Improvements for the Texas Capital Punishment System Essay
Improvements for the Texas Capital Punishment System Few issues in the United States today are as
emotionally charged and controversial as the death penalty. Formally know as capital punishment, the
death penalty has been hotly debated not only as a legal issue, but as a religious, ethical, and political
one, historically as well as in the present day. Although many states currently administer the death
penalty, Texas has been put in the spot light this past year because of the recent presidential race. The
moral question of whether or not it is right to kill another human being is ever present in today s
society. However, when looking at it from a political standpoint, one must also consider whether or ...

However, this is a very non factual picture. There is very little to no blood in electrocutions. Secondly,
the method of choice is currently lethal injection. In response to those who fondly quote the eighth
amendment, the Constitution actually makes reference to the death penalty not one, but twice. The
first occurrence is in the fifth amendment of the Bill of Rights, which says that, no person shall be
held to answer for a capital...crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury... nor be
deprived of life... without due process of law (Stewart 21). In other words, the Constitution is
specifying that the death penalty may be used, but warns that there are certain stipulations that must
first be met. The second mentioning is in the Fourteenth Amendment which says states shall not,
deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process (Stewart 22). Once again, the same
law regarding the death penalty is passed on to the states. In either case, the constitution is permitting
the death penalty, but stating that there must be a due process in which the verdict is made. The death
penalty was legalized in Texas in 1923. It was instituted as an alternative to lynching and county level
executions. Since Texas was a rather prejudice state, lynching were common after the abolition of
slavery. After the death penalty was instituted, the number of lynchings was significantly

Abstract. Coherent Optical Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (CO OFDM) technique is
extensively reconnoitered for next generation optical communication system emerges attractive
pathway towards future implementation of 1 Tb/s Ethernet systems. This paper proposed the design of
100 Gb/s CO OFDM system based on the dual polarization of signal. The performance of 100 Gb/s
CO OFDM system using Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) format transmitted over 576 km
optical link using standard SMF is evaluated. The performance of the system in terms of signal to
noise ratio (SNR), bit error rate (BER), laser linewidth, chromatic dispersion and receiving
constellation diagram to accomplish excellent system. Eventually, dual polarization based CO OFDM
system has high spectral efficiency as compared to conventional CO OFDM and invokes enhance
track for the high speed optical communication system.

Advantages Of Open Lunch
When an argument is in the happening, it is always important to listen to, and understand both sides to
the story. Such as how seniors, or even students in high school would like to have open lunch instead
of having to stay in school during lunch hours. The administration is not allowing this to happen, for
they believe they cannot trust the students enough. The reason they think they cannot trust the students
is because of students breaking their trust in different matters. This has caused other students the
inability to be given a chance at gaining a teacher, or even the administrations trust. But if the
administration would look at this from the student s point of view, they could possibly see why
students are upset by not having an open lunch hour. The administration seems to think that all
students will act the same if given the privilege of an open lunch hour. But this is because they aren t
looking at this from a student s point of view. Many students are well behaved in school, and deserve
trust from teachers and such. If those students aren t allowed an open lunch hour, because of some
irresponsible student actions, then you could see why that could be irritating to the well behaved
students. Also if the schools lunch isn t something that the student wants to eat that day, the student
should be able to go out and eat, because lunch is a very important meal. I know that if I don t eat a
good breakfast, and I come to school I can t really concentrate on working

Target Vs Best Buy Essay
Best Buy is widely established as one of the leading consumer electronic stores across the globe,
labeled as a category killer retailer within the consumer electronics genre. Target, a discount store, acts
as one of the many competitors within the electronics field despite the store having a wider breadth of
available merchandise for the customer to consider. Ranging from clothing to furniture to even a
section for groceries, Target aims to meet many needs that the consumer may have. Best Buy caters to
a more narrow selection of needs such as appliances, television and home theater, car electronics, and
more. Their focused range gives them the benefit of being able to provide a better selection of
products within each respective category so the customer is able to find specifically what they are
searching for, while Target has a lesser product breadth and depth since they possess a larger range of
merchandise categories. According to Best Buy s corporate page, more than 70% of the U.S.
population lives within 15 minutes of a Best Buy location (Target Corporate. (2018). With over 1,500
stores in North America, Best Buy primarily operates in the suburbs, but does have a few locations

approach customers unless prompted to. The electronic department is the sole location in the store

The Battle Of Massachusetts Bay Colony
In the early 1600s, colonies such as Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Maryland, were built on various
religious principles. In addition to the colonist focus on gaining their independence and having the
freedom to live as they chose; away for England s ruling. However, religion was a major battle for
those upcoming settlements. Many had their own perception of what they thought was the truth about
the Bible and if anyone opposed their belief, harm was due to them.
Around this time, many searched earnestly for the truth, so to find it, they came up with different
denominations of Christianity such as Puritans, Protestants, and Catholic. These religions drifted away
from Biblical principles and turned to what individuals chose to believe and/or not believe. By this,
colonies of Rhode Island, Maryland, and Massachusetts were built and greatly influenced by such
beliefs.
In Massachusetts, John Winthrop, the first governor of Massachusetts Bay Colony, told his fellow
Puritans that they were a chosen people on a divine mission (Tindall 71). Which led them to the desire
of wanting to set an example for England of what godly people looked like. Winthrop was a man who
believed in leading religiously and in order; not democratically. By this, if you were a Dissenter,
religions such as Quakers or Catholics, you were persecuted and sometimes it lead to death. Those
who weren t Puritan s had very few rights and one would be the right to vote (Tindall 73). The

