Analysis And Design Of Software
Structured Programming, Nassi Shneiderman Structure Charts, Formal Proofs of Correctness, and
Structured Analysis and Design are all tools to help with analysis and design of software. Each topic is
described briefly below with respect to software development and project management. At its core,
Structured Programming is a method to organize code. The intent of the rules laid out by the method is
to make code easier to read, understand, and maintain (3). Most software projects are large and written
by many programmers. Employing Structured Programming provides strict guidelines on coding
practices. These guidelines are designed to decrease development time, improve readability, and
increase maintainability. There are three components of structured programming: Control Structures,
Subroutines, and Blocks (13). Control Structures are further broken down into Sequences, Selections,
and Iterations. Sequences are lines of code that are executed in a specific order. Selections are only
executed when the program is in a certain state, and Iterations are loops that are executed until a
certain condition is met. Both Subroutines and Blocks are units of code that are executed together.
Blocks have specific syntax in order to group the lines of code together and are only present in some
languages. They are a way to group executable code in order to make sense to the reader and clearly
define sections and functionality of the code. The grouping is motivated by the flow of information

Stereotypes Of Poisoned People In Today s Society
Poisoned People In today s society, people do not realize the harm they do to one or another. Endless
amounts of people are being characterized negatively and sometimes positive nearly for the simplest
thing. Unfortunately, we live in a society that cherishes emotions of regret and envious, at times to a
higher degree than the one illustrated throughout the play. Moreover, it is known to have a bias
characteristic towards envying others and their accomplishments without one appreciating their own
accomplishments. Also, one tends to be negative within their own appearance, since the media focuses
on beauty instead of knowledge. Beauty instead of knowledge is like saying that one s indurate work

Bethany is showing a brainless thought when speaking about Carla s experiences. Since, she only sees
what is out of the shell but doesn t see what is happening within her emotions when she s going

that Bethany has the perks of being smart and being in decent relationships, meanwhile she is dealing

that one tends to be desirous when it comes to sex. In this case, Bethany is anxious to go in Carla s

Pros And Cons Of Drug Legalization
Pros and Cons of Drug Legalization With the onslaught of states slowly legalizing the
commercialization and use of marijuana after the passing of sanctioning initiatives led by Colorado
and Washington in 2012, societal attitudes have begun to support this movement in the
decriminalization of marijuana for personal use. Based on the 2014 midterms, momentum for this
change has been shown in different parts of the U.S., with states such as Oregon, Alaska, and
Washington D.C. joining this cause. It is safe to assume that several other states will soon follow suit,
with ballot initiatives set for 2016 in states such as: Massachusetts, California, Missouri, Hawaii,
Maine, Nevada, and Arizona (Becker, 2014). However, the long standing debate still stands, is this
change for the better? In a world with less restrictions on illegal drugs such as marijuana, would the
pros outweigh the cons? Although the answer may not be clear cut, considering the arguments made
by both the supporting side and the opposing side of marijuana legalization for public consumption
will help us create an opinion on what values should be taken priority on when it comes to the
consequences related to advocating this movement. Based on the arguments made from the
perspective of a supporter in marijuana legalization, complete legalization would bring an end to illicit
dealings on the streets, as there would be no reason for consumers to interact with shady sellers when
it s already offered commercially.

Corporate Marketing Is Responsible For Childrens ...
Corporate Marketing Is Responsible for Childrens Materialism Today, advertisements is an issue that
brainwashes the youth and drains the money from their parent s pockets. Jonathan Rowe, director of
the Tomales Bay Institute, and Gary Ruskin, executive director of Commercial Alert, published an
article called, Corporate Marketing Is Responsible for Childrens Materialism in 2006 through
Greenhaven Press. Both writers of the article explain the marketing industry in today s generation, and
influence their readers thinking about the horrendous outcomes it has on the youth. Rowe and Ruskin
s thesis states that advertisers are frequently able to avoid parents when promoting their merchandises
to the children. In result, corrupt marketers undermines the authority for parents, and conquers the
children s confidentiality. After the launch of televisions and the internet, there has been countless of
different types of advertisements. The markets advertisements tries to appeal to the youth that include
the ages of teens and even younger. Rowe and Ruskin used their article to argue that the government
and politicians should be more aware of the marketing these days, and how the marketing industry
influence the future. Within their article, there are copious examples and situations that they set out for
their readers to better understand their argument and reasons. Rowe and Ruskin effectively employs
the rhetorical appeals of logos, ethos, and pathos to establish

The Cardiovascular System Of The Heart And The Vasculature
The cardiovascular system is formed by the heart and the vasculature, a close system of vessels, which
include arteries, arterioles, capillaries, venules, veins and lymph vessels.
The heart is located in the mediastinum, about two thirds from the body midline. Three layers form the
heart. From the inside out: endocardium, myocardium and epicardium. The myocardium, the thickest
of all, is formed by striated muscle to provide the heart with the contractibility necessary to pump the
blood into the vasculature. (Martini, Nath, Bartholomew, 2008)
The myocardium contains the pacemaker cells that generate electrical impulses to create the heart s
movements. These impulses are triggered by action potentials in the pacemaker cells of the Sinoatrial
Node. These are then transmitted to the atria and to the AV node. (Hull Slegg, 2009)
The heart is divided into four chambers; the superior chambers (atria) receive blood and are connected
to the inferior chambers (ventricle), through the atrioventricular valves. Once in the ventricles, blood
is ejected to the vasculature through the semilunar valves. These valves, similar to the ones in the
veins, ensure the unidirectionality of blood flow.
As with the heart, endothelium provides the internal layer (tunica intima) for all the vasculature.
Apart from the capillaries and venules, which only consist of endothelium, the rest of the vasculature
is formed by three layers: tunica intima, tunica media, and tunica adventitia. (Marieb

