Written Essay Papers
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Written Essay Papers" may appear deceptively
straightforward at first glance, yet delving into the intricacies of the task reveals a multifaceted
challenge. The difficulty lies not only in the need for comprehensive research and a profound
understanding of the topic but also in the nuanced art of expressing thoughts coherently on paper.
Firstly, there's the complexity of conducting extensive research to gather relevant information.
This involves sifting through a multitude of sources, distinguishing credible information from
the questionable, and ensuring the accuracy of the data incorporated. The endeavor demands
time, patience, and discernment to create a well-informed foundation for the essay.
Next, the process of translating research findings into a coherent narrative adds another layer of
difficulty. The essay must possess a logical flow, presenting ideas in a sequence that captivates
the reader's attention and fosters understanding. Striking the right balance between clarity and
sophistication is an intricate task that requires careful consideration of language, tone, and
structure.
Moreover, the challenge extends to the art of formulating a compelling thesis statement – a
central idea that not only encapsulates the essence of the essay but also intrigues the reader.
Crafting a thesis that is both profound and succinct demands a deep comprehension of the
chosen topic and an ability to distill complex concepts into a clear and concise statement.
Additionally, addressing potential counterarguments and incorporating a thoughtful analysis
further heightens the complexity of the essay-writing process. This necessitates a critical mindset
and the ability to anticipate and respond to potential objections, thereby fortifying the essay's
overall credibility.
In conclusion, while the prospect of writing an essay on "Written Essay Papers" may seem
manageable initially, the intricate demands of thorough research, coherent expression, compelling
thesis formulation, and nuanced analysis collectively contribute to the inherent difficulty of the
task. However, for those seeking assistance, it's worth noting that similar essays and a plethora of

Ronald Wilson Reagan, George H.W. Bush and William Bill Clinton were the
leaders of the free world from 1981 2001. Over the course of 2 decades these men
had to solve several international and domestic issues while juggling personal issues,
and the many other responsibilities of The President of the United States. Over the 20
years of reign by these Presidents, 8 years were ran under Democratic rule by Bill
Clinton and 12 years were ran under Republican rule by George H.W. Bush and
Ronald Reagan. Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush were both Republican, while
Bill Clinton referred to himself as a new age Democrat. Reagan, Bush and Clinton
had many domestic and foreign issues in common, the battling of the Cold Warwith
Russia, economic instability and issues with obtaining oil and gasoline from the
Middle Eastern nations. Over this period there was seemingly a tilt in attention from
competition with the Soviets to focusing on a positive relationship with countries
from the Middle East. Even though each of these President ran on the basis that they
were going to be hard on communism and beat out communism in the entire world
but at some times it seemed like obtaining gas was more important (Looman 5).
Reagan, Bush, and Clinton were Presidents that did their best to ensure the future and
fertility of our nation, the only question is who put our country on the best path
possible?

Character Foils Between Alexander Hamilton And Aaron
Burr
In class, our recent discussions have been focused on the broadway musical
Hamilton as well as the life of Alexander Hamilton. The musical is centralized
around Hamilton s life with numerous key characters playing as a foil to the character
himself. One major character foil in particular, is the foil between Alexander Hamilton
and Aaron Burr. Throughout the musical, we identify the characterfoil between the
two friends, their defining characteristics, similarities, and the key differences
between them. Alexander Hamilton is the protagonist of the musical. The entire
show follows his rise and fall during the American Revolution and first few decades
of American history. Born on an island in the Caribbean and eventually orphaned,
Hamilton lived a rough childhood. At the humble age of fourteen, Hamilton is placed
in charge of a trading charter and at the age of nineteen he travels to... Show more

Though the two argued during the first act of the musical, they still considered each
other friends, until Hamilton s career continuously moved forward and Burr s became
stagnant. When Hamilton endorses Thomas Jefferson for President instead of Burr,
Burr becomes so enraged that he challenges Hamilton to a duel, during which he
shoots and kills his adversary. Shortly after, Burr expresses regret at killing
Hamilton. Though the antagonist, Burr is a sympathetic and complex character. He
is similar to Hamilton in his intelligence and motivation, but he deviates from other
similarities because of his lack of head on problem solving unlike Hamilton. Burr
often waits to see how things will turn out before taking action. He also does not
have strong opinions like Hamilton. He switches parties just to run for a seat in the
Senate, which would advance his position, and happens to replace Hamilton s father
in law, Philip Schuyler. TALK MORE ON HIS CHARACTERISTICS AND
The Poverty Cycle
According to Britannica School, Poverty is the state of a person who lacks a
socially acceptable amount of money or material possession. Socially acceptable
may be described as lacking the means to satisfy one s basic needs. An average
working citizen may not realize what poverty is really like. As stated in a Youtube
interview by Scott Pelley, actually going into povertyand living it will open your
eyes to an America that you didn t know existed. Additionally, it is often seen that
poverty is a cycle. It passes over the generations because of the difficulties it takes to
break free from it. Poverty can be a cycle that passes from generation to generation,
but through two generation programs and education, it can be overcome. Often times,

In one example, a research report by National Human Services Assembly, called
Breaking the Cycle of Poverty in Young Families, explains what the two generation
approach is and its tactics. The two generation approach is an arrangement that
helps break the cycle by offering programs that focus on the development of
parents, their children, and the family as a whole. In this report, an exploratory
study of these two generation programs is explained. It is shown that the programs
work when you re engage parents in education and work, nurture parent child
bonds, improve children s well being, and connect families with economic, social,
and other supports. In the situations where these tactics were used, the results were
mostly successful (NHSA1,2). One of the most important aspects of this program
is focusing on the family as a whole, and how everyone in the family can be helped.
In another article, Can Poverty Be Passed Down?, a specific program is described.
This program, called Economic Mobility Pathways (EMPath) works with parents
and children to develop executive functioning skills. These are the skills that help
you maintain a stable economic state. EMPath helps parents and children navigate
their way out of poverty. They equip both generations to do better in schools and get
better jobs. One of the techniques the program uses is setting goals with the whole
family after talking about their challenges. When goals are reached, rewards and
incentives are given. The ultimate goal is to teach economic mobility. As a result,
most parents in the six month program took steps to become more self sufficient, and
the children achieved goals like better grades and saving money (Johnston2 6). If
more of these programs were spread throughout the country, poverty could majorly be
helped. Whole family poverty situations could be solved.
Narnia Biblical Allusions Essay
C.S. Lewis The Chronicles of Narnia is a series of books that contain a countless
amount of biblical allusions. In each of the seven total books of the series, there are
references to both characters and major themes in the Bible. For example, in the Lion
the Witch and the Wardrobe, there are many allusions to the Biblesuch as when
Edmund betrays not only his brother, Peter, and two sisters, Susan and Lucy, but
also Aslan in order to stay with the Wicked Witch in her palace. This is similar to
the story of Judas and the way that he leaves the disciples and betrays Jesus.
Furthermore, in the same book, Aslan is killed by the Wicked Witch for the sake of
Narnia similar to how Jesus is crucified for the sins of his people. Additionally, both...

This shows parallels to how Jesus and the Holy Spirit bring new life to those who
believe in Him and the promise that Christ will come back one day to reclaim His
people. Another book in the series that includes many references to the Bible is
The Last Battle. This is the last book in the series and shows many similarities to
the book of Revelation in the Bible and to the end of time. Not only does Aslan
have a false Aslan who is trying to deceive and overtake Narnia similar to Jesus
having an Anti Christ, Satan, who tries to tempt and deceive God s people, but
this last book also shows many parallels to the Judgement and last days on earth.
Both the Anti Christ and the Anti Aslan speak lies about the true Jesus and Aslan
and it is ultimately up to the Narnians and the people on Earth to accept or decline
the real Jesus and the real Aslan. Lastly, both the Bible and The Last Battle show
the struggles between good and evil in this book and offer hope in the return of the
real Aslan and the real Christ. Even The Magician s Nephew, the first book in the
series, shows allusions to the book of Genesis in the Bible and the world s
Barefoot Vs Running Shoes Research Paper
A study by the University of Colorado Boulder conducted in 2012 found that
running with running shoes, as opposed to running barefoot uses less energy and
effort. One reason that running shoes is better for your feet is that it provides
protection to your feet. It also helps prevent feet medical conditions and gives your
feet cushioning. Running with running shoes protect your feet. Running shoes are
made to provide protection for your feet rather than running barefoot. A midsole is
what s protecting your feet from sharp hard objects you may accidentally run over.
It also has a cool feature were it absorbs more of the impact through every step you

The Thalia Theater is one of the three state owned theaters in Hamburg, Germany. It

Tier Hagenbeck is a zoo in Stellingen, a quarter in Hamburg, Germany. It was
founded in 1863 by Carl Hagenbeck Jr. with animals that belonged to his father.
This zoo is significant because it had set many new standards for zoos, the most
important one being refining the zoos architecture to better suit animals. He
replaced bars with moats to separate animals that couldn t swim. Not only did this
allow for visitors to see all the animals as if they were in the open, but the usage of
moats accompanied by better habitats was a better treatment for animals. Many zoos

