My Story Of The School Year Of 2010-2011
My story begins in the school year of 2010 2011. I was a fifth grader, eleven years of age, at Santa Fe
5/6 Center. As per requirements we had to take a music class, and I knew that I could not sing, so an
instrument it was. Most of that year I spent experimenting with wind and string instruments to find out
if I belonged in band or orchestra. I was never really interested in any of the wind instrument so I
atleast knew I was going to be in orchestra. The year ended with me being skeptical to if I should play
an instrument or not.
With the next school year approaching fast I had to make my decision. A few days before sixth grade
started, Santa Fe hosted a little music assembly for the students and their parents to come and enjoy
music and also to provide instruments for the students to try out and possibly buy. I remember walking
around a tad bit nervous looking for an instrument and that s when I heard someone start playing the
cello. I turned to look and saw a man, Mr. Stanley, who later I found out was my cello teacher, playing
the cello. He played so beautifully it inspired me. The warm, rich tone of the cello filled the room and
I remember almost everyone stopped what they were doing just to listen to him play. I think mother
saw the glint in my eyes when I first listened to the cello and she knew that was my choice. After Mr.
Stanley s little performance was done, I approached him and bombarded him with questions. In the
end Mother ended up buying a three fourths

NDCC 06 Creates Admission Criteria For Psychiatric...
Introduction NDCC 25.03.2 06 creates admission criteria for psychiatric residential treatment
facilities, or also known as residential treatment centers. The main criteria outlined is a diagnosis of an
mental illness or emotional disturbance by a psychiatrist or psychologist, which cannot be treated at a
lower level of care. While in general a seemingly good policy with positive aspects, there are a few
issues with NDCC 25.03.2 06 that both policy makers and social workers working in PRTFs should be
aware of. This paper will analysis the policy in further depth to determine if changes should be made.
Are the Goals of the Policy Legal? The goal of NDCC 25.03.2 06 is to essentially the guidelines of

Do the Goals of the Policy Contribute to Greater Social Equality? By defining admission criteria,
NDCC 25.03.2 06 gives a place for society s most troubled youth a place to stay without placing them
in an inappropriate level of care. However, families without insurance cannot send their children to
these programs, which would leave the some youth without the help that they need. They may have to
enter the child welfare or juvenile delinquency system before their issues are addressed by a PRTF, as
then they would qualify for Medical Assistance through the government (B. Novotny, personal
communication, October 26, 2017) . Unfortunately, further damage and trauma may have been done
just by being in those alternate systems. However, PRTF do offer a place for some youth to receive
treatment before more drastic measures may be taken and gives them a chance at a more normal life.
Do the Goals of the Policy Positively Affect the Redistribution of Income, Resources, Rights
Entitlements, Rewards, Opportunities, and Status? NDCC 25.03.2 06 doesn t offer entitlements,
rewards, or income. However, it does offer many opportunities and the possibility of an increase of
status for youth admitted into the PRTF. Youth that meet the criteria set forth in the admission criteria
may receive many programs. For example at Ruth Meiers in Grand Forks, one of six PRTFs in North
Dakota clients receive individual,

The Basic Difference Between The Ancient And Modern...
The Olympic Games are an international sports festival that began in ancient Greece. The original
Greek games were staged every fourth year for several hundred years, until they were abolished in the
early Christian era. The revival of the Olympic Games took place in 1896, and since then they have
been staged every fourth year, except during World War I and World War II (1916, 1940, 1944).
Perhaps the basic difference between the ancient and modern Olympics is that the former was the
ancient Greeks way of saluting their gods, whereas the modern Games are a manner of saluting the
athletic talents of citizens of all nations. The original Olympics featured competition in music,
speeches, and theater performances as well. The modern Games have a more expansive athletic event
schedule, and for 2 and a half weeks they are supposed to replace the ... Show more content on

Nine sports were on the event schedule: cycling, fencing, gymnastics, lawn tennis, shooting,

Olympiad, to be held in France, was scheduled. Olympic Games were held in 1900 and 1904, and by
1908 the number of competitors more than quadrupled the number at Athens from 311 to 2,082.

Essay on Premarital Checkup and Screening
Many young people aspire to get a companion in the near future, settle down and raise a healthy
family. This happens successfully when couples are themselves healthy. However, this desire is
sometimes ruined when couples who have already settled realize that one of them had a hereditary
disease that was diagnosed earlier before the couple got married. The couples therefore end up having
sick children. To counter or minimize the chances of raising sick children, some countries have gone
ahead to pass legislation and make it compulsory for couples to undergo premarital checkup and
screening before they settle down so as to get relevant counseling on their health and determine
whether they can continue with their relationship.

