Writing And Essay. Quick Way To Write Essay - Anna Blog
1. Writing And Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of "Writing an Essay" may seem paradoxical at first glance. It's
akin to navigating a labyrinth where the walls are constructed from the very words and concepts
you are trying to define and analyze. The challenge lies in striking a balance between providing
insightful information about the essay-writing process and avoiding the trap of circular reasoning.
To begin with, the paradox lies in the self-referential nature of the topic. Crafting an essay about
writing essays involves a meta-analysis that requires one to step back and examine the very act
they are engaged in. This self-awareness can be both a blessing and a curse. On one hand, it
allows for a deeper understanding of the intricacies involved in essay composition; on the other
hand, it can lead to a sense of redundancy as the writer treads carefully not to fall into the trap of
stating the obvious.
Moreover, addressing the various aspects of essay writing, such as structuring an introduction,
forming a thesis statement, developing arguments, and concluding the essay, requires a delicate
dance between being informative and avoiding the pitfalls of over-explanation. It's a fine line to
walk, ensuring that the essay does not become a mere recitation of common knowledge but
rather a thoughtful exploration of the nuances and challenges inherent in the writing process.
The difficulty is compounded by the need to engage the reader and make the essay not just
informative but also compelling. After all, the topic at hand is not a particularly exciting one, and
the risk of the essay becoming monotonous is ever-present. Balancing the technical aspects of
essay writing with a narrative flair adds another layer of complexity to the task.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of "Writing an Essay" is a challenging endeavor that
requires a delicate balance between self-awareness, information delivery, and engaging
storytelling. It demands a keen understanding of the recursive nature of the subject matter and
the ability to navigate the fine line between redundancy and depth. The challenge, however, is
not insurmountable, and with careful consideration, one can craft an essay that sheds light on the
intricacies of essay writing while maintaining the reader's interest.

2. John Taylor Howling Wolf Analysis
While these artists renditions of the Treaty Signing at Medicine Lodge Creek
contain the same content, John Taylor and Howling Wolf s show very different
views. I believe that the difference in views arose due to the fact that these two men
had different cultural backgrounds from one another. John Taylor was a hired
journalist while Howling Wolf was Native American. John Taylor s sketch has a very
natural feel while Howling Wolf s is abstract. John Taylor s illustration is more
natural and realistic than representational because he was focusing on what he saw at
the treaty signing, but his beliefs may have caused him to make the Native
Americans look stern and no nonsense by creating micro facial expressions. While the

3. Organized Crime In The 1800s
Organized crime has been present in the history of the United States and can be
traced back to the streets of the early 1800 s. Organized crime occurs when a group
of people congregate together and plan to commit a series of crimes to make money,
usually illegally. Organized crime groups have evolved over time from small rackets
to grand organizations like the Italian Mafia. Crime particularly began to become
prominent in urban areas during the prohibition. Organized crimeis still just as visible
today as it was back in the early 1800 s. The first successful organized crime group
was the Forty Thieves of New York. This group formed as hundreds of immigrants
came together for their own protection and financial gain. Organized crime became...

Steve Jobs: A Inspiring and Influential Businessman
The iPod, iPad, iMac, and iPhone all share one thing in common other than their
elegant design. Their creator, Steve Jobs, oversaw the creation of many of these
extremely personal and innovative electronics. He thought of technology and
devices we did not know we needed or wanted because we never knew they existed.
Although he was often called crazy, but his different ideas and rebelling personality
drove him beyond what many expected of him as he built Apple and other
companies. Steve Jobs is most admired for his co founding of Apple and NeXT, as
well as his involvement in Pixar.

5. Case Study Of Alzheimer s Terminal Neural Degenerative...
Alzheimer s
Alzheimer s is a terminal neural degenerative disease that causes multiple
malfunctions that relate to the brain such as memory loss, personality changes,
thinking impairment, sensory impairment, and loss of bodily function and control. It
is not known what causes the disease but a couple of characteristics include a build
up of hardened amyloid plaques between nerve cells causing them to become less
efficient and eventually unable to communicate between each other (https:/
/www.nia.nih.gov/alzheimers/publication/2011 2012 alzheimers disease progress
report/primer alzheimers disease and, accessed Oct. 7, 2015). Another phenomenon
of the disease is neural fibril tangles of protein called tau that are found inside the
microtubules of axons and dendrites of the nerve cells (https://www.nia.nih.gov
/alzheimers/publication/2011 2012 alzheimers disease progress report/primer
alzheimers disease and, accessed Oct. 7, 2015). The abnormal tau in an Alzheimer s
brain causes the microtubules to collapse in the nerve cell, which cuts off the nutrient
supply and ultimately leads to cell death (https://www.nia.nih.gov/alzheimers

