predetermined, and early
childhood plays a crucial part in shaping one s personality. Behavioural approach, on
the other hand, recognizes personality as learnt and focuses only on present
behaviour matters. Given the differences, it has been argued whether, in terms of
scientific merit, psychodynamic or behavioural approach is more comprehensive. The
strengths of psychodynamic approach are consideration of childhood experiences and
recognition of the unconscious part. On the contrary, behavioural approach focuses
on behaviour that can be scientifically measured and verified, and recognizes the
importance of external environment on personality. From the above arguments, it is
finally concluded, in term of methodology and testability, behavioural approach is
more comprehensive. Introduction The scientific merit of psychodynamic and
behavioural approaches to personality is quite different in terms of supporting
whether personality is largely inborn or learnt. The term scientific merit here is
defined as the methodology employed and testability of the approaches. On one hand,
it has been argued psychodynamic approach relies too heavily on unconscious mind
whose existence is hard
Summary Of My Name Is Joey Tribbiani And I
My name is Joey Tribbiani and I live in an apartment with my friend Chandler
Geller. I am a very talented actor. My friends live right next to us. We visit them
daily and meet up at the coffee house next to us in Manhattan,New York City my
home. And the big thing about me is that I have a superpower. My superpower is
Telekinesis and nobody will ever know. I found out I had this ability when I was 10
years old. I was lying in my home just outside of Queens and everything just started
to fly everywhere when I was frustrated because I was not allowed to go to my friends
birthday party because it was snowing and my mom thought I would catch a cold. I
have learned to control superpower and I use it alot when nobody is around
including my best friends Chandler Geller, Rachel Smith, Monica Green and Ross
Bing. But my life has changed now.
When Chandler said he would go shopping for some food in our apartment he
never came back. There Is now a criminal in my life. He kidnapped my Chandler
and left a note at our apartment. It said if I wanted to see Chandler again meet on
in Central Park at 12:00 AM! He also said if I notify the police he will murder
Chandler. If you bring any one with me he will still kill Chandler. I raced across
the hall to tell Monica and rachel. Right after after I told them they cried a little but
I had no time to comfort them because I had to save Chandler. I have to go save him
at Central park. But why would Chazz even know me? What does he want with me?
Reflection On Team Work
This essay will reflect on my experience during an activity which required team
work and leadership. I will be using Gibbs Reflective Cycle (Reid, 1994) to support
my structure and to help me reflect further into my experience. This activity was
carried out in Todd s Leap (an outdoor activity centre); my team and I were required
to pass a golf ballthrough pipes across 40m to a bucket at the end with a time limit
of 10 minutes. Within my team there were 12 people and each person had a 1m
pipe. The team and I had to piece the pipes together so that the ball could fall
through without falling to the floor; if the ball fell we then had to begin again. This
activity was made competitive as we were competing against another team who were
carrying out the same activity.
As a team leader it was my role to ensure everyone was in the correct place and were
communicating effectively. This was a difficult activity and resulted in our team
dropping the ball numerous amount of times. The opposing team had went into the
lead as they had got the hang of where they had to place their pipes and therefore had
potted 9 balls in while we only potted 2. I noticed a few minutes before the time ran
out that my team where not holding their pipes at the correct height resulting in the
ball falling to the floor which meant we had to start over again. I re evaluated the
situation and quickly improved our positioning; this then resulted in 5 more balls
being potted. Unfortunately by the time we began to catch up, it was too late and the
bell rang to indicate time up. The consequence of this was that our team came second
with 7 balls while the other team won the competition with a total of 9 balls.
At the beginning we were put into groups where I was elected as team leader. I
was quite nervous due to the fact I did not know anyone within my group.
However, I quickly started to focus on the activity at hand and was excited to begin;
considering I am an extremely competitive person. During the experience I felt
determined to establish a perfect technique to result in the highest amount of balls
being potted in the bucket. Once the opposing team were in the lead I begin to feel
nervous as I was afraid of losing. I was also frustrated that
Orthostatic Hypotension Case Paper
I have selected case number 1. An 85 year old man came to the emergency room
with palpitations for a few days. He states that he sometimes feels light headed and
dizzy. The patient s heart rate is elevated and irregular. As he goes from a sitting
position to a standing position he becomes light headed and dizzy. In taking
orthostatic bloodpressure you notice that they are positive.
Orthostatic hypotension or postural hypotension happens when blood pressure drops
as you stand from a lying position. This drop in blood pressure causes the patient to
become dizzy and light headed. This condition happens more frequent in people of
advanced age. His heart rate is fast and irregular. I suspect the rhythm of his heart is
atrial fibulation (afib).
Essay on Marketing Journals
The apple products
Everyone sees the simple logo of the multi million dollar apple sign everyday.
Whether if its on a mp3 player, or to be more specific the ipod, or even the Mac
book, which I am currently using to type this journal, or the iphone, which currently
isn t even on the official Singapore market, but some still get it illegally or from other
countries.
Apple has placed itself into pop culture, from how ipods and subsequent trends like
the pod casts are created. Apple has managed to market its mp3 players to become
renowned around the world as the best selling, or at least the classiest and simplest
of mp3 players. From the simplicity of the design, to the uniqueness of its operating
system, ipods have made the people who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By creating so many different methods of awareness and accessories for the ipod and
its users, apple is successful in marketing and selling its ipod series to the masses, me
being a satisfied one among them.
Another example of successful marketing of apple is their macbooks and the
software they sell. Mac, being 2nd to on only the Pc, is slowly catching up in the
market, and is being used more widely by the public. The operating system it sells
is also a very user friendly one, and all the differences that pc and mac has can be
seen in the series of advertisements created by mac, (the mac vs pc show)
www.apple.com. Not only are the advertisements extremely humorous, they are
actually addictive to watch and are probably the main reason as to why more people
are using macs, proving that their marketing strategies are working through the
advertisements.