The Little Albert Experiment
The Little Albert experiment has become a famous case study that has been discussed by a plethora of
professionals in the psychology industry. In 1920, behaviorist John Watson and his assistant Rosalie
Rayner began to conduct the first experiment that had been done with a child. Watson and Rayner
chose Albert because they thought he was stable; he was accustomed to a hospital environment due to
his mother s career as a wet nurse, he was healthy and showed little emotion. Stability played a major
factor in choosing Albert for this case study because Watson wanted to ensure that they would do as
little harm as possible with the experiment. The conditioning of Albert began with a series of
emotional tests that became part of a routine in which Watson and Rayner were determining whether
fear reactions could be called out by other stimuli than sharp noises and the sudden removal of support
( ). Watson s method of choice for this experiment was using principles of classic conditioning to
create a stimulus in children that would result in fear. Since Watson wanted to condition Albert, he
used a variety of objects that would otherwise not scare him. These objects included white rat, dog,
blocks, rabbit, fur coat, wool and a Santa Claus mask. To begin the experiment, Watson and his team
started off by questioning if a loud noise would cause a fear reaction. The sound of choice for this part
would be a hammer on a suspended steel bar. The first strike of the bar startled the

mafic rock, with predominance of mafic minerals pyroxenes, olivines and calcic plagioclase; these
rocks (example, basalt) are usually dark colored, but not always, and have a higher density than felsic
rocks. ultramafic rock, with more than 90% of mafic minerals (e.g., dunite)
Sedimentary rocks
Sedimentary rocks are classified by the source of their sediments, and are produced by one or more
processes that follow:
Sedimentary rocks
Clastic sedimentary rocks are composed of fragments of older rocks that have been deposited and
consolidated boulders greater than 25.6 cm cobbles 6.4 to 25.6 cm pebbles 2 mm to 6.4 cm sand 1/16
mm to 2 mm silt 1/256 mm to 1/16 mm clay less than 1/256 mm
Sedimentary rocks
Chemical sedimentary rocks form when minerals precipitate from a solution, usually sea water. Halite
and gypsum are examples of minerals that precipitate from aqueous solutions to form chemical
sedimentary rocks.
Biochemical sedimentary rocks are composed of accumulations of organic debris. Coal and some
limestones are examples of biological sedimentary rocks.
Metamorphic rocks
Metamorphic rocks are the result of the transformation of a pre existing rock type, the protolith, in a
process called metamorphism, which means change in

injection pressures, together with the amount of fuel injected during the pilot injection for different
operating conditions, on combustion development, engine emission levels and fuel consumption.

1. INTRODUCTION
Nowadays the internal combustion engines are spread to the extent that they represent the main cause
of pollutant production. Nevertheless, it is well known that the stocks of fuels traditionally used in this
kind of engines will be able to satisfy the world s needs for few more decades. This explains the
massive research activity, drawn all over the world, addressed to the utilization of innovative fuels and
injection concepts in order to either replace the traditional ones or obtain a more efficient and clean
combustion. Compared to diesel engines, characterized by a high efficiency but at the same time high
levels of articulate, and to premixed charge gasoline engines, characterized by a low efficiency
because of knock limitations and pumping losses, lean burn engines can reach a higher efficiency
thanks to lower pumping losses and heat transfer. On the contrary, lean mixtures generally imply
higher levels of both total unburned hydrocarbons (THC) and carbon monoxide. Nevertheless, mixing
the fuel with an increasing quantity of air, flame instability, sometimes leading to misfiring, is
observed.

The New Negro, By Alain Locke
Throughout Alain Locke s works Values and Imperatives, Pluralism and Intellectual Democracy,
Cultural Relativism and Ideological Peace, The New Negro, and Harlem, I found there to be a number
of reoccurring themes, such as absolutes, imperatives, values, and relativism and their place in
pluralism. I am going to be focusing on all the aforementioned themes and showing how they are all
intertwined into the principles of pluralism. What is an absolute? In Values and Imperatives, Locke
defines them briefly as imperatives of action and as norms of preference and choice. With the use of
that definition comes the question of what an imperative is. In the preface of this piece, the editor
writes that when Locke is referring to imperatives, he means compelling rules, guidelines, and actions.
Our imperatives function as authoritative guidelines. A value, according to Locke, is an emotionally
mediated form of experience, so judgments of value are essentially emotional judgments. For me, this
is somewhat reminiscent of Emerson and his view on experience and values; a man does not
consciously do something without having a belief or value behind it. Locke also goes on to later say in
the same work that values are rooted in attitudes, not in reality, and pertain to ourselves, not to the
world. The editor also writes that when Locke is referring to values, he generally means feelings,
attitudes, beliefs, preferences, attenuations for moral principles, aesthetic

Summer Camp Essay
When parents talk about sending their child to summer camp, some people assume that the reason
behind this is to get a break from the child, and furthermore, those people believe that summer camp
has no impact on the child whatsoever. The majority of people who attended summer camp would not
agree. Summer camp allows children to thrive in a safe environment. Camp teaches children valuable
life skills. As someone who has attended summer camp since a young age, I can say with confidence
that summer camp helps a child develop into an independent and confident young adult.

Camp counselors take jobs seriously and should be trusted. Each staff member goes through vigorous
training to ensure the safety of every camper. Beyond taking care of the campers physical need,
counselors help the campers to achieve each child s unique level of responsibility, whether that is
tying their shoe, or conquering a fear. At summer camp, children become exposed to independence.
This exposure allows children to develop more confidence in themselves. Acceptance is an essential
element of camp. Counselors work hard to make sure every child is being included in activities.
Summer camp is a place where children can be themselves. As a result, campers form unbreakable
bonds with their cabinmates. This summer, I had a cabin of nine girls, ages eleven and twelve. Seven
of those girls came from the same school but had never interacted with each other. By the end of the
week, not only did those girls conclude that they should be friends during the school year, but they
also arranged to see the other two girls next summer. Another approach for campers to obtain
confidence is the opportunity for them to go outside their comfort zone. When a camper accomplishes
something that they didn t think they could do, that gives them a sense of confidence in themselves.
People may argue that this sense of accomplishment can be achieved

What do Devil worship, Voodoo dolls, black magic, and witchdoctors have in common? Voodoo is
one of the most misunderstood religions; in fact, none of the aforementioned are in any way practiced
by Voodooists. In reality, Voodoo is a melting pot of religions such as Catholicism and African
religions such as Yoruba and Fon. The religion of Vodun, also known as Voodoo, is on of the world s
oldest religions and has gone through many changes in because of European exploration into Africa,
the African slave trade, and American culture. The influences have led to the creation of different