6. Teenagers In The Movie Rebel Without A Cause
Teenagers have an unhealthy and dangerous obsession with automobiles which, has
increased and in some cases even become deadly, which can be accredited to the
production of movies featuring teenagers and their cars. The teenagers of America
look up to the actors in these movies as role models, so when they see characters in
movies running away into an unrealistic happy ending and stunts that are done by
professional stunt doubles, they want to do the same. These movies promote reckless
behavior in the usage of automobiles and encourage teenagers to live in a fantasy
world of rebellion that proves to be costly. As concerned parents, we strongly suggest
that the major movie studios should not produce anymore movies centered around
teenagers and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With a car, teenagers can escape from their parents and go wherever they want.
Popular places that teens go to are drive ins, malt shops, and parking lots. Drive ins
and parking lots are notorious for sexual actions. We do not want our teenagers
exposed to this type of conduct, especially through movies. Teen pregnancy rates
have increased dramatically with almost 10% of teens between fifteen to nineteen
getting pregnant at the peak in 1957. Much of this increase is due to the automobile
changing the dating culture allowing for more opportunity for privacy which led to
increased sexual activity. Drive in movies, parking and cruising became common teen
activities. In 1954, there were 4,200 drive in movie theatres across the country and
they were commonly associated with amourous teenage encounters in the back seat
of the car. With these reasons being said, this explains why automobiles should not be

In The Rocking Horse Winner, a tragic story that broadcasts how greed overcomes
love. Lawrence uses symbolism to manifest how love can be defeated by money.
Paul s mother s lack of attention, his rocking horse, and the whispering house
portray the lack of love and need to be greedy. Each Family member is different, but
they seek their money that comes with Paul being lucky. The Rocking Horsedepicts
his isolation from the world due to his shortage of love. The back and forth motion
is how Paul s anxiety translates. Most children of his age wouldn t be playing with
the rocking horse. Paul lost his innocence of his childhood by trying to acquire her
love. The way a motherraises you effects how you turn out, Paul didn t have a solid
example of a person who he should aspire to be. Paul s mother denied her son of
what most children around the world are given from day one. Now, his shortage of
love has taken up his time to think about being a child, and all he desires is to make
his mother more money than she could ever imagine. As readers we want to believe

9. The Importance Of Body Positivity
Body Positivity: A Weighty Issue For decades, women had been searching for the
epitome of beauty and perfection, even to the point where they ve dedicated all of
their time and money on products to enhance their appearances. The society s
perception of ideal beauty standards make women feel like they have to look a
certain way in order to blend in, or even to simply make one feel better. Many
females feel pressured to achieve the standards of beauty that society presents to
them in their everyday life. Instead of the media instilling the power to take back
what they have stripped away from women in the first place, the media drowns
women in unhealthy beauty standards. The pervasiveness of unrealistic beauty ideals
is a never ending cycle of unattainability and extreme self consciousness in women.
Advertisements in the media bombard women with products associated with beauty,
fashion, and weight reduction. These advertisements float around in magazines, on
the internet, on television, on billboards, endorsed by celebrities, and even on the
radio (Jeon). Because of how easily these images and comparisons are made
available to us, women now consider these bodies normal and have somehow started
to shun anything that contrasts this norm. As these standards become more prevalent
and more persuasive, so do a number of women with low self worth, eating
disorders, and depression (Dittmar). No one desires to speak up about how eating
disorders often go hand in hand with different

11. Benefits Of Foreign Language Education
Foreign language education has always been less of a priority than any other subject
and has always been a thought towards the end of secondary school education. In
schools, there is no exposure to any other languages other than English for most
people until high school. If students do take a foreign languagein high school, many
don t continue learning in college and therefore never actually become fluent in other
languages. Foreign language educationhas shown to have benefits that would greatly
help students develop. Learning a foreign language can develop cognitive abilities
and increase cognitive processing as well as develop analytical skills, and these
benefits can only be acquired when there is a good grasp of the language. Another
problem is how foreign language educationis largely focused on European languages
such as French or Spanish. More than half the most commonly spoken languages in
the world are Asian languages but foreign language education barely covers Asian
languages. Learning Asian languages would help make interactions with businesses
and governments of Asian countries a lot better in today s globalized world. Schools
are starting to teach more Mandarin but other Asian languages are still not being
taught widely. Incorporating Asian languages into the education system can be a
great benefit in terms of trade, communication, cultural knowledge, and diversity.
There should be more of a focus on foreign language education at a younger age and