Persuasive Essay On A Healthy Diet
When it comes to picking a diet, there are 150 to choose from. So how do you
know which ones to choose? Well, pick one that is healthy and won t harm your
body, one that works well and can make you feel better about your self boost your
self esteem. Some people start to go on a diet because they think that all their
problems in their lives are about their weight. Others believe that it s an area of
their life that they can t control, they go on a diet so they can focus on something
that they can control their exercise and food intake. Some main diets that you
might hear are being a vegetarian and paleolithic. There are plenty of others, but
there is a diagnosis that is beginning to come around, which is being gluten free. A
vegetarian diet consists of only: vegetables, fruits, and dairy products to a certain
limit. When going on this diet, it excludes eating all meats. They don t believe in
the killing of animals and then eating them. A theory that most people have is they
can cook a healthy, meat free that supports weight loss and reduces the risk of
heart disease (Vegetarian Diet). Being a vegetarian, you can lose the daily needs
of your body, like the protein, but some grocery stores have soy burgers and fake
meat so that kind of diet can stay healthy. When purchasing these items, it can be a
bit overpriced. When looking for a source of protein, go towards eggs. They are a
good way to save money instead of buying pounds of meat. When looking for
grains, beans, and rice, being a vegetarian is the way to go (Vegetarian Diet). If
you keep eating fruits, veggies, and grains, they will make your body feel full of
fewer calories. When considering weight loss, it is likely to lose weight because
of the fewer calories and the body mass isn t high enough. When it comes to
preparing the food, there will always be a tasteful recipe on the internet that will
give you energy for the day and can cover your snacking habits (Vegetarian Diet).
Next is being a paleolithic. The aim of a paleo diet is to return to a way of eating
that s more like what early humans ate. MEAT! When following this diet, the main
goal is to lose weight, and they can sometimes have trouble planning their meal plans.

