Essay My Role Model
Crafting an essay on the topic "Essay My Role Model" presents a unique set of challenges that
requires a delicate balance of personal reflection, thoughtful analysis, and effective
communication. The difficulty lies in the intricacies of delving into one's own experiences and
emotions to extract meaningful insights about the chosen role model.
Firstly, identifying a suitable role model is a task that demands careful consideration. Whether
it's a public figure, a family member, or a friend, the selection process involves a deep
introspection into the qualities that make someone worthy of emulation. This introspection can
be emotionally taxing, as it may involve revisiting personal experiences and memories that have
shaped one's perspective.
Once a role model is chosen, the challenge is to articulate the reasons behind the selection.
Expressing admiration and explaining how the role model has influenced personal growth
requires a nuanced approach to language. Striking the right tone becomes crucial, as the essay
should convey sincerity and authenticity without becoming overly sentimental.
Furthermore, maintaining a coherent structure while navigating through the complexities of
personal anecdotes and reflections is no small feat. The essay should seamlessly transition from
introducing the role model to illustrating specific instances that highlight their impact. Balancing
the personal and universal aspects of the narrative adds an additional layer of difficulty, as the
essay should resonate with a broader audience beyond the writer's individual experiences.
Additionally, finding a fresh perspective and avoiding clichГ©s in a topic that inherently
involves a level of sentimentality poses a creative challenge. Striving for originality while staying
true to the essence of the relationship with the role model requires careful thought and
craftsmanship.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of one's role model is a task that demands a
combination of introspection, emotional engagement, and effective storytelling. It is a
challenging endeavor that requires a writer to navigate the delicate balance between personal
reflection and universal appeal.

The Pros And Cons Of The Sons Of Liberty
As Colonial America grew in size and power during the 1700s, there also grew
increasing tensions between colonists and the British Empire ruling over them.
Originally, the colonies were a place of religious freedom and of new beginnings for
the immigrants sailing across the Atlantic Ocean from Europe. As population and
economy grew, so did the presence of the British Monarchy. The colonists began to
revolt against the overbearing laws of Parliament, engaging in various acts of violent
protest, leading to the American Revolution. Behind these revolutionary efforts was a
secret organization known as the Sons of Liberty. Famous members like Samuel
Adams, John Hancock, Benedict Arnold, and Paul Revere banded together to
organize in places like the famous Liberty Tree and taverns across the city of
Boston to plan out their attacks, remaining anonymous to the colonies and the
government. Starting the revolutionary hub of Boston, the group later expanded to
New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Philadelphia during the sparks of
revolution across the colonies. There is great controversy over whether or not the
Sons of Liberty were a patriot organization or a terrorist organization. Patriotism is
defined as having great love and support for their country, whereas, terrorism is
defined as the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, especially political
purposes. Based on their actions and characteristics, there is greater evidence proving
the Sons of Liberty should be
Taking Up A Dark Path
I could count on one hand how many times I drank before college so I wasn t
prepared for what was in front of me. Sitting on my college roommates desk were a
few shot glasses with Burnets. I didn t plan on drinking, but desperate for my
roommate to like me, I accepted a few shots. The alcohol hit me fast and hard and
changed my life forever. Sitting in my desk chair was the girl that would soon be
my best friend for the next year and a half, Savannah. Little did I know, I would go
down a dark path. Every weekend I would party with her. I loved life. My sense of
responsibility and doing what was best for me diminished. I had grown to love the
partying lifestyle and never wanted the party to stop. Around finals everyone was
buying Adderall. I had never done a drug before besides an antibiotic. I took a pill
the day of my Biology exam. I figured Adderall metabolized quickly and left the
body. Dead wrong. I knew nothing about drugs. That night I partied. At first I was
having a blast. I was laughing and dancing my heart out. Three hours later, I lost
all ability to control my legs. I could not feel them nor could I put pressure on
them. The mixture of Adderall and alcohol could have done permanent damage but
at the time I didn t care. I had to be driven home and carried inside. The whole time
I thought the situation was amusing. It was the first time I had ever blacked out.
After Christmas break I was exposed to Marijuana. Since the plant was legal, no

The Second Alliance And The Triple Entente
The time leading up to the first world war was a time of make alliances. These
alliances started out as small agreements between countries turned into a force that
divided the major powers of Europe into two alliances. These alliance were the
Triple Alliance and the Triple Entente. Agreements made within these alliances
help to pave the way to the war. The first of these alliances that was formed was the
Triple Alliance. It was formed in secrecy in may of 1882. This alliance was made
up of Germany, Austria Hungary, and Italy. (Kann) Although Germany and Austria
hungary were allies before the formation of the Triple Alliance, Italy was not added
into the Alliance until they wanted assistance with France. France at this time beat
out Italy in obtain some of North Africa. (Britanica) The terms of this alliance were
that if Italy was ever attacked by France, Germany and Austria Hungary would come
to its assistance. It also stated that, if Germany was attacked by France then Italy
would come in to help them. Finally they agreed that Italy would have to stay neutral
if Austria Hungary ever got into a war with Russia. The alliance was renewed again
in the february of 1887. This time, in addition to the agreements that were already
made, Germany told Italy that it would help them in North Africa ( even though they
never had any intentions of doing so). Germany also convinced Austria Hungary to
continue their alliance with Italy even during the dispute over land they were

Explain The Eight Stages Of A Criminal Trial
The stages of a criminal trial lead a proper renewed fair way to process a person who
has committed a crime within our judicial system. The eight stages of a criminal trial
consist of trial initiation, jury selection, opening statements, and presentation of
evidence, closing arguments, judge s charge to the jury, jury deliberations and the
verdict. In my viewpoint the most impactful stages are the trial initiation, jury
selection, evidence and verdict. These stages allow a time frame for everyone take
action, which ultimately leads to proof of what a person may or may not have done.
The principal of a criminal trial is the verdict, which states a person to be innocent or
guilty, the whole point of a criminal trial.
The trials initiation is
Five Reasons To Suspect You Have Leaky Pipes
5 Reasons to Suspect You Have Leaky Pipes
Leaky pipes are one of the most common threats homeowners face. In fact, leaky
pipes are one of the most common home insurance claims made year after year.
However, when it comes to water leaks, you don t have to be a sitting duck. Leaky
pipes don t happen in a vacuum. The following are five reasons to suspect you have
a leaky pipe. If you notice any one of these signs around your home, contact your
local plumber immediately and avoid water damage that can lead to insurance claims.
Reason #1. Mold and Mildew Signal Leaky Pipes
Bacteria are constantly in the air. If you add moisture and warm temperature to the
equation, then you have the perfect setting for mold and mildew. Finding mold
around your home ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Barring increased water usage, if you notice an increase in your water bill, then it s
likely you have a leaky pipe. WaterSense, an EPA partner, estimates that fixing a
leaky pipe can save homeowners 10% on their water bill.
Reason #3. Water Stains Are Around Your Water Heater
If you rely on a water heater to heat your home, then you know how important it is to
your home. Tons of water flow through your water heater to your shower, tub, and
your kitchen sink. Although it s designed to handle a lot of water, your water heater
could begin to leak. If it does leak, you ll notice water stains around your water heater.
At the first sign of a leaky water heater, you must contact your plumber to minimize
the potential for damage.
Reason #4. Damage to Your Cabinetry Should Tip You Off
Many homeowners are guilty of stuffing cleaning supplies and other items underneath
sinks. In most homes, chemicals abound underneath both the kitchen sink and the
bathroom sink. Unfortunately, the congestion underneath the sink can lead to leaky
pipes. If you notice an odor once you open your cabinet or you notice the wood
inside your cabinet is warped, then you should suspect you have a water
Lena Horne
Singer/actress Lena Horne s primary occupation was nightclub entertaining, a
profession she pursued successfully around the world for more than 60 years, from
the 1930s to the 1990s. In conjunction with her club work, she also maintained a
recording career that stretched from 1936 to 2000 and brought her three Grammys,
including a Lifetime Achievement Award in 1989; she appeared in 16 feature films
and several shorts between 1938 and 1978; she performed occasionally on
Broadway, including in her own Tony winning one woman show, Lena Horne: The
Lady and Her Musicin 1981 1982; and she sang and acted on radio and television.

