Getting Baptized Experience
Getting baptized was an incredible experience for my sister and me. One or two years ago and
the place was at church and my house, this story starts when I was sitting in my room. I probably
was on my x box playing then my mom came in and said we are going to church then she
showed me a video of how to act when at church. Before going to church we had to get clothes
and what I got was a white shirt, black pants, and any color tie and a vest was optional. The first
time we went to church it was boring at first but it was kind of fun and exciting. After that we
were getting visits from the missionaries at our home and at the church and it was fun.

At our baptism my mom and my dad were there and they were very happy that we were getting
baptized and it was emotional, too. Getting baptized was the greatest experience that happened
in my life and the person that dunks you has to have the Melchizedek priesthood. I was dunked
three times, the first time I lifted up my legs, the second time he forgot to say the prayer, and the
third time I did not lift up my legs and the person that was dunking me said the payer and it was
amazing to get baptized. I keep going to church and scouts and I feel like they are my family and in
scouts we are getting new people and it is better because we have more people and it is more fun.
We keep learning about the church and our godand his gospel. I am very happy to go to church it
has really changed me and my family and I always felt that there was an empty spot and getting
baptized filled that spot and it has changed me ever since

Essay on Some Like It Hot
Some Like It Hot is an American screwball comedy film directed by Billy Wilder and featuring
Marilyn Monroe as Sugar, Tony Curtis as Joe, and Jack Lemon as Jerry. Joe and Jerry are
struggling musicians who accidentally witness a mob hit and become targets. To hide from the
mob, they flee the state as members of a traveling women s band, where further complications set
in. They quickly become besotted with the lead singer, Sugar, who in unable to recognize that her
band mates are really men masquerading as women.
Like most popular gender bending films, Some Like It Hot calls us to critique constructions of
sexuality and gender both within the context of historicized moment of the films production and
from the perspective of later ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The prohibition setting allows transgression to be seen as accepted and normal for ordinary people.
The criminalization of alcohols serves to demonstrate how personal choice can be incorporated
under institutionalized morality. Furthermore, the setting creates a distance between reality and the
subject of the film for the more conservative viewer, which is one of the justifications as to why
the film was done in black and white.
The film is a crafty combination of many components including a spoof of period gangster films,
romance in screwball comedies, and gender reversal and cross dressing. Evidently, one of the
major themes in the film is disguise and masquerade. In its time, Some Like It Hot was the highest
grossing comedy, one of the most successful films in 1959, and undoubtedly Wilder s funniest
comedy. The film was based on a German movie, Fanfares of Love, directed by Kurt Hoffmann
with similar plot elements borrowed by Wilder. The events in the movie were inspired by the
infamous St. Valentine s Day Massacre in Chicago. At the time of its release, the United States
was at the end of the repressive 1950 s and the studio system was weakened as a result of
censorship restrictions. The film received much criticism for its risquГ© subjects of double
entendre dialogue and gender bending theme. Wilder purposely challenged the system with Some

Pluralist Perspective On Sex And Sexuality
Sex and Sexuality: Understanding the complexity of the subject from plural perspectives
Sex and sexuality are very broad and complex subjects in the American society, as they are in many
jurisdictions. Sex and sexuality are intertwined to mainstream societal discourses such as morality
and ethics, law, justice and punishment religious and public policy matters. Sex and sexuality is
fast becoming a very complicated, controversial and complex subject in our contemporary society,
perhaps understanding sex and sexuality from a pluralistic perspective will be a better and more
pragmatic approach to deal with the related controversies on the topic.
Adopting a pluralistic approach can be beneficial to the society in many ways. First and foremost, it
is quite disturbing that sex and sexuality is one of the subject caught up within the perimeter of hate
crimes in the United States. Understanding sex and sexuality in the American society is from
pluralistic perspective is crucial because, discrimination and attacks on vulnerable individuals on
the account of their sexual orientation will be minimized, if the issues around sex and sexuality are
taken seriously and understood by many from plural perspectives.
Sex and sexual education is the provenance of understanding sex and sexuality from plural
perspective. Should sex education be made mandatory to teenagers in middle and in the high
schools and why? It is understandable that not every individual will support the idea that teenagers
should be taught sex education in schools, but the truth is that our kids are better off with
knowledge than being ignorant and I will explain my reason for this.
Moral decadence in our society and among the youths, is growing at an alarming and exponential
rate. It is factual, that many kids these days are susceptible to engaging in sex in their earlier ages
and are sexually active than kids from the older generation. Kids of this generation are sexually
active than the older generation because, they are exposed to materials with sexual heavy sexual
contents before they become of age.
Indeed, the exposure of many teenagers to materials with heavy sexual contents when they have
little knowledge about sex can be devastating and put

Pros of using violent imagery and language
It brings out the real meaning of the message he intends to pass across to the employees of Nokia
company. For example, when he says that the platform is burning while referring to Nokia, this
simply notifies the employees that unless they take the necessary actions to prevent Nokia from
collapsing, the company may not stand. There are many mistakes committed in the company which
must be arrested to prevent further damage.
The violent imagery awakens everyone to think outside the box immediately.
Cons of using violent imagery and language
The violent imagery may cause panic among the workers. Some of the employees can give up on
the company since it is already burning. The resulting demotivation can lead to further detrimental
effects than intended corrective steps.
Personally, I feel motivated when violent imagery and language is used in the memo. This approach
is unlikely to backfire because the facts are speaking loudly. First, the once leading Nokia company
has lost most of its customer base. Additionally, the management has been reluctant to provide
direction in the company. Additionally, the employees can also testify that Nokia has become
inferior compared to other competing brands on the market. Some of the employees in Nokia
company may be using the competitors brands at the time the memo was written. Therefore, the
memo pointed out what was obvious in the minds

Music Education In Music
The stigma associated with pursuing an education in the musical arts affects the decision of many
musicians nationwide. The appeal of guaranteed financial and career stability of STEM and other
paths of high demand jobs is very difficult to pass up, even by the most dedicated musicians. Then,
the input and advice of outsiders come into play. These onlookers not only encourage study of the
hard sciences and a foolproof path to success via university, but they also totally and blatantly
discourage and belittle the intelligence, rationality and integrity of not just the paths of musicians,
but all liberal artists. Don t you want to make money? What do you mean you won t have
internships, don t you want a job? How are you going to survive? This blitzkrieg of questioning and
doubt, though theoretically peripheral to the bigger picture, is reasonably common, however,
severely unjustified. Pursuing a formal college education in musicis easily one of the best things
you could do for yourself, regardless of whether or not this is the career path of your choosing.
As a student of formal music education, you are actually being trained in more real world skills
than most other majors, which will prepare you for many careers, making you stand out amongst
the masses. Being a music major, you learn more than just music, you learn problem solving
skills, how to communicate and collaborate, and how to overcome failure, which are all essential
skills to have as a professional in today s day

Grimm Godfather Death
The authors Jacob and Wilhem Grimm let the readers imagine real life situations that people
believe they face every day. The metaphor that they use is God, Satan and Death; these are all
things that we are faced with in our daily lives. The story Godfather Death is told in 3rd person
omniscient. Whereas, this story comes down to choices, these choices determine their fate. The
father has 12 children that he can hardly feed and provide for, so the man is out in the street
searching for the right person to be his 13th child godfather. The man was approached by GOD,
I do not wish to have you for a godfather, said the man. You give to the rich, and let the poor
starve. The man was approached by Satan, Then I do not wish to have you for a godfather, said
the man. You deceive mankind and lead them astray. Then Death comes along, I am Death, who
makes everyone equal. You are the right one. You take away the rich as well as the poor, without
distinction. I will make your child rich and famous, for he who has me for a friend cannot fail (13).
In general, peoplegreed, selfishnessand desire for power always cause them to lose everything. What
good does love, money, status, and power do, if a man loses his life?
The symbol death plays a major role in the story, a young doctor making bad choices when he had
been given the blueprint to success and happiness. There are roughly 3 stages throughout people

