1. Job Chat
1.The first thing a staff member must do in chat is to make sure spammers don t continuously spam
things like spam joining when is on causing the whole chat to be filled up with Welcome back LOL
Or just strait up spamming rude things or anything really.
2.Advertising.
Advertising other servers and spamming ips that aren t vanquish is considered a mute/ban

ban report on the forums or tell an admin.
3. General Friendliness.
Staff need to be kind to all players and not be like HA HA NOOB but to say OK this is how you

Racial Tension Between Black And White Americans

Essay 4
The term The Negro Problem was used throughout the 1950 s and 60 s as a slang description of the
racial tension between black and white Americans. The two essays in The Fire Next Time talk
about the problem that the African Americancommunity faced, but from different perspectives. The
author is writing to his nephew and is trying to make him understand that the situation is intolerable
and not likely to change. He suggests that instead of reacting from a place of anger and hate, that
the nephew should fight and strive to change the situation rather than confronting it violently. That
his nephew and even the community as a whole should try to almost outsmart the whites by being
the opposite of what they think of them. To prove them wrong and hopefully change the way they
are looked at. He suggests a change of attitudes on both sides, to spread love and understanding
instead of hate and animosity.
Baldwin grew up on the streets of Harlem; he began to realize the all of the temptations such as
sex and drugs was all around him. In order not to give into these temptations, he went to the church
in the hopes it would give him some insight on what to do. Eventually Baldwin sadly realized that
the church was not preaching the idea of love to everyone, but only to the ones who believed in the
same things they did. It is not too much to say that whoever wishes to become a truly moral human

Passing Nella Larsen Summary
Passing seems like a fictional action, yet we still approve of it in today s society. In the novel,
Passing Nella Larsen speaks on how passing may not be all as cool as it may seem. How race
seems to be something you choose, but with that multiple consequences, like hiding your race
from your own husband. That no one is ever completely happy, or free, or safe (Larsen 101). Clare
explaining how being able to pass has challenges and problems. She felt trapped, having to be a race
that it not your s and struggle to know where you belong. In addition, as Clare passes as white, it
is not as glamorous or fun as it seems, she just wanted to find her place. Being able to pass makes it
difficult to choose and be happy. You have to pick one and will

Persuasive Essay About Undocumented Immigrants
My Uncle risked his life crossing the border, his family, and his future. But he was determined to
be with the love of his life, my aunt, no matter how risky it was. He was terrified, no other
emotion was coursing through his mind. He just wanted to make it there, and he did. He got lucky,
unlike many other undocumented immigrants who cross the border. and they are labeled
dangerous and should be evacuated as if they are investing our country. But like my uncle, they are
coming here for a better opportunity, because they believe in America. They believe in us, so why
should we not believe in them? Undocumented immigrants should be able to stay in America, any
age, and have a chance to get legal without complications. Because Immigrants are an improvement
to our country, we are all immigrants, immigrants are as much of a person as born Americans are.
Letting undocumented Immigrants stay in our country, isn t just a plus for them, it s a plus for us.
They are rising our population, and they help our economy, a lot! Many people, including the
president, think that immigrant workers increase labor market competition, and bring down wages
for everyone. Lucky, this is misguided, and driven into false information. Immigrants do not take
up space in employment. So they are not taking away anything from native workers, If anything,
they are providing more business for us to purchase from. People also think that terrorist are why
immigrants are judge, and they are right for one part.

The Distribution Of The Ornate Limpet
Biology report
Aim of this investigation
The aim of this investigation is to look at the distribution of the ornate limpet, (Cellana Ornata) and
the radiate limpet (Cellana Radians) on the rocky shore. We went to the rocky shore of Sirens
rocks between Island Bay and Owhiro Bay, on Wellington s South Coast. We are studying how our
chosen organisms affect each other s distribution patterns. We sampled in the low tidezone, mid
tide zone, and high tide zone. The rocky shore we explored was 80 metre long, rocky terrain, bare
rock platforms with rock gulley s.
Description of limpets
Limpets have conical shells. The limpets that are situated higher up on the shore tend to have taller
shells than those on the lower shore. The underside of the limpet has a muscular foot on which the
limpet moves around on.
Identification of organisms
Radiate limpets are identified by their flatter shells than the ornate limpet shells. Radiate limpets
can have 20 25 smooth low radial ribs. In the North Island the ribs are more indistinct and maybe
absent, the shell has radial streaks of brown and white. In the South Island the shells are dark grey
with fine radial lines. Ornate limpets are identified by their radiating black bands with a row of
white specks.
Biology of organisms
An ecological niche refers to an organism s way of life where it lives, its habitat, how it lives there
and its adaptions. The radiate limpet lives in the low tide zone of the rocky platforms whereas the

Destino And See You Again
Hitting the pain away or letting a person be free is a way to summarize the endings of Destino
and See You Again . The man in Destino picks up a ball of what used to be the ballerina s head
and hits it into the distance. The ball/head is used to symbolize the woman at the beginning of
the short film. Letting her go by hitting the ball away is the equivalent of the part of the song
describing how to carry on after a person is gone. Strength is needed to move on with life and
strength is needed to hit a baseball far away. The baseball player symbolizes the man on the
pyramid, reaching for the head at the bottom of the pyramid. He is also seen reaching for the
clock, which can be a way of asking for more time with the face at the bottom. The

The Legalization Of Marijuana
This proposal would eliminate marijuana from the Control Substance Act and it would no longer
be categorized as a Schedule 1 substance. The proposal would also require a federal permit for
growing and distributing marijuana within state and national borders. The last aspect of the
proposal would require for marijuana to be regulated exactly like alcohol by the Food and Drug
Administration as well as the Bureau of Alcohol, Tabaco, Firearms, and Explosives. Both of these
proposals are probable options for the United States, but the key question they must answer is:
Should marijuana be a national issue or a states issue? When discussing current marijuana policy
they are certain rules put in place, which criminalize marijuana. Stone states... Show more content

All of these factors cause a negative reaction by the public because they begin to feel
untrustworthy of their national government and it makes even more difficult to enforce these
rules. The United States must change their marijuana policy (rules) to something that utilizes
proper scientific research; so the public can feel that the rules put in place have some legitimacy.
Even if they don t completely agree with the policy, they will have to at least perceive the law in
a more positive light. One example is the restriction of texting while you drive; there is a portion
of the public that doesn t agree with this policy, but at the very least they are able to view the
legitimacy of it because of the proper research that is utilized. So the national government should
ask itself, if their current marijuana policy has a level of legitimacy? At the very least another
question that could be asked is whether or not we have the natural right to have access to medical
marijuana. Stone discusses normative rights or rights that cannot be given to you by the
government, instead they come from religion, ideology, or natural law. In the United States we
have the unalienable rights, which consists of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. If this holds
to be true, then the United States should not be allowed to

Bullet In The Brain Analysis
The evaluation of the short novel, Bullet in the Brain by Tobias Wolff was quite an interesting
subject matter when it comes to the understanding of one s true experience with the phrase My
life flashed before my eyes . In this novel, Wolff tells a story about a man named Anders who
experiences forgotten memories in his life and realizes what he once was and what he turned out to
be in the end. Wolff s interpretation of memory in this novel made a unique remark and left a deep
understandingon how someone could easily change in life without them even noticing. Throughout
the course of this story, Wolff takes you to Anders short remainder of time
in life and what
psychological adventure he experiences in this short amount of time. This novel by Tobias Wolff
shows a great deal of elements that one novel should need at all times. Bullet in the Brain takes
place in a bank where the main character of the story, Anders, goes to right before they closes
because he was apparently pretty preoccupied in his life. He comes in and since it was right
before it was closing time, a great deal of people are in line to do their own business at the same
time as him. Anders has an unfortunate luck as he goes in line right behind two annoying and loud
women who was having a, according to Wolff, stupid conversation. As time progresses, the bank
meets an unfortunate event by having two robbers come in with weapons to neutralize anyone who
needs to be. Anders with his uncontrollable short

Pierre-Simon Laplace s Accomplishments
Pierre Simon Laplace was a French mathematician who lived during the most violent time of France
s history. He made extensive contributions to several fields of mathematics and science including
statistics, chemistry, and most importantly physics and astronomy. He often used calculus and
differential equations to assist in his discoveries. He became a very prominent member in the nation
of France during his lifetime, holding many high positions and having close relations with
Napoleon Bonaparte during his reign of France. After a lifetime of achievements, Laplace became
known as one of the greatest French mathematicians of all time, if not the greatest.