did not bring in much money, and in 1938, when Horne was approached by an
agent with an offer to co star in a low budget all black movie musical with a mere
ten day shooting schedule in Hollywood, she accepted. The film was The Duke Is
Tops, released in July 1938. Later in the year, Horne was asked to take on a more
time consuming project, a part in a new mounting of producer Lew Leslie s all
black musical revue Blackbirds. Again, she accepted in the name of increasing the
family income, spending months in rehearsals and out of town tryouts before Lew
Leslie s Blackbirds of 1939 opened on Broadway on February 11, 1939. One of Horne
s numbers was You re So Indifferent, written by Sammy Fain and Mitchell Parish, a
song she would keep in her repertoire. The show ran only nine performances, closing
February 18.
Horne returned to Pittsburgh, where she temporarily separated from her husband,
then reconciled with him. She began taking singing engagements in the homes of
wealthy families in the area. She also became pregnant again, and her son, Edwin
Fletcher ( Teddy ) Jones, was born in February 1940. That fall, she made a final
separation from her husband (they were formally divorced in June 1944) and moved
to New York to restart her career. In December, she accepted an offer to join the
Stanley Lord s Guilty For The Death Of The Titanic
The Titanic was the biggest ship then but it went down faster than anyone would
have expected. One iceberg took this humongous ship down on April 15, 1912.
This shipwreck is known as one of the worst things to happen in history. The
Titanic held many people, but could not save as many that were on the ship. Who
is to blame? Now with the evidence provided below we know who is guilty for this
horrible travesty of 1,500 death. It is Stanley Lord. He is guilty because he ignored
signals for help, he broke the law by not going to help, and he could see the signals
and decided to ignore them and lie about if he saw it or not.
For one thing, Lord ignored the signals for help when he could have went to the
wreck to help save people. The text states, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The text states, ...failed to respond in accordance with the dictates of humanity,

Californian must have seen the the distress rockets fired from the bridge of the

law. If Stanley Lord would have obeyed the law, he could have saved many lives and
not been committing a crime.
Above all, Stanley Lord could see the signals just didn t respond and denies ever
seeing them, but it was late so even if he was far away he could have seen it. The
text states, ... that the Titanic s lights were visible to the Californian before she struck
the iceberg, and that the Californian must have seen the distress rockets fired from
the bridge of the Titanic. The text also states, We told them we were surrounded by
ice. This proves that he would have had to see the signals and there is no excuse
for him to not come and help because he said he saw the signals but then gave an
excuse for why he could come and then later says that he didn t see the signals. He is
trying to find a million excuses and contradicts what he lied about
African Elephants
African Elephants:
Guess what can weigh about 3 cars and can be 13 feet tall? The African elephant.
The height and size difference is not the only way you can tell the African and Asian
elephants apart, another way is by the ear shape. They are shaped like the land of
Africa. The African elephant is also the largest mammal to live on land.
Their Body:
African elephants body is large in size, has big ears, and a long trunk. A full grown
one can weight about 6 tons and is 13 feet tall. They have teeth on the inside and
the outside of their bodies! They have only four on the inside and two on the
outside of their mouths. The teeth that are on the outside of their mouth are called
tusks and they weigh about 40 to 44 pounds for a female but the largest one
recorded was 220 pounds. However, the teeth on the inside weigh about a much as a
brick! They use their ears to cool themselves when they get hot by flapping them.
Another way they stay cool is by spraying themselves with water because they start to
feel unbearably hot a lot sooner than a human. The African elephant is able to live in
dry or hotter climates because their bodies can go without water for a long time. The

Chemical Reaction Lab Report
Matter is anything that has mass and takes up space. During the late eighteenth
century, scientists began to use qualitative tools to study and monitor chemical
changes. By carefully measuring mass before and after many chemical reactions, it
was observed that, although chemical changes occurred, the total mass involved in
the reaction remained constant. Assuming this was true for all reactions, chemists
transformed this observation into a scientific law; the law of conservation of matter,
which states that mass is neither created nor destroyed during a chemical reaction, it
is conserved. In other words, the mass of the reactants equals the mass of the products.
Chemists classify chemical reactions in order to organize many reactions that occur
daily. Knowing the categories of chemical reactions can ... Show more content on

The synthesis reaction between sulfur dioxide and oxygen can also be classified as
a combustion reaction, in which oxygen combines with a substance and releases
energy in the form of heat and light. It occurs between hydrogen and oxygen when
hydrogen is heated. Water is formed during the reaction and a large amount of energy
is released.
Some chemical reactions are the opposite of synthesis reactions, they are classified as
decomposition reactions, in which a single compound breaks down into two or more
elements or new compound.

In contrast to synthesis, combustion, and decomposition reactions, many chemical
reactions are replacement (also called displacement) reactions and involve the
replacement of an element in a compound. There are two types of replacement
reactions; single replacement reaction, in which the atoms of one element replace the
atoms of another element in a compound, A + BX AX + B; and double replacement
reactions, in which an exchange of ions between two compounds is involved,

Internal Controls and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 Essay
In order to be successful in business, a company must be able to track their assets.
This tracking system is typically done by a bookkeeper and must be reliable in
order to be effective. The way a company ensures their financial records are reliable
is by setting up a system of internal controls. Internal controls allow a company to
protect its assets from fraud and theft as well as ensuring records are kept accurately
by reducing errors and irregularities (Keisco, Kimmel and Weygandt, 2008). Internal
controls work by assigning responsibility, separating duties to provide checks and
balances, hiring an independent verification agent and through the use of technology
and physical controls. In many instances, internal controls are... Show more content

al., 2008). Internal controls are regulated by the Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002. This
act assigns responsibility for a company s internal controls on its executives and
directors (Kiesco et.al., 2008). This assignment of responsibility forces the company
to use effective internal controls by making a certain group responsible. The act also
established the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board which regulates the
activities of auditors. Together, assigning responsibility and defining the standards
of auditors, the Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002 helps to safeguard a company s
investments, assets and future successes by discouraging fraud and theft. A company
that follows the requirements of the act insures to investors that their reporting is
accurate. However, a company whose internal controls show deficiencies, or who
chooses not to follow the Sarbanes Oxley requirements provides no insurance to
investors that their reporting is accurate. This would cause investors to sell their
stock and new investors to avoid the company because of the potential that reports
are inaccurate. Stock prices would, in turn, suffer as confidence in the company s
financial practices and reporting is questioned. With all the insurances provided by
internal controls and Sarbanes Oxley, a company still faces issues with accuracy in
bookkeeping records and accounting. The human element required intrinsically by the

Comparison Between Nicaragua And Costa Rica
This comparison is between Nicaragua and its neighbor to the south, Costa Rica.
Both countries became independent from Spain in 1821. While both are republics,
Costa Rica is a democratic republic, and while they share a common border, their
health care is worlds apart. The major reason for this may be sanitation. In urban
areas, Nicaraguahas a sanitation rate of 63.2%, whereas Costa Rica has 94.9%. This
disparity is even greater in the rural areas where Costa Rica has a sanitation rate of
92% and Nicaragua has a rate of 37% (United States. Central Intelligence Agency,
2016).
Both Nicaragua and Costa Rica provide universal healthcare to their citizens, Costa
Rica has a much more robust system. The infant mortality rate is 20.36 deaths per