Parental Loss At A Young Age
Introduction
Parental loss at a young age has been linked to heightened risk of psychological problems in
adulthood, especially depression and lower self confidence (Mack, 2001; Mireault Bond, 1992; Saler
Skolnick, 1992*) It has also been linked to several different health conditions including chronic pain,
hypertension, heart disease, and immune disorders (Luekin Lemery, 2004; McEwen Seeman, 2006).
The way a child grieves over a lost parent shapes the way that information is interpreted and stored in
the brain as well (Lupien, Ouellet Morin, Hupbach, Tu, Buss, Walker, et al., 2006; Vanitallie, 2002)
and it can influence whether or not life events are defined as stressful (Lupien et al., 2006). Studies
conducted concerning childhood bereavement suggest that early parental loss can lead to the
development of poorly regulated neuro emotional response systems (Brotman, Gouley, Klein,
Castellanos Pine, 2003) and the alteration of brain structures that help with memory and cognitive
functioning (Lupien et al., 2006; Vanitallie, 2002). Because of the impact of the loss, often times,
children need help to recover from the loss of their parent. There have been several studies conducted
on effective interventions and strategies when it comes to helping a child grieve and recover from the
loss of their loved one.
Stages of Grief and the Grieving Process
Grieving children commonly pass through five different stages of grief, although they do not follow a
particular pattern

GE s Imagination Breakthroughs: The Evo Project
As he prepared for the December 2006 meeting with GE s CEO Jeff Immelt, Pierre Comte faced some
difficult decisions. Only eight months into his job as chief marketing officer (CMO) of GE s
Transportation business, Comte would be presenting Transportation s recommendations on some of
the most visible growth initiatives in its locomotive business projects that had been designated

Immelt Takes Charge: New Demands, New Responsesa
On Friday, September 7, 2001, 43 year old Jeff Immelt became GE s ninth CEO in its 109 year
history. Four days later, two planes crashed into the World Trade Center towers. In the turmoil that
followed, an already fragile post Internet bubble stock market dropped further, and the subsequent
downturn in the economy resulted in a drop in confidence that spread rapidly around the globe.
Despite his many efforts to tighten operations while continuing to grow the business, the new
CEO did not have an easy initiation as he tried to deal with the resulting economic downturn, the post
Enron suspicions of large corporations, and the growing global political instability. In 2002, after
promising that earnings would grow by double digits, Immelt had to report a modest 7% increase in
GE s profits on revenues that were up only 5% on the 2001 sales, which had declined 3% from the
prior year. (See Exhibit 1 for GE financials, 1996 2006.) By the end of 2002, GE s stock was trading
at
$24, down 39% from a year earlier and 60% from its all time high of $60 in August 2000. With
considerable understatement, Immelt said, This was not a great year to be a rookie CEO. 1

Harvey Milk Language Analysis
The movie, Milk, released in 2008, focuses on Harvey Milk, who was the first openly gay man to
come out and be elected into public office. Throughout the movie, there were many events that had an
impact on how the LGBTQ community was viewed and on gay politicians and politics in America.
This film also inspired many. One of the first events that had an impact on the LGBTQ community
was when Harvey Milk was elected in the Californian public office. This was the most impactful event
in the film because this brought the gay community together and their rights were finally taken into
account. It was also a memorable moment for Harvey Milk as this was the third time trying and he
finally won. He was also the third openly homosexual politician in the entire US. The gay community
started to feel like they re not alone and they re one of them as well. They felt more welcomed once
Milk was elected and felt that there was finally someone to represent them in the community as a
whole and stand up for their rights together. This also had a lot of impact on gay politicians and
politics in America. A lot of his relationships messed up with his gay friends and other friends because
of his devotion to politics. He meets Dan White, but a lot of their opinions differ and this has a
negative impact on their relationship because Milk opposes the projects that Dan White ... Show more

A Report On The Concrete, Fly Ash, Sodium Silicate
KEY WORDS
Geopolymer concrete, Fly ash, Sodium Silicate, Sodium Hydroxide, curing.
INTRODUCTION
In 1978, Davidovits suggested that a binder could be generated by a polymerization process including
a response between soluble fluids and mixes containing aluminium and silicon. The folios made were
termed as geo polymers . Not at all like normal Portland/ pozzolanic bonds, geopolymers don t frame
calcium silicate hydrates (CSHs) for matrix formative and strength , yet silica and alumina responding
with an alkaline solution and creates an alumina silicate gel that ties the aggregates and gives the
strength of concrete ,source materials and antacid fluids/alkaline fluids are the tow primary
constituents of geo polymers, the strengths of which rely on the nature of the materials and the sorts of
fluids.
Materials containing silicon (Si) and aluminum (Al) in indistinct structure, which originate from
characteristic materials or by item materials, could be utilized as source materials for geopolymers.
kaolinite, clay, etc., are incorporated into the common materials bunch though fly cinder, silica smoke,
granulated ground blast slag, rice husk fiery debris, red mud etc., are by products obtained from
various sources. For the production of geo polymers, the decision of source materials depends majorly
on their accessibility and expense, the sort of utilization and the particular interest of the clients. Fly
powder based geo polymers cements give phenomenal building properties that

