Descriptive Essay About Going To The Beach
Have you ever been to the beach? I have been to the beach once, and honestly, I wasn t that
impressed. Before I went, I looked up pictures of the beach I was going to, and it had clear,
bright blue water, with perfect white sand. Plus, I was expecting to find lots of fine things, like
seashells, sand dollars, and sea glass. When I first receiver the beach, I stepped out of the car,
having my hopes way too high. The sand was white and fluffy at first, however, as you walked
closer to the water, it became hard and the color of mud. The water looked like lake water.
Honestly, I felt like I was at the lake, other than I couldn t see land on the other side looking out
on the water. It grew better, too. The only thing close to seashells was little mussels that we
would dig into the sand. There wasn t any sand dollars, or anything fantastic like that. Although I
had some misconceptions, I still had a blast at the beach. I mean, I could have been a little slap
happy, as it was my first time there, yet I m pretty sure that I would ve had a pleasant time
anyways. I went with my dad, 3 of my aunts, and 9 of my cousins. We went to the Port Aransas
Beach in Texas. We pulled up in two vans, one being gray and one being black, and we hauled
out of them. We were all super excited. The kids rushed to see the water, however, were instantly
stopped by the adults. We grabbed the boogie boards, towels, and lathered up with sunscreen. It
seemed like forever before we could actually go out to

Defining Personal Responsibility Essay
Defining Personal Responsibility and Obligations to Oneself
Angelica McElhone
University of Phoenix
Abstract
Personal responsibility is the choices and obligations we make in life. Everyone is responsible for
their own actions no one else. We all must have good character, moral values and a healthy lifestyle
in order to accept personal responsibility. Once we use our good character and moral values to help
us know what is right and wrong, it is up to us to be responsible and make the right decisions.
Also promoting a healthy life style show you are responsible mentally, physically and emotionally.
All in all, once we accept the fact that we are the only ones who can change our lives by making
good choices, we have accepted personal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If we choose to be late instead of punctual, we are not accepting our personal responsibility that we
must be punctual so we suffer from the consequences.
Moral values are the values of good and evil, which help us make the right and wrong choices in
life. We develop these moral values throughout our life time and it is our personal responsibility
to use them when making choices or obligations. Having moral values is important in personal
responsibility because the moral values you live by will help you determine what s right and
what s wrong. Once we ve determined what s right or wrong we use those values to help make
sure we are doing the right thing which is the responsible way to do it.
Finally, having a healthy life style is the most important key to personal responsibility. Everyone
is responsible for how they live their lives but it is important to make sure you are mentally,
emotionally and physically stable in order to live a good life. We as people like to blame everyone
else for our problems but the only real person to blame are ourselves. We ourselves are
personally responsible for the way we live are lives no one else. If you don t live a healthy
lifestyle it is your responsibility to change that or accept the burdens that come with not living a
healthy life style.
When you accept responsibility, you admit you are the one responsible for the choices made in
your life. We, no other person or thing,

Crime Scene Investigation Steps
Crime Scene Investigation
Logan Redd
Liberty University
Abstract
There are vital stages of crime scene investigation that will be portrayed and analyzed through
scholarly sources. A crime scene investigation must start with a crime committed, whether it be a
burglary or a homicide. The first responders (police officers, fire fighters, emergency medical
personnel, etc.) are called to the scene to assess the situation before the crime scene investigators
and detectives are called to the scene to start the investigation. After the scene is protected and
secured, the investigators and detectives will come ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Protection of the crime scene starts when the first responding officer arrives at the scene. Often
times, the police officer s swoop and scoop idea prohibits all of the evidence and identification to
be discovered. Swoop and scoop is the process that many police officers take at crime scenes;
they will approach the scene and very quickly find evidence so that they can proceed to the next
call. Police officers, firefighters, and emergency medical workers are the first to arrive on scene to
assess any health concerns and make sure there are no perpetrators in the surrounding area. The task
of the emergency responders is to protect the scene before crime scene investigators arrive to
scrutinize the scene further. The emergency responders will explore the physical conditions at the
crime scene, such as hazardous or toxic materials, electrical problems, the weather, the structure of
the crime scene, and any dangerous people or animals in the surrounding area. If there are any
dangerous conditions that exist, they should be reported to the officer in charge so that the
conditions can be addressed and corrected so that the crime scene investigation can take place.
Sometimes, but not often, personal protective equipment will be utilized when working on a scene
with hazardous conditions. Personal protective equipment consists of hazmat suits, gloves, shoe
covers,

The Outcome Of Two Major Railroad Strikes
Identify and describe the outcome of two major Railroad Strikes. The two major Railroad
Strikes were the Great Railroad Strike of 1877 and Railroad Shop workers Strike of 1922. The
Great Railroad Strike of 1877, was due to workers not being happy about the pay cuts that were
being made by their employer so often. Northern Railroads began cutting salaries and wages.
Because of various railroads cutting wages by 10% back to back, workers were not willing to
continue working under those conditions. Not only were the wages of the workers being cut,
the amount work of work given to the employees increased and the employer did not hire
additional workers. This then caused railroad employees to respond by taking control of the rail
yard switches, and blocking movement of trains. Throughout various cities such as Baltimore,
Pittsburg, St. Louise, and Chicago, Violent acts began to occur. Many people died throughout
the cities. The strike cause the country s commerce to become paralyzed and pushed governors
in different states to utilize militia members to reopen rail traffic. This action also helped set the
stage for violence that would occur later in the 1880s and 1890s. The Railroad Shop Workers
Strike of 1922 affected everyone in the country. This strike occurred because of the pay cut of
seven cents to the wages of the railroad workers. Approximately 400,000 rail shop workers from
various unions were on strike because the cut was announced by the railroad labor board. When

The World Anti Doping Agency
With the 2016 Summer Olympics just around the corner our media is capturing both positive
accomplishments and negative behavior about the potential Olympic athletes and telling us
everything we didn t want to know. Doping is always a highlighted issue and we in America are
familiar with it in our high profile sports culture such as NFL, NBA, and MLB but it is not just
in our homeland culture. It has been internationally affecting the Olympics since its inception in
776 393BC and modern day resurrection in Athens, Greece in 1896. The Olympic Committee
established a doping committee for regulation, the WADA, the world anti doping agency, with
the increase of enhancement drug use by the athletes. The World Anti Doping Agency s
(WADA) mission is to lead a collaborative worldwide campaign for a doping free sport.(list) Is the
answer for athletes to just say no or should we really be looking beyond the drug. The Olympic
motto of Faster, Higher, Stronger may have added new meaning to it with at all costs, just do it .
If we look at our own American culture, War on Drugs , starting under Richard Nixon in 1971, we
have not seen great strides in this being the cure. I believe this issue is rooted not just in testing but
in the basic human value of individuals from any country, culture, or gender. To have a governing
board to seek out and banish the drug using athletes is not going to decrease numbers in hopes of
upholding the foundation of this Olympic Athletic culture that