This is because, the cultural norms, educational and religious factors do not totally agree or concur
with these programs hence their execution and outcome faces resistance from such factors. This,
therefore, has led to the lobbying for support from government agencies, religious sections as well as
counseling to make these programs a success. Apart from Saudi Arabia, there are several other
countries that have established premarital screening programs and as such include GCC, Italy, Egypt,
Spain, and Portugal among others (Demetriades, 2003).
Study Objectives
The general objective of the study is to investigate the attitudes of Al Baha University students
towards premarital medical checkup. In addition, the study aims at arriving at some conclusions that
will enable in making appropriate recommendations towards premarital care and checkup in Saudi
Arabia. The results from the interviewed students will be generalized to cover the whole student
fraternity of Al Baha University. This will assist policy makers within Saudi Arabia and academicians
to understand the attitudes and opinions of the students towards premedical checkup so as to formulate
policies in the future that are acceptable to the masses.
Literature Review
Various researchers have carried out studies in the area of premarital checkup area in a view to expand
the knowledge scope and also get to understand the perceptions of individuals towards this area.

Left Ventricular Assist Device Essay
Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVADs) has evolved into long term use as bridge to transplant and as
destination therapy for those with severe end stage heart failure. However, treatment and readmission
rates of Heart Failure (HF) and LVAD patients is a serious matter to hospitals because the reduce
reimbursement rates that hospitals receiving if these patients are re admitted within 30 days of their
discharge date. Studies have shown that Advanced Practice Nurses (APN) use of evidence base
practice for the care of these patients can reduce the readmission rates of this specific population. The
purpose of this evidence based practice project is to investigate if an APN directed interdisciplinary

However, 1st year survival in LVAD patient is higher than 85%. Unfortunately, 69.8% of the LVAD
patients get readmitted to hospital in first 6 months after the device implantation (Topkara et al.,
2010). LVAD patients live with this device as the last option unless they get new hearts (Rowland et
al., 2012). If the device malfunctions or stop their lives can end immediately (Rowland et al., 2012).
Therefore, the focus has to be on their follow up cares after they get discharged from the hospital
(Banbury et al., 2003). Literature reviews as well as hands on experience support that APN directed
care post discharge were able to reduce hospital readmissions and increase the quality of life of HF
patients (Takeda et al., 2012). The APN, evidence based team, supports the LVAD patients by phone
calls, home visits, frequent education and 24 hour emergency hotline (Polisena et al., 2010). This type
of care has been seen at many facilities, including Hackensack University Medical center where I have
encountered both pre and post operative LVAD patients which have a extraordinary APN driven
evidence base practice approach to these patients.
Significance of the Problem
Approximately 670,000 new cases of HF per year, HF is the leading cause of hospital readmission
(Rowland et al., 2012). Also, 69.8% of the LVAD patients get readmitted to

Brick Lane Thesis Essay
Female empowerment is what a patriarchal tries its best to dissolve, In the novel Brick Lane the
protagonist Nanzeen is part of the extensive amount of women who face this adversity but her journey
overcoming this is what makes this novel. There are many factors that give this empowerment but the
outstanding ones are , the romantic relationship with Karim , Hasina letters and her friendship with
Razia.
At the age of 18 Nanzeen is shortly informed about a marriage her father has arranged to man named
Chanu who is twice her age, this is something she does not want but doesn t protests it because up to

The Battle Between Grendel And Beowulf
Carl Van Clausewitz once said, Courage, above all things, is the first quality of a warrior. In a culture
where being a warrior is a very integral part of everyday lives, having courage is a key component of
social survival. To have courage means to be able to defend a kingdom by every means possible. It
means protecting and ascertaining the wellbeing of the people within one s own kingdom. And above
all, courage means remaining loyal to one s king, regardless of the circumstance. This is the warrior
culture that Beowulf in Beowulf was a part of successfully as a thane, and the same warrior culture
that leads the narrator in The Wanderer to lament past memories. In Beowulf, the fight between
Grendel and Beowulf was certainly a nail biter. In this fight, however, Beowulf shows his courage by
doing his absolute best at defending the kingdom by taking on this gruesome monster. Grendel was
wreaking havoc on the kingdom to no end. He was killing many and terrorizing the citizens greatly.
When Beowulf heard of this, as a courageous thane, he stepped in to try to stop this and protect the
people. Hygelac s kinsman kept [Grendel] helplessly locked in a handgrip. As long as either lived, he
was hateful to the other. The monster s whole body was in pain; a tremendous wound appeared on his
shoulder. Sinews split and the bone lappings burst. Beowulf was granted the glory of winning;
Grendel was driven under the fen banks, fatally hurt, to his desolate lair (Lines

Mind Control Quotes
One that has no mind is being kept from their personal freedoms and desires. If one was to pick if
either mind control is worse or physical control I would choose mind control because your mind is
who you are, your personality. When one controls their mind they are not allowing their imagination or
emotions get the best of them and that is controlling one s thinking.
When one does not have control of their mind they are not able to think for themselves therefore
resulting in not being able to have opinions or even a personality and is kept from their freedoms and
rights to do what they desire. Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear
(Orwell, Brainy Quotes). If someone is controlling a mind they are restricting

The Economic Impact of Globalization on Turkey
Introduction Globalization has affected the world in many different ways, including cultural exchange,
language development, and information diffusion, along with worldwide economic and financial
growth. Here we wish to analyse the costs and benefits of globalisation to the Republic of Turkey.
More specifically, we will look at the economic and business impacts globalisation has made on
Turkey and its current position with regard to the world economy. Current Economic Situation Today s
economic outlook for Turkey is deteriorating. GDP growth has been revised to 3.6% for 2008 (against
4.3% previously) and to 3.0% for 2009 (previously 4.0%). Turkey s unemployment rate rose to 9.4%.

