Woody Allen Essays
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Woody Allen Essays" presents a multifaceted challenge. To
begin with, Woody Allen is a polarizing figure, renowned for his contributions to film and
literature, but also marred by controversy and allegations that can't be ignored. Navigating the
complexities of his personal life alongside his creative achievements requires a delicate balance
of objectivity and critical analysis.
Furthermore, Allen's body of work spans decades and encompasses a diverse range of themes,
styles, and influences. From his early slapstick comedy to his later introspective dramas, there's a
wealth of material to explore, each piece offering its own unique insights and interpretations.
Narrowing down the focus to a specific aspect or period of Allen's career is essential to avoid
overwhelming the essay with superficial observations.
Moreover, delving into Woody Allen's essays adds another layer of complexity. His written
works offer a glimpse into his intellect, humor, and worldview, often blurring the lines between
fiction and autobiography. Analyzing these essays requires not only a deep understanding of
Allen's literary style but also an awareness of the socio-cultural context in which they were
written.
Additionally, addressing the controversies surrounding Woody Allen's personal life necessitates
a sensitive approach. While it's crucial to acknowledge and critically examine allegations of
misconduct, it's equally important to separate the artist from the art and assess Allen's creative
output on its own merits.
In conclusion, composing an essay on "Woody Allen Essays" demands meticulous research,
nuanced interpretation, and ethical consideration. It requires grappling with the complexities of a
divisive figure while maintaining academic rigor and integrity.

Jonathan Sewall vs John Adams
Jonathan Sewall and John Adams were close friends and agreed on many issues.
British policies towards the American colonies during the 1760s and 1770s, however,
was not one of them. Sewall, a staunch supporter of authority, defended British
policies. John Adams, on the contrary, believed the policies to be unjust and thus
challenged British authority. Sewall believed that the colonial challenge to British
authority threatened the very way of life in the colonies while Adams thought that
British authority provided a bigger threat. Each man s view of the cause of the
revolution also differed.
Sewall defended British Authority by stating that, Man is a social Animal and that
without authority and rules there can be no society. He also ... Show more content on

Others had strong connections to Parliament and the King and believed that Britain
had the right to tax the American colonies and thus they supported the Crown
faithfully throughout the war.

When people write persuasive essays and articles they often use images and wording
to help express what they wish to get across to the reader. Jonathan Sewall and John
Adams were very skilled in doing this and could thus write extremely convincing
arguments. Both used vibrant details when describing their ideas so that they would
be presented in a clear and favorable light.
Sewall and Adams were able to vividly describe images, in order to create a picture
in the minds of the readers. Sewall used dramatic words to describe his feelings
such as, It is in vain to think any longer of drawing them to such a pitch is the
Frenzy now raised, that the Colonists will never yield Obedience to the Laws of the
parent State, till, by Experience, they are taught to fear her power. Adams also used
his diction to his advantage when defending his position. But it is honestly
confessed, rather than become subject to the absolute authority of parliament, in all
cases of taxation and internal polity, they will be driven to throw off that of
regulating trade. By using words like these, both Sewall and Adams, were able to
express their ideas more effectively to their intended audience.

My Impressive Warning
Don t move , a gun pointed my friend and me at a night that I might not forget. That
night, my best girl friend who came from Columbia went through a big change in
her life because she suffered from a sexual assault. I finished the SMU
questionnaire about sexual problem in few days ago. Actually I had either sad or
little delight because assigning a questionnaire to students means that a collage pays
high attention to students sexual problems. However, I felt sad because I recalled
my girlfriend s sexual assault again. No matter how old the women is, there is no
doubt that she or her family or friends were influenced a lot by sexual assault. Also,
I was impacted by my friend s sexual assault so I got warnings and some ideas after
that. In order to avoid sexual assault, everyone had better pay attention to her safety
and not have prejudices against someone who suffered from sexual assault.
I contacted my girlfriend on Instagram two weeks ago. I thought that everything
was better about her at that time because I felt she already had a normal life from
her photos. However, I burst my tears after my friend told me she tried her best to
accept the physical and psychological treatment. Although the sexual assault
happened in last year, my girlfriend still faced in her trouble. I remembered that that
day was the second day of our winter vocation. The strange phenomenon was that a
few messages appeared on my phone about same content Do you know where Lisa
Future Human Space Exploration And Operations
Asteroids will provide the means to transform future human space exploration and
operations in to large scale activities. They will first provide a rich source of
minerals and material for initial economic expansion and concurrently providing
platforms for operations and manufacturing. Eventually, asteroids could be used as
space vehicles to move humans across and possibly beyond the solar system
effectively becoming mobile bases of operations and even space colonies. The only
significant limitations for this future growth are technological capability and legal
ambiguity for large scale human space activity. For any space activity to overcome its
limitations and get off the ground, the activity must generate a great deal of interest.
Asteroids have long been of high interest to the scientific community to help answer
many early solar system mysteries. However, industrialists such as Deep Space
Industries have taken an interest in these objects as well1. They are already creating
companies to attempt mining some of these objects. Upon close inspection the
composition of asteroids relative to Earth something amazing appears. Asteroids
contain as much or orders of magnitude more than the Earth critical materials needed
to create a thriving economy2. This explains the interest in space industrialists
particularly when considering our current capability for creating spacecraft.
Current space launches can be prohibitively expensive and dangerous. The cost per
pound has always been
Being A Bartender Research Paper
Bartending is a highly competitive career between young and old adults. Many
college student rely on being a bartender as their main source of income. In many
ways, some might say I have the perfect job. I succeed to work in an upbeat
atmosphere, meet new people, and sample some treasured spirits. Most of the time
you can find me laughing with guests while mixing their favorite cocktails on the
menu. I play host to their party and gatekeeper to their alcohol. Some will try to
make friends with me in hopes of free drinks in the future. Although this may sound
like the perfect career there are some disadvantages. Before quitting your day job,
here are a few points to consider. Some of the disadvantages are working late hours,
dealing with a stressful work environment, and inconsistent pay.
To begin, being a bartender will have you putting in the late night work hours. Being
a night owl is an understatement in this career. Many bars close in the early
morning, and leave the bartender to clean up the trash and spilled drinks left behind.
The last concern a barkeep would have is spending two hours cleaning after
babysitting drunk customers all night. The bartender is ... Show more content on

I receive $2.13 per hour plus tips. The valuable tips usually weigh out the poor ones
at the end of the night, however, this is not always the case. Sometimes you think
you have cash to spare, as a result of getting paid at the end of every shift.
Consequently, I become more of an impulse shopper. I do not think about saving
money, being that I am not waiting on a paycheck. With this in mind, there are
slow periods during the year when income can be sparse. I discontinue spending
money when I do not have the usual amount of income. I struggle through weeks
where I earn $400, and others upwards of $900. It is difficult to base your bills on
what you are earning. It is also harder to get a loan for anything because there is such