The Impact Of Ethical Culture In Human Resource Management
1. Abstract
This assignment reviews the producing and supporting ethical culture and the climate through
human resource management by conferring ethics in the business environment and examining
human capital influence in the equivalent situation. This assignment indicates different aspects of
ethical issues and challenges that occur in organisations and what human resource needs to do in
order to manage them in the same context. It also discusses the ethical decision making of
organizations in integrating the ethics into strategic human resource decision making process.
2. Introduction
Ethics are an important aspect in the life of individuals and business. They attempt to distinguish
right from wrong and good from bad. They constitute desirable conduct, moral codes, norms, beliefs
and practices. Ethical organizational culture and climate are important in order to guide ethical
employee behaviour in achieving organizational goals and objectives. Ethical policies, procedure
and practices on issues of employee ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A key consideration in the nature of ethics in the business environment is the core values that exist
in an organization. These are values articulated and reinforced by top management, imparted to new
members of the organization and spread throughout the organization. Organizational values have a
substantial influence on employee performance. Organizational values are communicated via
socialization and code of ethics. If people do not agree on or do not know the norms and values of
their organization then a weak corporate culture exists (Finegan, 1994). Chief executives must
communicate, encourage and show pride in the organization ethical standards to inspire and show
employees that the organization appreciates a person for acting in accordance with the standards.
Business ethics applies to all aspects of business conduct and

America and the Holocaust
America and the Holocaust With the liberation of the concentration camps at the end of WWII, the
issue at hand was what to do with the Jewish peoples with no place to go. In the month of March
1933, one of the first camps, Dachau, was opened. Dachau was a concentration camp, or a prison
camp maintained by the Third Reich, [the name for Germany when the government was controlled
by Adolf Hitler]. Aside these concentration camps was two other types of camps; labor camps, and
death camps. A main concentration camp was Theresienstadt. Theresienstadt was located in what is
now known as the Czech Republic. More than 150,000 were kept there for months until being sent
to their deaths in Treblinka and Auschwitz death camps. The people in... Show more content on

The doctors who examined the incoming prisoners and sorted them also worked in these
hospitals performing medical research on the ill. This medical research was mostly placing the
Jewish prisoners in ice water baths then monitoring them until they died. This research was
mostly used to prevent hypothermia if German Pilots ever ended up being stranded in the ocean.
Some of the experiments performed by doctors often had no research purpose at all, such as
experiments involving eye color changing using chemical droppers and the surgical sewing of
children together to create siamese twins. Auschwitz was the largest death camp with 20,000 Jews
being killed a day and 39 subcamps. The Nazi leadership aimed to deceive the German population,
the victims, and the outside world regarding their genocidal policy toward Jews. Positive stories
were fabricated as part of the planned deception. One book printed and distributed in 1941 reported
that in Poland, German authorities had put Jews to work, built clean hospitals, set up soup kitchens
for Jews, and provided them with newspapers and vocational training. By 1944 most of the
international community knew about the camps and were aware that the Germans and their axis
partners brutally mistreated prisoners although exact details about the living conditions were
unclear. The existence of the Nazi camps was known by most of the European governments long
before the beginning of World War II.

Orthopedic Physical Assessment and Physical Therapy Essay
In physical therapy, patients come to the clinic with a long list of symptoms and a specific
mechanism of injury. It is the physical therapists job to take this information and form hypotheses
of what pathology may be affecting the patient. With the patient that has been presented in this case,
a full history shows a very good description of symptoms and what the patient remembers happening
when the injury occurred. With this history, an examination plan can be created in order to make
this examination process thorough, but efficient.
A hypothesis that can be made from the patient s report is that she is suffering from cervical

possible. Red flag tests indicate if something potentially dangerous or life threatening is going on
with the patient. This will cause a physical therapy examination to stop and that patient may be
referred to their primary care physician for further care before physical therapy can proceed. These
tests include vertebral artery testing and cervical instability testing (Dutton, 2012). The vertebral
artery test rules out any blood supply being cut off to the brain (Magee, 2008, p. 150). In terms
of cervical instability testing, the transverse ligament and alar ligament tests should be done to
avoid any bones in the cervical spine moving out of place to damage the spinal cord (Magee,
2008, p. 180). When these two red flags are tested and found to be negative, the rest of the exam
can start. If they turn out to be positive, a referral back to the patient s primary care physician
should be made before any excursion of the cervical spine occurs. Active range of motion testing
with passive end feel testing should be done next. This will allow the physical therapist to observe
and feel the range of motion the patient is able to do. Also, the therapist will be able to note
motions that elicit pain and if radiating pain occurs. Next, muscle length testing will detect any
shortening due to the

Analysis Of The Other Side Of The Sky By Farah Ahmedi
Farah Ahmedi was a girl who was desperate to escape her war torn country of Afghanistan by
crossing the border into Pakistan. Annie Johnson was a fierce woman who wanted to support
her family by starting an intricate business that cooks meals for factory workers. The next
mission missionary was Theodore Boone who was a 13 year old boy who wanted to prevent a
bypass from being built through homes and farms, but not until his friend s farm was in the
danger zone. However, all three wanted to help, whether it was them self or others. Farah
Ahmedi was a woman who wanted to cross the border into Pakistan from Afghanistan. The story
The Other Side of The Sky, elaborates on this statement by describing Farah Ahmedi s life, the
author states, Their only hope was to escape to Pakistan (para. 3). This quote explains that Farah
Ahmedi did not want to leave the country out of her own choice, it was a necessary decision. Her
country was war torn, so she and her mom had no choice. After the very difficult and treacherous
journey to cross the border through the mountains on the border, and four years in Pakistan, Farah
and her mother were finally chosen to come to America. A quote from an interview with Farah
elaborates on this statement by stating, After four years of hardship [in Pakistan] she and her
mother are chosen to come to America. (authorlink 4). Just because Farah and her mother got out of
Afghanistan, didn t mean that the hardship was over. She had lost all of her family

First Opium War Research Paper
Good morning class and Mrs Bennett. The Hypothesis for this topic is that the First Opium War
caused problems in society because the criminal rate increased, as well as the local consumption of
the drug. This presentation will be discussing mainly what opium is, what the first opium war was,
and why it started. The Opium War was a battle in Chinathat occurred during the mid 19th century.
This war was between western countries, such as Britain, and the Qing Dynasty, which ruled China
between 1644 and 1911.
The First Opium War was conducted from 1839 to 1842, and was between China and Britain. The
reasoning for the war occurring was caused by China s attempts to withhold the Opium trade. It was
over diplomatic relations, trade, and the administration of foreign nationals in China. Opium was
illegally being imported into China, through India, by the British. They grew the opium on their
plantations in India. At first, the British were addicted to stimulating Chinese tea. Trade imbalance
occurred due to the Chinese buying few European products and demanding Gold or Silver in return.
The reverse flow of Silver and the increasing number of opium addicts alarmed Chinese officials,
and resulted in over 20,000 chests of opium to be confiscated. As opium was being imported into
china, it caused unrest in society, the local consumption to increase, and the decrease in the price of
the drug. Being a stimulant drug, Opium spread throughout the country, badly affecting its nation....

The Manipulation Of The Narrator In Wallace s Northanger...
To further paint Henry as an oppressive and antagonistic force, Wallace likens his reductive
generalizations to the narrator s reductive generalizations of readers. For example, Wallace
claims that at the beginning of Northanger Abbey, the narrator quickly posits two kinds of
readers, one the naive reader of romance who would expect a heroine to be an orphan and to
engage in the more heroic enjoyments of infancy, nursing a dormouse, feeding a canary bird, or
watering a rosebush, and the second a more sophisticated reader who rejects romance and who
knows a parody when he sees one (Wallace 262). According to Wallace, the narrator holds a black
and white view of readers, where there are only two categories: naive and sophisticated. Therefore,

According to Wallace, throughout the text the narrator has been trying to manipulate the reader s
expectations (Wallace 266). The idea of the narrator manipulating the reader s expectations
closely mirrors the idea of Henry manipulating Catherine s responses. Additionally, Wallace
claims that following these aggressive manipulations, both Catherine and the reader experience
doubts, instability, and lack of confidence (Wallace 266). Wallace even provides violent imagery
of both Henry and narrator as antagonistic oppressors, alleging that the language of struggle and
capitulation used in passages involving Henry and Catherine also demonstrates what the
authoritative narrator can do to an insecure reader, who may contend and resist but is eventually
made captive to the narrator s will (Wallace 268). Moreover, Wallace uses this language of
oppressor and oppressed engaged in a violent physical battle again when she describes the
relationship between narrator and reader as one in which the reader becomes an opponent who
struggles with the narrator for control over the text (Wallace 262). Through her diction, Wallace
illustrates images of both Henry and the narrator as violent and oppressive antagonists who force
Catherine and the reader into a position where they lose the ability to think for