This can serve a dual purpose in improving the health status of their citizens. The
government is making Wi Fi accessibility an important feature of this network. Due to
the extreme poverty in the rural areas, many individuals have smart phones the also
serve as their computers, which they can use as their internet servers. Citizens can
then use this ability to get information and stay in contact with their healthcare
providers.
The technology also offers the providers with an efficient way to communicate with
higher level of providers to augment the services that they can provide. The
connectivity also enables the use of telemedicine. With this ability they can connect
with any collaborator in the world to read test results and make recommendations on
treatment. This greatly expands the range of services on healthcare provider can offer.
There are many international agencies and organizations that can cooperate to
address the health care issues of Nicaragua. The World Bank and International
Monetary Fund can supply funding for additional health care professionals, as well as
speed up the establishment of the required telecommunications infrastructure. The
World Health Organization can assist in putting together collaborative groups to
assess and then address the needs of the country. The Gates Foundation can supply

Tampa Bay Water is a seawater desalination plant located...
Tampa Bay Water is a seawater desalination plant located in Tampa, Florida. Their
method of desalination of ocean water or brackish groundwater is another method to
obtaining water from fresh surfaces or groundwater sources. This could be used to
replace the need for a water supply dam. There are several different technologies that
exist to remove salt and other impurities from ocean water. The two most commonly
used methods are thermal distillation and desalination. Thermal distillation copies the
natural water cycle by using heat to create a vapor that is converted into freshwater.
Desalination is a process that removes some amount of salt and other minerals from
saline water. The traditional process used is vacuum distillation, which... Show more

The major advantage of dual purpose facilities is they can be more efficient in
energy consumption, allowing for desalination to be a more viable option for the
production of drinking water. The advantages of desalination represents an
opportunity to use oceanic water resources. If the appropriate conditions are
present, a desalination plant could potentially be used to replace an existing or
future dam. As existing sources of useable water run dry, desalination is a very
effective, alternative source of water. On top of that the distillation process
produces one of the highest quality water, with a range of 1 to 50 ppm tds, tds is
also known as total dissolved solids. With the recommended California standard
being 500 ppm, this quality of water is far beyond any other water quality seen
before. The disadvantages of desalination is that in order for a desalination plant to
be a viable alternative to the water supply dam, the users must be located fairly
close to a coast or large source of oceanic water. The desalination technology can
also have adverse environmental impacts of its own. The plants are very energy
intensive and must dispose of a highly concentrated saline byproduct into the ocean,
which can cause adverse affects to marine life in the surrounding and exceeding
areas. Waste brine can also

Analysis Of Sandberg s Lean On Dig Deep
Sandberg s Lean In vs. Hook s Dig Deep are two articles that are similar, but they
have differences. Sandberg s main point is that women are over looked for
executive job positions, and there is extreme sexism in play, while most job fields

class citizens, and are only worth to either stay at home and cook and clean. She
makes a great point by giving a personal example, when she stated that her

positions in their field. There are more females that are nurses than males in

throughout her life and they became self fulfilling prophesies . I agree with
Sandberg fully because there are many people will say Women cannot drive or
Women are only good at being servants, which includes cooking, cleaning, and
other daily household chores . While that is not true at all, women are grouped by
a statistic. Simply because women are often skilled at cooking and cleaning, does
not mean that is their goal or what they aspire to become. There are a plethora of
women who will not cook, clean, or serve men, period. There has been women that
arose to great heights. They had to beat the odds, ignore statistics, and in some
cases fight their oppressors. I disagree that women should be looked upon as
second class citizens, I have known the women that I personally meet to be very
wise and educated. Then there is this ancient stereotype that a woman could not

another thing some men truly believe, in which I feel is a very ignorant one. Not

Female Offenders And Male Offenders
Statistics show that the number of female offenders in the legal system has been
increasing steadily. The number of female offenders entering the American justice
system is growing at a rate faster than males. Statistics from the United States in 2010
show the female offender population to be increasing by 2.7% each year, compared to
the male population at a rate of 1.8% each year, with similar statistics being seen in
other Western countries (West Sabol, 2010). The continued increase has made
understanding female offenders and their catalysts for committing crimemore
imperative.
Despite the general consensus that the number of females involved in crime is
continuing to rise, males are still the dominant gender committing crimes, especially
for violent offences. This may be why there is a continued lack of research on
female offenders using a gender specific approach that accounts for gender
differences. Historically, female offenders have been primarily studied using a
gender neutral model comprising mainly male offenders. Although there is support
that a gender neutral model can effectively apply to both male and female offenders
(van der Knaap et al. 2012), there has been an ongoing debate on whether the
pathways and processes that lead to female offending can be successfully explained
and ultimately applied to interventions and preventions by using theories originally
created to explain male crime (Steffensmeier Allan, 1996).

CHAPTER TWO
LITERATURE REVIEW
2.1Introduction
Concrete is widely used in the construction industry and it forms the backbone of
modern infrastructure. Traditional vibrated concrete has limitations which brought
about the invention of self consolidating concrete. These two concrete types have
similar constituent materials but their mix proportions are different, in that SCC has
more powder content, less coarse aggregate content, smaller coarse aggregate size and
admixtures are used. Both concrete types are susceptible to physical and chemical
attacks. The magnitude of these attacks depends on the properties and quality of the
constitutive concrete ingredients, and the placement methods used.
This literature review provides the necessary information on concrete technology in
general with emphasis laid on the materials used for its production. The basic
engineering properties of both TVC and SCC are looked at and a comparison of
their mix proportions is done. The mixture proportioning and acceptance criteria for
SCC is presented with a brief description of the evaluation methods used.
2.2Concrete Technology
Concrete is a sophisticated composite material that is continuously being improved
and modified. Its basic constituents however have remained unchanged. These
include, aggregates, water and a binder which could be ordinary Portland cement.
The aggregates are usually rock, sand and/or gravel.
Portland cement is the most widely used binder. It is a fine granular
Delia Jones Quotes In Sweat
Zora Neale Hurston portrays Delia Jones as a hardworking Christian woman who
is a washwoman for white people in the South. Delia is a washerwoman fighting to
keep her house and her sanity ( Sweat ). She takes great pride in her job even when
her husband insists on her stopping. In the short story her husband demands her to
quit her job. He calls her a hypocrite for doing the wash of the white after she has
just attended church. When Delia is not fazed by his words and continues washing
the clothes, he becomes very angry and ruins the clothes she put so much time into.
He stepped roughly upon the whitest pile of things, kicking them helter skelter as he
crossed the room. His wife gave a little scream of dismay, and quickly gathered them

The bullwhip represents Sykes s power over Delia. It s an illusion to the main
symbol in which Delia is most terrified of, the snake. On a Sunday, as she washes,
she is confronted by something that reminds her of the snake, which scares her. It is
actually her husband s whip (Jones). In this part of the novel, Sykes places the whip
on Delia s shoulder to affirm his dominance. A great terror took hold of her. It
softened her knees and dried her mouth so that it was a full minute before she could
cry out or move (Hurston 1). This shows the effects of the whip on Delia and how

began when the Thirteenth Amendment was ratified, completing the Emancipation
Proclamation, it abolished all slavery throughout the United States. Although, it did
not resolve the legal status of former slaves under federal and state law. After the
Civil War, Black Codes were created by many of the southern states designed to
severely restrict the lives of newly freed slaves and keep them in virtual slavery. It
soon began clear that the Thirteenth Amendment was not enough to protect the rights
of former slaves. As a result, Congress drafted the Fourteenth and Fifteenth
Amendments to the constitution. The Fourteenth Amendment nullified the Supreme
Court s decision in Dred Scott, granted former slaves citizenship, and promised equal
protection of the law by prohibiting states from making or enforcing any law that
abridges the privileges or immunities of citizens or denies due process. The Fifteenth

Free Settlers In Australia
Australia was first claimed by Captain Cook in early 1770, but it wasn t settled
until 1788 when the first fleet of 11 ships arrived at Botany Bay, carrying 1,530
passengers mostly convicts, as well as some marines and officers. They moved to
Port Jackson to begin establishing a settlement. Specific prisoners were chosen for the
trip, the ones with skills in building, farming and other things that would have been
useful to create a liveable environment for the new inhabitants. The first free settlers
only arrived in 1793, thus beginning the colonisation of New South Wales.