12. King Lear Dysfunctional Family
Characteristics of dysfunctional families are found throughout the play King Lear
by William Shakespeare. Dysfunctional means not operating properly, so a
dysfunctional family is a family that does not operate properly. One characteristic of
a dysfunctional family is the display of not respecting others. Another characteristic
is a lack of trust. Greed also tarnishes families. These characteristics are seen in King
Lear. Not showing respect for others is a characteristic of a dysfunctional family.
When family members do not trust each other it can be humiliating to those
involved. This can ruin relationships. When Cordelia publicly refuses to go along
with Lear s game, Lear sees it as a lack of respect. In his moment of fury, Lear
disowns Cordelia splitting apart the family. Another time this is seen is when Lear
comes to stay with Goneril. Here do you keep a hundred knights and squires, men
so disordered, so debauched and bold, that is our court, infected with their manners,
shoes like a riotous inn, (Shakespeare p.107). Goneril takes this offensively and uses
it in her plan to dispose of Lear. Seeing it as disrespectful she throws him out of her
house helping in destroying... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

13. Describe The Main Hypothesis Tested In The Study
1.Describe the main hypothesis tested in the study.
The main hypothesis being tested within the study was whether or not the fusiform
gyrus was a Region of Interest (ROI) that specialised in the perception of the human
face. This main hypothesis was confirmed in Part 1 of testing and was thus expanded
in Part II and III, in which they eliminated alternative hypothesis.
2.Explain why this new ROI technique is important for fMRI research.
The Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) is a functional neuroimaging
procedure that used MRI technology to measure our brains activity through blood
flow changes and our voxels.
In past experiments the researcher would have been required to scan images of the
entire brain for each comparison, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Explain one of the alternative accounts of the function of the FFA and how the
current study is able to refute (prove wrong) this account.
Imaging studies in the past have reported that the region of the fusiform gyrus is
more active during face recognition than object viewing, during face matching than
location matching and during viewing normal faces other than scrambled faces or
textures. This research was a great beginning, but it does not establish that this FFA is
specifically involved in face recognition, as there is a range of alternative
interpretations of what can activate our brains. These alternative interpretations
include low level feature extraction, visual attention that is greater in faces and
recognition of basic items and recognition of human objects.
To test the first hypothesis the researcher ran an initial test to determine that the
Region of Interest was the fusiform gyrus. Following this he then measured the
activity in this specific region to subjects using four comparison tasks. Each of these
tasks tested the alternative accounts that were previously listed.
Part III tested one of these alternative accounts for faces compared with another
human object e.g hands. In these tests the data that was collected displayed higher
intensity reactions in the ROI when parts of the face were compared to viewing
human
14. Essay about Decision Making Process Model
Introduction The decision is to select an action among a number of actions that
solves a given problem, that prevents a problem from happening, or that forces to
apply new ideas for development. The need for understanding decision making
process is increasing because the complexity of modern organizations is increasing,
and because the modern organizations effectiveness depends on the decisions made
by the managers. The question is how to select the most appropriate action to solve
the problem satisfying all stakeholders. Many methods have been developed to
simplify the decision making process. In this paper, the rational model of decision
making will be discussed first. Then, some of the factors that cause deviation in the

The difficulties that were accompanied with this approach led to deviation from the
rational model. Complexity of modern organizations and the limited cognitive
ability of decision makers were most influencing factors in the deviation . The
decision makers were unable to operate under perfect rationality conditions. The
information about a decision was mostly unavailable or unclear, and open to
different interpretations. Also, the criteria of evaluating alternative solutions were
not agreed upon. It also required very long time and a lot of energy of the decision
makers to pursue a maximizing outcome. These constrains led to a conclusion that
the absolute rational model is unreachable. Simon presented the bounded rationality
as a result of human and organization constraints. He sees that the managers would
not achieve the requirements of rational behavior. He observed that different types
of decisions can be processed in different ways, namely: programmed decisions and
non programmed decisions. The programmed decisions category included decisions
that occur frequently. Managers are used to these types of decisions and they
already have developed some kind of protocols and procedures for making them.
These decisions usually are left for the lower posts in the organizational hierarchy.
Non programmed decisions category included decisions to solve problems that are
rarely faced. The

In our Milky Way galaxy, there are over a hundred billion stars, and within the
universe there are billions of galaxies (Classifying Stars). Astronomers have always
come up with different techniques to make their jobs easier. One important technique
in, not only astronomy but science itself, is trying to classify something into groups
to find a certain pattern. Since there are so many stars in a single galaxy,
astronomers must find methods for organization. Stars are not all the same, they vary
in size, temperature, and brightness. To keep track of all these different
characteristics, astronomers had to come up with a diagram. The Hertzsprung