Driver Loyalty In NASCAR Sports
NASCAR has seen great success with branding by differentiating the racing events
from other racing series, especially with the overall race experience. Whether a fan
attends the live venue, watches from the television, or listens through radio they are
able to experience the exhilaration of the racing experience. Fans stand 75 million
strong, and are the second highest in television ratings second only to the National
Football League (Ferrell, Hartline, 2014). The sense of community within the
NASCARsport encourages a bond among fans and drivers. Driver loyalty is
unrivaled, and the emotional attachment to the racing series is the foundation of the
brand.
In a brilliant move to co brand and market with Fortune 500 companies, NASCAR has
Character Relationships In Star Wars
Character relationships For stories that captivate the audiences, they need well
developed plots with characters who have interesting relationships with each other.
The relationships of the characters really drive the story because without the
important relationships, there will not be a story. The three points where it seems
that the relationships the characters have are important to the story would be in Star
Wars, alien s relationships with humans, and in The Day After Tomorrow. There are
many key relationships characters share in Star Wars that without them, the story
would actually not have been a hit. Three of the relationships are Luke and Darth
Vader, Luke and Han Solo, and Anakin and Obi won. Luke and Darth Vader have an
interesting relationship. Since Darth Vader is in fact Luke s father but at the same
time his enemy, it definitely draws the audience in to find out what happens next. It
also makes the final battle scene in Star Wars: Return of the Jedihigh tension to see
what will happen when Luke finally faces his father. Another relationship that
helps the story would be Luke and Han Solo. This character relationship is about
two friends. It is important to the story because Han Solo has gone out of his way
to make sure Luke is alive, such as when Luke was left out in the cold on Hoth. If
Han Solo did not have the urge to save his friend then there would be no story
without the main character. Also, Han Solo and Luke fight side by side to fight the

Car Hands Observation
I was extremely excited to hear that Caring Hands had a job opening for their
Veterinary Technical Assistant position. After observing Dr. Neumann and his
assistants at Caring Hands, I am now interested in working in veterinary medicine
and would love to work with them again. I got the opportunity to carry out my
Shadowing Project at Caring Hands between the months of February and March.
This project let me see how the average workday would play out for both the
assistants and the doctors themselves by observing the activities and procedures they
performed on animals each day. Throughout my stay at Caring Hands, I was able to
learn about how animals get an ultrasound, a dental abscess removal, and have their
blood drawn. In addition, I observed
The Intersection Of Information Laws
Some of the issues that I would like to explore in this paper, are the intersection of
information laws, and how they intersect with the ethical standards, and the actual
practice. Since computers and technologies grow extremely fast, the laws are unable
to govern new developments in the field. Therefor those that develop these systems
and programs have an ethical imperative to, analysis the impact that these systems
could have on others. When new technologies and standards are created, one must
look at the effect of the technology, and the possible ways that someone could
maliciously obtain, or misuse data. Currently in the united states the privacylaws that
exist only protect very specific forms of data, and only controls a small... Show more

The only area in which the government gets involved in privacy collection is to
enforce fair trade agreements, and practices that directly violate the terms of use
agreement that exists between an end users and a company or group (Solove and
Hartzog 585). In the European Union, the standards for privacy is vaguely worded,
and only protects from the transmission of data to countries outside the EU (Sipior
et al. 6) The major issue with this practice is many forms of gathering data, can
legally be done so long as the end user has been informed of this practice, and has
agreed to it (Warner 18). Most users however are not going to spend the time to
actually read what they are agreeing to, and therefor will likely agree to something
that they would actually object to (Warner 14). Obviously, in an ideal world, people
would read everything that they are agreeing to, but the fact of the matter is that
people will not. Knowing this, there is an obvious legal loophole that anyone
wishing to do mine and profit from data gathered can easily exploit. Since the laws
are not currently able to protect people from these practices, the ethical responsibility
lies directly on the companies and programmers that write the software. These kinds
of agreements that are imposed on end users in the form of end user
Medical Experiments of the Holocaust Essay
Medical Experiments of the Holocaust Kaitlin Holocaust in History January 6, 2013
Many brutal atrocities were committed during the Holocaust by the Nazi party against
anyone they viewed as unpure . This included the Jews, Gypsies, homosexuals, Afro
Germans, Slavs, communists, the handicapped, and the mentally disabled. These
groups were targeted, stripped away of their rights and citizenship, and then sent to
concentration camps. Some of these camps were death camps; created for the sole
purpose to annihilate these groups of people, mainly the Jews. At these camps, the
prisoners were tortured, starved, brutally killed, and experimented on. In this research
paper, I am going to discuss some of the medical experiments that were... Show more

They forced about ninety Gypsies to drink seawater only, while being deprived of
food. Obviously since the salt content of the water causes the body to retain more
salt, and lose more water, which is why seawater is undrinkable, these experiments
caused serious bodily injury, major dehydration, and an enormous amounts of pain
and suffering. The Gypsies were so dehydrated and so desperate for water, they
reportedly licked the floored after they had been mopped just to get a drop of fresh
water. (The Experiments, Remember.org) Experiments were conducted to find an
antidote to phosgene, a toxic gas use as a weapon during World War I. At Fort Ney
near Strasbourg, France, Nazi doctors exposed roughly 52 concentration camp
prisoners to the phosgene gas. This gas caused extreme irritation to the prisoners
lungs. Many of the prisoners suffered pulmonary edema after the exposure. Four
died as a result of the experiments. (The Experiments) Josef Mengele, a Nazi doctor
stationed at Auschwitz, was called the Angel of Death . Many times he would be
the one who was in charge of selection . He had the power to decide the fate of the
prisoner; he had the power of life and death over them. He was in charge of the many
experiments conducted at Auschwitz. The experiments he is most known for are
genetic experiments, and the experimentations on twins. (Josef Mengele) Many of
those who were experimented on were children. They were kept
Dmitri Shostakovich s Accomplishments
Dmitri Shostakovich Dmitri Shostakovich was a Russian composer. He was well
known for his string quartets, concertos, and instrumental works that he composed, as
well as for his numerous film scores, incidental theatre music, and ballets.
Shostakovich is usually regarded as the greatest symphonist in the 20th musical
achievements. However, even though Shostakovich was a famous musician, he was
not projected to have a musical gift at an early age. Born in St. Petersburg on
September 25, 1906, Dmitri Shostakovich was raised in a home where musicmaking
assumed an important place (Fay 8). Despite the musical environment, Shostakovich
s was not interested in music. According to Shostakovich himself, he didn t sneak to
the door at three in order to listen to music (Fay 9), and when he did listen to it, he
slept just as soundly as the night before (Fay 9). However, at the age of eight,... Show

After Josef Stalin s denunciated Shostakovich for his Lady Macbeth in an essay
published in Pravda, Shostakovich was transformed into a strange combination of
non person and musical public enemy number one ( Kenneth Woods Conductor ).
Under pressure to simplify his music and adapt it to classical models, he composed
the Fifth Symphony, which was a triumph against the earlier criticism. This
symphony consisted of four movements and reflected his situation as an artist who
would be judged by politics as much as by talent. The third movement of the piece is
his most moving creation. He uses the orchestra with tremendous restraint ( Kenneth
Woods Conductor ) as he does in the first movement by opening a long paragraph for
strings ( Kenneth Woods Conductor ), and slowly introducing percussion and
woodwind instruments. Then, Shostakovich begins the build up to the anguished
emotional climax of the whole symphony, which makes this symphony well known

Health Care Administration Career Over View
HEALTH CARE ADMINISTRATION CAREER OVER VIEW
The healthcare industry is so vast and so important to the well being of the U.S.
economy that it should not come as a surprise that it requires competent
administrators able to manage the day day operations of a medical facility, as well as
provided leadership to the staff. In fact, health care
Administration shares many similarities with other large scale business structures
that require their mid level managers and executives to lead, and make difficult
decisions when such needs to be done. However, in addition to knowledge of
accounting, budgeting, and leadership principles, healthcare administrators also need
to have an understanding of the healthcare industry as a whole, and their own role in
the complex process of providing medical services to patients.