Therefore, there was not comparable increase in their exports. On the contrary, the rise of montage
industries which used imported components to assemble the products primarily (i.e. electronic goods,
motor vehicles, consumer durables, etc) meant that industrial growth required ever more imports.
Paradoxically, the attempts at import substitution to decrease its trade balance deficit tended to
aggravate it. This strategy also caused other problems: the capital intensive nature of many industrial
investments, especially those in the intermediate goods sector, caused employment in industry to grow
relatively more slowly, which lead to structural unemployment. Moreover, dependence on imported
petroleum to develop its industry made the country highly vulnerable to increases in oil prices. These
are the threats for the country to achieve sustainable economic growth. Late 1970s and early 1980s:
Economic Reform In the late 1970s, the industrial sector of Turkey had reached a turning point. In the
short run, it needed to decrease the trade balance deficit. It was facing shortages of energy, imported
machinery parts, and processing materials. These had caused a decline in industrial output during the
last few years of the decade. In the longer run, to become more efficient and to be able to have more
exports, the industrial structure had to be adjusted in accordance with the country s comparative
advantages. In effect, industry would have to transfer resources out of

Essay On Obstructive Sleep Apnea
Sleep is very important to live; it is one of many elements that help keep human beings alive. The
dictionary defines sleep as the natural periodic suspension of consciousness during which the powers
of the body are restored (Webster 638). However, there is a percentage of the population that has
difficulty achieving and maintaining Stage 4, the stage that lets both the body and mind fall into a
deep sleep, in their sleep pattern. Stage 4 of sleep is also known as REM sleep. At the bottom of this
difficulty, to fall asleep is a known condition called obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) that is defined as a
serious, potentially life threatening condition that is far more common than generally understood
(Citation). Obstructive sleep apnea can be very treacherous if it is not properly detected or treated.

Kinetic Reaction Lab
Introduction: On the word of Shelton (2018) in the General Chemistry Ⅱ Lab Manual, Kinetics is the
study of the rates which chemical reactions occur at. The rate of reaction is dependent upon the change
of concentration over the change in time (p. 14). The objection of this lab was to establish the order of
reaction with respect to persulfate ion and the overall rate constant. Experimental Procedure: For this
lab, you will need three beakers that have a volume of 150mL, 2 graduated cylinders that have a
volume of 10mL and a stopwatch (Shelton, 2018 p. 15). In between experiments, you will want to
clean the beakers and the graduated cylinders thoroughly to obtain accurate results. Beaker 1 and 2
will need to be kept separate and each will have a graduated cylinder of their own. ... Show more

As advised by Shelton, you should do it at least 2 3 times to ensure that acquire the most precise data.
The first time my partners and I conducting this experiment, we got a brown liquid that we weren t
quite confident was the color the liquid was supposed to be. Consequently, we completed the
experiment again and that time we were efficient to capture the results we expected. There are no
theories applicable to this lab. The objective of this experiment was to establish the order of reaction
with respect to persulfate ion and overall rate. A way I would compare my results with my classmates
is by inquiring them how they stirred their solution after they mixed the contents of beaker 1 and 2
together. Did they use a stirrer, mix it by shaking the beaker in a circle or did they mix the solution at
all? A strength I experienced during this experiment is the consistency of the contents in the second
beaker. Although the amount of K_2 S_2 O_8 and K_s SO_4 varied throughput the four experiments,
they all yielded the same results. Which was a black color when the contents of beaker 1 and 2 were
mixed into beaker 3.

Spanking a Child and Child Abuse
Spanking a child is not against the law in most places. However, parents who use it in their homes are
being accused of child abuse. The Chicago Tribune published an article that urged readers to report
child abuse when they become aware of it. In the article Child abuse in plain View the author

Like most critics of corporal punishment, the author is trying to link spanking to abuse. The author`s