Do you ever think to yourself that some of you birthdays are more valuable than
others? Personally, I happen to thinks some of my birthdays aren t as fun as when I
was six years old. Currently I am eighteen years old and as the years have gone I ve
realized how different things have been. I must say I don t remember all of my
birthdays from when I was a kid, although I do remember a few of them. When I was
five I had a birthdaypartyand my mom hired a clown. I guess the lady was very
friendly she handed out prizes and played with the children. It was like having a
sister for the first time. Although I have to say I m not a big fan of clowns, this
woman made my fifth birthday party an outstanding time! Her name was Betty,
and clown Betty had paint with her, so she painted all the children s faces. I
believe she had painted a pink butterfly on my face and my father had painted his
face as Spider Man. I also recall playing many games, it just happened to be musical
chairs that I won on. For my prize I had to pick out of a huge surprise box, I was
very happy with my prize I had won myself a Snow White game for my Gameboy.
Some of the girls got a bit jealous and would say that the clown would only let me
win because it was my birthday. In my opinion I think they were just upset that I
had won and they didn t. I also remember turning six, my mom and dad had taken
me to Disney for the very first time. I was extremely excited to meet Cinderella and

Only 5% of United States high schools teach computer science, the study of the
principles and use of computers, despite its critical importance. Even as the
enrollment in science, technology, engineering, and math classes have increased in
the past 20 years, the number of students enrolled in computer science has actually
decreased. This can be attributed to the neglect exhibited by schools on computer
science. In these 20 years, 1 billion computers have been built which makes computer