Who Is The New Wave Of British Heavy Metal Affect The...
Musical expression and tastes are dynamic, always evolving to suit the desires of the listeners. From
1979 to about 1983, a New Wave of metal was a major force in the music industry. Before the New
Wave could begin, however, a strong foundation of Heavy Metal was laid by bands such as Black
Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, and Deep Purple. The New Wave of British Heavy Metal changed music
completely by influencing many bands and creating several new genres. Heavy metal is a genre that
developed in the late 1960s and the early 1970s in the United States and the United Kingdom. Heavy
metal was influenced by mostly blues, psychedelic rock, prog rock, punk, and classic metal. The
elements of heavy metal consists of highly amped distortion, extended guitar solos, emphatic beats,
loudness, and more. The line up of a heavy metal band commonly consists of a drummer, bassist,
rhythm guitarist, lead guitarist, and the singer. Some bands even had a keyboardist. Bands like Led
Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath helped create this new genre. Judas priest also had a major
role in the development in the genre as well. Motörhead was influenced by punk, which was huge in
the 70s, and they kept that punk like sound which helped with the base of metal by increasing ... Show

How Does A Clockwork Orange Relate To Psychology
A Clockwork Orange Analysis Paper In the movie A Clockwork Orange, the main character Alex is a
deviant adolescent who commits many violent and sexual atrocities and is eventually jailed for them.
While in jail, Alex is given the opportunity to shorten his sentence if he would participate in an
experiment. This experiment actually involved the Ludovico Technique, a form of aversion therapy
where the participator watches film of his antisocial behavior and presumably enjoys it, but afterwards
is given a drug to make him feel sick while he watches the same film. This leads the participant to
associate the film with the negative feeling in the stomach, and presumably would lead to him
associating the antisocial behavior with the bad feeling. In the movie, Alex goes through this
procedure, watching video of violence and rape, and is later shown to be incapable of assaulting a man
who belittles him and is violently ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The film provides a good example for how classical conditioning is used in the world. Skinner s
theories of behaviorism are introduced in many of the scenes throughout the movie. According to
Skinner, acquisition and retention of new behaviors would elicit rewards. Pavlov s theory of classical
conditioning involves a stimulus and a response that are connected (Myers, 2013). Using the injection,
classical conditioning was used to make Alex feel ill every time he watched the films. Thus, every
time Alex felt the urge to be violent he would associate those feelings with physical illness and
respond by not responding and lashing out. According to Thorndike s Law of Effect, we only repeat
behaviors that provide us with a desired effect. Since violence was no longer a behavior that gave him
pleasure, he could no longer obtain the same gratification as before. Alex extinguished his behaviors
because they were no longer

Statistics Is The Science Of Collecting Data And Analyzing It
Statistics is the science of collecting data and analyzing it in large quantities to predict or prepare
outcomes based on data gathered. This paper will share with you an insight as to what I learned over
the past five weeks in Business Statistics. It will include a detailed look at descriptive statistics,
inferential statistics, hypothesis development and testing, selection of appropriate statistical tests,
evaluating statistical results, and a close look at the role of statistics. Business statistics has changed
the way managers manage, with so much information at everyone s finger tips and with companies

We try to conclude from the evidence what a sample group may think. For inferential statistics, we use
it to make decisions on the probability of the observed difference between the groups and if it is
dependable or just happened by chance based on the group. ...we use inferential statistics to make
inferences from our data to more general conditions; we use descriptive statistics simple to describe
what s going on in our data (socialresearchmethods.net). An example of inferential statistics is, a gym
teacher wants to know the average amount of three point shots the students in this particular school
can make in 30 seconds, he chooses only the students on the basketball team to sample it, the results
he get would not be a representative sample simply because that does not represent a random sample
of the entire school, but the results he gets and writes from this test would be considered an inferential
statistic.
In quantitative research we are trying to answer a question or prove a hypothesis that we have. To do
this, in statistics there is a process call hypothesis testing or otherwise known as a significance test.
When doing a significance test, we must first set up our hypothesis or educated guess as to what we
think the research will prove. For our example, we are going to take a coin with both a heads side and

Should hospitals test pregnant women for drug use without their consent?
Hospitals, during their normal course of treatment should test pregnant women for drugs of any type,
whether legal or not. Of course, the patient should be informed of such testing, but consent should not
be required. Findings of illegal drugs should be used to educate and treat the mother for an addiction
rather than informing law enforcement of such an activity.
Hospitals are in the business of treating people s ailments and promoting health. Reporting of illegal
drug use should be left to law enforcement. An exception to the rule is if the illegal activity is

This is why hospitals must use drug abuse information gained by testing to educate and treat the
addiction. The good that such education and treatment not only benefits mother and child but ripples
throughout the entire community and economy.
Hospitals also have a duty and obligation to protect the mother s right to privacy. Releasing medical
and treatment information without their consent is a violation of HIPAA, Health Insurance Portability
and Accountability Act, and of the Privacy Rule that protects mother s personal health information
from being disclosed, again without consent. Hospitals are to be in compliance of the law but not to
enforce it. That should be left to law enforcement to handle. Disclosure to law enforcement without
consent may also be a violation of the mother s 4th Amendment right, the right against unreasonable
search and seizure. Again, the mother has the right to privacy; to be secure in their persons, houses,
papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures ... , in this case, their medical