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends that parents do not spank their children at
all. They think that time out and removal of privileges is better than corporal punishment ( Child
Abuse in Plain View ). The AAP should know that balance is the key when it comes to discipline.
Incorrectly using any form of discipline can have negative effects. Placing a child in time out too
much may cause the child to become withdrawn. Constantly yelling at a child could cause a child to
feel angry or depressed. Spanking a child for every mishap could cause a child to be fearful of making
a mistake. The bottom line is that every child is different. What works for one child may not work for
the other. Some children respond well to time out. For some, a spanking may the best way to correct
unwanted behavior. Parents should decide what is best for the child, at that moment.
Parents should also decide whether the child s behavior is a direct challenge of authority, when
deciding which discipline method to use (Dobson 29). A child who decides to be an artist for the day
and draws on the wall is not being defiant. On the other hand, a child who continues to draw on the
wall after being warned not to, several times is being defiant. A child who does not clean up his room
should not be disciplined the same as a child who curses his parents. Corporal punishment may be the
best solution for deliberate disrespect. It will immediately cause a child to re think his

World War II left many powerful nations in smoke and rubble. The deconstruction of many countries
gave them the chance to rebuild their cities and economies. No country took more advantage of this
opportunity than Japan. Japan was a huge militaristic power in World War
II . Their aggressive behavior caused them to be stripped of their military and their power for self rule.
The demilitarization of Japan changed the country s focus from world militaristic domination to world
economic domination. The country established free trade, manufactured goods, and improved and

The Allende Governance A New Governance Essay
After the fall of the Allende governance a new governance was applied which led to rise of free
market economy through the use of different reforms like privatization and deregulation. With low
level of understanding in economics Pinochet hired economists who were tasked with freeing the
economy from the previous destruction caused by socialists. According to De Haan by 1970 Chile
recorded least freedom in its economy (De Haan et al 220). But later the economy started experiencing
major growth from 1980s which increased economic growth from7.2 percent compared to other
countries in South America. While the country economic progress has received international
recognition, their development hasn t been easy as it has faced major critical moments to their
economic success. For example during the 1982 recession the gross domestic product dropped by 14.1
% which resulted to overvaluation of their currency which made the currency more vulnerable to
harsh changes in international economy. This changes led to decrease in capital which decreased
availability of finance meant to finance investments. According to Buchi this led to an increase in
unemployment by 23% and decrease in salaries and wages by over 10% (Buchi 10). Years later Chile
has been able to experience economic growth especially in the 1980s compared with other countries in
South America who underwent similar crises. This success has been achieved through the application
of crisis management process which had affected

The Analysis Of The Registration Process For A Pharmacist
The critical analysis of the registration process for a pharmacist in another Member State registering to
practice in the Republic of Ireland will be facilitated through an understanding of the influence of the
European Union and a comparison of the registration procedures outlined by both the Republic of
Ireland and the United Kingdom. The agreement of ROI to the European Treaty in 1973 on 1 January
has had and has a profound effect on all legislation including the area of pharmacy. EU legislation
predominantly comes in the form of directives or regulations. Regulations are considered mandatory
in their totality where as directives allow for implementation into national law sanctioning countries to

The improvements were necessary in order to comply with EU directives specifically directive
2005/85/EC which frameworks the free movement of professionals across member states and
exemplifies that previous implementation was inadequate. It is now acknowledged and regulated by
the Statutory Instrument no. 489/2008 (Ireland 2008). The authors Weedle and Clarke (2011); Appelbe
et al. (2013) have synopsised the criteria which must be met in order to be eligible for the EU route of
registration with regards the directive 2005/85/EC to practice in the ROI and subsequently the UK.
Firstly the applicant must be a citizen of a member state within the EU/EEA. The applicant must then
provide evidence of their qualification in pharmacy. The education/training prerequisites are outlined
in Article 44 of the EU directive (Directive 2005/85/EC). If the criterion there is met then automatic
recognition is permitted. Alternatively one must demonstrate a minimum of three uninterrupted years
of the past five years in a regulated pharmaceutical discipline/area as mentioned in Article 45. This
form of entry is as a result of acquired rights provision. This is for those who cannot comply with the
above mentioned training requisite. This maybe as a result of the applicant possessing the qualification

Peptic Ulcer Disease and Pediatric Patients
PUD is not as common in pediatric patients when compared to adult incidences. The most common
cause of PUD in pediatrics is due to Helicobacter pylori (H.pylori) infection (Guariso Gasparetto,
2012). Primitive ulcers, due to H. pylori, cause changes in the gastric or duodenal mucosa and alter
gastric function such as overproduction of HCl and pepsin, resulting in ulcer forming lesions (Guariso
Gasparetto, 2012). NSAIDs, stress and other extra gastric pathogenic events cause secondary ulcers
within the stomach. The underlying pathology of PUD is due to the reduction of prostaglandins that
serve as a protective mechanism on the gastric mucosa. Patients most commonly present with dull
stomach ache or pain usually after a meal. Gas, bloating, nausea and vomiting are some less common
symptoms. PUD, although rare when compared to adults, is reported worldwide in children and most
commonly identified as initiated by H. pylori infection and the use of NSAIDs occurring in the second
decade of life. Other events such as stress, shock, or major trauma can trigger acute ulcers in children
but there is a hereditary family history component that increases acid output and accelerates gastric
emptying in more than 20% of patients (Guariso Gasparetto, 2012). Although H. pylori infection is the
more common cause of PUD, the use of NSAIDs increases the risk of acquiring PUD (Guariso
Gasparetto, 2012).

