Initial stage commissioned in 2001, for a design
capacity of 4.4 m3/s (1.600.000 PE)
EL TREBAL-MAPOCHO WWTP
Extension of 2.2 m3/s and new pretreatment,
reaching a 6.6 m3/s capacity, for full coverage of
Santiago Wastewater treatment + Detail engineering
CLIENT: AGUAS ANDINAS of extension to 8.8 m3/s + Basic engineering for 11
Type of Contract: Design-Built-O&M m3/s
CAPEX: 195 MUSD Advanced treatment with Thermal Hydrolysis CAMBI
O&M: 4 years with option to 5 additional years + cogeneration
TREATMENT: Full production scheduled in March 2012
Water: Pretreatment - Primary Settling – Activated O&M contract performed in partnership with Agbar,
sludge – Secondary settling -Chlorination for 4 years with option to 5 additional years
Sludge: Thickening – THP + Anaerobic Digestion – Water Treatment Targets:
Dewatering BOD5 35 mg/l
Others: Cogeneration SS 35 mg/l
Fecal coliforms 1000/100 ml

Decrease the polymer consumption for dewatering by 26%