The Attitude of a Hacker in Kevin Mitnick s The Art of...
Kevin Mitnick, The Condor, The Darkside Hacker, The greatest hacker alive, whatever name he
was given that pins him down as a perpetrator of the law, Kevin Mitnick still serves as an educator
to enthusiasts in the world of Information Security. He unveils many secrets of the hacker in The
Art of Deception. The Art of Intrusiontakes a different twist from its predecessor. It looks at the
attitude of the hacker and what drives them.
Personally the book lacked the full degree of intrusions one is capable of. Looking at the resume
Kevin Mitnick has, successful intruder, phenomenal social engineer, most wanted of the law, caught
and convicted criminal, security consultant and finally company CEO, one would have expected
his personal experiences and intrusions that finally landed him as the greatest hacker ever known
by the media. With this the book lacked some sort of uniqueness because it was based on other
stories of intrusions.
Mitnick took different stories and merged lots of information through them which in turn ended
up being more of an introduction course to types of security breaches than an in depth look at
how hackers can breach security. This showed some form of incompleteness especially to a
technical audience. For the non technical it serves as a good read but not much is learnt and
gained by the technical audience so I feel the target audience was blurred out. The stories seemed
very fictional which again raised the suspicion of whether they were really true or

Cabbage Root Fly
Biological Control of Cabbage Root Fly
Introduction
Biological control involves the use of living natural enemies to lower the population of a particular
pest species (Eilenberg et al. 2001). These natural enemies are called biological control agents and
can include viruses, bacteria, fungi, parasitoids, predators or competitors. Biological control is an
application of density dependence and population regulation and is one aspect of integrated pest
management. After the discovery of synthetic chemicals as controls, research into biological
controls received little attention; however it is currently gaining popularity. This is due to its many
advantages over other control methods, such as synthetic pesticides, and its few disadvantages. ...

Once implemented, the long term economic costs of biological control will often be lower than
alternative synthetic chemical controls because pesticides require repeated application for ongoing
efficacy. Biological control agents often exhibit high target specificity, unlike pesticides which often
result in non target organisms being affected. Pesticides can bioaccumulate and biomagnify in the
food chain and the chemicals can leach through the soil negatively affecting other organisms.
Biological controls will continually target the pest while not affecting other potentially beneficial
coexisting organisms. Unlike chemical controls, biological controls are self perpetuating, and the
pests upon which they are acting usually do not develop a resistance, or are slow to develop a
resistance. With proper research and understanding, the natural occurrence of biological controls
can make their use safer to humans and other organisms than that of synthetic

Egypt Vs Persia Research Paper
,Long ago there were two great empires: Egypt, and Persia. Both had great power, but lead
completely different lifestyles. Egypt was a grand society run by a god like ruler called a
pharaoh, and the other was a large empire who s society flourished due to its large military.
Many people may argue that Persia s great military made them a better empire to live in, yet
there are many facts in favor of Egypt, such as their lifestyle, treatment of citizens, and values.
While Persia may have been strong, the reason that Egypt was a better society to live in is
because Egypt had more respect for women, valued their family, and had more resources. Based
on this info, it is obvious that Egypt was a better society to live in that Persia. One reason that
Egypt was a better empire to live in was that their treatment of women was far superior that Persia.

The Impact Of Remuneration On The Workplace Essay
It is universally acknowledged that remuneration is the key to drive the employees to be more
productivity, enhance job satisfaction as well as the direction that determines the organizational
behaviour of one. In the early 1900s, Taylor (1903) suggested that financial incentives were
significant in improving efficiency of workers. However, the role of money has been revealed that
it is not the sole factor to improve worker performance, while other factors need to be considered, as
such human relations and social networks in the workplace, it is evident that these have become
more important nowadays. Motivationdefined by Kreitner (1995) is the process that gives
behaviour purpose and direction. It is also defined as psychological drives which determine the
behaviour, amount of effort put and degree of persistence in the face of obstacles (Kanfer 1990).
Motivation contains both intrinsic and extrinsic sources (Weddell et al. 2013 p228). Intrinsically
motivated behaviours are driven for self interest whereby extrinsically motivated behaviour is
performed to satisfy own materiality or social rewards or to avoid punishment (Weddell et al. 2013
p228). According to Herzberg s motivation theory (1968), intrinsic to work mainly promotes job
content which includes responsibilities, recognition, achievement, the work itself, growth and
advancement, extrinsic, on the other hand, refers to the context of the job which includes pay,

Racial Tension, Racial Tensions, And Dramatic Social Change
Turbulent times have engulfed the United States. Violent extremism, a stagnating economy, racial
tension, and dramatic social change have left Americans worried about the country s future.
Candidates from both major political parties pander to those concerns in hopes of ascending to the
presidency. None have capitalized on those anxieties more than Donald Trump. His promise to
restore the countries greatness is based on his ability to rid the country of its Alien problems.
Hearkening to a darker time, Trump has staked his presidential campaign on placing blame for
America s troubles at the feet of non Americans, specifically non white Americans. Reminiscent of
debate surrounding passage of the Chinese Exclusion Act, Trump s subtle use of racism to
galvanize support has threatened to set America back one hundred twenty five years and tear the
country apart.
Trump proposes radical change to standing immigration practice to relieve American anxieties.
During his announcement speech, he pointed the finger at Hispanic immigrants for much of
America s angst. Referring to them as criminals, Trump held non whites, from south of the U.S,
liable for what he claimed was America s decline. A few months later, in the name of national
security, he added Muslims to his list of those responsible for America s troubles.
Asserting the measure was necessary to keep Americans safe, Trump proposed a moratorium on all
Muslim immigration into the United States. In a written statement he

Richard Pryor Comic Style
Did you know that Richard Pryor was one of the most famous comedians of his time and is still
very well known? He was born on December 1, 1940, in Peoria, IL by his mother Gertrude L.
Thomas. As a young boy, Richard was raised in a brothel where his mother worked and was
doing things no young child should see, and he couldn t live with his father because he was a
treacherous pimp and was not fit to raise young Richard. As a boy, he was very fond of his
grandmother and that was one reason for his motherwas always gone and not really in his life and
his grandmother was the only adult really involved in his life. When he was only six years old
Richard was sexually assaulted by a neighbor, and he was also abused by a priest when he was an
altar boy.
Early in his comedian career, Richard was modeling his comedy, which was based mostly on Bill
Cosby s work. One of the main reasons he changed his comic style was from a performance in Las
Vegas when he saw Dean Martin in the crowd and in that moment he questioned what he was doing
and why he was doing it. So during the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Anne Bradstreet Influence
Anne was the first poet of America. Her writing style reflected things and events that occurred
during her lifetime. For her, writing poetry was an outlet for stress being that she was a Puritan
and they did not allow women to be educated. Anne Bradstreet s poems directly reflected her
emotions and how she processed the events around her. A lot of her poetryis sad and somber. Being
that she is a Puritan she has a lot of biblical references in her poems. In The Flesh and the Spirit
Anne takes these two objects and personifies them. She created an environment Where the Flesh
and the Spirit where two sisters arguing, Spirit says, Sisters are we, yea, twins we be, yet deadly
feud twixt thee and me; for one father are we not, thou by old Adam wast begot, (223) she tells the
sister that their feud has not been resolved. Flesh took interest with earthly things while Spirit
indulged in meditating and trying to get to heaven. Sprit mentions the old Adam part because the
Puritans thought that man lost to sin after the fall of old Adam but then man was redeemed when
Jesus was sacrificed.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Here follows some verses upon the Burning of Our House, July 10th, 1666 Anne wrote about
how she went to sleep she woke up as her house were burning down. She cried but then after it
burned down. She said I blest his name that gave and took, that laid my good now in the dust
(232) because she notes that those were God s possessions and not hers. Though she says this at
the end of the poem she lets readers know that she has not reconciled with her loss of possessions.
Though it seems like she submitted to God, she stills feel sorrow because of her house burning
down. Though Bradstreet is a Puritan and she has not lost her faith it does revel that she does have
some emotion attachment to earthly things. It just makes her have to be active in her faith so that