35 peaceful Aborigines were camped near the Myall Creek cattle station when most
of them were slaughtered. For the first and only time in Australian history, the white
gang was arrested and 7 of them were charged with the murder of Aborigines, and
hanged.
As a result of the Europeans killing their people and stealing their land, the
Aborigines did fight back. Even though settlers seemingly had much better weapons,
Indigenous Australians had a much better understanding of the land they lived on and
had other means of resisting the ways of the Europeans. Pemulwuy, for example, was
respected by both his people, and the white men who opposed him. He fought for the
lives of his people, to protect them and preserve the beliefs and practices that the
Europeans wanted to eradicate. The Indigenous Australians culture is still often
taught and practiced these days, so even though Pemulwuy was murdered in 1802,
along with many others, the impact of their efforts was necessary for the
development of the Australian multicultural society.
The many differences between Europeans and Aborigines were often cause for major
conflicts between the two

The Lexington Muslim Community Ever since moving here from Saudi Arabia, I
have been a member of the local Muslim community. I did all the normal things a
little Muslim boy does. I went to Sunday school, I attended Friday prayer with my
father, and I had Muslim friends. As I grew up, I stopped attending Sunday school, I
only went to Friday prayer when school was out, and I grew apart from my
childhood Muslim friends. Yet I was, and currently am, a part of the Muslim
community. A community which encourages a person to relax their mind and soul
through prayer. While this is all great, there are some interesting aspects of the
Muslim community that I am not completely familiar with. One such topic includes
the various methods in which the Muslim community reaches out to the general
public with a positive message. This sort of thing is a necessity due to the recent rise
of Islamophobia, not only with the conservative crowd, but with the liberal crowd as
well (Bayoumi 132). Islamophobia is fundamentally a prejudice against Islam and
Muslims. It exists within the US in almost every corner of the country. According
to Moustafa Bayoumi, the reasoning behind islamophobia is based off of facts and
ideas which could be easily discredited with a basic understanding of Islam
(Bayoumi 132). Any given Muslim community obviously doesn t want people to
harbor a dislike for them; they want to do what they can to be seen as a
Summary Between Lord Of The Glies And Lord Of The
Flies
Early man set up civilizations so future generations could live in peace and survive
in their surroundings. As early man developed civilizations, they contained five
characteristics. Three of the five are complex institutions, specialized workers, and
record keeping. Complex institutions are organizations like government and
religious organizations. Specialized workers are people like teachers, soldiers, and
priests. Finally, cuneiform tablets were used in record keeping to keep track of
rules and trade. The characters in Lord of the Flies mirror early man s
development through complex institutions, specialized workers and record
keeping. The boys in the novel Lord of the Flies mirror the development of early
man through complex institutions when they appoint a chief. In the historical
fiction novel, Clan of the Cave Bear, the text reads, the leader of the small clan...
(Auel 12). In the Lord of the Flies, after being called to the beach by the conch, the
boys vote for a chief to lead the mass of boys on the island similar to the early man
leader portrayed in Clan of the Cave Bear (Golding 22). The connection between
these texts demonstrates that the boys are going through the same development
phase as early man did. In both Lord of the Flies, and Clan of the Cave Bear, there
is a chief, and even more, a complex institution similar to a government. Now that a
government has been formed, there will be workers and a way to keep track of
events. The boys in the novel

those effects which we subsequently perceive as historical events. Adolf Hitler

some would even say this dream soon became an obsession. This fascination soon

The Background
I believe today that I am acting in the sense of the Almighty Creator. By warding off
the Jews I am fighting for the Lord s work. Adolf Hitler
To fully understand the views expressed in this paper, it is necessary to understand
Adolf Hitler and to provide context as to why Schwarzenegger is being compared to
what many believe to be the embodiment of evil itself. This section of the paper will
focus on the background of both states: California and Nazi Germany.
In 1929 Germany was hit with the final blow to an already struggling nation; the
Great Depression. Black Tuesday hit Germany in the midst of a naval blockade,
extreme hyperinflation, and poverty for many Germans. Many historians believe
that the blockade against Germany was the main reason for the rise of Nazism and
consequently World War II. Regardless, Germany was in a time of crisis and in
desperate need of salvation.
In 2003, California, while not suffering from the same magnitude of crisis as pre
Nazi Germany, was by no means experiencing prosperity. California was in the
midst of an extreme unbalance: suffering from a massive debt, a governor who
seemed unable to help, and increasing unemployment. Residents were exhausted of
false promises made by former governors and looking for change. A recall was
ordered on Governor
Test Plan For Senior Design Project
For our senior design project, we were tasked with designing and building a
readout and communication module for a biosensing MOSFET. We designed this
module using a PSOC, or Programmable System on Chip. We originally started this
project using an Arduino device. Although the Arduino had a built in DAC that we
were able to use, we quickly found that it was not going to be accurate enough for
reading the low voltages that we needed to read. So, we decided to breakout and use
external components for the DAC, Op Amps, and Multiplexers. Doing this worked,
however, the new external components that we were interacting with introduced bad
signal noise. For this project, we need to have a very clean, accurate signal.
Therefore, we realized that we... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was done to find the best fit line for the data it was reading to accurately
calculate values. Next, we output this sample data to a file and verified accuracy
against the actual values. The software provided with the PSOC also has a built in
drag and drop interface for accessing and configuring the onboard hardware. Using
this interface, we were able to visually inspect the configuration of all the hardware
and the way it is all interacting. Next, we moved to testing the hardware. To start, we
began by building a simple circuit that interacted with the PSOC to verify accuracy.
Once accuracy was verified, we began testing the onboard component accuracy
individually. After this, we went on to implement the LCD for external output. Once
the LCD was wired up, we were able to send the output data to the LCD instead of
reading it on the computer.
Results: The first test case mentioned was running linear regression on the circuit
data in order to find the best fit line. The results of this matched up with the
theoretical results when the linear regression function was ran in MATLAB. This
showed that our output results were accurate. Testing of the hardware was more
difficult to verify. This is mostly because some of the lab equipment that we had
access to is not very reliable as it is. However, we were still able to test our hardware
value results against the lab multimeters and oscilloscopes. Testing the LCD was a