Speaking of law enforcement, law enforcement may prosecute the mother of a crime that has not been

income securities. However, they are more difficult to analyse. Fixed income securities typically have
a limited life and a well defined cash flow stream. Equity shares have neither. While the basic
principles of valuation are the same for fixed income securities as well as equity shares, the factors of
growth and risk create greater complexity in the case of equity shares . As our discussion of market
efficiency suggested, identifying mispriced securities is not easy. Yet there are enough chinks in the
efficient market hypothesis and hence the search for mispriced securities cannot be dismissed out of
hand. Moreover, remember that is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Impact Of Immigration Policies On Communities And The...
The Impact of Immigration Policies on Communities and the Future of West Michigan I m 50%
Dutch, 25% German, 15% Polish and a 10% mixture of others I can t remember. Does this sound
familiar at all? These types of phrases were one of the first things to befuddle my perception of my
new found West Michigan friends when our family first moved up to Grand Rapids from a small town
in Texas in 2008. It perpetually amazed me as to how so many people had so many different percents
and a few even impressed me more so by knowing them to decimal place. Many shared their heritage
with a swelling pride, and I soon came to learn that this source of pride actually came from West
Michigan s history built upon immigrants which can be traced back all the way to the 18th century.
From the huge mass of Dutch immigrants that brought us tulips to the Germans that brought us one of
our favorite foods, hot dogs, immigration has had a significant impact in creating our West Michigan
culture and industrializing our economy (Nickmanes). With immigration policies today, people from a
diverse pool of nationalities such as Hispanic, Asian, Arabic, European and many others continue
come to West Michigan and call it home. These immigrants today help develop our community and
our economy, in ways that are sometimes overlooked, and leave an overall positive impact just like the
many immigrants embedded in many of our genes ( New Americans in Michigan. ). Immigrants have

President Ronald Reagan s Speech
On June 12, 1987, the United States 40th President, Ronald Reagan, gave one of his most famous
speeches, Remarks at the Brandenburg Gate. In this speech Reagan s aimed to expand democracy
through Easter Berlin. Throughout the speech, Reagan used rhetorical devices that made his speech
affective. By balancing ethos, logos and pathos in his speech Reagan was able to persuade the Soviet
Union leader, Mikhail Gorbachev, and his partisans take a step forward in creating a world piece and
reunite East Berlin with West Berlin. Reagan also used repetition, strands as well as Maslow s
Hierarchy of Needs to address his audience s principal needs.
In this speech, Remarks at the Brandenburg Gate, President Ronald Reagan used problem solution
organization style to get his main points across. Throughout the speech, Reagan provided some of the
issues that the people in East and West Berlin faced and then proffered few simple solutions that could
resolve those problems. Demolishing the Berlin Wall was one solution that was proposed by Reagan.
The Berlin Wall service as a barrier that divided families and friends, which interrupted; the Berlin
Wall also prevents democracy from spreading to East Germany. Reagan used language that was easy
to comprehend, he knew who his audiences were whether they oppose him or supposed him. As a
formal actor he knows how to grab his audience s attention. By verbalizing the past, the present and
the future Reagan was able to illustrate the condition

Capitalismism And Environment
In order to answer questions about: if green consumption being able to solve environmental problems,
if purchasing eco friendly products as well as green technology is the answer to global environmental
degradation, and if capitalism is able to save the environment or not, background information certainly
needs to be presented before my personal opinion is contributed.
To introduce capitalism, society, and the environment, I would like to begin with the statement that
humans affect nature, or the natural environment. Pollution and depletion are two ways this happens.
On one side with pollution, the environment becomes contaminated by toxic items. On the other side
with depletion, the environment s natural resources are being exhausted. Even though both are
negative and both are bad for the environment, not one of them is necessarily better to have. To
discuss capitalism, seeking profit and private property is what capitalism strives for. This is essentially
their main desire. In slightly simpler words, it seeks to collect capital, or money. Capitalism affects the
environment in a negative way, but it also causes stratification. The way it does this is by exploiting
workers.
Thinkers who are Ecological Marxists are contemporary thinkers who added onto Karl Marx s theory
original proposed thought processes about capitalism. Ecological Marxist Theory brings to light the
issues between capitalism s means of production and the environment. It explains how capitalism is

Servant Leadership Thompson
Samantha, I think that at some time everyone has encouraged or talked with someone else about which
path they should follow, whether it should be one of a career, or a vocation. In dealing with those
around me, it would depend on their situation, and whether this is a short term goal, as it can be with a
certain career, or whether they have the means to follow their own heart as in choosing a vocation.
Using these criteria, I would probably do things a little differently, considering what I now understand
about servant leadership. In the scenario present by Thompson about Annie (Thompson, p. 39) this
individual represents someone that is a little older (she had job security with a Fortune 200 company)
and had worked there nineteen years.

Iago s Jealousy In Othello, The Moor Of Venice
Othello is one of William Shakespeare s most famous dramas. Othello is called a tragedy and has been
a popular play throughout the history of literature and drama. The non shortened original title of this
play is The Tragedy of Othello, The Moor of Venice. There are several key points of analysis that can
be found when reading Othello. These include specific themes, irony, symbolism, and tone. Each of
these devices add to the overall meanings in a specific way, Shakespeare placed them within the play
for the reader to understand. The prominent theme in Othello is jealousy. It s a theme that is present
throughout the entire play. Iago, who the main villain of the play, is jealous of Othello and the power
he has. Iago s jealousy is what leads to the conflict later into the play. In the beginning, Iago expresses
his hate for Othello, One Micheal Cassio, a Florentine....As masterly as he: mere prattle, without
practice in all his soldiership. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Shakespeare s time, this was not widely viewed as acceptable and this is why it causes conflict in
the play. Even though Othello has a high position of power and is highly respected, his race is always
brought into the picture and never seems to be forgotten. The tone of Othello is mostly bitter. This is
mainly due to Iago s conflict throughout. He influences the other characters, especially Othello, and
causes them to become bitter as well. Each character is emotionally affected by Iago and his ability to
get inside each individual mind. For example, Othello is overcome with emotions from his heartbreak
when finding out that Desdemona has been seeing Cassio that he kills Desdemona and later himself.
He also stabs Iago when he finds out all of the lies that he has told. The irrational emotions and actions
that follow make the ton depressing as