The Benefits Of Cloud Computing
Cloud Computing has grown tremendously in recent years because of its convenience, flexibility,
mobility, and availability. It enables users to access resources online throughout the internet from
anywhere at any time. Data and applications are available to end users no matter where they are in the
world, dispersed groups of people can now meet virtually and share information in real time, and the
reduction of servers and software costs can significantly reduce without impacting the capabilities of a
company s IT infrastructure. However, despite the many benefits of cloud computing, there is one
major drawback of all these advantages that cloud computing offers, and that is security. Due to the
high demands on large scale ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many things can affect the reliability of the cloud such as failed servers and an overload of data. This
report will focus on the privacy and reliability related issues concerning cloud computing security, and
how these risks can be approached. II. Technical Summary The report that I selected focused on the
development of cloud computing in security issues related with the privacy and reliability, the key
factors of affecting the security risks, and also the suggestions and recommendations for these risks.
The expectations for reliability of the cloud continues to grow as more and more applications are
developed based on cloud service. To meet those expectations, cloud service providers need to
understand the challenges and find ways to increase the reliability of cloud services, and also ways to
avoid the risks. Some of the risks that affect the reliability of the cloud is co residency and multi
tenancy, downtime, and latency challenges. Co residency is when multiple services are held in a
server. This makes it difficult to predict the performance of an application. Reliability can be affected
by other services that are busy. Multi tenancy is when multiple independent instances of an application
can be consolidated on a single virtualized platform. The instances can then be available
simultaneously to various groups of users. Multi tenancy has the same cost benefits and challenges as

The Berlin Wall Research Paper
The Berlin Wall
Escape hatch no more. The Berlin wall consisted of barbed wire and concrete, it was built to prevent
East Germans from fleeing for their democratic freedom. Once the communist government realized
that their people were fleeing the country they were outraged. According to History.com, the
Communist government of the German Democratic Republic (GDR) constructed the wall on August
13, 1961. Now because of this there is no more departing. Everyone on the East side of Germany
could no longer flee without their life being seized. They were stranded. There was no more escaping
the Communist Government and they . It was a wall of shame or as they say Wand der Schande.
What Made Up the Berlin Wall This new part of history ran on a jagged path that was about 96 miles
long. Although the wall was 96 miles long, only 27 miles of the wall separated ... Show more content

The Great Stock Market Crash
Stock Market Crash. PBS, Public Broadcasting Service,
www.pbs.org/fmc/timeline/estockmktcrash.htm. Accessed 13 Mar. 2017. To fully comprehend the
logistics of the Great Stock Market Crash of 1929, one must recognize the basics of the stock market.
Capital is the tools needed to produce things of value out of raw materials. At the time, capital was
mainly represented as stock, and corporations owned the capital. Thus, whoever owns a share of the
stocks owns a part of the corporation. In the 1920s, a boom in stock value occurred, so investors
purchased a multitude of stocks. Yet, the mirage faded in 1929, and stocks swiftly crashed. As a result,
banks, which had invested deposits in the market, lost depositors money;the banks attempted to

Chrysler Motors LLC Synopsis
Chrysler Motors LLC, a U.S. auto manufacturing company, is no stranger to creating various
automotive innovations through the years. Nor is the company a stranger to working its way through
financial ups and downs. During Chrysler s more profitable years the company has made several
successful strategic acquisitions such as the one during the 1920s when Chrysler bought the Dodge
Brothers firm. This acquisition allowed Chrysler to develop and release the low priced Plymouth
brand as well as the medium priced DeSoto brand which can be attributed to aiding in Chrysler s
survival during the Great Depression of the 1930s. Chrysler s success through the 1940s and 1950s
can be attributed to the company s ability to develop state of the art features for their vehicles from the
hemispherical head V8 engine, more commonly known as the HEMI engine, to power steering, power
windows, the alternator, electronic fuel injection, and many other automotive innovations. Chrysler s
success, however, did not end there as the company was also successful at expanding its operations to
overseas auto markets by acquiring the UK based Rootes Group, Simca, and Barreiros companies
(Wheelen Hunger 17 2). Unfortunately for Chrysler this was not enough to keep the company afloat as
the one thing Chrysler failed to do was pay heed to the changing demands of customers in their
domestic market. The oil crisis of the 1970s marked the beginning of Chrysler s decline in sales. In an
attempt to save the

Jay Gatsby Characteristics
Jay Gatsby s character is an interesting one. It seems that everything he does is in pursuit of
accomplishing his utmost improbable thought i.e. to get Daisy back in his life which is his past. He
may be known as the Great Gatsby , but after considering some of his personal traits, some of the
things he believes in are not commendable.
Initially, he did not belong to an elite family. He was born in the house of poor farmers and as he grew
up, he separated himself from his family. In order to break away from his past and achieve greater
opportunities in life, Jimmy Gatz becomes Jay Gatsby. He then falls in love with Daisy, who belong to
a rich family and the only thing that keeps her away from him is money. From that point onwards, Jay