Paper on Patents
PATENT THE AUTOCRAT
The very utterance of the word patent frightens us with the sheer complexity and
wordplay it can subsume us with. Here is an attempt to demystify patents and the
world of legal wrangling. As the lexicon definition goes, it is the exclusive right
granted by a government to an inventor to manufacture, or sell an invention for a
certain number of years . However, over the years, as patents and workarounds have
evolved, companies have gone out of their ways to exercise monopoly over
innovation and prevent competition from innovating in a related area of research and
development.
In the US, the International Trade Commission is the disinterested body which
oversees trade and takes a final call over unfair trade practices. All patents have to
go through a process of prosecution before being approved and pursued in a
commercial setting. Patents are also governed by the purview of jurisdiction. In such
a scenario, what may apply in The United States of America need not hold true in the
United Kingdom.
With that being said, patents have changed to become entities which prevent other
people from doing . In other words, patents have regressed from being a mechanism
to safeguard innovation to an instrument to cartel against opposition. As far as patents
in the world of computers go, there are only hardware patents. There is no such thing
as a software patent . Additional cause for concern is the fact that the boundaries
between software and hardware are

The Benefits of Simulated Realities on Scientific Literacy
In their essay, Scientific Habits of Mind in Virtual Worlds, Professor Constance
Steinkuehler and Professor Sean Duncan explore the benefits that result from playing
in simulated realities, and how they impact system based reasoning. The largely
successful massively multiplayer online game, or MMO, World of Warcraft is
specifically analyzed and deconstructed through visual aids such as scatter plots,
forum evaluations, and lists of code to illustrate how the site fosters the growth of
scientific literacy in today s youth. Among this compelling evidence, Steinkuehler and

By stating this unsettling fact, Steinkuehler and Duncan profess a major issue in the
school systems of today. Science class alone is not enough to stimulate proper
retention of scientific learning. There is, however, a surprising solution to this issue:
MMO s. By targeting such a substantial user base, well over ten million subscribers
globally (408), an analysis of a discussion forum was conducted. Among the 2,000
posts in World of Warcraft, Steinkuehler and Duncan found a full set of analytic codes
that can be placed into three categories: Scientific discursive practices, Systems and
model based reasoning, and tacit epistemologies. These posts in the forum were
found to build on the scientific habit of mind, and therefore illustrated Steinkuehler
and Duncan s argument by presenting the evidence that, 86% of the WoW discussion
forums consisted of talk that could be considered social knowledge construction
meaning, the collective development of understanding, often through joint problems
solving and argumentation. (412). Of that percentage, 28% of the posts made
individuals used data or evidence of some form in order to warrant their claims.
(412). These statistics are crucial to the argument that online games are a useful asset
to foster strategic thinking and scientific literacy as a
Research Paper On Impulse Buying
Impulse Buying Behavior Definition Impulse buying can be referred to as sudden
unplanned decision to buy a product or service made specifically at the time of
purchase. Rook (1987) explains impulse buying as Impulse buying takes place when
a consumer feels a sudden often strong and insistent urge to purchase something
instantly. The urge to buy is hedonically complex and often may fuel emotional
conflict. Also, impulse buying is likely to occur with reduced concern for its
consequences. Beatty Ferrell (1998) explains the concept of impulse buying by
saying that it is immediate purchase of a product without any pre shopping intentions
to buy. Jeffrey and Hodge (2007) state that, impulse buying comprises of four
components: the purchase is unplanned, it is the result of an exposure to stimulus, it
is decided on the spot , and it involves an emotional and/or cognitive reaction

However, having an impulse to buy does not automatically imply acting upon it.
Numerous factors may interfere between having the impulse to buy and actual
buying, (Dholakia, 2000). In truth, individuals practice innumerable strategies to
have some control on this craving (Hock and Loewenstein, 1991). This difference
has also been validated empirically. For example, Beatty Ferrell (1998) empirically
proved the compulsion to detach the impulse to buy from actual buying behavior
with the help of admirable performance of model they presented when impulse
buying was considered to be the only dependent variable. Likewise, prevailing
researches (e.g. Beatty and Ferrell, 1998) also indicate that for buying impulse the
determinants may not essentially predict impulse buying. It means that not every
impulse to buy can be translated as an actual buying

purified. Through the different migration rates, compounds with a more negative
charge will migrate down faster due to the positive electrode. The LDH isozymes
also have different isoelectric points (pI) , giving a different net charge, therefore
affects its migration rate. Two standards are placed into the agarose gel for

Conclusions:
In our purification table, the purification that gave us the biggest increase in purity
was the 65% cut pellet. The 65% cut pellet had the lowest percent yield, 5.15%,
determined by dividing its total protein to the clarified homogenate (first step of
purification). The 65% cut also had the highest fold purification calculated; it was
higher than the clarified homogenate, The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The 65% cut pellet also had the highest recovery of LDH because of the total
activity units, 869.132 U. The lowest recovery of LDH was affinity purified LDH
with the total activity units of 578.778 U and with a specific activity of 0.504 U/mg.
Some unexpected results may have resulted in human error when determining
absorbance versus time. When using the GENESYS spectrophotometer, our group
did not keep the proteins in the ice buckets for a good amount of time, which may
have resulted in different decay rates for the different purification steps.
If we have down SDS Page, the purification could have show proteins based purely on
molecular weight, because the charges would be neutralizes. SDS Page is also known
under denaturing conditions because it makes sure that even proteins with different
conformations do not migrate through the gel any faster than a different protein. The
higher molecular weight would migrate to the bottom more quickly than a lower
molecular weight protein. SDS Page could have shown the general molecular weights
in the bands of LDH.

Alliances During World War 1 Essay
Alliances During World War 1 Although there were many underlying reasons for the
European nations to break out in war, the early days of the fighting between Serbia
and Austria caused the expansion of the war, along with the alliances which failed to
remain peace and actually contributed to the war. Also, the possibility of remaining
neutral and prepared is always another alternative, rather than forming allies that may
require the nation to enter a war. A war between Serbia and Austria caused 7 nations
to enter the fighting, justified by the reason of supporting alliances previously formed
and underlying conflicts. Initially, World War I
was spurred by the assassination of

By the end of all of the formations of alliances two powers emerged, the Allies,
which consisted of Great Britain, France, Serbia, Russia, and Belgium, and the
Central Powers which was Germany, Austria Hungary, and then later joined by
Bulgaria and Turkey. These alliances did not maintain the peace in the least bit
because if a war were to break out, it would involve all of the greater powers of
Europe since the members of each group would feel the only right thing to do would
be to support one another during the war. The alliances themselves actually
contributed to the war because they caused more and more nations to enter the war
as it progressed. The alliances formed ties between the nations that required them to
support a country during a time of need, which in this case was war. The possibility
of remaining neutral but prepared is always an option in time of war, although it may
not work out that way. Several countries remained neutral, such as America, until the
Germans declared unrestricted submarine warfare, causing the need to join the war.
The Netherlands also remained neutral, along with the Dutch who opened their doors
for Belgian refugees. Also, the Dutch sent food and clothes to the remaining Belgians
as far as the Germans allowed them to. Those countries remained neutral, however
they were not necessarily prepared for war. Remaining neutral yet prepared is a hard

