Advantages And Disadvantages Of International Commercial...
5.1 Critical Analysis
International commercial arbitration has evolved, primarily, against the background of two unifying
international traditions: the private international legal tradition, directed at the harmonization of laws;
and the public international law tradition, committed to reducing global barriers to trade. International
Commercial arbitration is the most widely used tool for resolution of trade or commercial disputes.
The effort should be made to tackle the problems which will benefit commercial transaction activities.
Most of the domestic courts were very slow in dealing with Arbitration cases. Therefore, parties now
resort to Arbitration in order to avoid lengthy and complex litigation procedure.
The Study findings revealed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A practical solution to avoid this issue is to include an Immunity Waiver Clause in the arbitration
agreement. States are generally not comfortable with this clause; however, this puts an obligation on
the state to not use this as a defence during enforcement of awards. Once any State agrees to
arbitration, it is an assumed principle that the State has waived its Sovereign Immunity. Under
International Conventions like New York Convention, if the state enters into an agreement, it is treated
as if the State has waived its Immunity and can be taken up as strong evidence against the State. The
situation is difficult as national courts (dealing with enforcement of awards) refuse to build up special
rules and regulations for the enforcement of arbitral awards and they are guided by the principles
applicable in judicial proceedings . Therefore it is probable on some occasions for litigants to conquer
the hindrance that are present while enforcing an award against

Descriptive Essay On A Midnight Forest
I m laying down in grass and snow, in the middle of Midnight Forest. Judging by the beams of
moonlight coming in through the trees, it must be around midnight. I m not sure what I m doing here,
but I have a feeling of uncertainty. Saige. I hear a whisper from behind me. I whip around, and my
eyes scan what I thought was an empty forest. I shake my head and stand up, snowflakes floating off
of my winter coat and skirt.
I see my breath in the air, and it mesmerizes me for a second. A big clump of snow abruptly falls from
the trees. I gasp at the sudden noise and look up to where the snow fell from. An owl is looking down
at me, it s never blinking eyes looking into mine, and it feels like it s invading my brain.
My head starts to hurt, and I close my eyes and rub my temples. I reopen my eyes and the owl is right
in front of my face. I let out a small shriek and fall backward into the snow. All I can hear was my
uneven breaths. I hear a rustle in the bushes to my right, but the dark light proves a challenge to see
through. The rustling of the bushes stopped for a minute, and I felt an ephemeral moment of peace. I
stood up on shaky legs and took a deep breath in.
For some reason unknown, my brain wasn t begging me to leave the forest. In fact, I was drawn to
what looked like a neglected cabin. I felt captivated by the building, despite the archaic style. I took
slow but steady steps towards the old cabin.. Come in, The building whispered to me in an enthralling
way. My steps quickened and I ended up at a full on sprint to get inside the building.
I took my first step inside the creaky wooden door, and time seemed to slow. The ancient building
transformed into a state of the art building from the 1950 s. I felt like I was hallucinating. My vision
flashed between a room full of laughter and warmth, and a room full of blood and horror. I backed up
against a door and ran into someone. I began to mumble a sorry until I turned around.
There, one of the aliens that invaded our planet was looking at me, it s black eyes locked onto mine. I
screamed as loud as I could, and the scene became happy once more. Miss, are you okay? A lady in
asked me, a concerned look plastered on her face. The

Recommendation For Revision Of Penn Mart s Health Care...
Abstract
This paper is an analysis of the critical points of the Recommendation for Revision of Penn Mart s
Health Care Strategy memo (Penn Mart Memo) in relation to the points in the report by Roy Eichhorn,
Strategic Systems Department, Army Management Staff College, entitled, Developing Thinking
Skills: Critical Thinking at the Army Management Staff College. The author of the Penn Mart memo
is Senior VP of Human Resources, Salvador Monella whose indicated purpose is to offer a remedy to
the spiraling costs of healthcare benefits. The analysis will be broken into sections based off of the
analysis structure defined by the report by Roy Eichhorn.
Review of the Penn Mart Memo in Accordance with the Critical Thinking at the Army Management
Staff College report.
1. Purpose, Goal, or End in View.
The purpose or goal described in the Penn Mart memo is a program engineered to lower employee
benefit costs paid by the company. The method of attaining this outcome would be to implement a
mandatory Get Well employee health screening and monitoring program. The author s conclusion to
the problem of a costly employee health benefit program is to institute a multi prong monitoring
program would include biometric screening described as finger stick blood tests for cholesterol and
glucose; weight, height, and waist measurement; and a blood pressure reading as well as required
health questionnaire and annual physical examinations.

The Boston Symphony Orchestra Analysis
The Boston Symphony Orchestra is one of the country s five major symphony orchestras, and
constantly has new pieces for music lovers. The February 2014 concert opened with Prelude to the
Afternoon of a Faun by Claude Debussy,it s a very youthful piece that depicts the young in a gentle
and carefree nature. Impressionism was a leading art movement during his time.In France,
Impressionist was a term used to say a persons work did not follow the norms or rules of society.
Claude was a leading composer of impressionist music and respected among his peers. One of the
earliest art movements of the 20th century was Impressionism. The whole tone scale can often be seen
in his pieces and form the basis of his music .For example, The opening flute solo has a whole tone
descent below the original pitch. Debussy pieces were majorly influenced by poetry and one of my
favorite pieces was influence by a personal friend ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The faun was a mythical creature who awakes in a forest. He can t remember what lead him into the

before fluctuating back down to the original pitch. The harps are joined by the French horns for more
of a ethereal effect. The music proceeds without abrupt shifts; themes blend into each other, slowly
rising and falling. The middle section features clarinet and oboe solos before the flute gradually
retakes the lead. In the final moments, light touches of percussion from finger cymbals are
heard.During the piece Debussy rarely uses brass and percussion ,he instead uses Crotales when
necessary. Four horns are used the English horn is used in the wind section as well as strings .His

Reflective Practice Essay
Reflective practice A tool for learning
Introduction/Rationale
When something goes wrong or something unexpected happens during a lesson or activity, we ask
ourselves questions such as, could I have done something to avoid it? These experiences usually make
us grow and we learn from experience, and we will be better prepared to face the situation if it
happened again. This introspection is generally called reflection , and all professionals have adopted it
in order to improve their practice, but for educators reflection involves critical thinking about past
experiences or current experiences that occur or are occurring in classroom settings and looking at
them in a positive light on how to make improvements for their teaching ... Show more content on