Roswell Conspiracy
What really happened in Roswell?
For more than 60 years, the debate between reality and conspiracy has raged on with the concept
of aliens in the center(History.com Staff). In Roswell, New Mexico in 1947 what is believed by
conspiracy theorists to be a flying saucer was found in a rancher s sheep pasture. The idea that
exterrestrial life could possibly exist may seem out of this world to some. But, to an entire town of
people, the idea is not as far fetched.
So, what are aliens? Aliens are exterrestrial beings that allegedly live in outer space and did not
originate from Earth. Outer space is incomprehensibly massive. The galaxy in which human beings
live is referred to as the Milky Way, and there are an estimated 100 billion planets in that one
galaxy alone(SPACE.com Staff). Seth Shostak, an American astronomer and a Senior Astronomer

The Respiratory System The respiratory system consists of the nose, mouth, pharynx, larynx,

The primary function of the respiratory system is the exchange of gases. The respiratory system

The esophagus receives food from the mouth after swallowing and then delivers it to the stomach.
The stomach holds food which it is being mixed with enzymes which continue the process of
breaking down the food into a useable form. When the contents of the stomach are processed they
are released into the small intestine. In the small intestine food is broken down by enzymes
released from the pancreas and bile from the liver, the food is moved through and mixed with
digestive secretions. The small intestine is made up of three segments the duodenum, jejunum and
the ileum, the jejunum and the ileum are mainly responsible from the absorption of nutrients in to
the bloodstream. These contents start out semi solid and end in a liquid form after passing through
the organ. Water, bile, enzymes and mucous change its consistency, one the nutrients have been

The pancreas is responsible for secreting digestive enzymes into the duodenum. These enzymes then

Mass Media And Its Effect On The Air Waves
Mass media distribution has been around since the invention of the printing press. (Gerbner, 1999)
However, broadcast radio presented a higher level of distribution speed to this process and allowed
for an extended reach to consumers. Since its creation, this technology has been controlled by FCC
regulations and advertising support, limiting the freedom of the broadcasters so all of the possible
listeners are happy. Between the government maintenance and listening trends, the range of music
and content on the air waves has been reduced to 5 basic genres. The introduction of the internet
has allowed this medium to once again evolve. The reach has been greatly extended, advertising
made optional and freedom of use increased. This being said, the largest attraction to internet radio
is its ability to be customized by the listener. Historically, the concept of internet radio has been
around since the early 1990s. These broadcasts were still very limited because most of them
were streams from terrestrial radio stations or niche talk shows. Carl Malamud began this
phenomena with a weekly computer talk show, interviewing experts and streaming it openly
online. These types of broadcasts became so popular that The Rolling Stone began playing a
concert over the web as well. This idea would be copied over and over again by every musician and
music producer. As file sharing spread and download speeds increased, issues began to rise between

Thomas level of Managerial Hubris
Thomas Farrow had hubris problem long before he built up the Farrow bank. He was very vocal

are three tips to follow when setting up an ethical business culture, the first would be to make

handbook, enforce the policies by making sure that any type of breach of policy is punished,
and finally make sure you follow the same culture at all times do not ask your employees to do
something you are not willing to do. Following these rules would have definitely changed the
outcome of the Farrow bank. It would have given the employees rules and an actual plan of what
you expect from them. There would also have to be a reliable set of checks and balances so that
no one person has too much access to the money so that there is a money trail. Finally, there
would be no main members of the board running the day to day routines of the business. If
Thomas Farrow had been more interested in the business, hired actual qualified people, and built
an actual business culture Farrow Bank would never had any issues, but instead he allowed his

The Chimney Sweeper is a poem written by William Blake (1757 1827). His main aim is to
expose the social defects in his age and the vices which afflict his society and to confront his
readers with the dreadful suffering of the working paupers. According to Blake, the chimney
sweeping life is not a life at all; the labourer children have lost their childhood, their freedom, and
their innocence. He criticizes the victimisation of children and the injustice of this oppressive

McNabs Island is located at the mouth of the Halifax Harbor, and its size is approximately 395

rises toward the middle so that the elevation of central land is higher than the edge. Moreover,
the proportion of its flat areas is approximately 20%, which mostly occurs at hilltops and coastal

On the opposite, if there is a flat or gentle ground, and some kinds of vegetation covering, the
volume and speed of overland flow will decrease. For the coastal environment and processes of
the island, the low energy waves create flat beaches because waves sediments are pushed by the
wind toward the coastline. On the opposite, the high energy waves create coastal cliffs from
wave erosion, and when coastal cliffs are formed, waves will break and release a great deal of
energy. In addition, the island shorelines vary from cobbled stone to fine sand, and with salt

Fashion Promotion in 5 Years Essay
What is the role of fashion promotion within the fashion industry, and how will it develop over the

Fashion promotion is the glue that holds together everything fashion related. It s all very well

promotion is what advertises those garments, and sells them, and puts them out there for the world

The Revolutionary Ideas Of Galileo, Kepler, And Newton
Throughout the seventeenth century many new ideas were brought about as a direct result of the
Scientific Revolution. These ideas challenged the traditional ways of European thought. . With
these new concepts, the idea that science could explain everything, while religion could not, began
to spread. The revolutionary thinkers of that time altered traditional interpretations of nature and
challenged the established sources of knowledge. Among these intellectuals were Galileo, Kepler

and conclusions about the universe. Galileo was a philosopher and mathematician. Galileo used
the telescope to study astronomy. He experimented many ideas to support the heliocentric model

sun in an ellipse, with the sun at one focus. According to the second law, planets do not revolve
around the sun at a uniform speed, but they are faster when closer to the sun, and slower when
further from it. Kepler s Third Law states the relationship between the period of motion for a
planet and the semi major axis of the planet s elliptical orbit. The relationship is that the square of
the period is proportional to the cube of the semi major axis. Kepler s interpretations were
uncommon because he used mathematics in his determinations of the laws and didn t just believe