These are also called potential functions, specifically in the fields of physics and engineering. The
solution to equation has the property that the average value over a spherical surface is equal to the
value at the center of the sphere [5]. These spherical harmonics are used for mapping the sky and
can be used to accurately describe the behavior of gravitational potentials. The equation can also be
used in steady state calculations such as Markov chains [5]. As a supplement to his work in
astronomy, Laplace worked with a French chemist, Antoine Lavoisier, on the invention of the ice
calorimeter. Calorimetry is the science of measuring the changes in the energy of a system by
measuring the heat exchanged between the reaction inside the system and its surroundings.
Therefore, a calorimeter was used to measure the quantity of heat transferred to or from an object,
often with the use of a thermometer to measure the changes in temperature. Laplace and Lavoisier
applied these quantitative methods to a comparison of living and nonliving systems. Laplace was
also very interested in the micro interactions between atoms and subatomic particles, which he
applied to macro interactions such as those found between celestial bodies

Ipsec And Ssl Protocols ( Vpn )
Abstract: As the development of computers, smart phones and tablets, more and more equipment
are connected to the Internet. Virtual Private Network, which establishes private network over
public network has made work and life much easier for people. IPSec and SSL/TLS protocols,
which provide security services, are widely used for VPN. In this paper, I ll learn the details of
IPSecand TLS/SSL protocols and provide an analysis and comparison of them.
I.Introduction
Virtual Private Network (VPN) comes to my sight by chance due to China s great firewall blocked
my access to Gmail when I stayed in China last summer. To visit the blocked websites, one of
solutions is using VPN technology.
VPN is referred to set up a private network across a public network and usually can be classified
by three types: [1] Remote Access Type, which can establish a connection between a client outside
and a company s internal resources, Extranet Type, which connects different resources in different
networks, and Intranet Type, which creates a connection between different resources within one
network. The working theory of VPN can be briefly explained by a simple example including
several steps:
Node A in Network I want to communicate to Node B in Network II via public network.
1. Since A wants to communicate with B, A will generate and send a packet whose destination IP
is B s IP address in Network II.
2. The gateway of Network I gets A s packet and checks its destination IP, if belongs to

Historical Perspective Of Django Unchained And Butch...
Ricardo Godinez
Professor Dew
History of Film

Wild, Wild West
Intro
Historical Perspective Both films were made for different reasons and made different impacts
during their time of release. For Django Unchained, the film showed the horror of slavery before
the civil war. Showing slaves being eaten by dogs to slaves fighting to the death, makes an
unconventional film for its time and raised a lot of controversy considering the movies historical
accuracy. The horror of slavery is in the dehumanization that slave owners create and the effects
placed upon the slave of having to do whatever is necessary to survive, including killing. The
memory of slavery is revisited and reminds the United States of its shame during the time of the
film. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid is a revisionist western that pays homage to old western
movies. Since Westerns were outdated in the late 60 s, this revised western film is created with
New Hollywood elements including an unhappy ending and film using rock/pop soundtracks to
attract the youth.
Theme
Both Django Unchained and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid share a common theme of
freedom. In Django Unchained, there are multiple layers of freedom shown that a man and
woman is able to obtain in life. Django is released from chains of oppression, then is given the
right to choose his costume. After his task with Dr. Schultz, he is given his freedom. Dr. Schultz
has a greater understanding of freedom since he has never

The Mexican American battle for civil rights has been long and difficult but alas necessary. Can
you imagine living in a prejudice environment and as consequence not being able to exercise your
rights as a citizen? The past notion of minorities not having the same rights as the anglo majorities
is simply absurd. The injustice that Mexican Americans have experienced in the past is undeniably
discriminatory. Justice and reasoning played an important part over the years in dismantling such
bigotry. A few notable figures, movements, and court cases in Mexican Americanhistory that

Behavior Conditioning
The introduction of classical conditioning occurred in the early twentieth century when Ivan
Pavlov performed his famous dog salivation experiment. Everyone at the time was aware that a
dog would salivate at the sight or smell of a juicy treat and that it would shudder and recoil in
disgust at a food it dislikes. Utilizing this known concept, Pavlov accompanied the delicious taste
of meat powder with the ringing of the bell whenever the dog ate its treat. The trial was repeated
numerous times until the dog would salivate to the ringing of the bell alone (Morgan). Pavlov s
discovery of conditioning has served as the basis for many debated and criticized physiological
experiments that progressed the medical industry. Through the industry s... Show more content on

Critics have argued that utilizing behavior conditioning within therapy served as an attempt to
assert unwanted goals on unwilling patients. Therapists involved in behavior conditioning have
also been criticized for imposing the demands of society onto minority patients, such as prisoners,
the disabled and mentally ill ( Behavior Modification Therapies ). Whether behavior conditioning
is ethically sound or not depends on its quantity of usage and the concentration of power. Today s
societal standards bounds modern therapists and limits the practice s concentration of power and
usage. With low rates of therapy and absence of corruption, behavior conditioning can serve as
beneficial form of therapy to both the patient and society as reactions to stressors are reduced and
medical industries advance. However, with little regulation, conditioning can serve as a major
threat not only to individuality, but democracy, as exemplified in Huxley s Brave New World. The
determination of behavioral conditioning s ethics is imprecise for lack of implementation in
society and indecisive future

Signifier In Gillette Advertisement
Semiotics is defined as the study of symbols and signs as elements of communicative behaviour
(NoМ€th 476). A sign comprises of two main parts, namely signifier and signified. The signifier
refers to any objects, image, or words on a page whilst signified is the concept the sign reflects.
Gillette Advert The signifier in the Gillette advertisement is represented by a naked man s torso
with contours similar to a landscape. It is clear that the torso is of man not a woman because of
the masculine physique. It is also appears that the model chosen for the image could be of
Caucasian, Hispanic or Asian descent and not of an African decent because the contrast between
his skin s colour and the contours is very pronounced, an indication of two contrasting hues or
colour shades. Also, the lighting of the image provides a 3 dimension view of the man s torso to

for you kids. When you were younger, you probably did a lot of dangerous activities like
tattooing or falling off your bike and getting a scar, I can help conceal those secrets for you
especially the time when you might have been abused which left a deep bruise. Your future
activities as teenagers will involve a lot of going outdoors and exposure to harmful sun radiation
and deadly mosquitoes. Also, I just want you to always remember what I taught you, sneeze into