Set It Off Movie
What kind of movies do you enjoy watching with your freetime? Movies to me are stories told from a
different point of view for your enjoyment. I personally love all different types of movies but if I had
to choose two of my favorites it would be action and dramas. My favorite movie is Set it Off , because
there is a lot of drama and action, there s never a dull moment throughout the entire movie. Set it Off
was filmed in 1996 it soon became very popular, it also starred many talented actresses such as Jada
Pinkett Smith, Queen Latifah, Vivica Fox etc. It s mostly about four women who were going through
hard times and decided to start robbing banks just to get by. At the beginning their robberies were
successful, but soon they attract the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Anyways this movie doesn t relate to me because I ve never robbed a bank but I have felt some of the
emotions. At a point of time I was so nervous about doing something I had never done before. But, it
couldn t have been as stressful and and nerve racking as about to rob a bank. One time i had got a
phone call home in elementary and I thought about what my moms reaction would be when I got
home. I was o scared when i got home I didn t even really get in trouble all she did was sit down me
and had a long talk. Just that talk made me feel as if I should apologize to my mom and my teacher
and get my act together. This movie does also remind me of the time I stole some candy from the
corner store when I was 11. I will never forget that day my mom kept saying she was going to call the
police, of course she didn t but just to scare me. It worked too, I started crying and saying don t call
please I was really scared and thought she was serious. I promised her I would never do it again and I
really stuck to it and stayed on the right track. Since then I ve never taken anything without permission
or unless it was given to me

Triangle Factory Case Study
In the early 20th century of America, conditions in a workplace were very different then it is in the
present day. Because of this, many tragedies occurred since that time. On March 25, 1911 at precisely
4:45 p.m. the fire alarm was pulled on the eighth floor of the Triangle Shirtwaist Company factory.
Being a shirtwaist company, the factory was filled with an abundance of fabric, which was highly
flammable. The factory`s workers were mostly young female immigrants of an Italian or Jewish
origin. Out of 500 employees that worked in the factory, 146 people were killed. As a result of this
disaster, legal action was taken against the factory workers, modifications and reforms were made to
the fire safety rules, and advances were made in workplace conditions. The government and the
employers are both responsible for ensuring proper standards in the workplace because the
government must make the laws, and the employers must enforce them. Although the employees must
also follow the rules and laws to stay safe themselves, the responsibility is mostly in the government
and employers.
The owners of the Triangle Shirtwaist Company factory did not provide appropriate conditions for
their employees. From low pay, long hours, to even child labor were the conditions they had to endure.
The employers should be required to provide an adequate work space for each employee and a
minimum wage that is consistent and not interchangeable. The Triangle factory had children as young
as 14 years