The Nazi Regime Essay
The Nazi Regime
In this essay I will be analyzing the statement; The most important reason why there was little
opposition towards the Nazi regime was because of its use of propaganda. In order to do this I will
explain how the Nazis actions and the events leading up to the war prevented opposition.
During the pre ww2 era and particularly in the 1930s Hitler focused a lot of his attention on the
propaganda surrounding himself and the policies of his Nazi party. A massive propaganda
campaign was launched which aimed to convince the German people that all the Nazis did was
right and good. The man behind this campaign was Josef Goebbles, a vain, ambitious, anti Semitic
womanizer. Geobbles ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Of course, Hitler seized on this event and claimed that a bolshevist revolution was underway in
Germany and that communist were attempting to seize power.
The church was also involved in opposing Nazi regimes. An organization called the confessing
church was formed. It spoke out against Nazism, how it infiltrated the church and the Nazi anti
Semitic policies. Members of the Confessing Church also helped approximately 2000 Jews escape
to freedom.
Probably one of the most significant and blatant acts of opposition towards Nazism occurred
during the latter stages of the war in July 1944 when a bomb plot executed by members of the
German army took place. The intent was to kill Hitler and hopefully end his regime, however the
plan failed and Hitler survived despite badly injuring his right arm. The plan was nicknamed the
Stauffenberg bomb plot.
Although the opposition instances mentioned caused the Nazis some concern, Goebbles and his
Nazi propaganda machine managed to overcome them. They did this by taking control of the
medial and cultural aspects of Germany to win over the German people. They also manipulated
events (e.g. the Reichstag fire) using propaganda to abolish any opponents who were seen as a
threat towards the Nazi power struggle. Goebbles fought for control of newspaper companies and
radio stations and hundreds of pro Nazi films were made. Germany

Claudia Valentine is a character that is an enigmatic and codified by the crime fiction genre. She is
cleverly introduced in such a manner which is stereotypical of the traditional hard boiled detective
with the alcohol, cigarettes and blonde in the bed. These crime fiction conventions re
contextualized her in terms of her gender so to explore a more sinister aspect of humanity and the
qualities that she possesses. Within Claudia, Day has created a strong and independent woman,
creating a new voice for females in crime fiction. This can be seen in the encounters between
Claudia and Dr. Angell, where she contrasts her personalities. In contrast to this, Day uses the
characterization of Harry to understand his motives in becoming a major technological criminal.
Through the monologues of Harry experiencing his mother being brutally murdered by the Nazis,
the schoolyard bullies and the alienation that he encountered when being a refugee; Harry

Kindertransport Research Paper
The Kindertransport was a series of transports from Nazi Germany to Great Britain that lasted
from 1938 to 1940. The Kindertransport was able to save over 10,000 jewish childrens lives
from the harshness of the Holocaust. The jewish children left their families and traveled to Great
Britain where they were placed with foster families or in group homes. There were many ways
that the children were transported. Also, there were many other outside forces that allowed for the
kindertransport to happen. After the children were brought to Great Britain, they lived many
different lives. Through the help of British Parliament and the forces of their allies, the

Ambulatory care is another term for outpatient services. Outpatient services consist of any health
care service which does not include an overnight stay in which room and board are incurred (Shi

The Enlightenment Period In America
Out of this week s reading, the one thing that I came to admire was the enlightenment period. The
Enlightenment period began because of small groups. Men would meet in coffeehouses and the
women would meet in salons. People could slow down, talk and dream. This caused a movement of
people taking their dreams and ideas to a reality. This movement sparked the future of the world.
This began the Scientific Revolution and the Glorious Revolution. With havening a movement of
this scale, it could not be contained to one place. It expanded to France and eventually the Americas
. The advancement in technology cased the western world to expand and lead to the form of the
Americas. People began to travel based on their enlightenment and need for freedom.

The Basel Committee On Banking Supervision
The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision has developed a regulatory capital framework for
operational risk measurement and introduced three approaches: the Basic Indicator Approach
(BIA), the Standardized Approach (SA) and the Advanced Measurement Approach (AMA).The
identification and measurement of operational riskcan be viewed as following either the top down
approach or the bottom up approach depending on the method used to calculate the risk charge. In
the top down approach, the financial data is extracted from the Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss
statement. This method may not result in the proper capturing of risks nor does it help in risk
mitigation. This approach corresponds with the Basic Indicator Approach and the Standardized
Approach of Basel IIAccord. The third approach of the Accord i.e. Advanced Measurement
Approach, is consistent with bottom up approach in which the regulatory capital requirement will
be defined by the estimate generated by the internal operational risk measurement system (Rajeev,
2004).
The Basic Indicator Approach (BIA)
The BIA is the simplest of the three approaches to calculate operational risk capital charge. This
approach uses a single indicator i.e. gross income as a proxy for a bank s overall operational risk
exposure. The bank is required to measure the average positive gross income over the previous
three years. The years with negative gross income are excluded. The gross income is computed as
net interest income plus net

Developing Private Label Between China And Uk Essay
In recent years, due to the change of own profit model, high inflation, increasing operating costs and
competition from online commerce, traditional retail businesses have grown slowly in China.
Chinese retail business, especially supermarkets need to be transformed and updated. Developing
private label brands is one of the most efficient ways to realise supermarkets transition and
updating, it could reduce costs and improve supply chain system. However, the development of
supermarket private labelin China is only in start up stage now which leaves plenty of scope to
learn from mistakes and successes from other businesses. The British retail market is the second
largest in Europe, and has the highest profit margins in the world. Its supermarket private label has
developed into a mature stage (Zhen, 2007). Since there are limited studies in the area of analysing
the gap between British and Chinese supermarket in developing private label, this study will help
to stop the gap in literature study of comparing the development of private label between China and
UK. In addition, it may predict the future developing trend of Chinese private label and benefit
Chinese supermarket managers on how to introduce more successful strategies of private label
products in further development on the basis of British experience.
The author chose this topic due to a personal interest on the development of supermarket, growing
up in a family where most members work in the retail industry.

The Housing Crisis Of 2008
During the early 2000 s, the United States housing market experienced growth at an unprecedented
rate, leading to historical highs in home ownership. This surge in home buying was the result of
multiple illusory financial circumstances which reduced the apparent risk of both lending and
receiving loans. However, in 2007, when the upward trend in home values could no longer
continue and began to reverse itself, homeowners found themselves owing more than the value of
their properties, a trend which lent itself to increased defaults and foreclosures, further reducing
the value of homes in a vicious, self perpetuating cycle. The 2008 crash of the near $7 billion
housing industry dragged down the entire U.S. economy, and by extension, the global economy,
with it, therefore having a large part in triggering the global recession of 2008 2012.
Contributing Factors
The housing crisis of 2008 can trace its origins back to the stock market trends of the mid to late 90
s. During a period of extended growth in the stock market, increased individual wealth among
investors led to generalized increases in spending, including in the housing market. With more
disposable income in the pockets of consumers, the demand for housing increased in the late 90 s.
Due to the fact that homes are large projects and their construction takes a large amount of time,
the supply of homes in the market is inelastic on the short term. Because of the fixed supply of
homes, as per the law of supply, which

Application For Peer Application Sharing Using Bittorrent...
ABSTRACT
The unique attributes of certain applications lend themselves amicable to the peer computing
model. Peer computing applications make efficient use of computing resources around the edge of
the network. The efficiency of peer computing networks is enhanced by the availability of higher
distributed storage capacity and computational cycles. Certain applications take advantage of direct
connection between peer devices, thereby improving the efficiency of the communication link. In
this paper, the working of the BitTorrentprotocol is discussed, along with the improved efficiency
in certain kinds of applications. This paper further talks about the usage of BirTorrent protocol over
local area network (LAN).

Peer to peer file sharing using BitTorrent protocol:
1.1 Problem Definition: A peer to peercomputer network uses diverse connectivity between the
different participants of the network. In a conventional network where centralized resources are
used, operations such as file sharing, telephony etc., are not performed efficiently. On the other
hand, a peer to peer network uses the cumulative bandwidth of the different participants, thereby
improving the overall efficiency of the network. The deep dive is focused upon the file sharing
aspect of the peer to peer networks. Fig 1.1 An example of peer to peer file sharing

The best way to prepare for a speech is to make notes, memorize certain parts, get the timing
perfect (SC4). Failure while giving a speech is something that without the proper preparation,
could very likely happen. Having small side notes written down while giving a speech are
crucial to help move along the process. Notes not only move along the speech, but they are used
as a guide as to what do say and talk about next. Memorization is one the biggest key components
about a speech: without memorization a speech will not come easy and someone could fail
without it (SC3). Timing is another one of the major key components of a speech (BE3). Along
with memorization, without timing the speech, it may not flow and could be confusing to the
audience. The best way to practice timing is to plan out your speech, focus on what needs to be
memorized, and time it from there. Nerves are something that everyone gets before giving a
speech, but others know how to control their nerves unlike myself. Nervous and worried, is
exactly how I go into every speech I give, wishing I could be confident and excited (BE1). The
best way to not be nervous is to take deep breaths, practice, and to accept the fear. Fighting nerves
isn t easy; breathing, is the easiest way (SC2). Before a big speech, when someone is nervous,
their muscles will tighten, but taking deep breaths to get oxygen to your brain will help relax the
body.