The literature review will include models of reflective practice and theorists who have had a major
input for developing theory for reflective practice.
When we speak of reflective practitioners we usually refer to adult learners who are engaged in some
kind of activity (often professional) which they can use to reflect on their strengths, weaknesses and
areas for development. However, reflective thinking is not an innovation in teaching. It has its roots in
the work of a number of educational theorists. The concept has been around for over 50 years. Some
theorists define reflective teaching/thinking as; A set of abilities and skills, to indicate the taking of a
critical stance, an orientation to problem solving or state of mind This encapsulates the wide range of
activities associated with thinking about your learning. (Moon, 1999)
Reflective teaching is seen as a process through which the capacity to make professional judgments
can be developed and maintained (Pollard, 2002)
Schon (1983) speaks of reflective practitioners who are not just skilful or competent but thoughtful,
wise and contemplative , whose work involves intuition, insight and artistry .
Today, reflective practice is best understood as an approach which promotes autonomous learning that
aims to develop practitioners understanding and critical thinking skills. It refers to an activity or
process, in which an experience is recalled,

Theme Of Morality In Trifles
Ethics and morals are two different things although quite similar. Ethics relate to the essence of right
and wrong according to the law. This is exhibited in the pre meditated murder that we see in the play
Trifles. Morals are related to personal standards. What may be morally right for one person may not be
morally right for another person. Morals are based on a person s upbringing, their religion, and their
personal beliefs. In Trifles, Sweat, and The Storm, Susan Glaspell, Zora Neal Hurston, and Kate
Chopin use symbolism to show, develop, and illustrate the theme of ethics versus morals. Susan
Glaspell uses the bird to justify the murder of Mr. Wright in Trifles. Within the play there is a broken
bird cage. This cage is symbolic of Minnie Wright s marriage. She lives in the middle of nowhere with
John. This isolation breaks Minnie Wright s spirit, just like the cage is broken. In the story it says, She
used to sing real pretty herself (986). Since Minnie is out in the country with no one but John, that bird
is her lifeline to the outside world. She lives through that bird. John s oppression of Minnie, and the
fact that he cold heartedly killed her bird takes away her desire to sing, or dance, or dress pretty.
Arthur Waterman states She was figuratively strangled by John (3). In turn, Minnie literally strangles
John with a rope in his sleep. The women don t always find this action morally or ethically right. Mrs.
Peters, in the beginning, said But, Mrs. Hale, the law is the law (Glaspell 984). After finding out about
the bird, and pondering the situation among themselves, the women all agree with Minnie Wright. It
was justifiable homicide in their eyes, thus making it ethically and morally right in their eyes. Hurston
s Sweat uses the snake as symbolism, and to justify Delia s actions after Sykes is bitten. In the story,
Delia is a faithful Christian woman who is married to a devil like man named Sykes. Hurston
associates the snake to Sykes. The snake symbolizes Sykes representation of the Devil. Sykes knows
that Delia is scared of snakes. Delia tells Sykes, You know how skeered Ah is of snakes. Course Ah
Knowed it (1). Sykes not only torments Delia, he also cheats on her openly. Sykes does

The Rise Of Democracy Throughout Europe Essay
The Rise of Democracy in Europe The rise of democracy within Europe was vital to the importance of
the individual, and was marked by a transition from the governing by one feudal lord, to the governing
by an elected official. This transition brought change not only to humanistic thinking, but also enabled
mankind to have basic human rights which improved life for the country s citizens. This shift of
thinking to the rights of individuals was spurred by the Protestant Reformation and the creation of the
social contract which enabled a perfect atmosphere for the rise of democracy within Europe. During
the feudal system, military lords ruled the people with little regard for human rights. The people were
used only as pawns for the wellbeing of the feudal system and were seen as such, but with the rise of
an economy based on money instead of land, the feudal system began to rapidly decline. As the feudal
system dwindled away, the individual rights of man increased with the rise of the market economy,
which in turn propelled the spirit of democracy within the people (International Center for Peace and
Development ). While money began to circulate within this new type of economy, the financial
stability of the monarchs began to collapse, while the merchant class was becoming wealthy. This
transition of wealth tore down the stronghold that had suppressed the population during the feudal
system, and allowed the wealthy merchant power to become important political figures.

The Diversity Of Soil Invertebrates
Introduction: The diversity of soil invertebrates is very important to our ecosystem, because most soil
invertebrates are responsible for key soil processes such as nutrient recycling, nutrient retention,
formation of soil structure, and decomposition rates. Invertebrates are one of the most dominant
groups of animals in the world. Recent studies show that animals may constitute as much as 23% of
the total diversity of living organisms (Lavelle et al., 2006).
Common soil invertebrates include arthropods and nematodes. These soil invertebrates provide major
ecosystem services. For example, ants, dung beetles, ground beetles, earthworms, and slugs aid in
seed dispersal, which is important because seed dispersal is known to affect food production and
nutrient recycling as well as decomposition rates. Bees, butterflies, moths, and ants aid in pollination.
These invertebrates are very important because about three fourths of all plants are pollinator
dependent and insects tend to provide most of the animal pollination globally. Without pollinators
plant species would be more susceptible to extinction. In agricultural systems, invertebrate pollinators
are responsible for the successful production of vegetables and fruits that maintain livestock
production. Nematodes, annelids, and arthropods aid in decomposition (Prather et al., 2012)

Khrushchev Genuinely committed to peaceful coexistence
In the years 1955
62, Khrushchev was genuinely committed to peaceful coexistence. Peaceful co

existence is the idea that the two superpowers in the world, the USSR and the USA can accept each
other s ideologies and consequentially their satellite states in the interests of peace, whether
Khrushchev was entirely committed to this notion is debatable due to his behind the scenes actions
between 1955 and 1962. The Austrian state treaty of 1955 seemed to show Khrushchev s commitment
to peaceful coexistence, but his aggression after the U2 spy plane incident of 1960 and the gamble
with peace over the Berlin wall in 1961 and Cuba in 1962 suggest his commitment to ... Show more