Ebonics is Not a Seperate Language but Improper Form of...
The United States is filled with many different ethnicities, cultures, customs, languages, etc.
Supposedly, our public schools are equipped with classes, teachers, curriculums and materials in order
to educate that part of the student population whose first language is something other than the English
language. Bilingual classes, transitional classes, ESL classes are just a few of the programs that have
been developed to instruct non English speaking students in order for them to acquire the English
language. However, there has been a language use among African American students; language that

As a result of many students using ebonics in a school setting, it has been recognized in our
educational system and it is believed that the understanding, the application, the principles, the laws
and the structure of ebonics would help African American students (Amended Resolution of the Board
of Education, 1997. P. 1). Ebonics would be used to help learn Standard English. Therefore, ebonics
has been studied for the last 15 years due to the State of California recognizing the unique language
stature of descendants of Africans (Amended Resolution of the Board of Education, 1997. P. 1). As a
result, the State of California is trying to mandate an education program that is in the interest of
vindicating their equal protection of the law rights under the 14 Amendment (Amended Resolution of

What the Two Proposals in Pride and Prejudice Reveal...
Pride and Prejudice is a novel fixated on marriage: throughout, all the action occurs within scenes
devoted to either the talk of marriage or actual proposals. This cannot be expounded more than within
the very first line: It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good
fortune must be in want of a wife . Here, at the beginning of the novel, a definite, though somewhat
sarcastic, statement introduces the main theme of the novel marriage and, possibly more importantly,
not love.
The stark divide between love and marriage shown right the way through cannot be comprehended
fully by the twenty first century reader: in today s society marriage and love are mutually exclusive

This is the reason both proposals are declined: Elizabeth is of a mind that she will not marry for social
security or for money only love could tempt her into matrimony. The first proposal is from Mr Collins,
a man to whom Elizabeth was not even his first choice; Jane, the eldest and most beautiful, was his
first fancy, but when informed that she had been privately engaged, he swiftly switches to Elizabeth,
who is equally next to Jane in birth and beauty . His introduction to Elizabeth is not a pleasant one,
although he is too ignorant to notice; she finds him a conceited, pompous, narrow minded, silly man .
Her observation is quite correct, and illustrated to the greatest affect in his proposal speech.
Collins does not seem to possess his own conception of love: he intends to get married merely because
it is the particular advice and recommendation of Lady Catherine de Bourgh, his patron and first love .
He even goes so far as to explain this to Elizabeth within his proposal; Mr Collins you must marry,
Chuse...a gentle woman for my [Lady Catherine s] sake , showing his complete inaptitude to
understand the feelings of others. No mutual acquaintance and love between each other was needed.
Marriage, to Collins, was only a right thing for every clergyman in easy circumstances . Apart from
explaining in his highly verbose manner that he is marrying because he was told to, he

The military became more aggressive and was one of the causes for the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Hirohito didn t really care to be in World War 2 but also wanted to support Japan s involvement. There
s still no evidence about his involvement with Japan and the war during this time. In September 1945,
after the US dropped the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Hirohito finally had enough and
broke the silence and announced Japan s surrender to the Allied Forces. Japan lost 2.3 million soldiers
and an educated guess of 800,000 civilians during World War 2. Doug MacArthur was sent to Japan to
see its rehabilitation. Japan found itself occupied by the United States for years. The United States
began introducing democratic reforms to them. Many people wanted Hirohito to be tried as a war
criminal, but General Douglas MacArthur bargained with him that included a new Japanese
constitution and denouncement of divinity. Hirohito then became a democratic figurehead. Hirohito
remained an big figure in Japan until his death. He was the head of state and played a big role in

A modern Christian s life, calling and service draws on the examples of Jesus Christ and biblical
personalities. Although over 2,000 years has elapsed since Christ s response to gods call, there are
many who have continued to respond to god s call on their lives to serve him and others. Louis
Zamperini from the biography Unbroken written by Laura Illenbrad is a specific example of the
modern man who has responded to gods call through key events that has changed his view towards
god. Similarly, Abraham from the bible was also called to do gods work but in a different set of
circumstances. Louis Zamperini was born into a vastly different family environment to Abraham.
Louis Zamperini was born to Italian immigrant parents in America. Louis family were middle class

Silver Bullion Bars Research Paper
Electricity is required to make colloidal silver that is pure, because other methods require the use of
chemicals that leave behind contaminants. Thus, the use of electricity is the only way to make correct
colloidal silver that is safe for internal usage. Anything that is added into the solution changes it into
something else. For example, the addition of salt chemically transforms colloidal silver into silver
chloride, which is something that does not have the exceptional safety record of colloidal silver. While
silver chloride is ideal for eye drops, it is nevertheless something that should not be used internally.
The purity of the ingredients is essential for making true colloidal silver, for impurities will transform