What is ecology? Provide an example of 3 scales at which ecology can be applied?
Name one field of study which is associated with ecology?
Ecology is the scientific study of the interactions that determine distribution and
abundance of organisms. Ecology can be studied at various levels, three examples of
these levels are; Individual level, Population, and Community. Behavioural ecology is
one of many areas which is connected to ecological study.
1.Week 1, Lecture: Measuring species distributions.
When determining the distribution of eg Pine trees on a large island. What sampling
method does needs to be used, ensuring the scientific method is adhered to.
(Assuming that a count of every individual cannot be sampled and it is a homogenous
substrate.)
To adhere to the scientific method there would need to ensure that there isn t any
sampling bias. The simplest method is random sampling. The quadrats would need
to be mapped out and cover the entire island points which are generate that fall
outside of the target area can be ignored. The quadrats wold need to be of a size
relative to the size of the entire island as it could affect the distribution results
(random, uniform and clumped/aggregated). Once the data is collected various
statistical analysis can be performed then inferences about its distribution can be
made.
2.Week 2, Lecture: Distribution, dispersal, and abundance.
Who are the three Men who influenced the way people understand the ecological
niche. Compare and contrast their views.
Ecological niche is defined simply as the role and position a species ha in its own
environment and how it meets its needs for resources, how it survives and
reproduces. It includes all interactions both biotic and abiotic factors of its
environment. The three men are: Joseph Grinnell:his concept is the dea tha thre niche

Racism Vs Football Racism
This season in the NFL has been one of the more politically and racially driven
seasons that we ve seen in a very long time.
From President Donald Trump calling NFL players S.O.B s at a rally in Huntsville,
Ala., to Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones taking a stance that if any players
disrespect the flag or national anthem they won t play, and finally players speaking
out across the league on racial injustice and oppression.
It truly ignited a conversation in the United States on both sides of the aisle.
But how did we get to this point? To answer that question, we have to look at
former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick who did not stand before a
preseason game in 2016 and explained why he did it.

How do they feel about the situation? Are they boycotting the league? Or are they
continuing to watch, but still believe in the overall message of Kaepernick s stance?
If you ask college student Conner Watson, who follows both the New England Patriots
and Philadelphia Eagles, he is boycotting the league and felt that something needed to
be done.
After seeing what happened to Colin Kaepernick, I knew I had to do something. I
was so moved by what he did, as well as several conversations with my sister
regarding activism, I couldn t give my viewership to the NFL this season, he said.
Watson also explained what steps he has taken to boycott the league from monetary
discussion to just regular football talk with friends.
I am boycotting by not watching games or highlights, buying merchandise, or even
discussing games with my friends. I am also fostering discussions and political
actions around these issues of inequality.
On the other hand, Keaton Nichols, host of The Lounge on WURD Radio and long
time Pittsburgh Steelers fan is not boycotting the league, but still fully believes in
Kaepernick s message.
I felt like when folks were calling for a boycott of the NFL that they were kind of
calling for a boycott of the whole thing. The players, the league itself, and the owners,
which are kind of, their own entities in themselves, Nichols explained.
Within those three groups, who each play a major role in the business of the NFL,
Nichols spoke about why he
Throughout The Movie Precious, There Are Several Times
Throughout the movie Precious, there are several times when the audience witnesses
trauma and its effect on Precious life. These traumatizing events include sexual abuse,
verbal abuse, physical abuse, and emotional abuse. When people go through these
events, their mind will find ways to cope with their situation. These coping
mechanisms are depersonalization, derealization, detachment, and dissociation.
Depersonalization is defined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental
Disorders 5 (DSM 5) as experiences of unreality, detachment, or being an outside
observer with respect to one s thoughts, feelings, sensations, body, or actions (DSM
5, 2013, p. 302). According to Mayo Clinic, a symptom could be that a person feels

Towards the end of the movie, Precious looks out the window and sees her dream
guy. As her mom walks by, she chooses to walk away from the window. At this
point, I believe that she is disengaging from the fantasy world that she had been
trying to live in for so many years. Detachment is another experience that is seen in
Precious. Detachment is defined by Science Daily (n.d) as an inability to connect
with others on an emotional level, as well as a means of coping with anxiety by
avoiding certain situations that trigger it . Another way of thinking of this is a lack
of physical emotion during a situation (R. Stensrud, lecture, February 21, 2017). An
example of this would be when her father rapes her. Precious shows no physical
emotion during this time. She lies there and slips into her fantasy world. The same
thing occurs when the boys in the alley way shove her down onto the sidewalk.
Instead of fighting back, she lays on the ground and goes into this numbing state,
letting her mind slip into this fantasy world where she is dancing on a stage in front
of everyone. By refusing to feel anything and blocking out the traumatizing event, she
is better able to cope with her negative experiences in life. Last but not least,
dissociation is clearly present in Precious. Dissociation is defined by
betterhealth.vic.gov.au as a mental process of disconnecting from one s thoughts,
feelings, memories, or sense of identity. We see this each time that
Effects Of Residential Schools In Canada
Residential schools were a place where thousands of Indigenous children would go to
learn but instead get abused very badly. Residential schools existed about a hundred
years ago. These tragic schools were established because European people wanted the
Indigenous people of Canada to be assimilated into Euro Canadian. The European
people thought that their civilization was the greatest human achievement. A lot of
residential schools opened within Canada s provinces. Life at residential schools was
very cruel because the students got limited time to learn and more time to do
exhausting chores. The children also got brutally abused for various things including
if they offend the nuns and priests working in the schools. By the time the children
had finished attending the residential schools they had almost forgotten everything
about their cultureand traditions. Residential schools treated children very poorly
which caused some long lasting effects that still impact Indigenous people today.
There were a lot of residential schools in Canada and there were a variety of reasons
why and how these schools had opened. European settlers thought that the first
habitants of Canada (the Indigenous people) were ignorant, and like children they
needed guidance. The first prime minister of Canada Sir John A. McDonald
commissioned a journalist and politician Nicholas Flood Davin to study industrial
schools, for the indigenous children, in the United States. Nicholas Flood Davin found

Discussed
1. Over the course of the past semester, we have discussed a number of different ways
in which the colonial and, subsequently, Canadian authorities have attempted to
impose their vision of public order on Indigenous peoples. Discuss two examples of
this.
The colonial and Canadian authorities have on many occasions, historically, and
recently worked in an attempt to impose their vision of public order on Indigenous
peoples or the so called problem population. One of the multiple ways that these
authorities have done this is through residential schooling. Woolford describes
residential schools as a manner of genocide, in which the goal was to rid the land of
the Indigenous population. Residential schools were created with the aim of ... Show

The conflict with this small portion of land was the inquiry of, who actually owned
this land. The city of Oka, consisting of mostly French peoples, had bought this
land, although on the other hand, the local Mohawk community insisted that this
piece of land was actually theirs. Although the Mohawk community fought for the
land they believed was rightfully theirs, their pleas for justice were ignored and
disregarded completely. The property was to be used in order to expand a golf
course that was already close to there, but the Mohawks found this land to hold
spiritual meaning to them, and so put up blockades to protect their important land.
This challenged public order because the blockades were causing ruckus for the
other people living in Canada, and the Indigenous peoples were being treated as
second class citizens, and not given any importance or say in where this land should
and should not be used. Belanger et. al., argued that Canada was able to implement
their idea of public order onto many of the Mohawks as well, as the long and
strenuous process of attempting to reclaim their land seemed to just cause more
problems, and so a lot of the Mohawk community members pushed to just follow
instructions by the Canadian authorities and live in peace.

Frederick Douglass Racism
The Narrative of The Life of Frederick Douglass Essay The controversy of racism
is a big part in the Narrative of The Life of Frederick Douglass, written by Frederick
Douglass himself. Douglass unveils the atrocious truth about slavery that at the time,
was not spoken about. Douglass debunks the mythology of slaveryin his narrative by
rebuking the romantic image of slavery with very disturbing imagery, promotes his
own views on the intellectual belief of slaves, and exposes the system for promoting
the disloyalty among slaves. All of slaveries inhumane behavior that at the time, was

much smarter than it was back then, the nation has seen the error of its ways

insight to his reader by destroying the fraud romantic image of slavery with
examples of torture he witnessed and experienced, proving wrong of slaves

a master and with the will power of his own, and exposing the conspiracy of
promoting disloyalty within the slave community with examples of how the

