This document summarizes the research and audience testing conducted for a student crime thriller film. It describes how the filmmakers determined their target audience would be males ages 15-30 based on the genre and film content. They interviewed classmates and students from other departments about the film idea, asking about age, opinions on the idea, and suggestions. The interviews provided positive feedback and belief that the storyline was good. After filming, they conducted an online questionnaire which also generated positive reviews, though it was limited by only surveying genre fans and using set questions rather than open discussion.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
2. • We responded to the brief firstly by researching our films genre and other
films within it. We looked at what the main target audience for our films
genre, crime thriller, was and what fans of films in this genre wanted from a
film. We decided that our film would be targeted at 15 to 30 year old
males. One of the reasons we chose the age 15 for our target audience was
thanks to our film fitted into the 15 certificate category with the BBFC and
therefore we would not be able to target the film at any people below that
age. We then decided that males would be a more appropriate target for
our film than females. As our students showed that boys had much more
enthusiasm than girls for films with action in it. Also, speaking more about our
films actual plot, the film follows the story of 4 male characters, further on
that note, there is not a single female character in the film. Therefore,
females are less likely to enjoy the film as they may not be able to relate to
the film as much as males could and could be put off by the male
camaraderie themes of our film.
3. • We conducted interviews, asking people from our college what
they thought about the idea for our film. We asked them
questions such as their age, what they thought about our film
idea and if they had any suggestions on how we could improve
upon our film idea. We originally interviewed 3 sets of people.
A pair from our class, a pair from another college class and a
single student from another department of college. However,
due to the sound quality of the interview with the individual
student we had to scrap the footage of his interview and focus
on the footage of the two pairs interviews.
5. • We made sure to take great care when choosing the questions
we would ask in our interview. We wanted to not only know
whether or not they liked the film but how they thought it could
be improved. I believe that this is important to listen to the
people you are interviewing and take their views into account
as their views can give an indication as to what people of their
age group and gender look for and want in a film. We also
wanted to see if people even like the rough idea for our film
and whether or not they would want to watch our film.
6. • The majority of answer about our film we asked in our
interviews were good. The two pairs we interviewed stated that
our film idea was good. One pair stated that they loved the
idea of the film but thought that it still could be improved while
the other pair said that they enjoyed the idea and that it had a
lot of mystery to it. Both groups also stated that the storyline
was believable and that the general idea and story was good
and that they would want to watch the film if we made it.
7. After our film had been completed and then posted to YouTube, we asked
several people if they would watch it and then complete a questionnaire about
the film. The questions on this questionnaire were similar to the interviews we
conducted when our film was in its planning stages. We did this questionnaire to
find out if people would still think our film idea was good after it had been put
into practise. We also wanted didn’t want to just have face to face interviews
because of social desirability (we didn’t want people saying positives about the
film just because we were face to face with them). The results, just like the
results of our interviews, were good.
8. • There are several problems with our questionnaire. For
example, the majority of the people we asked were already
fans of the crime thriller genre, meaning that the film already
has an advantage in their eyes. If we had asked more people
who did not like crime thrillers, the results we had received
could have been very different.
• Another issue could have been that we used set questions,
although we did use an additional comments section, we might
have learned more about their thoughts on the film if we had,
for example had a discussion with the viewer.
9. • The most liked thing in our film, judging from the questionnaire
results, was both the use of props in our film as well as the
montage scene. Several people stated that they thought the film
used props well to say that the filmmakers had little to no
budget. The montage scene was praised for speeding the films
pace up as well as for its technical aspects.
