I am on my way to the New England Baseball Complex in Manchester. It is early
August, and the end of the regular season. It has been an unusually lengthy season
and I am ready for it to be finally over. I have traveled all over New England and have
visited many different states. Baseball is my first sport, the sport I focus on the most
throughout the year. Baseball has always been my favorite sport ever since I was
little. My dad taught me to play when I was around 6 and I have played extensively
every year since. I looked up to my brother a lot growing up and I remember
playing with him when I got home from school. My family was always there for

a right to die (345). This end statement makes the readers wonder about what could
happen to them if they ever get put into this position. Putting this sentence at the end
makes the essay more influential. Meanwhile, the story builds up to the sentence, and
then that sentence leaves the readers wondering, and thinking about our right to die.
For the most part, Huttman s essay was exceedingly entertaining and I enjoyed her
work. Huttman used suspense and emotion throughout the entire piece. Huttman
explains, Each time he stopped breathing, sometimes two or three times in one day,
the code, the code team came again (343). Significantly, this sentence plays the
reader s emotion by showing how often Mac would pass away. Another example that
shows that this is entertaining is, I thought about what it would be like to stand
before a judge, accused of murder, if Mac stopped breathing and I didn t call a code
(Huttman 344). No doubt, this draws interest to the storyline and

I cringe every time I hear it. Also, it brings mixed emotions because historically it
has not worked out to well for my people. If anything, it exacerbated the situations
that plagued the lives of many citizens who are making an honest living and
wanting to be a good citizen. Oh, if you did not know what I was talking about here
it is, Trump s problematic talk of fixing the carnage in the inner cities that affect
African Americans. True, it is a problem in the inner cities, but there are reasons for
that. Let us look at the poor education, lack of good job opportunities, and the

However, that is where I draw the line. Trump s dystopian viewpoint of African
Americans in inner cities is wrong. He continues to report about the country s crime
and wants to bring back law and order back. Yeah, whatever that means, you mean
the huge number of minorities in prisons, or the unfair criminal laws such as the
infamous 100 1 sentencing disparity for people caught with crack cocaine vs.
powder cocaine. He may be referring to that, and I defiantly say no. In addition, I am

Council Grove Mentees Essay
Physical, Cognitive, and Social Development of Council Grove Mentees Every
other Tuesday, the students of the Southern Nazarene University Honors Program,
myself included, goes to Council Grove Elementary School and mentors First
graders for an hour. My mentees names are Alex and Kyriece. Both are bright

But it s what they don t think about is what is striking. They don t think about
potentially hitting someone, or what another person would think. They don t
worry about a teacher seeing them pushing paper off the edge, because the teacher
isn t there. They can t see the teacher there so they can t think about getting in
trouble. I ran an experiment with Alex and Kyriece, both having to do with their
level of understanding conservation of mass. Conservation of mass is a test that
helps to see if a child is in a preoperational phase, or in concrete phase of developing.
The most famous test is placing two lines of an equal number coins in front of a
child. The lines need to be made of the same size coins and must be arranged to be
the same length. Then ask the child if one line has more coins in the line, or if they
had the same amount. Then stretch the second line of coins to make the line longer,
but without adding any more coins. Then ask which line has more coins, the first line,
that has the original length, or the second line, that has been stretched out to be

Lobotomy Video Analysis
After watching the videos on lobotomy and the treatment of those with mental
illnesses and after reading chapter 1, I definitely have some mixed reactions. First,
I thought the videos were very fascinating but also very hard to watch and very
disheartening. It s amazing to see how the treatment of those suffering from mental
illnesses has improved in recent years, but it s also unbelievable that some
treatments were ever used. I am not a doctor and do not have any medical training,
but it s hard to believe that making people have seizures and go into a coma was a
beneficial way to treat mental illnesses. It s also hard to wrap my mind around the
fact that someone would ever intentionally put something into someone s brain to
