Film trailers are short video sequences lasting 2-4 minutes that are released months before a film to entice audiences to watch the film. Trailers consist of selected exciting or noteworthy shots from the film edited together without spoiling the overall plot. Their purpose is to attract audiences and they are distributed widely on media like YouTube. The first film trailer was created in 1913 by Loews Cinemas to promote a film called "The Pleasure Seekers" and played before films, setting the standard practice still used today of previewing trailers before movies.