Kant And Bullough Analysis
Philosophers Immanuel Kant and Edward Bullough each believe that there is a
clear difference between the agreeable and the beautiful. One might note a
similarity between these two philosopher s writings and the works of philosopher
David Hume. David Hume formed a standard for the judgment of taste, where these
philosophers create a standard for judgment based upon beauty. Kant and Bullough
concur that the agreeable is a critic s personal opinion: an opinion that others are
free to disagree with. It gratifies some desire of the senses. Kant believes that it is
not up to humans to decide what we find agreeable, but it is up to our psychology.
We do not consciously decide what satisfies this, and we cannot change this desire
based on will. Beautiful,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By using these senses, one can decide whether something is pleasant or unpleasant,
or good or bad. As agreeable is based off of personal opinions and beliefs, others are
free to disagree with it and it does not necessarily lose its credibility. They also
agree that beautiful is something that is not necessarily judged by the senses, but
something that all men need to agree upon. When someone declares that
something is beautiful, he is speaking on behalf of all men and it does not allow
for a personal opinion. Bullough touches on his view that distance is an important
factor for something to be considered beautiful. Both philosophers would agree that
natural objects, such as sunlight and other creations of nature, are worthy of being
coined as beautiful as they are universally considered as such. Pieces of art are
additionally worthy of being considered beautiful as they are collectively agreed
upon. This view is unlike that of philosopher Clive Bell, who views that nature
should never be considered beautiful. Bell would likely view that nature should be
considered agreeable as others are free to disagree with it. If one disagrees with the
universal standard of beauty that Kant and Bullough have set, one might ponder if
this view is still
Anne Sexton Woman
I have been her kind. (Sexton, lines 1 7)
Here, Sexton is not meaning that she has literally been a witch, but she empathizes
with the persecuted women of earlier centuries. When Sexton states that she is
braver at night and that she has done her hitch/over the plain houses, she is verbally
expressing that the tenebrosity is her only escape from the judging ocular perceivers
of people who lead impeccable, conventional lives in suburbia. (Sexton, lines 3 4).
The orator kens what it is relish to be the isolated witch who does not fit the typical
woman s mold, and who is a lonely thing that is cast out of society for not fitting in.
(Sexton, line 5). By saying that a woman like that is not a woman, quite, she is
exhibiting that people view women who are non conformist as flawed and not even
as legitimate women. In the second stanza, Sexton goes on to say that the speaker
has: Found the warm caves in the woods, Filled them with skillets, carvings, shelves,
Closets, silks, innumerable goods;

Whining, rearranging the disaligned.

She seems to be unhappy with the long established, traditional image of a woman:
One who fixes the suppers for her family, rearranges the misaligned in her domicile,
and who is whiny and repining (Sexton, lines 11 13). In the same way that the witch
is isolated because of the stigmas annexed to her lifestyle, Sexton is verbalizing that
a housewife can be solitary and misunderstood as well because of the isolation that
emanates from her subordinate role in society. Just as the witch or outcast is

Developing A High National Debt
Societies rely on the government to serve and protect them. This is traditionally seen
through policies and laws made by politicians. Economically speaking, in the United
States, the government plays an important role in preventing the domination of
private business to regulate labor and wages by implementing safety nets such as
minimum wage. In order to serve its purpose, the government must have moneyto pay
for various programs, but if the government continuously accrues deficits on the
budget they will build up a national debt. Economists have theories about how people
will react in situations where there is a high national debt and the government
attempts to overcome it commonly referred to as the Conventional and the Ricardian
theories. These theories are developed to attempt to determine how people will react
and determine why it actually matters to be concerned about a high national debt. By
understanding the theories and the motives for developing you can find meaning in
the calculations for developing a solution to high national debt.
In the professional and academic community, two main theories exist that examine
the human behavior that would occur in a situation where the government uses taxes
to influence the budget deficit. The most common perspective of the national debt by
economists is known as the Conventional theory. The theory develops conclusions for
the short term and long term effects of a high national debt on the society s economy.

Taming Of The Shrew And 10 Things I Hate About You
Analysis
Have you ever had a relationship that has moved on because of change? Maybe he or
she was too different from when things started? The play Taming of the Shrew by
William Shakespeare and the movie 10 Things I Hate About You explore how the
relationship between Katherine and Petruchio have evolved throughout cultural
differences. Whether showing this through Petruchio, Katherine, and how their
relationship overall maneuver they act differently or stay the same because of
cultural influence. This dictates their views and behaviors in their relationship.
Petruchio and Katherine certainly have many differences from 16th century Italy to
early 2000s United States. Let s explore these differences now, starting with
Petruchio.
If you have seen 10 Things I Hate About You, you would definitely remember the
rebellious and sexy Patrick. Whether that be his black combat boots, long hair and
rugged appearance, or the fact that he ate a live duck, this certainly shows. On the
other hand, if you have read the play Taming of the Shrew you would see Petruchio
as a visitor to Padua. Petruchio states his intentions in the city plainly, ... Show more

At the conclusion of Taming of the Shrew Katherine is a different person entirely
and is tamed by Petruchio. When asked by Petruchio to give a speech to the less
loving wives, she lectures, And place your hands below your husband s foot; In
token of which duty, if he please, My hand is ready, may it do him ease. (Act 5 Sc. 2
193 195) This explains that Katherine is telling the other ladies to do whatever their
husbands command and that you should do anything for him. This is quite a contrast
to the beginning of both the play and movie where both Katherine s are rebels and are
very independent. Together, though, Katherine and Petruchio s relationship also has

Warts will generally disappear over time, but they can be unsightly or uncomfortable
and you may want to remove them earlier. Liquid nitrogen can be purchased over the
counter or administered by a medical professional. Laser surgery may also remove
the wart. Some people have found that covering the wart for a week with a band aid
or duct tape will weaken the wart. Do not attempt to cut off or cauterize the wart, as
there are safer and more efficient means to remove it.
The best way to prevent a wart is to protect your skin from foreign interaction. It is
important to remember that a removed wart does not mean that the virus has left
your body. In time, your body should destroy the virus. The best thing to do is
remove the warts as they develop and wait it out.

Biblical Context Of The Hebrew Bible

Assignment 3: Essay (40%) 1. The Hebrew Bible contains at least three different
creation myths. Discuss these different accounts, highlighting their similarities and
differences.
This essay requires the analysis of the different creation myths in the Hebrew
Bible. Before proceeding, I will first define the key term Creation and fit it into a
biblical context. According to the Oxford dictionary, creation is the action or process
of bringing something into existence. In a biblical context, the role of a divine being
is involved, and creation usually refers to the divine making of the physical world
and the universe through his divine power, wisdom and/or presence (Fortresspress,
2014). Another important term I would like to define is myth . In the context of
this essay, myth does not pertain to the notion false or fictitious story that are often
attributed to it. With relevance to ancient times, myths shall refer to traditional tales
that expresses people s perceived reality in relation to gods, their relationship with
men and their role in the universe (Sarna, 1966). The story of the biblical creation is
one that has been highly debated upon. Various creation stories have existed since
ancient Israel as people interpret and tell the stories in many ways. As such, the fact
that there is a single creation story does not exist. The lack of unanimity in the
biblical creation stories is an evidence of the various perceptions creation , making
them a
The Canadian Government Must Impose A Junk Food Tax
In a society where diseases such as diabetes and obesity are pervasive, action must
be taken to combat the diseases. In Canada, Statistic Canada found that almost a
third of Canadians aged 5 to 17 is overweight or obese. According to the World
Health Organization standards of measurement, 31.5% of 5 to 17 year old
Canadians are classified as overweight or obese from 2009 to 2011. With the high
rates of obesity in Canadian children, which many affect their quality of life in the
future as many diseases will develop as an adult. Canadian doctors attribute to the
fact that the food industry has made it easy for Canadians to gain calories. The
Canadian government must impose a junk food tax to make sure that accessing
junk food and gaining calories will be more difficult. With the junk food tax, the
Canadian government will increase tax revenues, Canadians will be able to
change their lifestyles and the risk of Canadians having diseases such as obesity
and diabetes will be dramatically decreased. One of the many benefits that a junk
food tax provides is the increase in tax revenue. A large amount of money is spent
on Medicare. According to the Canadian Institute for Health Information,
Canadians garnered a bill of $211 billion by the end of 2013 which is the
equivalent of about $5,988 per patient. The spending on health care has dramatically
lessened despite spending $211 billion. With a spending increase of 2.6% in 2013, it
is less than the average spending growth of 7%

While Tokyo Disneyland is considered a great success, the Walt Disney Company s
next international theme park venture, Euro Disney, is quite the opposite. In the 1980
s with the great success of Tokyo Disneyland, TWDC entertained the idea of building
another international theme park. The Walt DisneyCompany knew they wanted to
build a park in Europe but needed to find a place where they could build their own
reality free from the sights and sounds of the real world. The Walt Disney