This shows the imperialistic nature of the Soviet Union and not of truly peaceful cohabitation by
clearly dividing the world on the wider Cold War basis by intrusive political and military intervention.
It seems contradictory to the previous peaceful concessions made by the Soviet Union at the Geneva
Summit and this shows how the Soviet Union were still trying to maintain an advantage over the
Capitalist world rather than accepting a diplomatic change. This can be deduced as an attempt to build
on Soviet power whilst also trying to repress American power through far less than peaceful methods.
Furthermore tension was at it s highest following the military actions of the Soviet Union prior to the
Cuban Missile in 1962. For example Khrushchev created a physical and metaphorical barrier that
divided Eastern and West germany yet also divided the Capitalist and Communist worlds. This was
evident with the erection of the Berlin Wall on 13th August 1961. This was done in order to prevent
the massive emigration of East German

Definition Of A Comedy
Comedy to me is something that you see or hear that makes people laugh. What I find funny are
impersonations, things that are expected or sarcastic jokes. Impersonations can mean the way someone
talks, walks or acts. I personally find some accents to be hilarious and if someone imitates the accent,
it will just crack me up., If its someone famous that everyone knows and if that person talks funny or
walks funny, then it will cause other people to laugh because they know its true. An expected joke is
when, someone tells a joke but you already know how its going to end so you start laughing before the
joker finishes the joke. Sarcasm is probably the best jokes to me. Here s one: A couple walks in a
restaurant and the waiter says Would you like ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, I love watching Steve Harvey and Kevin Hart. As long as I m watching, I just cant stop
laughing. While I can relate to what the joke is about say for instance, the look mama gives you in
church when you talking through service . Without having to mimic the look on her face, I already
know because I can relate to that. A person who cannot relate to this would probably not find it funny
because they don t realize what so funny about it. Even if the person could relate, they may think that
the joke is disrespectful especially if they were the subject being joked about. In this case it would be
the mothers. The thing I love about my two favorite comedians is the way the tell the joke. They don t
just tell jokes, they put on a whole show by the way they talk, act and laugh.
I have never heard of funny bone so I looked it up. Its actually an nerve called the ulna nerve found at
your elbow and it creates a tingling sensation when it hit against the humerus. It s a weird or funny
feeling that is felt after the bone and the nerve collides and that s how it got the name funny bone .

attach to strategies of domination as well as those of resistance . More particularly, discourse are
settings, context, actions, fundamental interaction and the significance that governs the way it works
with one another. Discourses could also be seen as a process where specific values and structures that

The First Act Of Terror
For many years now, the United States has been fighting a war on terrorism. The first act of terror, that
was committed on the soil of the United States in my lifetime, was that of September eleventh. It took
nineteen hijackers, to bring America down to its knees by striking both world trade centers, the
pentagon, and flight ninety three which was responsible for the killing of almost three thousand
people. These attacks created a huge burden on our first responders and hospitals. The knowledge
gained from disaster response and recovery classes and or courses would have been one of the greatest

and for the greatest use of supplies available. The days, weeks, months, and years required to recover
from these incidents not just in the hot zone, but medically and mentally have set forth implementation
of how we focus our efforts before, during, and after hazards strike. The affects of September
eleventh, have taught us as first responders and government officials valuable information on disaster
response and recovery efforts.
In the morning of September eleventh, two thousand and one American citizens and visitors, public
safety officials, hospital staff, and every other person in the world woke up from their beds expecting
a normal day as that of September tenth. People were driving to and from work, getting their kids off
to school, grabbing their coffee, and resuming their activities of daily living. At eight forty six in the
morning American Airlines flight eleven struck the North tower of the World trade center, which
would collapse at ten twenty eight. Three minutes past nine, flight one seventy five would crash into
the south tower, and fall one minute before ten am. Flight seventy seven strikes part of the pentagon,
which causes damage and death. Finally at three minutes past ten in the

women through gender roles and stereotyping. Marge Piercy s Barbie Doll is no exception, Barbie
Doll is the story of a young girl who try s endlessly for society s version of perfection, but she dies
trying to reach the unrealistic expectations that she is being force fed. Marge Piercy published Barbie
Doll in 1971, during the time of second wave feminism. The history and dedication that many women

Omnivore s Dilemma By Michael Pollan
Michael Pollan is the author of several New York Times bestseller books including the Omnivore s
Dilemma. He is a professor of journalism at UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. Michael
Pollan s perspective on food is that we should know what is in it and where it comes from, who grows
it and how. The theme of this book is the industrial revolution for food. Its purpose is to make
awareness that our food is getting its energy from our resources. Michael Pollan s goal with the

Michael refers to the supermarket as a landscape where all species derived from the single crop of
corn. Michael tells a story about a corn field in Iowa where the farm had been passed down to the
family and was quiet successful back in the day. George s crop in inedible they are fed to livestock so
shipped to factories to be processed. His family survives from the income of his wife who works for a
social services agency. The supply of corn has greatly surpassed the demand and therefore alternative
decisions must be made as to where the corn will go which is why it is fed to cattle and other
livestock. This is Pollan s way of tracing the steps of the industrial food chain. Since corn is produced
so cheaply using synthetic nitrogen which creates a dependency on our fossil fuel resources rather
than our solar resource. The Feedlot method has produced more issues than solutions. Yes, it does
result in fattening cattle quicker which in term then produces faster meat but it results in manure that
is extremely high in concentration of phosphorous and nitrogen that cannot be used as fertilizer to
regenerate nutrients in the soil. If the soil cannot be regenerated cattle must be moved which leads to
medical problems, which were attempted to be solved using antibiotics but only increased antibiotic
resistant bacteria. These new practices benefit corporations that run them and produce easy and quick
cheap meat but Pollan warns that they come with repercussions. Some of those

My Personal Definition For School Curriculum Essay
The meaning of the term curriculum is difficult to define. For school, Pratt (in Brady and Kennedy,
2014, p. 3) argues that curriculum can be an organized set of formal educational and training
intentions . For students, Marsh and Wills (in Brady and Kennedy, 2014, p. 3) maintain that
curriculum is an interrelated set of plans and experiences that a student undertakes under the guidance
of the school , while for teachers, the challenge is to develop curricula that will cater for the needs of
all students (Ah Sam Ackland, 2005). There are various meanings attached to the term curriculum .
My personal definition for school curriculum is that schools develop programs of different study areas
basing on the content of the national curriculum document; teachers plan their teaching basing on the
programs; eventually, students experience the curriculum by engaging in diverse teaching activities. In
this essay, I will be discussing The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) in relation to the
strategic plan and teaching philosophy of Hampton Park East Kindergarten. EYLF for Australia
guides Early Childhood Education in Australia today. The aim of this framework is to support children
s learning and development from birth to eight years. The framework provides a guideline for early
childhood educators to foster children s physical and mental development. Early childhood educators
in Australia recognize the importance of family education in children s learning and the EYLF