Modern Voodoo in New Orleans departs the most from original Voodoo traditions of the 18th and 19th
century and is now more of a Voodoo revival than anything else. By the 20th century traditional
Voodoo scarcely remained in New Orleans other than with older black New Orleanians (Long 96).
American Voodoo is similar to that of Cuban and Haitian Voodoo because most of the practitioners are
Catholic. It differs, however, in some of it terms. For example in New Orleans Voodoo they refer to
their supreme God as Iwa not Oldumare. American, more specifically New Orleans, culture has not
only affected Voodoo traditions, but drastically changed the world s perspective on it. People such as
Marie Laveau and her daughter influenced the growth of Voodoo in New Orleans. While Marie
Laveau was a traditional practitioner of Voodoo, her daughter Marie Laveau II focused more on
theatrics of Voodoo ceremonies and had large gatherings and became a prominent figure of her time.
She included Catholic figures in her ceremonies by continuing the Haitian tradition of mixing Catholic
saints with African spirits. Though she spread Voodoo, Marie also had a negative affect on Voodoo
perspective because she sold alcohol and ran a brothel. These negative aspects were intensified
because of superstition and Voodoo eventually was seen as an evil religion that worships the devil
come from. It was during Voodoo New Orleanian beginnings in which the superstitions of the voodoo
doll, black magic, and devil worship were created. None of which were in fact true about Voodoo, but
as these views became more widespread Voodoo became more of entertainment than religion in New
Orleans. Since the 1960 s people have been using Voodoo misconceptions to make money which is
why there are so many tourist shops in New Orleans that sell Voodoo dolls and other crafts and make

Henry Charles Bukowski writing was influenced by the social, cultural, and economic ambience of
Los Angeles. He left home after his father read some of his stories and went berserk, destroying his
output and throwing his possessions out onto the lawn, a lawn that the young Bukowski had to mow

This allows the reader to slow down and not to speed up like people usually do in poems that rhyme.
When you read his poem it almost makes you want to slow down and read it in a calm voice, to make
you think about each and every word he wrote. The metaphors he uses are significant because they
convey a certain theme and make it clear as to what he is talking about. The metaphor makes the mood
more understandable, because people debate that you should give second chances but he is saying he
rather leave the past untouched. Hence the purpose for this line, I refuse to let any of my old movies
play over and over again for years. The metaphor makes his tone sound assertive and sure of all the
decisions he has made. For example this line let s people know that he is not like others because of the
metaphor and his choice for punctuation marks I know some people who can watch the same movie
more than once. Not me. I selected this poet out of the thousands even millions of poets there are
because I felt like he was the most realist. Bukowski wrote on about what was going on in the world
which he lived in like no other. He wrote about portrayal of life in general and Los Angeles in
particular, his usually self referential, often angry poetry and prose typically depicts alcoholics, drug

Anne Frank Essay
Introduction:
Have you ever had a hard time in your life? The Holocaust was a very tough time for the Jews, they
were forced to either find a place to stay or they would get sent off to concentration camp, which was
leading to their last breath. Anne Frank and her family, had to stay in an annex to try to stay away
from the Nazi s because they were Jewish. They had to be really quiet during the day or they would be
heard from down below. However, there is one special girl that handled it very well. Anne Frank once
said, In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart. Throughout all the obstacles
that Anne and her family have faced, she is always looking for the good in people. After reading the
diary, I have come to a decision. Anne s quote really said a lot about her and others around her. I am
agreeing with Anne s powerful quote. The others that were in hiding with Anne really had to persevere
and help each other out. When I read the diary I saw that the most caring person was Miep. She
always helped them when they needed something outside of the annex, but I can still see how people
think that people during those days were not very good at heart. I think Mr Van Daan seemed a little
rude and selfish about others.
My Side:
After I saw many acts of kindness, throughout the play, based off of Anne s diary, I was persuaded to
agree with her quote that everyone is good at heart. The character that stood out the most to me was
Miep. She showed me at the beginning of the book when they all moved into the annex. On page 8,
the dialogue goes on to say,
Narrator: (indicating the sink cupboard)
Miep: We put the stores of food you sent in here.
Narrator:( She crosses to the shelves.)
Miep: Your drugs are here soap, linen, here.
Mrs. Frank: Thank you, Miep.
Miep: I made up the beds the way Mr Frank and Mr Kraler said. Forgive me. I have to hurry. I ve got
to go to the other side of town to get some ration books for you.
During this scene, the Franks and the Van Daans had just moved into hiding and were trying to settled
in quickly. They knew that they were lacking on the materials that they needed. Mr Frank thought
about his workers that weren t Jewish, then he said Miep. Miep was

Global Supply Chain
Abstract
The supply chain is a concept resulting from multiple independent entities that affect each other. This
paper will discuss about Wal Mart supply chain it will provide the six component, problems and
approaches to solve the problems. Wal Mart is one of the major retail in the world (Walmart 2011).
Wal Mart is continuously developing its business by developing its services and product portfolio. The
supply chain of Wal Mart is also effective to enhance its effectiveness within the industry
(Hoppenstedt Rathkolb 2005).
Introduction
Wal Mart is the largest multinational company in the retail industry (Cullen and Parboteeah, 2008).
Wal Mart retail store was started by Mr. Sam Walton in 1945. Mr. Walton began his career as J. ...