Four years later, the theme park finally saw a record breaking year where 11.7
million guests visited (Guyot, 2001). In more recent years, the number of guests
visiting the theme park seems to be dropping. In 2015, park attendance at the theme
park dropped 4.5% according to a Global Attractions Attendance report (Lockett,
2015). In its 2016 annual report, the Walt Disney Company stated that Disneyland
Paris saw park attendance decrease in 2016 (p.26). Low attendances numbers for the
theme park has led to a lot of financial issues over the years for the theme park in
Paris.
By deciding to build the entire resort at once, the Walt Disney Company assumed a
lot of debt. During the first two years of operation, Euro Disney s park attendance
and hotel occupation were below what the Disney Company had estimated.
According to Gumbel and Turner (1994) in a Wall Street Journal article, as of Dec.
31, Euro Disney, which opened in April of 1992, had a cumulative loss of 6.04
billion francs or $1.03 billion (p. A1). Euro Disney was struggling financially and
something had to be done to save the park. The Walt Disney Company CEO at the
time, Michael Eisner, negotiated a deal with the banks helping to finance the project
in France and in the US to restructure the debt of the park in order to save it from
closing down. This deal included the Walt Disney Company agreeing to have a
My Love Of Baseball
I Will Always Rationale
Boring. That is the first word that pops into someone s head when I ask them to
describe this beautiful sport. They either say the sport is too boring, too complicated,
or just lengthy to both watch and play. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, no
doubt. But the sport of baseball is one that has always mesmerized my brain when I
play/look at it. It is perhaps the best metaphor to describe life, and also the best
metaphor to describe me.
Life is what you make of it. Baseball fits this phrase like peanut butter and jelly.
Baseball immediately popped into my head when thinking of a metaphor. There
was a number of others, but I felt like baseball truly fit the puzzle. I always pictured
life as a sort of complex topic I couldn t wrap my head around. Starting from a
young age, my love for baseball has transitioned into how I live my life and what I
do. Since it is such a staple in my life, I think that it fits the I Will Always phrase
better than any other metaphor.
Baseball is a puzzle, and baseball players have to solve that puzzle. When I talked
about swinging the hardest at fastball challenges, I was talking about a common trait
among all baseball players. When standing at the mound, waiting for a pitch, despite
the player knowing the skill of the pitcher, he still tries with all his might to land a
hit on the ball. When I get faced with challenges, I m not one to back down. I m
courageous, and will Swing very hard at challenges that
Causes Of Residential Schools
What was the cause of having residential schools made? Who did the native people
wrong to deserve such discriminatory and harsh treatment? To begin with, we have
the causes for the government to open residential schools. It all began with Sir
John A. Macdonald who funded residential schools because he thought that the
aboriginal people were not civilized enough to live in a modern society. The
government, wanted aboriginal people to learn how to read and write because they
thought the aboriginals were savages . Sir John A. Mac Donald said this because
he did not like the way native people have been taught, or their culture, and beliefs.
Residential schools were established so native children could be more successful if
the school taught the children the main stream Canadian curriculum. This curriculum
consisted of learning Christianity as well as how to speak English or French. They
did this so native kids can better understand the Canadian culture, by speaking in
another language. The first residential school for the aboriginal people was
established near Quebec City, where Catholic missionaries aimed to civilize
aboriginal boys. Parents didn t want to send their children to the residential schools,
Kids sometimes tried to run away. Similar attempts were made by protestant
missionaries in the Atlantic and in the Red River area but also failed. After that we
have the cause of the treatment of residential schools. Teacher were often poorly
trained; few children received

Death Of A Salesman Father Son Relationship
Many dramas use family relationships as a primary force of the plot. In Death of a
Salesman, Willy s relationship with his son s allows the author, Arthur Miller, to
reveal the conflicts that can result in a father son relationship. Willy s relationship
with his older son, Biff differs in conflict from his relationship with his younger son,
Happy. Both relationships have their flaws and both relationships have suffered from
Willy s inability to teach his son s positive values.
Happy, the younger of the two sons, has taken on many of his father s traits.
Although he has a rather successful job, he feels the need to embellish the truth of
his success just as Willy has done in the past. (quote). Happy has also taken on his

Origins Of The Federalist And Democratic-Republican
Parties
Nardine Salama 1998 DBQ ESSAY AP. USHISTORY The origins of the Federalist
and Democratic Republican parties can be traced back to the early 1790s. Initially,
the Federalists, or broad constructionists, favored the growth of federal power and a
strong central government. The Federalists promulgated a loose interpretation of the
Constitution, which meant that they believed that the government could do anything
by the implied powers of the Constitution or that congress had the right to interpret
the Constitution based on connotation. On the contrary, the Democratic Republicans
favored the protection of states rights and the strict containment of federal power. The

C). This Act completely cut off commerce with foreign nations until the British and
the French repealed their trading restrictions on neutral shippers. As a result the
American export trade and its profits dried up. Many people deemed this Act
unconstitutional; the constitution only grants congress the power to regulate
commerce, it does not however state that they have the power to completely cut it
off. This by itself contradicts everything Jefferson stood up for. Albert Gallatin, one
of the best financial minds in the Republican Party, convinced Jefferson that the
Bank of the U.S. was essential for financial stability. Although the creation of the
Bank of the U.S. reduced the nation s debt from 83 million in 1800 to 57 million by
1809 , the creation in its self shows a great deal of broad constructionism. Although
the bank was a reasonable means of carrying out powers related to taxation and the
borrowing of funds, nowhere in the constitution does it state that congress has the
power to charter a bank. John Randolph, a Republican congressman from Virginia,
claimed that this government (Jeffersonian) created and gave power to congress to
regulate commerce and equalize duties in the whole of the U.S, and not to lay a duty
but with a steady eye to revenue . What John Randolph was trying to say was that

There are several Macaroni and Cheese recipes in this world. I have tried quite a
few different types of Macaroni and Cheese dishes, but none of them could compare
to my families Macaroni and Cheese recipe. The reason why my families Macaroni

starters, my native background is, Haitian Creole Macaroni and Cheese can either
be pronounced by Makawoni au Graten or Macaroni au Gratin . I grew up eating
this dish daily and at every family function. Since this happens to be one of my
favorite Haitian dishes I look for at every single family function, I thought it would

Mayonnaise is also added in the dish which is not a common thing in typical

Taking a Look at Intrusion Detection
Intrusion Detection Intrusion detection is similar in concept to a burglar alarm on a
car. There is the lock system to prevent access to a car, similar to a firewall, and
there is the alarm system, the intrusion detection system. Intrusion Detection Systems
(IDS) are there to compliment the network or computers firewall, if or when there is
a breach, it is the IDS that is able to identify it and then alert the administrator.
Firewalls are an effective way for filtering information coming in to your network
from the internet and are a good source of protection, but there are ways to
circumvent a firewall which could leave you defenseless. An IDS monitors the
firewall for breaches and also monitors the traffic on the organizations network for
any anomalies. This is important in the instance of an external user connecting to an
organizations infrastructure by connecting through an installed modem on the
network, this form of attack cannot be caught by a firewall but an IDS is able to
recognize the abnormal activity and report the intrusion to an administrator. Intrusion
detection systems are there to help an information system prepare for and deal with
attacks. They collect information from a variety of system and network sources and
then analyze the information and activity logs searching for information on potential
security problems. Some of the main tasks of an IDS are to monitor and analyze the
user and system activity on a network, to audit the systems
A Good Leader Essay
A Good Leader
In this essay I will analyse different leadership styles and the contributory factors of a
good leader and how succesful leadership adapts to different sports using practical
examples to supplement my arguments.
It is appreciated that that the leadership of a group, e.g team captain, is a crucial
element affecting overall group performance. Thus leadership is seen as any
behaviour that moves a group closer to attaining its goals. (Wesson et al 2000)
Leadership is: the behavioural process of influencing individuals and groups towards
set goals . (J.L. Barrow, 1977)
Most people have similar views on what the characteristics of a good leader are. A

e.g In a team game like rugby with a large group of players it may be that a leader
will differ to one in an individual sport.
Two ways in which leaders develop or are validated have been suggested:
1. Prescribed Leaders. In a more formal situation the leader is assigned by a higher
authority and imposed on the team or group. For example, the Chairman will employ
a manager, the manager will appoint a captain. (Wesson et al 2000).
2. Emergent Leader. A leader who achieves the status or authority through having
the support of the group usually emerges from the group as a result of having the
appropriate skills, knowledge or expertise that the group members may need or
value. (Wesson et al 2000). Whether a leader emerges or is prescribed they will still
exert their influence amongst the team or group through their personal qualities
which I discussed earlier. A leadership is generally seen as a very complex social
interaction.
A key theory to emerge about leadership is Fiedlers Contingency Theory of
Leadership (1967). Here he analyses and explains the apparent link between a leader s
leadership style and the situational requirements of the task. He emphasised that the
effectiveness of a leadership style is contingent on the overall situation and cannot
just be determined

subtraction occurs. On the side you can see a series of logic gates that generate a
function that will produce an output of 1 only when digit 1 of the exit is bigger
than that of the entrance. This output will be sent to two different multiplexers,
one for each digit. In the digit 1 diagram it will be sent to a multiplexer that will

Water Quality Guidelines For Agriculture
Water quality for different usages depends on type and concentration of dissolved
materials in it. So, while a sample is deemed appropriate for drinking usage it may
not be employed for other usages in industry or agriculture. Food and Agriculture
Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has published the water quality guidelines
for agriculture. The agriculture sector consumes about 94 percent of total annual
water in Iran as the biggest stakeholder (Alizadeh and Keshavarz, 2005). Given the
effects of irrigationwater on soiland crops, monitoring and assessment of groundwater
quality are very important. Therefore, groundwater quality assessment is one of the