China s Contributions To America
China, the second leading exporter in the world, is known for their immense role in the United
States economy. Without China s contribution to the U.S. economy, the United States would suffers
tremendously. This is the same case for China, the contributions from foreign companies is a big
reasons for China s success. The relationship between these two superpowers were not always very
strong. For years the United Statestrade system was not a very compelling situation for other
countries to do trade. As the United States evolved into the superpower country they faced a lot of
complications. For the United States of America to remain one of the world s most powerful
countries a strong relationship with China is a necessity. The continuation of... Show more content

The united states has numerous amounts of factories in china for the production of goods at the
cheapest price possible. With Americans relying on the basic price of an item, say the price of an
iPhone, without manufacturing this in china at the lowest wage several americans would simply
not be able to buy these luxury items. This is the case for not just luxury items but for all items
like plastic silverware, furniture, backpacks and many other items. If the United States were limit
the amount of imports from china the entire economy would change. Not just because of the
increase in prices but small businesses would be affected as well. For example say a small self
owned restaurant budgets themselves on how much the plates, silverware, and napkins cost.
Without imports from China these prices would jump immensely resulting in the owner to either
increase the price of the product or they will begin to lose

The Crucible Summary Chapter 6
During this unit, Pontius Pilate questions Jesus as the final decision maker in this trial. In verse 11
he asks Are you the king of the Jews? in which Jesus replied You have said so. Pilate continues the
interrogation after the elders and the high priest have concluded their testimonies against Jesus. An
element of irony is introduced as Pilate is amazed that Jesus made no rebuttal against such claims.
Pontius Pilateprobes further in verse 13 and asks Don t you hear the testimony they are bringing
against you? Ironically, Jesus gave no response. Why was Jesus remaining silent? Possibly, due to
the crowd s obvious people power there was no response that would have satisfied the hostile
climate. Furthermore, Jesus predicted his death many... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Once the crowd had demanded the release of Barabbas, Pontius Pilate gives the remaining

where he questions the crowd and does not get a response to the prosed question. Instead the crowd
neglects the question all together and demands for Jesus to be crucified. In verse 23 Why? What

Essay On Tata Nano
The following project lays down the marketing strategy of a small size car, Tata Nano. It begins
with introducing the car, the beginning of it s manufacturing. And then it goes on to describe why
Ratan Tata s dream project couldn t realize the huge expectations that were laid upon it. It further
mentions market analysis of India s Automotive industry, segmentation of the huge market and the
appropriate target segment selected for the product. It then entails how the product is to be
positions in the minds of the target audience and how that goal can be achieved; finally ending with
the conclusion of the report.

The title of Nano being the cheapest car was not received properly by the Indian crowd it turns
out that people in a lower income bracket have the same sense of self preservation as their
counterparts further up the economic ladder, as well as similar image issues. And, due to lack of
funds, they re cautious, sensible buyers who d rather not be fobbed off with a poor man s car, or

The Cry For God In Anne Bradstreet s Burning House
Worry ends when faith in God begins. Faith has been a part of history since the beginning of
time and has remained constant throughout life today. Anne Bradstreet s poem, Burning House ,
examines pure faith and the cry for God s love in a time of need. Alongside of the poem from
1666, the movie Courageous , produced by Stephen Kendrick, represents during a tragedy, it is
not always easy to keep a focused mind on the Lord, but the most significant way to be led
through a tough time, is to praise the Lord. Anne Bradstreet s poem and the movie Courageous ,
shows the relentless love from the Lord in a time of an aching heart. Anne Bradstreet s poem, Here

This deep tragedy in Adam s life left him in the realization of what kind of father he should be to
his son, and the path he is on with God. I will forgive those who have wronged. I will learn from
my mistakes, repent of my sins, and walk with integrity as a man answerable to God... As for me
and my house, we will serve the Lord (Kendrick). In a desperate time of grief, Adam chooses
forgiveness to those in the wronging toward Adam and his family. There is no significance to
ignoring another s sins, because God forgives all who have sinned. After Adam s daughter
passed, God proved to Adam that repenting will only lead to a burdened life and heart, but
forgiveness of yourself and others will lead to the gates of heaven. I now believe that God
desires for every father to courageously step up and do whatever it takes to be involved in the
lives of his children...young lives and be a visual representation of the character of God, their
father in heaven (Kendrick). In a time of grief and heartache, it can be difficult to reveal the
reason God has brought a certain burden to life. Adam found his answer through God, which was
to live life as a follower of Jesus and to raise his children through the knowledge of the Lord while
being a visual representation of Him.
From religion in the 1600 s to religion today in pop culture, the love of faith and God has not

The Human Need For Realistic Representations
When photographs and film were first invented it was seen as a means for capturing reality.
They would replace paintings in the role of capturing reality, due to the ability to capture
pictures in real time. In class we discussed about the idea that artists may choose to omit a part of
a portrait that is not representative of the person being depicted (such as a random strand of hair
standing up). Additionally, a random ray of light may draw attention to something in the real
world that may also not be of great importance to the person in question. These same problems
are things that can arise in movies and rather than having the viewer interpret and figure out what
is being shown, the director can take on these responsibilities through the use of camera angles,
multiple cuts, editing, artificial lighting, and the use of professional actors who can portray the
director s vision of the characters. Bazin identifies cinema as the human need for realistic
representations. Bazin is a believer in realism and explains the elements of realism consisting of
long takes, deep focus, limited editing, and the use of non professional or relatively unknown
actors (De Sica, Metteur En Scene, p.65). Though realism does have its place in filmmaking, it
would fail to take advantage of the artistic gifts and skills of the director to show what he envisions
the filmto be. After considering both sides carefully, I have come to the conclusion that the
formalist approach to filmmaking is

Chronic Acalculous Cholecystitis
When a patient comes with abdominal pain, it can be due to different causes. The pain may be
visceral, somatoparietal or referred pain as an indicator of a wide variety of systemic and local
causes. Visceral pain is from abdominal distention or stretching of the muscle fibers, carried by
sympathetic nerve fibers, presents as dull, poorly localized painin the mid areas of the abdomen.
Somatic pain occurs once the parietal peritoneum is inflamed or irritated, and passed by sensory
fibers. Somatic pain is better defined and more localized, high intensity, and also associated with
tenderness and spasm of the localized muscle groups.

Presidential Election of 1912 In the presidential election of 1912 the Democrat Woodrow
Wilson, Progressive Theodore Roosevelt, Republican William Howard Taft, and Socialist
Eugene Debs all had their opposing views on the issues that concerning the future of democracy
in America. Some of the issues were; the Conservation of Natural Resources, Direct Democracy,
Labor, Race, Tariff, Trusts and Regulation of Business, and votes for Women. Majority of the
people desired change, as would I if I were to have lived during this time period . My vote would
have been for Theodore Teddy Roosevelt, as the change he promises is fair compared to the
other candidates. Labor would be one of the issues that would be most important to me as a
voter. Working is part of life, it s necessary to be able to provide for your family. In 1912, the
working conditions were not safe or healthy. The long working hours, the dangerous work space,
the low pay all would make people desire change. As a voter, I would want to know that in the
future I would be safe at work with good pay to be able not to live in poverty. There were many
strikes that occurred, demanding change in labor in 1912. In the Lawrence Strike, people fought
for higher wages, shorter hours, safer working conditions, regulation of woman and child labor,
and workmen s compensation. Another issue that would be important to me as a voter would be
the tariff. The Tariff is a source of federal revenue. It s a way for the United States

Slavery Frederick Douglass Analysis
The Wonderful Life
In Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave, Frederick Douglass mentions
that slaves do not have the privilege to have an education. In Nicomachean Ethics, Aristotle explains
that without happiness, doing something good will not really matter because you will not be
happy. In Slavery, Jean Jacques Rousseau mentions that war is not the key to end slavery because
war is only for states not against man to man. In Thinking in Education, John Dewey says that
thinking is another method in learning because it will help students reflect on things. Life can be
wonderful if people learn to find ways to keep that happiness in them.