The Cold Equation By Tom Godwin Summary
Fall 2017 Dialogue Assignment The Cold Equations is a short story written by Tom Godwin.
Barton is a character on a different planet and is an EDS pilot. EDS are used for emergencies
and other calls that are urgent. In Barton s case he is flying towards Wooden, which is a planet,
where six men have been stranded, struck with a fever that could kill them without the right
serum, which they did have but with their luck, it was destroyed by a tornado. Barton s mission is
to fly back to earth, get the serum and then fly to Wooden. The only problem with the EDS is that
it is very small and stores just enough fuel to get to the destination and back. Any other mass
weight which was not calculated for could crash the plane. While Barton was... Show more content

Me: He is right, there was a big sign that said to stay out. Marilyn should have kept to herself, or at
least ask if she could go on to see her brother.
Marilyn s Mom: I don t care what the sign says! There should have been a better warning, my
poor girl just wanted to see her brother who she hasn t seen in 10 years. Barton should have been
more careful and checked EVERYWHERE to make sure that no one was on the ship.
Jan Narveson: It was right front of her eyes, she should have realized that this was not a place for
her to be in, no matter what the situation is. If she wanted to see her brother she should have just
waited to see him.
Marilyn s Mom: Marilyn obviously did not know the consequences, it is much different on
earth! Nothing is this harsh and so very cruel. I know my little girl and she would not go in there
if she knew that she was going to die. Well, think about this, what if the sign had been changed
and said: COME ON IN, WE WILL TAKE YOU TO YOUR DESTINATION. Would you have
killed her then? It would be all your fault if she had walked in if the sign were to say that.
Me: Well that would make her 100% innocent, but if she is all sweet and innocent we would hope
that she would know that the right thing to do would be to sacrifice herself, to save Barton and the
6 other men.
Jan Narveson: That s right, it s either Marilyn stays alive for a few more hours and they all die, or

Translating the overall strategy into action
An overall LTD strategy may be valid over a long timeframe, though it may need to be revisited
regularly as circumstances change. It is an overall statement of intent and needs to be given more
detail to give guidance on how it will be implemented and who will translate this intent into practice
The sections below set out some of the questions that need to be asked and the choices that
organisations need to make so that LTD practice achieves its strategic aims. Organisations may set
these policies as a set of organisational rules, or as guidance and communicate them to managers
and staff.
Performance management
LTD activities need to be planned for in the same way as other organisational activities, through the
performance management process. Responsibilities will be allocated to line management and HRD
specialists, targets set, and individual performance measured against achievement. This applies to
the HRD function and to line managers who achieve business targets by, amongst other things,
making sure their teams have the right level of capability. Find out more about the performance
management process in our

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Ancient Sparta And Athens
Ancient Greece is known for its two rival city states, Athens and Sparta. It was the strengths of
these two societies that brought the ancient world to its heights in art, culture and with the defeat
of the Persians, warfare. With Athens and Sparta fighting for power and territory, it brought about
the Peloponnesian wars that lasted thirty years, leaving the two city states in their own shadows.
The classical era was helped shaped from the works of Homer, The Illiad and The Odyssey, that in
a way, created a set of rules and an ethnic identity for the Greeks. The heroic achievements of
Odysseus and the other Achaeans served as role models for the Greeks which told them how to
behave and how not to behave in many situations, especially on the battle field and in competition.
Around 800 B.C. the Spartans were founded by Lycurgus and known for their militaristic society. In
the late eighth century, Spartafought in a war with their neighbors in Messinia, but unlike other wars
in ancient Greece, the Spartans subjugated the entire population of Messinia, reducing them to
helots. These people worked for the Spartans, like slaves, doing everything and anything they
asked of them. The male children were taken from their mothers at young ages to serve the state,
learning the art of warfare. Spartan life had one purpose and that was meant to defend the state.
The Spartans were known for their capability to say a lot with little words and their

mission God has commissioned to the people due to their stubbornness. Thus, Israel was
delivered up to plunderers and robbers (42:22 25). This rebellious servant is in paradoxical
relationship with the ideal servant figure in 42:1 9, creating tension between them. The blind and
deaf servant theme continues in 43:1 13, introducing the task of the servant as God s witness. In
spite of the fragility of the servant, God still loves the servant Israel and wills to use the servant
as his witness among the nations (43:10, 12; 44:8).26 God s original purpose in choosing his
servant is for the nations to experience God s incomparable sovereign power and for his glory to be
proclaimed among the nations, but the servant keeps failing to faithfully accomplish the task.
Nevertheless, God s unconditional grace and the promise of redemption to his servant Israel are
repeatedly declared in the subsequent passage (43:22 44:23). This unit s uniqueness is the
transformation of the descendants of the servant through the outpouring of the Spirit upon them
(44:3 5) and the forgiveness... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Historical critical scholars suggest that the identity of the servant is an anonymous contemporary of
Second Isaiah, Second Isaiah himself, a group (Israel, ideal Israel, a remnant), the Davidic messiah,
the king Jehoiachin (597 B.C.), the exiled people, and so on. However, the question of the identity
of the servant remains intractable among scholars. As Clines points out, there is an intentional
opacity about the text. Moreover, the highly poetic and rhetorical nature in the language of Isaiah 53
prevents us from acquiring the precise historical information of the servant s identity. The questions
concerning the identity of the servant seem to be secondary in the movement of thought in 52:13

Social Comparison Theory Analysis
The Social Comparison theory can be applied to how beauty standards in television have an effect
on how children view themselves and the world. The theory describes that individuals make
judgments about themselves based on the comparison they view on television. In the theory there
are two types of comparisonsto be made: upward comparisons and downward comparisons. This
analysis will focus on upward comparisons as it is best applied to how beauty standards in
television affects the way children view the world. In upward comparisons an individual compares
him/herself with others who they feel are better than them. This comparisoncan only lead to on of

There are three main components of this theory: attention, retention, and motivation. A child is
exposed to a crime, an act of violence, or some sort of injustice; this is the attention portion of the
theory. Viewing these acts expands their behavioral options and discover the consequence or reward
for such actions. In the retention portion of this theory, the learned images that a child has viewed
is internalized. The cognitive function of memory enables us to reenact that vivid image of
violence. The theory suggests we can live vicariously through these images; we may never reenact
them in reality, but we have been exposed to them.) This constant exposure and mental reenactment
of violence lead to desensitization to these injustices because they are familiar. In the motivation
portion of the theory we calculate how imitating these violent acts would pan out in reality. The
viewer weighs the rewards or punishments of these actions. Motivation comes from the expectation
of future reward or punishment; both internal and external rewards are played out in the viewer s

