Assessment is important to evaluate student learning and determine if students understand or are struggling. Through assessment, teachers can identify how to help students. It is important to assess knowledge, skills, and the learning process. Assessing knowledge determines what students have learned. Assessing skills evaluates abilities like speaking, writing, reading, listening, grammar, and vocabulary. Assessing portfolios of activities, workshops, and homework evaluates the learning process. Teachers should assess using these strategies daily to understand student progress and help each student improve their knowledge, skills, and learning over time.