Due process rights are the cases a criminal litigant has when blamed by the legislature for an

2. Location, Location, Location
One of the biggest mistakes people make is finding a good deal and not realising that it s located
nowhere near where you want to be. If you re heading to London you don t want to find yourself
two trains away from the centre of the city! So, take time to look at a map and see where your
potential accommodation is located when compared to your ideal spot. This is especially true if
you re looking to rent a flat or a house. If you do choose somewhere out of the way, make sure
you know what public transport is available and how often it runs. Otherwise, you will need to
consider a car rental service.

DTCA Sales Promotion
Synapsis
Direct to consumer advertising of prescription medicines (DTCA) can be defined as an effort
(usually via popular media) made by a pharmaceutical company to promote its prescription
products directly to patients.[1] DTCA is prohibited in Canada, under two provisions in Food and
Drugs Act, which is enforced by Health Canada. Despite this prohibition, Health Canada currently
allows two forms of advertising that mention either the product (reminder ads) or the indication
(help seeking ads), but not both.[1,2] The United States and New Zealand are the only countries
where direct to consumer advertising, including full product claim ads, is legal.[1,2] The $395
billion US pharmaceutical industry spent $5.2 billion on DTCA in 2015.[3]

According to an Apr. 2013 survey, 68% of doctors agree that prescription drugs are marketed
before safety profiles can be known.[3] In response to the Vioxx recall from the market in 2004, it
was proposed to institute a mandatory waiting period for new drugs before DTCA is being
permitted. The Institute of Medicine (IOM) recommended a two year advertising moratorium to
conduct adequate post marketing safety surveillance.[1] The same approach could be adopted as a
policy in Canada, to ensure patient safety, while promoting consumer empowerment by enabling
them to participate in informed decisions about their health care with their doctors.
Option 3: Mandatory Pre clearance of Drug Advertising by Health Canada
Drug advertisements should be reviewed and pre cleared by Health Canada in accordance with
their mandates. They have to contain a fair balance of information be provided to consumers,[4]
and require the disclosure of risks that are common and significant, as well as those that are rare
but serious (for example, paralysis or death). Health Canada could impose a fee for this service to
be paid by the pharmaceutical companies.

Examples Of Escapism In The Glass Menagerie
Neil Gaiman, a renowned English author, questioned the thought provoking line, If you were
trapped in an impossible situation, in an unpleasant place, with people who meant you ill, and
someone offered you a temporary escape, why wouldn t you take it? Gaiman advocates towards
the idea of when life becomes stressful, people tend to find a temporary escape to alleviate
anxiety and avoid the harsh realities of the world. In his play, The Glass Menagerie, placed in
St.Louis during the Great Depression, Tennessee Williams creates a story that demonstrates this
theme of escapism. Tom Wingfield, an aspiring poet who steals away from his mundane life
with alcohol and going to the movies, narrates a memory illustrating the familial tensions
between him, his mother Amanda, and his younger sister, Laura. Amanda is stuck in an
imaginary time loop, constantly reminiscing about her golden days in Blue Mountain, where she
attracted seventeen gentlemen callers. Her state of mind was caused by her marriage to a man
who chose world travel over his family. Now, she takes comfort in governing her children s lives
and reliving her youth. Tom s extremely reserved 23 year old sister, Laura, has lived a reclusive
life due to insecurities about her limp. She seeks safety through tending to her treasured glass
menagerie and listening to music from a Victrola. Utilizing a myriad of recurring motifs such as
the Wingfield apartment fire escape and deception in his play, Williams spins a tale that

Pros And Cons Of Living In A Dystopian Society
Introduction
Utopias and dystopias are both literary genres that explore the social and political
structures of a specific society.
A utopia is a perfect world or paradise. It is an imaginary place where there is no poverty,
disease, discrimination or war. Utopias consist of peaceful governments that have ideal economic
and social conditions. All citizens are equal, there is access to education, and healthcare, and the
environment is safe for all that live there.
A dystopia is the opposite of utopia; it is an imperfect world where things have gone
wrong. In a dystopian world people are usually controlled by an oppressive government. The
government uses lies and propaganda to control the minds of the citizens. Many things are ... Show

A man named Hugh Conway
finds himself hijacked and whisked away to paradise: Shangri La, a place where the air is clean
and the living is natural and spiritual and, moderate. Shangri La is a place where people live
naturally long lives, hundreds of years, in peace, in love, and at one with nature. The defining
characteristic is inner peace, love, and a sense of purpose for those that can find it.
Another example of a utopia is The Giver by Lois Lowery. The Giver is the story of a
boy named Jonas that lives in a community that has converted to Sameness. In order to preserve
structure and order, things like color, climate, and memory, have been eradicated. Jonas is the
one person that has been chosen to store all the memories from the past, of the time before
Sameness. Jonas experiences a multitude of new thoughts, feelings and experiences as the
Receiver of Memory and he has to decide what to do with his new found knowledge. The
defining characteristic is that everyone is equal.
An example of a dystopia is The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. The Hunger Games
is a dystopia that is set in the country of Panem. Panem consists of citizens that live in

This is the first security check point after the passengers receive their boarding passes, and it
separates the passengers from the non passengers. It is one of the most important security
features, as right after this check point, the passengers have to go through the customs, and it
officially shows that they are leaving the country. Other security features includes the final
check at the arrival. At the arrival hall, there were two separate lanes to the exit, one for the
passengers with nothing to declare and the other one for passengers with items to declare.
Passengers are required to declare if they possess items that are prohibited in Singapore, such as
arms and explosives, bullet proof clothing, antique guns, toy guns and swords. Such items would
require authorisation from the Police Licensing Regulatory Department of the Singapore Police
Force. Another security feature would be the policemen armed and on patrol. With the
policemen patrolling, it would allow the passengers to feel safer and the police will be able get
to work as soon as possible, in case of any threats. The check in counters are one of the most
important security features as it is the first contact point with the passengers. The check in
counters are responsible for giving the right boarding passes to the right passengers, preventing
anyone that is not allowed to be on a flight to be on it. The increasing trend of self check in
counters may pose as threat or chance for terrorism as some people

The Paul Of The Apostle Paul
The apostle Paul was known to many as Saul of Tarsus. There is no doubt he was born to Jewish
parents whose residence was in the city of Tarsus of Cilicia. In the Book of Acts 23:6, his own
admission relates that he was a Hebrew of Hebrews, but he was also a son of a Pharisee. In Phil.
3:4 5, Paul states that he was from the tribe of Benjamin. At an early age, Paul was taught in tent
making according to Acts 18:3. At an early age, he was sent to Jerusalem to study under a well
known teacher by the name of Gamaliel (Acts 22:3). Paul was an expert in the Jewish religion,
which he followed through his family (Gal. 1:14). Once Paul graduated, he became a very
zealous religious Jew. The aim of Paul s trade was to see the church persecuted. In Acts 7:58 83,
readers are reminded that Paul was present when Stephen was stoned and killed. Saul carried a
warrant from the High Priest so he could go against the people of the early Christian church
(Acts 26:10 11). Paul might have been a Roman citizen, but he was cultured in the Greek way of
doing things. This can be found in Acts 17:28. Paul knew the mindset of many Greek thoughts
and sayings in his time. The conversion of Saul to Paul was a dramatic one. In one of his
missions on the road to Damascus, Paul encounters the risen Jesus Christ, which changed his
entire life from then on. He was never the same person that people had known before. Jesus enters
into Paul s life and he decides to dedicate the rest of his life for the service