Dewey says that people have dwelt especially on the negative side because we let our minds
think that there is a specific way of thinking (6). As people keep growing, their knowledge keeps
developing. While people keep learning, they have to learn to accept somethings. One of those
things is by simply being able to accept that if a paper is wrong is wrong but at least they tried.
Looking at a paper or project that is wrong sometimes frightens people but it should not be that
way because those who have bad papers become the best ones. Even though, people are wrong
that should not stop with their education because of that. Meanwhile, Douglass was doing his
chores, he was able to take bread from home and share with the little white boys who, in return,
would give [him] more valuable bread of knowledge which was able to help him with his
reading and writing (2). Being wrong does not mean that this is the end, instead is a way to
motivate yourself to do the best as you can to achieve something better. People should not be
letdown when they do something wrong because no one is perfect. People just find ways to
learn even if I some cases they do thigs wrong. The whole point of this is to be able to learn and be
wrong. People should not be disappointed if they do a paper and they do not pass. They will just

After removing each part, I write and document it in a notebook so I have a guide when I
assembled it again. Little parts of the motor such as screws and washers are easily lost therefore
counting, documenting and placing it in a safe storage is very important. Lost parts such as
screws in the casing or yoke can make the motor unstable and wobbly when it will be energized.
CE 3.4 After removing the casing, the screws and the washers, I documented and wrote the
present configuration of what is inside the motor such as the number of poles, the number of
brushes, the configuration of the armature, rotor and the windings. The next thing that I did was
to observe the windings in the armature slot. I pulled the windings going towards me so that it
will protrude a little bit and so that cutting will be easy. After that, I cut the coils of the windings.
These windings are magnetic wires. CE 3.5 It was taught to us during the theory discussion of the
subject that there are two kinds of winding, the lap and the wave winding. After cutting the
windings and observing it, I concluded that the motor s configuration is a lap winding because the
end of one winding is connected to the armature slot, the other winding s end is also connected to
it. Both windings are under the same pole. CE 3.6 There are also two types of lap winding. The
simplex and the duplex. The simplex

Women s Fashion During The Great Depression
Fashion during the Great depression was very different from before because poor people

Theoretical Importance Of Transportation
IMPORTANCE OF TRANSPORTATION AND 3 THEORETICAL PERSPECTIVES Having
outlined the current state of Nairobi s transportation system, this essay will now explain why
public transportation is important and the theoretical debates that surround urban transportation.
One characteristic that most cities have in common is that they have a system of transportation
which allows residents to be mobile. These transportation services expand the lives of its
residents by providing them a way to get opportunities for getting them from place to place
which is especially important for those who do not have access to vehicles (EU EXTRA Project
2001:1) These services are used for a variety of different reasons, including but not limited to:
shopping, commuting to work/school and for leisure (ibid). As a result, it is critical for the urban
community to have a well managed transportation system because it allows people to move about
their daily life in an efficient way. Neoliberal, Marxist and Postcolonial perspectives offer different
views on what effective mass transportation services should look like and how they should be run.
The World Bank (WB), a Neoliberal leaning institution, has been very supportive of public
transportation developments and have promoted their sustainability because they believe that these
systems help connect people to jobs, health services and education in addition to being a driving
force for economic growth (World Bank 2017). As cities are continuing to rapidly

Essay Cost Volume Profit Analysis
Cost volume profit (CVP) analysis and costing for the 21st century has evolved into a very
complex and difficult paradigm. Even the most gifted accountants find that grasping the entire
concept of accounting for a corporation can be very mind boggling and difficult. Yet,
understanding such a fundamental principle can allow corporations to grow in ways that other,
less educated, corporations can never dream to achieve and simultaneously understand the bottom
line . In this paper we will discuss value costing in the 21st century, other relevant costing
methods, and the relevancy of CVP in today s workplace. Before we criticize and analyze CVP it s

Unfortunately, not all companies are as benign and have the ability to define all their variables,
especially when their product is so diverse and complex. Gupta states, in virtual enterprises it is
important to adopt a costing system based on performance and indentifying critical success factors
and tracing the measures and metrics to those factors that would ultimately lead to an improved
organizational performance and competitiveness and value (Gupta , 2005). Simply put, due to
companies evolving, their way of measuring their success can be better understood through a CVP
analysis. But, due to the complexities and many assumptions created by that analysis, I would have
to disagree. Gupta also states, the cost and performance measures in New Enterprises have to focus
on delivering value rather than merely trying to establish the historical cost (2005). I find this
statement very relevant because historical cost only allows the company to see the beginning and
the end, and separates them from the present. Understanding the present and ongoing cost is
important in determining value of a product and corporation because it possesses the true and
present success.
Some of the assumptions of CVP as outlined by accountingformanagenment are: selling price is
constant regardless of volume change, costs are linear, with multi products the sales mix is constant,
and manufacturing companies inventories do not change (N.D.). Because of the assumptions

Narmer The Harvester
The Palette of Narmer, a 3000 2920 BCE piece from Hierakonpolis illustrates the unification of
the Upper and Lower halves of Egypt. The front of the Palette depicts the necks of felines
entwined into a loop, necks bound by string in what appears to be a restraining matter; visual
evidence for that unification, and dually serving as a compact to hold some of the iconic makeup
Egyptis often associated with. Also on the front, a bull representing the insurmountable strength
of King Narmer is seen charging a city s walls, hinting at Narmer s victory as King of the new
Egypt. Narmer is represented again wearing the red crown of Lower Egypt, as decapitated and
fallen foe lay on his right side. The back of the palette, not straying from the theme... Show more

The Harvesters Vase of Hagia Triada was crafted in the relief artistic style, meaning the artist
added a component of realism by giving the structures more depth and 3 D characteristics. While
this wasn t absent holistically in Egyptian art (evidenced by the very real pyramids and
mastabas), generally many pieces of its ancient art were 2 dimensional, drawn on papyrus scrolls
in hieroglyphs or carved into colored stone. The Harvesters vase though included that element as
it shows figures that seem to be on a beveled plane. Both the Egyptian and Minoan artists
followed the trend of depicting people with profile and frontal views, both pieces also having one
person as a standout center figure. But with the Harvesters vase the detail paid to the central figure
was more of a visual one, then the symbolic details associated with Narmer on the palette. The man
is crafted with amazing anatomical detail as his hallowed ribs are seen as he inhales. This is
different than the attention to anatomical detail paid by the Egyptians with their funerary process of
mummification. The Egyptians attached significance to different body parts based on their sense
of spirituality and beliefs, whereas this artist seems interested in the actual workings of the body.
Namer s physique isn t given an excess of detail, it was more so his positioning