Was Lenin more significant for his actions in 1917 or for his subsequent actions from
1918 to 1924?
Lenin was a Russian revolutionary and was best known for being one of the main
leaders of the October Revolution in 1917 and the first head of the Russian Soviet
Socialist Republic. But was Lenin more significant for his actions in 1917 or his
subsequent actions from 1918 to 1924? That is the question I will be exploring in
this essay and I will be thinking of all of his actions in the mentioned years.
Lenin s main role in 1917 was to spearhead the revolution. In February 1917 the
February Revolution took place, the result of an accumulation of social, political and
economic problems caused by the war. In 1917 the war effort caused... Show more

There was a great deal of repression in Russia, such as all non Bolshevik papers being
banned. The freedom of opinion in Russia, which had been achieved by the
Provisional Government, was lost in the space of two months. Banks were put under
Bolshevik government control. The Bolsheviks banned religion and abolished the
teaching of history and Latin.
Some things did improve for the workers. An eight hour day was introduced as well
as unemployment pay and pensions. The Bolsheviks gave the land previously owned
by the nobles to the peasants, and factories were handed over to worker s committees.
There was also a huge campaign to teach everyone to read. Trains went around the
country showing communist newsreels and giving lectures to teach peasants about
Communism. A law of December 1919 decreed that the illiterate, who comprised of
over half the country s population, should attend school.
The Russian economy was already in a critical state at the time of the Revolution
but the crisis worsened as World War was replaced by Civil War. In 1917 Lenin
introduced В‘War Communism which meant that special measures were needed to
deal with a national emergency. The period between 1918 and 1921 came to be
known as the period of War Communism. Farms and factories were put under state
control and private trade was banned. Food was taken for soldiers and industrial
workers. Peasants who refused to hand it over to the red Army were shot or sent to
labour camps. The Cheka

in the loss of major market share to Lipton. Although the weaknesses of its
competitors have always kept Lipton ahead of them, however, the threat is always

innovation and improvement of its product.

This is the thought which Baz Luhrmann wants to put into the audiences mind for
their first impression of not so fair Verona; so after the news report is told, the
camera whizzes into the screen behind the news reader which displays a blown up
petrol station, burning away as chaos fills the air. The serenade of blasting classic
opera music, which is played while the images of the shocking city are presented,
makes the seriousness and dramatic quality. The rapid montage of imagery adds
to the rush of adrenaline that is felt when you watch this scene. A police helicopter
is shown hovering unsteadily in the air. Moreover, as if it is being shot from the
helicopter, bird s eye view shots are taken with speed shots many long shots
zooming into close ups as the panoramic view of the city is previewed. It is as if
Verona is being shaken by the crime when the noisy helicopter makes the camera
focus shaky. The fast editing which shows us police cars, people being chased and
people being injured makes the upbeat anxiety more effective. Another aspect of the
opening, which I found effective, is the voice over. Made to seem God like, it
echoes the story in brief, in a somewhat worried and disappointed tone of voice.
Luhrmann indicates the ongoing vendetta by showing the close up pictures of the

The name Mitsubishi is formed of mitsu ( three ) and hishi (literally, water chestnut ,

In 1971 MHI sold U.S. automotive giant Chrysler a 15 percent share in the new

Funding Options
There are several funding options available since we have no working capital. We
could go public and offer shares to raise money to invest into the modifications, but
the problem with this is that as a business owner you will not get to keep 100% of
the profits; you will be paying your shareholders a dividend. Equity investors will
require a percentage of ownership as well as the return on their investment. This
can also wind up being costly down the road. Another option is to acquire a loan,
but most lending institutes will only lend 60% 70% of the requested amount
leaving the borrower having to raise the other 30% 40% in equity. This may not be
a bad deal if the equity investor does not demand a large portion of ownership and is
patient on returns. Another option is a 7(a) loan since they are the simplest and

All God s Children By Fox Butterfield Essay
All God s Children by Fox Butterfield is a stunning story about a teenage murderer,
Willie James Bosket, and the heritage of violence within his family. Through some
incredibly creative and thorough research, Butterfield traces Willie s family back to
the Deep South where they had been slaves and provides in depth portrayals of each
family member in order to give a comprehensive historical overview through each
generation. The pattern of violenceand its connection to the culture of the South
makes a very compelling case for the values of the antebellum South, as they
translate to a modern urban environment, where drugs and guns are readily
available, and hope is fleeting, as a root cause in our culture s creation of violent
sociopathic children like Willie Bosket. Author James Baldwin told an audience at

Essentially, the key fact that makes the islands of Hawaii so unique and worthy of
studying is that nearly the entire mountain range is built entirely by volcanic activity
and each island is the top of an enormous volcanic mountain. These exceptional
qualities fuel the study of how the islands themselves were created, in order to answer
the curiosities behind the composition of some of the most extravagant volcanoes in
the world.
III.History of the Hawaiian Islands
The basic theory of plate tectonics says that all volcanic activity should occur
between lithosphere plates (Physical Geology). However, the Hawaiian Islands
bend this rule by being located directly in the middle of the Pacific plate. The
Hawaiian volcanoes are known as intraplate volcanoes. This may not seem possible
because it disrupts the rule of plate tectonics, but there s the exception of a hot spot.
T. Wilson suggested that the Pacific plate moved in the northwestward direction over
a melting spot deep within the mantle, and this hot spot remained relatively
stationary and supplied magma to the moving Pacific plate to form the Hawaiian
Island chain (Volcanoes in the Sea). In order to prove this suggestion, the structure of
the Hawaiian Islands must be in line with a hot spot origin. This will be
Archaeopteryx Research Paper
For my research project, I did it on the archaeopteryx and the dodo bird. The
archaeopteryx, also known as the ancient wing . It comes from the 2 Greek words
archaД«os, meaning ancient, and ptГ©ryx, meaning wing. The Dodo bird or the
flightless bird is another example of an extinct species that is included in this paper.
The archaeopteryx, once thought of as the First Bird or Urvogel was a avian/reptile.
The Archaeopteryx was believed to live about 150 million years ago, towards the end
of the Jurassic period. The Avian dinosaurwas a carnivore and scientist believe it
prayed on small animals, which it would pick up in its talons. It also had wings like
any other avian, but scientist are not completely sure if it could fly, glide or it even
be another type of flightless bird, like the Dodo.
The structure of the reptilian/ avian has many similarities and differences to the
modern bird, which is why it s understandable that the scientist were not sure what to
categorize the creature. The size of the Ancient Wing, is typically the size of a
modern day raven with the weight of only 2 pounds. A distinguishing trait about the
creature is the fact it had a full set of teeth which lead scientist to believe that this

This is a technique for learning and improvement containing four phases, plan, do,

after his death, researchers are continuing to incorporate Shewhart s principles in an
effort to improve quality in healthcare. In a recently published paper, control charts
were used to identify patients who developed adverse outcomes following elective