Essay on Ford Motor Company
Ford Motor Compnay HISTORY
Henry Ford was an engineer from Detroit, Michigan who had an idea. By 1902, Ford had attempted
several times to produce a gas powered vehicle, but with little capital, he realized that his attempts
were futile. Ford approached a man by the name of Alexander T. Malcomson about the possibility of
manufacturing an automobile. Malcomson, a friend of the family and wealthy coal merchant was
reluctant at first but finally agreed with Ford, and decided to assit Ford financially with his endeavor.
With Malcomsons investment and Ford s engineering skills a partnership was formed and in mid June

Reducing The Primary Cesarean Section Rate
Reducing the Primary Cesarean Section Rate in Nulliparous Women:
A Quality Improvement Project
Julie A. Javernick, CNM, MSN
Submitted to
Drs. Joan Nelson and Kathy Shaw of the University of Colorado College of Nursing in partial
fulfillment of the requirements for NUDO 7018
Introduction
Background
Healthy childbirth is defined as a safe, natural process that rarely requires medical intervention (Goer
Romano, 2012). The medical model of care, however, often includes interventions that are not
supported by the evidence and can increase a woman s risk of having a cesarean section. These
intrusions into labor and birth often lead to what has been called the cascade of interventions
(DeClercq, Sakala, Corry, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services are also requiring participating hospitals with more
than 1,100 births a year to report their primary cesarean section rates. Theses rate will be published in
2016 (The Joint Commission, 2013).
Local Problem Lutheran Medical Center (LMC), one of eight hospitals in the Sister s of Charity of
Leavenworth Health System, had the second highest cesarean section rate in the system in 2014 (SCL
Health, 2015). Westside Women s Care (WWC), a privately owned obstetrics practice, employs 14
providers who attend approximately 65% of the births at LMC. WWC s primary cesarean section rate
from March 2014 to March 2015 was 34.8%, the highest of all LMC provider groups. The primary
cesarean section rate in Colorado in 2012 was 17.4% and the Healthy People 2020 goal for primary
cesarean section is 23.9% (Osterman Martin, 2014; U.S. Department of Health and Human Services,
2015). To help decrease the primary cesarean section rate at WWC and subsequently LMC, a quality
improvement project (QIP) team was formed composed of providers from WWC and administrators
and nurses at LMC. A root cause analysis was conducted and Fishbone diagram were developed (See
Appendix A). Several themes emerged as contributing to the high cesarean section rate. These

Eight Chemical Reactions
There are many reaction types that can occur when compounds come together to form different types
of products. In chemistry, there are eight different basic types of reactions. The eight basic reactions
include: combustion, synthesis, decomposition, precipitation, single replacement, double replacement,
acid/base, and redox reactions. These reactions are categorized into their reaction type by their
differences and similarities. The first type of reaction is combustion. A combustion reaction is when a
substance is combined with oxygen and releases heat and light energy. An example of a combustion
reaction is the combustion of hydrogen. When a balloon with oxygen and hydrogen is supplied with
heat by a candle, it triggers an explosive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another known name for this type of reaction is a displacement reaction. These type of solutions
mostly occur in liquid solution and the amount of energy used in this type of reaction is smaller than
that of a synthesis or decomposition reaction. In this type of reaction, in a compound, an element
replaces a similar element. For example we have elements A, B, and X. In this equation we heave
element A + compound BX. Element A will replace element B to form B + AX. (A + BX B + AX)
Another reaction is a double replacement. This reaction usually produces an insoluble gas or water.
Double replacement is when in two compounds, ions will exchange places in a liquid solution
(aqueous solution) to form a new compound. For example A, B, X, and Y are ions in the first part of
the equation, AX + BY. The ions X and Y will replace each other to form a new compound to form AY
+ BX. ( AX + BY AY + BY) A different type of reaction would be an acid/base reaction. This reaction
is a neutralization. An acid is a substances that looses protons which are H+ ions and a base is a
substance that receives protons. When equal amounts of protons are lost by an acid and the same
amounts of protons are being received by a base, they neutralize each other. That creates a product that
is neither acidic nor basic by the two substances (acid and a

Summary Of The Case 26, 2000, Monterey County, California
Case 3: On October, 26, 2000, Monterey County, California was the scene of a remarkable
phenomenon. According to the reports, in the morning of the incidence, at least two of the major Bay
Area radio stations stated that a terrorist group called the Locos managed to blast a hole in Lake
Nacimiento Dam, causing a deadly wall of water sweeping across the Salinas Valley. The disturbing
news caused a wave of panic in the Valley s residents. Fortunately, it turned out to be a disaster drill
that inadvertently set off incorrect media reports. Even though the misreports of the disaster drill
caused a brief public panic for the Monterey County residents, no case of harmed citizen was reported.
Yet, according to the Monterey officials, calls from

Charlestown Light Display
It s the time of the year where people turn yards into a giant light displays. In many town squares
people create an electric winter wonderland by creating light displays that are set up in amazing
patterns to make props of anything that is relative of Christmas, scenes from famous Christmas
movies, famous Christmas characters, or Characters that have a cartoon or movie. have speakers that
play Christmas music, and setting lights to turn on or off to make a part. In Scottsburg sadly we have a
display, but its not interactive or impressive as other towns.
There are some alternatives to the crisis of wanting a good display you can visit these local displays
that you will enjoy. In Charlestown they have a fully automated light display with music, lights, and
fake snow machines almost every year. Each year there is something new added to the display making
it even better than before. The lights that are in the display are centered in the park in the square, but
they put the lights not only in that one space in the park but on surrounding buildings. The

