Windows 10 on Microsofti viimane versioon operatsioonisüsteemist, mis kunagi algas Windows 3.1-ga. Edaspidi väljastab Microsoft regulaarseid funktsionaalsusuuendusi ja turvaparandusi, jättes üldise kasutuskogemuse samaks. Kuni 29.07.2016 saab Windows 10 platvormile uuendada litsentsitasu vabalt (alates versioonist Windows 7).

Creating intelligent content: How to automate personalised, one-to-one market...Intergen
Now more than ever as organisations we need to accelerate our digital engagement and use our content intelligently, sensitively and helpfully.
One of the only ways to connect with customers is digitally, and so the challenge for us as brands is how do we deliver a relevant and engaging experience at scale? And, within that, how do we make sure that we're tailoring the right content, to reach our audiences in the right ways, at the right time?
In this webinar, we'll discuss the importance of personalisation in delivering an outstanding customer experience and the challenges marketers face when it comes to delivering true one-to-one personalised journeys. We will then look how Episerver's new Content Intelligence and Content Recommendations can, through the power of AI, help marketers gain deep content insights and automate true one-to-one, personalised marketing at scale.
The Coronavirus pandemic had a profound impact on the way we work. Almost overnight, organisations have had to learn how to work remotely – and collaborate effectively – often by the most expedient means possible.
The good news is that the flexible, remote working practices and tools that always seemed like a good idea in principle, have now been tested under extreme conditions and, in many cases, have been proven to be highly effective. To maintain the momentum and continue to realise the benefits, it's essential that we balance that flexibility and immediacy with governance and management. This is particularly true with 'easy to use' tools designed with user empowerment at their heart, such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom and others.
In this webinar, we explore common pain points and problems arising from the explosive growth of these tools and potential solutions to those problems. We will hear from Anthony Martino, IT Operations Manager at flybuys (Australia), on how they plan to balance user empowerment with effective governance and management. We will look at practical approaches available to all customers, to continue realising the benefits of flexible working in a secure, streamlined and controlled manner.

Business Change Management is more than just sending out a few emails, doing a bit of training and writing a new policy. It is about understanding the things that make the business unique, working with people to find out how the change will actually affect them and how they feel about it. You can then provide them with the right information and tools to comfortably and confidently transition to the new system.
Equally, it’s not a one off, hit and run activity. Supporting people as they transition to new ways of working should be ongoing throughout the life of a project and beyond.
This approach leads to the development of a change strategy, creation and delivery of communications and training resources, and the facilitation of all staff training.
Working with people to understand their needs and then coming up with practical and creative ways to address them allows you to come up with targeted approaches to getting people on board.
It’s hard not to be inspired by someone who is actually excited and committed to change. Alternatively, change is never successful when a solution is thrown in and people feel that leaders are ‘doing it to them, not with or for them’.
Enters InterConnect, a proven approach that focuses on what your business wants to achieve and then works with your people leaders to give them the skills and confidence to support their teams through the transition. The approach is based on having conversations, providing an open forum for teams to discuss the changes and giving your leaders the knowledge and skills to maintain the drive for change.
With more than 50,000 new malware created every day organisations can no longer afford to risk the financial and reputational impacts of a security or data breach, which can be too much for a business to recover from. Because of this, IT managers face increasing scrutiny and pressure from CEOs, managing directors and boards to prove that they are keeping the organisation secure.
The changing threat landscape means organisations need to be vigilant and smarter about security. While businesses still face threats from infected devices and malware, attackers have also moved beyond that. For example, there is an increasing number of targeted email attacks with cyber criminals spending time to monitor communications so they can imitate emails that are so sophisticated that even relatively savvy users will open them.
This webinar will explore the building blocks required to ensure you have the roadmap required to best protection against cyber attacks. We will provide you with a high level view of the following topics:
· Audit and discovery – What are your weaknesses and are you compliant?
· Education – Do your employees know when not to open that attachment?
· Policy – Do you have the right policies for your industry?
· Technology – Where to start and what has changed?