Passing through different layers of soil and geologic formations, water quality
changes from recharge to discharge. Again, perception of hydrochemical evolution is
still a challenge for hydrogeologists (Singh et al., 2013). Furthermore, the suitability
of irrigation water is influenced by different factors such as soil type, soil drainage,
salt tolerance and crop types (Michael, 2008). Therefore, groundwater quality, soil
information and socioeconomic condition of the stockholders should be also
considered in groundwater quality assessment to achieve the integrated water
resources development (Kawy, 2012). The main focus of the present study is on
groundwater quality rather than other factors.
The frequently used criteria for water quality evaluation are the SAR, SSP, RSC, PI,
MAR, KR and EC. SAR is another important parameter for determining the
suitability of groundwater for irrigation purposes which indicates alkalinity hazard to
crop (Raghunath, 1987). Excessive sodium content in irrigation water may produce
deteriorating influences in growth of plants and soil structure such as dispersion of
clay particles, soil hardness, surface crusting, hydraulic conductivity in most soils

Literary Analysis: The American Dream
The century old concept of the American Dream is the belief that no matter what
race, gender, religion or background a person is from, she/he has the ability to
become successful through the means of hard work and determination. Unlike today,
Americans during the 1920s lived in the illusion that achieving the American Dream
involved immoral actions and only the satisfaction of their greedy pleasures. This led
to the compromise of moral values and noble actions and in turn allowed their vices
to control their character. In the novel, The Great Gatsby, it is revealed how the
corrupt American Dream resulted in consequences for both the good hearted and self
absorbed people of the East. Throughout his novel, Fitzgerald conveys his views on
how the illusion of the American Dream influenced the actions, beliefs and dreams of
the People during the Roaring Twenties.
The use of the green light as a motif helps to symbolize Gatsby s version of the
American Dream and shows that Gatsby does not have a yearning for the usual
1920s American Dream of wealth and money. His version of the American Dream is
Daisy, but to her the American Dream is money and wealth. In order to achieve
Daisy he made a goal of becoming the 1920 s embodiment of the American Dream,
even though materialistic things could not bring him happiness. Since Daisy is at the
green light it symbolizes all he had been through to be

Chapter 12: Is That a Symbol?
There are various forms of symbolism in Never Let Me Go. A main symbol in the
book is the cassette tape that the song Never Let Me Go is played on. The song
represents motherhood, and is about a mom and her child. The people at Hailsham
are unable to have children, because they are clones. The name of the cassette is
Songs After Dark which helps the tape symbolize how people feel before Hailsham
and then after. Another form of symbolism is when Kathy was a kid, singing to her
pillow baby. The pillow baby symbolizes Kathy s inability to have kids because she
is a clone.

The Devil Baby at Hull House by Jane Addams and No Name Woman by Maxine
Hong Kingston are both stories that deal with women s issues. The Devil Baby at
Hull House is the story of how a myth of a devil baby can became an important
symbol for many women. No Name Women, on the other hand, is about the narrator
s desire for her aunt s story to be told. Both stories were written in the 20th century a
time period where women had few rights and where men attempted to dominate
women. The Devil Baby at Hull House and No Name Woman both argue that stories
serve as a way to shine light on the injustices women suffer. However, Maxine Hong
Kingstonis critical of her aunt s reaction and Jane Addamsis enthusiastic about the
idea that literature can soothe individual pain. In both The Devil Baby at Hull
House and in No Name Woman the men are the ones who cause harm to the
women and their children. In The Devil Baby at Hull House Addams describes
how in each version of the story of the devil baby the man is the one responsible

The Kidney Stone Research Paper
The Blarney Stone, according to legend, grants one with elegance and
persuasiveness when he or she kisses it. The Blarney Castle is the structure that
contains the Blarney Stone and is 20 feet tall. The castle s original wooden
structure was built by the McCarthy s of Muskerry around 1010 and they replaced
that structure with a stone one two centuries later in 1210. Cormac McCarthy, the
King of Munster, supplied 4,000 men to increase Robert the Bruce s forces for the
battle of Bannockburn in 1314. The legend says that Robert the Bruce, King of
Scots, was so grateful for McCarthy s help that he gave him half of the Stone of
Scone, now know as the Blarney Stone. Queen Elizabeth soon found out about the
castle and commanded the Earl of Leicester to take possession of it, but whenever he
attempted to consult McCarthy about the matter, Cormac always suggested a banquet
or some other form of delay, This meant that when the Earl was to send the queen
progress reports, a long memorandum was sent stating that the castle had still
remained untaken. The queen called the Earl s reports Blarney , meaning hogwash or
malarkey, out of anger and disappointment because she still did not have possession of

This was then destroyed in 1446, but was rebuilt by Cormac Laidir MacCarthy,
Lord of Muskerry. The McCarthys left the castle forever in 1690 AD because
Donagh was captured in battle and escaped to France. The Blarney House was built
in 1874 AD and in 1942, the United States Federal Trade Commission started making
greeting cards. The manufacturers of the greeting cards, however, were not allowed
to use any misleading artwork that can make customers believe that the rock

one Blarney Stone had to be spread to save the unknowing customers

Professionalism In The Work Field
Professionals are held to a different skill level compared to others in the work field.
Professionals are required to have a skills level that sets them above all others. Two
main skills professionals are required to have mastered are writing and
communication. These skills are the main two, but not the only two. Other skills may
be research, knowledge, and composure among peers. When in need of an answer
others will turn to the professionaland expect the professional will have the answer.
Could be that professionals are held to a standard he or she cannot even uphold? Is it
too much pressure for some? How do we know if we have reached this level of
professionalism? How do we know we maintain the level of professionalism? Self
evaluation is a great way to review one s abilities.... Show more content on

Once I have determined this truth I have to determine a method of approach. I do I

I feel I am working on and improving some in the areas of literature reviews, APA,

The Labor Market
Introduction The landscape of the labor market is a critical factor in the economic
comparison of different countries. Countries with a friendly job market are
economically stronger because such an economy is able to achieve high living
standards for its citizens. This paper therefore endeavors to explore some of the
trends in the labor market in the US, EU, Japan and China Unemployment Rates
As per August 2016 the unemployment rate was reported to be at 4.9% percent by
the Bureau of Labor Statistics and this is the first time the unemployment rate fell
below 5% since 2008. However, despite the fall in unemployment rates it is worth
considering that only a few of the adults are working. Only 62.7% of the adult
Americans are working and this has been so since the late 1970s.n On the other
hand, the unemployment rate in the EU was rated at 10.2% in April which is the
lowest rate since 2011. In the EU, Greece is by far the country with the highest
unemployment rate of 23.3% particularly due to its economic meltdown. On the
other hand Malta and Germany have recorded the lowest unemployment rates in
2016 of about 4%. In Asia, the unemployment rate in China by June 2016 was rated
to be 4.05%. In the first half of 2016, 7.17 million jobs were created in the majority
of the Chinese urban cities therefore accounting for 71.7% of China s yearly target
of 10 million jobs. In Japan, the jobless rate rose to 3.1 % in August 2016 from 3.0%
in July. The unemployment rate in Japan
Reasons for the Defeat of the Persians in 490 B.C and 480...
Kings had always been involving and impoverishing their people in wars, pretending
generally, if not always, that the good of the people was the object Abraham Lincoln.
The Persian Wars were a series of destructive and malevolent battles which occurred
in the time frame of 490B.C and 480 479B.C. The Greek victory over the Persians
in the Persian Wars cannot be attributed to only one factor, more it was a commixture
of factors. Such factors include unity, leadership, strategy, tactics and the pre
eminence of the Greek soldier. Each contributing factor was to play a distinctive and
pivotal role in the various battles to come, which ultimately would lead to the
subsequent demise of the Persians.
The Conflict among the Greeks and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hence, the tactics and the paramount strategy devised by Miltiades in the Battle of
Marathon as well as the unification of the Greek forces, both effectively crushed the
Persian onslaught and significantly increased the confidence of the Greeks to incline
themselves in a common cause if the Persians attacked again.
The pre eminence of the Greek soldier proved decisive in the Battle of Marathon.
Although only citizen soldiers , the Greek hoplites were far more disciplined than
their Persian counterparts and also better protected, with their bronze visored
helmets, solid bronze breastplates, shields and javelins. The Persians on the
contrary were generally lightly dressed, with wicker shields and bows and arrows
and sometimes had body armour of scales sewn to leather vest. Herodotus states that
the Persians were deficient in armour, untrained and greatly inferior in skill . This
crucial element destabilized the Persian assault as they fell at the hands of a much
more skillful, better equipped and tactically superior Greek army. With their
unprecedented use of battle strategy and intimate knowledge of their surroundings,
the Greeks were able to defeat their Persian enemy.
The second invasion of Greece came at the Battle of Thermopylae and Artemesium
under King Xerxes, the son of King Darius. Thermopylae was the gateway to central
Greece and was chosen as the desired battleground

Essay on Julie and May
Julie opened her eyes. Looking around herself with misty eyes, she found herself in
a ward. No one else was in the ward at that moment. The spacious ward was
enveloped in quietness. Julie felt her head heavy with dizziness, as if all the strength
had drained out of her body. Questions stacked in her brain: Why am I here? Why
am I here? Yet her intense headache prevented her from thinking hard. Despite her
listless condition, she attempted to sit up in bed, but immediately felt an excruciating
pain in her left leg. Subconsciously, Julie groped for her leg. She felt the rigid plaster,
and jerked her hands back instantly with a start. That was when the terrible memories
of the tragic night flashed through her mind.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