Wal Mart emphasizes on customer demands and determination of customer s satisfaction in
determining places for its stores. Identification of customer demand helps to determine the locations
for store and production facilities close to the consumers (Wal Mart 2011). The selection of
inappropriate locations in other region without considering income level and living standard of the
customers may create problem for Wal Mart in location selection. The analysis of macro and micro
environment before selecting location would be effective to increase the supply chain management of
the organization (Lambert 2008).
Transportation:
Transportation is intimately related to inventory decisions and also with the customer requirements
(Bolstorff Rosenbaum 2007). Wal Mart uses stores to offer its products to the customers and by its
own trucks for delivery (Wal Mart 2011). The use of store and its own truck for transportation may
create problem as strike by the employees may affect the delivery of its goods to the customers that
would affect its market share and customer base. To eliminate this problem, management of Wal Mart
could make arrangement with external transportation companies that will be used in the situation of
strike (Bolstorff Rosenbaum 2007).
Information:
Information is an important component of the supply chain of an organization as it includes collection
of information from end users and to link them with resources

Influence Of John Locke s Second Treatise On Government
Political organization is the framework for a government s operation. It is generally highly varied
between different governments, but often takes one of several standard forms, which tend to be
categorized as tending toward democratic or an authoritarian. However, whatever its structure may be,
a government must have political legitimacy in order to function and maintain a monopoly over its
subjects and affairs. Government is perceived to be legitimate by those it rules when its political
organization operates unequivocally within certain parameters deemed appropriate by its subjects, and
when punishment and law is executed equitably. Given that the parameters for government affairs are
based on public perception, which is built off of societal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Contemporary scholars have built off John Locke s ideas on legitimacy to conclude several factors
that weigh into whether or not the people perceive government as legitimate, such as whether or not
the state s actions can be morally defended. In plain terms, the people must view having the
government as a preferable alternative to not having the government. There is no consent if the people
resent the government s existence or feel that the government s existence is unjustified. Another
important factor of legitimacy is the extent to which the people feel obligated to obey government
edict without coercive measures. If the people do not feel obligated to follow the state s commands,
the government then obviously lacks legitimacy. Any obligation a state s subjects feel stems from the
government s justifiability and moral defensibility. These two factors must be strong enough to
compel the subjects into following government order instead of following alternative pursuits to
accomplish individual goals. Legitimate government actually has this ability, while illegitimate
authority merely purports it. However, even legitimate governments have parameters that limit what
the state may ask of its subjects. These parameters are derived from the subjects, based on what they
feel is appropriate for the government to do and what they will allow the government to do without

Different Sociological Explanations Of Suicide
Using material from Item A and elsewhere, assess different sociological explanations of suicide. (21
marks)
Suicide is the intentional taking of one s own life and sociologists over the years have tried to put
forward various explanations for why someone may do this. Within sociology there are many different
views on suicide on the causes and explanations for it, these come from two main methodologies
which are Positivists who believe that sociology is a science and they should aim to make causal laws
on suicide rates, compared to Interpretivists who believe that they should look for meaning behind
occurrences and certain individuals experiences before the suicide. Other perspectives also put in their
views on what they believe to explain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Obviously this was highly criticised by Structural Functionalists such as Durkheim who believed that
Douglas work was too unscientific and that he incorrectly assumed that the nature of man is active
rather than passive.
Another sociologist who takes an Interpretivist methodology is Atkinson, believing that social
meaning and context is more important in finding root causes. However unlike Douglas, Atkinson is a
Ethnomethodologist which has a central belief of showing that each individual use their own members
methods to work out what they see. This is why Atkinson decided to study suicide, also to show how
official statistics are not enough. Atkinson focused on a Coroner s report and underwent participant
observation at an office to see what methods they used to decide whether a death was suicide or not.
Atkinson stated that they used common sense theories of suicide so if certain information were to fit
the theories it would be called a suicide. They would look at clues to help decided, Atkinson named a
few to which he believed was important within their decisions. Firstly was there a suicide note left,
this clearly is a big clue to whether or not the individual meant to kill themselves. Secondly how did
the individual die as certain ways such as hanging point towards suicide, also the location of the body,
usually if it is hidden away out of sight then the person is indicating that they did

Christ’s Resurrection Foretold and Witnessed
I suppose, since I became a Christian (born again July 31, 1975), I have heard a lot of different
opinions concerning different areas and events of the Bible. Of all the topics and points of interest,
none has intrigued me as much as the Death, Burial, and Resurrection of my Lord and Savior, Jesus
Christ. As you read this study there is one main point that all Christians will agree on. It may not be
the day of the week or the hour of the day Jesus died, but we will all agree to the fact that Jesus did
arise from the dead and is currently at the right hand of God the Father. You might be a religious
person, yet not believe Jesus arose from the dead. That belief would not negate you from being

It shall be a Sabbath of Rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a statute for ever.
Just as the tenth day of the seventh month comes on different days of the week, and the tenth day is
known as Sabbath, it stands to reason that there isn t just one Sabbath in every week. Just as the
seventh month and tenth day is to be the day of atonement, (a Sabbath of Rest) and it may fall on
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or whatever day of the week, there is still a seventh day of the week
(Saturday) Sabbath in that same week.
It was such a Holy day, a Sabbath day, approaching when Jesus was crucified. (John 19:31, KJV). The
Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies shall not remain upon the cross on the
Sabbath day, (for that Sabbath day was a high day), besought Pilate that their legs might be broken,
and that they might be taken away. (KJV). Therefore it stands to reason there were two Sabbath s in
the week of crucifixion: 1) the high day Sabbath, 2) the seventh day of the week, Saturday. With this
in mind, it would be very possible for Jesus to have been Crucified prior to the beginning of

Reflection About Geography
Every other year, my high school offers a College in the Schools (CIS) geography course. In this
course, there is one assignment that all the upperclassmen would always complain about. As an
underclassman, I had dreaded the year that I was going to be receiving this assignment due to having a
tendency to save my projects for last minute. I will never forget the map that taught me that
procrastination makes the process of completing assignments more difficult, especially on a project
that is for a college class.
In the beginning of November 2016, my junior year, our college geography class received our quarter
project: a map of the world. Our teacher, Mr.Sharstrom, assigned our class a large number of physical
features that our maps needed to include such as rivers, lakes, islands, mountain ranges, seas, oceans,
and deserts. Mr.Sharstrom required us to include all seven continents and a key that showed
distinctions in the different physical features of the world. The maps needed to be to scale and show a
minimum amount of distortion as possible. When we received our project, our geography teacher
warned us, This project will be time consuming and you will not want to wait until the week before to
start your maps.
After communicating expectations with the class, a majority of my classmates began to work on their
maps. I knew that my family was traveling to Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, for Thanksgiving break, so
I wanted to attempt to complete as much of the map as possible