Raz On The Autonomy Of Legal Reasoning
The autonomous nature of legal reasoning is the subject of much contention amongst legal actors
and is understood to be restrictively in positivist Raz . In his paper On the Autonomy of Legal
Reasoning Raz asserts that legal reasoning reasoning according to law is an instance of moral
reasoning, that legal reasoning is not, in the strong sense, autonomous. This view is based on the
assumption that legal doctrines are only justified if they are morally justified. Below, follows an
appraisal of the various justifications of this assertion and a defence of Raz s position on the
autonomy of legal reasoning.
Legal positivism formulated by English jurist John Austin characterises the system of laws, the
existence of which, is dependent on social facts . Positivism accepts the Separation thesis that there
is no necessary connection between law and morality . To this end, it denies any necessary moral
criteria of legality . Furthermore, it does not necessarily accept that moral principles can directly
determine whether certain rules are valid law, as naturalism does . ... Show more content on

According to Raz, the former is underpinned by the Sources thesis which states that all law is
source based; that is, its existence and content can be determined by reference to social facts alone.
The latter is moral reasoning a conscious process that consists of transforming given information
about people , in this case a process of empirical analysis, moral reasoning, and deduction from
serious rules. Thus, it follows from his argument, that reasoning about or according to the law is an
occurrence of the transformation of given information about

The Historical Legacy Of Mao Zedong s Legacy
In order to answer the question of whether or not Mao Zedong s overall legacy has been positive
or negative for China, we would first need to be equipped with the knowledge of the historical
context that Mao Zedong was situated in prior to him coming to power in 1949. This historical
understanding is both necessary and crucial since the period before 1949 encompassed both the
lingering old central Chinese ideology, Confucianism, and the new opposing social sentiment at the
time to push for progression in the new era. The coexistence of Confucian values and the social
atmosphere at the time for advancement, both of which influenced and guided Mao Zedongin his
later major political decisions, were both contradictory, and thus, detrimental to China. The
Confucian emphasis on correct practice, [formally expressed in ritual and mouthing of the correct
formulations], even if there is little relationship between those formulations and the people using
them (Lieberthal, 1995, p.8) meant that what is said and what is performed could potentially be in
misalignment with each other. Mao s political campaigns did not necessarily called for practical
progressive reform or change. That is, the correct practice did not necessarily reflected the true
intentions of mass mobilizations and other campaigns such as the Great Leap Forwardand the
Cultural Revolutionwhich required the collective effort of a huge populace. In reality, the
campaigns that were executed by the population was a

New York City Transportation
Transportation New York City s water transport started to grow rapidly in the 19th century.
Steamboats gave quick, solid associations from New York Harbor to other Hudson River and
waterfront ports, and later neighborhood steam ships permitted suburbanites to live a long way
from their working environments. The finish in 1825 of the upstate Erie Canal, spreading over
the Hudson River and Lake Erie, made New York the most connected between Europe and
America. The Gowanus Canal and different works were worked to handle the growing traffic, all
existing shorelines were now fixed with docks. The Morris Canal and Delaware and Raritan Canal
were parts of the broad arrangement of new foundation serving the city with coal and different
items. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Post Colonial Mexico Essay
The history of Post colonial Mexico included many successful and influential leaders: Porfirio
Diaz, Francisco Madero, Francisco (Pancho) Villa, and Emiliano Zapata. Disparities in
classification of the revolution arise from the numerous factions and ideological assumptions
advocated for the overthrow of Diaz s rule, hence one can argue that it was a political, social, or
economical revolution. A social revolution advocates a complete transformation of all characteristic
aspects of society, encompassing the political structure, economically distribution, and social
hierarchy. These men set forth some major objectives to revive Mexicothat led to the Mexico
Revolution of 1910 1916 and the Constitution of 1917.

The Plan of San Luis Potosi simply was for the people of Mexico to raise their arms to overthrow
the dictatorship of Diaz and reinstitute democracy. The countryside and city joined together
under the leadership of Francisco Madero to overthrow Porfirio Diaz after 1910. There were a
number of revolts and uprisings around the country in Madero s name. In February 1911,
Madero and his men attached the city of Casas Grandes in Chihuahua and defeated Diaz s
federals. Madero and his men continued attacking other cities and they were warned not to get
too close to the U.S. border because it might hurt Americans in the process of them fighting
within their own country. However, his generals, Pascal Orozco and Francisco Villa, were eager to
fight. They attacked Juarez against Madero s orders, and defeated Diaz s federal troops again. On
May 1911, a peace treaty was signed and Porfirio Diaz agreed to resign and to go into exile. On
November 1911, Francisco I. Madero became the first new President of Mexico in almost 30
years. From the beginning, he was a moderate. He wanted to challenge Diaz, but he did not want
to institute policies that went against the rich landowner class to which his family belonged. He
kept most of the power structure created by Diaz intact, much to the dismay of those who had
hoped for significant change. Very quickly, Madero alienated his former allies, Pascal Orozco and
Emiliano Zapata. Emiliano Zapata was born in

Shear Flow Essay
Large scale shear flows are one of the most ubiquitous structures that naturally occur in a variety
of physical systems and play an essential role in determining the overall transport in those
systems. For example, stable shear flows can dramatically quench turbulent transport by shear
induced enhanced dissipation (see, e.g., Refs. ( removed HTML ) 1 16 ( removed HTML ) ). This
occurs as a shear flow distorts fluid eddies, accelerates the formation of small scales, and dissipates
them when a molecular diffusion becomes effective on small scales. One remarkable consequence
of this turbulence quenching is the formation of transport barrier where the transport is
dramatically reduced. The transition from low confinement to... Show more content on

In most of the previous works, the main focus was on the calculation of turbulent transport in a
stationary state in a forced turbulence. Different models of turbulence such as 2D and 3D
hydrodynamics and magnetohydrodynamic turbulence with/without rotation and stratification
as well as different types of shear flows (e.g., linear, oscillatory, and stochastic shear flows) (
removed HTML ) ( removed HTML ) 5 9 ( removed HTML ) ( removed HTML ) were considered
previously. In comparison, much less work was done on the effect of shear flows on the
dynamics/time evolution of turbulence, more precisely, how the enhanced/accelerated
dissipation is manifested in time evolution. A clear manifestation of shear flow effects on the
dynamics seems especially important, given an ongoing controversy over the role of a shear
flow in transport reduction, e.g., whether it is due to the reduction in cross phase (via an
increased memory, as caused by waves) or the reduction in the amplitude of turbulence via
enhanced dissipation (e.g., see Refs. ( removed HTML ) 16 ( removed HTML ) and ( removed
HTML ) 20 ( removed HTML ) and references therein). A decaying turbulence provides us with an
excellent framework in which this can be investigated in depth. We thus consider a simple decaying
two dimensional hydrodynamic turbulence model and examine the transient relaxation of the
vorticity by different

Patois In Jamaica
There s no other place in this world where you ll find somewhere that offers rich and vibrant
culture other than Jamaica. Being the third largest Caribbean Island just south of Cuba, the
population of Jamaica is approximately 2.8 million people. According to the Statistics Institute of
Jamaica: In 2014 the latest estimate of people was 2.7 million. The people that reside in Jamaica,
90% are African descent, with the other ten percent made up of mostly Caucasians, East Indians
and Chinese (Barrett 1997:3). The people of this island are fusions of many different ethnicities
that have arrived on the island s shores through as far as a few hundreds of years. Majority of the
island is from African descent, but also many small communities of Indian, Chinese, Arab, and
European. The well known Jamaican accent, the food, and the music of Jamaica takes after the
historical backdrop of the island. Jamaican culture is more than simply reggae music. The people is
what makes Jamaica, and Jamaica is what makes the people there.... Show more content on

We speak in Standard English, just with a Jamaican accent usually reserved for professional
environments. Many Jamaicans also speak Patois, which is a separate language that is used for
casual everyday conversations. Jamaican Patois is a street language that has some borrowed
words from numerous languages, for example, English, Spanish, and some West African
languages. When learning Patois, one thing you should keep in mind is that it is not a strict
language, where there is a right way or wrong way to say something. I ve spent most of my
childhood in Jamaica, so I pretty much know Patois myself. It s easy to recognize and understand.
Some of the words can be pronounced and spelled contrastingly in any case but still mean the same
thing. The imperative thing will be whether or not what you are saying is caught

Postoperative Essay On Epidural Analgesia
Introduction:
Recent estimates indicate that millions of major surgical procedures are performed worldwide each
year and Patients undergoing gastrointestinal surgery for malignancy are typical representatives of
such high risk patients. [1]
Major abdominal surgeries induce neurohumoral changes responsible for postoperative pain,
various organ dysfunctions and prolonged hospitalization.
Inadequate pain control is harmful and costly thus an appropriate pain therapy must be used to
those patients.