Universities are already starting to require computer science classes, but this creates
the question: How should computer science courses be implemented in education
before University? An optimal solution must teach social problem solving skills,
increase the functionality of technology, and provide an understanding of the future.
The time at which computer science is introduced must also be considered to ensure
students have enough prior background knowledge in other related disciplines and a
basic understanding of what computer can and cannot do. In order to properly
implement computer science in education, it should be required in high school
education and teach the ubiquitous relationship that computer science has with the
social, technological, and futuristic aspects of the world.
Computer science is bound to have social impacts because of its ubiquitous nature.
The most influential of these impacts is the introduction of computational thinking.
Computational Thinking is a process that generalizes a solution to open ended
problems. Open ended problems encourage full, meaningful answers based on
multiple variables, which are derived using abstraction and automation. When solving
open ended problems, computer scientists abstract notions from both the physical and
theoretical worlds. Unlike mathematical notions which only consider theory,
computer science combines both
21. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Vesiphies
Therefore, based on the property of hydrophobic and hydrophilic parts which
involves the repelling and coordinating forces the amphiphiles are considered to be
powerful building blocks and they aggregate to form great molecular assemblies like
micelles or vesicles. The properties and structure of the assembly formed majorly
depends on the structural design of the amphiphiles. For example natural
phospholipids consist of one hydrophilic head and two hydrophobic tails. When they
are diffused in to water they instinctively form bilayers.
Amphiphiles Aggregates
The amphiphiles coordinate themselves in the interface of water and air. As in the
figure above, the hydrophobic part is arranged within the cluster whereas the
hydrophilic part is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In other words, bolaform amphiphiles are covalently bonded the hydrophobic chain
ends. Bolaamphiphiles are also referred as edge amphiphiles , where one edge of a
hydrophobic core carries hydrophilic groups and the other edge is hydrophobic
Bolaform amphiphiles have a different type of aggregation at air water interface.
Synthetic bolamphiphile form extended planar monolayers on the surface of water.
Multilayer is made when two bolaamphiphiles having two cationic or two anionic
head groups attach. This is also possible by the combination of an anionic
bolamphiphile and a cationic bolamphiphile. Bolamphiphile possessing long chains
produce vesicles for example in biological systems liposomes are formed whereas
when bolaamphiphiles possess short alkyl chains they give micelles.
The bolaform amphiphile is also less efficient than the conventional surfactants in
lowering the surface tension of water. The values obtained from surface area per
surfactant graphs suggest that most of the bolaforms take up a looped conformation
at the interface, with the polar groups attached at the interface and alkyl chains
forming a loop. It is also reported that the aggregation of bolaform micelles increases
with the ionic strength of solution and decreases when the head group size is
increased. The accumulation of micelles also increases with the increase in the
number
22. The Naegleria Fowleri Amoeba
Introduction
The Naegleria fowleri amoeba resides in lakes, rivers, thermal springs, dirty
swimming pool and sometimes soil. The amoebas thrive during the summer months
due to the increase of temperature(Shakoor, Beg, and Mahmood 258). Naegleria
amoeba infects and targets brain tissue of the central nervous system and the
neuromuscular system. The central nervous system is responsible for integrating and
responding to neural signals. The nervous system and muscles in the body work
together to permit movement called the neuromuscular system. The brain is the main
control for integrating sensory neurons and coordinating body functions: voluntary
and involuntary. When needed to move a body part, a message is sent to the afferent
sensory neurons, which go through the brain and into the spinal cord where the
efferent motor neurons send an electrical signal to trigger the muscle to contract.
Errors such as sliding of the actin and myosin filaments or failure to release
neurotransmitters from the neuron can happen. The infection causes primary amebic
meningoencephalitis (PAM) (Shakoor, Beg, and Mahmood 258).. It cannot be
contracted by person to person, or by drinking contaminated water. The amoeba
enters the body via nose by infected water and/or dust and penetrates the cribriform
plate(Shenoy, Wilson, and Prashanth [Page 309]). It travels to the brain by the nerves
that transmit olfactory senses and causes PAM. It causes brain tissue damage and
inflammation of the brain. The
23. Malcom Crowe In The Sixth Sense
THE FANTASTIC IN FILM THE SIXTH SENSE The movie The Sixth Sense fits
in the category of fantastic because it creates a hesitation between the reality and
the supernatural. At first, Dr. Malcom Crowe looks more credible than Cole Sear
because of the working class status of Malcom which makes him more reliable as a
narrator. Cole can see ghost, but maybe what he sees is an illusion because of the
fact that his dad committed suicide. In other words, he may be mentally unstable
because of this trauma which makes him less credible. In end of the movie, Malcom
Crowe realised that he was dead the whole time through subtle evidences. A viewer
could have overlooked the subtle evidences that the director has put and has already
established that Dr.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The small details in the movie have shown that Cole was the reliable narrator
despite his unreliable factors such as his mental state and his background. An
example that shows that Malcom is indeed dead is when his wife completely
ignores him for arriving late to their anniversary s dinner. At first, it looks like she
was mad at him, but the way the table was set proves that Bruce was inexistent. If it
were for a date, it would be a table for two with all the plates and its components,
but it was set for only one person. It shows that the wife did not dine with Malcom
Crowe and was alone. Another example is while he was working at his office,
somebody was ringing at his door. The wife opens the door only a few minutes
later despise that Malcom asks her several times to open the door. The man comes
in and keeps on telling her that she shouldn t stay alone . The sentence You should
not stay alone was in a figurative sense. The word alone means she is single, a
widow. This piece of evidence emphasises on why she was watching her weeding s
video throughout the movie. At first, it seems the wife was watching it because her
husband didn t pay attention to her or maybe she was rethinking
24. The Health Belief Model Of Health Behavior
The health belief model is a model in psychology that tends to explain human health
related behaviours. The model explains why certain sets of people are vulnerable to
health risk behaviour while others are not. The model explains that the attitude and
individual belief about a particular health related activities predict their behaviour
toward such activities. The model was first developed by a social psychologist
Hochbaun Rosentock and Kegel in the 1950 s when they are working in United States
public healthservice. The model suggests that people s belief about healthproblems,
perceived benefit actions and barriers to action and self efficacy explain engagement
or disengagement in health promoting behaviour.
The health belief model is typically based on the understanding that an individual
will engage in health related activities if the following conditions are met; i If the
person believes that the negative consequences of unsafe sexual activities can be
voluntarily avoided ii If the person has positive expectation that by taking
precautionary actions, negative health problems can be avoided (e.g. Using condom
prevents easy transmission of HIV/Aids) iii If the person believes that he/she

These concepts are attitude toward behaviour, subjective norms and perceived
behavioural control. This theory can be used to explain health behaviour such as
antenatal care utilization. Every pregnant woman knows that using antenatal care is
beneficial to their health and acceptable to the general community (subjective norm),
however, some factors such as financial difficulty (perceived behavioural control) can
prevent such pregnant women from making use of this service to ensure safe
delivery. Financial constraint is an important factor that can limit individual pregnant
woman attitude toward antenatal care
25. Rhetorical Analysis of Cicero s Defense of Marcus Caelius...
Cicero believed that a good orator must do three things in his speech: earn the favor
of the audience, provide persuasive arguments, and move the audience with
emotional appeals. In his defense of Marcus Caelius Rufus one finds an excellent
example of Cicero s work and through close examination can glean some additional
information about what Cicero felt was needed in a good speech. With such scrutiny
it becomes readily apparent that each of the three objectives need not be attained
equally. Because while Cicero does attempt to gain the favor of his audience, provide
persuasive arguments, and presents the audience with powerful emotional appeals, he
spends a vast amount of time providing the jurywith proofs (persuasive arguments), a

