5. Then together with the teacher
students practised counting the
notes with the use of scales.

7. After the scales task, the time came for
more practical activities with musical
instruments.
8. The teacher prepared
a special board with
some popular
melodies from
France, The Czech
Republic and
Finland.
9. Each song had a different metre.

10. Students got divided into three groups
according to colours on the music board.
These were: red (back row), blue (middle
row) and green (front row).
11. The teacher played the theme on the piano and the
groups followed the notes on the board. The red
group had the main rythm and the other two played
additional rythms.

13. Children also sang a song about notes,
rythms and metres. The song is rather
difficult to play as the metres in the stanza
(3/4) and in the chorus (4/4) change.