Descriptive Essay About Breakfast
Every morning, my son Pete wakes up at 6:30 AM. I have 2 ВЅ hours to get us both
ready for the day, which seems like it should be plenty of time. But each day the
nanny arrives at 9, and I m never ready to leave! So I started making these freezable
breakfast sandwiches to help me get out the door faster.
I m a personal chef, so I m really fast in the kitchen. Before I had Pete, I never really
understood why people said that they didn t have time to cook breakfast in the
morning. Scrambling an egg takes no time at all! But now I realize, you have to
clean the pan, the spatula, your plate, and also eat the eggs with a fork in your
kitchen, all while trying to wrangle the baby in the other arm. In this new reality,
minutes matter.
Finding a quicker breakfast solution
So I wanted a quicker and cleaner way to get my fuel in the morning. While
oatmeal and granola can be nice occasionally, my go to breakfast will always include
eggs. They give me longer lasting energy, plus I almost always prefer savory to
sweet. I needed a way to have my eggs quickly, without having to do any of the
actual cooking in the morning. Ideally, something that could be made in a big batch
and frozen in individual portions.
Strata was an early contender. This Vegetable, Egg and Cheddar Strata recipe is
one I make for clients often and it freezes beautifully. But there s a lot of up front
prep, a long cook time, and it still requires a plate and fork. I also considered
quiche, my personal brunch favorite. It didn t make the cut for the same reasons.
So then I started thinking of the breakfast sandwiches they serve at Starbucks. They
re pre made, pretty tasty, and always hit the spot when I need a quick breakfast. I
decided to make my own version that I could enjoy at home for a third of the price
per sandwich.
The beautiful thing about these breakfast sandwiches is that they are completely
customizable. Ham, sausage, bacon, turkey bacon, and veggie sausage are all great
options. Cheddar is my favorite cheese choice, but you can use any sliced cheese
that melts well. You can even mix cooked veggies into the eggs to increase your
morning fiber intake. Once you get the overall method down, it s easy to switch it up.

Key Results Of Testing For Ppp
5 Empirical Findings
5.1 Introduction
Following the methodology section, this chapter is going to present the main
findings of the PPP test and relevant information, graphs and tables will be shown
as well. The purpose of this part is to provide key results of testing for PPP in order
to facilitate the following detailed discussions. It is no doubt that this section can
be viewed as the core of the whole project because it depends on a variety of
econometric tools to evaluate the financial data. The findings consist of two major
aspects: the one is on the examine of the APPP, namely the strong version of PPP;
the other is on the test of the RPPP, also known as the weak form of PPP.
5.2 Findings of Testing for APPP
As stated earlier, the APPP is based on the law of one price, stating that the real
exchange rate is equal to one. The formula is expressed as:
For the convenience of our research, the equation above can be simplified to:
where Et represents the nominal bilateral exchange rate, Pt* is the CPI in Japan, Pt
means the Indian CPI.
Before analysing, what should do is to transmute the raw data into the natural
logarithm form. According to Jia and Rathi (2008), the major cause of transformation
is that taking natural logarithms not only indicates the elasticity of economic
variables, but eliminates the issue of heteroscedasticity efficiently. If an econometric
model is heteroscedastic, the test of significance for variables will be meaningless
and the parameter
Mayans, Incas, And Aztecs Essay
In 2012 everyone was convinced that the world was going to come to an end, there
is one civilization that we can put the blame on, the Mayans. There were many myths
and legends that come from the 3 major civilizations that we ve all learned about;
Mayans, Incas, and Aztecs. The Mayans, Incas, and Aztecs built great and legendary
civilizations in Mexico, Central America, and South America and with understanding
these three we get a better understanding of the early life in these places. The first of
these three is the Maya civilization.
Tracing back to the Mayans we go back approximately 3,000 years ago. They were
centered in the lowlands Yucatan Peninsula where they lived in farming villages that
is now what we call Guatemala. The Mayans set a high standard for pottery,
architecture, mathematics, artwork, hieroglyphics, calendar making, and more... One
of the most notable things they achieved were the many Mayan ruins, the Mayans
built enormous and elaborate stone temples, stela, and other stone structures within
their cities. It was unknown for some time how exactly they managed to quarry and
move these large stones due to the fact at the time it was not known what tools they
possessed or how they were transported because the Maya did not use the wheel.
Many of the large structures in ancient Maya cities in Central America were
constructed from limestone blocks. It was important to determine the process by
which the Maya built these structures, and the effort put forth, in
Tuberculosis ( Tb ) Is Caused By Mycobacterium
Tuberculosis
Tuberculosis (TB) is caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis which is an acid fast
bacterium. M. tuberculosis uses the respiratory tract as the principal portal of entry.
Tuberculosis is spread from person to person through microscopic droplets released
into the air. This can happen when someone that has the active form of tuberculosisin
the lungs which has not been treated coughs, speaks, sneezes, spits, laughs, or sings.
The majority of active cases result from reactivation of old dormant infections.
Although TB is contagious, it s not that easy to catch.

TB can lead to spinal pain and joint destruction, meningitis, impair the liver and
kidney s waste filtration functions, cause blood in the urine, and can impair the heart
s ability to pump blood.
M. tuberculosis enters the respiratory tract where it travels to the lungs deep into
the alveoli and is engulfed by macrophages. One of the major features of M.
tuberculosis is its capacity to block the acidification of the phagosome and
consequently to disable phagosome lysosome fusion in phagocytic cells. After
time, the tubercles can change to a cheese like consistency called caseous lesions.
When caseous lesions calcify they are called Ghon complexes which show up on X
ray s. Tubercles can sometimes liquefy and form air filled tuberculosis cavities
which allows the bacteria to spread. This spreading of the bacteria can affect many
parts of body like the bladder, bones, brain, joints, kidneys, lymph nodes, spine, and
reproductive organs. Cell mediated immunity then develops and alerts T cells.
There are two kinds of tests that are used to conclude if a person has been infected
with
TB bacteria. These tests are the tuberculin skin test (Mantoux test) and TB blood
tests. A positive
TB skin test or TB blood test only tells that a person has been infected with TB
bacteria.

Systematic Synthetic Phonics Interventions
This research aims to explore the effect of Read Write Inc (RWI) as a systematic
synthetic phonics intervention on the development of children s reading in Key
Stage 1 (Miskin Website). The argument about whether the phonics or the whole
word approach to teaching children to read and spell has been around since the
1950s. It is no closer to being resolved nearly 70 years later. This advocates that
readingis a vital and crucial part of a child s education(Anderson, 2015). The current
government is in favour of using systematic synthetic phonics interventions to
develop reading in schools; where the children learn the sounds of the letter rather
than the whole words. Education Secretary Michael Grove is behind this
intervention and has provided funding for training and has introduced a screening
reading test for all six year olds to check their reading skills (Garner, 2011). Nick
Gibb cited by Garner (2011) agrees expressing that systematic synthetic phonics
should be incorporated into more schools, suggesting that it has major and long
lasting effects on children s reading and spelling. The government in 2005 has
introduced systematic synthetic phonics as the focal method for teaching reading
skills to early year s students.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

encompassing Pashtun ethnic majority. This organization was founded by an
extremely inscrutable individual named Mullah Mohammed Omar , and the word
Talib is an Arabic word which means Student the follower of this movement which is

Islamic law. Taliban went through three phases starting from September 1994 up to
September 1996 they were active as militia groups and from September 1996 up to
December 2001 the Taliban governed the majority part of Afghanistanas a
government, but due to the violation of human rights the majority of the world states
did not recognize it as legitimate government. And the third phase which is starting