Multicultural Issues In Multicultural Education
Multicultural Issues Raquel mentions she failed the seventh grade; as a result she was placed in

mentions language barriers is a hindrance among Latin American while in school. Many Latin
Americans are bilingual; however, the will speak little English outside of the school setting. This
causes complications due to their primary language is Spanish which is spoken by familyand friends
(Brammer, 2004). Additionally, Latin American endures a vast amount of peer pressure to do
poorly in school or to drop out. One method to reduce the dropout rate of Latin Americans is
teachers can make reasonable accommodation to their lesson plan to the address the students needs.
Also involving the child s parents in their educations with the use of interpreters can assist the child
to thrive educationally (Amy Buttler, personal communication, November 7, 2017). It is mentioned
that Raquel s family has strong ethnicity rooted in the Costa Rican lineage. Latin Americans tend to
have strong family ties that rely on the support and strength of each other. Familismo is a part of
their cultural placing high value on the family that extends past the nuclear family (e.g.
grandparents and extended familymembers) (Brammer, 2004). It is beneficial to be close with one

Hurricane Comme Essay
Hurricane Cosme can be traced to a tropical wave that formed on the west coast of Africa on or
around June 8. That westward moving wave, which was also responsible for the formation of
Tropical Storm Barry in the Caribbean Sea, eventually reached the Eastern Pacific Ocean. The
progress of the wave was slowed by a southwesterly movement within the Intertropical Convergence
Zone.[10] During the morning hours of June 20, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) began
monitoring a broad area of disturbed weather several hundred miles southeast of Acapulco,
Mexico.[11] Assessed with a low chance of tropical cycloneformation within a two day interval,
conditions at the time were unfavorable but expected to become more conducive for development

visible on early morning satellite images. As a result, the National Hurricane Center upgraded
Cosme to a Category 1 hurricane on the Saffir Simpson hurricane wind scale.[20] Given the light

convection on the west side of the circulation center began to erode significantly.[22] The tropical

How White People Receive Their Privilege
I think acknowledging privilege matter. I think white people have more privilege than any other
skin color people. I would like to describe privilege as an advantage given to people. They can use
them anywhere without fearing of anything. Being born in a white rich family also have many
advantages in the society. You don t have to worry about anybody questioning you. I think white
peoplehave a different life comparing to other people. I think it is better for white people to
acknowledge their privilege. How can you acknowledge privilege without doing anything to
lessen or end it? Acknowledge means to accept the truth. If you accept the truth and do nothing
about it is meaningless. Acknowledgment can have a big impact in our life. We all know white
people always had and always will have the same privilege so it s better for them to accept it.
For example You are a black person. You are inside the store buying candy without any intention.
Even you are just trying to buy candy why the cashier always look at you as if you are stealing
something. A white person who was doing the exact activity the cashier would not even look twice
to him. Why always privilege to white people? Why negative thinking to another race? I think white
people should accept the truth and should respect their privilege. They always should use their
privilege in the right way. They are fortunate to have all this white privilege.

school, and would go voluntarily, unlike some of his classmates, and so he is expecting great
things from his first job. From his house, Cole starts walking down the main street of the city.
People bustle all around him, and he is shoved in all directions. Desperate to avoid the flow of
pedestrians, Cole pushes through to the side of the road, out of the way. I can finally rest, he
thought to himself. Just when all seemed calm, he hears a loud sound on his right. Turning, he
sees that there is a huge machine passing on a bridge near him. I think it s called a train , he
wonders. The massive machine speeds across the city with a thundering noise. What a
monstrous yet beautiful invention. How could anyone even think of something of such
complexity... His thoughts are suddenly interrupted by another man who shouts, Get out of the
way kid, I ve got a job to be at! He then shoves Cole, knocking him to the side, and continues
walking. His head spinning, Cole stumbles back onto the sidewalk, the bustle of people having
passed by, and he lays down to ease off the pain from the encounter. One aspect about Cole is that
he never becomes angry, not even when a person hits him. From his position on the ground, Cole
tries to look up at the sky, except that it is completely hidden by the thick smog of the factories
drifting over the city. He sits up. In front of him down the street, he sees dozens of tall buildings
being built, and dozens others already finished. He had never seen such large buildings, but he
had also never seen so many in one area. Neither had he seen a place like the city where tens of
thousands of people are walking in the streets and cycling. Compared to this, the village he used to
live in the countryside was miniscule. The scale of the city was astonishing, and it sucked the

The American dream is the belief that anyone that lives or that comes to America has the chance to

techniques to convey the message that the American dream is an optical illusion. In reality most
American live with student loans that they cannot pay because they of under employment, which

America is known as the land of freedom and opportunity. A country where a person s

description of what the American dream truly is, The American pipe dream with attached mirage.
Americans have to get an overpriced education, have huge school loans, get underpaying jobs,
which will cause them to have credit card debt, which will take their rest of their life to fix. This
means they can not buy house, cars or anything because in America a person s credit score

Catharsis In Boxing The Compass
In Boxing the Compass, a third person narrator follows a woman waking into a day, the
anniversary of her mother s death. This woman rises from her bed, dresses, leaves her
apartment, walks into a bakery to buy bread, buys bread, returns to her apartment, heats water,
writes, undresses, takes a bath, redresses and leaves her apartment to catch a train to ride toward
a graveyard to visit her mother s grave. A seemingly simple plot develops rapidly into a complex
labyrinth of the woman s memories, her apprehension of the earth s rising temperatures and sea
levels, her ideology regarding time, in relation to the action of boxing a compass. Throughout
Boxing the Compass, the daughter s grief over losing her mother acts as a reflection and allows the
audience to mourn the holocene s passing due to drastic climate change: a change that enabled
human beings to thrive, but will eventually, be their demise as well. Florian is able to accomplish
this by applying Aristotle s notions of catharsisto Boxing the Compass. According to the

enable Florian to develop her central theme of ephemerality through the use of an elaborate analogy
of mourning the death of one s mother to mourning the holocene.

period over which long range objectives are to be achieved. Thus, a grand strategy can be defined
as a comprehensive general approach that guides a firm s major actions (Pearce Robinson, 2011).

