Duties of Employer under Labour Laws
Maintain the establishment in a clean, neat, sanitary & well-lit condition. Comply with
other occupational health, safety & precautionary rules, standards & procedures.
Take necessary precautions to protect workmen against hazards, occupational
diseases, machinery in use, & ensure work safety & integrity. Post in a conspicuous
area in the establishment the instructions related to work & workmen safety in Arabic
& any other language that the workmen understand.
Inform workman, prior to engaging in the work, of the hazards of his job & require
him to use prescribed protective devices. Supply workers with appropriate personal
equipment & train them in their use.
Take necessary precautions for protection against fire & provide technical means to
combat it including safety exits which must be maintained in a serviceable condition
at all times.

Duties of Workmen under Labour Laws
Perform work in accordance with trade practice & employer’s instructions.
Pay adequate attention to machinery, tools, supplies & raw materials belonging to
employer which are placed at his disposal or in his custody.
Abide by proper behavior & ethical norms during the work.
Extend all assistance & help … in case of disasters or risks threatening workplace or
the persons working in it.
Use & preserve PPE designated for each process & carry out instructions established
to protect his health against injuries & diseases. Refrain from committing any action
or default that may cause his failure to implement instructions or abuse or impair the
devices provided to protect workplace as well as health & safety of his co-workmen.