The Rise Of The Qing Dynasty
During the years 1851 1866 there was massive civil war, or as some would consider
it, a rebellion in China. This period of turmoil was not only the most destructive war
of the nineteenth century, but likely the bloodiest civil war of all time. (Platt, 2012)
The ruling government was the Qing dynasty, who had been in power since the mid
1600 s. There were widespread problems throughout the country including natural
disasters such as droughts, famines, and floods. (Robert Worden, 1988) There were a
substantial number of lower class citizens who were unhappy with their living
conditions and with the Manchu rulers of the Qing dynasty. There was a large gap in
economic status between the lower class and the wealthy members of the
government. This social tension along with Chinabeing defeated militarily by France
and Britain lead to a citizen uprising in the region of south China. Known as the
Taiping Rebellion, this large scale revolt was fought in an attempt to create a new
Han Chinesedynasty that would unite Christianity and Confucianism. (Black, 2013)
The Taiping Rebellion impacted Chinese history in two main ways: the Chinese
lower class learned to fight for social change, which lead to other rebellions, and, at
the same time, the war showcased the Chinese government s intolerance for and
ability to thwart societal change. The first main impact the rebellion had on Chinese
history was that the Chinese people, who were possibility influence by the American

(ESSAY QUESTION #1)
Assessment of the Establish Civil Security (LOE) and the linkage to the overall end
state: The overall depiction of the Establish Security LOE is both accurate and
relevant to the end state of producing a safe and secure environment. However, the
order of decisive points within the LOE is out of order and could develop
complications of achieving the end state if not properly structured. Currently, the
decisive points within the Establish Civil Security LOE focus emphasis on protecting
the populace/infrastructure, disarming insurgents, clearing explosives, and recruit
/train security forces to successfully achieve a safe and secure environment. In
contrast, the reordering of the decisive points within the Establish Civil Security
LOE will allow for a greater chance of success if executed accordingly. Therefore, it
is imperative that the Establish Civil Security LOE should reestablish the decisive
points as follows, thus ensuring both ease of transition as well as local security
success.
(Recruit/Train Security Forces, Protect the Populace, Disarm Insurgents, Clear
Explosives) If executed in this order the ease of achieving a safe and secure
environment is much more feasible.
Changes and adjustments to the LOE with justification: I recommend front loading
(recruit/train local security forces) in order to maximize police and military
effectiveness prior to US

12What is an echo? Explain why an empty room will produce one? [2 marks]
An echo is a reflection of sound, arriving at the listener sometime after the direct
sound. A true echo is a single reflection of the sound source. The time delay is the
extra distance divided by the speed of sound.
25Explain how sonar works and why it is useful. Provide at least one diagram or

Sonar is simply making use of an echo. When an animal or machine makes a noise,
it sends sound waves into the environment around it. Those waves bounce off nearby
objects, and some of them reflect back to the object that made the noise. 35Pick an

(Children can generally hear higher pitched sounds than their parents, because our
ability to hear high frequencies gets worse as we get older.) Speaking more
scientifically, we could say that the sounds we can perceive have a frequency
ranging from 20 20,000 hertz (Hz). A hertz is a measurement of how often
something vibrates and 1 Hz is equal to one vibration each second. The human voice
makes sounds ranging from a few hundred hertz to a few thousand hertz. Ultrasound
is usually used to track progress on things such as an unborn child s growth whilst in
the womb, or growth of cancer tumours and much more.

3D ultrasound is a medical ultrasound technique, often used in obstetric
ultrasonography (during pregnancy), providing three dimensional images of the
fetus. There are several different scanning modes in medical and obstetric ultrasound.
The standard common obstetric diagnostic mode is 2D scanning.[1] In 3D fetal
scanning, however, instead of the sound waves being sent straight down and reflected
back, they are sent at different angles.