Genetic Engineering for Livestock Producers
In order to meet the needs of a growing population scientist and livestock producers
have been focused on increasing food production efficiency, whilst maintaining
animal health and welfare. Therefore advancements have been made in the form of
new reproductive and genetic technologies to ensure that the highest level of
productivity can be reached and maintained. These technologies offer breeders
new pathways to meet goals and objectives over both short and long term periods.
The possibilities available include genetic engineering, marker selection MOET
and cloning, however new technologies are being developed at a rapid rate.
Cloning of livestock was first successfully completed in 1996 when a female
domestic sheep was cloned from an adult somatic cell. Since then cloning has been
used within the livestock industry, to produce a genetically identical copies of
superior animals. Somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) is currently being utilised
for cloning of adult farm animals. This process involves the reprogramming of a
somatic cell nucleus to preform in a set way for embryonic development to occur.
The first stage of SCNT involves the collection of a somatic cell using cumulus,
fibroblasts, ovarian/ granulosa, marry, muscle, oviduct or uterine cells (Davies et al,
2003). An oocytes arrested at metaphase II is used for the reprograming of the
somatic cell as it comprises the necessary components for starting and instructing
early embryonic development. After collection
Persuasive Speech On Battery Reconditioning

Continental Drift and Plate Tectonics
Continental Drift and Plate Tectonics Theory (Part 1a) Introduction: The Beginning
of the Continental Drift Theory In the middle of the eighteenth century, James Hutton
proposed a theory, uniformitarianism; the present is the key to the past . It held that
processes such as geologic forces gradual and catastrophic occurring in the present
were the same that operated in the past. (Matt Rosenberg, 2004) This theory
coincides with the theory of Continental Drift that was first proposed by Abraham

breaking apart. (USGS, 2012) Wegener also claimed that the centrifugal force of
the spinning planet had forced the continents sideways, parallel to the equator;
tidal pull from the sun and moon had caused lateral movement. (Sant, Joseph,
2012) His orders of magnitude were too weak. Thus, his theory was dismissed.
(Lois Van Wagner, 2013) Further development and support of the Continental Drift
Theory in the 1960s After World War 2, the U.S. Office of Naval Research
intensified efforts in ocean floor mapping, leading to the discovery of the Mid
Atlantic Ridge to be part of a continous system of mid oceanic ridges on all ocean
floors, prompting Harry H. Hess to suggest the theory of sea floor spreading. The
oldest fossils found in ocean sediments were only 180 million years old and little
sediment were accumulated on the ocean floor. Thus, he suggested that seafloors
were no more than a few hundred million years old, significantly younger than
continental land due to
Fauves Attributes In Art
Introduction
The colour attributes could be separated into three parts: hue, saturation and
luminance. In the colour theory, the hue refers to the colour of images, while
saturation describes the intensity (purity) of the hue (Steven, 2013). The saturation is
thus identified as the intensity of colours in artworks which is ranged from pure
colour to grey. A single colour is purer as the saturation increases, while the saturation
decreases as the colour goes paler. The aim of this assignment is to describe and
analyse the Fauves paintings, an artistic genre which speaks highly of saturation more
than hue or luminance, as saturation could better express their personalities and
feelings.
The Fauvism was founded in 1905 in France by twentieth century modern artists.
Unlike the others, the Fauvism could be absolutely deemed as a unique genre as it
does not have special theory and principle yet is promoted by large numbers of
artists in a short period (Freeman, 1990). This artistic style is in favour of creating a
strong effect of paintings through bright and colours by announcing emotional
expressionism. The Fauves absorbs the essence of Oriental and African arts, then
crease a unique simple and sparse prospect on purpose. One of the most famous
painting works named The Creole Dancer (as shown in Fig.1), painted by the
greatest artist of the Fauves, Henri Matisse, is presented below and is to develop a
demonstration of how saturation interferes differently (Roger, 2009).
James Joyce Essay
In selecting James Joyce s Ulysses as the best novel of the twentieth century, Time
magazine affirmed Joyce s lasting legacy in the realm of English literature. James
Joyce (1882 1941), the twentieth century Irish novelist, short story writer and poet is
a major literary figure of the twentieth century. Regarded as quot;the most
international of writers in EnglishВЎK[with] a global reputation (Attridge, pix), Joyce
s stature in literature stems from his experimentation with English prose. Influenced
by European writers and an encyclopedic knowledge of European literatures, Joyce s
distinctive writing style includes epiphanies, the stream of consciousness technique
and conciseness.

Hauptmann s comprehensive version of the portrait of an artist helped Joyce
develop his own interpretation. A further clarification was provided by the German
philosopher Friedrich Nietzche (1844 1900). Joyce adapted Nietzsche s concept of
the Superman in developing his portrait of an artist. Although Joyce rejected the
Catholic Church all his life, Reynords, in Joyce and Dante: The Shaping
Imagination clams that the Italian poet and the greatest of Catholic poets Dante
Alighier (1265 1321) quot;whose influence pervades all Joyce s writing is never
cowed by authority quot; (Attridge p. 56 57). Perhaps that is why Joyce was attracted
to Dante s writing.
amp;#9;Of all his literary countryman, the only Irish literary who s left a profound
impression on Joyce was that Irish nationalist poet, James Clarence Mangan (1803
1849). In the short story quot;Araby, quot; Joyce pays tribute to the poet by naming
the narrator s classmate, Mangan. Joyce identified with Mangen because of his
linguistic skill and knowledge of the literature of Italy, Spain, France and Germany.
Furthermore, Mangan was disdained by his Irish contemporaries a gesture Joyce
considered an act of treachery.
amp;#9;Joyce s use of the stream of consciousness technique first appeared record
these epiphanies with extreme care, quot;seeing that they themselves are the
moments. quot; (Kalasty, p.199) Although all the stories
Lincoln s Second Inaugural Address Analysis
For my English essay, it would be about the bill of rights, the reclamation of
independence, the preamble of the constitution, and Lincoln s second inaugural
address. When I explain what each paragraph has bought two of the same year or
close when they were formed and what does it has an effect on. I wasn t concerned
with what is about because most people don t look back on history and just pass
with a great grade and don t rely on the things people have done in their past lives.
First off, the one that pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor to
usher in the birth of the world s only truly free nation, Liberty s Progeny
incrementally ceded their birthright to the government conceived and designed to
serve a free people, and am not its servant, giving the people a free right. this
generation is awakening to the terrible mistake that we, and our ancestors allowed to
happen by mistake. While the reclamation of independence happened the bill... Show

Abraham Lincoln delivered his second inaugural address on March 4, 1865At a
time when victory over secessionists in the American civil war was within days and
slavery in all of the at this second appearing to take the oath of the presidential
office, there is less occasion for an extended address than there was at the first.
Then a statement, somewhat in detail, of a course to be pursued, seemed fitting
and proper. Now, at the expiration of four years, during which public declarations
have been constantly called forth on every point and phase of the great contest
which still absorbs the attention, and engrosses the energies of the nation, little that
is new could be presented. The progress of our arms, upon which all else chiefly
depends, is as well known to the public as to myself; and it is, I trust, reasonably
satisfactory and encouraging to all. With high hope for the future, no prediction in