Foreshadowing In Back To The Future
In the 1985 movie Back to the Future, Robert Zemeckis uses foreshadowing, symbolism, diegetic and
non diegetic sound, parallels, irony and morals, as explained through the textbook The Art of
Watching Films, to take the viewer on a journey through time. He reinforces the idea that every little
action counts. These concepts are intermixed with comedy as we witness the adventures of Marty
McFly (Michael J. Fox) and his best friend Doctor Emmet Brown (Christopher Lloyd) in 1985 and
1955. We meet Marty s parents (Crispin Glover, Lea Thompson) first as adults, then as teenagers, and
again as adults. Marty also grows to realize the consequences of his actions.
With a concept as difficult as time travel, without the overt use of captions, how can you convey that
you re in a different point in time? Zemeckis tackled this issue deftly through his use of dialogue,
props, and set design. In the opening period in 1985 he sets the tone of where you are and what
defines the present or normal so that when everything changes after Marty steps inside the DeLorean,
Zemeckis doesn t need to use a caption announcing the year 1955. The viewer is able to easily ...

Your heart muscle mass requires oxygen to make it through. A cardiac arrest occurs when the blood
circulation that brings oxygen to the heart muscle mass is significantly reduced or removed entirely
(View an animation of blood circulation). Due to the fact that coronary arteries that supply the heart
muscular tissue with blood flow could gradually end up being narrow from a build up of fat,
cholesterol as well as other elements that with each other are called cavity enducing plaque, this
occurs. This sluggish procedure is referred to as atherosclerosis. When a plaque in a heart artery
breaks, a blood clot forms around the oral plaque buildup. This blood clot can obstruct the blood flow
via the heart muscular tissue. When the heart muscle is starved for oxygen and nutrients, it is called
ischemia. When harm or fatality of part of the heart muscle takes place as a result of ischemia, it is

King Hezekiah Essay
As a one reads through the Old Testament, he will find the story as it unfolds of the children of Israel.
Beginning in the book of Exodus the children of Israel are in Egyptian bondage and being forced to
work as slaves. God appears to Moses in a burning bush and tells him that He [God] has heard His
people and He is going to deliver them out of bondage. God at that time tells Moses that He has
chosen him to be the leader of this people. After God brings ten plagues against Egypt the children of
Israel are driven out of the land, and God promises to lead them to a land flowing with milk and

achieved the height of faith that they had before. The end of the book of Judges sums up Israel as a
whole, here the writer says, In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in
his own eyes (Judges 21:25). After this the children of Israel desired to have a king so that they would
be like everyone else. Samuel the prophet went to the Lord in prayer and was told to give them what
they wanted. During this time the Nation of Israel was still united and during the time they were
united there were three different kings Saul, David, and Solomon. Solomon was the last king to reign
during the time of the United Kingdom. However, since he chose to not follow in the footsteps of his
father David the kingdom was divided after his death. The northern kingdom came under the rule of
Jeroboam and the southern came under the rule of Rehoboam, the son of Solomon. This would begin a
period of time in which there would be many kings that ruled over the southern and northern
kingdoms. The northern kingdom would have nineteen kings during its history and all of them were

Standardized Testing Argument
A Standardized test is a form of test that all students across the nation take at one point. These tests are
federally mandated, timed, and designed to measure students performance in basic subjects. All
students receive the same questions on the test so it s supposed to be multiple choice questions that fits
all students. Standardized testing does not measure the knowledge of students, although many schools
require students take them.
One of the main reasons schools claim to use standardized testing is to compare performance levels of
different students in different locations around the nation, but this is an unreliable way to do so.
According to many studies, such tests decrease student motivation and increase their stress and
anxiety. Far too much emphasis is put into standardized tests to the point where teachers are teaching
to the test rather than making sure real learning is taking place. Students aren t learning everything
that is part of their curriculum. Too much focus is directed to ... Show more content on

standardized testing is a good after all. Though they do make a fair point, we can t overlook the fact
there are too many factors that play a role in the testing which can likely result in unreliable and
inaccurate outcomes. Ultimately, students are capable of different and amazing things, therefore their

question, Is it fair to deprive kids of a home because their parents would be gay or lesbian? is no it is
not fair at all, and the answer to the last question is we cannot be sure because every child is different,

The rate of straight couples getting a divorce is at two percent, but the rate for lesbian couples is 1.6
percent and the rate for gay couples is even lower at 1.1 percent. This is good because that means that
a child who is adopted by a gay or lesbian couple is probably going to have a more emotionally secure
home, and their parents will probably stay together. Another reason that Gay and Lesbian couples
should be allowed to adopt is because there aren t many people willing to adopt children, so any good
people no matter what their sexuality is should be allowed to adopt. These children could go into the
foster system, but adopting is much better, and it can be safer. Same sex couples have to plan to want

Quality In Healthcare

The most important measure of success in any kind of organization is quality. Quality is extremely
crucial in all organizations whether it is within healthcare or not because, it is a symbol that is
representing the main image of an organization. A quality of an organization is based on the facts that
they are always remarkably meeting the expectations of their customers, if not even doing more. It
also means that such organization is always striving to find the unsatisfied areas of the customers in
which to improve. When every organization ensures that it is producing quality products or services,

Over fifty years ago, a Texan named John Howard Griffin decided to start a revolutionary experiment
to change the color of his skin and experience racism in the South firsthand. While considered
extremely controversial at the time, the arguments and teachings of Griffin in his book, Black Like
Me, are still scrutinized and discussed today. The book has continued to enlighten readers to the
oppressive, violent racism in America, and aided them in realizing that racism, while it may be hidden,
is still prevalent today. It has encouraged a new generation to work towards equality, while warning
about the dangers of supremacy, to progressively improve society for all. Readers are exposed to the