The Roles Of The Indus River Valley And Egyptian...
Rivers are the key aspect of civilization. The early civilizations are usually found by
rivers. The reason is these rivers give early civilizations certain gifts, or the
essentials for survival. The rivers give people silt. Silt is a very wet clay the makes
soil fertile for farming, no matter your location. In turn, the plans grown in silt give
the civilizations food and items to trade. Another, gift is fresh water. You cannot
drink salt water, or water your plants with salt water or they would die. The fresh
water allows civilizations to use irrigation systems to move the flooding of the rivers
to the plants to water them. With the fresh water, they can even clean themselves
with it. Along with silt, the river provides food by giving fish... Show more content on

The geography was a huge aspect of the civilizations way of life. The Indus River
Valley was a very peaceful civilization. There was little to no weapons found in the
civilization. They faced so much time with no attacks they had no army. The reason
the Indus River Valley could remain untouched because of its natural barrier. The
Hindu Kush Mountains surrounded the civilization to the north and the rest was
surrounded water. The rivers provided transportation out of the civilization and
acted as a trade route for the people. Despite their communication with the outside
world, the civilization remained peaceful because no civilization was going to
climb mountains to conquer it. One civilization did cross the mountains. They
were called the Aryans. The Aryans combined with the civilization presently there
and created one huge civilization. The disadvantage of the location of the Indus
River Valley Civilization was monsoons. Monsoons were strong seasonal winds
that gave the civilization two seasons: the wet and the dry. The wet season was
during the summer and it blows moist air eastward causing floods. The dry season
was during the winter months and it blows dry air westward causing droughts.
Although there was a disadvantage of living in the Indus River Valley Civilization,
it was still a very peaceful civilization to live in. Out of these civilizations, I would
rather live in the Indus River Valley. One reason is the Indus River Valley