  • 1. Woody Allen Essays Crafting an essay on the topic of "Woody Allen Essays" presents a multifaceted challenge. To begin with, Woody Allen is a polarizing figure, renowned for his contributions to film and literature, but also marred by controversy and allegations that can't be ignored. Navigating the complexities of his personal life alongside his creative achievements requires a delicate balance of objectivity and critical analysis. Furthermore, Allen's body of work spans decades and encompasses a diverse range of themes, styles, and influences. From his early slapstick comedy to his later introspective dramas, there's a wealth of material to explore, each piece offering its own unique insights and interpretations. Narrowing down the focus to a specific aspect or period of Allen's career is essential to avoid overwhelming the essay with superficial observations. Moreover, delving into Woody Allen's essays adds another layer of complexity. His written works offer a glimpse into his intellect, humor, and worldview, often blurring the lines between fiction and autobiography. Analyzing these essays requires not only a deep understanding of Allen's literary style but also an awareness of the socio-cultural context in which they were written. Additionally, addressing the controversies surrounding Woody Allen's personal life necessitates a sensitive approach. While it's crucial to acknowledge and critically examine allegations of misconduct, it's equally important to separate the artist from the art and assess Allen's creative output on its own merits. In conclusion, composing an essay on "Woody Allen Essays" demands meticulous research, nuanced interpretation, and ethical consideration. It requires grappling with the complexities of a divisive figure while maintaining academic rigor and integrity. Similar essays and much more can be ordered on HelpWriting.net. • 2. Jonathan Sewall vs John Adams Jonathan Sewall and John Adams were close friends and agreed on many issues. British policies towards the American colonies during the 1760s and 1770s, however, was not one of them. Sewall, a staunch supporter of authority, defended British policies. John Adams, on the contrary, believed the policies to be unjust and thus challenged British authority. Sewall believed that the colonial challenge to British authority threatened the very way of life in the colonies while Adams thought that British authority provided a bigger threat. Each man s view of the cause of the revolution also differed. Sewall defended British Authority by stating that, Man is a social Animal and that without authority and rules there can be no society. Others had strong connections to Parliament and the King and believed that Britain had the right to tax the American colonies and thus they supported the Crown faithfully throughout the war. IV When people write persuasive essays and articles they often use images and wording to help express what they wish to get across to the reader. Jonathan Sewall and John Adams were very skilled in doing this and could thus write extremely convincing arguments. Both used vibrant details when describing their ideas so that they would be presented in a clear and favorable light. Sewall and Adams were able to vividly describe images, in order to create a picture in the minds of the readers. Sewall used dramatic words to describe his feelings such as, It is in vain to think any longer of drawing them to such a pitch is the Frenzy now raised, that the Colonists will never yield Obedience to the Laws of the parent State, till, by Experience, they are taught to fear her power. Adams also used his diction to his advantage when defending his position. But it is honestly confessed, rather than become subject to the absolute authority of parliament, in all cases of taxation and internal polity, they will be driven to throw off that of regulating trade. By using words like these, both Sewall and Adams, were able to express their ideas more effectively to their intended audience. References Jonathan Sewall Offers a Defense
  • 3. Descriptive Essay On Aggressive Suicide My Impressive Warning Don t move , a gun pointed my friend and me at a night that I might not forget. That night, my best girl friend who came from Columbia went through a big change in her life because she suffered from a sexual assault. I finished the SMU questionnaire about sexual problem in few days ago. Actually I had either sad or little delight because assigning a questionnaire to students means that a collage pays high attention to students sexual problems. However, I felt sad because I recalled my girlfriend s sexual assault again. No matter how old the women is, there is no doubt that she or her family or friends were influenced a lot by sexual assault. Also, I was impacted by my friend s sexual assault so I got warnings and some ideas after that. In order to avoid sexual assault, everyone had better pay attention to her safety and not have prejudices against someone who suffered from sexual assault. I contacted my girlfriend on Instagram two weeks ago. I thought that everything was better about her at that time because I felt she already had a normal life from her photos. However, I burst my tears after my friend told me she tried her best to accept the physical and psychological treatment. Although the sexual assault happened in last year, my girlfriend still faced in her trouble. I remembered that that day was the second day of our winter vocation. The strange phenomenon was that a few messages appeared on my phone about same content Do you know where Lisa
  • 4. Future Human Space Exploration And Operations Asteroids will provide the means to transform future human space exploration and operations in to large scale activities. They will first provide a rich source of minerals and material for initial economic expansion and concurrently providing platforms for operations and manufacturing. Eventually, asteroids could be used as space vehicles to move humans across and possibly beyond the solar system effectively becoming mobile bases of operations and even space colonies. The only significant limitations for this future growth are technological capability and legal ambiguity for large scale human space activity. For any space activity to overcome its limitations and get off the ground, the activity must generate a great deal of interest. Asteroids have long been of high interest to the scientific community to help answer many early solar system mysteries. However, industrialists such as Deep Space Industries have taken an interest in these objects as well1. They are already creating companies to attempt mining some of these objects. Upon close inspection the composition of asteroids relative to Earth something amazing appears. Asteroids contain as much or orders of magnitude more than the Earth critical materials needed to create a thriving economy2. This explains the interest in space industrialists particularly when considering our current capability for creating spacecraft. Current space launches can be prohibitively expensive and dangerous. The cost per pound has always been
  • 5. Being A Bartender Research Paper Bartending is a highly competitive career between young and old adults. Many college student rely on being a bartender as their main source of income. In many ways, some might say I have the perfect job. I succeed to work in an upbeat atmosphere, meet new people, and sample some treasured spirits. Most of the time you can find me laughing with guests while mixing their favorite cocktails on the menu. I play host to their party and gatekeeper to their alcohol. Some will try to make friends with me in hopes of free drinks in the future. Although this may sound like the perfect career there are some disadvantages. Before quitting your day job, here are a few points to consider. Some of the disadvantages are working late hours, dealing with a stressful work environment, and inconsistent pay. To begin, being a bartender will have you putting in the late night work hours. Being a night owl is an understatement in this career. Many bars close in the early morning, and leave the bartender to clean up the trash and spilled drinks left behind. The last concern a barkeep would have is spending two hours cleaning after babysitting drunk customers all night. The bartender is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 7. Character Relationships In Star Wars Character relationships For stories that captivate the audiences, they need well developed plots with characters who have interesting relationships with each other. The relationships of the characters really drive the story because without the important relationships, there will not be a story. The three points where it seems that the relationships the characters have are important to the story would be in Star Wars, alien s relationships with humans, and in The Day After Tomorrow. There are many key relationships characters share in Star Wars that without them, the story would actually not have been a hit. Three of the relationships are Luke and Darth Vader, Luke and Han Solo, and Anakin and Obi won. Luke and Darth Vader have an interesting relationship. Since Darth Vader is in fact Luke s father but at the same time his enemy, it definitely draws the audience in to find out what happens next. It also makes the final battle scene in Star Wars: Return of the Jedihigh tension to see what will happen when Luke finally faces his father. Another relationship that helps the story would be Luke and Han Solo. This character relationship is about two friends. It is important to the story because Han Solo has gone out of his way to make sure Luke is alive, such as when Luke was left out in the cold on Hoth. If Han Solo did not have the urge to save his friend then there would be no story without the main character. Also, Han Solo and Luke fight side by side to fight the galaxy and