Thomas Malthus—Section Summary
Thomas Malthus Section Summary Malthus work, Essay on the Principle of Population, is often
cited, first by Darwin himself, to have influenced Darwin s conception of the theory of natural
selection. His work, though unpopular, and often proven to be off the mark, did in fact bring to the
forefront many socio economic issues that are still being debated today: populationcontrol, food
production and concerns over uncontrollable diseases arising from the effects of over population.
In this passage it is stated that Malthus was proven wrong: ...Malthus dire predictions have proven
to be wrong... (Efficiency and Equity 211). However, though his calculations have proven to be
wrong because he could not accurately account for the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Malthus determined that during this particular scarcity of bread, that though the shortage was less
than comparable shortages in other European countries, the cost of bread was 3 times as high as
normal when, by comparison, the other countries with worse shortages of bread and bread
ingredients, only demonstrated a doubling of prices. Malthus was obviously very aware of the
effect pricing could have on food supplies and production. Another criticism of Malthus that is only
alluded to in the text is his tendency to heap an undue amount of blame on the lower classes for
their role in population growth:
An 1881 report concluded that 80 percent of famine victims were drawn from the poorest 20 percent
of the population...Thus, if the government spent more of its revenue on famine relief, an even
larger proportion of the population would become penurious...although the administration was
divided about the value of famine relief, these Malthusian views undoubtedly affected its volume
and timing (Caldwell, par.40)
Malthus didn t necessarily propose that poverty, exploding population growth, famine and disease
was intentionally the fault of the poor and lowest social classes, but that it was their inability

Gilgamesh And The Epic Of Gilgamesh
The maturation of Gilgamesh and his desire to acquire wisdom throughout his journey is quite
apparent. By overcoming difficulties such as upholding Uruk, becoming friends with Enkidu,
and various other scenarios, Gilgamesh proves that he did in fact grow up throughout the epic.
As the epic starts, Gilgamesh is portrayed as a self centered, self admiring leader who believes
that he is the only individual that can lead the city of Uruk. Gilgamesh believes that he is a god
like figure and often refers to himself as one. He believes that he is above everyone else in the
city of Uruk. For example, in the epic there is a scene where Gilgamesh enters the city of Uruk,
the epic describes the scene as; He entered the city of Uruk the Town Square, and a crowd
gathered around. He came to a halt in the street of Uruk the Town Square, all gathered about, the
people discussed him (15). This quote is a good example of how Gilgamesh expected those
around him to respect and look up to him as a god like figure. He did not lead the city of Uruk
humbly; he wasn t a leader who strived to feel like a normal citizen of the city. Instead,
Gilgamesh felt that he was entitled to more privileges than the average person. Early on in the
epic, Gilgamesh is described as a tall, magnificent and terrible, who opened passes in the
mountains, who dug wells on the slopes of the uplands, and crosses the ocean, the wide sea to the
sunrise (2). This demonstrates how selfish Gilgamesh truly was, and how all

The Role Of Leptin And Its Effects On The Reproductive...
Role of leptin in PCOS. Leptin is a hormone secreted mainly from the adipose tissue, serum levels
of which are influenced by obesity, insulin resistance and the levels of sex steroids (androgens and
estrogens) and insulin. It is mainly involved in the regulation of body weight by decreasing appetite
and increasing energy expenditure. Besides regulating the energy metabolism of the body, leptinhas
important actions on the reproductive system, which makes it an important link between the
adipose tissue and hypothalamus pituitary gonadal (HPG) axis (2). Long term hyperinsulinemia in
humans, as is the case in PCOS patients, stimulates leptin secretion from adipose tissue (9).
Significantly higher leptin (P = 0.0028), and insulin concentrations, insulin: glucose ratio (IGR),
and a significant correlation between leptin and fasting insulin concentrations, IGR, WHR and LH
have been reported in obese PCOS women than in normal weight women with PCOS. There is a
significant negative correlation between leptin and LH concentrations, independently of either BMI
or IGR, suggesting a possible involvement of leptin in LH hypersecretion (10). Estrogens increase,
whereas androgens suppress leptin production, suggesting sexual dimorphism in leptin levels (2).
The direct and indirect effects of leptin on the HPG axis, such as acceleration of GnRH pulsatility
(but not the pulse amplitude) in a dose dependent manner, suggest that leptin may play an important
role in the pathogenesis of PCOS.

Case Study Of Lens CraftersOperations Strategy
1. Evaluate Lens Crafters operations strategy and explain how the organization seeks to gain a
competitive advantage regarding sustainability. Lens crafters is a United States organization
that deals with the manufacture of eyewear including sun glasses and is a large retail company
in the USA. It was founded in 1983 by a person known as E. Dean Butler. He was a manager at
Procter Gamble Company, which he afterward sold to United States Shoe Corporation in 1985
(Walczak, 2014). Since then, the eyewear company has expanded enormously with over 840
stores in Canada alone. The factors that led to its fast growth were due to his optimistic character
of business growth. He also was very knowledgeable and had a way to manufacture glasses on
order and within the stipulated time hence meeting the customers needs (Hill, et al, 2014). This led
to increasing revenue which in return contributed to the globalization of the company. Operations
Strategy An operation strategy is a means by which a company or organization sets a plan of
actions to run and meet the organization s goals and objectives. Lenscrafter has a unique strategy
that attracted a lot of customers to it. The approach is called differential strategy. This is a method
where a company manufactures and produces exceptional quality products that are different from
any other film (Liu and Ko, 2014). Lenscrafer used this style which attracted a lot of customers.

Solution and Solution Selection Process
As insignificant as 4% may seem, it has a very large impact on forensics and the entire criminal
justice system. When DNA tests become invalidated, the test can no longer be relied on to be
accurate. Forensics relies on the total accuracy of their test. When a test s accuracy cannot be
verified, it cannot be used as evidence. With all of the data that laboratories have to process, how
can the accuracy of the data be checked? In 2009, there were an estimated 26 million Child ID Kits
distributed by the National Child Identification Program alone. For the safety of their children,
more and more parents are turning to forensic analysis to protect their families. In each of the
identification kits, there are supplies to collect a hair sample, saliva sample, and take fingerprints.
In the event that something happens to the child, parents can present the information from these
kits to police to use them to find the child. The Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification
System (IAFIS) is a database owned by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) that is shared
with all law enforcement in the United States. When someone is believed to have committed a
crime their fingerprints and other physical information is entered into this database for future use.
Parents that agree to use resources from the National Child Identification Program are also able to
consent to have their child s information in this database in the event they