Schweitzer Vs Paul Taylor
Environmentalists Albert Schweitzer and Paul Taylor have two different positions on what should
have rights and what shouldn t. But as much as their positions are different, they share some
similarities as well. In this essay I will compare and contrast their positions, ultimately coming to a
conclusion if they are on the same page when it comes to what deserves to have rights. Lets begin by
taking at look at what the basis for each position is. Albert Schweitzer s position is the position of
Reverence for Life. He believes that all life has a will to live, and all life lives together with that need.
Paul Taylor s position is based off of equal inherent worth and the biotic community. Now that we are
aware of the general basis of these environmentalists positions, we can move onto comparing and
contrasting them. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

goal of their will to live, and that is always what he directions his explanations back to. And for Taylor
it is about how some animals only possess the rights that they have because of the community that
they are a part of. Meaning that, snakes are only being protected in an area because they are located in
a natural park that is being protected. Therefore if you harm the snake you are ultimately harming the
park. As much as these environmentalists share the same goal of making sure the little guys who are

establishing political and economic equality for blacks. At one point the KKK had a total of 4 million

It is not the view of the government or anyone else. This is simply the view and opinion of one person.
We cannot limit or restrict a person for expressing their personal belief just because we don t agree
with what they are saying. If that was the case, no one would agree or get along. We all come from
different backgrounds, different religions, ethnic groups, social upbringings, etc. We have different
beliefs so therefore will not agree with everything that someone else believes in. Such in a way like
the KKK itself. Within the own KKK there are splits in the group that are divided into other groups,
such as the separation of the IKA. The IKA are represented by militia group, which are soldiers, are
ready for a war and might even encourage it or start it. In the video there was a rally being held where
the Klan was trying to rally more members and spread the news of how immigrants are stealing the
jobs of the white folks. Another charter of the Klan showed up but was not allowed to attend because
they were associated with the neo Nazi members and promote violence. They are known for burning
the cross and swastika side by side. The Klan that was holding the rally didn t want them to be apart or
attend the rally, even though they were active members of the KKK. It just goes to show there isn t
even agreement within the Klan itself. We should be allowed public express our opinion despite what
someone else feels about the subject. Like mentioned above, we do come from different backgrounds
and cultures, so we are raised on different beliefs of right and wrong. Some things are taught and
others are learned. We should be able to as human beings and as citizens of the United States be able
to share our reason as to why we support or belief in what we are voicing our opinions about. We are
necessarily always trying to recruit people to joining our culture or group, like the Klan was doing at

The Best Solution For Stopping The Tobacco Smoking

Tobacco smoking is one of the largest causes of preventable illness and death in Australia. Research

recent estimate of deaths caused by tobacco in Australia is for the financial year 2009 10. Tobacco use
caused a total of 14,901 deaths in that year (QuitSmokingSupport.com,2016). There are many ways
through which one could quit Tobacco smoking like using Medicines or E cigarettes. But in recent

The matrix sets were designed to have a worn and torn look that was imposing and grid like. The
scenes depicting the characters in the real world mostly took place on the ship, Nebuchadnezzar.
These sets were designed to have a patched up look where the wires and components of the ship were
clearly visible, communicating the idea to the audience that the ship is a marriage between man and
machine. In addition to how the sets looked, how the scenes were shot within those sets added to
theme as well. When the characters were within the matrix, the scenes were shot using a green tint,
mimicking the feel of early monochrome computer monitors. When the characters were in the real
world, they used a blue tint and longer shot lenses which soften the background while putting more
emphasis on the characters.
As I also mentioned earlier, the actual appearance of the characters in the film is another component in
the theme of appearance verses reality. When the main characters are in the real world, they are shown
with having a connection port on the back of their necks. This connection port is the means by which
the characters can reconnect to the matrix. The characters were also depicted in the real world as
wearing clothes with a more textile feel, and hair that is less stylized. When compared to how these
characters are depicted when they are inside the