  • 1. Ww2 Essay Topics Crafting an essay on the subject of World War II (WW2) presents both a challenging and enriching endeavor. The vastness of this historical event, spanning across various continents and involving numerous nations, adds complexity to the task. The challenge lies not only in summarizing the intricate details but also in providing a nuanced analysis of the causes, impacts, and aftermath of the war. The plethora of perspectives, historical debates, and conflicting narratives surrounding WW2 further complicate the writing process. Researchers and historians often approach this topic with diverse viewpoints, and weaving a cohesive narrative from these varied sources requires careful consideration and critical thinking. Moreover, the sheer volume of information available on World War II can be overwhelming. Selecting relevant and significant aspects to include in the essay while maintaining a coherent and focused argument is a demanding task. The need to strike a balance between depth and breadth of coverage adds another layer of complexity. Additionally, ensuring the essay's originality and avoiding clichГ©s or overused narratives can be a daunting challenge. The topic has been explored extensively, making it imperative for the writer to offer a fresh perspective or contribute a unique angle to the discourse. • 2. William Frankfurt s Little Book On Bullshit Consistently, we can see clear cases of both bologna and lying and the differing outcomes of both these activities. Be that as it may, what is horse crap, precisely? What are the qualities of bologna? What is reality? Will horse crap be destructive? The motivation behind this paper is to answer these inquiries while in the meantime demonstrating that horse crap can most likely once in a while be hurtful. By looking at: the importance of horse crap as characterized by Harry Frankfurt, why Frankfurt believes that bologna is hurtful, and an obviously safeguarded unique contention, the likelihood of mischief from bullshitting will be demonstrated. In Harry Frankfurt s little book On Bullshit , he recognizes the significance of bologna while in the meantime demonstrating to us various ways that it can be destructive. The substance of horse crap fixates on the thought that bullshitters have no sympathy toward reality. In any case, genuine horse crap broadens past this inside thought on the grounds that we understand that bullshitters allocate no quality to truth in any connection. To any individual who values reality in any way, horse crap can totally confuse them in light of the fact that they think that its difficult to accept individuals would just totally dismiss reality with no push to finding it. Bologna varies from lying in light of the fact that liars perceive reality and simply decide to hoodwink on the grounds that they think something else or need others to think
  • 3. The Pioneers and Cars Essay The Pioneers and Cars With the popularity of movies like The Fast and the Furious and its sequel Too Fast Too Furious, import car culture has now become mainstream. What had started out as a small subset of Southern California car culture has quickly become part of American culture. In the same way hot rodding of the 50s and muscle cars of the 60s was a cultural lifestyle of the youths of that era, the import scene is now the new car culture of our generation. Car culture runs deeply in California. Hot rodders and street racers daily cruise the streets, all started from Asian Americans love of import cars and racing. Since most Asian Americans in the late 70s and 80s drove Japanese imports, they could not compete ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... JoJo is one of the most consistent racers today. He used to race the fastest street legal RX 7, was the first to race a tube chassis NSX, and now races a tube chassis, rear wheel drive Honda Civic SI for Honda of America. Ed, with the help of his brother Ron and Bergonholtz Racing, was the first front wheel drive to run the quarter mile in 10 seconds. Now he races a Mazda 6 for Mazda USA. The other side of the import car culture is show. All the import car shows that are put on today are modeled after Import Showoff, the original import car show that was started in 1995 and today is one of the most prestigious. It was started by Ken Miyoshi to showcase import cars that not only were fast but which were also artistic, much like the hot rod/custom car scene of domestics. Ken s show has spawned the creation Hot Import Nights, Hot Import Daze, Import Revolution, Extreme Autofest, and all the other car shows happening nationwide. These show cars take a lot of time and energy to create. To win, your car must stand out from the hundreds of other cars in the hall. RJ De Vera knows how to stand out. RJ is a complex man. INTRODUCTION Evidence based practise is the integration of clinical expertise, patient preferences and the best research into the decision making process for patient care (Porter O Grady, 2010). (Sakett) The Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC). code of conduct implores nurses and midwives alike, to practice in line with the best available evidence, to ensure clinical treatment is administered based on up to date knowledge and are consistent with tried and tested methods. This is to ensure patient safety as well as the practitioners. (NMC, 2015). In this essay, I will appraise the sampling methods used in the following two case studies: Beaumont E.,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The need for EBP is in order to improve service procedures and provide reliable evidence to inform health practitioners and inform clinical decision making EBP promotes the application of research evidence as a basis on which to make health care decisions Evidence based practice (EBP) is to demonstrate the best practice, which has been supported, with a valid and clear rationale to support it. Whilst using (EBP), this also acknowledges the patient/clients best interest. (EBP) is the conscientious, explicit and judicious use of current best evidence in making decisions about the care of individual patient/clients (Sackett et al, 1996). In this definition Sackett facilitates an understanding between (EBP) and decisions we make in everyday practice. This demonstrates the strong connection between both aspects. Here, Sackett emphasises the importance of decisions we make as healthcare professionals, and how clearly they should be stated. This shows that decisions are well thought out, which demonstrates that the use of evidence is used sensibly and carefully, which means that any care or support we deliver must be evidence based. It shows that Sackett understands that if care or support we provide has a rationale, then this enables us to deliver it with a meaningful purpose. In adherence to the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) we as healthcare
  • 5. The Cyclical Teen Musical Film The Cyclical Teen Musical Film Considered by Jane Feuer to be the only form of musical that retains widespread popularity (123), the teen musical film is a cyclical sub genre of the musical film that keeps coming back again and again since the 1960s, proving that it is a sub genre here to stay. And since this is a cyclical sub genre, its historical development is also cyclical in matter: it develops slightly throughout the cycle, as per many other filmgenres, but always seems to return back to its original narrativestructure and conventions, even through the stylistic and sociocultural changes throughout the decades. Each time the teen musical filmhas come back into mainstream popularity, the films are always characterized by their dual focus structure primarily a male female main character pairing and the two thematic elements typical of youth films, as described by Timothy Shary: the growing up theme, and a conformity/rebellion binary. The only changes are caused by sociocultural means, including, but not limited to, the Rock n Roll musicals of the 70 s, the Punk musicals beginning in the late 70 s, and the female centered narratives of the 80s. Ever since the introduction of sound in the late 1920s and 1930s, the film musical has been a prominent genre. However, up until the end of the Golden Age of the film musical, the majority of these musical films produced were geared towards an adult audience to help raise morale during the depression, World War I, and