However, his most obvious attempt to entertain his listeners is seen in his adoption
of various personas, such as the famous Caecus (Cicero, p.141 142), or Clodia s
younger brother (Cicero, p.143) and finally the strict and lenient fathers who
address Caelius directly (Cicero, p.143 144). The reasons why he resorts to these
methods are almost as evident as the methods themselves. In this trial there is little
to no physical evidence, the prosecution is based almost entirely on the testimony
of Clodia (as Cicero points out (Cicero, p.140 141)) and various other witnesses.
And despite the fact that Cicero claims Fact will be pitted against fact (Cicero,
p.137) the outcome of the case depends largely on which side the jury chooses to
believe; Cicero knows that if the jury is on his side then they will tend to value his
points over those of his opponents. In order to sway the jurors he flatters them and
attempts to entertain them, because if they feel good will towards him as he speaks
that could easily be transferred to his statements as well. This is extremely important
because much of his defense rests on attacks upon the

Book Review
In this complicated and heartbreaking book about a cultural impasse that started in
the small county hospital of Merced, California, Anne Fadiman presents us the story
of how a Hmong girl suffering from severe epilepsy brought to light what happens
when the American medical community fails to see patients as people whose cultural
background is completely different from their own.
The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down tells the story of Lia Lee. Lia was
barely three months old when she had her first epileptic seizure. Born into a large
family, her parents, Nao Kao and Foua Lee, were Hmong refugees from Laos who
didn t speak a word of English. While their culture dealt with illness through
shamans or txiv neeb, Lia s seizures were so serious that they decided to take her to
Merced Community Medical Center, a county hospital that had a renowned team
of pediatric doctors. However, none of those doctors spoke the Hmong language.
This initial encounter gave way to a series of collisions brought on by a difference
of language, a difference of religion, and a difference of world view which caused a
myriad problems that resulted in a tragedy of medical and emotional proportions for
Lia, her family, and her doctors. The author is painfully self aware about her own
limitations within a culture that isn t her own yet that doesn t stop her from
exploring the issues presented in the book with incredibly gravitas.

27. Final Case 2 Intel Memo Essay
1. What are the lessons useful for their future microprocessor business that you think
Intel should have taken away from their experience in the DRAM industry?
Continuous innovation: As a technology company and from the experience of
DRAM, it is necessary to continuously innovate to uphold the leadership position in
the industry. Intel was left behind after 1103 DRAM in innovation.
Multiple approaches: It is necessary to take the multiple pronged approaches
especially in the uncertainty of the technology business. In DRAM, Intel deployed
three different process technologies Goldilocks strategy and decided whatever
technology came to fruition would be mass produced. This is effectively hedging the
risk in the business.

How and why did Intel s added value change over time? What would you identify as
the crucial events, decisions, or moments in that transformation?
From pioneering in memory DRAM semicon to exiting the low margin DRAM
market Intel was primarily a Memory semicon manufacturer before it entered
microprocessors in 1980s. Its added value in the memory industry in 1970s was
very high because of its advances in MOS process to produce DRAM. However,
with increase in competition and the advancement of Japanese conglomerates in the
memory industry Intel was forced to play a chasing game to improve performance
and reduce costs. In the mid 1980s, Intel s market share in the core memory business
was 1%, however it was continuing to invest in this domain. They finally exited the
DRAM market, which was more of a cash burner with low margins.
Led the PC microprocessor market and ousted competition through sole licensor
decision: Post losing a contract to supply microprocessors to Apple, in early 1980s,
Intel won a contract to provide the same to IBM for its PCs. IBM PCs were a huge
success and catapulted Intel to gain market leadership. IBM initially forced Intel to
license its product to other players to secure adequate supplies reducing Intel s
potential

In his view, high volume semiconductor manufacturers learn more quickly than low
volume producers. Part of this learning capability is due to the close linkages they
have with equipment vendors. The implication of Parker s view is that Intel is now a
technology follower because of relatively weak linkages with equipment supplier. To
improve Intel s technology leadership, they must improve these linkages. Barrett
believes that Intel is a technology leader and that manufacturing improvements have
accelerated since the exit from the DRAM business. He attributes this to improved
engineering techniques, not advances in process equipment. He agrees with Chou
that high volume manufacturing is not critical to success. This view is somewhat
contradicted by selectively staying in the EPROM business В– a high volume,
commodity business. Upon further examination, however, his belief is that
EPROMS are not critical because they provide advantages for learning, but because
they provide a critical link between Intel and its competitive environment. Staying in
a commodity business allows Intel to learn how to lower unit costs and to use this
knowledge across all of its products. These three senior managers have different
views of Intel s position and the changing nature of the industry. Parker s view