While it may be harmless, it still exists today. The idea that someone is different will subconsciously
make one act different, as Banaji experiences (Vedantam). Griffin too experiences this, when he is
hitchhiking and white males are offering him rides; he is astounded that they would ask such
provoking and private questions about his personal life. Griffin realizes that they would not ask the
same questions to a white man for the fear of being rude, but when talking to a black man, they see
them as subhuman (Griffin 86). Many would believe it is not a racist act, as the white men are helping
them and they are not harming them. However, by treating them so rudely and cruelly, while it may be
unconsciously, they are affecting them psychologically, which is possible to do in many ways.
As society has progressed towards non violence, racism has changed into a different form, with
harsher psychological effects. A main cause of this psychological effect of racism is the stereotyping
that society has accepted as normal (Anderson). Although it may be unintentional, it is easy to deny
stereotyping exists, but difficult to prove that it does not exist. As Griffin recounts, white society had
everything sewed up. If you didn t...say yes, you were in deep trouble. If you did, then you allowed

The Ideas, Meanings, And Power Dynamics
The ideas, meanings, and power dynamics in the three books we read are very different, however
some similarities are present. As far as veiling, the meanings within each book are primarily
complimentary. When looking at the views on how certain affairs, such as veiling, should be enforced
and interacted with, we see more skewed ideas. In general, all three show hegemonic qualities, yet
Young and Defiant in Tehran reveals more dominating than hegemonic qualities. Veiling is an
extremely debated and controversial topic all over the world. From what has been revealed, it can be
presumed that a substantial difference of veiling across the board, is enforcement. From Veiled
Sentiments to Young and Defiant in Tehran, the differences in ideas regarding veiling are noticeably
contrasting. The three anthropology texts involved, include further inside information and feelings
regarding veiling. In Veiled Sentiments by Lila Abu Lughod, veiling is a choice and is not forced on
women. Due to the faith and freedom of choice, most women willingly and happily veil properly.
Although sexuality is not a popular norm among the Bedouin, it is not the sole reason for veiling.

The Modernization Of The United States
Understandably, significant historical debate flourishes around any relative or ambiguous terminology;
therefore, it should be of no surprise the topic of the modernization of the United States garners little
consensus. While some historians see elements of modernity in the widespread political participation
of the initial decades of colonial settlement, others focus on the economic and demographic diversity
of the eighteenth century as their focal point. Contrasting historians insist the American Revolution
became the catalyst for permanent change, while still more contend westward expansion and the
conclusion of the Civil War mark the time of the United States arrival. The innate relativism of
modernity insures from the outset of debate that no one will be right, and that no one can be wrong.
One historian s vision of modern will inherently be distinct from the next. However, as futile as the
debate over the beginnings of modernity may be, readers can still gain much from such research.

He married Louisa Frederici in St. Louis, Missouri on March 6, 1866. They were married for 78 years
between (1843 1904). During these 78 years they had 4 kids together: Arta Lucille (1866 1904), Kit
Carson (1870 1876), Orra Maude (1872 1883), and Irma Louise (1883 1918). Only one of Cody s
children would survive him. In 1904 Cody sued Louisa for divorce claiming she had attempted to
poison him. When Buffalo Bill was 8 years old he moved to kansas with his family. Since the
Homestead act was in full effect his family wanted to move to get land and have a better life. When he
was 12 years old he was working for a wagon train headed to Fort Laramie, Wyoming; the next year,
he participated in the gold rush to Colorado; and at 15, he reportedly rode for the Pony Express. He
also was part of the Civil War but only a little bit towards the end. Buffalo Bill opened his own wild
west show when he was 37 years old. At age 11 his father died and because of this as a young boy his