No sooner had they closed the door behind them, than Julie rebuked herself for
being so rude to her parents. Burying her head in the pillow, she wept
uncontrollably. Julie was a fifteen year old girl. She not only looked beautiful, but
was also famous in her school for being an athletic star in various sports events.
Aspiring to be a gymnast when she grew up, Julie joined the gymnasium team in
her school and had been elected the team captain for her excellent performance.
Now her dream was shattered by the unexpected car accident. She could not believe
the misfortune that had befallen her, although the physical and mental pain felt so
menacingly real. In the following days, Julie shut herself in her own resentment,
refusing to see anyone who came to the hospital to visit her. She resented being the
only victim of the mad car; she resented being unable to lead a normal life; she
resented being called the handicapped instead of the usual sports star ; she resented
the wheelchair, the medicine, the confinement of the ward with indifferent white
walls. Most of all, she resented being weak, for pride used to be her distinctive
characteristic. Life resumed its monotony. Julie had no choice but to stay in the
hospital all day long, accept painful physical therapy and control her diet. However,
the monotony did not last for more than one week, for another patient came to share
the same ward with Julie on the eighth
Erickson Reflection
This week we learned about Erickson and his theory on development. Erikson
studied under the Freud method, but unlike Freud, Erikson actually did research
on infants and children as they were developing. I really enjoyed learning about
Erikson considering I have a 5 month old at home growing away. It was interesting
to compare these videos to where my baby was in development. Another
interesting thing about this module was the James Marcia Identity Status which
consists of 4 parts foreclosure, achievement, diffusion, and moratorium. Diffusion
is when you have not really made a commitment to anything yet. This is typically a
high school junior/senior or even college freshman/sophomore. They have not yet
figured out what they want to do with life yet and honestly, aren t too worried
about. In my diffusion score I received a 5 meaning I guess I am in the middle. I m
not too sure if I agree with this accusation or not, but maybe that is why I scored
this number. Although I had my career path figured out and I was on the path to it
up until a few months ago I feel as though I have started testing the waters in other
areas now. These areas are still very close to what my original plan was. Now that I
have a family I am focused more now than ever to pick the perfect career for not just
me, but my family. I feel as though I have always been well organized planned
women, but throwing a baby, husband, and other life changing circumstances into the
mix has lead me to this spot

  • 1. Written Essay Papers Crafting an essay on the subject of "Written Essay Papers" may appear deceptively straightforward at first glance, yet delving into the intricacies of the task reveals a multifaceted challenge. The difficulty lies not only in the need for comprehensive research and a profound understanding of the topic but also in the nuanced art of expressing thoughts coherently on paper. Firstly, there's the complexity of conducting extensive research to gather relevant information. This involves sifting through a multitude of sources, distinguishing credible information from the questionable, and ensuring the accuracy of the data incorporated. The endeavor demands time, patience, and discernment to create a well-informed foundation for the essay. Next, the process of translating research findings into a coherent narrative adds another layer of difficulty. The essay must possess a logical flow, presenting ideas in a sequence that captivates the reader's attention and fosters understanding. Striking the right balance between clarity and sophistication is an intricate task that requires careful consideration of language, tone, and structure. Moreover, the challenge extends to the art of formulating a compelling thesis statement – a central idea that not only encapsulates the essence of the essay but also intrigues the reader. Crafting a thesis that is both profound and succinct demands a deep comprehension of the chosen topic and an ability to distill complex concepts into a clear and concise statement. Additionally, addressing potential counterarguments and incorporating a thoughtful analysis further heightens the complexity of the essay-writing process. This necessitates a critical mindset and the ability to anticipate and respond to potential objections, thereby fortifying the essay's overall credibility. In conclusion, while the prospect of writing an essay on "Written Essay Papers" may seem manageable initially, the intricate demands of thorough research, coherent expression, compelling thesis formulation, and nuanced analysis collectively contribute to the inherent difficulty of the task. Bush and William Bill Clinton were the leaders of the free world from 1981 2001. Over the course of 2 decades these men had to solve several international and domestic issues while juggling personal issues, and the many other responsibilities of The President of the United States. Over the 20 years of reign by these Presidents, 8 years were ran under Democratic rule by Bill Clinton and 12 years were ran under Republican rule by George H.W. Bush and Ronald Reagan. Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush were both Republican, while Bill Clinton referred to himself as a new age Democrat. Reagan, Bush and Clinton had many domestic and foreign issues in common, the battling of the Cold Warwith Russia, economic instability and issues with obtaining oil and gasoline from the Middle Eastern nations. Over this period there was seemingly a tilt in attention from competition with the Soviets to focusing on a positive relationship with countries from the Middle East. Even though each of these President ran on the basis that they were going to be hard on communism and beat out communism in the entire world but at some times it seemed like obtaining gas was more important (Looman 5). Reagan, Bush, and Clinton were Presidents that did their best to ensure the future and fertility of our nation, the only question is who put our country on the best path possible? Ronald Wilson
  • 5. Character Foils Between Alexander Hamilton And Aaron Burr In class, our recent discussions have been focused on the broadway musical Hamilton as well as the life of Alexander Hamilton. The musical is centralized around Hamilton s life with numerous key characters playing as a foil to the character himself. One major character foil in particular, is the foil between Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr. Throughout the musical, we identify the characterfoil between the two friends, their defining characteristics, similarities, and the key differences between them. Alexander Hamilton is the protagonist of the musical. The entire show follows his rise and fall during the American Revolution and first few decades of American history. Born on an island in the Caribbean and eventually orphaned, Hamilton lived a rough childhood. Though the two argued during the first act of the musical, they still considered each other friends, until Hamilton s career continuously moved forward and Burr s became stagnant. When Hamilton endorses Thomas Jefferson for President instead of Burr, Burr becomes so enraged that he challenges Hamilton to a duel, during which he shoots and kills his adversary. Shortly after, Burr expresses regret at killing Hamilton. Though the antagonist, Burr is a sympathetic and complex character. He is similar to Hamilton in his intelligence and motivation, but he deviates from other similarities because of his lack of head on problem solving unlike Hamilton. Burr often waits to see how things will turn out before taking action. He also does not have strong opinions like Hamilton. He switches parties just to run for a seat in the Senate, which would advance his position, and happens to replace Hamilton s father in law, Philip Schuyler. TALK MORE ON HIS CHARACTERISTICS AND
  • 6. The Poverty Cycle According to Britannica School, Poverty is the state of a person who lacks a socially acceptable amount of money or material possession. Socially acceptable may be described as lacking the means to satisfy one s basic needs. An average working citizen may not realize what poverty is really like. As stated in a Youtube interview by Scott Pelley, actually going into povertyand living it will open your eyes to an America that you didn t know existed. Additionally, it is often seen that poverty is a cycle. It passes over the generations because of the difficulties it takes to break free from it. Poverty can be a cycle that passes from generation to generation, but through two generation programs and education, it can be overcome. Often times, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In one example, a research report by National Human Services Assembly, called Breaking the Cycle of Poverty in Young Families, explains what the two generation approach is and its tactics. The two generation approach is an arrangement that helps break the cycle by offering programs that focus on the development of parents, their children, and the family as a whole. In this report, an exploratory study of these two generation programs is explained. It is shown that the programs work when you re engage parents in education and work, nurture parent child bonds, improve children s well being, and connect families with economic, social, and other supports. In the situations where these tactics were used, the results were mostly successful (NHSA1,2). One of the most important aspects of this program is focusing on the family as a whole, and how everyone in the family can be helped. In another article, Can Poverty Be Passed Down?, a specific program is described. This program, called Economic Mobility Pathways (EMPath) works with parents and children to develop executive functioning skills. These are the skills that help you maintain a stable economic state. EMPath helps parents and children navigate their way out of poverty. They equip both generations to do better in schools and get better jobs. One of the techniques the program uses is setting goals with the whole family after talking about their challenges. When goals are reached, rewards and incentives are given. The ultimate goal is to teach economic mobility. As a result, most parents in the six month program took steps to become more self sufficient, and the children achieved goals like better grades and saving money (Johnston2 6). If more of these programs were spread throughout the country, poverty could majorly be helped. Whole family poverty situations could be solved.
  • 7. Narnia Biblical Allusions Essay C.S. Lewis The Chronicles of Narnia is a series of books that contain a countless amount of biblical allusions. In each of the seven total books of the series, there are references to both characters and major themes in the Bible. For example, in the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, there are many allusions to the Biblesuch as when Edmund betrays not only his brother, Peter, and two sisters, Susan and Lucy, but also Aslan in order to stay with the Wicked Witch in her palace. This is similar to the story of Judas and the way that he leaves the disciples and betrays Jesus. Furthermore, in the same book, Aslan is killed by the Wicked Witch for the sake of Narnia similar to how Jesus is crucified for the sins of his people. Additionally, both... This shows parallels to how Jesus and the Holy Spirit bring new life to those who believe in Him and the promise that Christ will come back one day to reclaim His people. Another book in the series that includes many references to the Bible is The Last Battle. This is the last book in the series and shows many similarities to the book of Revelation in the Bible and to the end of time. Not only does Aslan have a false Aslan who is trying to deceive and overtake Narnia similar to Jesus having an Anti Christ, Satan, who tries to tempt and deceive God s people, but this last book also shows many parallels to the Judgement and last days on earth. Both the Anti Christ and the Anti Aslan speak lies about the true Jesus and Aslan and it is ultimately up to the Narnians and the people on Earth to accept or decline the real Jesus and the real Aslan. Lastly, both the Bible and The Last Battle show the struggles between good and evil in this book and offer hope in the return of the real Aslan and the real Christ. Even The Magician s Nephew, the first book in the series, shows allusions to the book of Genesis in the Bible and the world s