Many times, Shakespeare refers to Caliban from The Tempest as a natural man . What did that mean to him, to be a natural man? There are many reasons why Shakespeare would have called him that, including the fact that he just looked completely different than the rest of the characters in The Tempest. He was black and dirty, he looked like a savage. Far more different then the other characters. By the end of the play, Caliban s character seems a lot less important. Even though his role as a character starts to fade, he had a purpose in the play. He raised many questions in the play, Caliban made us see what we were blatantly ignoring. As stated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Caliban was portrayed as such a repulsive man that he s overlooked for the true meaning of himself. Many readers would just assume he is a savage and nothing more. Shakespeare does an excellent job of making us understand the characters and relate to them, he shows us Caliban from a negative perspective, that s actually most times misinterpreted. Caliban s character also reveals the social hierarchy of The Tempest and the ongoing situations in Shakespeare s era. This set up was derived from long traditions that have been carried from Shakespeare s time. Caliban was seen as a natural man which could have meant the bottom of the bottom, lowest of the low. Any of these. He was the mystery of the play. Many people weren t sure if Caliban was either a monster or a victim of colonialism. Even though he had much fewer lines then Prospero, Caliban was the focus of many readers interest, often with an importance far better than his actual presence in the play. Caliban was often referred as the monster , many great critics say that Caliban s name is an anagram or at least a play on the word, Cannibal . A term derived from carib which became a European term used to describe flesh eaters. If this was the case, then Caliban s name can be associated with the kinds of savage man eaters that Europeans were reading about in travel literature when Shakespeare wrote this play. It is also possible that Caliban s name may be a play on the

As the global temperature continues to rise, it is predicted that the Glaciers will be reduced to nothing, thus taking its effect on water flow. As the Global temperature continues to rise, North, Central and South America have experienced numerous catastrophic weather related events. These include, heavy rainfall in Venezuela (1999, 2005), flooding in Argentina (2000), drought in the Brazilian Amazon (2005), Hailstorms in Greater Buenos Aires area and Bolivia (2002,2005) and hurricane Katrina in 2004. Fortunately British Columbia has not been exposed to as many catastrophic events but is still at risk to floods, heat waves, drought, infectious disease vectors, diarrhoel diseases, ground level ozone and cold waves. These events have affected the tourism industry in many ways, but will only get worse with the rising frequency of these events. The issue at hand is not only the rising vulnerability of these catastrophic events but also the reduction of Glaciers in the Andean, costal and Rockies, which provide many communities with water. He also had the employees (his subordinates) exactly where he wanted. The beginning of the case explains how Polishan deliberately wanted the company to operate in his best interest. First off, no one individual should be in charge of all accounting and financial reporting of a company. When planning the audit, something that the company should take into consideration is that it is obvious that there was no suitable separation of duties due to one person primarily being in charge of those two important functions. Another thing to remember is that Polishan had no one to question his work, neither his authority because of how everyone already vulnerably followed his rules. It is also the responsibility of management to adhere to internal controls of the organization. This shows that the company suffered from weak internal controls. One other thing that the company should consider while planning the audit is to get a clear understanding of the company s internal controls to actually figure out how Polishan manipulated the financials. A company with weak internal controls is more prone to fraudulent activities just as what had happened in the Leslie Fay Case. 5. There were multiple red flags that were obvious in this case. The SEC ruled that BDO Seidman s independence was jeopardized because the auditors were irresponsible in auditing and paying attention to the red flags that were shown in the company s financial statements. These theorists and psychologists studied ways to improve teaching and motivating children in learning. The study on how children are learning is important for both the teacher and the student. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk to them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise (Deuteronomy 6:7, English Standard Version, 2017). In essence justice is an ideal, which the majority of individuals universally attempt to realize or uphold, however due to the avarice or agendas, which serve the interests of minorities, this ideal is sometimes subverted. Those performing the miscarriage of justice can become unscrupulous in their methods of maintaining this standard of injustice in efforts of self preservation. War is possibly the most far reaching, widespread form of injustice with the most devastating consequences, which is felt by the largest number of individuals, and nations. This once again shows the fact that the suffering and sacrifice of humans goes hand in hand with the quest for justice. Another common theme between the two texts that highlights the fact that human