Managing Change MGT 420 Joselyn Ortiz Nestlé Case Study Did Nestlé undergo either first order
and/or second order change according to the case? Answer, listing examples of types of change from
the above story. From what I read the Nestlé company under went both the first order and the second
order. In the First order the strategic changes the company took string in 1900 s. The Swiss based
company only sold its products through sales agents to outside countries. It soon changed its approach
to global expansion by purchasing local subsidies in foreign markets. This changed maintained the
companies goals and organizational purpose. The next strategic change was during the WWI with the
increase demand in dairy products. Nestlé ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Outline how the Nestlé management team may have reacted to each implication. The implication of
change manager that would apply to Nestlé would be the first change. Care needs to be taken in
assuming that types of organizational changes can be neatly categorized as small, adaptive and
incremental compared to those that are large and transformational (Palmer). Nestlé adapted to the
changes, due to the incremental changes. It s not necessarily and objective given by the company to
change, it s the movement that Nestlé thought would meet the best financial and strategic goals put in
place. As far as the other changes the second one concerning multiple types of changes as
simultaneously, not sure if that would have worked with them. I mean the company would not have
had time to adapt to two changes at the same time. Would the company have made it through? Not
sure if they would have made it as big as they are today. The smaller changes would have worked for
them, but for it not to effect the company on a larger scale not sure if that would have been good for
them. The changes they made were on a large scale to begin with and the company adapted very well
but again with one change at a time and the by in of the executives. Find three examples of lessons
from the front line that are evident in the Nestlé case. How could these issues be overcome?
Downsizing for Nestlé was the retrenchment. With the retrenchment downsizing may

Deforestation In Costa Rica
Recently our environment and the effects of global warming have been featured prominently in the
media. Global warming was an important issue in the last presidential election, and many scientists
urge people to research the problem. When thinking of global warming many people think of melting
ice caps, or emissions from cars and power plants, blissfully unaware that deforestation is just as
destructive. When traveling to Costa Rica, the effects of deforestation are abundantly clear. The
technique of slashing and burning turned what was once a lush forest into a sea of mud and logs. Ever
since seeing this destruction, deforestation has become an area of great interest in my life. According
to a study by the Scientific American, deforestation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The World Wildlife Fund plays an important role in the conservation. By receiving donations and
partnerships, the WWF is able to lead missions that help conserve the worlds rainforests. The WWF
also does a great job of educating the public on the growing problem. A small donation is a great way
for an everyday person to help play a role in the conservation. Another way that companies can get
involved is by pledging to plant a tree for every tree they destroy. By following this system,
companies can receive a profit from the timber they cut down while rebuilding the rainforests. This
idea is being put in place, however, the rate of destruction is still much greater than the amount of
trees being planted. The UN has discovered another way to help reduce deforestation. The plan is
called REDD. The goal is to reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation. This plan
also looks to conserve, and sustain the forests in developing countries. REDD provides the
opportunity to reduce emissions from deforestation on a wide scale for a low cost. The International
Institute for Environment and Development s website explains how the REDD program works, As a
concept, REDD is simple. Funding rewards good forest management in developing countries and
makes poor forest management, such as indiscriminate unenforced logging, less profitable than the
sustainable alternative (International Institute for

Characteristics of Drama
History of Drama
Ancient Drama
The origins of Western drama can be traced to the celebratory music of 6th century BC Attica, the
Greek region centered on Athens. Although accounts of this period are inadequate, it appears that the
poet Thespis developed a new musical form in which he impersonated a single character and engaged
a chorus of singer dancers in dialogue. As the first composer and soloist in this new form, which came
to be known as tragedy, Thespis can be considered both the first dramatist and the first actor. Of the
hundreds of works produced by Greek tragic playwrights, only 32 plays by the three major innovators
in this new art form survive. Aeschylus created the possibility of developing conflict between
characters by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Subject matter was drawn from nature and natural man (such as the supposedly untouched Native
American). Perhaps one of the best examples of Romantic drama is Faust (Part I, 1808; Part II, 1832)
by the German playwright Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Based on the classic legend of the man who
sells his soul to the devil, this play of epic proportions depicts humankind s attempt to master all
knowledge and power in its constant struggle with the universe. The Romantics focused on emotion
rather than rationality, drew their examples from a study of the real world rather than the ideal, and
glorified the idea of the artist as a mad genius unfettered by rules. Romanticism thus gave rise to a
vast array of dramatic literature and production that was often undisciplined and that often substituted
emotional manipulation for substantial ideas.
Romanticism first appeared in Germany, a country with little native theatre other than rustic farces
before the 18th century. By the 1820s Romanticism dominated the theatre of most of Europe. Many of
the ideas and practices of Romanticism were evident in the late 18th century Sturm und Drang
movement of Germany led by Goethe and the dramatist Friedrich Schiller. These plays had no single
style but were generally strongly emotional, and, in their experimentation with form, laid the
groundwork for the rejection of Neo Classicism. The plays of the

The Evolution Of Hester s Suffering And The Forgiveness...
The Evolution of Hester s Suffering and the Forgiveness of Society
In The Scarlet Letter, by Nathaniel Hawthorne, Hester Prynne is forced to wear a scarlet A on her
chest, because of the sin, adultery, she committed. This letter separates Hester from the rest of the
Puritans in the town, and causes her much loneliness and suffering. In the beginning of the book, the
Puritans are disgusted by Hester, and shun her. As the book goes on, however, the townspeople slowly
begin to let Hester into society, and use her as an example of how suffering and good deeds can lead to
salvation. Hester s view of herself does not change, and it shows that society is not the only source of
her suffering. Hester s suffering and lack of suffering from the town reflect on the nature of the
Puritans, and reveal how even the strictest of societies can show compassion in certain circumstances.
By being forced to wear the scarlet letter in the beginning of the book, Hester becomes separated from
the rest of society, and is now suffering because of it. In the beginning of The Scarlet Letter, Hester is
made an example of what happens if one is to sin. The scarlet setter that Hester wears is used as a
reminder of what happens when one commits a sin. As soon as Hester puts on the scarlet letter, she is
separated from the rest of society. The scarlet letter had the effect of a spell, taking her out of the
ordinary relations with humanity, and inclosing her in a sphere by herself (51). This

North Eastern region of the United States has been serving as the backbone of US economy in many
respects. Obviously, it is densely populated region of the US due to the presence of megacities like
New York, Philadelphia and the capital Washington DC. The size and number of airports in this

major city areas lie in the Atlantic coastal plain, whereas mountains and hills are also significantly
affecting the the forest coverage as well as the climate of this area. More particularly, the climate is
regulated by the position of the general west to east flow of weather in the middle latitudes.
New Jersey is one of the densely populated city of the United States of America. It is divided into 3
geographic region; North Jersey, South Jersey and Central Jersey. Jersey city and Newark are two well

Gracile Features
Introduction
The more gracile features that denote a female typically include the smaller size or often nonexistence
of certain features found on the skeleton including but not limited to the nuchal crest, mastoid process,
and brow ridges. Also, the average height of a female is shorter than that of the average male. Due to
this difference in skeletal structure, most of the bones in the female skeleton should in some form be
sexually dimorphic. The trend of smaller features is of course excluding the pelvic girdle, on which
most female features are larger and rounder due to the skeletal requirements of childbirth. Given the
above statement, it is reasonable to predict that there would be a distinguishable difference between
the metacarpal of a male and a female. Studies have proved that metacarpals are sexually dimorphic,
and can be used to identify the sex of a skeleton in both Egyptian and Tai populations. Due to these
past studies, it is logical to assume that the same sexually dimorphism can be found in the European
population. If successful this study could develop an algorism to help determine the sex from just a
single bone. This advancement in our knowledge of sex identification could propel cases, in which the
sex of the induvial was undeterminable from the bones recovered.

