framework. To understand what we are attempting to accomplish, you need to understand the
denotation of policy analysis. Policy analysis is a technique used in public administration so
individuals can evaluate and scrutinize policies. Policyanalysis is not only limited to policy s that
are already enacted, policy analysiscan be used to analyze perspective policy s. There are already a
handful of policy analysis frameworks available for use. These include: Chambers 2009, Gilbert

The oppression of certain groups of people is nothing new. These oppressed groups tend to be
looked at as different because of their physical features and/or cultural background. Many efforts
to improve the lives of the oppressed have been achieved, but there is still a long way to go.
These oppressed groups consist of women and different ethnic groups which have had to deal
with being pushed around by the white man throughout history. Frantz Fanon deals with his
experience as a black man in the French colony of Martinique. Simone de Beauvoir speaks about
her experience as a woman in the French mainland. Both authors assert the idea that the man, in
particular the white man, sets himself as the superior being that defines what it is to be human
and views women and blacks or minorities as the Other . In the Lived Experience of a Black
man chapter, Fanon asserts his anger towards the white man because a black person s skin color
is the basis for prejudice and thus they are not the ideal human. He is annoyed that when someone
mentions a physician or a teacher and they are black, the white society seems surprised that these
black scholars are gentle or intelligent. His anger leads him wanting to be accepted by the white

These collectivized farms soon proved both impracticable and too costly (Davies 1980). A number
of factors contributed to the level of inefficiency of the Soviet collectivized system throughout its
history, and this essay will discuss these factors and ultimately comment on the key factors
responsible for these inefficiencies. Primarily, this essay will concentrate on, the poor treatment of
peasants who worked on the collective farms, and the impacts this treatment had on their incentives
to produce. Throughout this essay there will be a strong focus on the labour market as the main
cause of inefficiencies, along with the inability of the Soviet Union to correctly manage the sizeable

was interviewed in the film, we could not get a good presentation of others views of his
experiences in jail. While in prison, Malcolm hears about the Nation of Islam through his family.
The leader of the group, Elijah Mohammed had a central idea that all white men were devils. In
learning this, Malcolm thought back to all of the white people he had previously encountered. It is
easier for us to understand Malcolm s thought process after reading the book, since the film did not
tell us of all of his relationships with white people. Malcolm then converted to Islam.
Replacing his last name with X did more than just change his name, it changed his personality.
He changed his last named because he did not want to be connected in any way with his old last
name that was given to his ancestors by slave owners. The film really let us know his displeasure
with his old last name. During an interview, Malcolm refused to tell his interviewer his given last
name. I felt as though the movie was very helpful in learning about him as Malcolm X. The book
would tell us about how Malcolm gave powerful speeches and little details about his preaching but
you cannot replace the actual footage of his speeches. On several occasions,