He replaced bars with moats to separate animals that couldn t swim. Not only did this allow for visitors to see all the animals as if they were in the open, but the usage of moats accompanied by better habitats was a better treatment for animals. Name one field of study which is associated with ecology? Ecology is the scientific study of the interactions that determine distribution and abundance of organisms. Ecology can be studied at various levels, three examples of these levels are; Individual level, Population, and Community. Behavioural ecology is one of many areas which is connected to ecological study. 1.Week 1, Lecture: Measuring species distributions. When determining the distribution of eg Pine trees on a large island. What sampling method does needs to be used, ensuring the scientific method is adhered to. (Assuming that a count of every individual cannot be sampled and it is a homogenous substrate.) To adhere to the scientific method there would need to ensure that there isn t any sampling bias. The simplest method is random sampling. The quadrats would need to be mapped out and cover the entire island points which are generate that fall outside of the target area can be ignored. The quadrats wold need to be of a size relative to the size of the entire island as it could affect the distribution results (random, uniform and clumped/aggregated). Once the data is collected various statistical analysis can be performed then inferences about its distribution can be made. 2.Week 2, Lecture: Distribution, dispersal, and abundance. • 12. Racism Vs Football Racism This season in the NFL has been one of the more politically and racially driven seasons that we ve seen in a very long time. From President Donald Trump calling NFL players S.O.B s at a rally in Huntsville, Ala., to Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones taking a stance that if any players disrespect the flag or national anthem they won t play, and finally players speaking out across the league on racial injustice and oppression. It truly ignited a conversation in the United States on both sides of the aisle. But how did we get to this point? To answer that question, we have to look at former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick who did not stand before a preseason game in 2016 and explained why he did it. I am not going ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... How do they feel about the situation? Are they boycotting the league? Or are they continuing to watch, but still believe in the overall message of Kaepernick s stance? If you ask college student Conner Watson, who follows both the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles, he is boycotting the league and felt that something needed to be done. After seeing what happened to Colin Kaepernick, I knew I had to do something. I was so moved by what he did, as well as several conversations with my sister regarding activism, I couldn t give my viewership to the NFL this season, he said. Watson also explained what steps he has taken to boycott the league from monetary discussion to just regular football talk with friends. I am boycotting by not watching games or highlights, buying merchandise, or even discussing games with my friends. I am also fostering discussions and political actions around these issues of inequality. On the other hand, Keaton Nichols, host of The Lounge on WURD Radio and long time Pittsburgh Steelers fan is not boycotting the league, but still fully believes in Kaepernick s message. I felt like when folks were calling for a boycott of the NFL that they were kind of calling for a boycott of the whole thing. The players, the league itself, and the owners, which are kind of, their own entities in themselves, Nichols explained. Within those three groups, who each play a major role in the business of the NFL, Nichols spoke about why he
  • 13. Throughout The Movie Precious, There Are Several Times Throughout the movie Precious, there are several times when the audience witnesses trauma and its effect on Precious life. These traumatizing events include sexual abuse, verbal abuse, physical abuse, and emotional abuse. When people go through these events, their mind will find ways to cope with their situation. These coping mechanisms are depersonalization, derealization, detachment, and dissociation. Depersonalization is defined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders 5 (DSM 5) as experiences of unreality, detachment, or being an outside observer with respect to one s thoughts, feelings, sensations, body, or actions (DSM 5, 2013, p. 302). As her mom walks by, she chooses to walk away from the window. At this point, I believe that she is disengaging from the fantasy world that she had been trying to live in for so many years. Detachment is another experience that is seen in Precious. Detachment is defined by Science Daily (n.d) as an inability to connect with others on an emotional level, as well as a means of coping with anxiety by avoiding certain situations that trigger it . Another way of thinking of this is a lack of physical emotion during a situation (R. Stensrud, lecture, February 21, 2017). An example of this would be when her father rapes her. Precious shows no physical emotion during this time. She lies there and slips into her fantasy world. The same thing occurs when the boys in the alley way shove her down onto the sidewalk. Instead of fighting back, she lays on the ground and goes into this numbing state, letting her mind slip into this fantasy world where she is dancing on a stage in front of everyone. • 14. Effects Of Residential Schools In Canada Residential schools were a place where thousands of Indigenous children would go to learn but instead get abused very badly. Residential schools existed about a hundred years ago. These tragic schools were established because European people wanted the Indigenous people of Canada to be assimilated into Euro Canadian. The European people thought that their civilization was the greatest human achievement. A lot of residential schools opened within Canada s provinces. Life at residential schools was very cruel because the students got limited time to learn and more time to do exhausting chores. The children also got brutally abused for various things including if they offend the nuns and priests working in the schools. By the time the children had finished attending the residential schools they had almost forgotten everything about their cultureand traditions. Residential schools treated children very poorly which caused some long lasting effects that still impact Indigenous people today. There were a lot of residential schools in Canada and there were a variety of reasons why and how these schools had opened. European settlers thought that the first habitants of Canada (the Indigenous people) were ignorant, and like children they needed guidance. The first prime minister of Canada Sir John A. McDonald commissioned a journalist and politician Nicholas Flood Davin to study industrial schools, for the indigenous children, in the United States. Nicholas Flood Davin found

Over the course of the past semester, we have discussed a number of different ways in which the colonial and, subsequently, Canadian authorities have attempted to impose their vision of public order on Indigenous peoples. Discuss two examples of this. The colonial and Canadian authorities have on many occasions, historically, and recently worked in an attempt to impose their vision of public order on Indigenous peoples or the so called problem population. One of the multiple ways that these authorities have done this is through residential schooling. Woolford describes residential schools as a manner of genocide, in which the goal was to rid the land of the Indigenous population. Residential schools were created with the aim of ... The city of Oka, consisting of mostly French peoples, had bought this land, although on the other hand, the local Mohawk community insisted that this piece of land was actually theirs. Although the Mohawk community fought for the land they believed was rightfully theirs, their pleas for justice were ignored and disregarded completely. The property was to be used in order to expand a golf course that was already close to there, but the Mohawks found this land to hold spiritual meaning to them, and so put up blockades to protect their important land. This challenged public order because the blockades were causing ruckus for the other people living in Canada, and the Indigenous peoples were being treated as second class citizens, and not given any importance or say in where this land should and should not be used. Belanger et. al., argued that Canada was able to implement their idea of public order onto many of the Mohawks as well, as the long and strenuous process of attempting to reclaim their land seemed to just cause more problems, and so a lot of the Mohawk community members pushed to just follow instructions by the Canadian authorities and live in peace. 2. • 17. Kant And Bullough Analysis Philosophers Immanuel Kant and Edward Bullough each believe that there is a clear difference between the agreeable and the beautiful. One might note a similarity between these two philosopher s writings and the works of philosopher David Hume. David Hume formed a standard for the judgment of taste, where these philosophers create a standard for judgment based upon beauty. Kant and Bullough concur that the agreeable is a critic s personal opinion: an opinion that others are free to disagree with. It gratifies some desire of the senses. Kant believes that it is not up to humans to decide what we find agreeable, but it is up to our psychology. We do not consciously decide what satisfies this, and we cannot change this desire based on will. Beautiful,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By using these senses, one can decide whether something is pleasant or unpleasant, or good or bad. As agreeable is based off of personal opinions and beliefs, others are free to disagree with it and it does not necessarily lose its credibility. They also agree that beautiful is something that is not necessarily judged by the senses, but something that all men need to agree upon. When someone declares that something is beautiful, he is speaking on behalf of all men and it does not allow for a personal opinion. Bullough touches on his view that distance is an important factor for something to be considered beautiful. Both philosophers would agree that natural objects, such as sunlight and other creations of nature, are worthy of being coined as beautiful as they are universally considered as such. Pieces of art are additionally worthy of being considered beautiful as they are collectively agreed upon. This view is unlike that of philosopher Clive Bell, who views that nature should never be considered beautiful. Bell would likely view that nature should be considered agreeable as others are free to disagree with it. If one disagrees with the universal standard of beauty that Kant and Bullough have set, one might ponder if this view is still