  • 9. The Intersection Of Information Laws Some of the issues that I would like to explore in this paper, are the intersection of information laws, and how they intersect with the ethical standards, and the actual practice. Since computers and technologies grow extremely fast, the laws are unable to govern new developments in the field. Therefor those that develop these systems and programs have an ethical imperative to, analysis the impact that these systems could have on others. When new technologies and standards are created, one must look at the effect of the technology, and the possible ways that someone could maliciously obtain, or misuse data. The only area in which the government gets involved in privacy collection is to enforce fair trade agreements, and practices that directly violate the terms of use agreement that exists between an end users and a company or group (Solove and Hartzog 585). In the European Union, the standards for privacy is vaguely worded, and only protects from the transmission of data to countries outside the EU (Sipior et al. 6) The major issue with this practice is many forms of gathering data, can legally be done so long as the end user has been informed of this practice, and has agreed to it (Warner 18). Most users however are not going to spend the time to actually read what they are agreeing to, and therefor will likely agree to something that they would actually object to (Warner 14). Obviously, in an ideal world, people would read everything that they are agreeing to, but the fact of the matter is that people will not. Knowing this, there is an obvious legal loophole that anyone wishing to do mine and profit from data gathered can easily exploit. Since the laws are not currently able to protect people from these practices, the ethical responsibility lies directly on the companies and programmers that write the software. These kinds of agreements that are imposed on end users in the form of end user

This included the Jews, Gypsies, homosexuals, Afro Germans, Slavs, communists, the handicapped, and the mentally disabled. These groups were targeted, stripped away of their rights and citizenship, and then sent to concentration camps. Some of these camps were death camps; created for the sole purpose to annihilate these groups of people, mainly the Jews. The Gypsies were so dehydrated and so desperate for water, they reportedly licked the floored after they had been mopped just to get a drop of fresh water. At Fort Ney near Strasbourg, France, Nazi doctors exposed roughly 52 concentration camp prisoners to the phosgene gas. This gas caused extreme irritation to the prisoners lungs. Many of the prisoners suffered pulmonary edema after the exposure. Four died as a result of the experiments. • 11. Dmitri Shostakovich s Accomplishments Dmitri Shostakovich Dmitri Shostakovich was a Russian composer. He was well known for his string quartets, concertos, and instrumental works that he composed, as well as for his numerous film scores, incidental theatre music, and ballets. Shostakovich is usually regarded as the greatest symphonist in the 20th musical achievements. However, even though Shostakovich was a famous musician, he was not projected to have a musical gift at an early age. Born in St. Petersburg on September 25, 1906, Dmitri Shostakovich was raised in a home where musicmaking assumed an important place (Fay 8). Despite the musical environment, Shostakovich s was not interested in music. According to Shostakovich himself, he didn t sneak to the door at three in order to listen to music (Fay 9), and when he did listen to it, he slept just as soundly as the night before (Fay 9). After Josef Stalin s denunciated Shostakovich for his Lady Macbeth in an essay published in Pravda, Shostakovich was transformed into a strange combination of non person and musical public enemy number one ( Kenneth Woods Conductor ). This symphony consisted of four movements and reflected his situation as an artist who would be judged by politics as much as by talent. The third movement of the piece is his most moving creation. He uses the orchestra with tremendous restraint ( Kenneth Woods Conductor ) as he does in the first movement by opening a long paragraph for strings ( Kenneth Woods Conductor ), and slowly introducing percussion and woodwind instruments. Then, Shostakovich begins the build up to the anguished emotional climax of the whole symphony, which makes this symphony well known even to this

Health Care Administration Career Over View HEALTH CARE ADMINISTRATION CAREER OVER VIEW The healthcare industry is so vast and so important to the well being of the U.S. economy that it should not come as a surprise that it requires competent administrators able to manage the day day operations of a medical facility, as well as provided leadership to the staff. In fact, health care Administration shares many similarities with other large scale business structures that require their mid level managers and executives to lead, and make difficult decisions when such needs to be done. However, in addition to knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and leadership principles, healthcare administrators also need to have an understanding of the healthcare industry as a whole, and their own role in the complex process of providing medical services to patients. • 14. Paper on Patents PATENT THE AUTOCRAT The very utterance of the word patent frightens us with the sheer complexity and wordplay it can subsume us with. Here is an attempt to demystify patents and the world of legal wrangling. As the lexicon definition goes, it is the exclusive right granted by a government to an inventor to manufacture, or sell an invention for a certain number of years . However, over the years, as patents and workarounds have evolved, companies have gone out of their ways to exercise monopoly over innovation and prevent competition from innovating in a related area of research and development. In the US, the International Trade Commission is the disinterested body which oversees trade and takes a final call over unfair trade practices. All patents have to go through a process of prosecution before being approved and pursued in a commercial setting. Patents are also governed by the purview of jurisdiction. In such a scenario, what may apply in The United States of America need not hold true in the United Kingdom. With that being said, patents have changed to become entities which prevent other people from doing . In other words, patents have regressed from being a mechanism to safeguard innovation to an instrument to cartel against opposition. As far as patents in the world of computers go, there are only hardware patents. There is no such thing as a software patent . Additional cause for concern is the fact that the boundaries between software and hardware are

By targeting such a substantial user base, well over ten million subscribers globally (408), an analysis of a discussion forum was conducted. Among the 2,000 posts in World of Warcraft, Steinkuehler and Duncan found a full set of analytic codes that can be placed into three categories: Scientific discursive practices, Systems and model based reasoning, and tacit epistemologies. These posts in the forum were found to build on the scientific habit of mind, and therefore illustrated Steinkuehler and Duncan s argument by presenting the evidence that, 86% of the WoW discussion forums consisted of talk that could be considered social knowledge construction meaning, the collective development of understanding, often through joint problems solving and argumentation. (412). Of that percentage, 28% of the posts made individuals used data or evidence of some form in order to warrant their claims. (412). • 16. Research Paper On Impulse Buying Impulse Buying Behavior Definition Impulse buying can be referred to as sudden unplanned decision to buy a product or service made specifically at the time of purchase. Rook (1987) explains impulse buying as Impulse buying takes place when a consumer feels a sudden often strong and insistent urge to purchase something instantly. The urge to buy is hedonically complex and often may fuel emotional conflict. Also, impulse buying is likely to occur with reduced concern for its consequences. Beatty Ferrell (1998) explains the concept of impulse buying by saying that it is immediate purchase of a product without any pre shopping intentions to buy. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, having an impulse to buy does not automatically imply acting upon it. Numerous factors may interfere between having the impulse to buy and actual buying, (Dholakia, 2000). In truth, individuals practice innumerable strategies to have some control on this craving (Hock and Loewenstein, 1991). This difference has also been validated empirically. For example, Beatty Ferrell (1998) empirically proved the compulsion to detach the impulse to buy from actual buying behavior with the help of admirable performance of model they presented when impulse buying was considered to be the only dependent variable. Likewise, prevailing researches (e.g. Beatty and Ferrell, 1998) also indicate that for buying impulse the determinants may not essentially predict impulse buying. It means that not every impulse to buy can be translated as an actual buying