  • 2. Analysis And Design Of Software Structured Programming, Nassi Shneiderman Structure Charts, Formal Proofs of Correctness, and Structured Analysis and Design are all tools to help with analysis and design of software. Each topic is described briefly below with respect to software development and project management. At its core, Structured Programming is a method to organize code. The intent of the rules laid out by the method is to make code easier to read, understand, and maintain (3). Most software projects are large and written by many programmers. Employing Structured Programming provides strict guidelines on coding practices. These guidelines are designed to decrease development time, improve readability, and increase maintainability. There are three components of structured programming: Control Structures, Subroutines, and Blocks (13). Control Structures are further broken down into Sequences, Selections, and Iterations. Sequences are lines of code that are executed in a specific order. Selections are only executed when the program is in a certain state, and Iterations are loops that are executed until a certain condition is met. Both Subroutines and Blocks are units of code that are executed together. Blocks have specific syntax in order to group the lines of code together and are only present in some languages. They are a way to group executable code in order to make sense to the reader and clearly define sections and functionality of the code. The grouping is motivated by the flow of information ... • 3. Stereotypes Of Poisoned People In Today s Society Poisoned People In today s society, people do not realize the harm they do to one or another. Endless amounts of people are being characterized negatively and sometimes positive nearly for the simplest thing. Unfortunately, we live in a society that cherishes emotions of regret and envious, at times to a higher degree than the one illustrated throughout the play. Moreover, it is known to have a bias characteristic towards envying others and their accomplishments without one appreciating their own accomplishments. Also, one tends to be negative within their own appearance, since the media focuses on beauty instead of knowledge. Beauty instead of knowledge is like saying that one s indurate work to be someone in life doesn t matter as much ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So?! We re talking beauty here. Don t say So? Beauty is the real deal. You are the center of any moment of your life. People stare. Men flock. I ve seen you get offered discounts on makeup for no reason. Parents treat beautiful children better. Studies show your income goes up... (1038) CARLA. ... I have no privacy. I get hassled on the street. They start pressuring me from the beginning. Half the time, it never occurs to them to start with a conversation. Smart guys like you... I m surrounded by male bimbos who think a preposition is when you go to school away from home. I have no woman friends except you. I don t even want to talk about this! (1038) Bethany is showing a brainless thought when speaking about Carla s experiences. Since, she only sees what is out of the shell but doesn t see what is happening within her emotions when she s going through those experiences. Surely, Carla is trying to put herself in Bethany s point of view and sees that Bethany has the perks of being smart and being in decent relationships, meanwhile she is dealing with men that are imbecile. The element shown upon this textual evidence is sexual jealousy. Meaning that one tends to be desirous when it comes to sex. In this case, Bethany is anxious to go in Carla s shoes and do the things that she wishes to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Pros And Cons Of Drug Legalization Pros and Cons of Drug Legalization With the onslaught of states slowly legalizing the commercialization and use of marijuana after the passing of sanctioning initiatives led by Colorado and Washington in 2012, societal attitudes have begun to support this movement in the decriminalization of marijuana for personal use. Based on the 2014 midterms, momentum for this change has been shown in different parts of the U.S., with states such as Oregon, Alaska, and Washington D.C. joining this cause. It is safe to assume that several other states will soon follow suit, with ballot initiatives set for 2016 in states such as: Massachusetts, California, Missouri, Hawaii, Maine, Nevada, and Arizona (Becker, 2014). However, the long standing debate still stands, is this change for the better? In a world with less restrictions on illegal drugs such as marijuana, would the pros outweigh the cons? Although the answer may not be clear cut, considering the arguments made by both the supporting side and the opposing side of marijuana legalization for public consumption will help us create an opinion on what values should be taken priority on when it comes to the consequences related to advocating this movement. Based on the arguments made from the perspective of a supporter in marijuana legalization, complete legalization would bring an end to illicit dealings on the streets, as there would be no reason for consumers to interact with shady sellers when it s already offered commercially. ... Corporate Marketing Is Responsible for Childrens Materialism Today, advertisements is an issue that brainwashes the youth and drains the money from their parent s pockets. Jonathan Rowe, director of the Tomales Bay Institute, and Gary Ruskin, executive director of Commercial Alert, published an article called, Corporate Marketing Is Responsible for Childrens Materialism in 2006 through Greenhaven Press. Both writers of the article explain the marketing industry in today s generation, and influence their readers thinking about the horrendous outcomes it has on the youth. Rowe and Ruskin s thesis states that advertisers are frequently able to avoid parents when promoting their merchandises to the children. In result, corrupt marketers undermines the authority for parents, and conquers the children s confidentiality. After the launch of televisions and the internet, there has been countless of different types of advertisements. The markets advertisements tries to appeal to the youth that include the ages of teens and even younger. • 7. The Cardiovascular System Of The Heart And The Vasculature The cardiovascular system is formed by the heart and the vasculature, a close system of vessels, which include arteries, arterioles, capillaries, venules, veins and lymph vessels. The heart is located in the mediastinum, about two thirds from the body midline. Three layers form the heart. From the inside out: endocardium, myocardium and epicardium. The myocardium, the thickest of all, is formed by striated muscle to provide the heart with the contractibility necessary to pump the blood into the vasculature. (Martini, Nath, Bartholomew, 2008) The myocardium contains the pacemaker cells that generate electrical impulses to create the heart s movements. These impulses are triggered by action potentials in the pacemaker cells of the Sinoatrial Node. These are then transmitted to the atria and to the AV node. (Hull Slegg, 2009) The heart is divided into four chambers; the superior chambers (atria) receive blood and are connected to the inferior chambers (ventricle), through the atrioventricular valves. Once in the ventricles, blood is ejected to the vasculature through the semilunar valves. These valves, similar to the ones in the veins, ensure the unidirectionality of blood flow. As with the heart, endothelium provides the internal layer (tunica intima) for all the vasculature. Apart from the capillaries and venules, which only consist of endothelium, the rest of the vasculature is formed by three layers: tunica intima, tunica media, and tunica adventitia. (Marieb ... • 8. The Little Albert Experiment The Little Albert experiment has become a famous case study that has been discussed by a plethora of professionals in the psychology industry. In 1920, behaviorist John Watson and his assistant Rosalie Rayner began to conduct the first experiment that had been done with a child. Watson and Rayner chose Albert because they thought he was stable; he was accustomed to a hospital environment due to his mother s career as a wet nurse, he was healthy and showed little emotion. Stability played a major factor in choosing Albert for this case study because Watson wanted to ensure that they would do as little harm as possible with the experiment. The conditioning of Albert began with a series of emotional tests that became part of a routine in which Watson and Rayner were determining whether fear reactions could be called out by other stimuli than sharp noises and the sudden removal of support ( ). Watson s method of choice for this experiment was using principles of classic conditioning to create a stimulus in children that would result in fear. Since Watson wanted to condition Albert, he used a variety of objects that would otherwise not scare him. These objects included white rat, dog, blocks, rabbit, fur coat, wool and a Santa Claus mask. To begin the experiment, Watson and his team started off by questioning if a loud noise would cause a fear reaction. The sound of choice for this part would be a hammer on a suspended steel bar. The seminar focuses on the study of the effect of compressed natural gas (CNG) and diesel fuel injection pressures, together with the amount of fuel injected during the pilot injection for different operating conditions, on combustion development, engine emission levels and fuel consumption. 1 1. INTRODUCTION Nowadays the internal combustion engines are spread to the extent that they represent the main cause of pollutant production. Nevertheless, it is well known that the stocks of fuels traditionally used in this kind of engines will be able to satisfy the world s needs for few more decades. This explains the massive research activity, drawn all over the world, addressed to the utilization of innovative fuels and injection concepts in order to either replace the traditional ones or obtain a more efficient and clean combustion. Compared to diesel engines, characterized by a high efficiency but at the same time high levels of articulate, and to premixed charge gasoline engines, characterized by a low efficiency because of knock limitations and pumping losses, lean burn engines can reach a higher efficiency thanks to lower pumping losses and heat transfer. On the contrary, lean mixtures generally imply higher levels of both total unburned hydrocarbons (THC) and carbon monoxide. Nevertheless, mixing the fuel with an increasing quantity of air, flame instability, sometimes leading to misfiring, is observed.