  • 2. Improvements for the Texas Capital Punishment System Essay Improvements for the Texas Capital Punishment System Few issues in the United States today are as emotionally charged and controversial as the death penalty. Formally know as capital punishment, the death penalty has been hotly debated not only as a legal issue, but as a religious, ethical, and political one, historically as well as in the present day. Although many states currently administer the death penalty, Texas has been put in the spot light this past year because of the recent presidential race. The moral question of whether or not it is right to kill another human being is ever present in today s society. However, when looking at it from a political standpoint, one must also consider whether or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, this is a very non factual picture. There is very little to no blood in electrocutions. Secondly, the method of choice is currently lethal injection. In response to those who fondly quote the eighth amendment, the Constitution actually makes reference to the death penalty not one, but twice. The first occurrence is in the fifth amendment of the Bill of Rights, which says that, no person shall be held to answer for a capital...crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury... nor be deprived of life... without due process of law (Stewart 21). In other words, the Constitution is specifying that the death penalty may be used, but warns that there are certain stipulations that must first be met. The second mentioning is in the Fourteenth Amendment which says states shall not, deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process (Stewart 22). Once again, the same law regarding the death penalty is passed on to the states. In either case, the constitution is permitting the death penalty, but stating that there must be a due process in which the verdict is made. The death penalty was legalized in Texas in 1923. It was instituted as an alternative to lynching and county level executions. Since Texas was a rather prejudice state, lynching were common after the abolition of slavery. After the death penalty was instituted, the number of lynchings was significantly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Coherent Optical Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (CO OFDM) technique is extensively reconnoitered for next generation optical communication system emerges attractive pathway towards future implementation of 1 Tb/s Ethernet systems. This paper proposed the design of 100 Gb/s CO OFDM system based on the dual polarization of signal. The performance of 100 Gb/s CO OFDM system using Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) format transmitted over 576 km optical link using standard SMF is evaluated. The performance of the system in terms of signal to noise ratio (SNR), bit error rate (BER), laser linewidth, chromatic dispersion and receiving constellation diagram to accomplish excellent system. Eventually, dual polarization based CO OFDM system has high spectral efficiency as compared to conventional CO OFDM and invokes enhance track for the high speed optical communication system. • 4. Advantages Of Open Lunch When an argument is in the happening, it is always important to listen to, and understand both sides to the story. Such as how seniors, or even students in high school would like to have open lunch instead of having to stay in school during lunch hours. The administration is not allowing this to happen, for they believe they cannot trust the students enough. The reason they think they cannot trust the students is because of students breaking their trust in different matters. This has caused other students the inability to be given a chance at gaining a teacher, or even the administrations trust. But if the administration would look at this from the student s point of view, they could possibly see why students are upset by not having an open lunch hour. The administration seems to think that all students will act the same if given the privilege of an open lunch hour. But this is because they aren t looking at this from a student s point of view. Many students are well behaved in school, and deserve trust from teachers and such. If those students aren t allowed an open lunch hour, because of some irresponsible student actions, then you could see why that could be irritating to the well behaved students. Also if the schools lunch isn t something that the student wants to eat that day, the student should be able to go out and eat, because lunch is a very important meal. I know that if I don t eat a good breakfast, and I come to school I can t really concentrate on working ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Target Vs Best Buy Essay Best Buy is widely established as one of the leading consumer electronic stores across the globe, labeled as a category killer retailer within the consumer electronics genre. Target, a discount store, acts as one of the many competitors within the electronics field despite the store having a wider breadth of available merchandise for the customer to consider. Ranging from clothing to furniture to even a section for groceries, Target aims to meet many needs that the consumer may have. Best Buy caters to a more narrow selection of needs such as appliances, television and home theater, car electronics, and more. Their focused range gives them the benefit of being able to provide a better selection of products within each respective category so the customer is able to find specifically what they are searching for, while Target has a lesser product breadth and depth since they possess a larger range of merchandise categories. According to Best Buy s corporate page, more than 70% of the U.S. population lives within 15 minutes of a Best Buy location (Target Corporate. (2018). With over 1,500 stores in North America, Best Buy primarily operates in the suburbs, but does have a few locations stretching into major cities such as Chicago with a storefront on North ... • 6. The Battle Of Massachusetts Bay Colony In the early 1600s, colonies such as Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Maryland, were built on various religious principles. In addition to the colonist focus on gaining their independence and having the freedom to live as they chose; away for England s ruling. However, religion was a major battle for those upcoming settlements. Many had their own perception of what they thought was the truth about the Bible and if anyone opposed their belief, harm was due to them. Around this time, many searched earnestly for the truth, so to find it, they came up with different denominations of Christianity such as Puritans, Protestants, and Catholic. These religions drifted away from Biblical principles and turned to what individuals chose to believe and/or not believe. By this, colonies of Rhode Island, Maryland, and Massachusetts were built and greatly influenced by such beliefs. In Massachusetts, John Winthrop, the first governor of Massachusetts Bay Colony, told his fellow Puritans that they were a chosen people on a divine mission (Tindall 71). • 8. Parental Loss At A Young Age Introduction Parental loss at a young age has been linked to heightened risk of psychological problems in adulthood, especially depression and lower self confidence (Mack, 2001; Mireault Bond, 1992; Saler Skolnick, 1992*) It has also been linked to several different health conditions including chronic pain, hypertension, heart disease, and immune disorders (Luekin Lemery, 2004; McEwen Seeman, 2006). The way a child grieves over a lost parent shapes the way that information is interpreted and stored in the brain as well (Lupien, Ouellet Morin, Hupbach, Tu, Buss, Walker, et al., 2006; Vanitallie, 2002) and it can influence whether or not life events are defined as stressful (Lupien et al., 2006). Studies conducted concerning childhood bereavement suggest that early parental loss can lead to the development of poorly regulated neuro emotional response systems (Brotman, Gouley, Klein, Castellanos Pine, 2003) and the alteration of brain structures that help with memory and cognitive functioning (Lupien et al., 2006; Vanitallie, 2002). Because of the impact of the loss, often times, children need help to recover from the loss of their parent. There have been several studies conducted on effective interventions and strategies when it comes to helping a child grieve and recover from the loss of their loved one. Four days later, two planes crashed into the World Trade Center towers. In the turmoil that followed, an already fragile post Internet bubble stock market dropped further, and the subsequent downturn in the economy resulted in a drop in