Hispanics And Latinos And Hispanics
There is a significant difference between Latinos and Hispanics, but they are also
exceedingly closely related. It is important to remember that these terms refer to
ethnicity, not race. Latinos and Hispanics are two different words that may or may
not mean the same thing. Some people say Hispanics are those descending from
Spain and speak Spanish. Others say it is not the same because Latinos include
people from Latin American countries. Since this would include non Spanish
speaking countries it is not the same as Hispanic. So technically speaking you can
be one without the other but a person can also be both. Latinos and Hispanics have
a long history here in the United States of America. The term Hispanic is most often
used by the government, which is what will be used through the rest of this
document. Hispanics are the fastest growing group in the United States and their
numbers will continue to increase as years go by. Mexicans are the largest subgroup
of Hispanics making up 66% of the population while the other 34% includes Central
and South Americans, Puerto Ricans, Cubans, and other Hispanic origins. California,
Texas, and Florida have the highest populations of Hispanics. In regards to health
insurance, Hispanics have the highest rates of uninsured in the United States.
Hispanics tend to have very close family ties. In times of trouble they turn to family
members for support. They more often than not make decisions as a family and not
as an individual. Family
How Did Civilization Contribute To The Development Of...
According to dictionary.com, the definition of civilization is an advanced state of
human society, in which a high level of culture, science, industry, and government has
been reached. Around 3500 B.C.E, in between the Tigris and Euphrates River, was
where one of the first civilizations was born. Therefore, this region, also known as
Mesopotamia, is known to most as the cradle of civilizationВ№. Mesopotamia had
immense culture and history created by many people of different religions and ethnic
groups. This flourishing region gave a multitude contributions to literature, law,
geography, and technology.
One contribution to the development of civilization by the Mesopotamians were the
crucial innovations they came up with. For instance, during the Paleolithic AgeВІ
people were nomadsВі who hunted and gathered for their food. But, during the
Neolithic RevolutionвЃґ, global population increased and people started realizing that
they needed a more reliable source of food. With repeated experimentation, the future
SumeriansвЃµ started realizing they could domesticate animals and plants to their
convenience. Therefore, with the inventions of pastoralismвЃ¶ and agricultureвЃ·,
people started settling down. The creation of these two concepts was like planting the
seeds of civilization.Slowly, people invented more technology that improved the
standard of living of humans, and this also furthered the development of civilization.
For example, in the fictional story Nurishtar Invents the Ard a

Essay My Role Model

  • 1. Essay My Role Model Crafting an essay on the topic "Essay My Role Model" presents a unique set of challenges that requires a delicate balance of personal reflection, thoughtful analysis, and effective communication. The difficulty lies in the intricacies of delving into one's own experiences and emotions to extract meaningful insights about the chosen role model. Firstly, identifying a suitable role model is a task that demands careful consideration. Whether it's a public figure, a family member, or a friend, the selection process involves a deep introspection into the qualities that make someone worthy of emulation. This introspection can be emotionally taxing, as it may involve revisiting personal experiences and memories that have shaped one's perspective. Once a role model is chosen, the challenge is to articulate the reasons behind the selection. Expressing admiration and explaining how the role model has influenced personal growth requires a nuanced approach to language. Striking the right tone becomes crucial, as the essay should convey sincerity and authenticity without becoming overly sentimental. Furthermore, maintaining a coherent structure while navigating through the complexities of personal anecdotes and reflections is no small feat. The essay should seamlessly transition from introducing the role model to illustrating specific instances that highlight their impact. Balancing the personal and universal aspects of the narrative adds an additional layer of difficulty, as the essay should resonate with a broader audience beyond the writer's individual experiences. Additionally, finding a fresh perspective and avoiding clichГ©s in a topic that inherently involves a level of sentimentality poses a creative challenge. Striving for originality while staying true to the essence of the relationship with the role model requires careful thought and craftsmanship. In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of one's role model is a task that demands a combination of introspection, emotional engagement, and effective storytelling. It is a challenging endeavor that requires a writer to navigate the delicate balance between personal reflection and universal appeal. For assistance with essays on various topics, including discussions about role models or any other subjects, individuals can explore the services available on platforms likeHelpWriting.net, where professional writers provide support in crafting well-researched and eloquent pieces tailored to specific needs. • 2. The Pros And Cons Of The Sons Of Liberty As Colonial America grew in size and power during the 1700s, there also grew increasing tensions between colonists and the British Empire ruling over them. Originally, the colonies were a place of religious freedom and of new beginnings for the immigrants sailing across the Atlantic Ocean from Europe. As population and economy grew, so did the presence of the British Monarchy. The colonists began to revolt against the overbearing laws of Parliament, engaging in various acts of violent protest, leading to the American Revolution. Behind these revolutionary efforts was a secret organization known as the Sons of Liberty. Famous members like Samuel Adams, John Hancock, Benedict Arnold, and Paul Revere banded together to organize in places like the famous Liberty Tree and taverns across the city of Boston to plan out their attacks, remaining anonymous to the colonies and the government. Starting the revolutionary hub of Boston, the group later expanded to New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Philadelphia during the sparks of revolution across the colonies. There is great controversy over whether or not the Sons of Liberty were a patriot organization or a terrorist organization. Patriotism is defined as having great love and support for their country, whereas, terrorism is defined as the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, especially political purposes. Based on their actions and characteristics, there is greater evidence proving the Sons of Liberty should be
  • 3. Taking Up A Dark Path I could count on one hand how many times I drank before college so I wasn t prepared for what was in front of me. Sitting on my college roommates desk were a few shot glasses with Burnets. I didn t plan on drinking, but desperate for my roommate to like me, I accepted a few shots. The alcohol hit me fast and hard and changed my life forever. Sitting in my desk chair was the girl that would soon be my best friend for the next year and a half, Savannah. Little did I know, I would go down a dark path. Every weekend I would party with her. I loved life. My sense of responsibility and doing what was best for me diminished. I had grown to love the partying lifestyle and never wanted the party to stop. Around finals everyone was buying Adderall. I had never done a drug before besides an antibiotic. I took a pill the day of my Biology exam. I figured Adderall metabolized quickly and left the body. Dead wrong. I knew nothing about drugs. That night I partied. At first I was having a blast. I was laughing and dancing my heart out. Three hours later, I lost all ability to control my legs. I could not feel them nor could I put pressure on them. The mixture of Adderall and alcohol could have done permanent damage but at the time I didn t care. I had to be driven home and carried inside. The whole time I thought the situation was amusing. It was the first time I had ever blacked out. After Christmas break I was exposed to Marijuana. Since the plant was legal, no harm done, right? I

The eight stages of a criminal trial consist of trial initiation, jury selection, opening statements, and presentation of evidence, closing arguments, judge s charge to the jury, jury deliberations and the verdict. In my viewpoint the most impactful stages are the trial initiation, jury selection, evidence and verdict. These stages allow a time frame for everyone take action, which ultimately leads to proof of what a person may or may not have done. The principal of a criminal trial is the verdict, which states a person to be innocent or guilty, the whole point of a criminal trial. The trials initiation is