Analyzing Abortion Essay
Analyzing Abortion In 1973, Roe versus Wade instigated an ongoing debate in the United States
concerning the implementation of abortion (Rubin 1). Prior to Roe, abortion was illegal, however
it was practiced. In 1846, a few blocks south of Manhattan s Greenwich Village, Madame Restell
performed illegal abortions to cure female irregularities, or pregnancies (Rubin1). After Restell, a
group called Jane , also known as the Abortion Counseling Service of the Chicago Women s
Liberation Union, performed more than 11,000 illegal abortions from 1969 73 in Chicago alone
(Horst 1). Though the Court decision lawfully settled the argument, the abortion issuedeveloped

As of 1997, 49 countries, including many industrialized European countries, have abortion
legislations similar to the United States (Henshaw et al. 58).
The abortion debate is controversial because it predominantly centers on society s religious and
moral beliefs. Religion is the leading variable of individuals opposing legalized abortion in the
United States (Kelley). Furthermore, Kristin Luker believes that the moral positions of activists
on both sides of the abortion issue reflect their individual worldviews on sexuality, family life,
technology and the importance of the individual; however, the pro choice and pro life movements
are not effective in changing people s moral beliefs on abortion (Luker). The key issue our
candidate must address is the federal government s participation in funding state sponsored sex
education programs and greater coverage of abortion costs.
The public s stance on abortion has remained relatively stable since the Roe decision. Fifty six
percent of the general public feels that abortion should be legal in certain circumstances such as
rape, incest or health complications. Overall, pro life advocates views on abortion tend to be
congruent across the board. Ninety eight percent of abortion opponents feel it is morally wrong in
all circumstances (Scott). However, the pro choice movement is more fragmented in its opinions.
Twenty seven percent of pro choice people support abortion even though they believe it is morally

The Theme Of Madness In Michel Foucault s Madness And...
Throughout the ages the topic of madness has been approached in many distinct manners. In the
comic book Batman: The Killing Joke especially in the scene presented in the stimulus above a lot
of attention is paid to Joker s lunacy. In this book, he is portrayed not as a complete and
indisputable madman but rather as a character banding the borderline between sanity and madness.
Such a situation evokes questions about the nature of madness and its understanding in our world.
From the philosophical perspective, this topic has been raised by numerous philosophers; among
whom Michel Foucault, in the book Madness and Civilization: A History of Insanity in the Age of
Reason, is the most famous for his critique of the post Enlightenment attitude... Show more content

He joins a small gang of criminals to make easy money. Before the day of the heist, his wife and
unborn child die in an accident. He is forced to commit the crime and in the middle of it is met
by the Batman. Startled, he falls into a vat of chemicals in the factory where the crime is taking
place and escapes it with already changed personality. From this moment, all his crimes are
motivated, among other reasons, by the need to cope with the reality around him. Such an
interpretation of madness is astonishingly similar to the one presented by Plato in Phaedrus. In
this dialogue, Plato discusses the relationship between madness, divinity, and love (eros). What is
formed by a combination of madness and love is a passion which is characterised as human
madness. On the opposing side, there is divine madness which Plato directly regards as a gift from
the god. Among this category, four different subtypes of madness are distinguished and one of
them can be read as a perfect justification of Joker s mental

Elements And Skills Used For The Creation Of The Props
This report will focus on the processes, materials and skills used for the creation of the props
seen and used in Warner Bros most successful movie series, the Harry Potter octalogy (See
Appendix 1). The Harry Potter series was originally seven children s book written by British
author, J.K Rowling. Rowling s books tell the tale of orphaned boy wizard, Harry Potter, who is
invited to an exclusive wizarding school, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Here, he