zkStudyClub - LatticeFold: A Lattice-based Folding Scheme and its Application...Alex Pruden
Folding is a recent technique for building efficient recursive SNARKs. Several elegant folding protocols have been proposed, such as Nova, Supernova, Hypernova, Protostar, and others. However, all of them rely on an additively homomorphic commitment scheme based on discrete log, and are therefore not post-quantum secure. In this work we present LatticeFold, the first lattice-based folding protocol based on the Module SIS problem. This folding protocol naturally leads to an efficient recursive lattice-based SNARK and an efficient PCD scheme. LatticeFold supports folding low-degree relations, such as R1CS, as well as high-degree relations, such as CCS. The key challenge is to construct a secure folding protocol that works with the Ajtai commitment scheme. The difficulty, is ensuring that extracted witnesses are low norm through many rounds of folding. We present a novel technique using the sumcheck protocol to ensure that extracted witnesses are always low norm no matter how many rounds of folding are used. Our evaluation of the final proof system suggests that it is as performant as Hypernova, while providing post-quantum security.

Bram Verhoef, Head of Machine Learning at Axelera AI, presents the “How Axelera AI Uses Digital Compute-in-memory to Deliver Fast and Energy-efficient Computer Vision” tutorial at the May 2024 Embedded Vision Summit.
As artificial intelligence inference transitions from cloud environments to edge locations, computer vision applications achieve heightened responsiveness, reliability and privacy. This migration, however, introduces the challenge of operating within the stringent confines of resource constraints typical at the edge, including small form factors, low energy budgets and diminished memory and computational capacities. Axelera AI addresses these challenges through an innovative approach of performing digital computations within memory itself. This technique facilitates the realization of high-performance, energy-efficient and cost-effective computer vision capabilities at the thin and thick edge, extending the frontier of what is achievable with current technologies.
In this presentation, Verhoef unveils his company’s pioneering chip technology and demonstrates its capacity to deliver exceptional frames-per-second performance across a range of standard computer vision networks typical of applications in security, surveillance and the industrial sector. This shows that advanced computer vision can be accessible and efficient, even at the very edge of our technological ecosystem.

Conversational agents, or chatbots, are increasingly used to access all sorts of services using natural language. While open-domain chatbots - like ChatGPT - can converse on any topic, task-oriented chatbots - the focus of this paper - are designed for specific tasks, like booking a flight, obtaining customer support, or setting an appointment. Like any other software, task-oriented chatbots need to be properly tested, usually by defining and executing test scenarios (i.e., sequences of user-chatbot interactions). However, there is currently a lack of methods to quantify the completeness and strength of such test scenarios, which can lead to low-quality tests, and hence to buggy chatbots.
To fill this gap, we propose adapting mutation testing (MuT) for task-oriented chatbots. To this end, we introduce a set of mutation operators that emulate faults in chatbot designs, an architecture that enables MuT on chatbots built using heterogeneous technologies, and a practical realisation as an Eclipse plugin. Moreover, we evaluate the applicability, effectiveness and efficiency of our approach on open-source chatbots, with promising results.

The global energy transition is placing new and unprecedented demands on Distribution System Operators (DSOs). Alongside upgrades to grid capacity, processes such as digitization, capacity optimization, and congestion management are becoming vital for delivering reliable services.
Power Grid Model is an open source project from Linux Foundation Energy and provides a calculation engine that is increasingly essential for DSOs. It offers a standards-based foundation enabling real-time power systems analysis, simulations of electrical power grids, and sophisticated what-if analysis. In addition, it enables in-depth studies and analysis of the electrical power grid’s behavior and performance. This comprehensive model incorporates essential factors such as power generation capacity, electrical losses, voltage levels, power flows, and system stability.
Power Grid Model is currently being applied in a wide variety of use cases, including grid planning, expansion, reliability, and congestion studies. It can also help in analyzing the impact of renewable energy integration, assessing the effects of disturbances or faults, and developing strategies for grid control and optimization.
What to expect
For the upcoming meetup we are organizing, we have an exciting lineup of activities planned:
-Insightful presentations covering two practical applications of the Power Grid Model.
-An update on the latest advancements in Power Grid -Model technology during the first and second quarters of 2024.
-An interactive brainstorming session to discuss and propose new feature requests.