During the late eighteenth century, scientists began to use qualitative tools to study and monitor chemical changes. By carefully measuring mass before and after many chemical reactions, it was observed that, although chemical changes occurred, the total mass involved in the reaction remained constant. Assuming this was true for all reactions, chemists transformed this observation into a scientific law; the law of conservation of matter, which states that mass is neither created nor destroyed during a chemical reaction, it is conserved. This tracking system is typically done by a bookkeeper and must be reliable in order to be effective. Internal controls allow a company to protect its assets from fraud and theft as well as ensuring records are kept accurately by reducing errors and irregularities (Keisco, Kimmel and Weygandt, 2008). This act assigns responsibility for a company s internal controls on its executives and directors (Kiesco et.al., 2008). This assignment of responsibility forces the company to use effective internal controls by making a certain group responsible. The act also established the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board which regulates the activities of auditors. Together, assigning responsibility and defining the standards of auditors, the Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002 helps to safeguard a company s investments, assets and future successes by discouraging fraud and theft. A company that follows the requirements of the act insures to investors that their reporting is accurate. However, a company whose internal controls show deficiencies, or who chooses not to follow the Sarbanes Oxley requirements provides no insurance to investors that their reporting is accurate. This would cause investors to sell their stock and new investors to avoid the company because of the potential that reports are inaccurate. Stock prices would, in turn, suffer as confidence in the company s financial practices and reporting is questioned. As existing sources of useable water run dry, desalination is a very effective, alternative source of water. The desalination technology can also have adverse environmental impacts of its own. The plants are very energy intensive and must dispose of a highly concentrated saline byproduct into the ocean, which can cause adverse affects to marine life in the surrounding and exceeding areas. The number of female offenders entering the American justice system is growing at a rate faster than males. Statistics from the United States in 2010 show the female offender population to be increasing by 2.7% each year, compared to the male population at a rate of 1.8% each year, with similar statistics being seen in other Western countries (West Sabol, 2010). The continued increase has made understanding female offenders and their catalysts for committing crimemore imperative. Despite the general consensus that the number of females involved in crime is continuing to rise, males are still the dominant gender committing crimes, especially for violent offences. This may be why there is a continued lack of research on female offenders using a gender specific approach that accounts for gender differences. Historically, female offenders have been primarily studied using a gender neutral model comprising mainly male offenders. Although there is support that a gender neutral model can effectively apply to both male and female offenders (van der Knaap et al. 2012), there has been an ongoing debate on whether the pathways and processes that lead to female offending can be successfully explained and ultimately applied to interventions and preventions by using theories originally created to explain male crime (Steffensmeier Allan, 1996). Traditional vibrated concrete has limitations which brought about the invention of self consolidating concrete. These two concrete types have similar constituent materials but their mix proportions are different, in that SCC has more powder content, less coarse aggregate content, smaller coarse aggregate size and admixtures are used. Both concrete types are susceptible to physical and chemical attacks. The magnitude of these attacks depends on the properties and quality of the constitutive concrete ingredients, and the placement methods used. This literature review provides the necessary information on concrete technology in general with emphasis laid on the materials used for its production. The basic engineering properties of both TVC and SCC are looked at and a comparison of their mix proportions is done. The mixture proportioning and acceptance criteria for SCC is presented with a brief description of the evaluation methods used. 2.2Concrete Technology Concrete is a sophisticated composite material that is continuously being improved and modified. Before you began to question my sanity, you need a better context of what occurred during this long and sleepless day. Like I said, I woke up at 6 am on Tuesday morning (not something I do on a normal basis) to catch my flight in Chicago to Newark, NJ. First of all, it didn t help that I couldn t sleep much the night before of how anxious and excited I was to finally be leaving for my semester abroad in Ireland! It hadn t seemed real until the moment I got on the plane. I was actually going to a different country! For four months! Away from my family and friends! This was really happening! I kept questioning myself. Was I really ready for something like this? Would I be able to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I didn t even fill all the closet or drawer space!! *gasp* After our group was settled, we decided to go explore the town of Maynooth and our campus. First of all, our campus is pretty neat. Second of all, it s big and I am going to get lost way too many times to count. After admiring the wonderful campus and town, we got a bite (or several bites I should say) at one of the many restaurants in town and, literally, got a taste of the Irish culture. Following our much needed meal, we met up with our Resident Director would gave us more information about the university and Ireland itself. Next was a trip to the grocery store to get some much needed toilet paper (our apartments didn t have any toilet paper much to our demise). And that wrapped up my first day in Ireland. I ll actually be able to get much needed sleep tonight, thank goodness, because the next several days are busy with orientation and more roams around the town. Sleep will be so happily welcomed after 33 hours without sleep and some serious jet lag. But, aside from being severely sleep deprived, day 1 in Ireland was a success and I might already be falling in love with the

The Lexington Muslim Community Essay Omer Hamad Instructor: Siobhan Rolfes WRD 110 25 September 2015 The Lexington Muslim Community Ever since moving here from Saudi Arabia, I have been a member of the local Muslim community. I did all the normal things a little Muslim boy does. I went to Sunday school, I attended Friday prayer with my father, and I had Muslim friends. As I grew up, I stopped attending Sunday school, I only went to Friday prayer when school was out, and I grew apart from my childhood Muslim friends. Yet I was, and currently am, a part of the Muslim community. A community which encourages a person to relax their mind and soul through prayer. While this is all great, there are some interesting aspects of the Muslim community that I am not completely familiar with. One such topic includes the various methods in which the Muslim community reaches out to the general public with a positive message. This sort of thing is a necessity due to the recent rise of Islamophobia, not only with the conservative crowd, but with the liberal crowd as well (Bayoumi 132). Islamophobia is fundamentally a prejudice against Islam and Muslims. It exists within the US in almost every corner of the country. According to Moustafa Bayoumi, the reasoning behind islamophobia is based off of facts and ideas which could be easily discredited with a basic understanding of Islam (Bayoumi 132). Any given Muslim community obviously doesn t want people to harbor a dislike for them; they want to do what they can to be seen as a
  • 29. Summary Between Lord Of The Glies And Lord Of The Flies Early man set up civilizations so future generations could live in peace and survive in their surroundings. As early man developed civilizations, they contained five characteristics. Three of the five are complex institutions, specialized workers, and record keeping. Complex institutions are organizations like government and religious organizations. Specialized workers are people like teachers, soldiers, and priests. Finally, cuneiform tablets were used in record keeping to keep track of rules and trade. The characters in Lord of the Flies mirror early man s development through complex institutions, specialized workers and record keeping. The boys in the novel Lord of the Flies mirror the development of early man through complex institutions when they appoint a chief. In the historical fiction novel, Clan of the Cave Bear, the text reads, the leader of the small clan... (Auel 12). In the Lord of the Flies, after being called to the beach by the conch, the boys vote for a chief to lead the mass of boys on the island similar to the early man leader portrayed in Clan of the Cave Bear (Golding 22). The connection between these texts demonstrates that the boys are going through the same development phase as early man did. In both Lord of the Flies, and Clan of the Cave Bear, there is a chief, and even more, a complex institution similar to a government. Now that a government has been formed, there will be workers and a way to keep track of events. The boys in the novel

This fascination soon engulfed his life, viewing his goals as a catalyst for a better life. Adolf Hitler To fully understand the views expressed in this paper, it is necessary to understand Adolf Hitler and to provide context as to why Schwarzenegger is being compared to what many believe to be the embodiment of evil itself. This section of the paper will focus on the background of both states: California and Nazi Germany. In 1929 Germany was hit with the final blow to an already struggling nation; the Great Depression. Black Tuesday hit Germany in the midst of a naval blockade, extreme hyperinflation, and poverty for many Germans. Many historians believe that the blockade against Germany was the main reason for the rise of Nazism and consequently World War II. Regardless, Germany was in a time of crisis and in desperate need of salvation. In 2003, California, while not suffering from the same magnitude of crisis as pre Nazi Germany, was by no means experiencing prosperity. California was in the midst of an extreme unbalance: suffering from a massive debt, a governor who seemed unable to help, and increasing unemployment. Residents were exhausted of false promises made by former governors and looking for change. A recall was ordered on Governor
  • 31. Test Plan For Senior Design Project For our senior design project, we were tasked with designing and building a readout and communication module for a biosensing MOSFET. We designed this module using a PSOC, or Programmable System on Chip. We originally started this project using an Arduino device. Although the Arduino had a built in DAC that we were able to use, we quickly found that it was not going to be accurate enough for reading the low voltages that we needed to read. So, we decided to breakout and use external components for the DAC, Op Amps, and Multiplexers. Doing this worked, however, the new external components that we were interacting with introduced bad signal noise. For this project, we need to have a very clean, accurate signal. Therefore, we realized that we... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This was done to find the best fit line for the data it was reading to accurately calculate values. Next, we output this sample data to a file and verified accuracy against the actual values. The software provided with the PSOC also has a built in drag and drop interface for accessing and configuring the onboard hardware. Using this interface, we were able to visually inspect the configuration of all the hardware and the way it is all interacting. Next, we moved to testing the hardware. To start, we began by building a simple circuit that interacted with the PSOC to verify accuracy. Once accuracy was verified, we began testing the onboard component accuracy individually. After this, we went on to implement the LCD for external output. Once the LCD was wired up, we were able to send the output data to the LCD instead of reading it on the computer. Results: The first test case mentioned was running linear regression on the circuit data in order to find the best fit line. The results of this matched up with the theoretical results when the linear regression function was ran in MATLAB. This showed that our output results were accurate. Testing of the hardware was more difficult to verify. This is mostly because some of the lab equipment that we had access to is not very reliable as it is. However, we were still able to test our hardware value results against the lab multimeters and oscilloscopes. Testing the LCD was a very