  • 2. My Story Of The School Year Of 2010-2011 My story begins in the school year of 2010 2011. I was a fifth grader, eleven years of age, at Santa Fe 5/6 Center. As per requirements we had to take a music class, and I knew that I could not sing, so an instrument it was. Most of that year I spent experimenting with wind and string instruments to find out if I belonged in band or orchestra. I was never really interested in any of the wind instrument so I atleast knew I was going to be in orchestra. The year ended with me being skeptical to if I should play an instrument or not. With the next school year approaching fast I had to make my decision. A few days before sixth grade started, Santa Fe hosted a little music assembly for the students and their parents to come and enjoy music and also to provide instruments for the students to try out and possibly buy. I remember walking around a tad bit nervous looking for an instrument and that s when I heard someone start playing the cello. I turned to look and saw a man, Mr. Stanley, who later I found out was my cello teacher, playing the cello. He played so beautifully it inspired me. The warm, rich tone of the cello filled the room and I remember almost everyone stopped what they were doing just to listen to him play. I think mother saw the glint in my eyes when I first listened to the cello and she knew that was my choice. After Mr. Stanley s little performance was done, I approached him and bombarded him with questions. In the end Mother ended up buying a three fourths ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. NDCC 06 Creates Admission Criteria For Psychiatric... Introduction NDCC 25.03.2 06 creates admission criteria for psychiatric residential treatment facilities, or also known as residential treatment centers. The main criteria outlined is a diagnosis of an mental illness or emotional disturbance by a psychiatrist or psychologist, which cannot be treated at a lower level of care. While in general a seemingly good policy with positive aspects, there are a few issues with NDCC 25.03.2 06 that both policy makers and social workers working in PRTFs should be aware of. This paper will analysis the policy in further depth to determine if changes should be made. Are the Goals of the Policy Legal? The goal of NDCC 25.03.2 06 is to essentially the guidelines of who is allowed to enter PRTFs and who is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Do the Goals of the Policy Contribute to Greater Social Equality? By defining admission criteria, NDCC 25.03.2 06 gives a place for society s most troubled youth a place to stay without placing them in an inappropriate level of care. However, families without insurance cannot send their children to these programs, which would leave the some youth without the help that they need. They may have to enter the child welfare or juvenile delinquency system before their issues are addressed by a PRTF, as then they would qualify for Medical Assistance through the government (B. Novotny, personal communication, October 26, 2017) . Unfortunately, further damage and trauma may have been done just by being in those alternate systems. However, PRTF do offer a place for some youth to receive treatment before more drastic measures may be taken and gives them a chance at a more normal life. Do the Goals of the Policy Positively Affect the Redistribution of Income, Resources, Rights Entitlements, Rewards, Opportunities, and Status? NDCC 25.03.2 06 doesn t offer entitlements, rewards, or income. However, it does offer many opportunities and the possibility of an increase of status for youth admitted into the PRTF. Youth that meet the criteria set forth in the admission criteria may receive many programs. For example at Ruth Meiers in Grand Forks, one of six PRTFs in North Dakota clients receive individual, ... • 4. The Basic Difference Between The Ancient And Modern... The Olympic Games are an international sports festival that began in ancient Greece. The original Greek games were staged every fourth year for several hundred years, until they were abolished in the early Christian era. The revival of the Olympic Games took place in 1896, and since then they have been staged every fourth year, except during World War I and World War II (1916, 1940, 1944). Perhaps the basic difference between the ancient and modern Olympics is that the former was the ancient Greeks way of saluting their gods, whereas the modern Games are a manner of saluting the athletic talents of citizens of all nations. The original Olympics featured competition in music, speeches, and theater performances as well. This happens successfully when couples are themselves healthy. However, this desire is sometimes ruined when couples who have already settled realize that one of them had a hereditary disease that was diagnosed earlier before the couple got married. The couples therefore end up having sick children. To counter or minimize the chances of raising sick children, some countries have gone ahead to pass legislation and make it compulsory for couples to undergo premarital checkup and screening before they settle down so as to get relevant counseling on their health and determine whether they can continue with their relationship. LVAD patients live with this device as the last option unless they get new hearts (Rowland et al., 2012). If the device malfunctions or stop their lives can end immediately (Rowland et al., 2012). • 8. The Battle Between Grendel And Beowulf Carl Van Clausewitz once said, Courage, above all things, is the first quality of a warrior. In a culture where being a warrior is a very integral part of everyday lives, having courage is a key component of social survival. To have courage means to be able to defend a kingdom by every means possible. It means protecting and ascertaining the wellbeing of the people within one s own kingdom. And above all, courage means remaining loyal to one s king, regardless of the circumstance. This is the warrior culture that Beowulf in Beowulf was a part of successfully as a thane, and the same warrior culture that leads the narrator in The Wanderer to lament past memories. In Beowulf, the fight between Grendel and Beowulf was certainly a nail biter. In this fight, however, Beowulf shows his courage by doing his absolute best at defending the kingdom by taking on this gruesome monster. Grendel was wreaking havoc on the kingdom to no end. He was killing many and terrorizing the citizens greatly. When Beowulf heard of this, as a courageous thane, he stepped in to try to stop this and protect the people. Hygelac s kinsman kept [Grendel] helplessly locked in a handgrip. As long as either lived, he was hateful to the other. The monster s whole body was in pain; a tremendous wound appeared on his shoulder. Sinews split and the bone lappings burst. Beowulf was granted the glory of winning; Grendel was driven under the fen banks, fatally hurt, to his desolate lair (Lines ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Therefore, there was not comparable increase in their exports. On the contrary, the rise of montage industries which used imported components to assemble the products primarily (i.e. electronic goods, motor vehicles, consumer durables, etc) meant that industrial growth required ever more imports. Paradoxically, the attempts at import substitution to decrease its trade balance deficit tended to aggravate it. This strategy also caused other problems: the capital intensive nature of many industrial investments, especially those in the intermediate goods sector, caused employment in industry