Dave Ramsey has been known to say (2011), What an organization spends money on is what
they value (p. 275). He also goes on to state that if you feel that your employees are a valuable

My choice of the movie 12 Years a Slave is an outstanding depiction of the lives of slaves in the
1840 s. This film follows the gruesome life of Solomon Northup. A black man born free in
Saratoga, New York. Who was fooled, poisoned, and abducted by men who sold him into
slavery. The movie is based on the book called Twelve Years a Slave: Narrative of Solomon
Northup, a Citizen of New York, Kidnapped in Washington City in 1841, and Rescued in 1853,
From a Cotton Plantation Near the Red River, in Louisiana.
The accuracy of the film was spot on. It depicted all the horrors and history of slavery very well. In
fact Dr. Emily West, an associate professor of history at the University of Reading supports my
statement when she states I have never seen a film represent slavery so accurately. It portrayed
the difference of the masters by showing how one was kind to Northup and how the other was a

Life Of Pi And Religion
In his interview with Jennie Renton, author Yann Martel says that the subtext of his novel Life
of Pi can be summarized in three lines: life is a story, you can choose your story, and a story with
God is a better story. In his novel, Martel uses the concepts of religion and fiction in a way that is
almost interchangeable. Through the character and beliefs of Pi, he shares the idea that all

My Vacation Experience
The most incredible summer that I would never forget began on June 22, 2016. It was about
4:30 in the morning when my aunt and parents woke me up so we can catch our first flight at the
Richmond International Airport. This was my first time in nine years that I could go back to
China to visit my relatives and grandparents. On this trip, I was going with my Aunt Ying and
my grandmother because my parents were too busy with work to take me. Unfortunately, when
we arrived at the Richmond International Airport, it was too late to board our flight, so we had
to be rerouted to our destination. From there, we encountered more problems. For instance, the
flight to Dallas Fort Worth was too full so they had to reroute us to the Chicago O Hare Airport.

Introduction
The purpose of this experiment is to observe the effects of Sodium Chloride (NaCl) on the
germination rate of Wisconsin Fast Plants.
Wisconsin Fast Plants (WFPs), or Brassica rapa, are plants in the Cruciferous family, developed
through selective breeding from a strain of Himalayan weeds (Williams). WFPs have a life
cycle of around forty days. This short life cycle makes WFPs valuable for laboratory study. In
addition, WFPs are simple to grow, as they only need water and a light source to survive
(Williams). Their simple needs, allowing ease in controlling variables, make WFPs ideal for use in
experiments.
Germination is the stage of plant growth through which a seed becomes a seedling plant. First, the
seed begins to absorb water and the radicle root emerges from the seed coat and into the water.
Then, the primary roots grow, the cotyledons move above ground, the stem begins to grow, and
leaves develop. The process is complete when the first leaves open and the cotyledons fall off (The
Learning Garden 2001).
NaCl has been shown to have a negative effect on plant growth (Lee and Van Iersal 2016) and
germination (Houle et al. 2001). The severity of these effects depends on the individual species
ability to grow in saline soil (Atkins et al. 2009). WFPs are part of a group of plants called
glycophytes, meaning that they have a limited ability to tolerate NaCl (Atkins et al. 2009). A study

Throughout the many historical periods of history, there always had been pieces of artwork that
depicted the rulers of the time. Khafre Enthroned(Fig 1) and Justinian as world conqueror(Fig 2)
are two examples of how they were represented during their time as leaders. Even though they are
from two different time periods, the former being Egyptian and the latter Byzantine, they are both
successful at displaying how artists and the people at their time period respectfully portrayed their

Back in my high school in Malaysia, I was not really a good speaker. I rarely practiced speaking in
English because I used my national language, Malay, most of the times in most of the situations.
After getting a pretty decent result for my final examination in high school, I was offered by my

The independent variable was the microwaved seeds. The dependent variable was the time it takes
for the seeds to germinate.
Purpose: To observe the effect of electromagnetic radiation on the germination of radish seeds.
Background: If you plant a seed, water it, give it sunlight, and good air a plant will grow. Did you
know that there is a baby plant inside every seed called an embryo? Seeds are made up of three
things, an embryo, the endosperm, and the cotyledon. The embryo in the baby plant, the
endosperm acts as a food source for the embryo, and the cotyledon are leaf like structures that
