These steps helped it increase donor engagement and retention rates.
Dgroups is a web-based platform and global public good that allows for the creation of online communities. It has over 700 communities, 290,000 registered users who exchange over 400,000 email messages daily. Its vision is to enable everyone to contribute to dialogue and decision-making for international development and social justice.
IFAD aims to be a learning organization that systematically learns from its projects and programs to deliver high-quality services and help partners overcome poverty. It will share knowledge about rural poverty reduction to promote good practices, innovations, and influence policies.
Each IFAD project should practice a virtuous circle of communicating, learning, and sharing knowledge. A project knowledge pyramid shows how communication, knowledge management, monitoring and evaluation, and financial information are all knowledge management activities.
Projects should promote communication through a website, electronic archive, photos, press articles, and videos. They should also participate in local, national, regional and international forums and networks to facilitate knowledge sharing.

CILIP Working Internationally for Libraries Conference was a one-day virtual event supported by Arts Council England, in partnership with Libraries Connected, British Library, British Council, Carnegie UK Trust, CILIP International Libraries & Information Group, and CILIP Public & Mobile Libraries Group. The 2021 Conference explored ways of connecting with library services and sector professionals from across the world to inspire and inform local library services. 1) Ask About Business is a subscription-based business information service developed across Greater Manchester, Blackburn with Darwen, and Blackpool to provide support to entrepreneurs, small businesses, jobseekers, and others.
2) It is led by Manchester Libraries, Information & Archives and provides a reliable and comprehensive business service through a network of over 150 libraries across the region.
3) The service offers business enquiry support, online resources, training, and marketing to empower customers and support business startups and jobseekers in the local community.
The document outlines plans for a Public Library Information Offer (PLIO) in the UK that would position public libraries as providers of "Assisted Digital Services" to help citizens access government information and services online. The PLIO would involve developing library staff skills and national information resources, implementing a shared digital platform (Bookmark) for citizens to access resources, and evaluating pilots to identify an effective national model for public libraries to deliver assistance to those in need of digital support. The goal is to ensure all citizens can access public services online, with libraries playing a key role in bridging digital divides.
Our Manchester event in April called ‘Cyber across the North West – a great opportunity for the region’, allowed attendees to network, learn about the Cluster, opportunities within the region and how to get involved. At the end of the event, an open discussion took place, to really find out what projects attendees wanted the Cluster to concentrate on.
The document discusses digital projects being delivered in libraries in the SouthWest region of England. It provides examples of projects including QR trails, smartphone and tablet training courses, and a mobile library website. It also discusses emerging trends, such as libraries on trains and using near-field communication. The presentation covers assessing user needs through surveys, the importance of training for both library staff and customers, and using partnerships to deliver digital services to meet community demands. Key issues to consider for national rollout include how to address different skill levels, influence online content and social media, and leverage cooperation between organizations.

Presentation by Daniel McGrath from Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Library Service at the CILIP Ireland and Library Association of Ireland Joint Conference 2021
Images in this presentation were taken before the Covid-19 pandemic.
This document discusses plans to improve digital access and services for public libraries in the UK. It proposes a digital universal offer that would provide free internet access, e-books, and staff training to help customers access online information. It notes that while internet access is widespread, 11% of households still lack it. It outlines achievements in digital skills training for staff and partnerships. It proposes further initiatives like joint purchasing, a single digital sign-on platform, and a single digital presence to improve the customer experience and make library services and holdings more accessible online. Key workstreams for 2017-18 are listed as developing a single digital presence, single sign-on platform, and digital showrooms.
The document summarizes activities and plans for Yarra Libraries in 2010. It discusses the importance of public libraries and provides statistics on usage of the five Yarra Libraries branches. Expanding Internationally Through Partnerships: Practical Lessons For 21st Ce...Rmasisak
Rebecca Masisak and Marnie Webb, Co-CEOs, TechSoup Global
Your organization is currently doing critical work in the United States, but you recognize the need to grow its reach and impact internationally. What models should be considered? How do key staff and boards step up to support experimentation and adroitly shape and govern the emerging structures and brand?
Important lessons can be learned from pioneering TechSoup Global. As worldwide demand for its programs grew, TechSoup Global's leadership team and board struggled with developing an organizational model that would mobilize partners around a common mission and include contributions from multiple players. Like most organizations, key considerations included expansion without significant additions in headcount and overhead. Now operating in 33 countries with three distinct boards of directors, TechSoup Global has successfully built a growing global network of locally driven programs.
A showcase of applicable insights, this session explores lessons learned, innovative technologies deployed, organizational models piloted and refined, and how boards influence and model the kind of leadership needed as organizations expand internationally.
This document summarizes the services of OurDigitalWorld (ODW), a nonprofit that provides digitization and online engagement tools to help organizations connect their communities with digital collections. ODW offers consultation, project management training, and tools like the VITA toolkit to create and manage digital collections. Over 250 organizations partner with ODW to provide access to millions of digitized items and leverage the platform for community engagement and networking opportunities.

It aims to help more organizations digitize materials about the region's history and maintain a public portal called mwdl.org to provide access to these digital collections. The MWDL uses a three-tiered infrastructure model with partner institutions that own collections, hosting hubs that manage digitization and hosting, and the MWDL itself that aggregates metadata. It has over 164 partner institutions across 6 western states and provides services like training, hosting, and standards development to promote collaboration and access to digital collections in the region.

BAME Steering Group
CILIP represented and advocated for information professionals in 2018. Key activities included:
1) Making the case for properly staffed school libraries and their positive impact on students.
2) Highlighting the social impact of public libraries, especially for marginalized groups.
3) Securing government commitments to increased library funding by presenting an evidence-based case.
4) Advocating for the roles of information professionals in healthcare, business, and other sectors.
The document summarizes the process undertaken by CILIP to review and update its ethical framework for information professionals. It involved extensive consultation through surveys, workshops, and a summit. Key findings showed a need for principles to be more relevant to current contexts and address important issues like privacy, censorship, and access. The new framework streamlines the principles into a shorter commitment statement, code of conduct, and CILIP commitments. It aims to increase engagement with ethics and clarify CILIP's role in upholding them on behalf of the profession.
