The post-COVID workplace | Guide to a brighter, safer future Condeco
Organizations have had to contend with existing lines of business slowing down or disappearing completely, and also with new opportunities rapidly emerging. They’ve had to deal with sudden redefinitions of their business real estate and what their physical premises exist to do. But perhaps most importantly, they’ve had to deal with the effects on how their employees work, and how they live, too. Start mapping out the road ahead.
Optimizing Post-Covid Return to Work Strategies – A Conjoint Case Study?Ray Poynter
This document describes a conjoint analysis study conducted by Numerious Inc. to help companies determine optimal return-to-work strategies as COVID-19 restrictions ease. The study used an online survey with 590 respondents to evaluate preferences for different return-to-work policy attributes. Conjoint analysis was used to determine the most important attributes and simulate preferences for various policy combinations. The results provide recommendations to maximize the percentage of employees willing to return to work under different options.
Is remote working a blessing or a burden for companiesshubhamjain1340
COVID-19 has had an impact on almost every aspect of our daily lives, including overall productivity. The most significant change has been the concept of working from home. It is currently practised by roughly half of the country's population. This kind of exercise has never been done before on the planet. Will work from home in its current form be temporary or permanent? Can organisations see that as a viable option, especially with people claiming that the boundaries between work and life have almost vanished? We see changes in operational levels, changes in daily routines, and how workers stay on top of things outside of the use of work and productivity tools. Many major technology companies have announced plans to allow their employees to work from home for the majority of 2020. Others are making the transition more permanent. Some businesses have taken the following actions: Twitter announced that jobs would be able to be operated remotely "forever." Facebook Inc has announced that it will allow its employees to work from home until July of next year, while Google has extended remote working time for employees who do not need to be in the office until June of next year.

This document summarizes a research paper on developing a system to detect whether individuals are wearing face masks using CCTV cameras in public places like grocery stores. The system uses convolutional neural networks (CNN) for face detection and mask detection in images from the cameras. If someone is detected without a mask, an alert is sent to store owners. The goal is to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 by enforcing mask rules and making people aware of the importance of masks for health and safety. The proposed system could be expanded for use in other public areas like malls and universities to monitor mask compliance through IoT-connected cameras.

Since the FAIR data principles were published in 2016, many organizations including science funders and governments have adopted these principles to promote and foster true open science collaborations. However, to define a vision and create a video of a Personal Health Train that leverages worldwide FAIR health data in a federated manner is one step. To actually make this happen at scale and be able to show new scientific and medical insights for it is quite another!
In this webinar, we will dive into the basics of FAIR health data, but also take stock of the current situation in health data networks: after a year of frantic research and collaborations and many open datasets and hackathons on COVID-19, has the situation actually improved? Are we sharing health data on a global scale to improve medical practice, or is quality medical data still only accessible to researchers with the right credentials and deep pockets?
This webinar is part of the “How FAIR are you” webinar series and hackathon, which aim at increasing and facilitating the uptake of FAIR approaches into software, training materials and cohort data, to facilitate responsible and ethical data and resource sharing and implementation of federated applications for data analysis.
The CINECA webinar series aims to discuss ways to address common challenges and share best practices in the field of cohort data analysis, as well as distribute CINECA project results. All CINECA webinars include an audience Q&A session during which attendees can ask questions and make suggestions. Please note that all webinars are recorded and available for posterior viewing. PREDICTION OF COVID-19 USING MACHINE LEARNING APPROACHESIRJET Journal
This document summarizes a research paper that used machine learning models to predict the spread of COVID-19. The researchers used various machine learning algorithms like SVM, random forest, decision tree, and linear regression on COVID-19 case data. SVM had the highest error in predictions, while random forest and decision tree performed best with lowest error. The models were developed using Python and deployed on cloud platforms. The study aimed to accurately predict COVID-19 trends to help governments respond better to the pandemic.
The document outlines a proposal for a "COVID-19 Smart Response" online platform to facilitate partnerships between public and non-public actors in the EU to combat COVID-19. The platform would match needs requests from governments and healthcare providers with offers of assistance from businesses, NGOs, and other organizations. It would provide tools for registering requests and offers, conducting due diligence on projects, and tracking contributions and partnerships. The proposal discusses technical solutions, target users, and provides examples of potential partnerships to develop medical solutions, supply critical goods, and share best practices.
The document outlines an agenda for seminars focused on different sectors including energy, chemistry, materials, healthcare and life science, and smart human capital. The dates and focus areas of each seminar are listed. Additionally, the document provides statistics on assignments per sector from 2007 to 2017, with the top sectors being production food, FMCG, services, pharma and healthcare, and construction. It encourages business transformation and upcycling through these seminars.

But….
Remote working under the pandemic is
leading to:
• greater economic polarization
among those who can work remotely
and those who cannot due to 1) type of
work and 2) lack of infrastructure
• “She-cession” a decline in wages
and employment – 1) due to gender
differences in sectors of employment
and 2) inequality in caregiving and
schooling responsibilities
"Unfortunately, as we have seen
from the pandemic, people of
color and people in non-highly
skilled communities have been
hit particularly hard by the shift
to remote working. The lack of
infrastructure, tools, space, and
time in these communities create
much more significant barriers to
working remotely and recruiting
into remote roles.”