Pedro Almodovar s Talk to Her (Hable con Ella) and Live...
Pedro Almodovar, in his recent films Talk to Her (Hable con Ella) (2002) and
Live Flesh (Carne Trémula) (1997), has brought a thoroughly modern interpretation to the genre of
melodrama. These fresh illustrations of human love, loneliness, frustration and individuality explore
the complexity of human interaction and interestingly, in Talk to Her, the interactions of the sentient in
relation to the insentient. Nothing is simple, Alicia s ballet teacher muses in Talk to Her, this statement
accurately captures the essential Pedro
Almodovar style.

What I wanted to show was the everyday life of some people who live there.
The use of colour is also instrumental in Pedro Almodovar s pop art style. The incorporation of
classical Catholic themed oil paintings in Elena s bedroom and also the images Lydia s sister is
arranging in the hotel before the bull fight are examples of the pop art movement. Almodovar was a
significant influence on the emerging culture of Spanish youth since the 1980 s. Almodovar s
exploration of issues such as the drug culture in a non traditional manner is evident in both movies.
The narrative does not directly comment on Elena s addiction to freebase cocaine and gratuitously
Sancho asks David if he has any cocaine because coke dries your tears . The film s ideology seems to
condone David s cannabis smoking as a healthier alternative to Sancho s drug of choice, namely,
alcohol. Marco can be seen to be smoking a joint while he looks on at Benigno,
Alicia and Alicia s ballet teacher on their balcony, in Talk to Her too.
This is significant in that it is an example of the liberalisation of Spanish culture since the death of
Franco and the emergence of Spain from that dictatorial, repressive regime. The exploration of the

Summary Of Christological Statements In Colossians
In providing Christological statements in Colossians, Paul concluded that Jesus Christ is the image of
the invisible God and the firstborn of all creation. Different religious sects provide their own
interpretations of this passage. Jehovah Witnesses, and the Arians of the fourth century, believe that
God first created Jesus Christ; therefore, He is the firstborn of creation. Mormons state that Jesus
Christ is the Son of God and of God s goddess wife. Thus, they consider Jesus Christ as their elder
brother. These interpretations reveal that Jesus Christ is a creation and consequently a lesser God, as
the Jehovah Witnesses believe, or that Jesus Christ is another God and subsequently believing in
polytheism, as the Mormons appear to believe.

Using Math Vocabulary With Intentionality While...
Students will use math vocabulary with intentionality while incorporating a comprehensive
vocabulary program that will be updated and utilized throughout the year as a main component of my
instruction. Throughout the ELL certification program, vocabulary has been consistently emphasized
as an invaluable strategy for the teaching and learning of ELL students. Although this has been
stressed, it has not become a focus in my instruction; my plan is to develop a structure that will ensure
that vocabulary becomes a part of my weekly lesson plan. Robert Marzano has written much
regarding vocabulary instruction. Additionally, he provides research to support just how important it is
not only to EL students, but also to all students throughout their learning. Marzano states, direct
vocabulary instruction has an impressive track record of improving students background knowledge
and the comprehension of academic content. Direct instruction on words that are critical to new
content produces the most powerful learning. Marzano is asserting that vocabulary is fundamental to
learning.