  • 2. Getting Baptized Experience Getting baptized was an incredible experience for my sister and me. One or two years ago and the place was at church and my house, this story starts when I was sitting in my room. I probably was on my x box playing then my mom came in and said we are going to church then she showed me a video of how to act when at church. Before going to church we had to get clothes and what I got was a white shirt, black pants, and any color tie and a vest was optional. The first time we went to church it was boring at first but it was kind of fun and exciting. After that we were getting visits from the missionaries at our home and at the church and it was fun. Missionaries are people that come from other parts of the world and spread the gospel to other people.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I was dunked three times, the first time I lifted up my legs, the second time he forgot to say the prayer, and the third time I did not lift up my legs and the person that was dunking me said the payer and it was amazing to get baptized. I keep going to church and scouts and I feel like they are my family and in scouts we are getting new people and it is better because we have more people and it is more fun. We keep learning about the church and our godand his gospel. • 3. Essay on Some Like It Hot Some Like It Hot is an American screwball comedy film directed by Billy Wilder and featuring Marilyn Monroe as Sugar, Tony Curtis as Joe, and Jack Lemon as Jerry. Joe and Jerry are struggling musicians who accidentally witness a mob hit and become targets. To hide from the mob, they flee the state as members of a traveling women s band, where further complications set in. They quickly become besotted with the lead singer, Sugar, who in unable to recognize that her band mates are really men masquerading as women. Like most popular gender bending films, Some Like It Hot calls us to critique constructions of sexuality and gender both within the context of historicized moment of the films production and from the perspective of later ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The prohibition setting allows transgression to be seen as accepted and normal for ordinary people. The criminalization of alcohols serves to demonstrate how personal choice can be incorporated under institutionalized morality. Furthermore, the setting creates a distance between reality and the subject of the film for the more conservative viewer, which is one of the justifications as to why the film was done in black and white. The film is a crafty combination of many components including a spoof of period gangster films, romance in screwball comedies, and gender reversal and cross dressing. Evidently, one of the major themes in the film is disguise and masquerade. In its time, Some Like It Hot was the highest grossing comedy, one of the most successful films in 1959, and undoubtedly Wilder s funniest comedy. The film was based on a German movie, Fanfares of Love, directed by Kurt Hoffmann with similar plot elements borrowed by Wilder. The events in the movie were inspired by the infamous St. Valentine s Day Massacre in Chicago. At the time of its release, the United States was at the end of the repressive 1950 s and the studio system was weakened as a result of censorship restrictions. The film received much criticism for its risquГ© subjects of double entendre dialogue and gender bending theme. Wilder purposely challenged the system with Some Like It Hot, filling it with sexual innuendos and stereotypes and a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Pluralist Perspective On Sex And Sexuality Sex and Sexuality: Understanding the complexity of the subject from plural perspectives Sex and sexuality are very broad and complex subjects in the American society, as they are in many jurisdictions. Sex and sexuality are intertwined to mainstream societal discourses such as morality and ethics, law, justice and punishment religious and public policy matters. Sex and sexuality is fast becoming a very complicated, controversial and complex subject in our contemporary society, perhaps understanding sex and sexuality from a pluralistic perspective will be a better and more pragmatic approach to deal with the related controversies on the topic. Adopting a pluralistic approach can be beneficial to the society in many ways. First and foremost, it is quite disturbing that sex and sexuality is one of the subject caught up within the perimeter of hate crimes in the United States. Understanding sex and sexuality in the American society is from pluralistic perspective is crucial because, discrimination and attacks on vulnerable individuals on the account of their sexual orientation will be minimized, if the issues around sex and sexuality are taken seriously and understood by many from plural perspectives. Sex and sexual education is the provenance of understanding sex and sexuality from plural perspective. Should sex education be made mandatory to teenagers in middle and in the high schools and why? It is understandable that not every individual will support the idea that teenagers should be taught sex education in schools, but the truth is that our kids are better off with knowledge than being ignorant and I will explain my reason for this. Moral decadence in our society and among the youths, is growing at an alarming and exponential rate. It is factual, that many kids these days are susceptible to engaging in sex in their earlier ages and are sexually active than kids from the older generation. Kids of this generation are sexually active than the older generation because, they are exposed to materials with sexual heavy sexual contents before they become of age. Indeed, the exposure of many teenagers to materials with heavy sexual contents when they have little knowledge about sex can be devastating and put ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Pros of using violent imagery and language It brings out the real meaning of the message he intends to pass across to the employees of Nokia company. For example, when he says that the platform is burning while referring to Nokia, this simply notifies the employees that unless they take the necessary actions to prevent Nokia from collapsing, the company may not stand. There are many mistakes committed in the company which must be arrested to prevent further damage. The violent imagery awakens everyone to think outside the box immediately. Cons of using violent imagery and language The violent imagery may cause panic among the workers. Some of the employees can give up on the company since it is already burning. The resulting demotivation can lead to further detrimental effects than intended corrective steps. Personally, I feel motivated when violent imagery and language is used in the memo. This approach is unlikely to backfire because the facts are speaking loudly. First, the once leading Nokia company has lost most of its customer base. Additionally, the management has been reluctant to provide direction in the company. Additionally, the employees can also testify that Nokia has become inferior compared to other competing brands on the market. Some of the employees in Nokia company may be using the competitors brands at the time the memo was written. Therefore, the memo pointed out what was obvious in the minds ... • 6. Music Education In Music The stigma associated with pursuing an education in the musical arts affects the decision of many musicians nationwide. The appeal of guaranteed financial and career stability of STEM and other paths of high demand jobs is very difficult to pass up, even by the most dedicated musicians. Then, the input and advice of outsiders come into play. These onlookers not only encourage study of the hard sciences and a foolproof path to success via university, but they also totally and blatantly discourage and belittle the intelligence, rationality and integrity of not just the paths of musicians, but all liberal artists. Don t you want to make money? What do you mean you won t have internships, don t you want a job? How are you going to survive? This blitzkrieg of questioning and doubt, though theoretically peripheral to the bigger picture, is reasonably common, however, severely unjustified. Pursuing a formal college education in musicis easily one of the best things you could do for yourself, regardless of whether or not this is the career path of your choosing. As a student of formal music education, you are actually being trained in more real world skills than most other majors, which will prepare you for many careers, making you stand out amongst the masses. Being a music major, you learn more than just music, you learn problem solving skills, how to communicate and collaborate, and how to overcome failure, which are all essential skills to have as a professional in today s day ... The man was approached by Satan, Then I do not wish to have you for a godfather, said the man. You deceive mankind and lead them astray. Then Death comes along, I am Death, who makes everyone equal. You are the right one. You take away the rich as well as the poor, without distinction. I will make your child rich and famous, for he who has me for a friend cannot fail (13). In general, peoplegreed, selfishnessand desire for power always cause them to lose everything. What good does love, money, status, and power do, if a man loses his life? That is why it is still important to perform red flag testing to keep the patient as safe as possible. Red flag tests indicate if something potentially dangerous or life threatening is going on with the patient. This will cause a physical therapy examination to stop and that patient may be referred to their primary care physician for further care before physical therapy can proceed. These tests include vertebral artery testing and cervical instability testing (Dutton, 2012). The vertebral artery test rules out any blood supply being cut off to the brain (Magee, 2008, p. 150). In terms of cervical instability testing, the transverse ligament and alar ligament tests should be done to avoid any bones in the cervical spine moving out of place to damage the spinal cord (Magee, 2008, p. 180). When these two red flags are tested and found to be negative, the rest of the exam can start. If they turn out to be positive, a referral back to the patient s primary care physician should be made before any excursion of the cervical spine occurs. Active range of motion testing with passive end feel testing should be done next. This will allow the physical therapist to observe and feel the range of motion the patient is able to do. Annie Johnson was a fierce woman who wanted to support her family by starting an intricate business that cooks meals for factory workers. The next mission missionary was Theodore Boone who was a 13 year old boy who wanted to prevent a bypass from being built through homes and farms, but not until his friend s farm was in the danger zone. However, all three wanted to help, whether it was them self or others. Farah Ahmedi was a woman who wanted to cross the border into Pakistan from Afghanistan. The story The Other Side of The Sky, elaborates on this statement by describing Farah Ahmedi s life, the author states, Their only hope was to escape to Pakistan (para. 3). This quote explains that Farah Ahmedi did not want to leave the country out of her own choice, it was a necessary decision. Her country was war torn, so she and her mom had no choice. After the very difficult and treacherous journey to cross the border through the mountains on the border, and four years in Pakistan, Farah and her mother were finally chosen to come to America. A quote from an interview with Farah elaborates on this statement by stating, After four years of hardship [in Pakistan] she and her mother are chosen to come to America. (authorlink 4). • 12. First Opium War Research Paper Good morning class and Mrs Bennett. The Hypothesis for this topic is that the First Opium War caused problems in society because the criminal rate increased, as well as the local consumption of the drug. This presentation will be discussing mainly what opium is, what the first opium war was, and why it started. The Opium War was a battle in Chinathat occurred during the mid 19th century. This war was between western countries, such as Britain, and the Qing Dynasty, which ruled China between 1644 and 1911. The First Opium War was conducted from 1839 to 1842, and was between China and Britain. The reasoning for the war occurring was caused by China s attempts to withhold the Opium trade. It was over diplomatic relations, trade, and the administration of foreign nationals in China. Opium was illegally being imported into China, through India, by the British. They grew the opium on their plantations in India. At first, the British were addicted to stimulating Chinese tea. Trade imbalance occurred due to the Chinese buying few European products and demanding Gold or Silver in return. The reverse flow of Silver and the increasing number of opium addicts alarmed Chinese officials, and resulted in over 20,000 chests of opium to be confiscated. As opium was being imported into china, it caused unrest in society, the local consumption to increase, and the decrease in the price of the drug. • 15. The Manipulation Of The Narrator In Wallace s Northanger... To further paint Henry as an oppressive and antagonistic force, Wallace likens his reductive generalizations to the narrator s reductive generalizations of readers. For example, Wallace claims that at the beginning of Northanger Abbey, the narrator quickly posits two kinds of readers, one the naive reader of romance who would expect a heroine to be an orphan and to engage in the more heroic enjoyments of infancy, nursing a dormouse, feeding a canary bird, or watering a rosebush, and the second a more sophisticated reader who rejects romance and who knows a parody when he sees one (Wallace 262). According to Wallace, throughout the text the narrator has been trying to manipulate the reader s expectations (Wallace 266). The idea of the narrator manipulating the reader s expectations closely mirrors the idea of Henry manipulating Catherine s responses. Additionally, Wallace claims that following these aggressive manipulations, both Catherine and the reader experience doubts, instability, and lack of confidence (Wallace 266). Wallace even provides violent imagery of both Henry and narrator as antagonistic oppressors, alleging that the language of struggle and capitulation used