Who would be the audience for your
        media product?

           By Jack Jones
Target Audience
The product I have produced is targeted at people aged 16+, this was
chosen due to research into other horror films and as in ours it doesn’t
have swearing and you cannot see anyone being killed or harmed in
the opening clips making it applicable for teenagers to and also many
adults, due to the nature of the genre, the sense of realism can make
the film be appealing to anyone, as they can it can make them feel
these situations could happen to anyone, that’s why using a random
person who isn't famous to act in our film was a good choice to do so.
Also as the main character in my product is of the age of 17, it makes
sense to target it towards teenagers as they can apply themselves to
the character and people who are older that have interests in horror
films. As well as these points also the background of the actor comes
into play, as usually the main actor in horror films are of American
ethnicity and starred in our horror film the actor is British which goes
against most stereotypical films and can help relate back to the chosen
consumer base of the British population
Viewer Profile
• To ensure that our main target audience of teenagers
    16+ I asked a friend..
- Max Campbell
- 17 Years of age
- Likes action and horror genres
- Favourite films – Paranormal activity’s and the saw trilogy.
- Having these traits and interests made him the perfect
candidate to asses for our film to make sure it was the
most appropriate to the audience we which to please as
    it could possibly be.
- I then asked max what he liked and thought most horror
films should include to be appealing. He responded “ I
believe most horror films should have a build up of
tension throughout the film to keep you on edge and
interested in what may happen, but also the suspense of
the unknown, not knowing what’s coming is a main factor
in my opinion to achieve a great horror film.” Having
taken on board some of the comments that was made in
this statement we aimed to achieve as many elements as
this in our film as possible, like the gradual build up of
suspense and also a key element is the unknown element
of the antagonist in our film