Editor's Notes
Let’s talk about the best tablets for business and the improved user experience across form factors, including touch first tablets, and mouse and keyboard based desktops.

------
The UI on Windows devices continues to provide a fast and fluid experience. Enhancements available in the Windows 8.1 update focus across a wide range of areas including:
Start Screen improvements:
New large and small tile sizes allow you to design the start screen you want. Large tiles provide an extensive canvas for rich live tile updates and information. Small tiles allow you to increase app density where you want it.
Hero Search Experience
From PC files to web results, search, powered by Bing, provides a simple-to-read aggregated view. For many key search results Windows provides an integrated view of many content sources to provide the best “answer” for your query. With actionable links for most common tasks you do what you want to do rather then spend your time searching.
Enhanced windowing and multi-monitor support:
Enterprise users work on many tasks as once. Now you can have an infinite combination of apps, sizes, and positions across all of your monitors to meet your needs. From the task worker to the most demanding power users configure your apps and screens how you want them.
See desktop only when you need it:
With more settings in the modern PC settings and other enhancements you only need to see the desktop when you need it
Leave the desktop only when you want to
Want to stay in the desktop experience? With the new start button and enhancements to the desktop you can bring your start screen up right over your desktop background. Rather see the all apps screen when you press start? No problem, you can even reorder it by category, date installed, or name. You can also put your desktop apps at the front of the list. With Windows it doesn’t matter if you want to use touch or mouse and keyboard Windows works the way you want to work.
IT Start Screen Control
Set user’s start screen to corporate standards and lock it down. Want to change it later or have different start screens for different groups? No problem, since it based on group policy you can update it at anytime or set the start screen based on a users organizational group or other attributes.
Let’s talk about the best tablets for business and the improved user experience across form factors, including touch first tablets, and mouse and keyboard based desktops.
Regardless of scenario, Windows 8.1 provides choices for managing Windows devices that connect into your organization’s infrastructure. For organization-owned devices that are routinely connected to the internal networks, traditional enterprise management capabilities are provided using System Center or similar tools, providing full control and management of devices. For employee-owned devices that only access e-mail via Exchange ActiveSync, simple governance features are available to ensure that Windows devices are appropriately secured, providing the right amount of governance required. And now with the new open MDM capabilities, there is a middle ground for light control of BYOD Windows devices: using cloud-based MDM products, appropriate enterprise apps and settings (such as VPN and wireless profiles, as well as common security settings) can be made available to the devices, even when employee-owned.
Organizations can choose one or all of these solutions, depending on the scenarios that they intend to support – these are not mutually exclusive.
The mobile device management capabilities provided in-box in Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1 are based on the Open Mobile Alliance Device Management (OMA-DM) protocols. Windows devices can enroll with any MDM provider, such as AirWatch, MobileIron, Windows Intune, or any other third-party MDM product that understands how to communicate with the built-in OMA-DM protocols in Windows; no additional agents need to be installed.
These OMA-DM protocols are designed for secure communication with cloud-based MDM services, requiring little or no infrastructure investments for lightweight management of Windows devices, including employee-owned BYOD devices.
[Optional] The features provided by the OMA-DM implementation in Windows 8.1 include app deployment (sideloading), VPN and wireless profile management, settings configuration, compliance reporting and inventory, and software updates management.
Note to presenter: this slide is optional

