Wi-Fi is a wireless technology that allows electronic devices to connect to the internet without wires. It was first implemented in 2005 in Sunnyvale, California and introduced in India in 2010 in Mysore. Wi-Fi has advantages such as low cost, wireless internet access, and high data transfer rates but also has disadvantages like difficult setup, security issues, and limited range. Health organizations have stated that Wi-Fi poses little health risks from radiation exposure.

devices (PC,Mobile phone,Audio player,Video game) to the
Internet.
 Wi-Fi = Wireless Fidelity.

 Outdoor – Airport, Institutions, Hotels, Bank etc.

5.  Client –to-Client connection without a Router.
 Like a Peer-to-Peer connection between two nodes.
 Disadvantage – Low transfer rate of 11Mbits/sec.

6.  World – In 2005 in the city Sunnyvale of
California(USA) first Wi-Fi technology was
implemented.
 India – In 2010 in Mysore this technology was first
used in India. Complete city was covered up by Wi-Fi.

7.  Cheep.
 Wireless Connection.
 High data transfer rate.
 Power saving mechanism.

8.  Difficult to set up.
 Security is breakable.
 No restriction can be applied to user.
 Transfer rate is not promissing in Ad-hoc technology.

 Outdoor – 95m(300ft)

10.  In the year of 2007 in Venezuela distance of 382km
from Mountain-top to Patilon 3MB data was transfered
through Wi-Fi.

11.  Few Wi-Fi users(about 725 till now) reported helth
problems using it.

same amount of radiation from a 20 minutes mobile