A counter argument to this would be that computers and computer programming is too complicated for students of such a young age to learn. While it is true that programming in a professional setting involves learning complicated programming languages and syntax, this doesn t mean it s not possible for students in grades as early as kindergarten to learn basic programming skills. For example, various Educational programming languages (EPLs), such as Scratch and E toys, have been developed for K 12 students . . . These EPLs use a tile scripting based on a graphic user interface as a coding method, instead of typing text commands. This makes the instructions easy to learn and helps students reduce syntax errors (Shim 1). Therefore, integrating computer programming into even the earliest grades in school would be possible. Another counter argument to integrating computer programming in school is that kids, especially young ones, tend to spend too much time on computers and other electronic devices, and frequently spending time on computers to learn computer programming will only encourage this. It is true that if computer programming was taught in schools, this would make it so kids are introduced to computers at a

  • 24. Pro Forma Earnings Report 1.INTRODUCTION Pro forma earnings are earnings which often exclude non recurring items and are defined by each individual firm rather than under the general accepted accounting principle (GAAP). Pro forma earnings reporting is commonplace in the U.S. (Doyle et al. 2013; Bentley et al. 2016). Items such as nonrecurring gains and losses, depreciation and amortization expenses, write downs, restructuring and merger costs, stock compensation expenses, and interest expenses are often excluded in pro forma earnings figures. Since many of these exclusions are likely to be transitory in nature, pro forma earnings can be viewed as a better measure of permanent earnings and have received increasing focus recently. Research studies found that pro forma earnings are more value relevant, informative, and better associated with stock prices than GAAP earnings (Bradshaw and Sloan, 2002; Bhattacharya et al.,2003; Brown and Sivakumar, 2003; Entwistle et al., 2010). However, exclusion of the non recurring items is completely discretionary (Doyle et al., 2013) and managers may use the flexibility to opportunistically influence the market s perception of the firm s recurring earnings (Dechow and Schrand, 2004). In the article, it said the people make the dogs bite on to the equipment and hang off it to strengthen their bite before the illegal fight. I find it absolutely astonishing that anyone is stupid enough to train fighting dogs but to do so in children s playground shows quite remarkable levels of idiocy and selfishness. There have been to many reports in the media of young children being seriously injured by dogs so to train a fighting dog in a playground and to condition it to behave violently around play equipment which is used by toddlers is one of the most despicable things that I have heard in a long time. said Chris Bond, the council member for the Enfield council in England. A) Dario Fo s play The Accidental Death of an Anarchist (1970) lies in the category of revolutionary theatre that challenges the fascist regime of Italy. The play is a farce based on events involving a real person, Giuseppe Pinelli, who fell or was thrown from the fourth floor window of a Milan police station in 1969. He was accused of bombing a bank. Because the east doors faced the cathedral, the people thought it extremely prestigious to be able to participate in such a massive creation. It is said that history repeats itself, and in some instances this is true. Many Savonarola situations happened around the world, but one in particular stood out to me as I have read about it before. The Boxer Rebellion, which occurred in China from 1899 to the early 1900 s. A large part of the Western world considered China as less developed than them, despite the fact that China had existed long before these countries. Certain people in China grew very tired of being treated as underlings as they felt that the people of the western world were taking advantage of them. Because of this a secret alliance began; a dangerous union which grew into a desperate attempt to purify China from all western thought. Hence the Boxer Rebellion, which was a formation of young people bent on destroying any and everything to do with western thought. Like the situation involving Savonarola and the destruction of classical texts, participants in the rebellion harmed and killed many missionaries, destroying homes, people, and even hospitals; they burned a racecourse built by the English, and were involved in many lengthy battles. It is evident that the Boxers thought all Western ideas were evil, and they assumed the only way to save themselves was to rid their country of foreign ideas; something that is familiar when compared to Girolamo Savonarola and his frantic actions to purify Florence from humanistic ideas. • 42. Strengths And Weaknesses Of A Psychodynamic Approach To... While psychodynamic and behavioural approaches are the two major approaches to personality, they view personality from different perspective. Psychodynamic approach argues personality is caused by forces in the unconscious but not learnt. Individuals have little control over their behaviour as it is predetermined, and early childhood plays a crucial part in shaping one s personality. Behavioural approach, on the other hand, recognizes personality as learnt and focuses only on present behaviour matters. Given the differences, it has been argued whether, in terms of scientific merit, psychodynamic or behavioural approach is more comprehensive. The strengths of psychodynamic approach are consideration of childhood experiences and recognition of the unconscious part. On the contrary, behavioural approach focuses on behaviour that can be scientifically measured and verified, and recognizes the importance of external environment on personality. From the above arguments, it is finally concluded, in term of methodology and testability, behavioural approach is more comprehensive. Introduction The scientific merit of psychodynamic and behavioural approaches to personality is quite different in terms of supporting whether personality is largely inborn or learnt. The term scientific merit here is defined as the methodology employed and testability of the approaches. On one hand, it has been argued psychodynamic approach relies too heavily on unconscious mind whose existence is hard