  • 2. Advantages And Disadvantages Of International Commercial... 5.1 Critical Analysis International commercial arbitration has evolved, primarily, against the background of two unifying international traditions: the private international legal tradition, directed at the harmonization of laws; and the public international law tradition, committed to reducing global barriers to trade. International Commercial arbitration is the most widely used tool for resolution of trade or commercial disputes. The effort should be made to tackle the problems which will benefit commercial transaction activities. Most of the domestic courts were very slow in dealing with Arbitration cases. Therefore, parties now resort to Arbitration in order to avoid lengthy and complex litigation procedure. The Study findings revealed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A practical solution to avoid this issue is to include an Immunity Waiver Clause in the arbitration agreement. States are generally not comfortable with this clause; however, this puts an obligation on the state to not use this as a defence during enforcement of awards. Once any State agrees to arbitration, it is an assumed principle that the State has waived its Sovereign Immunity. Under International Conventions like New York Convention, if the state enters into an agreement, it is treated as if the State has waived its Immunity and can be taken up as strong evidence against the State. The situation is difficult as national courts (dealing with enforcement of awards) refuse to build up special rules and regulations for the enforcement of arbitral awards and they are guided by the principles applicable in judicial proceedings . Therefore it is probable on some occasions for litigants to conquer the hindrance that are present while enforcing an award against ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Descriptive Essay On A Midnight Forest I m laying down in grass and snow, in the middle of Midnight Forest. Judging by the beams of moonlight coming in through the trees, it must be around midnight. I m not sure what I m doing here, but I have a feeling of uncertainty. Saige. I hear a whisper from behind me. I whip around, and my eyes scan what I thought was an empty forest. I shake my head and stand up, snowflakes floating off of my winter coat and skirt. I see my breath in the air, and it mesmerizes me for a second. A big clump of snow abruptly falls from the trees. I gasp at the sudden noise and look up to where the snow fell from. An owl is looking down at me, it s never blinking eyes looking into mine, and it feels like it s invading my brain. My head starts to hurt, and I close my eyes and rub my temples. I reopen my eyes and the owl is right in front of my face. I let out a small shriek and fall backward into the snow. All I can hear was my uneven breaths. I hear a rustle in the bushes to my right, but the dark light proves a challenge to see through. The rustling of the bushes stopped for a minute, and I felt an ephemeral moment of peace. I stood up on shaky legs and took a deep breath in. For some reason unknown, my brain wasn t begging me to leave the forest. In fact, I was drawn to what looked like a neglected cabin. I felt captivated by the building, despite the archaic style. I took slow but steady steps towards the old cabin.. Come in, The building whispered to me in an enthralling way. My steps quickened and I ended up at a full on sprint to get inside the building. I took my first step inside the creaky wooden door, and time seemed to slow. The ancient building transformed into a state of the art building from the 1950 s. I felt like I was hallucinating. My vision flashed between a room full of laughter and warmth, and a room full of blood and horror. I backed up against a door and ran into someone. I began to mumble a sorry until I turned around. There, one of the aliens that invaded our planet was looking at me, it s black eyes locked onto mine. I screamed as loud as I could, and the scene became happy once more. Miss, are you okay? A lady in asked me, a concerned look plastered on her face. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Boston Symphony Orchestra Analysis The Boston Symphony Orchestra is one of the country s five major symphony orchestras, and constantly has new pieces for music lovers. The February 2014 concert opened with Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun by Claude Debussy,it s a very youthful piece that depicts the young in a gentle and carefree nature. Impressionism was a leading art movement during his time.In France, Impressionist was a term used to say a persons work did not follow the norms or rules of society. Claude was a leading composer of impressionist music and respected among his peers. One of the earliest art movements of the 20th century was Impressionism. • 6. Reflective Practice Essay Reflective practice A tool for learning Introduction/Rationale When something goes wrong or something unexpected happens during a lesson or activity, we ask ourselves questions such as, could I have done something to avoid it? These experiences usually make us grow and we learn from experience, and we will be better prepared to face the situation if it happened again. This introspection is generally called reflection , and all professionals have adopted it in order to improve their practice, but for educators reflection involves critical thinking about past experiences or current experiences that occur or are occurring in classroom settings and looking at them in a positive light on how to make improvements for their teaching ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The literature review will include models of reflective practice and theorists who have had a major input for developing theory for reflective practice. When we speak of reflective practitioners we usually refer to adult learners who are engaged in some kind of activity (often professional) which they can use to reflect on their strengths, weaknesses and areas for development. However, reflective thinking is not an innovation in teaching. It has its roots in the work of a number of educational theorists. The concept has been around for over 50 years. Some theorists define reflective teaching/thinking as; A set of abilities and skills, to indicate the taking of a critical stance, an orientation to problem solving or state of mind This encapsulates the wide range of activities associated with thinking about your learning. (Moon, 1999) Reflective teaching is seen as a process through which the capacity to make professional judgments can be developed and maintained (Pollard, 2002) Schon (1983) speaks of reflective practitioners who are not just skilful or competent but thoughtful, wise and contemplative , whose work involves intuition, insight and artistry . Today, reflective practice is best understood as an approach which promotes autonomous learning that aims to develop practitioners understanding and critical thinking skills. It refers to an activity or process, in which an experience is recalled, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Theme Of Morality In Trifles Ethics and morals are two different things although quite similar. Ethics relate to the essence of right and wrong according to the law. This is exhibited in the pre meditated murder that we see in the play Trifles. Morals are related to personal standards. What may be morally right for one person may not be morally right for another person. Morals are based on a person s upbringing, their religion, and their personal beliefs. In Trifles, Sweat, and The Storm, Susan Glaspell, Zora Neal Hurston, and Kate Chopin use symbolism to show, develop, and illustrate the theme of ethics versus morals. Susan Glaspell uses the bird to justify the murder of Mr. Wright in Trifles. Within the play there is a broken bird cage. This cage is symbolic of Minnie Wright s marriage. She lives in the middle of nowhere with John. This isolation breaks Minnie Wright s spirit, just like the cage is broken. In the story it says, She used to sing real pretty herself (986). Since Minnie is out in the country with no one but John, that bird is her lifeline to the outside world. She lives through that bird. John s oppression of Minnie, and the fact that he cold heartedly killed her bird takes away her desire to sing, or dance, or dress pretty. Arthur Waterman states She was figuratively strangled by John (3). In turn, Minnie literally strangles John with a rope in his sleep. The women don t always find this action morally or ethically right. Mrs. Peters, in the beginning, said But, Mrs. Hale, the law is the law (Glaspell 984). After finding out about the bird, and pondering the situation among themselves, the women all agree with Minnie Wright. It was justifiable homicide in their eyes, thus making it ethically and morally right in their eyes. Hurston s Sweat uses the snake as symbolism, and to justify Delia s actions after Sykes is bitten. In the story, Delia is a faithful Christian woman who is married to a devil like man named Sykes. Hurston associates the snake to Sykes. The snake symbolizes Sykes representation of the Devil. Sykes knows that Delia is scared of snakes. Delia tells Sykes, You know how skeered Ah is of snakes. Course Ah Knowed it (1). Sykes not only torments Delia, he also cheats on her openly. Sykes does ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. The Rise Of Democracy Throughout Europe Essay The Rise of Democracy in Europe The rise of democracy within Europe was vital to the importance of the individual, and was marked by a transition from the governing by one feudal lord, to the governing by an elected official. This transition brought change not only to humanistic thinking, but also enabled mankind to have basic human rights which improved life for the country s citizens. This shift of thinking to the rights of individuals was spurred by