Human Behaviour Is Odd At The Best Of Times
Generally human behaviour is odd at the best of times. As inhabitants of the planet, most of us
do try to live happy and productive lives against varying degrees of opposition, and sometimes
our coping skills, the actions we take to be happy, appear to others, including ourselves, to be
quite bizarre. This book is a selection of unusual cases from the files of leading therapists. A
collection of first person accounts of the most bizarre therapy encounters ever. This book is
interesting because each chapter is written from a different therapist s perspective and details how
the therapist tackled their bizarre client. Not to be misinterpreted from the title this book isn t a
freak show, tales of the macabre, but a genuine telling of memorable cases from professionals who
have made it their life s work to help people in dire need and is written with genuine compassion
and a noticeable humanity. After finishing the text, it also became clear to me that the business of
the mind, psychiatry and psychology, is by no means a strict science. The various therapeutic
techniques out their being used around the world run into the thousands. It is a social science that
is constantly changing and developing. In other terms, there is no blanket cure for all or a miracle
technique to make us into happy productive people.
After reading these cases, what I notice most of the therapists had in common was their intuition.
The conversations intertwined with the therapist s thoughts makes for a

The Italian Agriculture Business Industry
Those oils are shipped tax free to Italy, where they are bottled for the order and profit of the
multinational corporations. The labels on bottles will read Packed in Italy and are sold at prices
very close to the Made in Italy products. The knowledge of the origin the date of the product and
the way that it was produced, including the chemicals that were added plus the sanitary issues
involved are hidden or not disclosed, on labels thanks to the favoritism of the laws formulated that
are putting at stake the consumer health.
This is a downfall for the Italian image that before the multinationals entered the market was known
for their high quality goods and the reputation in the field. The Italian agriculture business has to
deal with the Food Piracy. Six million euro per hour that s the amount of the made in Italy turnover
loss; as it is reported by Confagricoltura (organization of representation and guardianship of the
Italian agricultural enterprise.) A loss caused by the so called Italian sounding whose images,
names and colors imitate the Italian products, but actually those products have nothing to do with
the original made in Italy quality, culture and traditions.
Of course, it is a rip off for the consumer that is easily lured, especially if the consumer is not aware
of the differences between the Made in Italy and Product of Italy or Packed in Italy labels. The
Italian flag and its Tricolore (3 colors) green white red is always very visible, on

Why Was Edith Cavell Important
A nurse, spy and humanitarian who died fighting, Edith Cavell, took a stand in history by
secretly helping Allied soldiers during World War I escape from Belgium which was occupied
by Germany at the time. She hid them in a hospital and safe houses even though she knew the
Germans wouldn t stand for it. When she was discovered as a traitor to the Germans, she was
executed by a firing squad and her death was made internationally known; she lived as a symbol
for the Allied and was remembered by her calmness during the execution. World War I
started
because of the assassination of Francis Ferdinand, heir to the Austrian throne, which was done by
the Serbian Black Hand because he wanted to make the Austro Hungarian Monarchy into a Triple
Monarchy with Serbia. Austria wanted to destroy Serbia due to the... Show more content on

She risked her own life to save other lives of people that she didn t even know. It also shows that
women can take a stand, and even if they aren t in the field, they can help in other ways like
Cavell did. When her execution was shown to the world of how brutal the Germans are, Edith
was shown as a heroic figure for the Allies. She was shown as someone who was willing to do
whatever it takes to die for her country and it was hoped that her display would encourage more
men to enlist in the war (Biograph Online). As said before, she is most remembered by her
words that she uttered, Patriotism is not enough , and she wasn t trying to fight her way to get
untied from the pole or remove the blindfold that was on her, she just stood there readily, and was
shot. (Bradbury) She died not blaming anyone and said what she believed before she died, hoping
that people would listen. And they did, the memory of her later lead to many memorials, wards,
hospitals, streets, schools, parks and even a Mountain being named after her. There were also
multiple books written and a couple movies (Edith

Examples Of Moral Dilemma
People come face to face with moral dilemmas every day without even realizing it. According to
the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, a moral dilemma occurs when you find yourself in a
situation where you have to choose between two choices, both choices at some extent are
unethical. Looking back over my life, I can recall a moral dilemma that I experienced while at work.
Before attending online college, I attended a school about 45 minutes away from where I lived
and worked. At the time I was working as a full time medical receptionist, where I would leave
right from work and go straight to school. I was enrolled full time, taking four night classes,
Monday through Thursday. My boss was really flexible with me and told me if I wanted I could
work part time and then ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I was very good at following her rules and never used her computer to take care of business, until I
really had no other choice. Around midterms we were giving a take home essay that we had to
bring back the next day in class. Since classes in college are usually a Monday and Wednesday
or Tuesday and Thursday schedule, I technically had an extra day to get the work done. Taking
four night classes, I was always pressed for time to the point where I forgot about the take home
portion until late the night before it was due. My professor made it very clear that he would not
expect any late essay, unless some type of emergency took place. I decided that I would stay up
late and write the essay and print it out before class the next day. When that day came I got up
and went to work, feeling very proud of myself until I realized that I did not save my full essay.
That morning when I went to print out the essay I realized that I must have deleted the majority
of the work and then saved it. This is where my moral dilemma came in. I had two choices to write
the essay at work or email my professor and lie to him about a family emergency that came up.
Neither one of these choices were ethical; If I was to do

Basic Home Computer Network and Computer Network Security...
Introduction Generally, computer network security systems and structures considered robust are
preceded not by software and hardware but by careful planning. A typical computer network
security plan must take into consideration a wide range of security risks and vulnerabilities and
from that, develop a road map to reduce such exposure. Given the need to protect the integrity and
confidentiality of data as well as other system quality attributes, the need to mitigate exposure
cannot be overstated.
Security Risks
In regard to security risks, key considerations include what I should be protected against and some
of the main vulnerabilities common in home networks.
Vulnerabilities
Basically, home network vulnerability can be taken to be a network weak spot that can be utilized
by security threats. According to Gervasi (2005), home network is exposed to various cyber attacks
through the Internet, and has security vulnerability such as hacking, malignancy code, worm and
virus, DoS (Denial of Service) attack, communication network tapping... Other vulnerabilities
include but are not limited to insecure network architecture and design as well as flaws in password
management. There are various ways of identifying and getting rid of vulnerabilities in home
networks. These include the utilization of tools designed to carry out vulnerability scans and
carrying out an audit of possible risks.
What to be Protected Against
Today, given the fact that electronic connectivity has

In 1979, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomenei overthrew the Western backed Shah and established a