to grow relatively more slowly, which lead to structural unemployment. Moreover, dependence on imported petroleum to develop its industry made the country highly vulnerable to increases in oil prices. These are the threats for the country to achieve sustainable economic growth. Late 1970s and early 1980s: Economic Reform In the late 1970s, the industrial sector of Turkey had reached a turning point. In the short run, it needed to decrease the trade balance deficit. It was facing shortages of energy, imported machinery parts, and processing materials. These had caused a decline in industrial output during the last few years of the decade. The dictionary defines sleep as the natural periodic suspension of consciousness during which the powers of the body are restored (Webster 638). However, there is a percentage of the population that has difficulty achieving and maintaining Stage 4, the stage that lets both the body and mind fall into a deep sleep, in their sleep pattern. Stage 4 of sleep is also known as REM sleep. Obstructive sleep apnea can be very treacherous if it is not properly detected or treated. The rate of reaction is dependent upon the change of concentration over the change in time (p. 14). The objection of this lab was to establish the order of reaction with respect to persulfate ion and the overall rate constant. Experimental Procedure: For this lab, you will need three beakers that have a volume of 150mL, 2 graduated cylinders that have a volume of 10mL and a stopwatch (Shelton, 2018 p. 15). The Chicago Tribune published an article that urged readers to report child abuse when they become aware of it. In the article Child abuse in plain View the author describes spanking as a type of abuse that happens behind closed doors ( Child abuse in plain View ). Like most critics of corporal punishment, the author is trying to link spanking to abuse. The author`s concern about abuse is a valid one. Abuse should be reported immediately. However, any attempt to define spanking as abuse is wrong. Spanking a child is not abuse. It is an effective way of discipline that helps guide the child into becoming a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends that parents do not spank their children at all. They think that time out and removal of privileges is better than corporal punishment ( Child Abuse in Plain View ). The AAP should know that balance is the key when it comes to discipline. Incorrectly using any form of discipline can have negative effects. Placing a child in time out too much may cause the child to become withdrawn. Constantly yelling at a child could cause a child to feel angry or depressed. Spanking a child for every mishap could cause a child to be fearful of making a mistake. The bottom line is that every child is different. What works for one child may not work for the other. Some children respond well to time out. For some, a spanking may the best way to correct unwanted behavior. Parents should decide what is best for the child, at that moment. Parents should also decide whether the child s behavior is a direct challenge of authority, when deciding which discipline method to use (Dobson 29). A child who decides to be an artist for the day and draws on the wall is not being defiant. On the other hand, a child who continues to draw on the wall after being warned not to, several times is being defiant. A child who does not clean up his room should not be disciplined the same as a child who curses his parents. Corporal punishment may be the best solution for deliberate disrespect. Though the Anglican Church was strong in Britain, its decline is clearly shown when Ugandan migrants who are Anglican Christians try to find a church in Britain. • 24. Peptic Ulcer Disease and Pediatric Patients PUD is not as common in pediatric patients when compared to adult incidences. The most common cause of PUD in pediatrics is due to Helicobacter pylori (H.pylori) infection (Guariso Gasparetto, 2012). Primitive ulcers, due to H. pylori, cause changes in the gastric or duodenal mucosa and alter gastric function such as overproduction of HCl and pepsin, resulting in ulcer forming lesions (Guariso Gasparetto, 2012). NSAIDs, stress and other extra gastric pathogenic events cause secondary ulcers within the stomach. The underlying pathology of PUD is due to the reduction of prostaglandins that serve as a protective mechanism on the gastric mucosa. Patients most commonly present with dull stomach ache or pain usually after a meal. Gas, bloating, nausea and vomiting are some less common symptoms. PUD, although rare when compared to adults, is reported worldwide in children and most commonly identified as initiated by H. pylori infection and the use of NSAIDs occurring in the second decade of life. Other events such as stress, shock, or major trauma can trigger acute ulcers in children but there is a hereditary family history component that increases acid output and accelerates gastric emptying in more than 20% of patients (Guariso Gasparetto, 2012). Although H. pylori infection is the more common cause of PUD, the use of NSAIDs increases the risk of acquiring PUD (Guariso Gasparetto, 2012). The expectations for reliability of the cloud continues to grow as more and more applications are developed based on cloud service. To meet those expectations, cloud service providers need to understand the challenges and find ways to increase the reliability of cloud services, and also ways to avoid the risks. Some of the risks that affect the reliability of the cloud is co residency and multi tenancy, downtime, and latency challenges. Co residency is when multiple services are held in a server. This makes it difficult to predict the performance of an application. Reliability can be affected by other services that are busy. Multi tenancy is when multiple independent instances of an application can be consolidated on a single virtualized platform. The instances can then be available simultaneously to various groups of users. Multi tenancy has the same cost benefits and challenges as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

During Chrysler s more profitable years the company has made several successful strategic acquisitions such as the one during the 1920s when Chrysler bought the Dodge Brothers firm. Because of this, many tragedies occurred since that time. On March 25, 1911 at precisely 4:45 p.m. the fire alarm was pulled on the eighth floor of the Triangle Shirtwaist Company factory. Being a shirtwaist company, the factory was filled with an abundance of fabric, which was highly flammable. The factory`s workers were mostly young female immigrants of an Italian or Jewish origin. Out of 500 employees that worked in the factory, 146 people were killed. As a result of this disaster, legal action was taken against the factory workers, modifications and reforms were made to the fire safety rules, and advances were made in workplace conditions. The government and the employers are both responsible for ensuring proper standards in the workplace because the government must make the laws, and the employers must enforce them. Although the employees must also follow the rules and laws to stay safe themselves, the responsibility is mostly in the government and employers. The owners of the Triangle Shirtwaist Company factory did not provide appropriate conditions for their employees. From low pay, long hours, to even child labor were the conditions they had to endure. The employers should be required to provide an adequate work space for each employee and a minimum wage that is consistent and not interchangeable.