The presence of high quality analgesia in the postoperative period is very important, to relieve
post surgical pain and improve well being, and also because inadequate pain control may increase
morbidity, lead to prolonged hospital stays, and increase medical costs. [4]
Patient controlled epidural analgesia (PCEA) is a widely used postoperative analgesic strategy
because it is very effective and safe method of acute postoperative pain relief. [5]
In these surgeries Epidural analgesia may effectively applied to improve perioperative pain;
epidural analgesia was coupled with improved analgesia, earlier extubation time, better
haemodynamics, less respiratory complications, and superior left ventricular function. [6]
In this study we aimed to investigate the effects of
Continuous intra and post operative thoracic epidural
Fentanyl bupivacaine infusion in patients undergoing
Major Upper gastrointestinal cancer Surgery, Regarding analgesic efficacy, intraoperative fluid
shifts, side effects and peri operative haemodynamics. Patients and Methods:

  • 4. Racial Tension Between Black And White Americans Jenifer Coderko History 7B Professor Matthews November 11 2014 Essay 4 The term The Negro Problem was used throughout the 1950 s and 60 s as a slang description of the racial tension between black and white Americans. The two essays in The Fire Next Time talk about the problem that the African Americancommunity faced, but from different perspectives. The author is writing to his nephew and is trying to make him understand that the situation is intolerable and not likely to change. He suggests that instead of reacting from a place of anger and hate, that the nephew should fight and strive to change the situation rather than confronting it violently. That his nephew and even the community as a whole should try to almost outsmart the whites by being the opposite of what they think of them. To prove them wrong and hopefully change the way they are looked at. He suggests a change of attitudes on both sides, to spread love and understanding instead of hate and animosity. Baldwin grew up on the streets of Harlem; he began to realize the all of the temptations such as sex and drugs was all around him. In order not to give into these temptations, he went to the church in the hopes it would give him some insight on what to do. Eventually Baldwin sadly realized that the church was not preaching the idea of love to everyone, but only to the ones who believed in the same things they did. It is not too much to say that whoever wishes to become a truly moral human being ...must ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Persuasive Essay About Undocumented Immigrants My Uncle risked his life crossing the border, his family, and his future. But he was determined to be with the love of his life, my aunt, no matter how risky it was. He was terrified, no other emotion was coursing through his mind. He just wanted to make it there, and he did. He got lucky, unlike many other undocumented immigrants who cross the border. and they are labeled dangerous and should be evacuated as if they are investing our country. But like my uncle, they are coming here for a better opportunity, because they believe in America. They believe in us, so why should we not believe in them? Undocumented immigrants should be able to stay in America, any age, and have a chance to get legal without complications. Because Immigrants are an improvement to our country, we are all immigrants, immigrants are as much of a person as born Americans are. Letting undocumented Immigrants stay in our country, isn t just a plus for them, it s a plus for us. They are rising our population, and they help our economy, a lot! Many people, including the president, think that immigrant workers increase labor market competition, and bring down wages for everyone. Lucky, this is misguided, and driven into false information. Immigrants do not take up space in employment. So they are not taking away anything from native workers, If anything, they are providing more business for us to purchase from. People also think that terrorist are why immigrants are judge, and they are right for one part. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Distribution Of The Ornate Limpet Biology report Aim of this investigation The aim of this investigation is to look at the distribution of the ornate limpet, (Cellana Ornata) and the radiate limpet (Cellana Radians) on the rocky shore. We went to the rocky shore of Sirens rocks between Island Bay and Owhiro Bay, on Wellington s South Coast. We are studying how our chosen organisms affect each other s distribution patterns. We sampled in the low tidezone, mid tide zone, and high tide zone. The rocky shore we explored was 80 metre long, rocky terrain, bare rock platforms with rock gulley s. Description of limpets Limpets have conical shells. The limpets that are situated higher up on the shore tend to have taller shells than those on the lower shore. The underside of the limpet has a muscular foot on which the limpet moves around on. Identification of organisms Radiate limpets are identified by their flatter shells than the ornate limpet shells. Radiate limpets can have 20 25 smooth low radial ribs. In the North Island the ribs are more indistinct and maybe absent, the shell has radial streaks of brown and white. In the South Island the shells are dark grey with fine radial lines. Ornate limpets are identified by their radiating black bands with a row of white specks. Biology of organisms An ecological niche refers to an organism s way of life where it lives, its habitat, how it lives there and its adaptions. The radiate limpet lives in the low tide zone of the rocky platforms whereas the ornate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The man in Destino picks up a ball of what used to be the ballerina s head and hits it into the distance. The ball/head is used to symbolize the woman at the beginning of the short film. Letting her go by hitting the ball away is the equivalent of the part of the song describing how to carry on after a person is gone. Strength is needed to move on with life and strength is needed to hit a baseball far away. The baseball player symbolizes the man on the pyramid, reaching for the head at the bottom of the pyramid. He is also seen reaching for the clock, which can be a way of asking for more time with the face at the bottom. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The proposal would also require a federal permit for growing and distributing marijuana within state and national borders. The last aspect of the proposal would require for marijuana to be regulated exactly like alcohol by the Food and Drug Administration as well as the Bureau of Alcohol, Tabaco, Firearms, and Explosives. Both of these proposals are probable options for the United States, but the key question they must answer is: Should marijuana be a national issue or a states issue? When discussing current marijuana policy they are certain rules put in place, which criminalize marijuana. Stone states... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All of these factors cause a negative reaction by the public because they begin to feel untrustworthy of their national government and it makes even more difficult to enforce these rules. The United States must change their marijuana policy (rules) to something that utilizes proper scientific research; so the public can feel that the rules put in place have some legitimacy. Even if they don t completely agree with the policy, they will have to at least perceive the law in a more positive light. One example is the restriction of texting while you drive; there is a portion of the public that doesn t agree with this policy, but at the very least they are able to view the legitimacy of it because of the proper research that is utilized. So the national government should ask itself, if their current marijuana policy has a level of legitimacy? At the very least another question that could be asked is whether or not we have the natural right to have access to medical marijuana. Stone discusses normative rights or rights that cannot be given to you by the government, instead they come from religion, ideology, or natural law. In the United States we have the unalienable rights, which consists of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. If this holds to be true, then the United States should not be allowed to ... • 12. Bullet In The Brain Analysis The evaluation of the short novel, Bullet in the Brain by Tobias Wolff was quite an interesting subject matter when it comes to the understanding of one s true experience with the phrase My life flashed before my eyes . In this novel, Wolff tells a story about a man named Anders who experiences forgotten memories in his life and realizes what he once was and what he turned out to be in the end. Wolff s interpretation of memory in this novel made a unique remark and left a deep understandingon how someone could easily change in life without them even noticing. Throughout the course of this story, Wolff takes you to Anders short remainder of time in life and what psychological adventure he experiences in this short amount of time. He comes in and since it was right before it was closing time, a great deal of people are in line to do their own business at the same time as him. Anders has an unfortunate luck as he goes in line right behind two annoying and loud women who was having a, according to Wolff, stupid conversation. These are also called potential