  • 2. Descriptive Essay About Going To The Beach Have you ever been to the beach? I have been to the beach once, and honestly, I wasn t that impressed. Before I went, I looked up pictures of the beach I was going to, and it had clear, bright blue water, with perfect white sand. Plus, I was expecting to find lots of fine things, like seashells, sand dollars, and sea glass. When I first receiver the beach, I stepped out of the car, having my hopes way too high. The sand was white and fluffy at first, however, as you walked closer to the water, it became hard and the color of mud. The water looked like lake water. Honestly, I felt like I was at the lake, other than I couldn t see land on the other side looking out on the water. It grew better, too. The only thing close to seashells was little mussels that we would dig into the sand. There wasn t any sand dollars, or anything fantastic like that. Although I had some misconceptions, I still had a blast at the beach. I mean, I could have been a little slap happy, as it was my first time there, yet I m pretty sure that I would ve had a pleasant time anyways. I went with my dad, 3 of my aunts, and 9 of my cousins. We went to the Port Aransas Beach in Texas. We pulled up in two vans, one being gray and one being black, and we hauled out of them. We were all super excited. The kids rushed to see the water, however, were instantly stopped by the adults. We grabbed the boogie boards, towels, and lathered up with sunscreen. It seemed like forever before we could actually go out to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The two major Railroad Strikes were the Great Railroad Strike of 1877 and Railroad Shop workers Strike of 1922. The Great Railroad Strike of 1877, was due to workers not being happy about the pay cuts that were being made by their employer so often. Northern Railroads began cutting salaries and wages. Because of various railroads cutting wages by 10% back to back, workers were not willing to continue working under those conditions. Not only were the wages of the workers being cut, the amount work of work given to the employees increased and the employer did not hire additional workers. This then caused railroad employees to respond by taking control of the rail yard switches, and blocking movement of trains. Throughout various cities such as Baltimore, Pittsburg, St. Louise, and Chicago, Violent acts began to occur. Many people died throughout the cities. The strike cause the country s commerce to become paralyzed and pushed governors in different states to utilize militia members to reopen rail traffic. This action also helped set the stage for violence that would occur later in the 1880s and 1890s. The Railroad Shop Workers Strike of 1922 affected everyone in the country. This strike occurred because of the pay cut of seven cents to the wages of the railroad workers. • 13. Mass Media And Its Effect On The Air Waves Mass media distribution has been around since the invention of the printing press. (Gerbner, 1999) However, broadcast radio presented a higher level of distribution speed to this process and allowed for an extended reach to consumers. Since its creation, this technology has been controlled by FCC regulations and advertising support, limiting the freedom of the broadcasters so all of the possible listeners are happy. Between the government maintenance and listening trends, the range of music and content on the air waves has been reduced to 5 basic genres. The introduction of the internet has allowed this medium to once again evolve. The reach has been greatly extended, advertising made optional and freedom of use increased. This being said, the largest attraction to internet radio is its ability to be customized by the listener. Historically, the concept of internet radio has been around since the early 1990s. These broadcasts were still very limited because most of them were streams from terrestrial radio stations or niche talk shows. Carl Malamud began this phenomena with a weekly computer talk show, interviewing experts and streaming it openly online. These ideas challenged the traditional ways of European thought. . With these new concepts, the idea that science could explain everything, while religion could not, began to spread. The revolutionary thinkers of that time altered traditional interpretations of nature and challenged the established sources of knowledge. Among these intellectuals were Galileo, Kepler and Newton. When combined, their ideas provided enough evidence to develop certain theories and conclusions about the universe. Galileo was a philosopher and mathematician. Galileo used the telescope to study astronomy. The classical era was helped shaped from the works of Homer, The Illiad and The Odyssey, that in a way, created a set of rules and an ethnic identity for the Greeks. This rebellious servant is in paradoxical relationship with the ideal servant figure in 42:1 9, creating tension between them. The blind and deaf servant theme continues in 43:1 13, introducing the task of the servant as God s witness. In spite of the fragility of the servant, God still loves the servant Israel and wills to use the servant as his witness among the nations (43:10, 12; 44:8).26 God s original purpose in choosing his servant is for the nations to experience God s incomparable sovereign power and for his glory to be proclaimed among the nations, but the servant keeps failing to faithfully accomplish the task. Nevertheless, God s unconditional grace and the promise of redemption to his servant Israel are repeatedly declared in the subsequent passage (43:22 44:23). I would like to describe privilege as an advantage given to people. They can use them anywhere without fearing of anything. Being born in a white rich family also have many advantages in the society. You don t have to worry about anybody questioning you. I think white peoplehave a different life comparing to other people. I think it is better for white people to acknowledge their privilege. How can you acknowledge privilege without doing anything to lessen or end it? Acknowledge means to accept the truth. If you accept the truth and do nothing about it is meaningless. Acknowledgment can have a big impact in our life. We all know white people always had and always will have the same privilege so it s better for them to accept it. For example You are a black person. You are inside the store buying candy without any intention. Even you are just trying to buy candy why the cashier always look at you as if you are stealing something. A white person who was doing the exact activity the cashier would not even look twice to him. Why always privilege to white people? Why negative thinking to another race? • 42. Thomas Malthus—Section Summary Thomas Malthus Section Summary Malthus work, Essay on the Principle of Population, is often cited, first by Darwin himself, to have influenced Darwin s conception of the theory of natural selection. His work, though unpopular, and often proven to be off the mark, did in fact bring to the forefront many socio economic issues that are still being debated today: populationcontrol, food production and concerns over uncontrollable diseases arising from the effects of over population. In this passage it is stated that Malthus was proven wrong: ...Malthus dire predictions have proven to be wrong... (Efficiency and Equity 211). Malthus determined that during this particular scarcity of bread, that though the shortage was less than comparable shortages in other European countries, the cost of bread was 3 times as high as normal when, by comparison, the other countries with worse shortages of bread and bread ingredients, only demonstrated a doubling of prices. Malthus was obviously very aware of the effect pricing could have on food supplies and production. Another criticism of Malthus that is only alluded to in the text is his tendency to heap an undue amount of blame on the lower classes for their role in population growth: An 1881 report concluded that 80 percent of famine victims were drawn from the poorest 20 percent of the population...Thus, if the government spent more of its revenue on famine relief, an even larger proportion of the population would become penurious...although the administration was divided about the value of famine relief, these Malthusian views undoubtedly affected its volume and timing (Caldwell, par.40) Malthus didn t necessarily propose