Particularly, Law 218 If a surgeon has operated with the bronze lancet on a patrician for a serious injury, and has caused his death, his hands shall be cut off. If they cut the hands off the surgeons that killed someone, they will soon have no more people that would be willing to be surgeons. In particular, in Law 213 the slave is not worth was a higher class because if a man has killed a slave s baby, the man has to pay half the value of the salve or has to pay the slave owner. In my opinion that is considered rude to because the slave is treated like if she was not living, but in reality we are all treated equal and fair. In Law 199 it states that if a slave eye was knocked out the man shall pay half of his value. In my viewpoint I believe that the slaves are not worth the whole price. Hammurabi said that his code was meant to protect the weak, but most of the laws are more unfair for the slaves and lower class men then the upper class men, if a commoner were to commit a crime, their hands would be cut

The LDH isozymes also have different isoelectric points (pI) , giving a different net charge, therefore affects its migration rate. Conclusions: In our purification table, the purification that gave us the biggest increase in purity was the 65% cut pellet. Alliances During World War 1 Essay Alliances During World War 1 Although there were many underlying reasons for the European nations to break out in war, the early days of the fighting between Serbia and Austria caused the expansion of the war, along with the alliances which failed to remain peace and actually contributed to the war. Also, the possibility of remaining neutral and prepared is always another alternative, rather than forming allies that may require the nation to enter a war. A war between Serbia and Austria caused 7 nations to enter the fighting, justified by the reason of supporting alliances previously formed and underlying conflicts. Initially, World War I was spurred by the assassination of Arch Duke Ferdinand of Austria on June 28th of 1914... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By the end of all of the formations of alliances two powers emerged, the Allies, which consisted of Great Britain, France, Serbia, Russia, and Belgium, and the Central Powers which was Germany, Austria Hungary, and then later joined by Bulgaria and Turkey. These alliances did not maintain the peace in the least bit because if a war were to break out, it would involve all of the greater powers of Europe since the members of each group would feel the only right thing to do would be to support one another during the war. The alliances themselves actually contributed to the war because they caused more and more nations to enter the war as it progressed. The alliances formed ties between the nations that required them to support a country during a time of need, which in this case was war. The possibility of remaining neutral but prepared is always an option in time of war, although it may not work out that way. Several countries remained neutral, such as America, until the Germans declared unrestricted submarine warfare, causing the need to join the war. The Netherlands also remained neutral, along with the Dutch who opened their doors for Belgian refugees. Also, the Dutch sent food and clothes to the remaining Belgians as far as the Germans allowed them to. Those countries remained neutral, however they were not necessarily prepared for war. Remaining neutral yet prepared is a hard strategy to

The serenade of blasting classic opera music, which is played while the images of the shocking city are presented, makes the seriousness and dramatic quality. The rapid montage of imagery adds to the rush of adrenaline that is felt when you watch this scene. A police helicopter is shown hovering unsteadily in the air. Moreover, as if it is being shot from the helicopter, bird s eye view shots are taken with speed shots many long shots zooming into close ups as the panoramic view of the city is previewed. It is as if Verona is being shaken by the crime when the noisy helicopter makes the camera focus shaky. The fast editing which shows us police cars, people being chased and people being injured makes the upbeat anxiety more effective. Another aspect of the opening, which I found effective, is the voice over. Made to seem God like, it echoes the story in brief, in a somewhat worried and disappointed tone of voice. The pattern of violenceand its connection to the culture of the South makes a very compelling case for the values of the antebellum South, as they translate to a modern urban environment, where drugs and guns are readily available, and hope is fleeting, as a root cause in our culture s creation of violent sociopathic children like Willie Bosket. These exceptional qualities fuel the study of how the islands themselves were created, in order to answer the curiosities behind the composition of some of the most extravagant volcanoes in the world. III.History of the Hawaiian Islands The basic theory of plate tectonics says that all volcanic activity should occur between lithosphere plates (Physical Geology). However, the Hawaiian Islands bend this rule by being located directly in the middle of the Pacific plate. The Hawaiian volcanoes are known as intraplate volcanoes. This may not seem possible because it disrupts the rule of plate tectonics, but there s the exception of a hot spot. T. Wilson suggested that the Pacific plate moved in the northwestward direction over a melting spot deep within the mantle, and this hot spot remained relatively stationary and supplied magma to the moving Pacific plate to form the Hawaiian Island chain (Volcanoes in the Sea). In order to prove this suggestion, the structure of the Hawaiian Islands must be in line with a hot spot origin. This will be

These technologies offer breeders new pathways to meet goals and objectives over both short and long term periods. (Colliers Encyclopedia, 1996) Harold Jeffreys then argued that it is impossible for continents to break through solid rock without breaking apart. The saturation is thus identified as the intensity of colours in artworks which is ranged from pure colour to grey. A single colour is purer as the saturation increases, while the saturation decreases as the colour goes paler. The aim of this assignment is to describe and analyse the Fauves paintings, an artistic genre which speaks highly of saturation more than hue or luminance, as saturation could better express their personalities and feelings. The Fauvism was founded in 1905 in France by twentieth century modern artists. Unlike the others, the Fauvism could be absolutely deemed as a unique genre as it does not have special theory and principle yet is promoted by large numbers of artists in a short period (Freeman, 1990). This artistic style is in favour of creating a strong effect of paintings through bright and colours by announcing emotional expressionism. The Fauves absorbs the essence of Oriental and African arts, then crease a unique simple and sparse prospect on purpose. One of the most famous painting works named The Creole Dancer (as shown in Fig.1), painted by the greatest artist of the Fauves, Henri Matisse, is presented below and is to develop a demonstration of how saturation interferes differently (Roger, 2009).

Hauptmann s comprehensive version of the portrait of an artist helped Joyce develop his own interpretation. A further clarification was provided by the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzche (1844 1900). Joyce adapted Nietzsche s concept of the Superman in developing his portrait of an artist. Although Joyce rejected the Catholic Church all his life, Reynords, in Joyce and Dante: The Shaping Imagination clams that the Italian poet and the greatest of Catholic poets Dante Alighier (1265 1321) quot;whose influence pervades all Joyce s writing is never cowed by authority quot; (Attridge p. 56 57). Perhaps that is why Joyce was attracted to Dante s writing. amp;#9;Of all his literary countryman, the only Irish literary who s left a profound impression on Joyce was that Irish nationalist poet, James Clarence Mangan (1803 1849). In the short story quot;Araby, quot; Joyce pays tribute to the poet by naming the narrator s classmate, Mangan. Joyce identified with Mangen because of his linguistic skill and knowledge of the literature of Italy, Spain, France and Germany. Furthermore, Mangan was disdained by his Irish contemporaries a gesture Joyce considered an act of treachery. amp;#9;Joyce s use of the stream of consciousness technique first appeared record these epiphanies with extreme care, quot;seeing that they themselves are the moments. quot; (Kalasty, p.199) Although all the stories

Abraham Lincoln delivered his second inaugural address on March 4, 1865At a time when victory over secessionists in the American civil war was within days and slavery in all of the at this second appearing to take the oath of the presidential office, there is less occasion for an extended address than there was at the first. Then a statement, somewhat in detail, of a course to be pursued, seemed fitting and proper. Now, at the expiration of four years, during which public declarations have been constantly called forth on every point and phase of the great contest which still absorbs the attention, and engrosses the energies of the nation, little that is new could be presented. The progress of our arms, upon which all else chiefly depends, is as well known to the public as to myself; and it is, I trust, reasonably satisfactory and encouraging to all. With high hope for the future, no prediction in regard Union was near an