functions, specifically in the fields of physics and engineering. The solution to equation has the property that the average value over a spherical surface is equal to the value at the center of the sphere [5]. These spherical harmonics are used for mapping the sky and can be used to accurately describe the behavior of gravitational potentials. The equation can also be used in steady state calculations such as Markov chains [5]. As a supplement to his work in astronomy, Laplace worked with a French chemist, Antoine Lavoisier, on the invention of the ice calorimeter. Calorimetry is the science of measuring the changes in the energy of a system by measuring the heat exchanged between the reaction inside the system and its surroundings. Therefore, a calorimeter was used to measure the quantity of heat transferred to or from an object, often with the use of a thermometer to measure the changes in temperature. Laplace and Lavoisier applied these quantitative methods to a comparison of living and nonliving systems. Laplace was also very interested in the micro interactions between atoms and subatomic particles, which he applied to macro interactions such as those found between celestial bodies ... Virtual Private Network, which establishes private network over public network has made work and life much easier for people. IPSec and SSL/TLS protocols, which provide security services, are widely used for VPN. In this paper, I ll learn the details of IPSecand TLS/SSL protocols and provide an analysis and comparison of them. I.Introduction Virtual Private Network (VPN) comes to my sight by chance due to China s great firewall blocked my access to Gmail when I stayed in China last summer. To visit the blocked websites, one of solutions is using VPN technology. VPN is referred to set up a private network across a public network and usually can be classified by three types: [1] Remote Access Type, which can establish a connection between a client outside and a company s internal resources, Extranet Type, which connects different resources in different networks, and Intranet Type, which creates a connection between different resources within one network. The working theory of VPN can be briefly explained by a simple example including several steps: Node A in Network I want to communicate to Node B in Network II via public network. 1. Since A wants to communicate with B, A will generate and send a packet whose destination IP is B s IP address in Network II. 2. The gateway of Network I gets A s packet and checks its destination IP, if belongs to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 16. Historical Perspective Of Django Unchained And Butch... Ricardo Godinez Professor Dew History of Film November 21, 2017 Wild, Wild West Intro Historical Perspective Both films were made for different reasons and made different impacts during their time of release. For Django Unchained, the film showed the horror of slavery before the civil war. Showing slaves being eaten by dogs to slaves fighting to the death, makes an unconventional film for its time and raised a lot of controversy considering the movies historical accuracy. The horror of slavery is in the dehumanization that slave owners create and the effects placed upon the slave of having to do whatever is necessary to survive, including killing. The memory of slavery is revisited and reminds the United States of its shame during the time of the film. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid is a revisionist western that pays homage to old western movies. Since Westerns were outdated in the late 60 s, this revised western film is created with New Hollywood elements including an unhappy ending and film using rock/pop soundtracks to attract the youth. Theme Both Django Unchained and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid share a common theme of freedom. In Django Unchained, there are multiple layers of freedom shown that a man and woman is able to obtain in life. Django is released from chains of oppression, then is given the right to choose his costume. After his task with Dr. Schultz, he is given his freedom. Everyone at the time was aware that a dog would salivate at the sight or smell of a juicy treat and that it would shudder and recoil in disgust at a food it dislikes. Utilizing this known concept, Pavlov accompanied the delicious taste of meat powder with the ringing of the bell whenever the dog ate its treat. Therapists involved in behavior conditioning have also been criticized for imposing the demands of society onto minority patients, such as prisoners, the disabled and mentally ill ( Behavior Modification Therapies ). Whether behavior conditioning is ethically sound or not depends on its quantity of usage and the concentration of power. Today s societal standards bounds modern therapists and limits the practice s concentration of power and usage. With low rates of therapy and absence of corruption, behavior conditioning can serve as beneficial form of therapy to both the patient and society as reactions to stressors are reduced and medical industries advance. • 28. The Human Need For Realistic Representations When photographs and film were first invented it was seen as a means for capturing reality. They would replace paintings in the role of capturing reality, due to the ability to capture pictures in real time. In class we discussed about the idea that artists may choose to omit a part of a portrait that is not representative of the person being depicted (such as a random strand of hair standing up). Additionally, a random ray of light may draw attention to something in the real world that may also not be of great importance to the person in question. These same problems are things that can arise in movies and rather than having the viewer interpret and figure out what is being shown, the director can take on these responsibilities through the use of camera angles, multiple cuts, editing, artificial lighting, and the use of professional actors who can portray the director s vision of the characters. Bazin identifies cinema as the human need for realistic representations. Bazin is a believer in realism and explains the elements of realism consisting of long takes, deep focus, limited editing, and the use of non professional or relatively unknown actors (De Sica, Metteur En Scene, p.65). Though realism does have its place in filmmaking, it would fail to take advantage of the artistic gifts and skills of the director to show what he envisions the filmto be. Looking at a paper or project that is wrong sometimes frightens people but it should not be that way because those who have bad papers become the best ones. Little parts of the motor such as screws and washers are easily lost therefore counting, documenting and placing it in a safe storage is very important. CE 3.4 After removing the casing, the screws and the washers, I documented and wrote the present configuration of what is inside the motor such as the number of poles, the number of brushes, the configuration of the armature, rotor and the windings. After that, I cut the coils of the windings. These windings are magnetic wires. CE 3.5 It was taught to us during the theory discussion of the subject that there are two kinds of winding, the lap and the wave winding. After cutting the windings and observing it, I concluded that the motor s configuration is a lap winding because the end of one winding is connected to the armature slot, the other winding s end is also connected to it. • 39. Theoretical Importance Of Transportation IMPORTANCE OF TRANSPORTATION AND 3 THEORETICAL PERSPECTIVES Having outlined the current state of Nairobi s transportation system, this essay will now explain why public transportation is important and the theoretical debates that surround urban transportation. One characteristic that most cities have in common is that they have a system of transportation which allows residents to be mobile. These transportation services expand the lives of its residents by providing them a way to get opportunities for getting them from place to place which is especially important for those who do not have access to vehicles (EU EXTRA Project 2001:1) These services are used for a variety of different reasons, including but not limited to: shopping, commuting to work/school and for leisure (ibid). As a result, it is critical for the urban community to have a well managed transportation system because it allows people to move about their daily life in an efficient way. Neoliberal, Marxist and Postcolonial perspectives offer different views on what effective mass transportation services should look like and how they should be run. The World Bank (WB), a Neoliberal leaning institution, has been very supportive of public transportation developments and have promoted their sustainability because they believe that these systems help connect people to jobs, health services and education in addition to being a driving force for economic growth (World Bank 2017). As cities are continuing to rapidly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 41. Essay Cost Volume Profit Analysis Cost volume profit (CVP) analysis and costing for the 21st century has evolved into a very complex and difficult paradigm. Even the most gifted accountants find that grasping the entire concept of accounting for a corporation can be very mind boggling and difficult. Yet, understanding such a fundamental principle can allow corporations to grow in ways that other, less educated, corporations can never dream to achieve and simultaneously understand the bottom line . In this paper we will discuss value costing in the 21st century, other relevant costing methods, and the relevancy of CVP in today s workplace. Before we criticize and analyze CVP it s important to have a good understanding of what it does for a company and the accountant.