Users will now be able to save Office files with missing required properties. This change will apply only to the Office files synced by the OneDrive sync client. The document properties will continue to be available for viewing and editing through the document backstage by going to File Info. This change will lead to performance improvements.
Users will be able to manage access permissions, remove individual recipients from shared links or stop sharing overall - all when working within the OneDrive classic user interface. When you go to a file or folder's information pane and click "Manage access," you're taken to a more modern interface to review, add, adjust and remove access to a file - inline with where the file lives - OneDrive or SharePoint. you can also see and manage any and all sharing links that have created on the file or folder.
Four key pillars in the File sharing and collaboration space:
Create and edit, any device, anywhere
Share files, work together in real-time, co-auth
Organize files, coordinate workflows between individuals or teams
Find content that matters most, get back to the files I need
Of course, fundamental aspect is security and protection of files.

The Share command now sends shareable links by default rather than granting permissions to specific people like the old Invite people tab. This better matches user expectations that links sent in email can be forwarded to others by default. In other words, Share does the same thing as Copy link except it enables users to send the link immediately to recipients via email.
Both the Share and Copy link commands now default to the same permissions and use the same link settings.

We offer the ability for end users to preview over 320 different file types including Adobe formats, 3-D and DICOM Medical Images to name a few all without needing an installed application. And we continue to add more.
We invested heavily in our sync and Files On-Demand technology allowing user to work with all their files in the familiar experience of Windows Files Explorer and Mac Finder without taking up storage space on their PC or Mac.
Our top-rated mobile apps give user access to files while on the go allow them to capture photos and documents from the world around them.
Lastly, we see OneDrive as the files app for Microsoft 365 enabling user to access all their shared content across Microsoft 365, inclusive of SharePoint and Microsoft Teams, in addition to their personal files.
Our goal has been to make the experience ubiquitous no matter what platform you are using from Mac and Windows to iOS and Android. One experience to for all your files.
Pause for feedback on if we are the best in this area. And if not, what are we missing
Intuitive and reliable sharing is critical for files collaboration and we’re investing heavily in this. Not only in OneDrive, but ensuring we have consistent experience regardless of where you are sharing a file from, SharePoint, Teams, Office, etc. And you can do this easily to people outside the organization even without a Microsoft accounts. Eugene will show this in a demo.
Co-authoring Office documents is huge productivity gain for our customers and it’s hard to not imagine having this. Only with your files in Microsoft 365 can you collaborate real-time using the Office web apps AND Office desktop clients. You can’t do that with your files stored on files shares, Box, Dropbox, or in Google Drive.
We also realize user habits are hard to break so we want to make this new way of content collaboration easy and integrated into how they work today. As such you can easily share cloud attachments in Outlook and @mention people in Office documents to bring them into the action.
When working with others, document metadata, labels and workflow can help coordinate and provide structure to your business processes. Using the OneDrive UI, users can easily view metadata and use that to sort, filter, or change their file views.
We want to make defining and working with metadata as easy as possible. Team members can use attention views, a visual reminder that files require additional action, and bulk metadata editing to ensure each file remains compliant and healthy.
For field inspection and other image capture scenarios, the OneDrive mobile app allows you to quickly collect photos along with associated metadata while on the go. An example is a Firstline worker taking a picture of a piece of equipment in the field and entering the condition, equipment id, and other important metadata attributes all from their phone.
Our data governance features allow administrators to create labels, shared across Office 365, that can be applied to files and thereby enforce policies for records management or retention. Many retention policies are time based, such as keeping contracts for at least seven years.
Lastly, Microsoft Flow provides out of the box automation capabilities. Every library will allow you to route a document for review and feedback. For more complex processes users can build a custom Flow with a new action that supports things such as SharePoint check in and approval. Chris will give a demo of this now.

With the intelligence of the Microsoft Graph we have a way to help users find the files that matter most through improved search relevancy. Using information about your working relationships with others (the meetings you have, the emails you send, the files you share, etc.), we create personalized recommendations to help you find information faster and discover content you might not have been aware of. Microsoft Graph respects privacy, so that only those files you explicitly share will be visible.
This is only available with your files in Microsoft 365. Not your files stored in Box, not your files stored in Dropbox, and definitely not your files stored in Google Drive.
When you add images and files to Office 365 with use machine learning to categorize and index them so you can easy search for like receipts, pictures or business cards automatically.
OneDrive makes it easy to get back your recent files easily across web, mobile and Office. Opening my recent files from the Word, PowerPoint and Excel backstage. And once files have been shared with you, you can easily get back those as well.

Roadmap
Security of customer data is critical. With new features like IRM sync, Multi Geo capabilities as well the ability to hold your own Azure encryption key are critical to admins. We feel our global scale and ability to meet our customers complex compliance requirements are industry leading .
For end users, we want to ensure they can seamlessly protect their files in the Microsoft cloud with the ability to back up their device camera roll or make the cloud their default storage location for their files. We do with known folder move, redirecting the Documents, Pictures, and Desktop folders of their Windows PC to the cloud.
Once those are in the cloud, we allow users to restore their files in the event of malicious attack, file corruption or accidental delete. They can get back to a good state with just a few clicks.
Lastly, we realize some customers have a slower journey to the cloud and as such have hybrid capabilities to bring together the power of Microsoft with the content in their datacenter.

Uses the same sharing UI
Anyone with this link: A shareable link that can be sent to others. It behaves like email. You can forward it to others or add people to the thread and it will work. This option does not require recipients to sign-in and hence is the most convenient for recipients. Use this for sharing content that can be freely shared with others, including people outside your organization. If you want people with the link to lose access after a certain date, you can optionally set an expiration date on the link.
Only people in [organization]: Users who open the link must sign-in or be signed-in to a non-guest account in your organization. It behaves like email with restrictions on it. You can forward it to others or add people to the thread, as long as the people added are inside your organization. If any external user gets a hold of the link, they will not be able to use it. Use this for sharing internal-only content.
Specific people: Grant permission only to the people you list. The link will only work for those people (and others who already have access to the item). If recipients want to send this link to anyone else, they need to ensure those recipients have been granted permission to the resource, otherwise the link won’t work. This option produces behavior similar to the "Invite people" tab in the old sharing UI.

If there is even location data on the photo, we make it searchable.

In a multi-geo configuration, your Office 365 tenant consists of a central location (also known as a default location) and one or more satellite geo locations. The key concept of multi-geo is that a single tenancy will span across one multiple geo locations. In a Multi-Geo tenant, the information about geo locations, groups, and user information, is mastered in Azure Active Directory (AAD). Because your tenant information is mastered centrally and synchronized into each geo location, sharing and experiences involving anyone from your company contain global awareness.
Now you can see active accounts, file activity and view all OneDrive Message Center messages right from the OneDrive admin console. We have also added a slider to make moving from most to least permissive sharing permissions easier.