  • 33. Descriptive Essay About Breakfast Every morning, my son Pete wakes up at 6:30 AM. I have 2 ВЅ hours to get us both ready for the day, which seems like it should be plenty of time. But each day the nanny arrives at 9, and I m never ready to leave! So I started making these freezable breakfast sandwiches to help me get out the door faster. I m a personal chef, so I m really fast in the kitchen. Before I had Pete, I never really understood why people said that they didn t have time to cook breakfast in the morning. Scrambling an egg takes no time at all! But now I realize, you have to clean the pan, the spatula, your plate, and also eat the eggs with a fork in your kitchen, all while trying to wrangle the baby in the other arm. In this new reality, minutes matter. Finding a quicker breakfast solution So I wanted a quicker and cleaner way to get my fuel in the morning. While oatmeal and granola can be nice occasionally, my go to breakfast will always include eggs. They give me longer lasting energy, plus I almost always prefer savory to sweet. I needed a way to have my eggs quickly, without having to do any of the actual cooking in the morning. Ideally, something that could be made in a big batch and frozen in individual portions. Strata was an early contender. This Vegetable, Egg and Cheddar Strata recipe is one I make for clients often and it freezes beautifully. But there s a lot of up front prep, a long cook time, and it still requires a plate and fork. I also considered quiche, my personal brunch favorite. It didn t make the cut for the same reasons. So then I started thinking of the breakfast sandwiches they serve at Starbucks. They re pre made, pretty tasty, and always hit the spot when I need a quick breakfast. I decided to make my own version that I could enjoy at home for a third of the price per sandwich. The beautiful thing about these breakfast sandwiches is that they are completely customizable. Ham, sausage, bacon, turkey bacon, and veggie sausage are all great options. Cheddar is my favorite cheese choice, but you can use any sliced cheese that melts well. You can even mix cooked veggies into the eggs to increase your morning fiber intake. Once you get the overall method down, it s easy to switch it up. Cooking the Eggs

Key Results Of Testing For Ppp 5 Empirical Findings 5.1 Introduction Following the methodology section, this chapter is going to present the main findings of the PPP test and relevant information, graphs and tables will be shown as well. The purpose of this part is to provide key results of testing for PPP in order to facilitate the following detailed discussions. It is no doubt that this section can be viewed as the core of the whole project because it depends on a variety of econometric tools to evaluate the financial data. The findings consist of two major aspects: the one is on the examine of the APPP, namely the strong version of PPP; the other is on the test of the RPPP, also known as the weak form of PPP. 5.2 Findings of Testing for APPP As stated earlier, the APPP is based on the law of one price, stating that the real exchange rate is equal to one. The formula is expressed as: For the convenience of our research, the equation above can be simplified to: where Et represents the nominal bilateral exchange rate, Pt* is the CPI in Japan, Pt means the Indian CPI. Before analysing, what should do is to transmute the raw data into the natural logarithm form. According to Jia and Rathi (2008), the major cause of transformation is that taking natural logarithms not only indicates the elasticity of economic variables, but eliminates the issue of heteroscedasticity efficiently. If an econometric model is heteroscedastic, the test of significance for variables will be meaningless and the parameter

There were many myths and legends that come from the 3 major civilizations that we ve all learned about; Mayans, Incas, and Aztecs. The Mayans, Incas, and Aztecs built great and legendary civilizations in Mexico, Central America, and South America and with understanding these three we get a better understanding of the early life in these places. The first of these three is the Maya civilization. Tracing back to the Mayans we go back approximately 3,000 years ago. They were centered in the lowlands Yucatan Peninsula where they lived in farming villages that is now what we call Guatemala. The Mayans set a high standard for pottery, architecture, mathematics, artwork, hieroglyphics, calendar making, and more... One of the most notable things they achieved were the many Mayan ruins, the Mayans built enormous and elaborate stone temples, stela, and other stone structures within their cities. It was unknown for some time how exactly they managed to quarry and move these large stones due to the fact at the time it was not known what tools they possessed or how they were transported because the Maya did not use the wheel. Many of the large structures in ancient Maya cities in Central America were constructed from limestone blocks. It was important to determine the process by which the Maya built these structures, and the effort put forth, in

TB can lead to spinal pain and joint destruction, meningitis, impair the liver and kidney s waste filtration functions, cause blood in the urine, and can impair the heart s ability to pump blood. M. tuberculosis enters the respiratory tract where it travels to the lungs deep into the alveoli and is engulfed by macrophages. One of the major features of M. tuberculosis is its capacity to block the acidification of the phagosome and consequently to disable phagosome lysosome fusion in phagocytic cells. After time, the tubercles can change to a cheese like consistency called caseous lesions. When caseous lesions calcify they are called Ghon complexes which show up on X ray s. Tubercles can sometimes liquefy and form air filled tuberculosis cavities which allows the bacteria to spread. This spreading of the bacteria can affect many parts of body like the bladder, bones, brain, joints, kidneys, lymph nodes, spine, and reproductive organs. Cell mediated immunity then develops and alerts T cells. There are two kinds of tests that are used to conclude if a person has been infected with TB bacteria. These tests are the tuberculin skin test (Mantoux test) and TB blood tests. A positive TB skin test or TB blood test only tells that a person has been infected with TB bacteria.

Systematic Synthetic Phonics Interventions This research aims to explore the effect of Read Write Inc (RWI) as a systematic synthetic phonics intervention on the development of children s reading in Key Stage 1 (Miskin Website). The argument about whether the phonics or the whole word approach to teaching children to read and spell has been around since the 1950s. It is no closer to being resolved nearly 70 years later. This advocates that readingis a vital and crucial part of a child s education(Anderson, 2015). The current government is in favour of using systematic synthetic phonics interventions to develop reading in schools; where the children learn the sounds of the letter rather than the whole words. Education Secretary Michael Grove is behind this intervention and has provided funding for training and has introduced a screening reading test for all six year olds to check their reading skills (Garner, 2011). Nick Gibb cited by Garner (2011) agrees expressing that systematic synthetic phonics should be incorporated into more schools, suggesting that it has major and long lasting effects on children s reading and spelling. According to dictionary.com, the definition of civilization is an advanced state of human society, in which a high level of culture, science, industry, and government has been reached. Around 3500 B.C.E, in between the Tigris and Euphrates River, was where one of the first civilizations was born. Therefore, this region, also known as Mesopotamia, is known to most as the cradle of civilizationВ№. Mesopotamia had immense culture and history created by many people of different religions and ethnic groups. This flourishing region gave a multitude contributions to literature, law, geography, and technology. One contribution to the development of civilization by the Mesopotamians were the crucial innovations they came up with.