Microsoft’s Unified Device Management Strategy
Empower Users. Enable IT to provide users with access to the corporate resources (including apps) they need on the devices they choose (including personal devices).
Unify Management Infrastructure. Reduce costs, maintain compliance, and improve IT efficiency by unifying management and security for PCs and mobile devices in a single infrastructure. System Center Configuration Manager 2012 SP1 and Windows Intune combine via a single admin console to help unify device management across a wide variety of device types.
- By combining Intune and System Center, customers can manage their existing Windows clients, Windows 8 and Windows RT device, and if required MAC OS, IOS, and Android (Exchange Active Sync).
- While System Center deep management functionality is the best solution for Windows 8, Windows To Go, and MAC OSX, Intune provides the management functionality for Windows Phone 8, iOS, and Android devices (Android via EAS). This enables customers to choose the right client for their needs without sacrificing management and security.
- With Intune, the infrastructure is based entirely in the cloud, so in effect all devices are managed remotely. This provides a very fast and simple implementation and also allows them to easily outsource the management of devices to a Microsoft partner located virtually anywhere.
Customers looking to manage across many devices and utilize a single administrative experience based entirely in the Config Mgr console, therefore they are able to manage all of those devices in a single management console.
Investments in Windows 8 and Windows 8., combined with ongoing improvements translate into strong enterprise scenarios for customers.
The priority for businesses that are still running Windows XP and Office 2003 is to migrate to a modern Windows operating system before Windows XP and Office 2003 reach the end of support on April 8, 2014
• Secondly, if customers are currently deploying Windows 7 and Office 2010/2013, we advise them to continue with those deployments, but simultaneously evaluate and pilot Windows 8.1 and Office 365 for mobile scenarios and tablet solutions. Customers deploying or developing apps for Windows 8 should continue as their investments will carry over to Windows 8.1 when available later this year.
• When refreshing hardware, we recommend customers to purchase Windows touch devices to ensure investments are future proof
• With the availability of Windows 8.1 preview we encourage all customers:
• Start to evaluate, test and pilot Windows 8.1 in their organization
• Also start evaluating Office 365 ProPlus
Target Windows 8.1 and Office 365 for all their tablet deployments
• Target Windows 8.1 and Office 365 ProPlus for adoption across all PC form factors in your organization, including desktops, laptops, all-in-ones and other form factors
• Evaluate the opportunity for their business with new modern Windows apps developing on Windows 8.1 platform
Windows 8.1 Enterprise features include all the capabilities that customers get with Windows 8.1, plus premium features designed to provide the mobile productivity, security, manageability and virtualization needs of today’s businesses. Here’s an overview of some of the key features that will be available exclusively to Windows 8 Enterprise customers (and note this is not an exhaustive list):
Start Screen Control allows customer to manage different start screen configurations for different groups or roles using Group Policy – you can imagine the scenarios this enables, particularly with devices in retail stores, etc.
As we mentioned previously, Windows To Go is a fully manageable corporate Windows 8.1 desktop on a bootable external USB stick. This will allow IT organizations to support the “Bring Your Own PC” trend and businesses can give contingent staff access to the corporate environment without compromising security. It is important to note that Windows To Go can only be used with active Software Assurance, but the Windows To Go Creator tool is included as an Enterprise Edition feature.
DirectAccess allows remote users to seamlessly access resources inside a corporate network without having to launch a separate VPN and helps IT administrators keep remote users’ PCs in compliance by applying the latest policies, software updates, is easier to deploy, and it can be implemented with the existing IPv4 infrastructure.
BranchCache allows users’ PCs to cache files, websites, and other content from central servers, so content is not repeatedly downloaded across the wide area network (WAN). When used with Windows Server 2012, there are several improvements to BranchCache to streamline the deployment process, optimize bandwidth over WAN connections and ensure better security and scalabilty.
VDI: Enhancements in Microsoft RemoteFX and Windows Server 2012, provide users with a rich desktop experience with the ability to play 3D graphics, use USB peripherals and use touch-enabled devices across any type of network (LAN or WAN) for VDI scenarios.
AppLocker can help mitigate issues by restricting the files and apps that users or groups are allowed to run.
Enterprise sideloading: Domain joined PCs and tablets running Windows 8 Enterprise will automatically be enabled to side-load internal, Windows 8.1 modern apps.
As previously mentioned, rights to Windows 8.1 Enterprise edition are included as a Windows SA benefit.
With the exception of our subscription agreements (OVS and EAS), Enterprise edition use rights are perpetual for the licensed device, even after SA coverage ends.