As the power industry expands and improves the technological functionality, control,
and monitoring components used in generation, transmission, and distribution, the
vulnerabilities of the power grid to cybersecurity attacks greatly increase. Not all
cybersecurity attacks are preventable, but the current securityregulation and
compliance requirements set by the North American Electric Reliability Corporation
(NERC) are not adequate to prevent even the most common types of attacks. When
attacks occur, they can lead to lengthy system blackouts where the impact may range
from minor inconvenience to possible public harm in a variety of ways including
loss of access to food, fuel, money, communication, asset protection and security, and
even healthcare.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The core of this framework has five basic functions as it relates to cybersecurity:
identify, protect, detect, respond, and recover (Framework for Improving Critical
Infrastructure Cybersecurity). With regard to required compliance versus voluntary
security, compliance with regulations does not ensure security. The BES consists of
both generation and transmission assets and devices, but does not include system
distribution. There are also potential risks associated with the technologies and
operations of the distribution system though, so the distribution system must be
included in the cybersecurity discussion. One such distribution security risk involves
the increasing popularity of smart meters and the fact that there are no cybersecurity
regulations associated with them. Of all the BES components, cyberattacks on
transmission assets and devices pose the greatest risk to public safety due to a greater
potential impact than attacks on other types of BES components. For example, the
knockout of a transmission substation that is only the connection between multiple
power lines, would have a higher

The times when the ancient civilisations of Greece and Rome flourished are filled
with revolutionary advances in society but most notably in their respective cultures.
While a significant amount of time separated the two periods, Rome used many of
ancient Grecian works as a foundation for their own way of life with some tweaking
here and there. In that respect, the two periods greatly influenced and helped to shape
Western culture. This is especially true when it comes to the arts, particularly in
architecture which can be seen in two significant structure from each period: ancient
Greece s Parthenon and Rome s Pantheon.
In 447 B.C., the construction of the Parthenon began in the Acropolis at Athens,

Much of Roman culture was derived from the Greek with some slight differences
such as their respective gods and goddesses. The Romans had also retained many
of the architectural styles that the Greeks practiced and used them in building
their own structures such as the famed Pantheon. Unlike the Greek whose purpose
for their temples were to honour their city s patron god, the purpose of the
Pantheon is not exactly known aside from the fact that it is a temple. People
believe that it was built as a place for the emperor to make appearances that the
public could be witness to in order to remind the civilians of their emperor s power
and god like status (Cartwright, 2013). This theory is consistent with the ideas that
we have learned through Roman portraiture styles of their rulers that emulated
styles seen in previous portraits in order to legitimize their authority or align
themselves with revered predecessors (Trentinella, 2003). Also, it is believed that
the Pantheon is dedicated to all the planetary gods instead of just one which was
how the Greeks preferred. The Pantheon can be split into two parts, the main
building is circular and is made of brick and concrete and is more in the style of the
Romans compared to the second part which contains the porch and entrance. The
porch is very reminiscent of the Classical Greek era and even features

However, there was no difference in aerobic testing for men and women, everyone

miles, or about the size of the state of Maryland. Both nations cited historical
religious evidence for why the land should belong to them and no solution could be

New Englander s Opposition to the War of 1812
The War of 1812 was predominantly fought between the United States and the
United Kingdom for a variety of complex reasons but most notably was caused by
Britain s inability to treat the newly freed America as anything but a colonial body.
Americans were overall outraged into war by their own government s sanctioned
trade embargoes, the impressments of seamen by the United Kingdom, and
interpersonal negative sentiments that greatly restricted America s trade with
European nations (including the vital trade with Britain) and in effect: America s
economy. American leaders at this point slightly miscalculated the effort by
deciding to invade Canada as the only viable way to properly attack Great Britain;
this created an aggressive beginning on America s part in this obscure war. The
Treaty of Ghent ended the conflict in 1815 and said nothing about the major issues
that caused the war and did not conclude in a victory for either side; it called for the
return of preceding conditions before the war and did little to nothing to solve the
tensions between these two major nations: the United States and the United
Kingdom. So how did Americans feel about this unclear war? The War of 1812is
America s most unpopular war as it is largely forgotten in our history. The New
Englanders specifically opposed the war, with some Republicans lending a hand in
the anti war effort. At this time New England was politically dominated by the

