Interactive narrative hasn’t changed much in forty years – it’s still ruled by limited options and predestined outcomes. While digital RPG gameplay has become more sophisticated, the stories remain rather basic (albeit better disguised). Remarkably, we still haven’t matched the tabletop role-playing experience.
We need to approach interactive story from a different angle, one that’s natively digital and that takes full advantage of the new content platform paradigm. It won’t be easy, it’ll take a lot of time… but WE’RE WIZARDS, right?!

Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Kenkalisisthe hardestbossinthe game to take care of withhisstatisticsbeingridiculouslyoff the
charts and himbeinglevel 500. Thisgame will give the audience 100’sof hours of gameplaytime
allowingthe audience todowhateverandtake anypath theyso choose.
The map is flatand 2D (thisisthe only2D view withinthe game) anddisplayedthisway for
contextual purposes, itshowsof the world of Twindlephane ratherwell withall the places,they are
namedand clear. The map isdesignedthiswaytoshow how large the worldis andallowsthe
audience tomake the mostinteractionwiththe game.The mapcan be zoomedinandwill allow
specificpointstobe shown ingreaterdetail.
Thisis kenkalisesbase whichisatowerthatlooksrathersteampunkycalledthe dark fort.The
buildingitself will be ratherdarkandblackand placedinside the hell world thathasto be teloported

theyare placeddownhere because of some crazyscientistwhowasexperimentingmakinggardens
to make thisdecollate worldlooknicer.The islandscanbe exploredfirstwhenyoureachthisworld
fromthe portal before reachingthe darkfort.The gardensare higherplacedinthe airin theirown
sectionbuttheyare the mostdangerousdue to the chance of fallingoff.Youasa character will have
to gainsome sufficientparkourskillsonyourjourneytobe able toadventure here.
Thisis the poisonousforestwhich onthe mapisplacedinSavington.Thisforestcanonlybe
exploredif youhave resistance topoisonskillora resistantoutfitwhichspecializesinvenomand
deadlypoisons. Youcanacquire these muchlateron inthe game otherwise youcan’tenterthe
terrain.The treeshere are rather brightand all the enemieshereare almostlike zombiesbeing
controlledbythe toxinstoattack youthe character.
These are the dangeroussnowymountainswhere the portal tohell isplacedupinMorgrad.The
snowymountainsare verycoldandyou can’t stayin the coldfor long,youhave to have heatsources
to keepyouwarmotherwise youdie. Heatsourcesincludecavesandfiresaroundthe terrain,upin
the snowymountainsare the ice elementers,the large snow wolvesand ratherpowerful dangerous
mammoths,anyof whichcan kill you.The mountainsare ratherhighandcan take upto 45 minutes
ingame time toclimb.The image of the mountainsiswhatitwill looklike in1st

Thisis the mountainknownasMount. Seji whichislocatednearthe topof the map byMorgrad itis
placedbythe oceanalongthe desertplainsof the shamadesert,the mountainitself isnotastall as

The door is a regularassetof the game and isjustusedas an interactive object.Thisdoordesigned

interactable givingawaylotsmore detail inexplorationasyoucan go anywhere,some doorswill
alsohave to be lock picked togetinside (thisneedstobe developedasa skill).
These are some tilesetswhichare included in the game. This is a Tileset for the textures which will
make up fora roof and stone cobble walls.Houseswhichwilluse this orange brown colour for their
roofswill be placednearthe poisonousforeston the map and will be home to a wizard community
which will teach many new spells that can be learnt. The cobble will be a texture used in certain
underground dungeons which will be scattered all across the map.
Lastlythese are the legs for josh, showing his walk cycle and how he moves as a character. This is a
regular amount of steps for a walk cycle and shows how smoothly the character will move giving a
realisticfeelingforthe audience playing.The view of the legs will not be side on but viewing in the
3rd
and 1st
person you will be able to see these leg movements. The shoes and legwear are
completely changeable and customizable just like the rest of Josh.
6. The dark forestlookslike thisanditisplaceddownnearthe bottomof the mapalongthe coast.
Enemiesthatlive here are wraithsexactlylike Kenkalis,thisisconsideredashishome land.The dark
forestrequireslightmagicorsome infusedgogglesthatallow youtosee inthe dark to enter.This
part is reachedearlyingame andthe forestissimilartothat of the poisonousone exceptits
darkness.Mainquestingwill leadyouhere asitis yourmainenemieshome.
Thisis the skill page whichyoucan easilyaccessinthe menuof mygame.There are so manyskillsin
my game,Practicallyforanything.Eachskill canlevel uptolevel 50and you unlockall the abilities
and perksas youlevel toreachthisgoal.You can onlylevel upthe necessaryskillbyusingthat
objector partakinginthat task.The A.Ialliesare differentandlevel upalongside youasyoufocuson
the tasks of the game.
Talkinganimationisimportantinagame and thisis whatmine lookslike.Allquestswill be displayed
