electricity and yield basic oxides and hydroxides.
NonMetals:
The element which form negative ions have
acidic oxides and are generally poor conductors of
heat and electricity.

Opaque as thin sheet
Solid at room temperature (except Hg)
6. NON METALS
Poor conductors of heat and electricity
Brittle – if a solid
Non-ductile
Do not posses metallic luster
Transparent as a thin sheet
Solid liquid or gas at room temperature