Economically speaking, in the United States, the government plays an important role in preventing the domination of private business to regulate labor and wages by implementing safety nets such as minimum wage. In order to serve its purpose, the government must have moneyto pay for various programs, but if the government continuously accrues deficits on the budget they will build up a national debt. Economists have theories about how people will react in situations where there is a high national debt and the government attempts to overcome it commonly referred to as the Conventional and the Ricardian theories. These theories are developed to attempt to determine how people will react and determine why it actually matters to be concerned about a high national debt. By understanding the theories and the motives for developing you can find meaning in the calculations for developing a solution to high national debt. In the professional and academic community, two main theories exist that examine the human behavior that would occur in a situation where the government uses taxes to influence the budget deficit. The most common perspective of the national debt by economists is known as the Conventional theory. The theory develops conclusions for the short term and long term effects of a high national debt on the society s economy. If a

To begin with, we have the causes for the government to open residential schools. It all began with Sir John A. Macdonald who funded residential schools because he thought that the aboriginal people were not civilized enough to live in a modern society. The government, wanted aboriginal people to learn how to read and write because they thought the aboriginals were savages . Sir John A. Mac Donald said this because he did not like the way native people have been taught, or their culture, and beliefs. Residential schools were established so native children could be more successful if the school taught the children the main stream Canadian curriculum. This curriculum consisted of learning Christianity as well as how to speak English or French. They did this so native kids can better understand the Canadian culture, by speaking in another language. The first residential school for the aboriginal people was established near Quebec City, where Catholic missionaries aimed to civilize aboriginal boys. Parents didn t want to send their children to the residential schools, Kids sometimes tried to run away. Similar attempts were made by protestant missionaries in the Atlantic and in the Red River area but also failed. After that we have the cause of the treatment of residential schools. As a result the American export trade and its profits dried up. This by itself contradicts everything Jefferson stood up for. Albert Gallatin, one of the best financial minds in the Republican Party, convinced Jefferson that the Bank of the U.S. was essential for financial stability. Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) are there to compliment the network or computers firewall, if or when there is a breach, it is the IDS that is able to identify it and then alert the administrator. Firewalls are an effective way for filtering information coming in to your network from the internet and are a good source of protection, but there are ways to circumvent a firewall which could leave you defenseless. An IDS monitors the firewall for breaches and also monitors the traffic on the organizations network for any anomalies. This is important in the instance of an external user connecting to an organizations infrastructure by connecting through an installed modem on the network, this form of attack cannot be caught by a firewall but an IDS is able to recognize the abnormal activity and report the intrusion to an administrator. Intrusion detection systems are there to help an information system prepare for and deal with attacks. They collect information from a variety of system and network sources and then analyze the information and activity logs searching for information on potential security problems. Some of the main tasks of an IDS are to monitor and analyze the user and system activity on a network, to audit the systems

Two ways in which leaders develop or are validated have been suggested: 1. Prescribed Leaders. In a more formal situation the leader is assigned by a higher authority and imposed on the team or group. For example, the Chairman will employ a manager, the manager will appoint a captain. (Wesson et al 2000). 2. Emergent Leader. A leader who achieves the status or authority through having the support of the group usually emerges from the group as a result of having the appropriate skills, knowledge or expertise that the group members may need or value. Here he analyses and explains the apparent link between a leader s leadership style and the situational requirements of the task. He emphasised that the effectiveness of a leadership style is contingent on the overall situation and cannot just be determined

So, while a sample is deemed appropriate for drinking usage it may not be employed for other usages in industry or agriculture. Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has published the water quality guidelines for agriculture. The agriculture sector consumes about 94 percent of total annual water in Iran as the biggest stakeholder (Alizadeh and Keshavarz, 2005). Passing through different layers of soil and geologic formations, water quality changes from recharge to discharge. Again, perception of hydrochemical evolution is still a challenge for hydrogeologists (Singh et al., 2013). Furthermore, the suitability of irrigation water is influenced by different factors such as soil type, soil drainage, salt tolerance and crop types (Michael, 2008). Therefore, groundwater quality, soil information and socioeconomic condition of the stockholders should be also considered in groundwater quality assessment to achieve the integrated water resources development (Kawy, 2012). The main focus of the present study is on groundwater quality rather than other factors. The frequently used criteria for water quality evaluation are the SAR, SSP, RSC, PI, MAR, KR and EC. SAR is another important parameter for determining the suitability of groundwater for irrigation purposes which indicates alkalinity hazard to crop (Raghunath, 1987). Excessive sodium content in irrigation water may produce deteriorating influences in growth of plants and soil structure such as dispersion of clay particles, soil hardness, surface crusting, hydraulic conductivity in most soils (Todd and Mays, 2005; Suarez et al., 2006; Ramesh and Elango, 2012) Since
  • 38. Literary Analysis Of The Great Gatsby Essay Sameet K. Mann Ms. Rowe IB English 7 September 2016 Literary Analysis: The American Dream The century old concept of the American Dream is the belief that no matter what race, gender, religion or background a person is from, she/he has the ability to become successful through the means of hard work and determination. Unlike today, Americans during the 1920s lived in the illusion that achieving the American Dream involved immoral actions and only the satisfaction of their greedy pleasures. This led to the compromise of moral values and noble actions and in turn allowed their vices to control their character. In the novel, The Great Gatsby, it is revealed how the corrupt American Dream resulted in consequences for both the good hearted and self absorbed people of the East. Throughout his novel, Fitzgerald conveys his views on how the illusion of the American Dream influenced the actions, beliefs and dreams of the People during the Roaring Twenties. The use of the green light as a motif helps to symbolize Gatsby s version of the American Dream and shows that Gatsby does not have a yearning for the usual 1920s American Dream of wealth and money. His version of the American Dream is Daisy, but to her the American Dream is money and wealth. In order to achieve Daisy he made a goal of becoming the 1920 s embodiment of the American Dream, even though materialistic things could not bring him happiness. Since Daisy is at the green light it symbolizes all he had been through to be

Chapter 12: Is That a Symbol? There are various forms of symbolism in Never Let Me Go. A main symbol in the book is the cassette tape that the song Never Let Me Go is played on. The song represents motherhood, and is about a mom and her child. The people at Hailsham are unable to have children, because they are clones. The name of the cassette is Songs After Dark which helps the tape symbolize how people feel before Hailsham and then after. The Devil Baby at Hull House by Jane Addams and No Name Woman by Maxine Hong Kingston are both stories that deal with women s issues. The Devil Baby at Hull House is the story of how a myth of a devil baby can became an important symbol for many women. No Name Women, on the other hand, is about the narrator s desire for her aunt s story to be told. Both stories were written in the 20th century a time period where women had few rights and where men attempted to dominate women. The Devil Baby at Hull House and No Name Woman both argue that stories serve as a way to shine light on the injustices women suffer. However, Maxine Hong Kingstonis critical of her aunt s reaction and Jane Addamsis enthusiastic about the idea that literature can soothe individual pain. In both The Devil Baby at Hull House and in No Name Woman the men are the ones who cause harm to the women and their children. In The Devil Baby at Hull House Addams describes how in each version of the story of the devil baby the man is the one responsible for the child s birth as a devil (75). The women and the child both have to suffer because of the wrongful and insincere actions of the father. Similarly, in No Name Woman the aunt s pregnancy was caused by an unidentified man who might have also organized the raid against her (Kingston 386). Her death and disgrace was caused by the man who took advantage of her. Additionally, the sufferingof the aunt after death is caused by the narrator s

Hence, the tactics and the paramount strategy devised by Miltiades in the Battle of Marathon as well as the unification of the Greek forces, both effectively crushed the Persian onslaught and significantly increased the confidence of the Greeks to incline themselves in a common cause if the Persians attacked again. The pre eminence of the Greek soldier proved decisive in the Battle of Marathon. Although only citizen soldiers , the Greek hoplites were far more disciplined than their Persian counterparts and also better protected, with their bronze visored helmets, solid bronze breastplates, shields and javelins. The Persians on the contrary were generally lightly dressed, with wicker shields and bows and arrows and sometimes had body armour of scales sewn to leather vest. Herodotus states that the Persians were deficient in armour, untrained and greatly inferior in skill . This crucial element destabilized the Persian assault as they fell at the hands of a much more skillful, better equipped and tactically superior Greek army. With their unprecedented use of battle strategy and intimate knowledge of their surroundings, the Greeks were able to defeat their Persian enemy. The second invasion of Greece came at the Battle of Thermopylae and Artemesium under King Xerxes, the son of King Darius. Erikson studied under the Freud method, but unlike Freud, Erikson actually did research on infants and children as they were developing. I really enjoyed learning about Erikson considering I have a 5 month old at home growing away. It was interesting to compare these videos to where my baby was in development. Another interesting thing about this module was the James Marcia Identity Status which consists of 4 parts foreclosure, achievement, diffusion, and moratorium. Diffusion is when you have not really made a commitment to anything yet. This is typically a high school junior/senior or even college freshman/sophomore. They have not yet figured out what they want to do with life yet and honestly, aren t too worried about. In my diffusion score I received a 5 meaning I guess I am in the middle. I m not too sure if I agree with this accusation or not, but maybe that is why I scored this number.