The New Negro, By Alain Locke Throughout Alain Locke s works Values and Imperatives, Pluralism and Intellectual Democracy, Cultural Relativism and Ideological Peace, The New Negro, and Harlem, I found there to be a number of reoccurring themes, such as absolutes, imperatives, values, and relativism and their place in pluralism. I am going to be focusing on all the aforementioned themes and showing how they are all intertwined into the principles of pluralism. What is an absolute? In Values and Imperatives, Locke defines them briefly as imperatives of action and as norms of preference and choice. With the use of that definition comes the question of what an imperative is. In the preface of this piece, the editor writes that when Locke is referring to imperatives, he means compelling rules, guidelines, and actions. Our imperatives function as authoritative guidelines. A value, according to Locke, is an emotionally mediated form of experience, so judgments of value are essentially emotional judgments. For me, this is somewhat reminiscent of Emerson and his view on experience and values; a man does not consciously do something without having a belief or value behind it. Locke also goes on to later say in the same work that values are rooted in attitudes, not in reality, and pertain to ourselves, not to the world. The editor also writes that when Locke is referring to values, he generally means feelings, attitudes, beliefs, preferences, attenuations for moral principles, aesthetic ... At summer camp, children become exposed to independence. This exposure allows children to develop more confidence in themselves. Acceptance is an essential element of camp. Counselors work hard to make sure every child is being included in activities. Summer camp is a place where children can be themselves. As a result, campers form unbreakable bonds with their cabinmates. This summer, I had a cabin of nine girls, ages eleven and twelve. For example in New Orleans Voodoo they refer to their supreme God as Iwa not Oldumare. American, more specifically New Orleans, culture has not only affected Voodoo traditions, but drastically changed the world s perspective on it. People such as Marie Laveau and her daughter influenced the growth of Voodoo in New Orleans. She included Catholic figures in her ceremonies by continuing the Haitian tradition of mixing Catholic saints with African spirits. Though she spread Voodoo, Marie also had a negative affect on Voodoo perspective because she sold alcohol and ran a brothel. It is generally highly varied between different governments, but often takes one of several standard forms, which tend to be categorized as tending toward democratic or an authoritarian. However, whatever its structure may be, a government must have political legitimacy in order to function and maintain a monopoly over its subjects and affairs. Government is perceived to be legitimate by those it rules when its political organization operates unequivocally within certain parameters deemed appropriate by its subjects, and when punishment and law is executed equitably. Contemporary scholars have built off John Locke s ideas on legitimacy to conclude several factors that weigh into whether or not the people perceive government as legitimate, such as whether or not the state s actions can be morally defended. In plain terms, the people must view having the government as a preferable alternative to not having the government. There is no consent if the people resent the government s existence or feel that the government s existence is unjustified. Another important factor of legitimacy is the extent to which the people feel obligated to obey government edict without coercive measures. If the people do not feel obligated to follow the state s commands, the government then obviously lacks legitimacy. Any obligation a state s subjects feel stems from the government s justifiability and moral defensibility. These two factors must be strong enough to compel the subjects into following government order instead of following alternative pursuits to accomplish individual goals. Legitimate government actually has this ability, while illegitimate authority merely purports it. However, even legitimate governments have parameters that limit what the state may ask of its subjects. These parameters are derived from the subjects, based on what they feel is appropriate for the government to do and what they will allow the government to do without ... • 29. Standardized Testing Argument A Standardized test is a form of test that all students across the nation take at one point. These tests are federally mandated, timed, and designed to measure students performance in basic subjects. All students receive the same questions on the test so it s supposed to be multiple choice questions that fits all students. Standardized testing does not measure the knowledge of students, although many schools require students take them. One of the main reasons schools claim to use standardized testing is to compare performance levels of different students in different locations around the nation, but this is an unreliable way to do so. According to many studies, such tests decrease student motivation and increase their stress and anxiety. Far too much emphasis is put into standardized tests to the point where teachers are teaching to the test rather than making sure real learning is taking place. For this reasoning, opponents argue that standardized testing is a good after all. Though they do make a fair point, we can t overlook the fact there are too many factors that play a role in the testing which can likely result in unreliable and inaccurate outcomes. The rate of straight couples getting a divorce is at two percent, but the rate for lesbian couples is 1.6 percent and the rate for gay couples is even lower at 1.1 percent. This is good because that means that a child who is adopted by a gay or lesbian couple is probably going to have a more emotionally secure home, and their parents will probably stay together. Another reason that Gay and Lesbian couples should be allowed to adopt is because there aren t many people willing to adopt children, so any good people no matter what their sexuality is should be allowed to adopt. These children could go into the foster system, but adopting is much better, and it can be safer. Same sex couples have to plan to want children, instead of accidentally having them. While considered extremely controversial at the time, the arguments and teachings of Griffin in his book, Black Like Me, are still scrutinized and discussed today. The book has continued to enlighten readers to the oppressive, violent racism in America, and aided them in realizing that racism, while it may be hidden, is still prevalent today. The idea that someone is different will subconsciously make one act different, as Banaji experiences (Vedantam). Griffin too experiences this, when he is hitchhiking and white males are offering him rides; he is astounded that they would ask such provoking and private questions about his personal life. Griffin realizes that they would not ask the same questions to a white man for the fear of being rude, but when talking to a black man, they see them as subhuman (Griffin 86). Many would believe it is not a racist act, as the white men are helping them and they are not harming them. However, by treating them so rudely and cruelly, while it may be unconsciously, they are affecting them psychologically, which is possible to do in many ways. As society has progressed towards non violence, racism has changed into a different form, with harsher psychological effects. A main cause of this psychological effect of racism is the stereotyping that society has accepted as normal (Anderson). Although it may be unintentional, it is easy to deny stereotyping exists, but difficult to prove that it does not exist. As Griffin recounts, white society had everything sewed up. The Modernization Of The United States Understandably, significant historical debate flourishes around any relative or ambiguous terminology; therefore, it should be of no surprise the topic of the modernization of the United States garners little consensus. While some historians see elements of modernity in the widespread political participation of the initial decades of colonial settlement, others focus on the economic and demographic diversity of the eighteenth century as their focal point. Contrasting historians insist the American Revolution became the catalyst for permanent change, while still more contend westward expansion and the conclusion of the Civil War mark the time of the United States arrival. The innate relativism of modernity insures from the outset of debate that no one will be right, and that no one can be wrong. One historian s vision of modern will inherently be distinct from the next. However, as futile as the debate over the beginnings of modernity may be, readers can still gain much from such research.