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unfortunately, not all companies are as benign and have the ability to define all their variables, especially when their product is so diverse and complex. Gupta states, in virtual enterprises it is important to adopt a costing system based on performance and indentifying critical success factors and tracing the measures and metrics to those factors that would ultimately lead to an improved organizational performance and competitiveness and value (Gupta , 2005). Simply put, due to companies evolving, their way of measuring their success can be better understood through a CVP analysis. But, due to the complexities and many assumptions created by that analysis, I would have to disagree. Gupta also states, the cost and performance measures in New Enterprises have to focus on delivering value rather than merely trying to establish the historical cost (2005). I find this statement very relevant because historical cost only allows the company to see the beginning and the end, and separates them from the present. Understanding the present and ongoing cost is important in determining value of a product and corporation because it possesses the true and present success. Some of the assumptions of CVP as outlined by accountingformanagenment are: selling price is constant regardless of volume change, costs are linear, with multi products the sales mix is constant, and manufacturing companies inventories do not change (N.D.). Also on the front, a bull representing the insurmountable strength of King Narmer is seen charging a city s walls, hinting at Narmer s victory as King of the new Egypt. The Harvesters Vase of Hagia Triada was crafted in the relief artistic style, meaning the artist added a component of realism by giving the structures more depth and 3 D characteristics. While this wasn t absent holistically in Egyptian art (evidenced by the very real pyramids and mastabas), generally many pieces of its ancient art were 2 dimensional, drawn on papyrus scrolls in hieroglyphs or carved into colored stone. The Harvesters vase though included that element as it shows figures that seem to be on a beveled plane. Both the Egyptian and Minoan artists followed the trend of depicting people with profile and frontal views, both pieces also having one person as a standout center figure. But with the Harvesters vase the detail paid to the central figure was more of a visual one, then the symbolic details associated with Narmer on the palette. The man is crafted with amazing anatomical detail as his hallowed ribs are seen as he inhales. This is different than the attention to anatomical detail paid by the Egyptians with their funerary process of mummification. The Egyptians attached significance to different body parts based on their sense of spirituality and beliefs, whereas this artist seems interested in the actual workings of the body. • 45. Raz On The Autonomy Of Legal Reasoning The autonomous nature of legal reasoning is the subject of much contention amongst legal actors and is understood to be restrictively in positivist Raz . In his paper On the Autonomy of Legal Reasoning Raz asserts that legal reasoning reasoning according to law is an instance of moral reasoning, that legal reasoning is not, in the strong sense, autonomous. This view is based on the assumption that legal doctrines are only justified if they are morally justified. Below, follows an appraisal of the various justifications of this assertion and a defence of Raz s position on the autonomy of legal reasoning. Legal positivism formulated by English jurist John Austin characterises the system of laws, the existence of which, is dependent on social facts . Positivism accepts the Separation thesis that there is no necessary connection between law and morality . To this end, it denies any necessary moral criteria of legality . Furthermore, it does not necessarily accept that moral principles can directly determine whether certain rules are valid law, as naturalism does . ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 46. The Historical Legacy Of Mao Zedong s Legacy In order to answer the question of whether or not Mao Zedong s overall legacy has been positive or negative for China, we would first need to be equipped with the knowledge of the historical context that Mao Zedong was situated in prior to him coming to power in 1949. This historical understanding is both necessary and crucial since the period before 1949 encompassed both the lingering old central Chinese ideology, Confucianism, and the new opposing social sentiment at the time to push for progression in the new era. The coexistence of Confucian values and the social atmosphere at the time for advancement, both of which influenced and guided Mao Zedongin his later major political decisions, were both contradictory, and thus, detrimental to China. The Confucian emphasis on correct practice, [formally expressed in ritual and mouthing of the correct formulations], even if there is little relationship between those formulations and the people using them (Lieberthal, 1995, p.8) meant that what is said and what is performed could potentially be in misalignment with each other. Mao s political campaigns did not necessarily called for practical progressive reform or change. That is, the correct practice did not necessarily reflected the true intentions of mass mobilizations and other campaigns such as the Great Leap Forwardand the Cultural Revolutionwhich required the collective effort of a huge populace. In reality, the campaigns that were executed by the population was a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A social revolution advocates a complete transformation of all characteristic aspects of society, encompassing the political structure, economically distribution, and social hierarchy. The countryside and city joined together under the leadership of Francisco Madero to overthrow Porfirio Diaz after 1910. There were a number of revolts and uprisings around the country in Madero s name. In February 1911, Madero and his men attached the city of Casas Grandes in Chihuahua and defeated Diaz s federals. Madero and his men continued attacking other cities and they were warned not to get too close to the U.S. border because it might hurt Americans in the process of them fighting within their own country. However, his generals, Pascal Orozco and Francisco Villa, were eager to fight. They attacked Juarez against Madero s orders, and defeated Diaz s federal troops again. On May 1911, a peace treaty was signed and Porfirio Diaz agreed to resign and to go into exile. On November 1911, Francisco I. Madero became the first new President of Mexico in almost 30 years. From the beginning, he was a moderate. He wanted to challenge Diaz, but he did not want to institute policies that went against the rich landowner class to which his family belonged. He kept most of the power structure created by Diaz intact, much to the dismay of those who had hoped for significant change. • 51. Shear Flow Essay Large scale shear flows are one of the most ubiquitous structures that naturally occur in a variety of physical systems and play an essential role in determining the overall transport in those systems. For example, stable shear flows can dramatically quench turbulent transport by shear induced enhanced dissipation (see, e.g., Refs. ( removed HTML ) 1 16 ( removed HTML ) ). This occurs as a shear flow distorts fluid eddies, accelerates the formation of small scales, and dissipates them when a molecular diffusion becomes effective on small scales. One remarkable consequence of this turbulence quenching is the formation of transport barrier where the transport is dramatically reduced. The transition from low confinement to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In most of the previous works, the main focus was on the calculation of turbulent transport in a stationary state in a forced turbulence. Different models of turbulence such as 2D and 3D hydrodynamics and magnetohydrodynamic turbulence with/without rotation and stratification as well as different types of shear flows (e.g., linear, oscillatory, and stochastic shear flows) ( removed HTML ) ( removed HTML ) 5 9 ( removed HTML ) ( removed HTML ) were considered previously. In comparison, much less work was done on the effect of shear flows on the dynamics/time evolution of turbulence, more precisely, how the enhanced/accelerated dissipation is manifested in time evolution. A clear manifestation of shear flow effects on the dynamics seems especially important, given an ongoing controversy over the role of a shear flow in transport reduction, e.g., whether it is due to the reduction in cross phase (via an increased memory, as caused by waves) or the reduction in the amplitude of turbulence via enhanced dissipation (e.g., see Refs. ( removed HTML ) 16 ( removed HTML ) and ( removed HTML ) 20 ( removed HTML ) and references therein). A decaying turbulence provides us with an excellent framework in which this can be investigated in depth. We thus consider a simple decaying two dimensional hydrodynamic turbulence model and examine the transient relaxation of the vorticity by different ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