the Protestant Reformation and the creation of the social contract which enabled a perfect atmosphere for the rise of democracy within Europe. During the feudal system, military lords ruled the people with little regard for human rights. The people were used only as pawns for the wellbeing of the feudal system and were seen as such, but with the rise of an economy based on money instead of land, the feudal system began to rapidly decline. As the feudal system dwindled away, the individual rights of man increased with the rise of the market economy, which in turn propelled the spirit of democracy within the people (International Center for Peace and Development ). While money began to circulate within this new type of economy, the financial stability of the monarchs began to collapse, while the merchant class was becoming wealthy. This transition of wealth tore down the stronghold that had suppressed the population during the feudal system, and allowed the wealthy merchant power to become important political figures. ... • 10. The Diversity Of Soil Invertebrates Introduction: The diversity of soil invertebrates is very important to our ecosystem, because most soil invertebrates are responsible for key soil processes such as nutrient recycling, nutrient retention, formation of soil structure, and decomposition rates. Invertebrates are one of the most dominant groups of animals in the world. Recent studies show that animals may constitute as much as 23% of the total diversity of living organisms (Lavelle et al., 2006). Common soil invertebrates include arthropods and nematodes. These soil invertebrates provide major ecosystem services. For example, ants, dung beetles, ground beetles, earthworms, and slugs aid in seed dispersal, which is important because seed dispersal is known to affect food production and nutrient recycling as well as decomposition rates. Bees, butterflies, moths, and ants aid in pollination. These invertebrates are very important because about three fourths of all plants are pollinator dependent and insects tend to provide most of the animal pollination globally. Without pollinators plant species would be more susceptible to extinction. In agricultural systems, invertebrate pollinators are responsible for the successful production of vegetables and fruits that maintain livestock production. Nematodes, annelids, and arthropods aid in decomposition (Prather et al., 2012) Materials and Methods: The experiment began with the construction of a Berlese funnel, which is an apparatus used to extract ... • 11. Khrushchev Genuinely committed to peaceful coexistence In the years 1955 62, Khrushchev was genuinely committed to peaceful coexistence. Peaceful co ‐ existence is the idea that the two superpowers in the world, the USSR and the USA can accept each other s ideologies and consequentially their satellite states in the interests of peace, whether Khrushchev was entirely committed to this notion is debatable due to his behind the scenes actions between 1955 and 1962. The Austrian state treaty of 1955 seemed to show Khrushchev s commitment to peaceful coexistence, but his aggression after the U2 spy plane incident of 1960 and the gamble with peace over the Berlin wall in 1961 and Cuba in 1962 suggest his commitment to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This shows the imperialistic nature of the Soviet Union and not of truly peaceful cohabitation by clearly dividing the world on the wider Cold War basis by intrusive political and military intervention. It seems contradictory to the previous peaceful concessions made by the Soviet Union at the Geneva Summit and this shows how the Soviet Union were still trying to maintain an advantage over the Capitalist world rather than accepting a diplomatic change. This can be deduced as an attempt to build on Soviet power whilst also trying to repress American power through far less than peaceful methods. Furthermore tension was at it s highest following the military actions of the Soviet Union prior to the Cuban Missile in 1962. For example Khrushchev created a physical and metaphorical barrier that divided Eastern and West germany yet also divided the Capitalist and Communist worlds. This was evident with the erection of the Berlin Wall on 13th August 1961. This was done in order to prevent the massive emigration of East German ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Impersonations can mean the way someone talks, walks or acts. I personally find some accents to be hilarious and if someone imitates the accent, it will just crack me up., If its someone famous that everyone knows and if that person talks funny or walks funny, then it will cause other people to laugh because they know its true. In chemistry, there are eight different basic types of reactions. The eight basic reactions include: combustion, synthesis, decomposition, precipitation, single replacement, double replacement, acid/base, and redox reactions. These reactions are categorized into their reaction type by their differences and similarities. The first type of reaction is combustion. When a balloon with oxygen and hydrogen is supplied with heat by a candle, it triggers an explosive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another known name for this type of reaction is a displacement reaction. These type of solutions mostly occur in liquid solution and the amount of energy used in this type of reaction is smaller than that of a synthesis or decomposition reaction. In this type of reaction, in a compound, an element replaces a similar element. For example we have elements A, B, and X. In this equation we heave element A + compound BX. Element A will replace element B to form B + AX. (A + BX B + AX) Another reaction is a double replacement. This reaction usually produces an insoluble gas or water. Double replacement is when in two compounds, ions will exchange places in a liquid solution (aqueous solution) to form a new compound. For example A, B, X, and Y are ions in the first part of the equation, AX + BY. The ions X and Y will replace each other to form a new compound to form AY + BX. ( AX + BY AY + BY) A different type of reaction would be an acid/base reaction. This reaction is a neutralization. An acid is a substances that looses protons which are H+ ions and a base is a substance that receives protons. When equal amounts of protons are lost by an acid and the same amounts of protons are being received by a base, they neutralize each other. That creates a product that is neither acidic nor basic by the two substances (acid and a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Subject matter was drawn from nature and natural man (such as the supposedly untouched Native American). Perhaps one of the best examples of Romantic drama is Faust (Part I, 1808; Part II, 1832) by the German playwright Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Based on the classic legend of the man who sells his soul to the devil, this play of epic proportions depicts humankind s attempt to master all knowledge and power in its constant struggle with the universe. The Romantics focused on emotion rather than rationality, drew their examples from a study of the real world rather than the ideal, and glorified the idea of the artist as a mad genius unfettered by rules. Romanticism thus gave rise to a vast array of dramatic literature and production that was often undisciplined and that often substituted emotional manipulation for substantial ideas. Romanticism first appeared in Germany, a country with little native theatre other than rustic farces before the 18th century. By the 1820s Romanticism dominated the theatre of most of Europe. Many of the ideas and practices of Romanticism were evident in the late 18th century Sturm und Drang movement of Germany led by Goethe and the dramatist Friedrich Schiller. The Evolution of Hester s Suffering and the Forgiveness of Society In The Scarlet Letter, by Nathaniel Hawthorne, Hester Prynne is forced to wear a scarlet A on her chest, because of the sin, adultery, she committed. This letter separates Hester from the rest of the Puritans in the town, and causes her much loneliness and suffering. In the beginning of the book, the Puritans are disgusted by Hester, and shun her. As the book goes on, however, the townspeople slowly begin to let Hester into society, and use her as an example of how suffering and good deeds can lead to salvation. Hester s view of herself does not change, and it shows that society is not the only source of her suffering. Hester s suffering and lack of suffering from the town reflect on the nature of the Puritans, and reveal how even the strictest of societies can show compassion in certain circumstances. Gracile Features Introduction The more gracile features that denote a female typically include the smaller size or often nonexistence of certain features found on the skeleton including but not limited to the nuchal crest, mastoid process, and brow ridges. Also, the average height of a female is shorter than that of the average male. Due to this difference in skeletal structure, most of the bones in the female skeleton should in some form be sexually dimorphic. The trend of smaller features is of course excluding the pelvic girdle, on which most female features are larger and rounder due to the skeletal requirements of childbirth. Given the above statement, it is reasonable to predict that there would be a distinguishable difference between the metacarpal of a male and a female. Studies have proved that metacarpals are sexually dimorphic, and can be used to identify the sex of a skeleton in both Egyptian and Tai populations. Due to these past studies, it is logical to assume that the same sexually dimorphism can be found in the European population. I didn t want the spectator to be faced with an atmosphere of pain or illness. What I wanted to show was the everyday life of some people who live there.