confidence that spread rapidly around the globe. Despite his many efforts to tighten operations while continuing to grow the business, the new CEO did not have an easy initiation as he tried to deal with the resulting economic downturn, the post Enron suspicions of large corporations, and the growing global political instability. In 2002, after promising that earnings would grow by double digits, Immelt had to report a modest 7% increase in GE s profits on revenues that were up only 5% on the 2001 sales, which had declined 3% from the prior year. The gay community started to feel like they re not alone and they re one of them as well. The folios made were termed as geo polymers . Not at all like normal Portland/ pozzolanic bonds, geopolymers don t frame calcium silicate hydrates (CSHs) for matrix formative and strength , yet silica and alumina responding with an alkaline solution and creates an alumina silicate gel that ties the aggregates and gives the strength of concrete ,source materials and antacid fluids/alkaline fluids are the tow primary constituents of geo polymers, the strengths of which rely on the nature of the materials and the sorts of fluids. To introduce capitalism, society, and the environment, I would like to begin with the statement that humans affect nature, or the natural environment. Pollution and depletion are two ways this happens. On one side with pollution, the environment becomes contaminated by toxic items. On the other side with depletion, the environment s natural resources are being exhausted. Even though both are negative and both are bad for the environment, not one of them is necessarily better to have. To discuss capitalism, seeking profit and private property is what capitalism strives for. This is essentially their main desire. In slightly simpler words, it seeks to collect capital, or money. Capitalism affects the environment in a negative way, but it also causes stratification. The way it does this is by exploiting workers. This is mainly due to Iago s conflict throughout. He influences the other characters, especially Othello, and causes them to become bitter as well. Each character is emotionally affected by Iago and his ability to get inside each individual mind. For example, Othello is overcome with emotions from his heartbreak when finding out that Desdemona has been seeing Cassio that he kills Desdemona and later himself. He also stabs Iago when he finds out all of the lies that he has told. The irrational emotions and actions that follow make the ton depressing as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The United States is filled with many different ethnicities, cultures, customs, languages, etc. Supposedly, our public schools are equipped with classes, teachers, curriculums and materials in order to educate that part of the student population whose first language is something other than the English language. Bilingual classes, transitional classes, ESL classes are just a few of the programs that have been developed to instruct non English speaking students in order for them to acquire the English language. However, there has been a language use among African American students; language that has not been examined closely nor acknowledged until recently. As a result of many students using ebonics in a school setting, it has been recognized in our educational system and it is believed that the understanding, the application, the principles, the laws and the structure of ebonics would help African American students (Amended Resolution of the Board of Education, 1997. P. 1). Ebonics would be used to help learn Standard English. Therefore, ebonics has been studied for the last 15 years due to the State of California recognizing the unique language stature of descendants of Africans (Amended Resolution of the Board of Education, 1997. P. 1). As a result, the State of California is trying to mandate an education program that is in the interest of vindicating their equal protection of the law rights under the 14 Amendment (Amended Resolution of the Board of Education, 1997. • 28. What the Two Proposals in Pride and Prejudice Reveal... Pride and Prejudice is a novel fixated on marriage: throughout, all the action occurs within scenes devoted to either the talk of marriage or actual proposals. This cannot be expounded more than within the very first line: It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife . Here, at the beginning of the novel, a definite, though somewhat sarcastic, statement introduces the main theme of the novel marriage and, possibly more importantly, not love. The stark divide between love and marriage shown right the way through cannot be comprehended fully by the twenty first century reader: in today s society marriage and love are mutually exclusive you very rarely get one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is the reason both proposals are declined: Elizabeth is of a mind that she will not marry for social security or for money only love could tempt her into matrimony. The first proposal is from Mr Collins, a man to whom Elizabeth was not even his first choice; Jane, the eldest and most beautiful, was his first fancy, but when informed that she had been privately engaged, he swiftly switches to Elizabeth, who is equally next to Jane in birth and beauty . His introduction to Elizabeth is not a pleasant one, although he is too ignorant to notice; she finds him a conceited, pompous, narrow minded, silly man . Her observation is quite correct, and illustrated to the greatest affect in his proposal speech. Collins does not seem to possess his own conception of love: he intends to get married merely because it is the particular advice and recommendation of Lady Catherine de Bourgh, his patron and first love . He even goes so far as to explain this to Elizabeth within his proposal; Mr Collins you must marry, Chuse...a gentle woman for my [Lady Catherine s] sake , showing his complete inaptitude to understand the feelings of others. No mutual acquaintance and love between each other was needed. Marriage, to Collins, was only a right thing for every clergyman in easy circumstances . There s still no evidence about his involvement with Japan and the war during this time. In September 1945, after the US dropped the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Hirohito finally had enough and broke the silence and announced Japan s surrender to the Allied Forces. Although over 2,000 years has elapsed since Christ s response to gods call, there are many who have continued to respond to god s call on their lives to serve him and others. Thus, the use of electricity is the only way to make correct colloidal silver that is safe for internal usage. Anything that is added into the solution changes it into something else. For example, the addition of salt chemically transforms colloidal silver into silver chloride, which is something that does not have the exceptional safety record of colloidal silver. While silver chloride is ideal for eye drops, it is nevertheless something that should not be used internally. The purity of the ingredients is essential for making true colloidal silver, for impurities will transform the solution into a different substance. In this essay I will compare and contrast their positions, ultimately coming to a conclusion if they are on the same page when it comes to what deserves to have rights. Lets begin by taking at look at what the basis for each position is. Albert Schweitzer s position is the position of Reverence for Life. He believes that all life has a will to live, and all life lives together with that need. Paul Taylor s position is based off of equal inherent worth and the biotic community. We all come from different backgrounds, different religions, ethnic groups, social upbringings, etc. We have different beliefs so therefore will not agree with everything that someone else believes in. Such in a way like the KKK itself. Within the own KKK there are splits in the group that are divided into other groups, such as the separation of the IKA. The IKA are represented by militia group, which are soldiers, are ready for a war and might even encourage it or start it. In the video there was a rally being held where the Klan was trying to rally more members and spread the news of how immigrants are stealing the jobs of the white folks. Another charter of the Klan showed up but was not allowed to attend because they were associated with the neo Nazi members and promote violence. In addition to how the sets looked, how the scenes were shot within those sets added to theme as well. When the characters were within the matrix, the scenes were shot using a green tint, mimicking the feel of early monochrome computer monitors.