I will be using Gibbs Reflective Cycle (Reid, 1994) to support my structure and to help me reflect further into my experience. This activity was carried out in Todd s Leap (an outdoor activity centre); my team and I were required to pass a golf ballthrough pipes across 40m to a bucket at the end with a time limit of 10 minutes. Within my team there were 12 people and each person had a 1m pipe. The team and I had to piece the pipes together so that the ball could fall through without falling to the floor; if the ball fell we then had to begin again. This activity was made competitive as we were competing against another team who were carrying out the same activity. As a team leader it was my role to ensure everyone was in the correct place and were communicating effectively. This was a difficult activity and resulted in our team dropping the ball numerous amount of times. The opposing team had went into the lead as they had got the hang of where they had to place their pipes and therefore had potted 9 balls in while we only potted 2. I noticed a few minutes before the time ran out that my team where not holding their pipes at the correct height resulting in the ball falling to the floor which meant we had to start over again. I re evaluated the situation and quickly improved our positioning; this then resulted in 5 more balls being potted. Unfortunately by the time we began to catch up, it was too late and the bell rang to indicate time up. The consequence of this was that our team came second with 7 balls while the other team won the competition with a total of 9 balls. At the beginning we were put into groups where I was elected as team leader. I was quite nervous due to the fact I did not know anyone within my group. However, I quickly started to focus on the activity at hand and was excited to begin; considering I am an extremely competitive person. During the experience I felt determined to establish a perfect technique to result in the highest amount of balls being potted in the bucket. Once the opposing team were in the lead I begin to feel nervous as I was afraid of losing. I was also frustrated that

This period of turmoil was not only the most destructive war of the nineteenth century, but likely the bloodiest civil war of all time. (Platt, 2012) The ruling government was the Qing dynasty, who had been in power since the mid 1600 s. There were widespread problems throughout the country including natural disasters such as droughts, famines, and floods. There was a large gap in economic status between the lower class and the wealthy members of the government. This social tension along with Chinabeing defeated militarily by France and Britain lead to a citizen uprising in the region of south China. Currently, the decisive points within the Establish Civil Security LOE focus emphasis on protecting the populace/infrastructure, disarming insurgents, clearing explosives, and recruit /train security forces to successfully achieve a safe and secure environment.