1. Introduction The classical job shop scheduling problem (JSP) is one of the
major issues in production planning that each operation is performed by the
machine for finding completion time. Machine is fixed and known in advance.
The sequencing of all jobs is assigned on all machines. This problem is developed
method to find the answer more effective and widely. The flexible job shop
scheduling problem (FJSP) extended from the classical job shop scheduling
problem (JSP) that each operation can be processed by any machine from a set of
available machines at that time and effect to flexible in the machine selection for
more efficiency in the usage of the machine and without the delay of waiting for
production. Generally, the FJSP can be separated two sub problem; 1) a routing sub

Abstract
The Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 has changed the focus of copyright
enforcement away from the act of copyright infringement and toward the act of
circumvention of the technologies used to protect the rights of digital media owners.

1. Introduction
Prior to the 1990s, United States copyright legislation, like the media that it protected,
had remained relatively unchanged. The advancement of digital technologies,
specifically the advent of the Internet and the increasing ability to easily exchange
digital media, prompted a change in copyright law. This change came in the form of
the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). The act extends the protections
given to copyright holders. In order to provide this additional protection, the
DMCA also has adverse effects. This paper will explore copyright law in the United
States and discuss the positive and negative effects of the DMCA, as well as some of
the ethical implications associated with it.

41. Gandhi s Vision for India
Gandhi s Vision for India
Near the start of the twentieth century, India pursuit for national identity concentrates
on achieving individualism from British rule. Indian nationalism put the British
Empire s grasp on India at risk. Because of the development of extensive railway
system across India to make possible the export of natural resources brought about the
conception of national unity by passing the people of the subcontinent in easy contact
to each other. Furthermore, the British knew that small party of foreigners could not
manage and regulate large country of India. Therefore, the British form elite of
intellectual Indian bureaucrats to control the country. The European structure of

Because both religion groups focus on achieving same goal of contributing to God
s will on earth as it is in heaven, they realize religious wars were suicidal, and that
neither group would forsake their religion by force weaponry; thus, the Hindus
and Muslims choose to live in peace with one another. Gandhi concluded that
Hindus and Muslims are fellow countrymen in India; thus, they will have to dwell
in harmony with each other if only for their own religious reasons. Moreover,
Gandhi talks about his strategy of nonviolent acts to get the British out of India.
Gandhi uses the method passive resistance to sway the hearts of British to stop
racial acts against the citizens of India. According to Gandhi, Passive resistance is
a method of securing rights by personal suffering. The fact that there are so many
men still alive in the world shows that it based not on the force of arms but on the
force of truth or love [qtd.in Overfield 46]. Furthermore, Gandhi concluded,
Passive resistance is an all sided sword; it can be used anyhow; it blesses him who
uses it and hi against whom it is used. Without drawing a drop of blood, it produces
far reaching results [qtd.in Overfield 46].
In closing, the purpose of Mohandas Gandhi s pamphlet, Indian Home Rule, to
motivate Indian nationalists to strive toward gaining independence from British rule.

42. Shintoism In Princess Mononoke
Princess Mononoke was released in 1997, and became the highest grossing film in
Japan until Titanic came out later that year. It was meant to be director Hayao
Miyazaki s last film before he went into retirement, and is praised as one of his
absolute masterpieces. Today, I will be critiquing two articles that discuss aspects of
Princess Mononokes themes and influences, one that relates Shintoism to Miyazaki s
narratives by Oscar Garza, and another that focuses on the icons found throughout his
filmography by Mohammad Amzad Hossain and Wei Hsin Fu.
First a quick summary: Princess Mononoke follows the last prince of the Emishi
named Ashitaka who, when defending his village from a demonic boar, is cursed
to die. In order to lift the curse, Ashitaka travels west and finds Iron Town, a mining
settlement on the outskirts of a divine forest. He meets their leader, Lady Eboshi,
who is currently at war with the forest gods. Disapproving of the violence that the
town people partake in against the forest, Ashitaka seeks to meet with the gods and
their human daughter, San. The dwellers of the forest wish to kill all the humans in
an attempt to take back their home. Now Ashitaka must become a peace keeper and
stop an all out war, hoping that by doing so the Shishigami, also known as the Forest
Spirit, will lift the curse.
Oscar Garza s Hayao Miyazaki and Shinto: A Spiritual Connection employs the
theory of structuralism, the idea of relating aspects of cultural practices and their