that poverty, exploding population growth, famine and disease was intentionally the fault of the poor and lowest social classes, but that it was their inability ... • 43. Gilgamesh And The Epic Of Gilgamesh The maturation of Gilgamesh and his desire to acquire wisdom throughout his journey is quite apparent. By overcoming difficulties such as upholding Uruk, becoming friends with Enkidu, and various other scenarios, Gilgamesh proves that he did in fact grow up throughout the epic. As the epic starts, Gilgamesh is portrayed as a self centered, self admiring leader who believes that he is the only individual that can lead the city of Uruk. Gilgamesh believes that he is a god like figure and often refers to himself as one. He believes that he is above everyone else in the city of Uruk. For example, in the epic there is a scene where Gilgamesh enters the city of Uruk, the epic describes the scene as; He entered the city of Uruk the Town Square, and a crowd gathered around. He came to a halt in the street of Uruk the Town Square, all gathered about, the people discussed him (15). This quote is a good example of how Gilgamesh expected those around him to respect and look up to him as a god like figure. He did not lead the city of Uruk humbly; he wasn t a leader who strived to feel like a normal citizen of the city. Instead, Gilgamesh felt that he was entitled to more privileges than the average person. Early on in the epic, Gilgamesh is described as a tall, magnificent and terrible, who opened passes in the mountains, who dug wells on the slopes of the uplands, and crosses the ocean, the wide sea to the sunrise (2). This demonstrates how selfish Gilgamesh truly was, and how all ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. The Role Of Leptin And Its Effects On The Reproductive... Role of leptin in PCOS. Leptin is a hormone secreted mainly from the adipose tissue, serum levels of which are influenced by obesity, insulin resistance and the levels of sex steroids (androgens and estrogens) and insulin. It is mainly involved in the regulation of body weight by decreasing appetite and increasing energy expenditure. Besides regulating the energy metabolism of the body, leptinhas important actions on the reproductive system, which makes it an important link between the adipose tissue and hypothalamus pituitary gonadal (HPG) axis (2). Long term hyperinsulinemia in humans, as is the case in PCOS patients, stimulates leptin secretion from adipose tissue (9). Significantly higher leptin (P = 0.0028), and insulin concentrations, insulin: glucose ratio (IGR), and a significant correlation between leptin and fasting insulin concentrations, IGR, WHR and LH have been reported in obese PCOS women than in normal weight women with PCOS. There is a significant negative correlation between leptin and LH concentrations, independently of either BMI or IGR, suggesting a possible involvement of leptin in LH hypersecretion (10). Estrogens increase, whereas androgens suppress leptin production, suggesting sexual dimorphism in leptin levels (2). The direct and indirect effects of leptin on the HPG axis, such as acceleration of GnRH pulsatility (but not the pulse amplitude) in a dose dependent manner, suggest that leptin may play an important role in the pathogenesis of PCOS. ... Solution And Solution Selection Process Solution and Solution Selection Process As insignificant as 4% may seem, it has a very large impact on forensics and the entire criminal justice system. When DNA tests become invalidated, the test can no longer be relied on to be accurate. Forensics relies on the total accuracy of their test. When a test s accuracy cannot be verified, it cannot be used as evidence. With all of the data that laboratories have to process, how can the accuracy of the data be checked? In 2009, there were an estimated 26 million Child ID Kits distributed by the National Child Identification Program alone. For the safety of their children, more and more parents are turning to forensic analysis to protect their families. In each of the identification kits, there are supplies to collect a hair sample, saliva sample, and take fingerprints. In the event that something happens to the child, parents can present the information from these kits to police to use them to find the child. The Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System (IAFIS) is a database owned by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) that is shared with all law enforcement in the United States. When someone is believed to have committed a crime their fingerprints and other physical information is entered into this database for future use. • 48. Human Behaviour Is Odd At The Best Of Times Generally human behaviour is odd at the best of times. As inhabitants of the planet, most of us do try to live happy and productive lives against varying degrees of opposition, and sometimes our coping skills, the actions we take to be happy, appear to others, including ourselves, to be quite bizarre. This book is a selection of unusual cases from the files of leading therapists. A collection of first person accounts of the most bizarre therapy encounters ever. This book is interesting because each chapter is written from a different therapist s perspective and details how the therapist tackled their bizarre client. Not to be misinterpreted from the title this book isn t a freak show, tales of the macabre, but a genuine telling of memorable cases from professionals who have made it their life s work to help people in dire need and is written with genuine compassion and a noticeable humanity. After finishing the text, it also became clear to me that the business of the mind, psychiatry and psychology, is by no means a strict science. The various therapeutic techniques out their being used around the world run into the thousands. It is a social science that is constantly changing and developing. In other terms, there is no blanket cure for all or a miracle technique to make us into happy productive people. After reading these cases, what I notice most of the therapists had in common was their intuition. The conversations intertwined with the therapist s thoughts makes for a ... According to the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, a moral dilemma occurs when you find yourself in a situation where you have to choose between two choices, both choices at some extent are unethical. Looking back over my life, I can recall a moral dilemma that I experienced while at work. Before attending online college, I attended a school about 45 minutes away from where I lived and worked. Taking four night classes, I was always pressed for time to the point where I forgot about the take home portion until late the night before it was due. My professor made it very clear that he would not expect any late essay, unless some type of emergency took place. That morning when I went to print out the essay I realized that I must have deleted the majority of the work and then saved it. This is where my moral dilemma came in. Introduction Generally, computer network security systems and structures considered robust are preceded not by software and hardware but by careful planning. A typical computer network security plan must take into consideration a wide range of security risks and vulnerabilities and from that, develop a road map to reduce such exposure. Given the need to protect the integrity and confidentiality of data as well as other system quality attributes, the need to mitigate exposure cannot be overstated. Security Risks In regard to security risks, key considerations include what I should be protected against and some of the main vulnerabilities common in home networks. Vulnerabilities Basically, home network vulnerability can be taken to be a network weak spot that can be utilized by security threats. According to Gervasi (2005), home network is exposed to various cyber attacks through the Internet, and has security vulnerability such as hacking, malignancy code, worm and virus, DoS (Denial of Service) attack, communication network tapping... Other vulnerabilities include but are not limited to insecure network architecture and design as well as flaws in password management. There are various ways of identifying and getting rid of vulnerabilities in home networks. These include the utilization of tools designed to carry out vulnerability scans and carrying out an audit of possible risks.