in passages involving Henry and Catherine also demonstrates what the authoritative narrator can do to an insecure reader, who may contend and resist but is eventually made captive to the narrator s will (Wallace 268). Moreover, Wallace uses this language of oppressor and oppressed engaged in a violent physical battle again when she describes the relationship between narrator and reader as one in which the reader becomes an opponent who struggles with the narrator for control over the text (Wallace 262). Through her diction, Wallace illustrates images of both Henry and the narrator as violent and oppressive antagonists who force Catherine and the reader into a position where they lose the ability to think for ... Looking at the resume Kevin Mitnick has, successful intruder, phenomenal social engineer, most wanted of the law, caught and convicted criminal, security consultant and finally company CEO, one would have expected his personal experiences and intrusions that finally landed him as the greatest hacker ever known by the media. With this the book lacked some sort of uniqueness because it was based on other stories of intrusions. Mitnick took different stories and merged lots of information through them which in turn ended up being more of an introduction course to types of security breaches than an in depth look at how hackers can breach security. This showed some form of incompleteness especially to a technical audience. For the non technical it serves as a good read but not much is learnt and gained by the technical audience so I feel the target audience was blurred out. The stories seemed very fictional which again raised the suspicion of whether they were really true or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 17. Cabbage Root Fly Biological Control of Cabbage Root Fly Introduction Biological control involves the use of living natural enemies to lower the population of a particular pest species (Eilenberg et al. 2001). These natural enemies are called biological control agents and can include viruses, bacteria, fungi, parasitoids, predators or competitors. Biological control is an application of density dependence and population regulation and is one aspect of integrated pest management. After the discovery of synthetic chemicals as controls, research into biological controls received little attention; however it is currently gaining popularity. This is due to its many advantages over other control methods, such as synthetic pesticides, and its few disadvantages. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Once implemented, the long term economic costs of biological control will often be lower than alternative synthetic chemical controls because pesticides require repeated application for ongoing efficacy. Biological control agents often exhibit high target specificity, unlike pesticides which often result in non target organisms being affected. Pesticides can bioaccumulate and biomagnify in the food chain and the chemicals can leach through the soil negatively affecting other organisms. Biological controls will continually target the pest while not affecting other potentially beneficial coexisting organisms. Unlike chemical controls, biological controls are self perpetuating, and the pests upon which they are acting usually do not develop a resistance, or are slow to develop a resistance. With proper research and understanding, the natural occurrence of biological controls can make their use safer to humans and other organisms than that of synthetic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many people may argue that Persia s great military made them a better empire to live in, yet there are many facts in favor of Egypt, such as their lifestyle, treatment of citizens, and values. • 20. The Impact Of Remuneration On The Workplace Essay It is universally acknowledged that remuneration is the key to drive the employees to be more productivity, enhance job satisfaction as well as the direction that determines the organizational behaviour of one. In the early 1900s, Taylor (1903) suggested that financial incentives were significant in improving efficiency of workers. However, the role of money has been revealed that it is not the sole factor to improve worker performance, while other factors need to be considered, as such human relations and social networks in the workplace, it is evident that these have become more important nowadays. Motivationdefined by Kreitner (1995) is the process that gives behaviour purpose and direction. It is also defined as psychological drives which determine the behaviour, amount of effort put and degree of persistence in the face of obstacles (Kanfer 1990). Motivation contains both intrinsic and extrinsic sources (Weddell et al. 2013 p228). Intrinsically motivated behaviours are driven for self interest whereby extrinsically motivated behaviour is performed to satisfy own materiality or social rewards or to avoid punishment (Weddell et al. 2013 p228). According to Herzberg s motivation theory (1968), intrinsic to work mainly promotes job content which includes responsibilities, recognition, achievement, the work itself, growth and advancement, extrinsic, on the other hand, refers to the context of the job which includes pay, company policy, administrative and so on. Being that she is a Puritan she has a lot of biblical references in her poems. In The Flesh and the Spirit Anne takes these two objects and personifies them. She created an environment Where the Flesh and the Spirit where two sisters arguing, Spirit says, Sisters are we, yea, twins we be, yet deadly feud twixt thee and me; for one father are we not, thou by old Adam wast begot, (223) she tells the sister that their feud has not been resolved. The Nazi Regime Essay The Nazi Regime In this essay I will be analyzing the statement; The most important reason why there was little opposition towards the Nazi regime was because of its use of propaganda. In order to do this I will explain how the Nazis actions and the events leading up to the war prevented opposition. During the pre ww2 era and particularly in the 1930s Hitler focused a lot of his attention on the propaganda surrounding himself and the policies of his Nazi party. A massive propaganda campaign was launched which aimed to convince the German people that all the Nazis did was right and good. Of course, Hitler seized on this event and claimed that a bolshevist revolution was underway in Germany and that communist were attempting to seize power. The church was also involved in opposing Nazi regimes. An organization called the confessing church was formed. It spoke out against Nazism, how it infiltrated the church and the Nazi anti Semitic policies. Members of the Confessing Church also helped approximately 2000 Jews escape to freedom. Probably one of the most significant and blatant acts of opposition towards Nazism occurred during the latter stages of the war in July 1944 when a bomb plot executed by members of the German army took place. The intent was to kill Hitler and hopefully end his regime, however the plan failed and Hitler survived despite badly injuring his right arm. The plan was nicknamed the Stauffenberg bomb plot. Although the opposition instances mentioned caused the Nazis some concern, Goebbles and his Nazi propaganda machine managed to overcome them. They did this by taking control of the medial and cultural aspects of Germany to win over the German people. They also manipulated events (e.g. the Reichstag fire) using propaganda to abolish any opponents who were seen as a threat towards the Nazi power struggle. The Basel Committee On Banking Supervision The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision has developed a regulatory capital framework for operational risk measurement and introduced three approaches: the Basic Indicator Approach (BIA), the Standardized Approach (SA) and the Advanced Measurement Approach (AMA).The identification and measurement of operational riskcan be viewed as following either the top down approach or the bottom up approach depending on the method used to calculate the risk charge. In the top down approach, the financial data is extracted from the Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss statement. This method may not result in the proper capturing of risks nor does it help in risk mitigation. This approach corresponds with the Basic Indicator Approach and the Standardized Approach of Basel IIAccord. The third approach of the Accord i.e. Advanced Measurement Approach, is consistent with bottom up approach in which the regulatory capital requirement will be defined by the estimate generated by the internal operational risk measurement system (Rajeev, 2004). This approach uses a single indicator i.e. gross income as a proxy for a bank s overall operational risk exposure. • 36. The Housing Crisis Of 2008 During the early 2000 s, the United States housing market experienced growth at an unprecedented rate, leading to historical highs in home ownership. This surge in home buying was the result of multiple illusory financial circumstances which reduced the apparent risk of both lending and receiving loans. However, in 2007, when the upward trend in home values could no longer continue and began to reverse itself, homeowners found themselves owing more than the value of their properties, a trend which lent itself to increased defaults and foreclosures, further reducing the value of homes in a vicious, self perpetuating cycle. The 2008 crash of the near $7 billion housing industry dragged down the entire U.S. economy, and by extension, the global economy, with it, therefore having a large part in triggering the global recession of 2008 2012. Contributing Factors The housing crisis of 2008 can trace its origins back to the stock market trends of the mid to late 90 s. During a period of extended growth in the stock market, increased individual wealth among investors led to generalized increases in spending, including in the housing market. With more disposable income in the pockets of consumers, the demand for housing increased in the late 90 s. Even though speeches are something I hate doing, I feel as though I learn something new each time I give a speech. The things I struggle with the most in giving speeches is the fearof being judged, the fear of failure, and how nervous I get before and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The best way to prepare for a speech is to make notes, memorize certain parts, get the timing perfect (SC4). Failure while giving a speech is something that without the proper preparation, could very likely happen. Having small side notes written down while giving a speech are crucial to help move along the process. Notes not only move along the speech, but they are used as a guide as to what do say and talk about next. Memorization is one the biggest key components about a speech: without memorization a speech will not come easy and someone could fail without it (SC3). Timing is another one of the major key components of a speech (BE3). Along with memorization, without timing the speech, it may not flow and could be confusing to the audience. The best way to practice timing is to plan out your speech, focus on what needs to be memorized, and time it from there. Nerves are something that everyone gets before giving a speech, but others know how to control their nerves unlike myself. Nervous and worried, is exactly how I go into every speech I give, wishing I could be confident and excited (BE1). The best way to not be nervous is to take deep breaths, practice, and to accept the fear. Fighting nerves isn t easy; breathing, is the easiest way (SC2). Before a big speech, when someone is nervous, their muscles will tighten, but taking deep breaths to get oxygen to your brain will help relax the body. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the Book of Acts 23:6, his own admission relates that he was a Hebrew of Hebrews, but he was also a son of a Pharisee. In Phil. 3:4 5, Paul states that he was from the tribe of Benjamin. At an early age, Paul was taught in tent making according to Acts 18:3. At an early age, he was sent to Jerusalem to study under a well known teacher by the name of Gamaliel (Acts 22:3). Paul was an expert in the Jewish religion, which he followed through his family (Gal. 1:14). Once Paul graduated, he became a very zealous religious Jew. The aim of Paul s trade was to see the church persecuted. In Acts 7:58 83, readers are reminded that Paul was present when Stephen was stoned and killed. Saul carried a warrant from the High Priest so he could go against the people of the early Christian church (Acts 26:10 11). Paul might have been a Roman citizen, but he was cultured in the Greek way of doing things. This can be found in Acts 17:28. Paul knew the mindset of many Greek thoughts and sayings in his time. The conversion of Saul to Paul was a dramatic one. In one of his missions on the road to Damascus, Paul encounters the risen Jesus Christ, which changed his entire life from then on. As of 1997, 49 countries, including many industrialized European countries, have abortion legislations similar to the United States (Henshaw et al. 58). The abortion debate is controversial because it predominantly centers on society s religious and moral beliefs. Religion is the leading variable of individuals opposing legalized abortion in the United States (Kelley). Furthermore, Kristin Luker believes that the moral positions of activists on both sides of the abortion issue reflect their individual worldviews on sexuality, family life, technology and the importance of the individual; however, the pro choice and pro life movements are not effective in changing people s moral beliefs on abortion (Luker). The key issue our candidate must address is the federal government s participation in funding state sponsored sex education programs and greater coverage of abortion costs. The public s stance on abortion has remained relatively stable since the Roe decision. Fifty six percent of the general public feels that abortion should be legal in certain circumstances such as rape, incest or health complications. Overall, pro life advocates views on abortion tend to be congruent across the board. Ninety eight percent of abortion opponents feel it is morally wrong in all circumstances (Scott). What is formed by a combination of madness and love is a passion which is characterised as human madness. On the opposing side, there is divine madness which Plato directly regards as a gift from the god.
